Etho/Bdubs - a kiss where it hurts / no longer hurts

A/N: this took so long aaaa!! i couldn't settle on something to write about so i hope this suffices <3

"I saw you hanging out with Joel over at Ravager Rush." Were the first words out of Bdubs' mouth. The second that Etho walked into the cottage on the hill and glanced into the kitchen, he spotted Bdubs sitting on the countertop, arms crossed.

"Yeah?" Etho prompted, beelining for the window so he could pull the curtains shut, careful not to knock over any of his boyfriend's meticulously-placed ornaments. Once all curtains were drawn and doors were shut, Etho reached up to pull his mask down around his chin, a sight reserved for Bdubs.

Speaking of, he heard rustling from the counter and turned to see Bdubs rummaging in a drawer underneath him. Etho headed over to lean on the counter beside Bdubs right as he fished a cereal bar out of the drawer and kicked it shut. He struggled to open it for a moment (Etho had no mask to hide his playful smile) before tearing the wrapper and biting into it.

"Yeh." Bdubs spoke with his mouth full. "Looked like you were havin' fun." Etho was about to shoot back a neutral reply, but Bdubs beat him to it, "Ever since the Life series, you have all these new friends."

"You jealous?" Etho hummed, laughing when Bdubs threw his hands in the air and looked away dismissively.

"Jealous? Who's jealous?" Bdubs huffed, taking another bite of his cereal bar as he still looked away. Etho spotted a moment of hesitation in his boyfriend, "You've just got all of these new friends and it's- it's great! And I'm all the way out here in this field, and it must be a pain to get over here to visit."

A silence spread in the kitchen. In the dim lighting, Etho could see the tiniest of shakes in Bdubs' hand which gripped the bar. When Bdubs vented like this, it was to Etho like a game of chess: you really had to get into his mossy little mind to figure out what he was actually talking about.

"You think I don't visit you enough?" Etho deduced after a moment, his suspicions confirmed by Bdubs looking back towards him, glassy-eyed.

"It's fine!" He exclaimed. "You have other friends! That's okay! I- Who cares? Not me!" Etho chuckled, reaching out a hand to hold Bdubs' face.

"You can be happy for me but still want me to hang out with you more." Etho laughed quietly, "We're both busy but I'll always make time for you. I can come over more."

In his hands like this, Bdubs looked like he might shatter.

"Oh, I feel bad now..." He mumbled, breaking eye contact and sniffing. Etho laughed again, more fond than anything.

"Don't." He settled, leaning forwards and gently kissing Bdubs. It took Bdubs a moment to kiss him back -- it was unsure and teary, but he managed.

"What'd I do to deserve you, ey?" Bdubs let out a watery laugh, lifting a hand to wipe his gathering tears. "Thanks."

WIP 1: OG Verse - fun times with Celeste & Gabriel

He has to resist the urge to throttle her, lest he ruin the inside of his house filled with years of carefully handpicked items, ones he held a certain fondness for. "You ruined my life, Celeste. Or do you not recall?” "Your life?" She tilts her head in mock curiosity. "What life? The one where you were sent anywhere they told you to go, like some mongrel with a barely slackened leash?" “Excuse me?" “We can pretend otherwise. Keep up the illusion that your life was marvelous, picture perfect even. But we both know the truth, don't we?" She takes a step closer. “You were nothing but the High Council’s defanged pup. Cluelessly doing their bidding before I freed you. If anything, you should be thanking me." "Thanking you?" He clenches and unclenches his fist in an attempt to suppress his anger. "Hate me if you must, fight me even, but do it later. Right now we must get out of here. If they do not know where I am yet, they soon will. What do you think will happen once they realize one of their precious dhamphirs has been under their nose this whole time?"

Unbidden worry strikes him. He listens, waits, and when his ears pick up the sound of soft, even breathing he lets out a breath of his own. Celeste and the baby were still there, unharmed, perhaps even sleeping. It brings an odd sense of comfort, reminiscent of times long forgotten, times he didn’t want to remember. If he did, he’d have to remember what brought them to a halt in the first place and he had a job to do. Grief and old wounds had no place here, at least not at the moment. Kicking his boots off, he treks into the bathroom and gently closes the door behind him. It’s a simple design: Shower to his left, toilet to his right, and a sink with a mirror above it directly across from the door. Leaning against the sink, he ruffles his short, black hair that's shaved on the sides and traces his fingers over an old, faded scar. It runs down almost the whole length of his face, going over his left eye and stopping just shy of the corner of his mouth. Overlapping it is another, only this one goes across his face horizontally, over the bridge of his nose and from cheek to cheek. The only thing that remains of the old Gabriel are his blue eyes, once full of life and mischief, now faded and dull. Turning away from his visage, he heads toward the shower and turns it on, stripping down while he waits for the water to heat up. He doesn’t need a mirror to see the multitude of scars and tattoos that adorn his body. Aching for another drink—if only to dull his senses and lingering memories once more—he curbs the yearning and steps beneath the water.

WIP 2: They Watch From The Pews

Willa squirms, trying to dodge cold fingers that reach out to trace over the letters, caressing them with a sadistic fascination that makes her stomach curdle in disgust. Disgust quickly transforms into a desperation to get away once he finally reveals the knife kept hidden behind his back. “Usually I’d peel the sin off but… I think this will suit you much better, don't you?" Pressing the tip of his blade into her skin, he teasingly drags it across her skin. "Tell me, Deputy, how did you feel when you got the news of Samuel's death?" "Chipper." She spitefully answers with a sneer. John heaves a dramatic sigh and presses the blade down harder, prompting tiny beads of blood to bubble up as he traces over the letters of her tattoo. "You can make this easier for yourself, you know." "I've heard that before. Got me a bullet to the leg." "Because you ran. My men only acted accordingly." "Fuck you and your men, pussy." "My, what a mouth on you." He tuts and makes a deeper cut. Her teeth sink into the leather in her mouth, denying him the satisfaction of hearing her make a noise. Without pause, he moves onto the second letter, brows scrunched up in concentration as he goes over the lines again and again. It isn’t until he’s on the last letter that she finally breaks with a muffled groan. He stops, lifting his eyes from his work. “Comfortable?”

John & Willa are bonding so well. Truly, I think they're starting to get along!

GrojBand Comeback Tour - Kate and Allie

(Note: Since I wanted all of the characters from the original show to play an actual integral part in this version, I had to really think up of an idea that justifies having GrojBand's #1 fans around all the time. Then it hit me, since I wanted this to be more in-line with the OG TDI, I can say that Kate and Allie is the camera crew that follows the band around and capturing their every movement for the biopic that Corey asked them to help make. Thus justifying all of Corey's fourth wall breaks, transitions, and other cartoon physics from the show as post production editing and special effects.)

Role: Both Kate and Allie are given the task to record and process all footage that relates to GrojBand. Corey wanted to create the longest Biopic ever made so that it captures all the pure awesomeness of the band's tour around the country. But instead of recreating the scenes and telling the story after its done, he wants to record it with real time and break bits of it into episodes.

Though their role is said to be the camera crew, as their #1 fans they felt that they needed more things to do for Grojband. So besides filming the band, they also act as the stage hands and handle all the quality checks, lighting, and stage props in all their performances.

Bio: Despite their energetic and chipper personalities now, both of the girls lived in pretty isolated and mundane lives before. Kate has a family that didn't quite hate her but didn't exactly love her either, and lived a very average life without any passion or interest in anything. Allie was a bit awkward around others due to her mostly living alone as her parents works overseas and only allowed to come home in the holidays. Both these girls didn't know each other at that point, but they did share one thing, they felt so alone and empty. But that was until one day both of them saw a peculiar blue-haired singer and his band rocking out in their garage. 

After just one session, they almost immediately became obsessed with the group, not just for the music but how they performed, they extruded a level of confidence and purpose that they never saw before. Sooner or later when attending one of their gigs, the girls eventually bump into each other and quickly became friends after finding the other's love for the band. The girls bonded and became closer than sisters, since then they dedicated their lives to GrojBand in gratitude for everything that they done for them (indirectly).

stories i om-nom-nom'd :: april 2024 (week 2)

I honestly didn't nom through too much because this week was mostly spent on my 'main' blog which is by the site's terms my side blog but let's be real, that's where I'm most active, it's my main blog 😤 Anyways, most of the week was spent reading through my friends' and fellow writers' stories and progressing my Tumblr TBR, writing my own stories, and also downloading and posting all the photos that came out this week from the events that Tom Hiddleston attended (legend has it, I'm still downloading).

The Antisocial Network

I wasn't expecting this to take the turn that it did, documenting the butterfly effect of the creation of 4chan and how it snowballed into January 6, 2021. I ended up liking this a bit more than I expected going in, but I also have a little bit of an opinion…some of these guys really shot themselves in the foot revealing themselves to be a part of Anonymous because now…well they're kinda the opposite 🥴

Quiet on Set: Breaking the Silence

The check in with the people that were interviewed felt like a necessary part of the entire process, but honestly…there was something in the vibe of this episode's execution that felt off to me. It was like the host was putting on a performance like they were filming in front of a studio audience and the tone just felt like it was too chipper if that makes sense? Like you're supposed to be checking in on them and asking them how they've felt since the documentary came out and how their lives have been since, so why are you sounding like you're reading them today's headlines? Like I can't believe I'm even saying this but Trisha Paytas did better--

It just felt a little heavy-handed to me, but I can get behind the concept of having this follow-up episode that addressed the absolute garbage fire of a video that Foot Man put out into the internet trying to do damage control but honestly should've just been titled "Dan Schneider digs his own grave even deeper for 20 minutes straight".

Delicious: True Love

Stage 5, Day 1: Emily arrives back home to her restaurant/apartment in Snuggford and the poor beb's so heartbroken and hyper-focused on that, that she doesn't even notice there's a big gaping hole in the middle of her restaurant, with a burst pipe making an accidental water fountain. Patrick only sees her going upstairs to unpack and assumes that her trip went well and basically declares to her family and her best friend that now that she's got her love and she's happy, there's no more reason for him to stay.

Dude no, we've officially entered idiots in love stage. 😩

The day ends with Emily sobbing the second her mom goes up and checks in on her. I'm gonna say one more time for good measure, if OG story Jean-Paul has zero haters, I am dead.

Stage 5, Day 2: Emily's parents are worried about her since she hasn't come back down from her apartment, and Francois gives her some tough love telling her to at least show up for work because he won't make excuses for her absence. Nothing much happens on this day, since she goes straight back upstairs when the shift's over, other than her mom Evelyn basically saying she should have meddled in the beginning by never giving her the letter to begin with.

All I'm gonna say is…remake Evelyn is definitely the better Evelyn 🥴

Stage 5, Day 3: Patrick reveals that he's moving to New York since his business is growing and the new shop's gonna need his attention. Then Angela, Emily's little sister, shows up with puppies and asks her all about Paris, which causes Evelyn to shout at Angela rather than just calmly tell her that it's a sensitive topic (Clear to see where Evelyn's playing favorites). Angela leaves the restaurant but instructs one of the puppies to stay behind with Emily, which kicks off our side quest for this level where we call back the pup when he strays from Emily's side.

The day ends with Emily keeping the pup with her for a day or two, and talking to her mom about what happened in Paris.

Stage 5, Day 4: The big hole in the middle of the restaurant's all fixed, and it's bringing in more foot traffic to the restaurant. Emily makes a note to call to have the floors polished, mentioning she likes the floral scent, and Francois tells her that Patrick's moving to New York. He also accidentally kickstarts the dreaded miscommunication trope because he said "something about someone needing his attention there".

Gotta love them himbo besties 🥴

Stage 5, Day 5: Emily gets to see more of Patrick's green flag status when he tends to a kid that hurt herself when she tripped, taking the kid's mind off the pain and giving her a little flower and doing a magic trick. Then he confirms with Emily that yes, he's moving to New York because "it's time to move on", and I wanna bonk some heads together all over again. Francois tells her that she and Patrick have been flirting for so long that it's like "watching the same car crash on repeat" and he tells his therapist about it sometimes, and then accidentally breaks the vase that Patrick put a rose he set aside for Emily in, scattering marbles all over the floor and giving us our side mission for this level.

The day ends with Emily turning down an offer for a girls night out, and holding on to the rose from earlier.

Stage 5, Day 6: We officially unlock this stage's Entertainer, which is Francois with Emily's new puppy from Angela. Not much happens other than at the end of the day, the previous owner of the restaurant Mr Farrell visits the place to reminisce, and he talks about his "one that got away" because he was a teenage boy that fapped over Marilyn Monroe (my words, not his). Then one day when he finally came to his senses, the girl already stopped showing up at the restaurant.

Stage 5, Day 7: Emily's heart's finally starting to heal and she wakes up realizing that her apartment's a total mess ever since she got home and started her one-woman misery party. She still has the rose from Patrick at the center of her living area, and she reads a card that basically boils down to "Emily babes wake up your true love's been right in front of you literally giving you flowers every day". Unfortunately, that last scene from the previous day feels like heavy-handed foreshadowing because Patrick says goodbye to Emily after giving her one last delivery of fresh flowers for the restaurant.

The day ends with Mr Farrell bidding Emily and his old restaurant goodbye since he's moving to Florida to stay with friends, and a regular customer Gladys walks in looking for her purse, and wouldn't you know, it's Mr Farrell's TOTGA, and she moved back to Snuggford after her husband passed away so she could be closer to family. This makes Mr Farrell decide that he doesn't wanna move to Florida anymore.

Undercover: Blood Bonds

Chapter 10: Vera clocks in for the morning shift and finds Bluejay in Club with her pajamas on, finding out that she doesn't have a place to stay so she's been sleeping in the backroom. Vera offers her to move in so she doesn't catch a case for breaking in. At the end of the shift, Jericho reveals he has mind control powers and he used them to make Crystal exit the room before he ordered Mr Smirnov to get rid of Vera because she's asking too many questions.

Chapter 11: Vera meets up with Hank at a pub called Smokin' Wheels, and he tells her that Mr Smirnov's on a mission to get her sacked. Lilly's ex boyfriend Sam shows up and Vera spends that shift trying not to get noticed by Sam. At the end of the shift, we get a flashback of Sam being overprotective but concerned about Lilly coming home late and he pulls the "you're mine" card, while Lilly walks away going "You don't know anything".

Pretty sure the cops are wrong that Sam's the culprit and it's actually Mr Mind Control with the glowy red eyes Jericho that they should be looking up.

He does occupy a good part of my thoughts about TMNT03 but i don't have a lot more to say about him since, as i said i'm not done with the serie yet oops but i know there's a lot of development to come as i have reached a very important part of the show (i believe i've been at the battle arena for a couple of episodes so far and usagi's there etc etc anyway)

I had a dream that I was nominated for Queer Eye and my cat died while Bobby was showing me the house (it wasn't even real but shout out to Bobby) and Jonathan went 'oh my goodness :( you poor sweet baby' (to me or to biscuit, I do not know) and then the camera guys looked over the footage and found that somehow he was visible in every shot so they couldn't use the footage. The camera guys left to go interview the next nominee and the Fab Five stayed around for lemonade out of pity for a while and then we hugged uncomfortably and they left too.

I don't call out specific Extreme Shippers and their straight out LIES very often anymore because it's more than OBVIOUS and CLEAR that Cait is married to Tony McGill, and they had their first child together...and the SamCait ship was a LIE all along. BUT...

I just got these screencaps in Twitter DM of an old time Extreme Shipper who, not only refuses to accept the TRUTH, but is still trying to SPREAD lies about the faux ship. Not sure what purpose there is now, except to be cruel and lead newbies on, or rile up OG shippers with false hope. But it was too easy to disprove what she's saying, so I'm taking a few minutes out of my Sunday and doing just that.

Extreme Shipper, Cathy used to be what I call a Pollyanna Extreme Shipper. She's been around for years and used to be all sunshine and rainbows. She was one of those shippers that had the attitude: "lalalala, I don't seeeee anything, I don't heeeeear anything" that went against the ship." There was no rocking her boat back in the day. But I guess something changed once Cait actually married Tony and Not Sam, and now she's gone from Chipper Cathy to Bitter Betty. She posts negative stuff any chance she gets and worse, she's trying to FOOL newbies or revive old Shippers' hopes. Not cool, and sad she wants to set up people to continuously be disappointed.

WRONG. There WERE pics and video in 2014 and early 2015 showing Cait with Tony and those were BEFORE the pics she’s referencing of Cait with Sam. 👇 In 2014, I posted on my old Twitter account, that I had a Tony family source--someone who knew his family from Glasgow (her brother went to school with Tony) and that this source had told me Cait was dating Tony McGill. My info went viral and I was attacked mercilessly by Extreme Shippers, everyone doubted it was true. And then we got picture and video PROOF that I was telling the truth and Cait was indeed dating Tony McGill and not Sam. Below, is a pic of Cait and Tony at the airport in 2014. My source told me that Cait spent Christmas 2014 in London with Tony and his dad (Tony was living in London for years at the time and owned a bar/live music venue in Islington, London called The Library and then later he opened a second one adjacent, called The Reading Room). After Christmas in London, Cait and Tony went to Cait’s native Ireland to spend New Year’s with her family and friends.

And here is a screencap of the infamous “lapman” video, where Cait is sitting on Tony’s LAP, joyfully playing, while he taps her hips to the beat. I mean, you’d have to be BLIND to not see that look of love and that smile on his face. That’s NO “assistant” I’ve ever seen. 👇

And LOOK, BOTH Tony’s hands are firmly on her hips and butt. Again, not very “assistant” like, and definitely not “gay assistant” like...more like VERY MUCH BOYFRIEND like...👇 And now HUSBAND.

In 2014, I posted my Tony family source info, THEN the pics and video posted above of Tony and Cait came out and proved I was telling the truth. MY source info AND those pics and videos WERE out there for ALL to see WAY before the pics Cathy is referencing came out.  Look at the dates 👇  

If you look at the pics above WITHOUT Shipper Goggles on, all you will see is two good friends and costars hanging out together, hiking with a sibling. Look closely, Cait and Sam aren’t even hugging, Cait’s arms are around her sister, Anne-Marie, NOT Sam. This is friends’ pic. Nothing more. 

Then, in February 2015, Cait leaves Los Angeles briefly and flies to London to support Tony for the opening of his second bar in Islington, London--The Reading Room. 👇 She spends Valentine’s Day in London as well. The new bar is an absinthe bar (a type of strong liquor) and Cait uses a play on words: “Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder,” instead of “Absence makes the heart grow fonder.” Gee, WHOSE absence was she referring to? Why, Tony of course, since she hadn’t seen him since January for New Year’s. Cait hasn’t been hiding anything, all the info has been out there for all to SEE...but you have to have your eyes and minds open and not be wearing Shipper Googles. Simple as that. 

After her visit to Tony in London, Cait returns to Los Angeles. Up until then, she had been living in L.A. in a condo with her roommate and friend Simon Kassianides. So, for the pic below of Cait joining Sam on the L.A. Marathon route in March of 2015 👇 it’s because her condo was RIGHT by where the L.A. Marathon ran. The only reason she ran out to take a pic with Sam and say hi and show her support in person was because he was literally running by her condo. It was not a big effort for her to be there. Again, a very FRIENDS thing to do. It’s only shippers who made it “proof” of Sam and Cait’s “epic love.”

And guess what else Cathy is ignoring? The fact that in the Spring of 2015, Jess, the ex-Queen of the Shippers sent her then best friend, I’ll call her “K,” to Tony’s bar in London. “K’s sole purpose in going to Tony’s bar was to try to prove that my source info about Cait dating Tony was wrong. Weeellll, much to Jess and ALL shippers’ SUPRISE, “K” talked to people who worked at Tony’s bar, showed them a pic of Cait and found out “yeah, that’s Tony’s girlfriend.”  In shock, “K” went back to the shipper leader fold and reported on her findings. Long story short. Jess and the other shippers treated “K” like crap, bullied her, and ultimately banished her from shipperville, simply for doing what they asked of her, and for her ultimate sin, finding out the TRUTH and posting it PUBLICLY. 

In summary, Extreme Shippers have been LYING for 8 years and CONTINUE to LIE now. I know with 100% certainty through my insider sources that Cait and Sam were NEVER romantically involved, no, not even once. The SamCait ship was never real. The TRUTH is out there with plenty of PROOF. Don’t buy into what the few remaining drowning Extreme Shippers try to sell you, it is a LIE.

Alright, and I am back with another update! But first, some stuff a friend noticed in the first few pages and mentioned to me that I didn’t take in when I went over them on my own the first time:

The park they’re in as kids is pretty close to the apartment complex Izuku and his mom live in! Considering that said apartment complex is right there in the background. Which probably isn’t a huge thing, but a neat thing to note.

The age these kids manifest their quirks at seems to be more preteen / teenage years, though I don’t know whether that’s just because it is later activation or because there were (subtle) quirks before that, with the glowing baby just being the one that had people sit up and realize something was actually going on.

Endeavor ad! And it has the time of that event that day, too - 8:14 AM! I wonder what he’s advertising… or perhaps it’s a news report? An interview of some kind? It might just be a ‘breaking news, we got Endeavor on our channel’ sort of thing. The only part that I can read is the first three katakana for the biggest text, which is ‘E-n-de’ and matches the wiki’s katakana for ‘Endeavor’. If anyone can get a good enough look at the smaller text in order to tell me what the rest says, I would appreciate it!

Just a few things, but obviously I need to up my observation game if I want to catch all this stuff!

[No. 1 - Midoriya Izuku: Origin]

So now we’re at Aldera / Orudera Junior High, with Izuku’s class being in their last year before high school. Since Japan’s schools start on the second week of April, we know this has to be that first week of school, because Katsuki’s still 14 and his birthday is April 20th, which would almost always be the third week of April / second week of school. 

What is that writing stance. You are going to have an old man’s back by the time you graduate high school. I mean, I wouldn’t know anything about that personally, cough cough…

Anyways! We get a look at Izuku’s class and their quirks, and what a collection. Also, with an attitude like that, no wonder this school is seen as bad, like, what the fuck dude. Not exactly a competent homeroom teacher, are you?

The ones that I can see, from leftmost row to rightmost row, are [1] floating hair, stretchy fingers, dark matter, [2] smokey arms, spike fists, stretchy eyes, frog throat, some sort of flash/illumination quirk, [3] rocky body, ???, stretchy neck, flamethrower arms, extra arms, [4] sharp hair, big chompers, wedge face, [quirkless], mouth face (seen in the next panel and holy FUCK new sleep paralysis demon), [5] horns, telekinesis, [explosion], buff bod, ???, [6] wind control, ???

WHY.

But yeah, this also establishes the first rule of ‘don’t use quirks in school’ thing that… also gets promptly ignored the several other times we see stuff set in this school. Which, what a shock, people sort of sliding around inconvenient rules.

Anyways, Katsuki has proven that he hasn’t changed since those first few childhood panels way back (checks) ten pages ago. And Izuku is being… very shy and trying to avoid drawing attention. But no shaking, particularly, just… wallflower mode, more like.

But yeah, Katsuki is not exactly on great terms with the rest of the class, who are rightfully pissed off at him treating them rudely and calling them extras. Though honestly, I’m surprised that they’re surprised he’s aiming for UA, it’s not like he wouldn’t have been obvious about that for, like, years at this point. You’d think they’d all roll their eyes and be like ‘yeah yeah we’ve heard this spiel before’ or something. IDK.

Oh man, and Izuku already KNOWS what’s coming, look at how he’s hiding his face!

Katsuki is, of course, Fucking Extra and hops on his desk, and gets right into bragging, where, AGAIN, this should have been stuff this class has known about for ages, why are they so shocked?? And huh, interesting, he’s not only interested in surpassing All Might, but also in being one of the richest people in the world. Wow, I cannot even with him, especially knowing he lives in this house in particular:

Which, it should be clear, is an EXPENSIVE lifestyle when most families live in modest apartments because of space being so valuable in Japan. 

God this is a fantastic image. I wanna frame it on a wall somewhere. Hori managed to convey all the emotions in one face and I admire the man for it. 

With the whole class laughing, there’s a thing I want to note that fandom seems to not pay attention to: they note that Izuku gets good grades! I’ve seen fics that basically have him forced to sabotage his own grades to avoid getting backlash, but like… no, I don’t think that’s actually a thing. 

[Also an aside, we finally see one more class quirk, which seems to be some sort of bulked up arm? It looks a bit like mummy bandages, as far as I can tell.]

Izuku gets into defending himself, saying there’s no precedent, but he IS defending himself against them, so again, he’s not cowering as much as some people seem to think he does based on fics, and clearly he’s still willing to stand up for himself to some degree. 

...then of course, Katsuki blows up Izuku’s desk and sends Izuku sprawling. And is pissed that Izuku apparently thinks he, who is quirkless, can somehow be on the same level as Katsuki. Izuku swears up and down that it’s not about Katsuki, that he just really wants to try, and this somehow pisses Katsuki off even more. 

I want you all to remember this image - save it on your computers, bookmark this post, whatever you need to do. We’ll come back to it in, oh (checks watch) about 284 chapters. Or maybe sooner in a separate post where I can put it under read more and avoid spoiling people more than this does. Because DAMN can I gush on this moment.

Anyways, we have a change of scene, right after noon, with a thief with a sludge transformation and,,,,,,,, legs and pants,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Where the fuck did those pants go, sir. Sir. What the fuck, sir.

Also, we get our first meeting with the OG dad, the sunflower man himself, who blooms into 255 kilos of muscle in one panel. Also, man I forgot about the fucking giraffe neck Hori used to draw him with, holy heck, why are you so l o n g.

L O N G.

...right, anyways, back to the school, which is apparently over for the day. The rest of the class is heading out, and Izuku’s back to his chipper self, even humming a happy note as he grabs his notebook-

Before Katsuki nabs it from his hands. There are a few people who’ve hung back who notice the title and pick fun at izuku, so I guess Izuku actually… doesn’t talk about his desire to be a hero that much in middle school, if the others are all so surprised about it. He apparently doesn’t even make his notebooks obvious to them, since this is the first time any of them seem to be seeing it. Which I mean, it makes sense if the class will tease him for it, but like. Even with Katsuki stealing the book, Izuku’s not super panicked or having a nervous breakdown.

But yeah, Katsuki just blasts the book, but! It’s just the cover singed (and edges) when we know he could have demolished that book entirely. Again, he’s definitely being a bully and a jerk here, but he’s got way more self-control than fandom likes to assume. 

Izuku’s upset because of his damaged notebook, and Katsuki just huffs and throws it out the window while saying he’s gonna be the only kid from Aldera to go to UA. And Izuku, EVEN WHILE STRESSING, thinks of him as vain for thinking that way! That’s not the first thought of someone too terrified to do anything.

Edit: As pointed out to me in [this post], it was Katsuki’s crony who was thinking of him as vain, not Izuku. My bad!

Also note the lack of damage to Izuku’s school uniform. I know I’ve seen fics where there’s a hole made and a burn scar left that Izuku has to tend to, but Katsuki, again, has not directly used his quirk against Izuku. We’ve never seen it, just the smoke and flash used for intimidation. I’m getting more and more confident that Katsuki has never actually used his quirk against a person, which I’m probably gonna get a bit more into during the battle training in a few chapters.

But yeah, the cronies / extras basically call Izuku lame and that he can’t face reality. And then we get this scene:

That’s not the face of someone afraid. That’s Izuku’s determined face.

Izuku is about to stand up to Katsuki again. The way he always has, the way he always will. There has never been a point in the series where Izuku has NOT stood up to Katsuki when he feels it matters, and that’s part of the reason Katsuki is so pissed with him every time he does - because Izuku REFUSES to see his place! Not once!

(Please, for the love of god, respect the Izuku who didn’t need a quirk to stand up to others. Who isn’t ‘broken’ or ‘terrified’ of Katsuki or anything like that. He’s a stubborn kid and we Stan That.)

Izuku, however, is not confident enough in this situation to want to press the issue, so he relents and says nothing when Katsuki prods him to escalate things. And then we immediately get to the ‘you idiot, don’t fucking suicide bait!’ but you can tell it’s been a stressful few moments for him. 

So yeah, the summary of this section is ‘Izuku is not an uwu suffering babey, and Katsuki is way more restrained than people seem to think.’ 

I’m cutting it off here since, again, we got a lot of info and character examination, and honestly this whole chapter is a long ass one (55 pages!!!!) and it’s establishing the entire setting from the ground up. And honestly, I’m just vibing in being Right about how I’ve been viewing the characters at the start of the series… even if i am guilty of sometimes playing with fanon for my own means…

Razeluxe’s Top Ten Female Characters

Yep. It’s here. A list of my all time favorite ladies in anime/video games. This list was way harder for me than the male version, after compiling my favorites I had like 20 characters so I had to cut it down... I will shout them out somewhere further down towards the end...warning you right now that this is long...I have a lot of thoughts about these characters and I did my utmost to avoid outright posting spoilers - enjoy!

10) Bianchi (Katekyo Hitman Reborn!)

Once again someone from Reborn makes the list. What can I say, they have great characters and omg Bianchi is incredible. She’s Gokudera’s sister that I was harping about on the male list...she develops from this hyper focused girl to a true mother figure who helps care for her group as well as being a mother figure to some of the younger girls. Later on in the series she’s very attentive and always knows the right things to say...she gave some advice to some of the girls about men, especially in one particular episode that I will not mention but if you know it you know it - I was floored with on the nose she is about things...she can read people and situations extremely well and she serves as like this backbone to her group...there’s stuff between her and her brother that are extremely interesting too - this girl despite being there for others has this considerable weight on her that she tells her brother about at the end of the series - Bianchi is a complicated character who really deserves more love - she doesn’t fight often in this anime but she has proven time and time again that you don’t always have to be out on the front lines in an shounen anime to be a great character and also...she’s hot.

9) Emma Millstein (Trails of Cold Steel)

Emma in ways is similar to Bianchi here, being a mother figure as well as President of Class VII but what I find interesting about her character is what she’s hiding, as well as her insecurities. She spends a really long time hiding things because reasons I will not mention because you need to play the series - when she comes out with what she needs to say she really grapples with her feelings as well as her inferiority complex when she compares herself to her sister. She grows though..man does she grow...she starts to believe in who she is and stops doubting herself as hard and she really shines later on in the series. When you see what she can do... Like I said in the other list I have yet to play the fourth game in the series which is coming soon and I know she plays a major part. I also think she’s a great fit for Rean.

8) Velvet Crowe (Tales of Berseria)

Velvet is a character that has an extremely strong drive, comparable to someone that is yet to come on this list. Velvet is betrayed by someone who has raised her and her heart turns cold and she is motivated by hatred and vengeance for the sake of those who were massacred by this person. Velvet is a raw character whose type is rarely explored in this way, the way her personality shifted from being more upbeat and chipper initially to, post hell breakout, using people to get forward in her goals without giving an fudge. There comes a time when her resolution to revenge falters once something happens, anger and sorrow come together and she makes some interesting decisions...Velvet is a morally gray person whom showcases real struggles and real feelings that I’m able to relate to on a personal level...Velvet knows grief and in a world of black and white, she makes mistakes as a result of her PTSD, some more fatal than others and eventually, she learns. It’s ugly to see, but she learns. Her development is unpleasant to watch compared to a lot of characters, however as a result in my opinion she’s one of the most raw/realistic characters in the Tales of Series currently. I said it. Also she’s hot.

7) Rise Kujikawa (Persona 4)

Here’s a girl I wasn’t expecting to put here. Rise is a girl who is also known as Risette and decides to take a break from showbiz by moving to a small town, going to school, working at her family’s business, you know, doing what she considered to be normal girl things. She is very upfront when it comes to her flirting which I like to think is because of her position as a famous idol. She’s really bubbly and animated, but what made me interested in Rise was her voice and her eyes when you first meet her. She looked and sounded empty...and you learn it’s because she sick and tired of portraying this ‘Risette’ character and not being herself. What I like about Rise is after running away from this persona for so long she eventually acknowledges Risette is also her and she makes the choice to only bring her true self to the public. She’s sassy and just has this ability to brighten an entire room. Originally I favored Yukiko in P4 and while I still do like her a lot, after going through Rise’s social link, well...the rest is history. 

6) Milla Maxwell & ‘Fractured’ Milla (Tales of Xillia)

Yep. Both of them. I know they’re different characters however I acknowledge both of them equally and they’re both deserving of this spot on this list.

Starting with Milla Maxwell, what I love about her is her drive. She knows who she is and is willing push herself to fufill her duty. She’s not unlike Velvet who turns away from her emotions to do what she sets out to do, considering emotions to be a distraction from her mission. Made her instantly relatable to me. It makes her come off as uncaring towards other people but her mission is strictly to protect the people in the world. I’ve always imagined Milla as this literal pillar of strength, like when she loses mobility in her legs, she pushes herself even further, nearly killing herself in the process. Heck if you thought Velvet was crazy determined, I mean she is but Milla in my opinion is on a whole other level. What I love about Milla is that she isn’t portrayed as a character who has to second guess or experience things before resolving herself to a choice, she is born with this innately and she does not waver no matter what. She’s not a conventional Tales character who bonds super well with everyone. She has her mission and she’s out to do it. Milla isn’t perfect and her opinion on people is for lack of better word, immature, but she grows to understand people throughout her journey.

Fractured Milla...this character is rife with pain and guilt. This Milla is basically an Alternate Universe version of the actual Milla...on the surface level she’s very aggressive but she carries a different weight compared to the original Milla...she bares a guilt about what happened to another character and her world...she also bears a guilt when it comes to her comparing herself to the original Milla and.. inhibiting the original Milla Maxwell from existing... What I love about Fractured Milla is that she’s a completely different take on a character that I already greatly enjoy, she has her development and her vulnerabilities which the OG Milla didn’t need as much because spoilers, Maxwell stuff. I love her relationship with Elle and Ludger and definitely approve of the LudgerxFractured Milla ship.

Holy Crap this list is getting long, if you need to take a break please do! I’ll wait...you good? Okie doke! Continuing on...

5) Estelle Bright (Trails in the Sky)

I love Estelle so dang much. She’s such a glowing character and a breath of fresh air. She’s tomboyish, she collects sneakers, she’s incredibly headstrong and boy does this girl have a mouth on her lol. Like look at all my Estelle stuff on my tags lol. Oh, I should mention she’s Joshua’s ‘brother’ so you can imagine all sorts of interactions with her hotheadedness and his calm and collectedness. Estelle is such a caring character though, like out of everyone I know in the Trails series, I think Estelle ranks the highest in terms of kindess alone. She doesn’t hide crap for the most part, until...well...oh I’m just gonna say it: she develops and hides her feelings for Joshua. She knows it isn’t right but she can’t help herself...anyway Estelle has this naive outlook when it comes to the world, but when certain heavy things happen Estelle kind of...wakes to the realities of the world and she changes her line of thinking. She becomes more considering of her options during situations for starters and she really starts to become the Bracer she wants to be. I was kind of floored how she allowed her pain and her source of affection (Joshua) to empower her to become a stronger person without being simply lovestruck like how people tend to write ladies. She umm...has this scene with Joshua in SC...and I’m not saying anything more but it to me it’s probably one of her highest signs of development. I’m truly happy with what Falcom has done with this character and I think she’s probably the most developed character in the entire Trails series.

4) Rem (Re: Zero)

I never in my thought I would put a character I only just met this high on my list but wow this character blows me away. Rem is a character who has a major inferiority complex to her sister alongside guilt, yet as a maid she performs her duties and speaks very...proper even though that’s typically not how she truly feels. She’s also a very wary person...one reason she’s so high on this list is because of episode 18 how Subaru gives her a reason to live and fought to save her from herself literally. She becomes this incredibly devoted character towards this goofball Subaru with such tenacity that I have seldom seen. She also falls in love with him and not just because he saved her. Eventually she confesses her feelings at one of Subaru’s lowest points but not due to selfishness. She encourages him through her confession because he failed to stop to realize how much he’s worth to her. She displays a lot of strength in her confession and I think this is one of the most well done confession scenes I’ve ever seen period, even with her insert song playing in the background. That said I’ve only seen up to episode 18 because I honestly don’t know how much better Re: Zero can get from this point. I mean I’ll watch it eventually but I’m in love with these first dozen episodes so much I need an emotional break with all the heartache and the darkness .-. Before I list the top three, like my male list I want to at least some other ladies that also did not get into Smash but are still worth mentioning as characters I really like and enjoy, no order here except for the first character because she is hot. Literally. No pictures or additional text here sadly, I mean look how long this post is I don’t even know if all of this will fit ;__;

  3) Sara Valestein (Trails of Cold Steel)

Sara leads off the top three. She’s initially Rean’s instructor. She has a sense of humor, loves all things drinking, and is lax on her instructor duties...for the most part. There’s a lot of backstory involving this character that I won’t pile on here but I will say that despite her goofy nature Sara is ridiculously strong and it always amazes me how someone like Sara be so silly and not only be so stupid strong but also have her own moniker known around the world as ‘The Purple Lightning’. She was initially a top ranked Bracer before becoming a teacher. You eventually learn about her past through Rean and how it isn’t always all as happy go lucky as her personality...what I really like about Sara is how her strength is the culmination of all the things she went through. There’s one scene in CS1 where she tells some of her students that if they don’t like her assignments for a school trip, they’re free to team up and beat her to get her to change her mind. Needless to say they got their butts handed to them.

2) Garnet Til Alexandros (Final Fantasy IX)

Zidane’s other half. Considering I write Zidane I’d like to call her Dagger from this point on if you don’t mind .-. (Dagger is her own decided alias based on Zidane’s weapon)  I really love how she can break the norms of your stereotypical princess. When Zidane firsts meets her she’s chasing her down in her castle and she’s trying to leave her castle, something she mentioned had actively trained to do. And she’s leaving because she’s trying to resolve an issue with her mother... Dagger is a very strong character who has no issue taking matters into her own hands when it comes to issues. Holy crap what she does to Zidane at one point...she’s a bold one. She feels really strongly and she goes through a lot of crap, but she comes out stronger for it. She wasn’t one with much experience for the outside world but she takes to it at levels that the well traveled Zidane did not expect...I don’t want say much because of spoilers but she really finds herself as she journeys and goes from strength to strength, really owning her responsibilities. She’s also the main person who helps Zidane in one of his lowest moments... In my opinion these are just some of the many reasons Zidane falls for her more than any other girl...she’s also a Summoner and I love me some Summoners. She and Zidane also go great together and their relationship builds properly in a way that makes sense. Definitely one of my favorite ladies period.

1) Aurica Nestmile (Ar Tonelico: Melodies of Elemia)

Number one is this lovely lady. Aurica is a Reyvateil, Reyvateils are people who have the ability to convert sounds into energy...all Reyvateils are assigned a rank according to how powerful their ability is. Aurica had it rough, being out of her hometown when it was attacked and destroyed, and she took the blame herself, believing she could have made a difference, being a Reyvateil and all...because of all of this she became very withdrawn and her abilties suffered...she was ranked ‘D’ which is one of the lowest classes of Reyvateils. She was picked on and treated like garbage because of her rank...she did make a friend though, a friend that was also a Revytail, one that everyone liked and one Aurica looked up to, which only made her look like more of a shadow than anything else...which did not help her already lacking confidence and low esteem. She has a literal hole in her heart and is emotionally dependent.

I mention all of that because this character for me is extremely relatable to me, she’s had it pretty rough however in terms of development you see her grow like crazy...before she was so deathly scared of people she would instantly shut herself down and repress herself but with some help from her partner Lyner she gets better and starts to believe in herself more...it’s not easy for her though, as she gets stronger and Lyner trusts her with more responsibility she gets attacked through the hole in her heart and her newly built confidence gets shattered and she starts believing she’s defective, that only defective Revytail have these holes in their heart...what I love about Aurica’s story is how real her issues with building up confidence are, she starts from practically ground zero and over time, through a repeat of this vicious cycle I described, goes from being considered one of the weakest Revytail to the strongest 3rd generation Revytail all because someone believed in her. 

I think out of both my male and female lists, Aurica was the only one to make me burst into tears at random points. (not gonna lie Rem came close but she’s not number one here :P) This girl here is one of the firsts ladies I ever connected to in my earlier naive years and back then I didn’t even think it was possible for me to relate to a female this much...

If you got to the end, you deserve a cookie. -offers chocolate chip cookie- This took a lot of thought to write out, there’s so many great characters and I look forward to encountering even more down the road. I may eventually do a list for couples...here’s hoping I won’t have to edit this...

Marvel Hero Academia

To me, there’s no question that Marvel let their own iteration of My Hero Academia drop the ball utterly several times over in both the X-Men and the Avengers franchises.  New X-Men: Academy X, and Avengers Academy both had their wonderful casts put through a wood chipper for the benefit of other, more established characters time and again, like meta-narrative Elizabeth Bathorys seeking the blood of children to maintain their youth. 

But while pondering that I had the reverse thought: Structure Marvel like the schools in My Hero Academia. If they are so intent on keeping kids young, might as well do it throughout.

Now, there are a LOT of Marvel characters who fit the definition of what Marvel considered more or less a “Teen” character.  And that definition is:

“Spider-Man’s age or younger.”

Which opens up, by what I’ve been able to count, almost 1200 characters/small groups.  Ignoring all the explicit villains, this drops down to just under 1000. 960 to be exact.  With an average of 20 kids to an MHA classroom, that’s still enough for 48 classrooms. So, we got to subdivide this.

First, we have the Avengers Academy: a school for Avengers and other non-mutant heroes. 

Then we have the X-Men, the OG School for heroes in the Marvel Universe.

But even with 4 grades and 2 classes to a grade, that only covers 160 students. We’re going to need more.   First, let’s expand these a bit.

First, the Avengers are being split into East and West Coasts.

Then, the X-Men are being split into Blue and Gold or Xavier and Grey campuses. 

That bumps us u,p to 640.

And like that we’re 2/3rds of the way there.  Let’s look at the other schools to see what we have.  Each one by itself has the potential to add at least 20 more students.

First up is the Future Foundation.  This is a school more for super science types than just those with powers in comparison to the others. This is a very small, private school by comparison to all the others.

Mid Town High/Brooklyn Visions Academy/Horizon High - This school would be used for Spider-Man related characters and Defenders.  Street level New York heroics. I sort of like to think of it as the “Public” option compared to the more exclusive Avengers, X-Men, and Future Foundation work.  

Camp Hammond is the R.O.T.C. of Superhero Schools. A Military School through and through.

Moreso than probably even the SHIELD Academy, which is more about Agents than Supers, but I’m going to mention it anyway.

Then there’s also Sotomayor University.  The series it comes from is kind of a mess, but it has to be mentioned. 

From there, I’m going to bring in other international schools as well as aside mention from the video game “Avengers Academy”. 

First is the Cosmic Conservatory, which shall cover space and related characters.

Deeper in space lies the Imperial Guard Training Facility for the Shi-Ar Empire.

The British Isles are covered by the Braddock Academy. They may get more from elsewhere in Europe and possibly Canada to fill out the ranks.  Canada may have their own school in the form of Gamma Flight/Weapon X

The Wakandan School For Alternative Studies is beyond normal advanced Wakandan education, but definitely brings in supers from across Africa, as well as sorcerers.

The Pan-Asian School for the Unusually Gifted covers eastern Asia and India -- which seems to be a bit much just in a geographic sense, and I prefer the term “Atlas Academy” because it is a subsidiary of the Atlas Foundation.

The Atilan Academy serves the Inhumans of Atilan. 

The University of Atlantis and Latverian School of Science (or “Victor Von Doom Institute for Gifted Youths”) do lean more towards villain schools but are worth mentioning as they are more morally ambiguity. 

And then there’s the Red Room. It trains more than Widows.  It also trains Ursa Majors.

(As an aside, the 239 villains could easily be distributed through the many villain schools: Osborn Academy/Oz Academy/Osborn Private Science Institution, AIM Institute, a Hydra School (”Baron Zemo’s School for Superior Students” is a much better name), and the Hellfire Academy.  Though not enough to fill them all out, mooks and younger versions of classic foes can easily go here to fill in the ranks.)  

This is more than enough by a wide margin to cover all the known students and then some.  Let’s drop some. 

The Future Foundation is basically a single class (20 students) at best. That’s 660.

Horizon High has a pretty solid foundation, but only provides 4 grades as a single school, possibly only one class per grade. That’s 740. 

Camp Hammond and SHIELD Academy are too similar not to mix, so that’s another One Class per Grade group of 80 students.  That’s 820. 

We can Drop Sotomayor because of just how off it was from everything else.

Cosmic Conservatory and Imperial Guard Training can be mixed easily enough.  Another 1 class per Grade.  That brings us to 900.

Internationally, there are going to be a LOT of blank spaces,  but with Braddock Academy gobbling up Canada, and Atilan & Atlantis being empires of their own, that still leaves 3 schools to cover the remaining 60 students (approximately). So, again, 1 class per Grade.  Each getting 20.

Edit 2: This doesn’t go into details because ... as laid out, there are a lot of gaps to fill (and way to many X-Students than you’d think there’d be), but this does give a rough estimate of what’s going on.
