Everytime I read Frankenstein, the same line makes me put the book down and stare at the wall. It’s my favorite line in the book; it has its own highlighter color in my annotations. The first time I read it, I literally detoured after my last class just to tell my lit teacher how much I liked the line because I couldn’t wait until second period the next day. Here’s the line:

“Life, although it may only be an accumulation of anguish, is dear to me, and I will defend it.”

This is said by the creature. He wanted to live. He wanted to live life so badly even though he had had such a difficult one. He still loved the song of the birds and the smell of the flowers and the joy in the world even if he never got to truly experience that joy. I just. AHHHH.

He wanted to fight for a life he never got to live.

Hi Professor,

I was wondering if I could possibly be granted an extension on the assignment due Friday. Unfortunately I’m a bit behind as I recently witnessed the deaths of the entire Danish royal family and the Norwegian invasion of Denmark. This has made it somewhat difficult for me to focus on my work.

Sometimes you read a book and sometimes the book reads you

So tired of shallow readings of texts that begin and end with "these two men were gay for each other" ESPECIALLY bc it almost always goes hand in hand with dismissing all female characters out of hand. Yes nick was gay for gatsby but daisy is an extremely important part of novel and gatsby's relationship to her is absolutely vital. Yes goodnight sweet prince is a little fruity but I also care deeply about the tense gender politics of hamlet and ophelia's relationship and her position as a foil to him and also isn't it SO much more interesting if Hamlet really did love her? If he loved her and yet? Like I'm not saying these men aren't gay but it's not worth sacrificing the women of the story

Can I just say that I am absolutely LOSING my mind over the latest @re-dracula episode, I mean the voice work, the sound design, the soundtrack, EVERYTHING, is just 👌✨ CHEF’S KISS✨✨ Everyone did such an incredible job and I can’t wait to see how it goes as the story progresses, I am begging each and every one of you if you haven’t already to give it a listen, now’s the optimal time to follow along as it’s coming out and I’m back on my Dracula shenanigans once again after the slight burnout
