Yes, even if you're neurodivergent. I don't have ADHD, but it is allegedly a thing with ADHD as well. And I am autistic, and after a bunch of nerve damage (severe enough that I was basically housebound for 6 months), I had to completely rebuild my ability to get my brain to Do Things from what felt like nearly scratch.

Welcome to my yj chess headcanons:

1) what YJ calls chess is actually 5 dimensional chess with multiverse time travel. They just call it chess. They have sort of forgot the regular version exists. (I am, however, a fake 5d chess fan: it languishes in my steam library, intimidating, unplayed)

2) tim discovered it and got them all into it. They like it varying amounts:

Bart: undisputed reigning champion of 5 dimensional chess with multiverse time travel. Loves this game.

Cassie: has the basics down and does fine vs other folks or the game ai. Hates the game. Must be tricked into being competitive about it to make her join in.

Tim: was excited about the game and got v into it v intensely as he does. Burnt himself out on it a bit. He's pretty good but doesn't know if he loves or hates the game. Will get hypercompetitive about it tho.

Kon: good at it pretty naturally because he's used to thinking in multiple dimensions (been flying since day 1) but he can psych himself out second guessing his moves. Likes playing the game, can get competitive.

Greta: good at the game because she has so. much. free time. Can get tunnel focused on it and doesn't mind losing as much as the others, so can play against bart for hours and hours. Always up for a game, enjoys it.

Cissie: good at it pretty naturally, but doesn't have strong feelings about it. Plays mostly with Traya because Cassie really doesn't want to.

Traya: v good at it, and really likes it. Plays with Cissie at school and also Red Tornado a lot. Prolly can beat Bart maybe 1 in 5 times?

Anita: wasn't sure about it but got hypercompetitive about it and is now pretty good. Likes it now that she's good at it.

Slobo: also v good at it! Its similar to some space games prolly, and like kon he's v used to thinking in multiple dimensions. Doesn't get as competitive as some of the others which really gets them steamy when he beats them.

Ray: Newbie player who got thrown in the deep end. One day YJ was like, let's have a chess tournament! And Ray was like, oh okay thats a wierd thing to do out of the blue but I can roll with that I know chess. He did not know chess. Still learning but getting the hang of it. Now has a fear response to it tho.

3) they play online w each other all the time but every now and then have tournaments when they are all hanging out. They used to just do a winner plays next round sort of thing but it always just ended up w everyone losing to bart all the time. Tournament winners get favors and tournament losers have to do dares.

4) bart plays with his civilian friends too!! They are varying levels of into it but I think Carol likes it a lot.

5) one time Ra's al Ghul challenged tim to a game of chess and when he got sat down at a regular chess board he was just like.......whet is this.... and completely blanked on the rules to regular chess

Some Undertale gamer headcanons:

Someone said that Toriel would be the world Tetris champion, and I'm not sure why, but I agree with that. And not just Tetris, but bubble-poppers, match 3, marble-shooters, all of those kinds of games. She's the new Candy Crush mascot.

I've also seen people say sans would be into rhythm games, and... no. Why would you think he would be into something that takes that much effort? Seriously, come on. What sans is into is farming sim games. He's written dozens of online strategy guides for Stardew Valley, all of them under different pseudonyms.

Papyrus is into online multiplayers. All of them, any genre- Fortnite, Apex Legends, Fall Guys, Elder Scrolls Online, Runescape, you name it. He sucks at all of them, but none of his online friends is willing to tell him how bad he is because he's so darned innocent and nice. Nobody really wants him on their team because he'll always make them fail the mission, but he's so upbeat and uplifting that no one has the heart to tell him they don't want him.

Undyne loves Souls-like and dungeon crawlers, but she struggles with anything that requires stealth, she just doesn't. do. stealth. She says it's stupid to have to sneak up on enemies, she should just be able to barge in with guns or swords or spears blazing in any and all circumstances. Don't ever even suggest Metal Gear to her. Or Breath of the Wild- she rage-quit after the Yiga Clan Hideout quest (although it did leave her with the impression that bananas give you strength in battle, so she now always keeps a bunch of bananas on hand).

Blooky plays solitaire and Mah Jongg, and even those stress them out.

Maddie plays casino and slots games. On an unrelated note, she's always broke.

Mettaton is the rhythm games master. You will not change my mind on this.

Alphys is HEAVY into JRPG's. The more anime it looks, the more she loves it.

Asgore has no idea what a video game is. Well, ok, he has some idea, his kids both played games, but he never could figure them out. He thinks Sonic and Crash are both Mario characters and that Link is a girl- you get the idea. But he did used to play card and board games with Toriel. Especially chess (she totally owned his ass in every match). Ever since Toriel left, he can't bring himself to play chess. He plays checkers a lot, tho. He usually loses (he plays against himself).

Asriel and Chara were into action/adventure games. Asriel's favorite characters were Yoshi and Link, while Chara's favorites were Samus and Shadow the Hedgehog. What? No, I'm not projecting my favorite games onto the Dreemurr kids. What are you talking about?

Frisk has only ever played the hit indie game Undertale. About 500 times. Always Pacifist, they've never even tried a Geno run. They've been thinking about playing that Deltarune game, too, but they kinda wanna wait until the whole thing is released.

- all the highest scores on the arcade machines are his. no one has topped them bc they’re fucking insane

a/n: I can't believe people actually read my smut lol. So, here I am again! english is not my first language, I apologize for any grammar mistake or confused sentences. And, unfortunately, no one reviwed this before I post.

You are with your best friend Johnny at your own house, it’s Saturday and you were completely bored until you’ve decided to invite him. Johnny is your childhood friend, his mother is friends with yours and perhaps even your grandmothers were friends, but that’s not the point here.

You’re sitting on the carpet with your back against the couch while Johnny is laying on that couch, both of you staring at the huge online movie catalog on the TV. You groan, frustrated. “Why does everything look so boring?” You look at Depp, hoping that he has something on his mind that might rescue you two away from this tedious state. In truth, he indeed has something on his mind, but that wouldn’t be right…

He bites his lower lip, thinking, then looks at you. “Because you’re a grumpy, picky girl” He teases with a resting face, dropping the remote on your lap. You gasp mockingly, and playfully slaps his leg. “You’re ridiculous.” You chuckle. “I hear that a lot.” He chuckled along.

Johnny shifts, now sitting on the couch. “So, what now?” He looks down at you, leaning forward to rest his elbows on his knees. “Do you have any board games?” He suggests with a shrug. “Board games…” You narrow your eyes, trying to remember if you have any, at least a decent game to play. “Oh, I have Chess, Uno and Checkers.” You list, relaxing your gaze on him. “I don’t usually play Board games” You explain the lack of options, even though he didn’t ask.

He stands up. “Alright, I’ll get that Uno.” Depp heads to your bedroom, where the board games stay, they’re probably on top of your wardrobe, forgotten. You place the remote on the small table in front of you and stand up, stretching your arms over your head. You walk towards the kitchen, maybe some snacks would go with the games.

You open the fridge and search for something to drink. A few memories of your childhood with Johnny floods your mind, a warm smile appears on your face and you don’t even notice it. You and him had been friends since forever, it seems. You can’t remember a day without him, he’s like a vital part of you. You think about your school days with him, the weekend sleepovers, the arcade afternoons… You especially remember the day he taught you how to play bowling, the way he smiled everytime your eyes asked for reassurance, the way his hands held yours to show how the ball should be thrown, his warmth from being so close to you- woah, what was that?

You shake your head, trying to dismiss these thoughts, and grab two cans of coke, placing them on the cabinet next to the fridge. You know you bought some chips the week before, so you start looking for it in that same cabinet. A loud sound coming from your bedroom snaps you out of your tranquility, the sound of boxes falling.

“Johnny?” You call, laughing softly, you wish you had seen that. “I’m good!” He shouts from the bedroom. His steps grow louder as he approaches you, holding a small box. “C’mon, you have Truth Or Dare? why didn’t you tell me before?” He asks with a smile, a small chuckle escaping from his lips. “Oh, do I?” You raise an eyebrow, looking at the box, neither did you know you have that. “Let’s go then..” You say, grabbing the two cokes and the bag of chips, following Johnny to the living room again.

You two sit on the floor, next to the small table. Johnny opens the box, revealing two piles of cards, he looks up at you with a smirk, he’s very competitive when it comes to Truth or Dare - or any challenging game. You watch him with an amused smile, finding his eagerness cute. “Alright. Rock, paper, scissors?” He asks, rubbing his palms together anxiously. You laugh softly and nod, already extending a hand. After three rounds, the paper against the rock turns you victorious. You choose one of the stacks and picks a card, reading aloud:

“Have you ever watched someone sleeping?” You stare at the card for a few seconds, then lower your hand to look up at Johnny, waiting for his answer. You think that this question is somewhat weird, why would someone do that? “Em... Yes, I have.” He chuckles, as if suddenly shy. You laugh in surprise “Really? Oh, wow, who?” Your smile is as wide as your eyes, finding it funny. “Hey, now it’s my turn.” He tries to change the focus, reaching for a card on the other stack, he brings it close to his face, reading. Once done, he glances at you and faces away, blushing softly.

“What’s the matter? Is it a dare?” You ask, curious. You don’t really like doing dares, but you’re also not the one to turn it down and ruin the fun. “You know what? this one doesn’t count, I’ll pick another one.” He says, already reaching for the cards again but you stop his hand. “Now, that’s cheating. Come on! Throw it at me, I can handle” You wink and lean back again, trying to be courageous… Was that even a good idea?

He clears his throat and reads the dare. “Kiss the person to your right” He searches your eyes again, trying to get your reaction. You’re stunned, you didn’t see it coming, but… Now that you’re thinking about it, that wouldn’t be so bad, right? a fake kiss wouldn’t ruin your friendship, would it? You laugh it off, trying to stay calm and composed. “It’s just a dare, nothing much… Are you okay with that? we can pick another card if-” You start, your tone slowly getting rushed as Johnny leaned closer, is he really doing it?

In truth, he would be stupid if he let this opportunity escape. He already had dreams about it, and now he has the best excuse to do it. He cups your cheek and presses his lips against yours, closing his eyes to savor the feeling. Your eyes are wide open though, shocked. Your best friend, your long time friend, is kissing you right in your living room.

It doesn't last long, and when you finally relax, Johnny pulls away. He looks into your eyes and you’re mesmerized, he gulps and leaned back. “Sorry, that wasn’t right-” He tries to speak but you interrupt him, grabbing his cheeks and pulling him closer again. Your lips crash against his, pouring all the repressed feelings that only grew over the years.

Then, he realizes. The only thing that would be truly wrong is denying his happiness. And his happiness is you, always have been and always will be. He kisses you back without hesitation, placing a hand on your waist, his heart feeling lighter and warmer. When the kiss ends, he smirks. “Looks like I’m not the only one competitive here.” He teases, giving your waist a gentle squeeze. “Shut up” You roll your eyes, chuckling.

“No, you shut up” He says, keeping the playful, teasing banter. That’s one of the characteristics of your friendship that you value and appreciate with all your heart, there’s no bad or awkward moments when you two are together. “Make me” you challenge, bluffing. You feel more confident, now that you don’t need to restrain yourself from following your heart, and it leads to Johnny.

“Oh.. I will,” He smirks, narrowing his eyes. He gently lays you down on the floor, his hand still on your waist, his body hovering over yours. “but you might moan a little.”

Gaming Headcanons (Call of Duty)

A/n: This is not canon at all and I thought it would be fun to think about what kind of games and gamer the CoD men would be

Price:

Price does not have a lot of gaming experience but he likes to be included in game nights

He's the one who rages the most when he is playing games (but it's mostly when he is playing multiplayer games)

Price prefers board games rather than digital ones (likes the atmosphere that is created when gathering around the table with close friends to sit down and have some fun it)

Don't ever ask him to play poker because he can and will kick your ass (unless you are a poker legend or you manage to cheat without him noticing)

He has his own personal chess board to play with (it's a nice quality wooden one that's not too big so that he can bring it with him to pass time when he doesn't have access to the internet)

Gaz:

A true master of gaming, like there's no game out there that this man won't be good at

Also kind of a sore loser when someone finally manages to beat him, Gaz kind of lets out this big sigh and crosses his arms over his chest while looking off into the corner but he doesn't stay this way for long, it more of a 'in the moment' situation (Gaz is more frustrated that he wasn't good enough to win this round but knows there will be other chances)

Gaz equally enjoys playing digital games as much as he does when he plays a board game (his favorite board game to play is monopoly, since he can get very strategic while he plays and is very easily annoyed when he's sitting in monopoly jail)

Soap:

Johnny is the person who tries to tell stories over the mic only to realize that he's been on mute for the past ten minutes (the rest of the group was wondering why he was so quiet all of the sudden)

He also has a Nintendo switch ( He has a Nintendo lite in the color blue) but he loves playing Mario Kart or any of the Mario Parties and loves it when you get frustrated when he steals first place or star from you (he gives his famous laugh and pecks your cheek while telling you how much he loves you while committing the vile act)

Trolls/griefs a ton. He thinks it's funny when other players scream curse words at him and never misses an opportunity to provoke them even further. (he laughs his ass off when they rage quit or if he has to read their attempt to argue back at him in the game chat)

He actually likes spending multiple hours on a game. Grinding to get the best stuff just so he can brag about it the next day.

Soap also does occasionally broadcast his game play with others (because he likes to look back on the memories when he feeling alone or that he just needs something to cheer his mood up a little)

Ghost:

Ghost is the type of person who would say they only play multiplayer games but likes to secretly play the cozy single player games like animal crossing and Stardew Valley (he rant to you about how unfair Isabella is when rating his island a mere 3 stars or how he often forgets to go back to his house before 2 am because he was too focused on the monsters and loot in the mines.)

Even though he doesn’t mind online multiplayer games to play with the rest of squad 141, he also doesn’t mind to play co-op games with you (his favorites to play are it takes two or playing some version of call of duty zombies on a split screen, he takes pride in protecting you in co-op games or he shyly admits a thank you when you revive him)

He just likes strategic games in general, you will find him often playing chess with Price ( when you watch them play, they always take the longest time possible to make their move, it seems like they both go through every possible move until they find the best position to move forward but the game is always interrupted by something that needs one or the other’s attention)

𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫'𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞: Hello! This is my first Matt Murdock fic. I have no idea if this is OOC for him, I've been wanting to write for Matt for a long time but I always find it difficult to write for characters I've never written for before. Please let me know what you think? I hope the anon that requested this enjoys and thank you so much for requesting, honestly this was one of the cutest requests ever and I couldn't wait to write it!

Matt was almost giddy, which was unusual for him. Not only was this date spontaneous on your part, but he’d really not expected the level of thought that you had put into this.

“What is this?” He asked, a laugh on his voice as he smiled brightly. You sat opposite him on a rainy Sunday morning inside of a warm, cosy and largely quiet cafe. There was a storm outside, the autumn leaves thick with rainwater as they piled up against the edges of the pavements and porches in a myriad of orange and red hues. In front of him was a latte and you had your own coffee too. But between you on the table was a chessboard.

“Well, I remember what you said not long after we met.” You began. “You were impressed by my amazing chess skills.” You teased. “And you said you wished you could play.” “Oh, absolutely.” He chuckled, bowing his head in amusement. “Well, I found a blind accessible chessboard online and I wanted you to be able to enjoy it with me.” You told him truthfully, all teasing and joking gone from your tone. Matt’s smile softened, hands reaching across the table to find yours. “You are too sweet, way too sweet to be my girlfriend.” He grinned. You only heated at his comment, but Matt sensed your shyness and took your hand in his. “Come on sweetheart, teach me how this works.”

“Alright,” You said, holding his hand in yours and guiding it to the chessboard. “The board has two colours of squares. One is black and the other is white. The black squares are indented.” You explained, letting him feel across the board to identify the grid pattern. “The pieces are all on pegs, so each square has a hole they can fit into.” You tell him, watching as he curiously lands on a pawn and pulls it out of the board. “All of the pieces are textured so you can tell which one is which. Mine have raised bits on the top and yours are smooth, so you can tell if it’s an enemy piece or not.” You explain and he takes it in, nodding and reaching over to get a feel of the pieces on your side of the board.

“What do you think so far?” You asked. “You really did this for me.” He’s soft now, cheeks glowing with warmth, his smile reaching high up to his eyes. “Of course, Matty.” You said. “Sweetheart,” He paused, taking your hand in his and lifting it to his lips, leaving a kiss on your hand. “What the hell did I do to deserve you?” “Hmm I don’t know but I think it has something to do with being a flirt.” You giggled and watched as Matt fell into a relaxed laugh. “Okay, okay, tell me how to play, baby.”

For the next twenty minutes, you held a tutorial game, where you did your best to slowly teach him how to play a game of chess using the new board and allowing him plenty of time to get used to the layout and how the pieces moved. Matt, unsurprisingly got the hang of chess, the pieces and their movements within a couple of tries.

“You know, for a guy who's never played before, you run a tough game.” You told him as you played through your first proper game. “That’s just beginner’s luck, sweetheart.” Matt chuckled, a proud smile tugging at his lips. “Are you sure you’ve never played before?” You asked. “I’m sure, baby. But I’ve got a good teacher.” “Oh really?” You giggled softly. “Tell me about that.” “Well, she’s got the prettiest voice I’ve ever heard, she bought me a chess board I can use, she’s super sweet and I think I want to take her out to dinner tonight.” He gave you a devilish grin and you couldn’t help but become shy and giggly over his statement.

The storm grew worse outside as you started another game, but as the morning went on, a couple of hot drinks later and you were convinced Matt was now going to get this chessboard out as much as possible because every time you finished a game, he was eager to begin another.

“Sweetheart, will you come over tonight?” You paused, drinking some of your coffee before you spoke. “I’d love to.” “When the storm dies down and bit, we should head to mine and get comfortable. I’d like to listen to some classical music while we play.” “Chess?” You asked. “Yeah, something like that.” The devilish grin made its way onto his lips again and you felt your cheeks heat intensely. What a tease.
