SCHRÖDINGER’S IDENTITY / IDENTIDOX

(Plaintext: Schrödinger’s Identity / Identidox)

Definition: A label that describes being simultaneously a thing and not that thing. There are MANY ways to interpret this identity and there is no One True Way to identify with this label. Experiences can include, but aren’t limited to:

Your identity being related to both existence and non-existence, similarly to Schrödinger’s Cat.

Your identity being related to two opposing concepts (i.e. life and death, angels and demons, day and night, etc.)

Your identity existing as two different states of being because you are actively choosing to not “open the box” and figure it out yourself, so you live in that quantum confusion.

This can be used as a vesil label, a gender label, an orientation label, anything! Hell, use it as a system term if it fits. This concept is merely to put into words the idea of your identity being two (or more) opposing sides of a concept, which can make figuring yourself out confusing as shit. 

Many subterms will be made under this one, which will be under what I’m calling the Schrödinger’s Label System.

This concept stemmed from a lighthearted conversation that was had in a shared Discord server and was originally suggested by @elliott-mogai​ as ‘Schrödinger’s Lesbian,’ or when you’re simultaneously a lesbian and not a lesbian.

A term for someone who feels as if their identity is inherently interwoven with itself; every aspect impacts, affects, or is impacted or affected by every other aspect.

Someone who is teladen might feel that their neurodivergence influences their sexuality, their sexuality influences their gender, and their gender influences their experience with being neurodivergent. Someone else might feel that their physical disability inherently affects their experience with mental illness and that that itself is modulates their interests.

Everyone is this way to some extent, but it’s for folks who experience all aspects of their identity as part of one interwoven whole. Instead of parts that sometimes interact, a teladen identity is one thing with different aspects.

For example, I’m gay, and my experience being gay influences my gender. If I wasn’t gay, my gender would be different.

Teladen can also be used to refer to one part of one’s identity that influences all other parts of their identity.

Teladen is not a vesil, gender, or sexuality. It can be applied to those (a teladen gender would be one that influences all other aspects of your identity), and some vesils can otherwise be teladen, but a teladen is not a vesil (e.g. a non-teladen vesil would be cats influencing all aspects of one’s identity, and a teladen vesil would be one’s sexuality doing the same).

Şimdi böyle yazdığıma bakmayın. Acayibim. 22 Şubat 2014'te yaklaşık 5-6 aylık ürkek Neşeme kavuşmuş ve akabinde hamile olduğunu öğrenmiştim. Eh, iki aya kalmadan da bebişler dünyaya gelecek olmuş, Neşe hayatında ilk ve belki de son kez resmen sırtını sıvazlatarak sevdirmişti kendisini sancısı varken ve sevgiye aşırı muhtaçken. Doğumdan bir gün önceydi. Bir akşam boyu, ilk kez, bir doğuma şahitlik etmiştim. Ne olacaktı, hepsini doğdukları yerden toplayacak mıydı, vıcık vıcıklardı, fare gibiydiler ve aşırı komiklerdi!

Sonra Narin'in gözlerini kaybetmesi, Seher'le ikisinin ameliyatları, benim çalışma masamın çekmecesinin altındaki, kimsenin keşfetmediği boşluğu keşfedip sürekli sırra kadem basmaları ve beni delirtmeleri ve daha birçok şey. Bana “pro kullanıcı” olma yolunda ilk tecrübelerdi bunlar. Şimdi “Kedilerimde onlarca doğuma şahit oldum ve bu doğumları takip ettim. Doğum öncesi ve sonrası için, ayrıca genel kedi bakımı için sorularınızı yanıtlayabilirim. For English press 9.” kıvamındayım.

Çocuğumlara ikinci nesil diyorum çünkü Neşe'yi ilk sayıyorum ama aslında birlikte büyüdüler, bir ay on beş gün kadar sonra bu zıbışlar geldiler, dolayısıyla hepsi birden ilklerimiz aslında.
