I really have no interest in warriors gameplay so can someone let me sit behind them while they play the new fire emblem, occasionally make comments, and manage snacks

Steddie rockstar x roadie AU, with Steve being Eddie's queer awakening
(in a not-fic-format because I cannot be arsed to actually write it)
So. Corroded Coffin isn't huge by any means, but they're big enough. Successful and respected within their genre. Has a loyal fanbase, constantly sells out smaller venues, gets to go on tour every so often. They're rockstars who've made it while still getting to live like they're not rockstars when off the clock (and stage). The best of both worlds, really.
They're gearing up for another tour and have a couple of new faces on their crew. One of them got the job by being a friend of a friend. He doesn't at all look like he'd be a roadie for CC, and he doesn't actually listen to them – he's more into classic rock (respectable) and occasionally new wave (not respectable), but it's whatever. He's strong and hard-working and gets the job done. He also withstands the initial hazing like a champ, even biting back a few times. Yeah, Steve Harrington carves a place for himself in the crew and is soon one of them.
Eddie is especially fond of the new guy. Partly because it's clear Steve is as enamored with Dustin as Eddie is, and mutual interests bring people together. But also because Steve is simply a fun dude to be around? He's nice. Except for when he's mean; then he's funny instead. He's honestly funny a lot of times, even when he doesn't mean to be. Like, sometimes someone will make an exceptionally nerdy reference that he doesn't get, so he'll tilt his head and scrunch his eyebrows as it's explained to him. And, all right, maybe that's not funny, per se. More like cute. Endearing. Eddie often finds himself endeared and wanting to pat Steve on the head like the sweet little puppy he so strongly resembles.
The others mock him for it. Tease him about his man-crush on Harrington. Eddie laughs along with them, because yeah! Were he into men, Steve absolutely would've been his type. Look at him! Guy's ripped and has great hair (almost better than Eddie's. Just imagine the mane it'd be if he let it grow past his shoulders...) and Eddie has great taste. He'd for sure be head over heels for Steve if he were gay, and he is man enough to admit it.
That's how the flirting starts – as an extension of the joke. It's not out of character for Eddie, who flirts with everyone. With reporters, interviewers, photographers, TSA officers, venue security, other bands, anyone! Gender, age, or appearance don't matter because flirting is fun. And it's especially fun to flirt with Steve, because he flirts back! No matter how much Eddie does it, Steve will flirt back and help make everyone laugh. It's a great part of their dynamic and actually brings them closer as friends. Dustin would be proud of them.
So, while on tour, they have this thing where one member of the crew gets to decide where they'll go after shows or on their days off. Participation is optional but encouraged, because it's an 'organic bonding experience' or whatever their manager called it. Occasionally it'll be a movie or a museum, but usually the destination is a bar or club. What's there to say, they're a bunch of male, red-blooded twenty to thirty-somethings – what better pasttime is there than to get drunk after a hard day's work? Yeah, every so often someone will pick up a girl, but it's a rare occurrence. A bunch of the guys has special ladies waiting at home, and for the single ones it's much easier to just book a date with their own hand.
There's one guy on the crew, Peter, who always takes them to a gay bar when it's his turn. This because he is gay. Duh. No one minds it, and if they do they don't come back next tour. Corroded Coffin prides themselves on their allyship. They're freaks of nature welcoming all other freaks of nature. Seriously, what does it matter if a dude likes cock instead of tits? Why is it wrong if he wants it up the ass? It's actually not that bad! See, Eddie used to date this woman who was puh-retty kinky. Pegging was just one of the many, many, maaaaaaany things she enjoyed. And Eddie loved her, so, well. It wasn't as good as she claimed it'd be, but it was fine. Enjoyable enough to do again. The point is that CC doesn't dance with homophobia, and Eddie will scream it from the top of every table.
Anyway. When it's Peter's turn, Steve (who hasn't gotten to pick yet because he's the newbie and they pick last) comments upon it. Nothing big. Nothing bad. Still, Gareth is on him, puffing himself up like a chihuahua and asking if Steve has a problem with it.
Eddie’s hands turn clammy with nerves in the split second it takes for Steve to roll his eyes and scoff "of course not".
Look, he'd really like for Steve to be back next tour, okay? They're buddies now and he doesn't want to lose him to bigotry. Also, it'd suck to have to tell Dustin that the guy he hero-worships is actually a douchebag. Nothing to fear, however – Steve continues to prove himself to be a good dude. He doesn't even blink when propositioned at the club! Simply tells them "thanks, but no thanks". Unsurprising, since he's cool with Eddie's nonsense, but there's a difference between a straight guy hitting on you as a joke and a gay guy doing it for real. At least, for some it is. But not for Steve. Fuck, Eddie hopes he'll be back next tour. He's on his way to being Eddie's new best friend and he'd miss him.
Then, it's time – they're in Chicago and it's Steve's turn to pick. Some of the others grumble over the newbie getting such a big city at his disposal. Eddie doesn't blame them for suspecting favoritism – it's happened before – but not this time! It just became like this and Eddie has nothing to do with it! Ask the other band members.
(When he breaks the news to Steve, his hazel eyes light up. He asks, "Can a friend of mine come with?"
"Sure, man," Eddie says, clapping him on the shoulder.
Steve buzzes with excitement, giddier than a kid on Christmas morning. Fuck, he's so cute.)
That night after the show, as they're leaving for the 'organic bonding experience' (seriously, Chrissy? Of all the things you could call it...), they're met by a young woman outside the venue.
She's tall and skinny, like a giraffe, and that's all Eddie can tell at first glance because she rushes up and flings herself into Steve's embrace. They hug, they laugh, they might cry a little, and he even spins around with her in his arms.
(Girlfriend? She's certainly pretty enough for it.)
Once the heartwarming reunion is over, Steve introduces her as Robin, and tells her that it's his turn to pick a place for them to decompress but he's making it her choice. Robin spits out options with a speed none of them keep up with; Steve stops her, saying, "No, Robs. I'm making it your choice."
They share a look.
She gasps.
They grin, mischievously, and then...
She takes them to a lesbian club.
It's open to gay guys too, obviously, but clearly caters to lesbians. It's a smaller thing, the kind that entertains a steady line of regulars. Apparently, Robin and Steve are among these regulars, because the bartender greets them by name the moment they step inside.
They order their drinks and claim a booth. Robin is quick to instigate a discussion about what dorky things Steve has done while away from her. Eddie is happy to share while Steve laments he should've known better than to introduce them.
An hour or so in, Robin skitters off to catch up with a group of women, all varying degrees of butch. Not ten seconds later, someone new claims her seat (which is also Steve's lap). Eddie mistakes them for a girl at first, because they're small with a high-pitched voice, but no, it's just the twinkiest twink. He makes himself at home on Steve's thigh, pressing a kiss to Steve's cheek and squealing, "Stevie! I didn't know you were back!"
Steve laughs. "Hey, babe. Just for tonight. I'm here with my coworkers."
The twink twists around in Steve's lap. He really is girly-looking: soft jawline, slender build, shoulder-length blond waves, and huge eyes enhanced with makeup. He even smells like a woman, strawberry and jasmine.
"Oh! The rock band!" He extends a dainty hand. "Hi, I'm Brendan!"
Brendan sticks around for a while. Like Robin, he wants to know what Steve's been up to. Unlike Robin, he's more interested in awe-inspiring stories than embarrassing ones (unfortunate, for the latter kind heavily outweighs the former). He doesn't move from Steve's lap. Kind of weird, actually. Like, there are available seats. Yes, Robin also sat exclusively in Steve's lap, but that's different. They're best friends and it was chaste and cute. Brendan is... honestly, Eddie doesn't know who Brendan is. Some dude who's shameless enough to rub his ass on Steve's dick in full view of everyone. Yeah, you're not as subtle as you think, babe.
He doesn't even move when they get up to let another crew member go to the bathroom! No, Steve slides out of the booth still holding him, Brendan perched on his forearm. His muscles flex, a vein straining underneath the skin, but Steve's face is relaxed. As if the – small, sure, but still grown – man in his arms weighs nothing. More likely, Steve is just that used to carrying things.
For some reason, Eddie's mouth dries a little at the thought of it.
At last, Brendan leaves, but not before sweetly kissing Steve on the lips and telling him to "let me know when you're back for real, stud".
Steve promises with a laugh, then turns back to the table and rejoins the conversation as if it was nothing strange. As if making dates with other men happens to him all the time.
Shit.
The entire thing leaves something gnawing on Eddie. He holds it in while in the club. He holds it in when they escort Robin to her cab. He holds it in as they walk back to the tour buses.
Then the others are gone. It's just him and Steve left, lingering to smoke in the parking lot, and he can't hold it any longer.
"I didn't know you're gay!"
Smoothness, thy name is Eddie Munson.
Steve shrugs. "I'm not; I'm bisexual."
"Right, right."
Eddie takes a deep drag, putting some of the smoke in the wrong pipe and coughing it up. Steve thumps his back.
"Woah, man, are you okay?"
"I'm fine," Eddie rasps, tears prickling his eyes. "So, um, is it okay? What we've been... The flirting?"
"Uh, yeah?" Steve tilts his head, eyebrows scrunching and, Jesus Christ, how can he be so adorable? "Why wouldn't it be?"
"Because!" Eddie gestures between the two of them. "You're bi, and I'm not, and is it offensive for me to...?"
Steve blinks at him, before bursting into laughter. Eddie feels the blush warming his neck.
"Don't be stupid," Steve says in between peals of giggles. "It's just a fun thing. S'not that deep. You don't have to lose sleep over it."
"Alright, man. Then I won't."
But he does.
That very night he finds himself tossing and turning. And thinking. Thinking about Steve. About Steve's strong arms and broad chest. About his square jaw and plush lips. About his thick hair and hooded eyes. About how the ugly polo shirts the techs wear look genuinely good on Steve, and about how his tight jeans leave little to the imagination. That particular line of thought has Eddie whimper and roll his hips against the mattress. Rachael's strap-on always felt kind of so-so. Was it because it was too rubbery or because it was too small?
He also thinks about what makes Steve Steve. Like Steve's selflessness, always the first to volunteer to do the tedious work so no one else has to. And Steve's barbed tongue, sharp enough to give even Eddie a run for his money. Eddie thinks about their easy banter, and how Dustin sings his praises, and how Steve let Robin pick a club when it was his turn.
After three consecutive nights of tossing, turning, thinking, and no sleep, Eddie comes to a horrifying conclusion.
It's not simply a question of 'want'. He's not just horny and curious. No, he likes Steve.
It makes things so fucking awkward. He has no idea how to act around Steve afterward. Falling for a crew member is bad enough (so unprofessional; Chrissy would definitely be on his case if she knew), but this is worse because he's a guy. Eddie's never been into guys before! Sure, there are men out there who are objectively hot. Eddie can admit that. But it's not the same. There are feelings involved here.
And the worst is that people notice. Steve notices. How can he not? When Eddie stops responding to their usual flirting, turning into a skittish bunny whenever Steve is close.
At first, it makes Steve pause. Tilt his head, scrunch his eyebrows, and pout in confusion (Eddie's heartbeat turns irregular every time he does). Then Steve pulls away, and Eddie's heart fucking breaks. The atmosphere among the crew turns tense; Peter starts sending him dirty looks that Eddie shrinks away from.
A few days into it, he's cornered by a pissed off Jeff.
"Dude, what's your problem?" he snaps; Eddie wants to sink into the ground. "I thought you were better than this. Who cares that Harrington is also into dudes? It's still Harrington! It won't kill you to treat him like you used to. No one is going to think you're gay for standing next to him."
Eddie croaks, "What if I am?"
"You- What?"
"What if... I like Steve?"
Jeff's jaw hits the floor. "What."
Eddie inhales deeply, staring at his wringing hands. "I like Steve. I've been thinking... After Chicago, I started to think about... And I realized I like him." A sob tears from his throat. "I don't know what I should-"
Jeff's arms wrap around him; Eddie buries his face in the crook of his neck.
"Jesus Christ," Jeff mutters, stroking Eddie's back. "Um, it's okay? We support you. No one will judge you! We love you all the same."
Eddie nods, Jeff's leather jacket squeaking with the movement. He's been wearing it since high school and it smells like home.
"I don't know how to act around him anymore," he sniffles.
"Why don't you tell him?"
Eddie recoils from the embrace to give Jeff his mightiest 'are you stupid for real' look. Jeff sighs at him.
"Oh, come on. You're his friend and a good-looking guy. Why not?" Jeff says, as if it's that easy. But...
"I'm not his type!"
"You don't know that."
"Yes, I do! Didn't you see that Brendan guy?"
Jeff falters. He realizes Eddie is right. Because, yes, Eddie is pretty hot. He has the long hair and a pretty face, he's been told. But he's still a masculine guy. A blue-collar type with calluses on his hands and dirt under his nails. He's not a svelte, dainty, little twink – he's as tall as Steve is, with more tattoos than bare skin and who smells like sweat and tobacco badly masked with cheap cologne, not strawberries and jasmine. He doesn't wear makeup or do his hair and some days he just fucking picks a used shirt from his pile and maybe sniffs it before putting it on. He talks too much and too loud. His limbs flail when he's excited. He's not going to sweetly ask for flattering stories about Steve – his instinct is to tease him for calling one of the guys from Nip/Tuck 'Dr. McDreamy'. He's closer to Robin than he is to Brendan. Jesus Christ, he's in the same category as Steve's lesbian best friend! Or at least he was, before he shot their friendship to hell.
There's no hope.
The tour ends on a sourer note than previous ones. It's all Eddie's fault. He doesn't even stick around for the last 'organic bonding experience' – he gets into his car at the first opportunity and drives home.
And then comes the wallowing. Several tubs of ice cream are consumed as High Fidelity plays on loop on Eddie's TV. He writes dozens of miserable, yearning songs and screens his calls, not even picking up for Chrissy or Wayne. It's not until Dustin's cheerful lisp rings out from his answering machine that there's a change. He's inviting Eddie to come visit him and Suzie and the cats in Massachusetts, like he always does after a tour.
Eddie can't turn that down. Besides, he probably needs to get out of the house.
So he goes, and it's nice. Dustin is still a little shit, Suzie is a pearl, the cats are cuddly, and Eddie is a good enough faker to mask his emotional state – his hosts notice nothing amiss.
Then, halfway through his visit, Eddie returns from his walk and who does he find unpacking their car in Dustin and Suzie's driveway?
Can you guess? I think you can.
It's Robin!
And Steve. They're a package deal, you know.
And Dustin's like, "Eddie! They're here! Oh, did I forget to tell you they were coming? Oops. Well, you already know them, so it's fine."
And Eddie is panicking, and Robin is trying to murder him with her mind, and Steve is just like,
"Hey."
Coldly polite.
Eddie hides in his guest room until dinner time. When he comes out, he expects Dustin to chew him out for being an asshole homophobe and kick him out of his life permanently.
But he doesn't. Dinner is as usual, if Steve Harrington ignoring you and Robin Buckley glaring at you is part of your usual dinner experience.
After cleaning up, Steve steps outside to smoke. Eddie, figuring he has to take some responsibility, follows him. Steve is standing on the deck, elbows resting on the wooden railing, his back to the house. He straightens up and turns when Eddie closes the screen door behind him. The sun has set, but the moon is out; Steve's profile is sharp in the pale moonlight, his posture sure. The cherry of his cigarette makes shadows and flames flicker dramatically over his features, highlighting the edges and the curves and he's so fucking gorgeous Eddie forgets how to breathe. Absence really does make the heart grow fonder.
He slinks over, Steve's gaze following him.
"Hi," Eddie says.
"Hi," Steve says.
"You didn't..." Eddie swallows. "You didn't tell Dustin?"
Steve frowns. "No. It's between us. For now, at least."
"Oh."
Shuddering, Eddie wraps his arms around himself. It's late summer and still warmish as long as there's no wind. Right now it's windless, the cold coming from within.
"I wanted to talk."
Steve hums, noncommittal.
"I wanted to apologize."
Another hum, more interested.
"I'm sorry. For how I acted. I've been an asshole and you don't deserve any of that."
Eddie glances up to gauge Steve's reaction, and oh. The whole evening, Steve's been aloof, cordially keeping Eddie at arm's length, but now...
Now he just looks sad.
A few weeks ago, they were close enough for Eddie to hug him when he looked like this. Eddie would crush his own heart with a sledgehammer if it meant they'll go back to that.
He says, "We haven't known each other for long, but you're already one of my best friends. Then it got weird at the end and-"
Steve's face hardens again, eyes tapering with anger.
"Things didn't 'get weird', Eddie. You made them weird. What the fuck?"
And Eddie takes a deep breath and says,
"I like you."
Shock colors Steve's expression; he takes a step back. It takes everything to stop Eddie from following in an attempt to reel him back in.
"I don't know when it started," he says, the confession tumbling out. "I always liked you? You're a good guy and fun to hang with and a great friend, and I guess you were hot, but a ton of guys are hot and it doesn't have to mean anything. I can be straight and still think guys are hot, you know? But then, in Chicago, you came out and I started seeing you differently. So, huh, turns out, in my case? Thinking guys are hot does mean something. And I freaked out because I didn't know what to do. Being close to you made me so nervous, and I couldn't tell you how I felt because just because you like guys doesn't mean you like me, and I already know your type is cute little blond twinks, and-"
"I actually prefer brunets," Steve says.
Eddie chokes on what else he had to say. He looks up at Steve, who's smiling. Kind of shy but mostly bright, eyes crinkling at the corners. His cigarette is almost down to the filter; Steve drops and snuffs it out without looking away from Eddie. His eyes are like gold, glittering.
"Y-you what?"
"I don't really have a type," Steve says, stepping closer. "I like who I like." Another step. "But, uh, most of my relationships have been with brunets." Another step, then stop – they're nose to nose. "Nerdy ones."
Eddie's head spins. He squeaks, "Oh?"
Steve nods. "I like smart, passionate people. And I..." He giggles. "I've had a crush on you since the beginning."
Eddie's head fucking explodes. It leaves a gash in his face that stretches from ear to ear. A breeze blows past, caressing his burning cheeks. It's his turn to giggle.
"You're fucking with me."
Steve tilts his head, but doesn't scrunch his brow this time. No, it remains smooth, but his eyelids droop as his eyes roam Eddie's body.
"So far, only in my head."
Eddie sputters. He grabs a fistful of hair and pulls it in front of his red face. Steve, the bastard, laughs at him. He reaches out, coaxing the locks out of Eddie's grip and tucks them behind his ear. There's an endlessness in his gaze; simultaneously looking through Eddie and at him. Seeing him from every angle, especially the ugly ones, but touching him just as tenderly anyway.
Eddie wets his lips. Since he caused the distance in the first place, it only seems fair he takes the last step. "Do you want to go out with me?" he asks. "A date?"
Steve leans in until they touch from forehead to nose tip.
"Yes," he says. "I do."

burnt toast, sunday
pairing: mephistopheles / gn!mc
slice of life, bonding with mephisto's younger brother, mephisto being a boyfail (endearingly) but he's also a really good older brother
"Don't you have royal babysitters for this kind of thing?"
"Yes and no, but I'd rather have someone I trust to look after my precious little brother."
"So you trust me?"
"Wh...?! Only because Lord Diavolo does!"
or: a babysitting favor-turned-impromptu sleepover party, accidental wingman-er, wingdemon little brother, and poor Mephisto having an internal crisis
[set in the OG timeline, pre-NB]
quick a/n: i cannot for the life of me think of a name for mephisto's brother, so watch how many variations of "little brother" i can use before u get sick of it <3 i like to picture him kinda like a Luke-sized version of Mephisto lol
a/n part 2: erm. i might've accidentally made this a full-fledged fic instead of a quick little drabble help
-
"So let me get this straight," you start, trying to process what the noble demon before you just proposed.
"You want me to babysit your little brother this weekend, because..."
"--Because I need to attend an event, and I have no one else to turn to but you, yes, that's the gist of it," he finishes, both arms on his hip as if he's recounted this to you 5 times over.
(He has.)
"What about your parents?" you inquire.
Sighing, he returns to his seat across from you, like the thought of them gave him a headache.
"Off to who-knows-where in an exclusive excursion. Last time I called they were somehow in Santorini."
"In the Human Realm?!"
"If you're wondering if there are any more demons masquerading as humans up there, no, there aren't. They'd need permission from Lord Diavolo first lest they get hunted down by Barbatos."
"Oh. That's assuring."
"It's a bad look for the Devildom if we leave our denizens unattended. Anyways, back to the topic at hand--"
"Don't you have, like, royal babysitters for that kind of thing?" you interject. "Like, you know, a personal butler?"
"Yes, and no," another sigh escapes him.
"While we do have butlers, they're more for tending to the estate. Plus, I doubt they could tend to my little brother's pasttime interests. I could very well simply hire a royal babysitter, as you would call it, but I'd rather have someone I trust look after my precious brother."
"So... you trust me?" you try to stop yourself from giving him a smug grin, but the chance was too perfect to miss.
"Wh...?! D-Don't twist my words, human! I only say that because Lord Diavolo does!" his face is flushed in embarrassment, clearly taken aback by the quip. He diverts his face away from looking at you, instead suddenly finding the Newspaper Clubroom's accent wall of interest.
Classic.
"Plus, considering your background experience with those brothers, I'd say you're more than qualified for the job."
You hold back from giggling - which he picks up on - much to his annoyance. But you find yourself curious about his home and his brother, who he's mentioned in many separate occasions. You have to admit, you'd also like to meet what kind of brother Mephisto has.
"Alright, I'll do it," you finally say, standing from your seat, fully decided.
"Wh-Really? Oh. Good. Perfect," he tries hiding the way his shoulders relax from stiffness, clearly relieved you finally agreed.
"...On one condition, though."
"Hm? Name your price."
"Ask me again, but this time, say 'pretty please?'"
(And if the students outside that room jumped from the doors suddenly bursting open, with a red-faced demon chasing a laughing human around, cane in hand, well, they'll just chalk it up as another normal day at R.A.D.)
-
"Whad'ya mean you won't be home the whole weekend?!" Mammon's whines fall on deaf ears as he watches you pack your overnight bag. You've already told him about the arrangement a few days prior, but it seems the information just processed now.
"It's not like I'm moving away, Mams."
"But what if you fall in love with his house and decide to stay there forever?!" he whines more, as you let out an amused giggle.
"I'll get you a little souvenir when I get back, okay? We can hang out then."
"Promise?"
"Promise. You won't even notice I'm gone!" you zip up your bag, finishing up your pack. As you do, a knock on your door grabs the attention of both of you.
"Yeah?"
"Um..." the door creaks open, revealing a groggy, half-awake Belphegor. "There's a guy waiting for you outside, I think he's one of Mephistopheles' drivers."
Giving the youngest demon a thumbs up, you stand, slinging your overnight bag on your shoulder. It's not too heavy, and after double checking if everything's in order, you make your way out of your room.
"Ride's here! See ya later Mams! Thanks Belphie!"
You walk past some of the brothers on your way out, bidding your goodbyes as you do, although not before taking a little extra bag full of snacks that Beel insisted you bring with you. Upon reaching the house's front gate, you're greeted by a tall demon, clad in formal wear. He introduces himself as your designated driver sent by Mephisto, and ushers you in the vehicle after you return the introduction.
The ride to Mephisto's estate is quiet, and you occupy your time by scrolling through your D.D.D, updating Lucifer that you just left the house, as he had to leave earlier to finish R.A.D-related paperwork. You also send updates in your group chat with the brothers, as well as the guys from Purgatory Hall - who insisted on getting updates, too.
Before long, the car pulls up to a giant, gilded gate - extravagant feels like an understatement, you think, the intricacy of its details almost reminding you of classic gothic architecture from the Human Realm. The mansion itself isn't something to scoff at either; you already knew Mephisto's family was filthy, stinkin' rich - Mammon's words, not yours - but seeing it yourself is an entirely different story.
The car slows down to a halt, stopping at the manor's front entrance. The driver quickly exits the vehicle to usher you out, before driving off to a separate part of the estate. Mephistopheles is standing by the front door, already dressed up for the event he mentioned.
"Lookin' good, Mephisto! That coat looks great on you," you tease and wave a greeting.
"You've arrived. I trust the drive was pleasant?" rolling his eyes, he pretends not to hear anything you just said.
"Definitely beats walking to here, that's for sure," you say as he opens the door for you, beckoning you inside
"Someone's being a gentleman today!"
"Tch," he furrows his brows in annoyance. "Only because you're a guest, so don't get used to it," You can't help but giggle at the treatment, saying a quick thanks as you walk in.
His manor is huge - the large, open foyer that greets you the second you step in is embellished in gold and marble pillars, with a chandelier befitting its grandeur. A portrait of two demons is its centerpiece, who you can assume are his parents. He leads you through an arched entryway leading to the living room, decorated with a large ornate rug and furniture that looks like it got taken directly from a rococo painting - not to mention the actual rococo-style paintings hanging on its walls.
"As you can tell, this is the living room," he pauses for a bit before continuing. "Although we only really use it if my parents have guests over. Even then, they prefer having tea at the backyard."
"Dude, your house is like, a museum," words fail your thoughts.
"Don't be ridiculous, you've been to the Demon Lord's castle plenty of times for you to still be ogling at some gilded furniture."
"Yeah, but he's like - the prince - and I already expected that anyway since the word castle is in the name, y'know?"
He rolls his eyes, continuing the mini-tour.
"Past that hall is the kitchen, and the dining hall is opposite of it," he points out. "Don't worry about food, though. I've already informed the butlers of your staying. They'll call when food is ready. You can ask tea from them at any time, as well."
"Aw, really? I kinda wanted to try cooking at a fancy mansion..."
"Don't you already do enough cooking at the House of Lamentation?"
"Yeah, but I rather enjoy it - plus, my baking skills are a bonafide way to make any kid like me! Or at least, that's what Luke says..."
He rolls his eyes again, before sighing in resignation. "Knock yourself out then, I'll let the butlers know. They'll inform you where everything is if you ask."
"Heh, thanks Meph." he grimaces at the even-shortened nickname, but lets it slide anyways.
"For the main point of you staying here, my brother's room is upstairs," he leads you to a set of staircases at the end of the living room leading to a large hallway at the second floor. "Follow me to his room - I've made arrangements so the room next to his can be your quarters. There's an en suite bathroom, so you don't need to worry about that."
"Thanks, you've really thought of everything, huh?" he rolls his eyes again, but doesn't retort.
"My brother's quite shy, so it might take some time and a bit of coercion for him to warm up to you. He's never really had a proper babysitter before," he pauses, stopping at one of the doors, before giving a firm knock.
A soft "come in" can be heard from the inside, as Mephisto and you enter the room. The room itself is quite different from the overall feel of the mansion - it's a lot more casual and comfortable. It's still quite large, with a seating area and a multiple bookshelves, leading to a large bed. You see a young demon seated in a sofa, book in hand, as he stands to greet his brother. He's about the same size as Luke, although unmistakably of the same blood as Mephisto - similarly colored well-kept hair, green eyes... yeah this demon is definitely his brother.
"Big brother!" he greets enthusiastically. Just from that, you can tell how close they are. "-- and... um..."
"Hello there," you give the smaller demon a wave and your warmest smile. Embarrassed, he hides his face behind the book he's holding.
"No need to be shy, this is, er, my friend from RAD who I mentioned will be looking after you while I'm away," he explains. The younger demon peers at you from his book, before nodding to his brother.
"Hello..." he's too cute, you think, almost wanting to squeeze the life out of the boy. He continues looking at you, until it looks like something clicks in his head.
"Big brother, are they the human you keep telling me about?"
Oh? You had to stop yourself from spitting out a noise in surprise, although turning to Mephisto, who's suddenly beet-red from what his brother said, didn't help your cause, and unfortunately, just made you want to let out a louder laugh. His younger brother's eyes just sparkle even more.
"It is you! Big brother's told me about you before! You're even prettier in real life!" his enthusiasm is cut short when Mephisto covers his mouth to keep him from saying anything else, although he's conveniently looking everywhere but at you. For now, you spare him mercy and lean down to his younger brother's height.
"That's nice of you to say," you smile, Mephisto's hand finally releasing his brother's mouth. "Your big brother has also told me about how much of a wonderful little brother you are."
He's embarrassed again, returning to hiding his face behind his book. The moment is interrupted, however, when Mephisto's D.D.D starts beeping an alarm, and, upon seeing the time on the screen, turns it off and nods to the two of you.
"Ah, that means I must take my leave. I'll leave you to it then - and uh," he turns, looking at his younger brother. "Please don't embarrass your big brother..." he half-whispers to him, although you hear it quite clearly. "Give me a call if anything happens. I should be back by lunchtime tomorrow."
"See ya, Mephisto!"
"Take care, big brother!"
-
Looking after Mephisto's younger brother is a delight, you think. Although the demon was indeed, pretty shy at first, the moment he saw your Ruri-Hana keychain dangling from your D.D.D - gifted to you by Levi - his eyes started sparkling and all the icebreaker meekness got thrown out the window.
"I-I love Ruri-Hana! I watch all her shows!"
"Why don't we have a little watch party tonight? I'll bake some themed cookies, too!"
"R-Really? You'd do that?" his voice is clearly quivering from excitement at the prospect. You giggle and pat his head in response.
"Absolutely! If you want, you can help, too!"
The elated smile he gives in response is bright, and he pulls you across his room to show you the little corner where he keeps all his memorabilia. His enthusiasm is endearing, and you can't help but feel a sense of older-sibling duty, not too dissimilar as what you feel with Luke.
"Wow! That's a figure of that one time she dressed up as Santa-Devil for a Devilmas special!" all the bingewatching with Levi finally paid off, as you silently thank the third-born in your head for getting you into the franchise as well.
For a while he shows you his collection, until you have an idea and pull out your D.D.D. You show him pictures of a recent convention you went to with Levi, and all the pictures you took with Ruri-Hana franchise cosplayers. His eyes light up at each one, excitedly naming each character. Not long after, a butler knocks on the room, informing the both of you that lunch was to be served.
The dining hall, despite only having you and Mephisto's younger brother, is filled with chatter as you both eat. You learn that he also reads a ton of books, a sentiment that you share. He tells you his favorites, and expresses interest on reading Human Realm literature. You promise to bring over some the next time you're over, which excites the little demon.
After lunch, you start prepping for baking, and after being given a quick kitchen tour by a butler, you work on laying out everything you need. Mephisto's brother is on the other side of the counter on a step stool, so he can see the countertop, pencil and paper in hand, drawing cookie shape ideas to fit the theme.
By the time you both finish cutting and carving off shapes for the dough, it's already late afternoon and the butler comes by to offer you both tea and some light snacks. The younger demon suggests a tea break in the garden, and you go along with his suggestion. He leads you outside through a hallway past the kitchen, and you're greeted by a large expanse of lush flora, and even further, you spot a large clearing where multiple Devildom horses are grazing.
"That midnight one over there is the fastest, he's my big brother's favorite!" he points out, and you spot the horse in question. It's a gorgeous stallion, its fur seemingly glittering under the Devildom moon.
"I have a horse of my own too, but big brother says I'm still too young to race..."
"I'm sure you'll be at it soon!" you assure him. "I don't know much about horseback riding though, so you'll have to show me the ropes when the time comes."
"Oh! Maybe big brother can teach you! Then you'll be able to ride horses, too!"
You lightly laugh at his enthusiasm at the topic, although the image of Mephisto helping you on a saddle flashes in your mind. You hurriedly swallow down the thought - and the slight fluster - with some tea, before you can dwell too much on it.
"I doubt your brother likes me enough to teach me," you lightheartedly joke. The furrow in the young demon's brow slightly surprises you though, as he turns to face you.
"That's not true! Big brother likes you a lot!"
"He... does?" He does?
"Yeah! He's a bit weird about it sometimes, though. He says he's impressed by you and how you reign around the demon brothers, but then he'll also say how much he wants to squeeze the 'life out of your pretty face!'"
"Ah..." your cheeks are quickly turning red, but you try to shake off the imagery. You take another sip of tea to try calm your beating heart down.
"I don't know what he meant by that, though. I don't want him to crush your face!"
His childlike naivete reminds you of Luke, causing you to laugh. "Don't worry, I'm sure he didn't mean it literally," you assure him. You pause, in thought for a second. "So... what else has he said about me?"
"O-Oh! He says that you're such a hard worker. He's told me that not only are you a student council member, you're also a sorcerer's apprentice! That must be hard..."
"Well, it is, but I manage. I do enjoy being in the Devildom, after all."
"He...uh, he says he hopes you're getting enough rest though," the younger demon's voice pauses, a bit hesitant to continue, which you pick up on.
"Hm?" Interesting. "What do you mean?"
"Uh, um... sometimes he'll complain about finding you asleep around school and that now he has to make sure no one disturbs you... so he-ah--! I think I've said too much! Please don't let big brother know I told you!"
You're thankful he's hiding his face in shame because you're pretty sure your own face is also red from being flustered. In your head you're already teasing Mephisto with this information, but you can't deny that your heart fluttered upon learning he's been watching over you all this time - how typical of him, you think.
"How about I tell you a little secret too? Just between us," you offer, calming him down.
"Um... okay, I'm listening," his eyes are focused on you now, clearly all-ears in anticipation.
"I really like your big brother, too."
"R-Really?! You do?"
You nod your head in assurance. "Promise not to tell him though?"
"Yeah! I promise!"
"Alright then. How about you help me make the icing for the cookies now so we can decorate immediately after dinner?"
Before he can respond, however, your D.D.D. starts ringing from where you put it on the table. Looking at the caller I.D., you can't help but breathe out a little giggle. Speak of the devil.
"Meph? What's up?"
"I'm just checking in to see how everything's going. There hasn't been any problems, has there?"
"I-Is that big brother? I wanna talk to him!" again, this kid's enthusiasm is endearing.
"Here, why don't you talk to your brother?"
-
To say he's been restless the entire event is an understatement - Mephisto has been fidgeting and pacing back and forth the entire time. It's not that he doesn't trust the human to look after his beloved sibling, no, it's the dawning realization that his brother might start saying things. Suddenly, the countless R.A.D. stories he's told him that involved you became embarrassment fuel. He's tried distracting himself by socializing with the other nobles in the grounds, however all the attempts have been proven futile. Glugging down demonus didn't seem to be working either, having to be cautious that he wasn't drinking too much.
Checking the time, he infers that it should be fine to give a call - just to make sure, he assures himself, scrolling his contacts list until he spots your name.
Just one call, Mephistopheles, don't overthink it!
A few rings later, you pick up, and he lets out a breath he didn't realize he was holding in.
"Meph? What's up?"
"I'm just checking in to see how everything's going. There hasn't been any problems, has there?" he's fidgeting the cuff of his sleeves, still restless.
"Is....brother? I wanna....talk....!" he recognizes the voice in the background as his little brother, although talk about poor reception - he'll need to speak with the venue coordinator later.
"Here... don't.... talk.... brother?" the reception sounds like it's getting worse, which is not helping his nerves at all - he can't decipher what either of you are trying to say.
"Brother.... help.... icing.... decorate.... watch.... bad guys....."
?!
"H-Hello? Are you still there? Hey! What do you mean help?!" he's frantic now, trying not to jump to any conclusions - in any case though, he definitely heard his little brother say help and bad guys before the line got cut off from the poor reception... Right?
So like any responsible big brother would, he apologizes to the event host, citing an emergency, and hurriedly calls for his chauffeur to get him home as soon as possible.
-
"Hm? That's weird, the line got cut off..." you both stare at your phone screen, wondering what happened.
"Oh...."
"Don't worry," you try conforting the younger demon. "I'm sure he just had some business to attend to. Let's try calling him again later, yeah?"
"Okay! I wanna tell him about the Ruri-Hana cookies....!"
"Let's go prepare the icing then!"
Nodding, he excitedly gets up from his seat, taking your hand as he hurriedly leads you back to the kitchen. Upon arriving, you both immediately get to work, and he picks out food coloring combinations while you mix up the icing base, dividing it into multiple bowls. He's at first worried that there wouldn't be enough colors, until you remind him that he can mix for new ones, and he's back to excitedly listing down which colors correspond to which bowl.
You both finish prepping everything just in time for dinner; the little demon scarfing down his meal as fast as he could - almost reminding you of a certain ginger demon - and you laugh as you try to match his pace. Before long you're both back in the kitchen, watching the first batch of cookies turn a nice golden color before pulling them out of the oven to cool. You explain to him that the cookies need to rest first before decorating, and he resists the urge to take one cookie as a trial piece. Endeared, you give in and tell him he can get one cookie - as a treat for being such a good helper, you say.
"It's already so good!" he exclaims.
"Heh, I bake a lot with the brothers back at home, so I'm glad you like it!"
"I'm serious! These might be the best cookies ever! I can't wait to decorate!" you swear that if he wasn't restraining himself, he would've been bouncing up and down in excitement. To satiate his energy, you ask him to start preparing the Ruri-Hana CDs in his room, so the watch party can immediately proceed once the cookies are ready. He happily obliges, rushing off upstairs.
Giggling, you take out your D.D.D to pass the time while waiting. Recalling Mephisto's call earlier, you decide to contact him to give an update, as his call from a while ago got cut off. Surpisingly, he answers the moment the call beeps.
"Hello?! Is everything alright there?! Don't worry, I'm by the gates now so-"
"Uh... Mephisto? Are you okay?" he sounds panicked and in a rush, much to your confusion.
"Wh-?! The call earlier, I heard something about a bad guy and needing help?!"
Ah, it immediately clicks for you.
"By any chance, did we get cut off because of bad reception?"
"Well... uh... yeah?"
"Mephisto," you stifle a laugh, but can't help but let it out. The demon on the other side of the line sounds bewildered, urging for clarification. "I think you misheard what your little brother said, and jumped to conclusions."
The line is silent, almost eerily so. You try to stifle another laugh, to no avail.
"Meph, you do realize I'm a capable sorcerer and have seven demons on my beck and call if anything bad were to happen, right?"
"Listen--"
"Please don't tell me you panicked and left your event early."
"Don't rub it in!"
"Well... at least you're in time to help us decorate cookies?"
"Shut up."
You laugh again at the absurdity of the situation as he hangs up, just in time for his younger brother to come trotting down the stairs.
"The CDs are all ready! Can we decorate now?" his pleads, eyes sparkling.
"We can, but I think we have a surprise guest. Why don't we meet him out front?"
"Huh? Who else is coming?"
"You'll see. Come on!"
-
By the time the two of you reach the foyer, the front door is already opening, revealing a disheveled, clearly drained Mephistopheles. You stop yourself from laughing, again, while the younger demon next to you jumps in surprise.
"Big brother! You're back early!" he runs up to him to greet him into a hug, which Mephisto reciprocates, giving him a pat on the head, as well.
"Yes, yes. I was, uh... able to leave early due to some--" he turns his gaze at you, furrowing his brows, flustered. You let out a small huff of air, looking away. "--circumstance. I trust your day was well, my dear brother?"
The younger demon gives a vigorous nod of excitement. "The best! I love my babysitter, big brother! They're the coolest!"
"Really, now?" he raises a brow in interest, urging his brother to continue.
"Yeah, we were just about to decorate cookies for our Ruri-Hana watch party... Oh! You should come help us decorate, big brother!" he doesn't even let the elder respond, already dragging him towards the kitchen. You follow suit, entertained by the two brothers. Mephisto looks behind towards you, casting a questioning glance, and all you do is mouth you'll see.
At the kitchen, Mephisto is given a quick crash course by his little brother about which colors to use, and what to decorate, pulling out the drawings he did from a while ago. Being the doting older brother that he is, he can't say no, and instead tries to follow the instructions he's being given. You transfer the separated icing mixtures into piping bags and show the two brothers the trick to get icing out evenly with even pressure and a steady hand, and despite some mishaps - mostly on Mephisto's part - you finish decorating every cookie, now having a gorgeous Ruri-Hana themed spread. You make sure to take a quick photo to send to Levi later.
"My work here is done then," you proclaim, dusting off bits of flour from your arms. "I'm guessing you'll want me gone now since you came back early...?" you turn to Mephisto, waiting for a quip from him.
"Wha- No...!" his younger sibling is immediately at your side, grabbing ahold of your shirt. "You can't leave yet! We were gonna watch Ruri-Hana!" his voice cracks.
"Big brother, you won't let them leave yet, right...?" he gives Mephisto a pleading look. You glance at him as well, and he catches your gaze. Flustered, he looks away, huffing.
"W-Well... I suppose you already did make plans, so..."
"Did you hear that? You can stay...!" he jumps in excitement, still grabbing onto you. "You can watch with us, big brother! We'll tell you all about the show!"
"And he did help with cookies," you add.
You can tell he initially wanted to decline the offer, but one look at his brother's expectant eyes crumbles him down immediately, sighing in resignation.
"F-Fine. You can leave the cookies here, I'll bring them up after I change."
Giggling, the younger demon proceeds to urge you quickly up to his room, where the watch party is set up. You suggest building a pillow fort while waiting for Mephisto, and if you thought the little demon couldn't get even more excited, you were mistaken. He's immediately onboard the idea, taking all the blankets and sheets off his massive bed. You quickly stop by to what was supposed to be your room to grab additional pillows and blankets, bringing it back to the other room.
The fort is a little rough around the edges and haphazard, but the younger demon doesn't seem to care, smile never seeming to go down. Mephisto enters the room a little while later, tray of cookies in hand, looking more casual than usual.
"I've brought the cooki-- Er, what are you two doing?"
"Big brother, look! We made a pillow fort! We can watch Ruri-Hana even better now!"
"A... fort? I fail to see any sort of resemblance..."
"Just get in here," you urge him, taking the tray off of his hands, setting it at the center. Mephisto's brother has already found his spot near the side, hugging a large Azuki-tan plush close to himself.
"Oh! You can sit next to me! That way, I can tell you all my favorite parts! And big brother can sit next you!" he suggests. You comply, trying not to think much about the seating placement, or if the little devil had ulterior motives. After taking your place, Mephisto is still standing outside the fort, seemingly in conflict with himself, staring at the empty space next to you. You pat the spot with your hand, inviting him in. You hear him groan in contempt, mumbling an "I guess that works" to himself as he sits next to you. You giggle at his resignation, and he casts you a glare, although you could tell it had no bite.
The watch party starts off without a hitch - you and Mephisto's little brother gleefully react at all the exciting scenes, as if you've never seen the show before. Mephisto seemed confused half the time, although it's clear he was entertained enough to stay. You humour him every now and then by explaining some of the finer details, and he's surprisingly very attentive. It's not long before he brings his own commentary on the table on certain scenes, prompting discussions and lighthearted debates between the three of you.
Hours and a whole tray of cookies later, the younger demon next to you has drifted off to sleep, curling himself in, Azuki-tan plush by his side. Mephisto, although initially wanting to transfer him to his bed, eventually gives in to let him continue sleeping as is - it's a pillow fort, nothing's more cofortable! - you assure the usually snarky demon, who sighs in defeat.
"He's a really sweet kid," you tell him, placing a blanket over the young demon, who snuggles in comfortably. "--very much unlike his big brother," you add, teasing him.
"He's nice enough for the both of us," his reply is sarcastic, rolling his eyes in addition as a response. "But yes, he's the best brother I could ask for."
"Hah, just now, you kinda sounded like Lucifer when he gets drunk--"
"Do not compare me to that arrogant, self-absorbed, goat-horned jerk."
"Oh, that's a new one. I'll have to use that sometime," you laugh quietly, careful not to disturb your snoozing fortmate. You notice him trying to stifle his own laugh, more amused than he lets on.
A welcomed silence envelops the room, the lowered volume of a Ruri-Hana episode still playing in the background. You can't help but stare at his screen-illuminated face, engrossed in a fight scene between Ruri-chan and the epsiode's focused monster. It's not long before he catches you staring, however, but instead of a sneering quip, he instead gets flustered and turns his head back at the screen.
"So... uh," he starts, still trying to find what he wants to say, although his eyes are still glued to the screen, albeit unfocused.
"For... today. Thanks."
"If it's for looking after your brother, there's no need to thank me. It was fun."
"No, not only that. In truth, I was worried he wouldn't open up to you, and, well..." he breathes in, finally turning to face you. "I didn't like the idea of you two not getting along, I guess."
"Hey, I already told you, kids love me! ...I think," you say. It's light, but you hear a semblance of a laugh escaping him. "Plus, I got to learn a little bit more about you, too!"
"Hm? Like what?"
"Well... I got to meet your favorite horse - he's really pretty, by the way."
"Ah, so you've met Faust. Yes, he is a stunner, befitting only of someone such as myself," he huffs in pride.
"Speaking of, you should totally teach me how to horseback. Your little brother kinda got me intrigued."
He pauses for a moment, as if in thought. "I suppose that's not an... unfavorable idea. I'll consider it."
You're a little surprised, not expecting him to agree, but at the same time, you realize it was his own way of attempting to get closer to you. Recalling what his little brother said that afternoon, you decide to push your luck a little bit further.
"I uh... also learned that despite how you act, you're always looking out for me," it's your turn to avert your gaze, thankful that the room's dimness was enough to hide the pink tinge on your cheeks.
"Wha-ugh... He told you, didn't he..." the giggle you let out in response is light, almost inaudible with the show's ending song playing in the background.
"I think it's quite endearing," you assure him. "I mean, the brothers already try their best to make sure I'm always safe, so knowing you go out of your way to do so too, regardless... It's a nice feeling. Thanks, Mephisto."
"Y-Yeah..."
Silence envelops the two of you again, this time completely, as the screen in front of you fades to black, signifying the episode's end. Carefully, you shuffle yourself a little closer to him, and you take it as an invitation to go further when all he does is look at you quietly.
Wordlessly, you lean your head against his shoulder, softly breathing in the remnants of his perfume from earlier in the day; a comforting scent compounded with Mephisto's natural one. He stiffens at your action, but almost immediately relaxes himself, his hand finding yours under the sheets. His hand is chilly, you think, the demon obviously nervous, but you urge him to continue by letting out a gentle hum of assurance and giving his hand a quick squeeze.
"Hey, Meph?" you whisper, leaning yourself closer to him.
"Hm?" you can feel his head turn to look down on yours.
"I like you."
"Ah... I--" he's breathless, despite already seeing the confession coming. He's thankful the darkness is hiding his extremely flushed face, but he's unsure if you can hear how loud his heart is beating.
"I like you too."
You giggle lightly, squeezing his hand again, this time, a bit warmer. You feel him squeeze back, as you feel yourself starting to drift off to sleep.
"I know."
You're unaware of it, but as he hears your breathing relax and as your body naturally leans a bit more towards him, he's smiling at your form softly, planting a kiss on the crown of your head.
"Sleep tight."

so i made my mc for @campwillowpeak … i saw her in a vision after watching newjeans’ ditto trust me on this one 😎
Tumblr media
meet Deena de la Rosa, 23, double engineering major, and the camp’s resident pretty girl! never beating the favorite counselor allegations since the first thing you notice about her is how easygoing she is! (also, i can’t draw for shit, but i love simming my mcs)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
a few tidbits about her under the cut!
- She’s 23, about to finish her double degree in civil and biomedical engineering with a minor in multimedia journalism—in Cornell, no less
- Deena is bubbly. Almost always the life of the party, and what she lacks in perception she makes up for in optimism.
- Deena is bubbly. Almost always the life of the party, and what she lacks in perception she makes up for in optimism.
- A major inspiration for Deena is Newjeans (physically, mostly Haerin and Minji) particularly in terms of vibe; if her story in Camp Willowpeak was a movie, it’d have the feel and look of their Ditto MV. Eerie, but youthful somewhat. Don’t forget the yearning
- She really revolves around that song :’)
- She’s bad at picking up social cues, but is much smarter than your average cookie.
- Deena is known in university as the ‘beauty queen of engineering’, and has a line of suitors both approved and promoted by her family and in university. She doesn’t entertain anyone, though, because she believes in “letting it happen naturally”.
- She’s fully Filipino, but is a big beautiful hotpot of Korean, American, and Filipino, thanks to her parents dragging her along for long business trips when she was younger.
- She loves playing the piano, and doing covers of her favorite songs.
- She likes to camp often, and is a natural extrovert, so the idea of camp counseling to get more ‘on the ground experience’ to convince her parents to continue engineering and management sounded like a good idea.
- Deena smells like notes of baby powder and jasmine, even when she sweats; her go-to perfume is Kenzo Flower.
- Her favorite genre of music is pop/r&b, and has a fondness for 70s music, K-pop, and bubblegum 90s pop. Her playlist here.
- She prides herself on surprising people, especially her classmates; she sometimes sticks out like a sore thumb with how well-kept, even with an effortlessly natural face of makeup and cohesive style in the hardest engineering courses ever. She takes it personally when people say beauty OR brains. People have both? Hello?
- Has only had two boyfriends, both of which cheated on her; ever since then, she’s completely dedicated to her courses and practicing different kinds of hobbies as a pasttime—you will never catch her not doing anything
- Her favorite food is kimchi fried rice, and dinuguan (a dish made from pig’s blood—it’s a Filipino classic, and Deena’s comfort food)
- Has an elder sister named Honey Alexa. To this day Deena gives her grief for having a name like an adult film star’s, but Honey’s anything but. She’s much stricter and straight-laced than Deena but loves her very much.
- you want to know her intimately? check her Letterboxd, conveniently named covertly as @dreaaamgirI. she even has a ranked list, and her top 3’a as follows: Gilda (1946), Eyes Wide Shut (1999), and Belladonna of Sadness (1973).
- She would never say it out loud, but she’d do anything to be doted on and appreciated even if she switched off her bubbly persona at the end of the day—which she does often. She’s just a girl with simple dreams who wants a lot of love.

what's so funny about julian's students in the secret history is despite studying something they are partially obsessed with (classics), for the most part they are actually like any of the college students who are so bad at their classes, at showing up, doing assignments, etc. like you would think they're weird in a studious genius nose-in-the-books kind of way but they are weird in a "i've elected murder as my pasttime" kind of way

THIRD TIME’S THE CHARM- you already know who it is, it’s me. Ya boi. ANYWAY!
What sort of activities or hobbies do your TWST ocs like to do in their free time? Could be with friends included but I was thinking when they’re alone.
Billy enjoys cooking. He's actually a surprisingly good chef, and he legitimately likes making different things. He also likes to wrestle: I headcanon there's a wrestling club at NRC in the time my OCs arrive, and Billy joins it within its first semester. Obviously that's something he can't really do on his own though. I also think he occasionally likes playing video games, and - when he is with friends - probably enjoys playing board games. He also genuinely makes a hobby of counting the treasure he has at his house, whenever home; he's a little paranoid about thieves, and it gives him something to do that keeps his mind off other problems. Nakoda likes to read, although I'm not sure what specific mediums or genres. (On that note, I'm an avid reader myself, so that's a common pasttime for several of my OCs, largely as a result.) I used to say Nakoda was good at painting, but I kind of go back and forth on that one, simply because Maelstrom is also very into painted art. Presuming I keep that canon to his character, that's definitely another hobby of his. I also like to think that, while Nakoda really isn't into Video Games, he IS something of an Internet junkie. Not so much social media, but more video watching and browsing, idling the time away with that kind of stuff. Finally, he also enjoys dancing and singing, but typically that's something better done with a partner, or at least an audience. Of course, Nako's favorite "hobbies" are a bit too graphic to describe here...and typically take two to tango with. Ahem. >_> Elias, of course, loves the theatre and loves to sing. He's also an avid reader, like myself, and enjoys a lot of genres and styles. He also loves drawing; he carries a sketchpad with him frequently. He also enjoys board games, and video games, from time to time, but typically only plays those with other people. Finally, he's a bit of cinephile and enjoys watching all kinds of movies, as well as listening to old-time radio shows here and there.
Reno is all about games. Whether it's on his own or with other players, basically gaming is his biggest hobby, and he plays all kinds of games. Video games, dice games, board games, card games, slot machine games, pinball games, billiard games...you name it, he probably plays it, or knows somebody who plays it, or just generally knows a bit about it. Ironically, though, he's not SUPER into sports; he's not an athletic kind of guy. Those are the only games he's not really into. He also has an ant farm in his room, so I suppose that's another hobby of his, if it counts. James is yet another avid reader, and particularly enjoys what could be considered classic literature. (Much like myself.) He also likes fishing from time to time, as well as sailing in general. I headcanon he has a little sailboat he keeps somewhere (not sure exactly where), and - when he has time - he'll take the little craft out to the beach, go off onto the water, and start fishing or just...set a course and sail around the island. Just to relax, so to speak. I also think that, much like Azul, he's a coin collector: a hobby both share. Finally, James is a very skilled and practiced fencer, so he enjoys that, but it's another thing you can't really do alone too often, aside from just practicing the motions or against dummy targets and such. Smitty has a pet parakeet named Little Tom, and takes care of him; not sure if that counts as a "hobby," but it's certainly something. (I only just decided this right now, and it's a reference to pirates having pet parrots.) He is, surprisingly, a bit of a gamer, but he especially enjoys games he can play online or with friends. Like James, he enjoys fishing; in fact, his father is a fisherman. However, he doesn't have a boat of his own. So, sometimes he'll go sailing out with James, and sometimes he'll just sit on the shore or beside a river or lake and just kick back on his own to relax and catch something. Like Billy, he's also a very good cook, although I think Billy might have a bit more experience with a variety of dishes compared to Smitty, who specializes primarily in seafood, steak, and a few side dish staples. Maelstrom likes to paint, and likes to sing and even compose his own songs in privacy. He also just likes listening to music in general, and enjoys reading - particularly books about art and the ocean. Like Nakoda, I also think he has a thing for nature documentaries...especially ones about whales. ;) Being a mer-person, he enjoys swimming, either in his human form or in his true form...of course, in the latter case, he can only swim THAT way by going down to the ocean. Theodore is a flying ace. He loves flying on his broomstick, loves the experience of flying. He doesn't just fly to compete, he flies because he likes doing it. So sometimes, much in the way James will go sailing around the island, Theo will jump on his broom and fly to some quiet part of the island to reflect or just take a few laps around the campus, or whatever. Once again, he's an avid reader, but he specifically likes reading informative texts about magic and its history: he's genuinely interested in magic itself and learning new tricks and tools of the trade, partially because he figures the more he learns, the more powerful he will become. Grit is a gem collector. He likes going into the mountains, or into the mines, looking for gemstones for his collection. Indeed, Grim enjoys hiking and other such things; he's not so much a fan of nature as much as he is a fan of earth, if that makes any sense at all. He can't tell you a thing about trees or mushrooms, but - being part Nome, and living most of his life underground - he knows a LOT about rocks and minerals. (On a side note, I weirdly think he and Jade would get along pretty well: both love the mountains, but for somewhat different reasons, and both would probably relate to and teach other a lot.) He's also big on exercise; he likes working out by lifting weights and going for a jog now and then. He's by far the most physically fit and buffed-up of all my OCs.

So tired rn that I scrolled past a post about Good Omens s2, attempted to remember when its release date will be (did not remember that due to being Wiped Out the memory drive has a current 7 minutes of buffering time), and was a harrowing moment away from the classic tumblr pasttime of treating @neil-gaiman's inbox as an ANI voice assistant. "Hey Siri Neil, what date is-"

Teasers
In the teaser for AM 2 PM, the girls leave the club they were at in B.O.Y laughing as they walk out.
Across the street, in an abandoned parking lot, a circle of cars with their headlight on create a spotlight on the crews of dancers in the middle dancing against each other.
“What’s going on over there?” Juno asked. The girls tried to look around standing on their toes to get more height to no avail. “We’re not gonna find out by standing here.” Aurora starts forward but the other three girls grab her, pulling the youngest back in place.
“I think we should dress properly before going over there.” Moxy points to the costume shop next door to where they stand with a smirk. The girls pile into the shop.
When the door closes, the frosted door displays “AM 2 PM Album and MV Release Dec 2nd”
Outfits
During the video, AG uses three outfits. One for the performance video. One for steady cam and one for the actual music video shoot
Performance Version: The girls wore white, black and purple. Juno wore a purple hoodie with white jeans and black sneakers. Hannah wore a long sleeve dress with black knee highs and white boots. Aurora wore a white shirt with a purple paisley jacket, black pants and white sneakers. Moxy wore a purple cargo pants, a white top with a black long sleeve underneath
Music Video: These outfits were old school velour tracksuits (a la Cheetah Girls) with headbands in the girls signature colors.
Steady Cam: The girls wore classic 2000’s matching outfits. Each outfit, once again was in the girls signature colors. The girls all wore white cropped shirts with a sprout icon on the front. They all wore leather shorts and knee high combat boots. Over it, they had long sleeve plaid shirts. On the backs of the shirts, they said the girls' names and a number (Like Dreamies jackets in Deja Vu). Moxy=31. Hannah=99. Juno=18. Aurora=03.
Music Video(s)
The video starts with the teaser as it was shot. The girls enter the costume shop and begin picking outfits to wear
For a couple of seconds the members try on several different costumes. All of them are rejected. Moxy suggests all black. Hannah comes out in a swimsuit (“It's cold outside!! We ain't wearing that!”). Aurora in the Black Parade suits (MCR) and Juno in a dress similar to Posh Spice. Every look is rejected, until the shopkeeper leads the girls to the back room where four outfits live on mannequins. The girls look at the outfits, then each other before shouting, “We’ll take em’!”
AG walks into the shot, in their new outfits, crossing the street to where the circle of cars are. The girls take turns climbing to the top of a truck to see what's going on. What meets their eyes are different crews of dancers battling each other. The girls get called out by the winning team. They tried to refuse but the leader of the winning crew says that they're scared. And we all know AG ain’t never scared. So they march their way to the front.
The song starts and with it the coolest dance battle to be filmed (after you got served and the beginning of Stomp the Yard). The girls pulled out all the moves to beat the crew in front of them.
In the part of the video with the girls battle dancing, these dances are separate from the actual choreography. The only parts of the official choreo used is the chorus at the end of the song.
The rest of the video incorporated videos of the performance video, steady cam footage, and the footage of the dance battles.
In the end, the girls ‘win’ by taking the bucket hat from the leader of the opposing crew, causing the disruption to dissipate. The girls celebrate their win by dancing with all the dancers. The song replays as the credits roll
BTS
The albums looked like time machines. The were modeled after the time machine boxes that SM used for Resonance Pt.1
The PASTtime version was colored gold while the FUTUREtime version was silver. In the PASTtime version, the girls were dressed in outfits that resemble their past title track costumes but better. For example, the stylist took the SLAP outfits and upgraded them like the ones they wore for Emergency.
Nobody understood what a Timeline was until their albums arrived. A Timeline was a booklet filled with pictures of the girls through the years until the present time. Juno’s was the most sought after because her Timeline included photos of herself scanned from her scrapbook
AM 2 PM maintains the energy of B.O.Y while infusing 2000’s pop and hip/hip influences.
GO! was recorded during the girls pre-debut period. Go was one of the four songs considered as a title track for Time Of Day: Dawn. When it came to discussing the songs added to Time Of Day, the girls made a request to bring one of these tracks out of the vault and Go was chosen as the strongest.
Many fans questioned SM for switching GO! for Something Like A Party as AG’s debut track. Thus fueling the fire of those fans who think AG would be further along if they had debuted with a stronger song.
For Liberty Walk, Hannah sat down with one of Label V’s writers once again to pen the lyrics for the song. With their help, Hannah was able to write an empowering song about leaving a harmful relationship
AG was preparing for the repackage during B.O.Y promotions. Once the video was released fans recognized every time the girls spoiled the dance, lyrics or melody in any of their videos
The worst time was during the vlive they did after MAMA. Juno outright sang a bit of the chorus which sent all the girls into stitches.
The girls did a countdown live where they talked about the new tracks on the album. On the show, Aurora talked about GO
“GO'' was the first song we ever recorded as a group of four. Way before we were given Something Like A Party, we recorded GO. Personally I liked GO better than Something Like A Party. I was one of the first to vote for GO being added to the tracklist.”
“With this album being about acknowledging our past but moving to the future, we wanted to give our fans a gift in the form of songs we’ve recorded before. People may not know but when your favorite albums are made, dozens of songs are considered for the tracklist. When they don’t fit, they sit on hardrives until they do. There’s probably even more songs we could release that we recorded before Time Of Day: Dawn.” Moxy added
AM 2 PM reached 16 million views in 24 hours. The fastest AG video to reach this number since Breakout. Breakout reached 10 million views in 24 hours.
The girls promoted AM 2 PM for only one week this time because of packed schedules. They did win three times at music shows.
Liberty Walk was chosen as the lead b-side. Fans loved the combination of the two songs. While AM 2 PM is a dance song, Liberty Walk is an empowerment song. In terms of dance, Liberty Walk is a formation heavy dance with roundoff’s galore.
The AM 2 PM dance was inspired by 2000’s female dance choreographies. Specifically Case Of The Ex by Mya and anything by Aaliyah.
During the reaction, the girls were all screaming to express their cringe at the partner dance in the second chorus. In 127’s reaction, all the boys were mad at how close the male dancers got to their girls, whining that they didn’t have to touch that much
A couple members of dream were strangely quiet during the partner dance section *cough Renjun, Chenle, Mark and Haechan cough*
The AG channel released many videos during promotions. The one video that garnered a TON of views was the GO! track video. It was revealed that GO! wasn’t just a song considered for the title track. SM actually had the girls film half a music video for this song before scrapping it for SLAP.
Regardless fans loved seeing mini AG dance their hearts out in the old clips that were edited in
In the BTS of the video shoot, Moxy revealed that her partner was a friend from SOPA who was majoring in dance.
The girl filmed a ton of #AM2PMChallenge videos with the idols in attendance at MAMA. Moxy shot one with I.N and Felix from Stray Kids. Aurora shot on with Junghwan and Doyoung from Treasure. Hannah and Chaeyoung from Itzy filmed together.
The one that garnered the most comments was Juno and Haruto’s version. After seeing the two hug each other at MAMA, netizens were wondering where the closeness came from.
Even though the promotions were short, the girls reassured NCTzens that bigger things were coming on the horizon that they should prepare for.
For the new years eve concert, The girls performed five songs: B.O.Y, AM 2 PM, Breakout!, Do It Like This and Cannonball
Right after a section of AG performances, A video was played. In the video were various clips of the members of AG arguing at a meeting room table.
“I think we need to have two cover sections. One for girl groups and one for boy groups.”
“I want to start the ****** with Breakout. It's our biggest song. It makes sense to send the fans home with that song.”
“Is everyone ready with their song covers?” “We all have one cover and one solo right?”
“We should kick off with Cannonball.” “I actually wanted to use Cannonball during the last section.”
“Can we see the costume sketches again?”
“What’s the word on pyro. Can we have pyro in the venue.”
“****** ****, **********, **** ****, ******, and **** **. I think those are the songs we wanna use for one of the cover sections.”
The video ends with Hannah voice saying, “I think that's enough for today.” and fades to a black screen. In the corner in typewriter font, the words “AG Presents, Coming Soon”

WORK // owns The Bone & Rattle, a dive bar in Marpole, and purchased it in early 2019. he’s very hands-on, likes to be there most days working alongside his employees. he's befriended most of his regulars, particularly the bikers.
HOME // he also lives in Marpole, alone in a small house save for a cat that likes to visit to the point of being a permanent resident. he’s lived there ever since, and though he's long had the money to upgrade to a bigger house, he's content where he is.
FINANCES // he’s gathered himself quite the dragon’s hoard over the years even after the divorce, yet he still refuses to move out of his old Marpole shack or buy a new wardrobe. he usually spends his money on his annual motorcycle purchase and investing in the bar. he’s also quietly into philanthropy, and likes organising/sponsoring events and causes he believes in.
STYLE // perpetually-bearded or stubbled, wears his hair short in summer and long in winter: sometimes below the ear, sometimes up to the shoulders. his style is 'hobo chic' — loves his long coats, biker boots and accessories, but at the same time everything he owns is decades-old and well-worn (and it shows).
OBSESSION // it's immediately obvious that he really, really loves motorbikes. he trades in for a new one every year or so, uses it as his only mode of transport, and spends a lot of time working on them in his garage. respectively, he also has a lot of memorabilia hanging in The Bone & Rattle — badges, posters, framed professional racer signatures, mounted vintage parts, etc.
PASTTIME // hes a smoker, social drinker, and coffee-every-morning kind of guy. he likes rock, specifically metal and some hardcore punk, yet also appreciates classical on occasion. he’s decent at playing the guitar, though it’s exclusively an at-home hobby. he sees a chiro regularly to circumvent strain from his motorbiking, and visits the gym at least once a week.
PERSONALITY // he's very polite and friendly thus he makes and maintains friendships quite easily, but he's also prone to sudden mood swings and depressive episodes in which he drops off the grid and flakes on social commitments. he's reluctant to talk in depth about his past or personal life, and his love life has likely suffered in most part due to this closed-off nature.

Normie obsessions
When it comes to what normal people, well nongeeky people, are into though they could get just as geeky with their fascinations but the reality’s more of a matter of social perception as noted by one Redditor. To put it this way, somebody who’s into football a lot wouldn’t be considered a geeky even though they could fanboy over it a lot.
If because football, well at least in most places, is a very popular sport so it’s sometimes not that remarkable if somebody’s into football one way or another. They could play football as part of their pasttimes, they could be into football in a casual way by having no devotion to a particular team, coach or footballer. (The latter’s the case with me.)
Fashion, cats and dogs could count as normie obsessions if because they’re things many people have and/ore are into, though it only takes a geek to call themselves a cat geek. Even then, these interests are too common to be considered geeky in any way even if it varies to a degree in other places but still. This is pretty much the same with sports really.
Geek interests, well many of the classical ones at least, tend to attract a certain audience who all tend towards narcissism, openness to experience, extraversion and neuroticism. To put it simply, the tendency towards really high self-esteem, openmindedness, sociable and moodiness according to one study. It may not be that straightforward for everybody else, whether if they work in science or not.
But it’s still telling that many of the popular geek interests attract a certain audience, especially if it speaks to their mindsets and mentalities a lot. It does get tricky when it comes to things like certain kinds of comics being popular with the masses like Cathy, Dilbert and Doonesbury. But then again they don’t attract a loud geek following, so there has to be something about DC and Marvel that attracts geeks.
If most people, especially normies, can’t be and remain committed fans of DC and Marvel then it’s up to geeks to follow whatever they do a lot. Perhaps far more than I’ve ever done really, but it could apply to whatever comic that appeals to geeks a lot. Whatever that is, but what makes something appealing to geeks takes a set of ingredients that appeal to a certain mindset.
This is also likely why things like football and fashion are normie obsessions, especially if that person in question isn’t that narcissistic.
