Why did you choose your url? 

I used to be active on a site called NationStates and treason-and-plot was a nation I founded and used for RPing. The name had a lot of fun memories attached so I decided to use it again when I created my Simblr.

How long have you been on Tumblr?

Eleven years this year.

Do you have a queue tag?

I have no idea what this is. I barely know what a queue is, lol. I do have story tags though?

Why did you start your blog in the first place?

Ten and a half years ago I was on FB, but then my mother died. I found it very difficult to cope with the avalanche of messages and sympathy. It was lovely that so many people wanted to express their condolences, but I found it really hard to deal with my own grief, let alone the outpourings of emotion from so many people on FB. So I deleted my Facebook, and as a distraction created a Tumblr blog for my Sims 2 pics, which I had heard about on GoS.

Why did you choose your icon/pfp?

Harry was my icon for years which was interesting- for some reason there was a presumption that just because I had a male icon I was male myself! I chose my current icon (Naomi) a few years ago because I felt it was time for a change and because I loved that particular pic.

Why did you choose your header?

I won it in a competition!! The prize was a picture of your OC as a mermaid/ man drawn by @simdaisies. It makes me so happy to go to my blog and see Mia as a mermaid. And not only that, but a mermaid WITH BREASTS!

I have no idea how to even find out. I do try and follow everyone back though if they are active Simmers as I just feel that this is the polite thing to do, lol- I don’t care what version of the game they play! I will unfollow/ not follow people though if they don’t tag stuff correctly, spam the dash every couple of minutes, or if they post stuff that doesn’t align with my values, obviously.

5653. I think the majority were gained during Baby Jessica’s heyday and a ton are not active any longer.

Did you have a fight/argument with another blog once? Who won?

I’ve had a few trivial disagreements with different people through the years, but these have largely remained private. An exception was the flame war that once blew up in the comments section of one of my posts featuring one of my lesbian couples, started by a former mutual who became very vocal about her disapproval of lesbians. She thought lesbianism was immoral and unnatural and disgusting and that lesbians were on their way to hell, etc etc. What I found mystifying was that this person’s blog featured lots of very sexual gay male Sims!   

How do you feel about ‘you need to reblog this’ posts?

I have no feelings about them at all. They’re not part of my Tumblr reality.

All I know is that the Fangirling I did when @aikea-guinea and Sandy from @aroundthesims followed me back has never been equalled!

Not currently, but I did have a giant crush on @simsgonebye back in the day, and I still miss her beautiful Sims, wonderful writing and wit and wisdom.

Why did you choose your URL?

I wanted something different from Violincat, which I was already using on other sites.

How long have you been on Tumblr?

Since 2015.

Why did you start your blog in the first place?

To join a BC hosted by someone who is not longer active. And to interact with more Sims blogs.

Because I loved this picture of Anna from this photoshoot.

It’s one of my earlier pictures from The Roommies. I don’t think I’m going to be changing it anytime soon. It gives me happy memories.

Far too often... but it’s going to change soon for work reasons.

Weirdly enough, yes. I was sleep deprived and got into an argument with a literature blog about The Little Mermaid. I don’t remember the specifics of the argument or what our stances were. I do remember waking up the next day, though, after getting some sleep, and realizing how dumb the whole thing was.

How do you feel about 'you need to reblog this' posts?

A bit annoying. If I want to reblog a thing, I will. If someone tries to guilt me into doing something, the opposite will happen.

I initially joined tumblr Jan of 2012 (a different blog) at the subtle urging of @geekycamimh.  I created this blog in June 2016 and officially abandoned the old in Nov 2016.  There is a whole history behind this that would answer many of the other questions, but I’ll not get back into that hate-driven exchange from another Simmer.

why did you choose your url?

I studied French in my uni. Jolie is pretty in French. I added ‘bean’ to make it sound cuter. Yeah, I thought I was so innovative when I came up with my username.

how long have you been on tumblr?

In July it will be 7 years. Also I had a personal blog before that, I think I’ve learnt about tumblr in 2012 during my ~Dragon Age~ phase.

why did you start your blog in the first place?

At first I was just lurking around and looking for CC. 🙈 This blog was planned to be just an archive with reblogged CC posts. Then I wanted to share the interior shots I’ve made so others could see it too. At some point I decided to do a CAS challenge, it was fun and it helped me to gain my first followers and to meet new friends. I still have some sims I’ve made for that challenge saved in my Library.

why did you choose your profile picture/icon?

It’s one of my models. I rotate my models on my profile pics from time to time.

why did you choose your header?

I really need to change it but I’m so lazy and have no idea what I want there. I like the gif I’ve made with falling snow. It’s serene and beautiful.

I try to avoid drama at all cost, life is too short to spend it on online arguments. However, sometimes you can not escape it. I wasn’t proud of myself when I let my emotions take over. There cannot be a ‘winner’ because such arguments only leave the taste of resentment and frustration for both persons afterwards.

It depends on a post. I don’t want to clutter my blog with non-sims stuff too much since it’s my escape from reality and safe space. I reblog more different stuff on twitter tho.

Why did you choose your url?

Because it’s been my Internet nickname since something like 2002. As far as I know, I’m the only Nocturnal Azure on the web.

How long have you been on tumblr?

Since July 2013.

Do you have a queue tag?

I queue the story updates under “#tteot story” whenever they’re ready and sometimes I queue photo shoots in between. Story updates are a bit of a hassle because I don’t want to cut a scene in the middle so I don’t use the automatic publication. I have to specifically schedule each post. My queue starts at 2pm CET because it looks like the most appropriate time for almost everyone around the globe (morning in the US, afternoon in Europe and evening in Asia).

Why did you start your blog in the first place?

I was only posting my story on WordPress when I realized that there was a big simming community on Tumblr. My initial intention was to use this blog to promote my story and post a few random pics and it ended up becoming my main blog!

Why did you choose your icon/pfp?

My icon is my simself and has always been. If I had to choose one of my characters, I honestly don’t know who would be the most recognizable. And in the end... my url is my nickname so it makes more sense that my icon would represent me instead of anyone from my story.

Why did you choose your header?

My header has long been a view of Anne Arbor, where most of the story takes place. I’ve recently changed it to a picture of the Golzine family. I thought it would attract the eye a bit more?

I believe it would be this one, aka the playtesting pics of Woeford by @nornities and @simsmidgen. :)

How many mutuals do you have?

I don’t really know? I don’t automatically follow back, I only follow if I’m genuinely interested. I tend to prefer actual stories rather than gameplay but that’s not an absolute. I could never get onboard the TS4 ship: I know that’s really personal and subjective but I honestly find the graphics visually offensive (or more accurately: ugly af). As a consequence, I follow very few TS4 blogs.

It wasn’t really a fight, more like a mini-shitstorm I unwillingly generated a while ago. I had posted something about the invisibility of small simblrs and some of the “bigger“ simblrs reblogged it and kind of used my post as a stepstone for their own arguments and visibility. When I pointed out that this was exactly the kind of behavior that made smaller simblrs invisible, instead of trying to understand my point and react in a constructive way, they immediately got defensive and the whole clique teamed up against me. This was quickly turning into a high school playground tinted with a popularity contest and I politely bowed out. End of story.

How do you feel about ‘you need to reblog this’ posts?

Nothing needs to be reblogged. Reblog only what you want and don’t guilt-trip people into doing it.

Why did you choose your URL?

A couple of schoolfriends called me Rurple when I was in my teenage years because I used to dye my hair a reddy purple colour (hence Rurple, but it’s better than Pred! 🤣) I saw other Simmers using the ‘playsSims’ tagline and I didn’t have any other ideas. I’m glad I used it as I can now use the addition for my CC Finds blog which is RurpleFindsCC.

How long have you been on Tumblr?

RurplePlaysSims has been on Tumblr since February 2021. 

My RurpleFindsCC blog has been on here since I decided to separate my CC from my main blog which I'm a lot happier about, which I’ve done since September 2021. 

I’ve got another blog on here which I’ve had for a few years but hardly ever use (not sure I know the username and password..) but that was mostly to reblog BBC Sherlock memes and funny things. 

Do you have a queue tag?

See now, I’m not quite sure what this means. I am guilty of having quite a long queue (it’s 76 posts long atm!) but is this to do with the mass post editor to move them to the queue? If so, I don’t use it. 

Anything thing that is an actual CQ post and therefore part of the story, gets written up and then moved to the queue chronologically. That’s why I got so annoyed when Tumblr lost three of my posts a few months ago because when they were retrieved, I had to post them out of sync. 

I made the tags so because then it’s easier for someone to read the entire story (if they wanted to, that is some undertaking with over 1500 posts!) by just clicking the ‘Next Page’ button.

Why did you start your blog in the first place?

I’m not quite sure. I think I was bored one day and stumbled across some TS2 stories and I fell in love with them. I think it was @holleyberry’s Dossanina story which first introduced Sim stories taken with screenshots to me. 

I was already very familiar with TS2 machinima and series on YouTube as I once tried a go at making some (They are so embarrassing to watch back now as my spelling was AWFUL and I clearly had no access to a spellchecker!) I think those videos are still live and you’re welcome to laugh at my attempts of a riveting story.🤣 Just PLEASE do not judge my ability on them! 🙈 I was 13/14 years old when I was making these. I had to borrow my parent’s computer, which was a very old Windows XP and I was restricted in when I could play Sims. So the videos were very...cringe for me to watch them back. Seriously, they were awful. You can find them for yourself, no way am I tagging them here! 🙈🙈🙈

My game was so poorly organised back then, from my custom content hoarding and my Downloads folder was a DISGRACE. Nothing like the strict regime I have nowadays. 

Why did you choose your icon/pfp?

Well it was originally a picture of myself but  some people made comments on how nice I look. I am AWFUL with appearance-related compliments. 🙈 It could’ve been worse I know but that’s just how I am.

So I changed it to one of the pictures I’d done with Althea Campbell, the founder from my BaCC in this challenge. 

I like how people only know me on here as a creator and who likes to issue praise where it is well deserved. I know how much people’s love of your craft/story will motivate you to do more. I know that I’d have stopped CQ ages ago if people didn’t care about it. 

As you’d see (if you’re ruthless in tracking them down!) with my TS2 attempts, nobody watched them so I gave up with no motivation to carry on, hone my craft and build a skill. 

I love to write (as the length of this post clearly says!) and I love how most of you only know me via my story and the comments I leave. 

I love that, whilst my family know I have a blog and a story on it, they won’t read it or leave comments. I’m cool with that. It gives me more freedom to write because I’m then not worried that if I write that a character does something, the people who know me might wonder if I’ve done that thing in the series. Hopefully that makes sense.

Why did you choose your header?

I chose the header after I decided to make my main blog strictly for the story and behind the scenes content for Campbell Quay BaCC. So I took a (then) current picture of the neighbourhood. 

I am never changing it as it shows how empty my neighbourhood was back then compared to now. 

What’s your post with the most notes?

Apparently, according to Tumblr Top, it is this post which was a reblog of the original post for me completing Campbell University (154 notes). 

In second place, which still gets likes and reblogs to this day, is this one where I recommend people to read the Dossanina  story I mentioned above (114 notes).

Is that when you follow a blog that follows you back? How the hell do you check this?! 🤣 

I know it’s quite a lot as whoever follows me, if they post Sims content (preferably TS2) I will nearly always follow them back in thanks.

Yes! 🤣 Just follow ‘random Jess note’ tag on my blog and you’ll see some. Beware of the ones that have ‘RANT’ as well.

I’d use it in my sleep if I could. 🤣 

I have had an active queue for months now so even if I’m not looking at the site on my app or computer, I still get notifications of blogs I follow and if people leave likes or replies in my posts. 

If I’m home for the day and have nothing planned, I’m on Tumblr, either editing some new posts or backing up my story on another site.

More information soon when I get most of the story inputted. It’s taking FORVER as I have to manually copy and paste the text and pictures individually but I’m scared that my blog might be accidently(?) deleted like some Simmers have of late.

Not that I am aware of, I don’t like fights of any kind.

It’s a combination of tempting fate and “With all due respect, don’t tell me what to do.” 

But, in special circumstances I will reblog without question. But as a rule, I like to keep my blog for just my story content.

Why did you choose your url?

My Tumblr account is supposed to be an English version of Los Sims de Ana, my Spanish blog in Blogger.

How long have you’ve been on Tumblr?

I started it in August, 2013. That’s almost 9 years, but I was inactive from April 2015 to February 2017.

Do you have a queue tag?

I'm afraid I don't know what a queue tag is, lol.

Why did you start your blog in the first place?

I wanted to have a blog in English, plus I noticed that Tumblr had a very lively TS3  community, so here I am. 😊

Why did you choose your icon/pfp?

My icon is a pic of Tony and Cassandra, from my Island Paradise story/gameplay. I chose them because they’re my favorite sim couple ever. <3

Why did you choose your header?

I have a pic of Sunset Valley as a header now, but I try to change it often. I use pics of Oasis Landing, Island Paradise and Hidden Springs as well. Those are the four worlds where my present stories take place.

No idea, but it’s probably one about Dale and Kelly, from my The Cho Brothers gameplay.

I would tell you if I knew where to check that. For me mutuals are the simmers I truly interact with, you know, the ones that comment on my posts and I comment on theirs. I don’t have many, probably ten or less.

Did you have a fight/argument with another blog once?

I would say yes, twice. Neither of the two happened here on Tumblr.

The first one happened on a Sims 2 forum where I used to be, it wasn't a fight as such but a heated argument. I clarify that I wasn't the one who got in trouble, rather I was defending a friend who had a problem with the admins. We couldn't come to an understanding and they took away my Artist badge, (a symbolic distinction given to some members). I took down my pics and stories and I left the forums. No one won, we all lost because we couldn't sort our disagreements.

The second one we could call a fight, small but it was, it happened in Twitter when I tried to open an account of Los Sims de Ana on that platform. As soon as I started it, another simmer came out to say that the account name was already hers, that I had copied it or something like that. I was shocked!  Yes, our names were similar, they were only different in one letter, but not the same, we were definitely not clones. No one won, I guess, cause in the end each one kept her own name. From my side there are no hard feelings, it was an unpleasant moment and somehow scary, but now everything is fine for both of us-- I hope.

Sorry I don’t give more details but these are painful memories that still hurt a bit. I don't like fights, much less over a game.

How do you feel about ‘you need to reblog this’ posts?

I don't reblog out of obligation, especially if it's about political stances or anything to do with delicate topics, my blog is only about The Sims 3. I sometimes reblog (voluntarily) posts from other simmers mostly of custom content that might interest or be useful to any of my mutuals. But that's about it.

Do you like tag games?

Yes I do! But sometimes I don't have enough time to answer them. Plus I get a little anxious talking personal stuff. 😅

Which of your mutuals do you think is Tumblr famous?

Hmm, fame is a tricky thing nowadays. Anybody can be famous in the internet. I think ‘fame’ in Simblr is more like popularity and has to do with certain skills like editing pics or creating custom content. In any case, I have my own ‘famous’ simmers among my mutuals, mostly writers and story tellers whose work I admire and love. They're my favorites and they're certainly famous for me. 💚

Do you have a crush on a mutual?

Not exactly on a mutual, but on their stories and/or their characters, writing, pictures, creations, etc. They're a few, all of them very talented. I’m not going to name names, but I think they know who they are. 😉

Why did you choose your URL?

It's a nickname my mom called me as a little girl and I love dandelions.

I joined because of a BC I sent a sim to and wanted to follow it. Unfortunately that simmer is no longer active.

It's a drawing of my favorite sims couple. It was a birthday gift from a friend who had another friend draw it. It's awesome!!

Why did you choose your header?

This picture changes depending upon which sim family I'm currently in love with. I haven't changed it in a while so I'm due for a change.

I have no idea. I try not to pay attention to notes. If I did I'd be depressed and give up posting altogether because the number of notes my posts make are kind of depressing.

Unfortunately. I never completely understood what happened. I moment we were DMing each other and the next day I was blocked. They soon left simblr so I figured she was having some personal problems and hope she's well.

If I want to reblog it I will but I tend to get stubborn if it's something that's demanded of me. Then the opposite will happen.

Why did you choose your URL?

Not too many people I knew played the Sims in my “social Circle“, and the ones that do are a lot younger than me. So, when I started on Tumblr, Spinstersimmer amused me. But when I had to create a new page, I never deleted the old one. So “shesthespinstersimmer” seemed like a good choice.

My stories have been banging around in my head for years. It was seriously lonely having no one to tell them to. and when they started to multiply, I started the blog.

It was the best picture I had at the time; then I heard that most simmers don’t use their own face. I left it there in rebellion.

It was the first time I stepped out of my comfort zone and participated in a challenge. I like to keep it up there to remind me of a time I was brave.

Why did you choose your URL?

I started out as simsmonogatari but that was way too long so I shortened it.

How long have you been on tumblr?

I’ve had this account since 2015 ish? Although I did have a personal account before that and I thinking about it now, I have no idea what the password is.

Nope.

Why did you start your blog in the first place?

Simsmonogatari was intended as a space to share sim stories, but due to my lack of patience and creativity, I gave up on that idea and stuck to sharing pictures of my pixel babies, and the occasional sim or two.

Why did you choose your icon/pfp?

My current icon is a cropped pic of a sim I created (based off of the character from Shingeki). As to why? I have no idea, just fancied it at the time.

It was supposed to be a placeholder but I completely forgot about it and now I just don’t care (￣ω￣;)

It used to be every day or every other day, but in recent years my visits have been less frequent and more sporadic. I guess it depends on how much work I have going on, or how tired I’m feeling.

Why did you choose your url?

Well, before several years ago I had a blog named exactly the same, it was a simblr too but I deleted the blog I don't know why and then after many years I decided to open a new simblr called exactly the same as before.

Why did you choose your URL?

It’s really just my creator name, nothing fancy. I wanted people to be able to easily find me and recognize my url. If you are wondering why I chose Simlicious as a name, I thought it was kinda cool at the time and I wanted something with the word “Sim” in it. Nowadays I think I could have been a bit more original.

How long have you been on tumblr?

Since February 2012. I just realized I missed my 10-year tumblr anniversary. I am really bad with dates and anniversaries in general though, so this is no surprise 😅

Do you have a queue tag?

Nope, I seldomly queue stuff anyway.

Why did you start your blog in the first place?

I was active in German Sims forums at the time and wasn’t really happy with only being in a “local” community. I wanted to spread my wings and also reach a wider audience, since I like creating for the sims games and communicating in English. I immediately liked the kind, open-minded simblr community, so I stuck around!

Why did you choose your icon/pfp?

Because I was too lazy to do anything else? Idk. I never had anything else and at this point, I wouldn’t know what else to put there anyway. It is not my simself, but just one of my models, put through a few artsy filters. Since my icon is purple, I feel like purple has become  my “simblr brand color”. I have grown fond of the purple hearts 💜 and I feel like they are my thing now. Purple is not my favorite color though, that would be Turquoise.

Why did you choose your header?

I am not sure this is considered a header per se, but the background behind the my tumblr icon is the same background I chose for my website and my tumblr blog background (though I colored it differently there). It looks like fancy 3D paper cutouts and I still love it after all these years. Maybe one of the reasons I never update my tumblr theme (though it is overdue!).

What’s your post with the most notes?

That would be this post of my Ugg Boots with 1206 notes, which I initially made as a Secret Santa gift. This might be my most popular creation ever, and I’m still proud of how well it turned out! I am just not proud that I chose the busy and dark group pic as the first pic in that post. I really tried to set a scene there and everything, but I like the minimalist approach with a clean background much better.

I counted 94, but I am pretty sure I miscounted due to going “OMG WHAT, THAT person is a mutual?” like 50 times. I have really cool mutuals.

244 (I think this is considered a low number, and I still cannot keep up with my dash at all)

Not really, no. I wrote somewhat angry posts, most of which I did not actually post (they are more like a diary at this point), most had to do with some simblr drama and opinions. But in general, I try to write in a cool and composed manner, even when the subject matter is heated. I feel like much more can be achieved by being polite, exploring stuff from different angles and outlining the facts than by screaming ugly things at the world.

How often do you use tumblr every day?

I open tumblr at least once every day, it is a reflex at this point, but I do not always actually look at stuff or interact. That depends on my mood and my mindset. Sometimes I spend hours commenting, posting, liking, and on some days I barely do anything.

Did you have a fight/argument with another blog once? who won?

I don’t think so! I do not like stirring up trouble. I remember I was once very close to being the target of a shitstorm, because I accidentally made another sims creator look bad and their protective followers were writing angry messages to me. I immediately apologized to the creator and changed my post and that was it!

How do you feel about ‘you need to reblog this’ posts?

I am unaffected by it. These posts remind me of chainmail, and I do not engage in those, nor in “you are a bad person if you do not reblog this, I will unfollow you if you do not reblog this”. Not reblogging does not mean that I do not agree with the contents of the post or do not care about it, it just means I do not want to clutter my blog, since I am very specific with the stuff I reblog.

Do you like tag games?

Depends on my mood and the specific questions asked but yeah, they are generally fun! I just do not like tagging other people (I do not want anyone to feel pressured, despite not feeling pressured by being tagged myself), so I usually tag anyone who wants to do them.

I think I’ve never done one before, most of them have to do with stories and characters, which I do not really have as a pure CC creator.

Several were or are widely known in the community, most of them moved on to ts4 now and I feel honored to still be on their list! I treasure my mutuals a lot, famous or not! I feel like by dropping names, some people always feel left out, so I’m not going to do that here.
