Clarissa (Introduction)

Daddy - A hardworking breadwinner and proud papa of a perfectly normal and well-adjusted American family. Just ask them.

Mom - Mom is a contented homemaker juggling her responsibilities to three super kids and a doting hubby with the skill of a circus performer. “Let the past be the past” is the creedo this busy mother lives by and which she will share with you for seemingly no reason at all.

Sean - A talented athlete and A-student who couldn’t be happier and more proud of his family. Sometimes in life things seem to go off the rails, but Sean knows this only means it’s time to try harder and impress the people who care about you!

Randy - A natural joker and class clown, Randy’s levity is always a welcome contribution in his happy and well-adjusted family. If an uncomfortable situation arises, Randy knows that a smile and an upbeat attitude are the best way to push right through it.

Clarissa - *Sigh.* Some people just can’t get with the program.

hi, i’m @clarissacrotty​ and i’m a traumaposting/recoveryposting blog themed around the clarissa comic by jason yungbluth. not affiliated with him or the comic. critical of the comic and its creator when necessary.

who are you?

not comfortable sharing my main blog, but i’m 20 yrs old and a survivor of child sexual abuse. to refer to me, you can call me clarissa and use she/her pronouns.

why clarissa?

clarissa is probably one of the best most honest representations of child sexual abuse i’ve seen in any form of media. it is definitely incredibly triggering and i do not suggest going into this comic lightly, especially if you are a survivor. however, the comic brings me a lot of comfort, because it makes me feel like someone understands what i went through from my point of view. so i decided to theme my blog where i post about my trauma around clarissa, because i relate to her in every way.

every comic has its own tag for content related to it (e.g. #stuffed friend), and every character has their own tag under their name for comics they appear in (e.g. #daddy crotty). every post is also trigger-tagged with its specific triggers, as well as a list of them before the triggering content, so you shouldn’t have to see anything you don’t want to.

my dni is below. i obviously can’t stop you from reading clarissa somewhere else (it’s not even my comic), but you can’t do it here. or at least don’t let me catch sight of you doing it. stay in the shadows where you creeps belong.
