Gotta love how the gay rights, women’s rights, anti racism, anti classism, labour rights, islamophobia of this entire website go to hell when countries like China are concerned.
Is communism really all that important to you that you can ignore all the horrors these people are doing?
Is it that your propaganda of “communism good capitalism bad” really needs to be the only one heard, so the condition of workers in Shein and other companies is hindering you as you protest why communism gives labours rights?
Is your idea of every communist nation being utter utopia so fragile that the reality of horrors in that country really need to be muted?
I don’t know man, it feels to me that you guys are “putting your worldviews over people’s lives”.
That sound familiar?

G-D I LOVE RESPONSES LIKE THIS! Really puts me in my place and shows how much of a saint you are...
P.S. Fun fact: Did you know that the Chinese government recently deemed Muslims or practicing Islam as a "mental illness"? I'm not joking... Go ask them.
Israel has done no such thing.. yet look how they are demonised for being "the bad guy". They house 2 million Arabs (most of whom are practcing Muslims, and they dare not tear down the Dome of the Rock)... and yet are attacked and called an apartheid. Give me a break.
Pot calling the kettle black, I always say!

Hey, everyone, be careful of a “news” source called Epoch Times!
Epoch is a conservative news outlet that is making a transphobic documentary saying how it’s “based on a true story”.
It has all the bells and whistles: a detransitioner saying how they detransitioned because “[their] body started hurting” (which is a valid reason, but stopping treatment for your body’s sake doesn’t make you any less trans) which then immediately cuts to people saying how people are “mutilating their bodies”. It says “Since when are parents the bad guys?” and has a random teacher saying “Okay, kids! Today we’re going to learn about gender. 😃” Dude, no teacher says or does that 😂
According to this piece of nonsense, we trans people are being supported by the government as well! I don’t know what fantasy land they’re living in, but I wish people wouldn’t commit a genocide against us and instead help us 🥲
I didn’t grab the name of the video (the editing had less than a second to display the title), but I do know that apparently it’s going to be in Epoch TV on June 16th, so be careful! We might see a rise in transphobia then.
Here’s some information about Epoch (please add anything else you think I missed in the comments or reblogs):
Apparently, Epoch has done quite a bit of shady crap in the past:
Please be careful everyone!

How Beijing targets Chinese Canadians through foreign influence operations, March 3, 2023
Alliance Canada Hong Kong executive director Cherie Wong joined Power & Politics Friday to discuss how Beijing targets Chinese Canadians. Akshay Singh and Dennis Molinaro, two experts in foreign influence operations in Canada, also weigh in on the scale and goals of foreign interference activities in Canada.
CBC News
@allthecanadianpolitics
There is an important distinction being made here that the foreign interference from China seeks to be pervasive by co-opting individuals, institutions, and community groups. The interest and influence is party agnostic and sees us in the Chinese diaspora as an entry point: whether in support of certain electoral and policy outcomes, controlling what information gets propagated into the communities, appropriating issues like discrimination and increasing distrust in our own systems and institutions, or directly and indirectly targeting people of interest.
***
It has been strongly implied in the recent reporting about Chinese interference in Canada that it has been a failing (if not to the benefit) of the Liberal government and Trudeau, rather than systematic attempts to influence Canadian politics and economics for decades coupled with our country’s complete underestimation of China and the United Front.
In my own experience the Chinese-Canadian media and political consumption has undergone an extreme shift into partisanship with clear pro-China and anti-China camps rather than aligning into our political parties.
The faltering of Hong Kong-based press, media, political freedom, and  ties with Taiwan and the greater diaspora community has seriously depleted any sort of moderate and critical voices in English or Chinese coming directly from the region, with writers and journalists re-immigrating or retreating from public view.
Cold War rhetoric and posturing over Taiwan, Tibet, Xinjiang, Hong Kong, as well as exposed espionage and foreign interference operations is opening new fault lines within and directed at diaspora while deepening the isolation of the domestic Chinese population.
The pop cultural center has moved with the economic affluence into the Mainland, catered to and directly influenced by a network of state-run broadcasters and private corporations ultimately answerable to the Chinese government. It can be difficult to engage with any of it as entertainment let alone to keep up with news without expending a lot of energy consuming it critically.
Tangentially but also related, many of Hong Kong’s pro-democratic political figures (the Hong Kong 47) that interacted with the outside and independent press or engaged other countries in the aftermath of the 2019-2020 protests and subsequent political organizing have been effectively silenced, charged, and/or jailed. They are only now being formally sentenced under the highly controversial Hong Kong national security law.
The political reverberations led to a postponed and then uncontested election for their legislative and executive body without any substantive opposition, the closure of multiple news organizations, civic rights groups and unions, the local polling institute, and the effective silencing of editorial independence at their public broadcaster.
Self-censorship and the chilling affect is extremely strong by those regions directly affected as well as the diaspora communities, out of fear or apathetic hopelessness it is eroding our ability to speak, associate, or engage with these issues freely no matter where we are.

I can't reblog it for some reason, but regarding a thread about how awful Mao is and how his policies killed a hundred billion people, I think this is significant.
---
DETROIT — Another country that once had an addiction problem—one that lasted for almost 200 years and involved an incredible 25 per cent of its population—is China.
Today China is virtually drug‐free— and the methods the Chinese used to eradicate their addiction problem might well offer methods we could use to achieve the same results.
China was forced into addiction by the Opium Wars. Contrary to popular belief, these wars—from 1839 to 1842 —did not originate because China wanted to export opium. They began when China resisted England's demand to import opium in exchange for Chi nese products—mostly tea, silk, and porcelain. China lost these wars, and among other indignities was forced to exchange its goods for opium. As a result it became a highly narcoticized country, a victim of ruthless Western economic and political policy. By 1850 an entire fifth of the revenue of the British Government of India — the source of opium — came from Chinese consumption of this drug.
Obviously to enlarge the market for opium, China was forced to create a huge number of addicts. And it did.
In October of 1949 the People's Re public of China was proclaimed. With in a year the Communist Government instituted a comprehensive program designed to eliminate this threat to the nation. All evidence indicates that by 1953 the problem of narcotic drug abuse was practically eliminated.
One important factor was the changed ideology of the young people —no new supply of addicts was forth coming. The changes in outlook in cluded a redefinition of the nation and its youth, of their worth and role. In rural areas this new definition was based on land distribution; collective farming; new educational, social, and vocational opportunities; and the elec tion of local councils. In the cities it took the form of nationalization of commerce and industry, full employ ment, worker control, and the end of foreign domination.
This total ideological transformation of the younger generation was accom panied by the reintegration of Chinese society through small street commit tees that offered cultural leadership.
Equally significant in the Chinese drive to eliminate narcotic addiction were its methods of plugging the source, China is 80 per cent rural, and an unknown but significant part of the land had been turned into poppy cul tivation. The first major economic and political mass campaign of the Gov ernment was land reform, and this aim was coordinated with elimination of poppy growth. Distribution of land from large landholders to landless peasants was accompanied by the need to convert the opium cash crops to badly needed food crops. Today China produces enough opium to meet its medical needs, but no more.
Smuggled opium was still a source of the drug, and China acted to stop this supply with a policy of “carrot and stick.” Leniency was recom mended for employes and workers of opium traffickers; but heavy penalties existed for those controlling the traf fic, manufacture, or growth of opium.
China's attitude toward the individ ual reformed addict was one of good willed congratulations, and represents another important reason why the nar cotic problem was overcome. The re habilitation of opium addicts began with their registration. Arrangements by city‐wide antiopium committees for addict rehabilitation included treat ment to break the habit at home, in clinics and in hospitals.
At every stage of personal rehabili tation the ideological motivation was stressed. Given China's attitudes, this ideology was strong on political, so cial, and economic information. But the important thing is that the anti drug campaign recognized that the de sire and will of the addict is ultimately the controlling factor of addiction. China's policy was not simply to de prive a person of drugs, but to replace the need for narcotics with a forceful, national commitment. Equally signifi cant, the former addict was fully ac cepted back into Chinese life without official stigma or prejudice.
Naturally, many questions have to be answered about the total success of the Chinese experience. Is there an addict population living in labor camps or prisons because of failure to re habilitate? Do the rehabilitated addicts all function as useful members of Chi nese society? To what extent would addiction be a problem in China if its internal and border controls were less stringent? Does traditional Chinese medicine offer useful ideas about ad diction treatment?
---
Wikipedia puts the census count in 1950 at 546,815,000, and a quarter of that is 136,703,750. So about that many people saved from opium addiction by the Communists.
I wonder if that's the reason the West wants to focus so much on the famine.

Kissinger, a politician who misread the big picture (Essay)
Tumblr media
Kissinger is a politician who has long led the USA's foreign policy and is still influential. But I have the impression that he is a short-sighted politician.
The long-standing enemy of the USA is the Chinese Communist Party. After kicking the USA's emboldened Kuomintang from the mainland, today the CCP is "the USA's biggest competitor." China would have self-destructed if it was left to the stupid Mao Zedong. China has become a powerful country by providing capital and technology according to the logic of capitalism. Kissinger's responsibility for restoring diplomatic relations with China is heavy. He also kicked Taiwan out of the UN's permanent seat and made the Communist Party of China a permanent seat.
The Chinese Communist Party is an enemy that must be smashed. not a profitable party. During the Korean War, if the volunteer soldiers dispatched by the CCP had been annihilated with atomic bombs, the CCP would have collapsed. It was Truman's mistake not to do so, but Kissinger's responsibility for acting blindly without knowing such a major premise is heavy. He is said to be a realistic politician, but he is a politician who is too caught up in the phenomenon of reality and is not good at seeing the essence.
Rei Morishita

Come funziona l'Assemblea Nazionale del Popolo? 🚩
Cos'è la Democrazia Socialista Consultativa? 🚩
Cos'è la Democrazia del Popolo? 🚩
THE UNITED STATES WILL NEVER PROMOTE MUTUAL RESPECT AND MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING
🤹‍♂️ The arrogance, mixed with confusion, resulting from President Biden's rantings against President Xi Jinping, once again defined by the representative of the American imperialists as a "dictator" must not only be condemned, but also carefully analyzed 🤔
💬 Inside his sentence, there is proof that the USA has no intention of promoting 相互尊重-Mutual Respect:
💬 «Look, it is. He is a dictator in the sense that he is the head of a Communist country that is based on a form of government totally different from ours »🤹‍♂️
😂 At least, this time, a representative of US imperialism admitted it: for the USA it is enough not to have a neo-liberal and economically neo-liberal political model to be defined as a "dictator" 😂
😂 China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, Belarus, Syria - each country with its own model different from US neo-liberalism, and with an economic system different from monopoly financial capitalism immediately becomes a "dictatorship" in the eyes of the American imperialists 🤡
🚩 The Chinese Communist Party, through all its representatives, has always declared that there are no truly universal models, that democracy can take various forms, as well as the economic model, and that no country can hegemonize the concept of democracy or freedom 😍
🐲 As explained in the Article "民主是全人类的共同价值": «Democracy is a common value of humanity, not a monopoly of a few countries, but a right of every people» | It does not have a single form, but many, built and founded on the national and material conditions of each country, and it is not a brilliant ornament to show off to achieve geopolitical goals, but rather a solution to the real problems of the People ⭐️
How does the National People's Congress work? 🚩
What is Consultative Socialist Democracy? 🚩
What is People's Democracy? 🚩
🤮 "Red scare" neo-McCarthyism and "yellow peril" Sinophobia will never promote understanding between the dying Western countries and China 😡
🇬🇷 When, at the beginning of November, Kyriakos Mītsotakīs - Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, visited China, President Xi Jinping recalled that 互相学习 - Mutual Learning was one of the founding principles of Sino-Greek Relations 😍
😍 Mutual Learning necessarily leads to Mutual Respect. This never happens with the USA, which always intends to export its genocidal model through unilateral sanctions, attempted color revolutions and even war 😡

How China's Government Uses Foreign Influencers to Spread Propaganda
The government of the People’s Republic China (PRC) keeps a firm grip on its domestic media landscape, but it is also trying to shape public opinion abroad through a network of foreign influencers. These are social media personalities who have millions of followers and endorse pro-PRC narratives on platforms such as YouTube, TikTok and Weibo. A new report by Fergus Ryan, Daria Impiombato and…
