Costume update !! I finally got to wear my 17th century outfit at Provins last weekend. I made the doublet with handmade threaded buttons, the linen shirt, the falling band & tassels, and a very rushed cassock that I'll probably fix or re-make when I have more than a couple of days ahead of me, lol. The lace is from tudor tailor and the boots & pants were thrifted.

I one day I'll find a way to make nice pictures of my costume, too, that'd be nice.

Pale Lights – Zenzele and Ferranda, Chapter 30

Lord Zenzele took the lead, Lady Ferranda volunteering to go behind him. The pair had stood together on the same unstable pillar earlier, narrowly keeping it from toppling by shifting their weight, and taken to each other since. Angharad hardly thought their griefs were the same – Zenzele had lost his lover and his aunt, while Ferranda only a close retainer – but that grief was shared could not be denied. Friendships had been made of less.

A sketch that got fancy ideas about being more. I’m slowly learning more and more about drawing flintlock pistols and muskets as time passes with Pale Lights.

Also, no, I did not make up the concept of thigh high leather boots with lace at the top. I’m not that creative. Those really were a thing in European Renaissance fashion. Although, obviously made for men.
