Hello! I just wanted to drop by really quickly and tell you that I absolutely love your writing. It’s amazing!

I’ve answered a few similar asks in the past so I’ll paraphrase a bit of what I know I said back then below the cut to preserve everyone’s feed.

To start, take your time with it ! It’s easy to get impatient and rush to finish a story when you know the direction you want to take it in which definitely translates more than one might think, so go slow and enjoy the process. Piggybacking off of that I would recommend having a tab open to look up synonyms for words you know you like to use. Personally speaking I love overusing certain phrases and words a bit too much and I worry about my writing sounding repetitive, so the use of alternatives helps a ton. It also grants you a better understanding of what you’re saying linguistically/grammatically.

I always tell people not to proofread until after they’ve finished writing but I definitely don’t follow that advice (I go back to reread my work like 48 times before I post it) so honestly whatever works best for you, do it ! Proofreading as you go helps to catch mistakes and lets you fix up the flow of certain areas, but waiting to edit until the end lets you get your undiluted thoughts on the page easier and you second guess yourself and your ideas less. Ultimately it’s whatever your preference is, I know some writers who almost never proofread/edit their works and others like myself who make themselves sick to death of their own stories because of how much time they spend analyzing the words on the page.

Also since you mentioned being new to writing, don’t get hung up on numbers !! It’s easy to lose motivation when you see something you worked hard on gain less traction than you hoped, but all that matters is that you enjoy your writing and have fun while creating ! The rest tends to fall into place :))

I'm not sure if I'm the best person to ask for writing advice but I'm honoured to have been asked and will do my best to answer!

My first and probably biggest piece of advice would be to always write for yourself! Write the stories you want to read, write your daydreams, write the scenarios you think up when you listen to music. Write what you think is interesting and fun. If you loved writing it then people will love reading it!

And don't compare yourself to other authors. Everyone has a different writing style, let yourself explore and find your own rather than beating yourself up for not writing a certain way. Fairy lights and flowers look different but both are beautiful <3

And no matter what, you're good enough and so is your writing. If you write then you are a writer, it's simple as that, so don't forget to give yourself that credit :) It takes courage to share your stories with the world. Just by opening a doc or putting a pen to paper you're already doing incredible.

Recentemente assistir o lar da srta.perigrine para crianças peculiares e olha,devo dizer que se não uma das melhores filmes que já vi esse ano,estaria mentindo caso o contrário,ele me levou a tantas formas diferentes de sentir e é extremamente lindo e bem elaborado,com diálogos e personagens bem alinhados e expressivos,o que me causou muita vontade de ler a saga.

Enfim pra quem gosta de um bom filme cheio de aventura,ficção,fantasia e até desfechos pouco sombrios, recomendo muito que assistam,é isso.

I recently watched Miss Perigrine's Home for Peculiar Children and hey I have to say if it isn't one of the best movies I've seen this year I'd be lying otherwise it took me through so many different ways of feeling and it is extremely beautiful and well-crafted, with well-aligned and expressive dialogues and characters, which made me want to read the saga.

Anyway, for those who like a good movie full of adventure, fiction, fantasy and even slightly dark outcomes, I highly recommend you watch it, that's it.
