The Christmas atmosphere seemed to permeate the entire estate as you and Bucky were finally reunited after a decade apart. The festively decorated room glowed with the warm glow of candlelight, while the cheerful murmur of the guests and the tantalizing smell of Christmas treats filled the air. You didn't want to go to the party at first, but now you're glad you did.
Then, quite unexpectedly, you catch sight of Bucky in the hustle and bustle, and your breath is taken away. He may have aged a little, and he doesn't look like he did when you were a kid, but you'd still recognise him.
Your eyes met and for that moment time seemed to stand still. A hint of nervousness mingled with joyful excitement as you both came to a halt and finally, after so many years, you both walked towards each other and embraced.  Immediately, a feeling of security, love and the feeling that you have both been longing for for years washed over you both. The crackling of Christmas music and the soft rustling of wrapping paper set the scene for your reunion.
"It feels surreal to see you again after all these years," you confessed as you retreated to a comfortable couch.
Bucky nodded in agreement. "Time has changed so much, but at this moment it feels like we were never apart."
"It's like time has stopped," Bucky said as they both looked at the festively decorated room.
You smiled. "Sometimes it feels like we've never been apart."
Bucky nodded in agreement. "Time has changed a lot, but some things never do."
You both began to reminisce. Your words are like brush strokes painting the picture of your past years. You talk about the ups and downs, the milestones and the lessons life has taught you. Between sentences, you both felt the familiarity of your stories and the invisible thread that connected your hearts.
"It wasn't easy to forget you," Bucky said with a smile that reflected years of longing. "I kept looking for you, even though I knew you had expanded the city."
"You were always a part of me," you replied quietly. "There wasn't a day when I didn't think of our time together.”
The conversation deepened, and with each passing moment the room seemed to vibrate with the intensity of their emotions. As they walked out into the garden, a thin layer of snow covered the ground and the clear night was streaked with a sea of twinkling stars.
"Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if we hadn't parted ways," you said, your eyes fixed on the snowy landscape.
Bucky put his hand gently on your shoulder. "Maybe we're exactly where we're supposed to be, here and now."
The silence of the garden was broken by a soft snowfall that fell from the sky like tiny crystals. Under the mystical light of the moon, they realised that the magic of Christmas lay not only in the festive decorations, but also in the rediscovery of love and connection.
"It's amazing how a night like this can bring back memories," you remark, your eyes fixed on the twinkling stars.
Bucky agrees. "Maybe it's the little miracles that remind us of what really matters."
The sparks between them turned into bright fireworks, and they knew that this Christmas night was not only a reunion, but also a new beginning.
Under a twinkling starry sky, they exchanged stories and glances. The warmth of their words pierced the cold night and they felt that this reunion was more than just a chance meeting. It was an opportunity to honour the past while forging a new path into the future.
Hand in hand, they walked the snowy path to the future, enriched by the knowledge that sometimes the greatest gift of love is the ability to rediscover it, even after a long journey of separation.
After all these years, you are finally reunited and you are glad that you accepted the unknown invitation too the Feast, because it was the only way to get back the love of your life.

My sister: is a third of a cup bigger than half a cup?
Me: if you cut something in three, are the pieces bigger than if you cut it in half?
Sister: you don't have to be a fucking asshole all the time.
Later
Sister: my measuring cups are missing! I still can't find my half cup! All I have is a third cup!
Me: a third plus half a third is one half
Sister: mom, will you tell him to leave me the fuck alone?

"INDIANS ON ST. PETER'S RESERVE ENJOY A FEAST," Winnipeg Tribune. December 31, 1913. Page 1. --- All Over Fifty Years of Age Entertained-Winnipegger Doing Good Work ---- For several years a number of friends living in Winnipeg of the Indians on St. Peter's Reserve have given them a dinner at Christmas time. This year the annual treat was given yesterday in the Dynevor Indian hospital building. Invitations were sent to all the Indians on the reserve over 50 years of age, and about one hundred and twenty were present. Owing to the beautiful weather preparations were made for a large number and about five hundred pounds of turkey, about one hundred pounds of plum pudding and cases of apples, oranges, noile of candy were sent to the reserve, where willing hands were ready to prepare them.
As the time for dinner approached, it was soon noticed that the committee had not made too elaborate preparations, for Indians were seen coming from all directions - in all sorts conveyances - old men and of women, who had not ventured out of their homes all winter, were seen hobbling along - who were interesting to talk to of the events of seventy years ago. Many of them are now on the eve of ninety years old; some walked twelve and fifteen miles to be present, anticipating a repetition of the good things they received in past years; others came in dog sleds from Lake Winnipeg. Each Indian, in addition to getting a splendid dinner, was given a pound of tea, a plug of tobacco, a bag of candy and oranges, apples and nuts to take home to their families.
After the dinner was over the whole party were shown over the hospital, where there are at present sixteen patients, and speeches were made by Chief Wm. Asham and Councillor Wm. Harper, expressing their appreciation of the the very excellent work done by Miss Gill, the superintendent, and Mrs. Kerr, her assistant, in relieving their people from their sufferings and the splendid appearance of the hospital, and they gave especial thanks to Mesdames Canon Murray, R. McFarlane and J. G. Dagg for preparing the splendid feast they had just partaken of. Especial mention was made of Dr. Steep, who had been medical attendant to the Indians for the past fifteen years, for his interest in the Indians.
Appreciative addresses were also made by Rev. L. LeRond, Anglican clergyman, of the reserve, Rev. Mr. Mayse, the Baptist minister, and Mr. J. R. Bum, inspector of Indian agencies. About fifteen ladies and gentlemen from the city were present and they are loud in their praises of the pleasure given the old Indians. [More about St. Peter's here.]

Tabletop Tuesday: US Christmas Feast
The Christmas Feast is an important part of many cultures. For this festive Tabletop Tuesday, I’ll focus on a traditional Christmas Feast of the United States.
The Meal
The primary attraction of the American Christmas Feast is either a nice stuffed fowl (usually turkey, but you can have some goose, pheasant or duck. Go crazy!) or the famous Christmas Ham. The Christmas Ham dates back to the pre-Christian Germanic traditions of Europe, with the Yule Boar, I believe. Stuffed fowl are a common feast centerpiece. (See Thanksgiving.) At the American Christmas dinner, you’ll find sides mashed potatoes and gravy, some root vegetables, often roasted.
Fruitcake
The infamous fruitcake, a bit of a joke in the States. In Maitou Springs, Colorado, there’s apparently an annual competition in which locals construct trebuchets to see who can launch the “unwanted fruitcake” the furthest.
Cookies
A stable of the holiday, there’s gingerbread, snickerdoodles and sugar cookies, eaten throughout December.
Drinks
Eggnog, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, is a mainstay of Christmastime. Same goes for mulled wine and wassail, possibly some rum, or champagne, though traditionally champagne is consumed on New Year’s.
Variations
Of course, America consists mainly of immigrants or their descendants. Thus you can expect some traditions from other countries to appear. Also America is a big country, different traditions will be found across the country.
Thank you for reading! Hope you enjoyed!
