Mesmerizing photo of pathway entrance to SummerHill Botanic Ridge Craig Rd.

The structure is Corten steel and was delivered to site in sections via a crane truck then welded together in-situ. Sitting on concrete bored piers as footings with rag bolts as the method of fixing.

Some images from the steel fabricator in sections; it also shows you we employ quality control by inspecting most items of significance (including trees) before they arrive on site.

Measure twice, cut once being the methodology.

The entry actually sits back into the estate from Craig Road at the junction between the Acacia and Summer Hill Estates. The area surrounding it is currently bare however about to be landscaped to be a walking track through the drainage channel.

CASEY DELIVERS A PHENOMENAL RESULT FOR ANIMALS!

Well, there's no doubt about it now. Animals are very much on the political agenda and Casey is a driving force.

On Saturday 3,161 people and counting in the seat of Casey put animals first on the ballot. This makes Casey 1 of 3 lower house seats in the country to currently be sitting above our party goal of over 4% of the vote, while many others are not far off. Across Australia we have achieved almost 80,000 primary lower house votes plus what's looking to be around 200,000 primary votes in the senate.

So what does this mean for animals? The only political party in the country that truly has their best interests at heart, their lives as the sole reason we exist will now

1. receive some federal funding 2. be recognised as the 4th largest party in Victoria in terms of lower house votes 3. be treated by other parties as a powerful political force that can no longer be ignored 4. see animals finally start to be considered in decision-making

My experience over the weekend was immensely encouraging and deeply touching. People didn't shrug me off, laugh, or make fun that I was a candidate existing solely to represent non-human animals. Unlike other politicians and much of the media, they got it. Almost all took my HTV card, listened to my message and often expressed their sorrow knowing the suffering animals endure, or their joy that they could finally vote for a party who represents the issues they feel passionate about. They understood the need for a voice for animals and their environment amongst the other voices in parliament, so much so that almost 1 in 15 who passed me by was willing to put them first.

Although unlikely, a senate seat is still on the cards as we wait for the count to be complete. But win or lose we are winning for animals.

I won't lie. Even though a superb result overall, I have spent the past few days licking my wounds. When you are profoundly aware of the suffering that surrounds you by the billions - the screams, the pain, the grief and the unimaginable terror, it is difficult to understand that so many others are not, and to accept another three years of government where not one person at a federal level will be there for them.

But this as always is our motivator - driving every person who works tirelessly for a world of kindness. Whether it be in grassroots activism, or in politics, our unequivocal drive for a world free of animal suffering is our secret weapon, along with the understanding that our movement is growing at a phenomenal rate. Animal rights is the greatest social justice issue of our time and all the roadblocks put in our way cannot change that.

Sending love and thanks to all the volunteers throughout the country and particularly here in the seat of Casey who helped achieve this result and most importantly to those who have opened their hearts and given animals the all important #1.
