Winter skincare routine 🦋

I'm so, so excited about my winter skincare routine! I need a lot of moisturizing right now; it's freezing, and there is terribly dry air in this part of Europe. Luckily, the Korean/Japanese skincare has helped so much. I even achieved the 'glass skin' look for the first time, which I initially thought would be impossible on my dry and problematic skin. The only downside is that it takes so long, but I've learned to enjoy those moments, really take my time with gua sha massages, and just ruminate over my day.

As I wrap up my skincare journey for the day, I'm reminded that taking care of my skin is like giving a little gift to myself every morning and evening. Here's to glowing skin and the joy of self-care! ✨

Clean & Clear oil control film 💗

This is now my favorite blotting paper, it really does the job absorbing oil, leaving my face a lot fresher whenever after I use it. My face oils too much, and it’s mostly the reason why I have acne. When I started using this film, I had lesser acne. I use a lot of these in a day. Also, the scent is giving!!! It leaves a very good scent, that’s why I love this much more than the blue one. I’d give it a 9/10 🤙

It is available in Watsons, Mercury, and in other drugstores, supermarkets in Rob or SM. Its price ranges around 180 pesos.

But if you have guys reco about oiliness, I’d love to hear about it. I use too much of this film. I must have something to like prevent the too much oiling, or just lessen it, not just remove it too many times in a day.

how to properly wash your face

this post is a bit of a spinoff from my last post, 'how you can reduce acne'. read it here.

now, properly washing your face has many benefits, such as:

removing buildup washing your face clears away dirt, oil and other unwanted debris, preventing clogged pores and acne breakouts.

boosting hydration regular cleansing can help to maintain proper hydration levels, which keeps the skin smooth.

maintaining clear skin it helps to manage the production of sebum and supports proper pore size, contributing to clearer skin.

enhancing the effectiveness of products clean skin allows for better absorption of skincare products like moisturizers and treatments.

promoting healthy skin by removing impurities and maintaining hydration, face washing contributes to overall skin health.

here's some steps, how to properly wash your face:

start by removing any makeup with a gentle makeup remover or micellar water. it's important to remove makeup because clean skin absorbs skincare products better, making them more effective. never, and i repeat NEVER wear makeup to bed. this will lead to breakouts and acne. your skin needs time to breathe.

2. wet your face with warm water. using hot water can strip your skin of natural oils and cold water isn't as effective at cleaning.

3. use a gentle, non-abrasive cleanser suitable for your skin type and apply it to your face in a circular motion. make sure to be gentle. avoid scrubbing your skin harshly as this can cause irritation.

4. rinse off the cleanser completely with warm water.

5. pat your face dry with a clean towel. i use a face washer (which is like a tiny, thin towel) and change it every 2-3 uses. do not rub when you are drying your face, as this can irritate the skin.

6. apply a moisturizer suitable for your skin type to keep your skin hydrated. personally, i only use moisturizer in the mornings, mixing it with my sunscreen. at nighttime, i prefer to just wash my face and if i have pimples, i will apply a spot treatment.

astro observations 2 - appearance and vibes : virgo rising focus

hiii ! I am finally back !! This post will be the 2/3 of my appearance and vibes series. The next part will be focusing on 1 rising sign : leo risings.

(/!\ the leo risings one will be completely different from the first 2 posts of the series as I will not describe their appearance or vibes but I will focus on something else... you guys will see what I mean when it will be posted (which might be in a while because i will be in vacations for 2 weeks and probably won't have easy access to internet.)

Today, the focus will be on virgo risings.

(REMINDER : I am NOT a professional astrologer. Everything I say are my personal opinions and not facts.)

In my experience - the ones I have met did not have that “bella hadid clean girl aesthetic look” that people tend to describe online.

Like for the Aries rising, I have identified 2 types of Virgo risings that I will present in this post. (unlike the one about aries risings, those two types can be applied to both men and women, and not just men)

Type 1 :

a lot of them lean to the chubbier side, overweight, or just "fleshy", plump lips, big round doe eyes

this type is mostly found in POC Virgo risings from what i’ve seen

Looks like a teddy bear, inviting, looks huggable. They do look "clean" like a lot of them have clear faces, bright skin. Like Cancer rising, there is an emphasis on the skin texture, which is usually soft and silky. They seem to have really dewy skin.

They kind of look like a hamster mixed with a frog.

There is something prominent about their cheeks area connected to their lips. Their nostrils tend to also be a prominent part of their face, like at first glance you see it.

They tend to be slightly taller than average for the boys.

Their skin can therefore be really sensitive and easily irritable which can cause breakouts. Acne can also be a problem for them. Their skin is usually dry too. Miguel doesn't date people for the way they look - so if you're hoping for him to look your way because you're conventionally attractive you're outta luck.

What I mean by this is that he's definitely more of the type to look at someone's actions/inner beauty.

I think Miguel likes individuals that are independent, financially and whatnot. I don't picture him as the type to enjoy babying (I mean this as in taking care of everything for them lol) his partner. However that does NOT mean that he doesn't enjoy getting them gifts and helping them out when they need it.

I think he'd want his partner to be patient. It's no secret that he can be explosive when angry and can sort of act like there's a switch in his head when it comes to his emotions, so having someone that is naturally patient is something that he would definitely look for.

I think he'd look for someone who has different interests/hobbies than him. I feel like he gets bored easily, so having an S/O that has interests he knows little about would peak his curiosity and would sorta act like brain food?? Does that make sense?

He'd look for someone who's an early bird like him, he wants to wake up around the same time as his S/O. However I don't think this applies to bedtime, since he has work to do and probably stays up late, he wouldn't wanna hurt his S/O's physical health.

Sorry guys I do not think Miguel likes pets, I think he likes his home tidy and clean. I think he'd lose a sense of control after everything that happened to him, and having a clean home gives him back some sense of control of his life. Maybe a few years into the relationship (after you've moved in) he'd be ok with pets but definitely not at the start.

Also, just because he doesn't want pets doesn't mean he isn't good with animals.

He'd look for someone who is a foodie, I think Miguel is one himself, so he'd look for someone that has the same eating habit of trying new foods. He'd also want this because I think he'd like making them try out recipes. :')

He'd look for someone who doesn't mind quiet days where the both of you barely talk but enjoy each other's presence.

Trembling hands retrieve the fist-sized cube from its pocket; chipped nails slid into the crevice separating the second and third row of squares. Why were they the one that had to solve it? These puzzles were always so hard despite the countless times they've done it - teary eyes aiding little to their cause. It becomes easier once they slide the third white cube into row. Their eyesight and mental slate become clear, cheeks dry and devoid of the faded acne scars that plagued them. They step towards their captive who was busy squirming away from the figure now five inches taller and missing the hunch in their posture that left them wondering how they had managed to drag them here in the beginning. Gaze piercing and laser focus as opposed to cowering from each sniffle. With those pure white eyes it's impossible to tell where they're looking, but the threat of being the target of their glance was petrifying alone. They were blue not even a minute ago. It was like they were a different person entirely - body and soul.

A dice falls to their victim's feet.

"Six.... You were fortune this time."

Another object grabbed from their robes. A single line drawn across their neck - and it's back to five.

"I knew you had that on you...."

"Awww, what the hell - over already? Should've made them beg or at least give us their address."

The figure pockets their weapon and stands with a stretch, stepping away from the growing pool of blood. "That was messier than expected. What should we do now?"

how i got rid of my body acne and achieved the smoothest skin ever and also plan on keeping it hydrated during the colder months 🫧🧼🧴🚿

i absolutely love and adore the naturium brand it really has transformed my skin and helped it so much ive used each product separately but get the best results using them together.

THESE TWO BODY WASHES RIGHT HERE! ive had body acne for as long as i can remember and these two washes have magically made them go away. i notice when i use other body washes my skin tends to revert back into breaking out but these body washes help my skin so much and clear up my skin so well. i still am left with the scarring but they also have a vitamin c body wash for skin brightening that also exfoliates that i want to try out for my scars.

ROUTINE FOR SMOOTH HYDRATED SKIN:

1. the first thing i do is dry brush, you might not be able to tell the difference in the beginning but you will after and especially after consistent use.

2. the next thing i do is shower like normal and use shower tools to really help clean my skin whether it’s an exfoliating glove, wash cloth, loofah, exfoliating wash net,etc…(i recommend an exfoliating glove and wash net for a deeper wash and for extra smooth skin as well you will definitely notice a difference in the texture of your skin after!) i also of course use the two body washes i listed above, the salicylic acid one first then the multi-oil body wash after.

3. the thing that seals the deal…a body oil! yes you are going to use it right after you shower with water still dripping on your skin! (i pat very little water off my body so im not sopping wet reaching over for my body oil) but the water is the key into locking in the moisture when you rub the body oil in the water will be absorbed into your skin and you will not be soaking wet anymore, and the way your skin will feel after? SOOOO SMOOTH!!

after this i like to still layer on my smells through body lotions, body mists and perfumes because these have zero to little fragrance to them

the body oil i use is the palmers coconut body oil which is very affordable going under $10 i believe and this brand has been very good to my skin as well i love their coconut line. and another affordable drug-store body oil is the neutrogena one both unscented and scented i don’t have it personally (which will probably change soon tbh) but ive smelled and felt it in person before and loved it.

this routine gets my skin nice and smooth every time im soo obsessed, i hope this helps! ♡

Apropos of nothing in particular (but mostly prompted by the fact that I work with preteens who are incredibly judgy of each other and themselves), I just want to remind anyone who’s feeling self conscious that pimples are NOT a moral failing and an indication that you are ‘dirty’ or ‘don’t clean your face right’ or ‘don’t eat right’. 

Yes, there are foods that make acne less likely, and yes some things like sleeping on a towel/changing your pillowcase CAN help, but 80% of it is hormones, genetics and an amalgamation of irrelevant bullshit. 

Trust me - I eat so many fats and sugars, and the way I wash my face would make the skincare routine fandom riot, and I still have relatively clear skin because I simply got fucking lucky. That’s it, that’s the trick.
