I mentioned it in tags recently, so here’s a quick overview of the drama between Queen Rania of Jordan and UFONoMore:
UFONoMore published their first “What royal clothes are worth” post in January 2018. Queen Rania was included, and had the highest wardrobe value.
The Queen’s office issued a formal statement on the matter, confirming that most of her clothes are gifted, borrowed, or purchased at reduced price, and asking UFONoMore to remove her from their website. This is why none of the Jordanian royals now appear on the website.
There was, understandably, a HUGE kerfuffle about this. Castleholic wrote a good overview, including discussions of other controversial decisions by Queen Rania. So did @allthingsroyal (post at this link). Luxarazzi wrote a thoughtful post about the complications in the Hashemite Royal Court asking that Rania be removed from the website and the drama in 2019 over the value of Meghan’s wardrobe.
Personally, I side with UFONoMore here. Royals are public figures, supported by the people. Their clothing choices are one of the few things that can easily be examined by the public. Whether or not the royals actually spend full retail value on their clothes ultimately isn’t as important as the image projected by what they choose to wear.
UFONoMore is one of my very favorite websites. It’s a gem. Their findings are often controversial and rarely recognized for the tremendous amount of work involved. I track the retail value of what one member of my fictional French imperial family wears, and it’s hard enough to stay on top of that, let alone identify what dozens of real women wear, and keep retail value stats for 19 of them! They are, frankly, a lynchpin of the royal fashion ecosystem. They don’t deserve the amount of vitriol that comes their way, and they definitely did not deserve to be publicly blasted by a Queen.

“"There are people at the Cour who have credibly declared that they have been beaten in the face.“ Now we are talking physical violence? 😳😱 https://t.co/YdRQSZ8C4j”
Oh dear God, the Lux plot thickens and it’s getting more shocking

Hey :) I absolutely love this thing, and honestly check it ALL the time. (I know, I'm kind of obsessed!) Anyway, I think I read a fic AGES ago where Kate had a son (potentially with Castle) and she moved away (I think it was to Alaska, but I may just be making that up) and I think Castle went to find her... Okay, so that sounds very vague, but hopefully someone will recognise the general story! :) Thanks xx
That’s a tumblr fic by castleholic, so sweet!

Schloss Schleissheim
{New Post} Palace du jour: Schloss Schleissheim in Munich, Bavaria, Germany
Once you’ve seen one Baroque palace, you’ve seen them all – or so I thought. It was for that very reason that I did not go inside Schloss Schleissheim in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. Thankfully, my fellow castle-lover and friend, Svenja from Castleholic decided to visit Schleissheim and went in. She wrote three details posts on each of the three palaces that make up Schloss Schleissheim: Neues…
