look the idea that the same skincare advice is gonna work for everybody is such bullshit cause washing my face daily is the worst fucking thing i could do for my skin (besides doing a full skincare routine). it’s not your fault that your skin doesn’t look like your insane clean girl fave’s. they probably just don’t have skin that’s acne-prone the same way that yours is and also they’re trying to sell you things

how i got rid of my body acne and achieved the smoothest skin ever and also plan on keeping it hydrated during the colder months 🫧🧼🧴🚿
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i absolutely love and adore the naturium brand it really has transformed my skin and helped it so much ive used each product separately but get the best results using them together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THESE TWO BODY WASHES RIGHT HERE! ive had body acne for as long as i can remember and these two washes have magically made them go away. i notice when i use other body washes my skin tends to revert back into breaking out but these body washes help my skin so much and clear up my skin so well. i still am left with the scarring but they also have a vitamin c body wash for skin brightening that also exfoliates that i want to try out for my scars.
ROUTINE FOR SMOOTH HYDRATED SKIN:
1. the first thing i do is dry brush, you might not be able to tell the difference in the beginning but you will after and especially after consistent use.
2. the next thing i do is shower like normal and use shower tools to really help clean my skin whether it’s an exfoliating glove, wash cloth, loofah, exfoliating wash net,etc…(i recommend an exfoliating glove and wash net for a deeper wash and for extra smooth skin as well you will definitely notice a difference in the texture of your skin after!) i also of course use the two body washes i listed above, the salicylic acid one first then the multi-oil body wash after.
3. the thing that seals the deal…a body oil! yes you are going to use it right after you shower with water still dripping on your skin! (i pat very little water off my body so im not sopping wet reaching over for my body oil) but the water is the key into locking in the moisture when you rub the body oil in the water will be absorbed into your skin and you will not be soaking wet anymore, and the way your skin will feel after? SOOOO SMOOTH!!
after this i like to still layer on my smells through body lotions, body mists and perfumes because these have zero to little fragrance to them
the body oil i use is the palmers coconut body oil which is very affordable going under $10 i believe and this brand has been very good to my skin as well i love their coconut line. and another affordable drug-store body oil is the neutrogena one both unscented and scented i don’t have it personally (which will probably change soon tbh) but ive smelled and felt it in person before and loved it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this routine gets my skin nice and smooth every time im soo obsessed, i hope this helps! ♡

do you have any tips on hormonal pimples? or like teen pimples (idk what they r called) because i have so much of them but none of these toners and serums are helping.
Make sure to wash your face twice daily with a gentle cleanser. Avoid scrubbing your skin too hard, this can make acne worse.
Look for products that are labeled as "non-comedogenic," which means they won't clog your pores. This is especially important for makeup and moisturizers.
Products containing benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid may be helpful in treating acne. Start with a lower strength and gradually increase if needed.
Prescription strength retinoids can be very effective in treating acne, but they can be irritating to the skin. Talk to your doctor and start with a lower strength and use as directed.
Here are some product recommendations:
Cleansers:
CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser
Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash
Moisturizers:
Cetaphil Oil Control Moisturizer SPF 30
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Mat Mattifying Moisturizer
Salicylic Acid Products:
The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution
Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment
Benzoyl Peroxide Products:
Neutrogena Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Spot Gel
Acne.org 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide Treatment
Non-Comedogenic Sunscreen:
Neutrogena Clear Face Liquid Lotion Sunscreen SPF 30
EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46
Spot Treatments:
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion
Kate Somerville EradiKate Acne Treatment
The food you eat is super important for how your body's hormones work. Hormones are messengers that your body makes to control your growth, metabolism etc. They travel through your blood and tell different parts of your body what to do. Eating a good mix of healthy foods helps keep these hormones in check. Things like protein, good fats, fiber, vitamins, and minerals help make and control hormones. For example protein is needed for hormones like insulin and growth hormone, while healthy fats help with hormones like estrogen and testosterone.
Also, when you're stressed a lot, your body makes more of a hormone called cortisol, which can mess up other hormones. Moving your body through exercise can help with hormones by reducing stress and making you feel happy. Also, sleep is really important. Not getting enough sleep can mess up hormones that control hunger and fullness.
So, eating healthy foods, managing stress, staying active, and getting enough sleep are all really important. They help keep your hormones in balance and make sure your body works well.
Most importantly, don't let acne affect your self-esteem. You are beautiful just the way you are! Pimples are very normal and they do not take away from how amazing you are <3

How to glow up: physically and mentally *:・゚✧*:・゚
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
• Physical Glow-Up
Hydrate: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated, reduce bloating, and keep your hair healthy.
Skincare Routine: Develop a simple routine—cleanse, moisturize, and apply sunscreen daily. Tailor it to your skin type. For dry skin you should Exfoliate 1-2 times a week using a gentle exfoliant and focus on moisturizing. For oily skin look for products with salicylic acid or niacinamide to control excess oil and minimize the appearance of pores.
Exercise Regularly: Aim for 20-30 minutes of movement daily—walking, yoga, or a workout you enjoy. It boosts both mood and fitness.
Eat Nutrient-Dense Foods: Focus on whole foods like fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Your skin, hair and body will thank you!
Sleep: Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep. Rest is crucial for your body's recovery and your mental sharpness.
Dress for Your Body Type: Choose clothing that complements your body shape. Whether you're pear, hourglass, rectangular or any other body shape dressing for your body type can accentuate your best features and boost confidence.
Color Palette: Discover your seasonal color palette (e.g., Dark Winter, Summer). Wearing colors that complement your skin tone, hair, and eyes can make your features stand out. For example, deeper shades like burgundy or navy might suit Dark Winters, while softer tones like pastels might bring out the glow for Summers ( this includes makeup too! ).
• Mental Glow-Up
Set Goals: Set small, achievable goals, whether for personal growth or career, so you can feel accomplished and continue to push yourself to be better.
Learn Something New: Stimulate your mind by learning new skills, reading, or picking up a hobby that excites you ( This can be one of your goals ).
Surround Yourself with Positivity: This includes unplugging and spending less time on harmful social platforms. Spend more time with people who uplift you and avoid toxic environments that drain your energy.
Declutter: A clean and organized space can help clear mental clutter and give you peace of mind. Get rid of things that are taking up space or you don't use that much and stop making excuses to keep them.
Tumblr media
note: be happy, be kind and most importantly smile. You don't have to do all these things at once, take it easy and take care of yourself.

Skincare Routine for Hyperpigmentation
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hi! This is Ivy <3 I used to struggle. with breakouts, oil, and hyperpigmentation for about 3 years. Among other things, I tried some of The Ordinary and Good Molecules products in America, then Tretinoin (helped for a couple weeks) and biweekly facials when I moved to Shanghai. Nothing worked and my skin didn't significantly improve. I stripped my routine down to the essentials and started over again. I've seen MASSIVE improvements, so I thought I'd share with you all.
I started using Garnier Micellar Water to wipe my make up off.
I saw a tiktok saying that salicylic acid was good for darker skin tones. I went to Sephora and I bought the Inkylist Salycic Acid Cleanser. I swear by this now.
The first time I visited the pharmacy in Italy, I told the pharmacist what I was using on my skin (Avene) and she immediately redirected me to using the Effaclar Duo (+) as a moisturizer. This really helped prevent breakouts and slowly lightened my spots. It's really strong and I don't need it anymore. Now I use the normal La Roche Posay Moisturizing Lotion.
I switched my SPF out for some REAL mineral sunscreen. I loveee Bubbly Solar Mate SPF. Sunscreen helps even the skin tone and protects from further sun damage.
Clean off as much of your make up as possible before cleansing, keep your skin properly hydrated, and WEAR SPF.
I don't know what the science is or what magic cleared my skin, but my skin tone is so much more even, I rarely get any break outs, and I'm a lottt less oily.
-IVY

Yang: Pyrrha? You okay? You're kinda limping.
Pyrrha, a minotaur: Yeah I'll be fine, I just think I've got a white-line lesion. It sucks, and I can't see my doctor until next week/ i can manage though.
Yang: Is it anything like working on a cow's hoof?
Pyrrha: I ... don't know.
Yang: Clear the loose horn, spray with cleaner, dry, Put some salicylic acid powder wrapping on it, put a pad on the clean part of the hoof so that each leg is still level.
Pyrrha: Oh, then yes. It is.
Yang: Cool! I can handle that for you if you need!
Pyrrha: Really?
Yang: Yep! I can grab my gear and take care of it.
Pyrrha: I'd be really thankful if you did that for me Yang.
Yang: Then let's get to it!
~~~~~
Yang: *Doing her thing* You know, Ive always wondered how this felt.
Pyrrha: It's like getting your nails trimmed, but more? Does that make sense?
Yang: I guess- Oh! There it is!
Pyrrha: Oh! That felt good!
Yang: M-hm. That's a good bit of fluid. Either you've been hiding it really well, or it's not as painful as I thought it would be.
Pyrrha: Well, since there wasn't anything in my hoof, it was just some seperation, It's just uncomfortable, like any other infection.
Yang: *Spraying out the area* Well, you've been one of my best patients, and not too bad of company either.
Pyrrha: This has been one of the better experiences I've had.
Yang: Does this happen a lot?
Pyrrha: Most cows don't find themselves in combat on the daily, and even more rarely in gravel or on concrete, the best places to get these things.
Yang: *Wrappin her hoof up* And we're done. Thanks.
Pyrrha: No, thank you for doing this! Another week would've drove me mad.
Yang: Well, you can pay me back over dinner. how about tonight at eight?
Pyrrha: Sure! I'll be happy to see you then! I'll pay.
Yang: Sound's like a date!
Pyrrha: *Blushing* Um- yep! Cool!
Yang: *Oblivious* Just let me know if anything feels off. I'm sure it won't, but just in case.
Pyrrha: A date~! *Fist Pumps*
(Lab) Accidents Happen
(Read on AO3)
Tumblr media
(Little story based on this pencil drawing I did last night, plus some color added with my kid's random colored pencils, and cleaned up in Photoshop)
Tony Stark had only been home for about ten minutes when FRIDAY announced, “Boss, you have an incoming call from Dr. Banner.”
He finished loosening his tie and pulled it free, tossing it on the bed. He glanced at the clock out of habit, even though he knew it was late. He wasn’t ever in bed at this hour, but Bruce usually was. His brow creased in concern.
“Put it through.”
“Tony?”
“Hey, Big Green. Everything okay?”
“I just got a notice that there was a lab accident in Lab #8.”
“At this time of night?”
“Yeah, I looked at the footage, and it’s your kid. He’s fine, but I’m gonna let you handle this. I was just getting in bed.”
“Um, my kid? Not sure what you’re talking about,” Tony said nervously, slipping his shoes back on. “An issue with the chemistry lab is really your--”
“Go fix him, huh? He shouldn’t be in the lab this late on a Saturday night, especially unsupervised.”
“On it,” Tony said, resignation in his voice. Why did Bruce call Peter his kid? And why did Tony know exactly who he was talking about?
As he walked into #8, his eyes widened. What a mess. A very worried-looking Spider-kid was staring at a giant mound of frothy goo covering the table in front of him.
“Peter.”
The boy jumped, and a hand flew to the back of his neck. He wasn’t wearing a single stitch of safety equipment, and if Tony was right, he’d just smeared some of the  mixture along his neck.
“Uh… Mr. Stark? I thought you were at the gala!”
“I was, but I ducked out early. Care to explain what’s going on here? Why you’re in the lab, unsupervised, at this time of night? And what is this?”
“I…uh… it’s been a really busy weekend already, and finals are coming up next week, so I’m booked with study groups tomorrow, but I’m nearly out of web fluid, and I won’t have any time to make more this week, so if I didn’t make it tonight, I’d just be out, so I thought it would be okay if I just came in real fast to mix some up, but… uh…”
Tony was pretty sure Peter hadn’t even breathed during that little word explosion. Since no real explosions seemed imminent, he kind of wanted to laugh, but he made sure to keep his expression disapproving.
“All of that, and the fact that you’re not even wearing goggles aside, what happened?” His web fluid had never looked… yellow before.
“I don’t know, I swear! The salicylic acid was clear when I measured it in the beaker, but then as I started pouring it all turned yellow and just kind of grew and I was afraid it wasn’t going to stop. But it’s still sticky,” he finished, trying to (unsuccessfully) wipe his neck and fingers off with a questionable looking rag.
Tony walked over and looked at the different chemicals he had assembled. Everything looked good until he got to the salicylic acid.
“Not the acid, Pete,” he said, the disapproval in his voice very real now. If the teen had grabbed something else without double checking, this could have been quite dangerous instead of just messy.
Peter stared hard at the bottle Tony was holding. “Oh,” he said, surprised.
“Yeah, ‘Oh.’”  But that wouldn’t have made the whole thing turn such a weird shade of yellow. Tony picked up the beaker next to him, which still had some cloudy-looking, very yellow liquid in the bottom. He smelled it gingerly while the teenager found new spots the sticky liquid had attached itself to.
“Peter, did you wash this beaker before you used it?”
“Uh…”
“What was in it before?” Tony asked brusquely.
“I… don’t remember?”
His usually-sharp kid wasn’t firing on all cylinders. What was up? He eyed the sheepish teen, noting the smudges under his eyes.
“Kid, how much have you slept lately?”
“I’ve slept!” Peter said far too quickly.
Tony raised an eyebrow, waiting.
“Maybe not quite enough. Just with finals, and patrolling, and--”
“I see.”
“Mr. Stark, I swear, I just--”
“Let me tell you how this is gonna work. I’m going to call your aunt,” (Peter’s eyes went wide) “and tell her you’re staying the night.”
“But Mr. Stark! None of my study stuff is here with me!”
Tony continued, ignoring the boy’s dismay. “Then you’re going to go upstairs, shower, eat something, and you’re going to bed. In the morning you’re going to hope that whatever makes your webs dissolve in time will still hold true for this monstrosity, because you’re cleaning this up before you go anywhere.”
Peter nodded forlornly.
“Then I’m going to take you out to breakfast, after which you may resume your crazy study-group-frenzy of a day.”
Peter was smiling slightly now, though he still looked nervous about going to bed instead of getting a few more hours of studying in. His expression clouded again.
“But what about my web fluid?”
“Oh, that won’t be a problem. Spiderman’s going to be taking a break this week until after Peter’s finals are over.”
“But, Mr. Stark!”
“Uh-uh-uh! After your last final, and after a full night’s sleep, you may come back and make more web fluid, and resume vigilante-ing.”
“‘S not a word,” Peter grumbled, starting to put a few things away.
“You can do all that in the morning, kiddo,” Tony said, finally letting his voice soften and a hand reach to brush Peter’s shoulder comfortingly. “Shower. Bed. C’mon.”
Peter nodded in defeat, leaning heavily into Tony’s side as he wrapped an arm around the boy to steer him towards the door.
“FRIDAY?”
“Yes, Boss?”
“Lock down #8. No one comes in but me or Peter until it’s clean.”
“Dr. Banner?”
“Especially not Dr. Banner,” Tony said, eying the giant soggy mess on the table. “He’d ban us both from every setting foot in here again…”
Products I use for blemishes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Magnesium Sulphate paste: this is what I use on blind cysts and all those other painful, lumpy, under-the-skin sort of blemishes which you just want to bring to a head so that you can deal with them. It really doesn’t smell good, and it doesn’t tend to dry out easily, either, so I recommend applying with a cotton bud and then covering with a bandage or plaster of some kind, making sure that you don’t move the paste from covering the spot.
DMK Actrol Powder: this is the best thing ever for spots that are open, or nearly open, and oozing quite a lot of pus. You just dab a little bit on and leave it to parch and shrink literally everything in its wake. DMK is for professional use only, so I recommend asking a friend with an aesthetician’s licence to buy some for you.
Drying lotion: I buy mine from Boots because it’s cheaper than Mario Badescu and works exactly the same. This is useful for zits that are quite small, nearing the end of their little lives, and just need that last push to disappear completely.
Paula’s Choice BHA 9%: this is strong stuff, and I have to buy from the US because it’s not sold in the UK, but it’s so good for clearing congestion and painful blackheads which aren’t quite blemishes yet, but will be, given the chance.
Lion Pair Acne Cream W: this is from Japan and contains antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agents to prevent more acne from forming, and soothe and heal what’s already there. I use this at any point during the blemish’s life to reduce redness, keep the area clean and free of irritation, and prevent other zits from forming in the same place. It’s a cream and can be worn under makeup, unlike most of the other options on this list.
MediHoney: this medical honey is amazing for zits that really caused some grief and went down fighting. I use it to heal the sore skin after a painful zit has finally disappeared, and to prevent scarring from larger cysts and blemishes. I recommend applying with a cotton bud and then covering with a clean (preferably sterile) bandage, in much the same way as Magnesium Sulphate.
COSRX Master Patch XL: I find that different hydrocolloid patch brands work better than others, and COSRX is my favourite. Maybe it’s a placebo, but they really do seem to work quicker and more effectively, and they stick to my skin well, too. I like this XL size because it fully covers the spots and can be used to target a full cluster of several if needed.
Acropass Trouble Cure Patch: these are microdart patches with salicylic acid, and I like using them after my deep cleansing routine as well as to target specific zits that were born from congestion and need to be defeated thick and fast. They’re expensive, but they work very well in situations when plain hydrocolloid won’t cut it.
Salicylic acid is a total game-changer when it comes to achieving clear and healthy skin. This magical ingredient works wonders by deeply cleansing the pores, exfoliating the skin, and treating acne. It basically acts as a superhero, diving deep into the pores and dissolving all the gunk and oil that clogs them up. By doing so, it prevents future breakouts and keeps the skin looking fresh and clean. Moreover, salicylic acid is an excellent exfoliator, sloughing off dead skin cells and revealing a brighter complexion. This helps to unclog pores and reduce the appearance of acne scars. So, if you're looking for a reliable sidekick to fight acne and achieve a flawless complexion, salicylic acid is your go-to!!
no one asked but here's my skincare routine xx 🌚 (including pictures of all the products !)
Tumblr media
i'm a teen with acne-prone slightly sensitive skin that gets oily by the end of the day🧖‍♀️
(i'm 99% sure i'm allergic to salicylic acid bc it didn't help with my breakouts/caused them so i avoid it in my routine❕)
as a makeup remover i use the elf holy hydration makeup melting balm 🚿
Tumblr media
& a makeup eraser cloth 🧽
Tumblr media
for stubborn waterproof eye makeup i use garnier skin active micellar cleaning water all-in-1 waterproof (aka the blue one) i have a huge bottle of it :)💧
Tumblr media
(i want to start using reusable cotton rounds so pls lmk of any good brands !)
i just ran out but if i haven't worn makeup but my pores feel especially clogged i use the burt's bees oil cleanser 🥥 (you do have to double cleanse with a water based cleanser afterwards !)
Tumblr media
for a daily water-based facial cleanser i use two different ones
the cerave foaming facial cleanser 🧼 "oil control" on the bottle is no joke ! i don't get oily in the day anymore bc of the niacinamide in this :)
Tumblr media
but it can be a little drying/strong so i mix it with the cetaphil gentle skin cleanser 🛁
Tumblr media
i use this really cheap & generic silicone face scrubber for my nostrils/chin/sideburn-hairline area 🧽
Tumblr media
once a week i use this scrub pixi peel and polish its a mask with physical and chemical exfoliants
it smells like lemon cucumber water🥒 and can also be used for body acne on the chest, back, & arms !!
Tumblr media
once a week i use an AHA chemical exfoliant it's elf supertone toner 🌝 it has glycolic acid and is has a little bit of a lemony scent
Tumblr media
what i use as a daily toner is thayer's rose-scented witch hazel spray 💌 it calms down any redness i have instantly !
Tumblr media
i used to use the cerave daily moisturizing lotion but it was a little oily and it was impossible to apply makeup on 🧘 so now i use it on my hands before doing my facial moisturizer
Tumblr media
and for that i use a mix of elf holy hydration gel-yeah moisturizer and elf holy hydration face cream 💦 it's pretty self-explanatory but the former is a clear gel and the latter is a white cream, i adjust the proportions for my moisture needs :) ⛲️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
in the winter or if my face feels dry or in need of healing i use clinique moisture surge overnight face mask 🦪
Tumblr media
"mask" is a little misleading as you just apply it with your moisturizer like any other lotion 🧴 it's super hydrating, it's a little expensive but i got it as a gift and a little goes a long way ! :)
after a breakout has healed completely i use a little bio oil on top of my moisturizer to fade any dark spots/scars 🐚
Tumblr media
after i shower and exfoliate my lips i use this random lip mask from bath and body works that's watermelon scented 🍉 it's thick (a little goes a long way) and yummy
Tumblr media
i also use smith's rosebud salve in this tin 🌹 it's like a nice scented vaseline
Tumblr media
i don't use it all the time bc it's expensive but i love the mario badescu caffeine eye cream💆it's so good for my sunken dark circles ! but avoid getting it in your eye and keeping it in the bathroom bc it curdles if it gets too hot from shower steam
Tumblr media
for active acne spots i use might patch pimple patches 🩹regular for whiteheads and micropoint ones for swollen spots under the skin
Tumblr media Tumblr media
those are pretty expensive so for smaller spots i use mario badescu drying lotion overnight 🫧
Tumblr media
i'm pretty bad at remembering sunscreen in the morning but i just got the glow recipe dew balm with spf 45 and niacinamide 🌸 i love the glow and the light fruity scent :)
Tumblr media
i do want mention that my life-saver game-changer for stopping cystic acne (those painful lumps deep in the skin) and just acne in general has been hormonal birth control pills ! after i started BC for pcos/hormonal reason all of my breakouts decreased significantly🪽
Tumblr media
tysm for reading !! 🕊️ xx
Gotham beauty tip #1
Let's talk about cleanser. This city is hell on the skin. Between joker toxin, fear gas, general pollution, crazy plants, sudden incredible cold, and just general life, there are so many things that can affect your skin in our local environment. If skin care is something you care about then keep reading.
Why do we use cleanser? Well, to clear all the built up dirt, sweat, pollutants, sebum, and anything else thats settles into your face. This is extra important if you're a person that uses makeup. I use it twice a day - in the morning, and before bed. There are many kinds of cleansers and I think a chemistry degree is needed to actually understand what they all do, but I can give you the spark notes:
Oil cleanser - as in the name, it's made from an oil base. Good for removing oils off your face, such as make up, pollution, and excess skin oil. Usually used in a two step cleansing routine after a foam cleanser (more on those below). I usually only use this at night to help cleanse after wearing make up, but it's good at removing sludge and paint off your skin from experience too.
Cleansing balm : it's an oil cleanser but thickened into a balm or stick, less likely to leak everywhere if you put it in an overnight bag or something
Exfoliating cleansers: these guys cleanse and exfoliate at the same time. Exfoliating gently removes dead skin cells, excess sebum, uncloggs pores, and occasionally removes blackheads. Use these 1-2 times a week, and if you're not used to chemical based exfoliates, get something gentle. Like lactic acid. Personally I don't use an exfoliating cleanser, I just use an exfoliant.
Gel cleanser: simply, a gel formula. These are typically deep cleaning, and okay for most skin types, but typically a bit too drying on sensetive and dehydrated skin.
Foam cleanser: my favourite. You whip these guys up into a nice foam and it feels really nice on your skin. I use a couple - I have a salicylic acid based one for when I'm breaking out, and a gentle foam cleanser with enzymes in it for regular use. I use mine twice a day. Shockingly, does good in gothams' weird environment. Good for oily and combination skin especially.
Milk cleanser: has a milky or creamy texture, usually rather gentle and great for dry and sensitive skin types. Recommended that you use with a cloth.
So, a couple different types. How do you know what's best for you? That's what's tricky. Find out your skin type, or identify problems you are having - for example I have acne prone, oily skin, and look for products based around that. There are lots of ingredients that do different things in skincare, so it can be hard to know what to use. I like to online shop and Google what different ingredients do. I also look at reviews
my skincare routine for dry to normal skin (w/ links)
morning:
cerave cream-to-foam hydrating cleanser
the ordinary salicylic acid
byoma brightening serum (they only ship to the us and uk, sorry!)
cerave moisturizing cream
sun bum face 50
evening:
cerave cream-to-foam hydrating cleanser
glycolic acid 7% toning solution
the ordinary hyaluronic acid
cerave moisturizing cream
this is just what works for me so if yall plan on following this, do ur research. for example, do ur research on whether to mix certain ingredients together or not and when to use this ingredient (morning or night).
tips for clear skin:
drink water!! cliche, i know, but if u think your drinking enough water your probably not. i try to drink one gallon/3.7 liters of water a day. if your struggling to meet your goal, carrying around a water bottle helps (for me at least).
diet matters. if youre breaking out a lot, try eating less foods that have added sugar or foods that have a lot of oil in them.
don't pick at your face/pop pimples!! turning acne into literal open wounds is not going to help. try distracting your hands with something so u would be tempted to pick at it.
silk pillow cases are a lifesaver, not only for your skin but for your hair too! . cotton pillow cases carry so much bacteria that will irritate your skin. this can lead to breakouts. also try to wash your pillowcase every week or two weeks
don't wear makeup at home, your skin needs to breathe too
clean your makeup brushes
wash ur hands at least six times a day (according to scientists). ur hands are the most exposed part of your body, therefore they carry the most germs and bacteria
i know i sound like a broken record but whatever.
How to get rid of acne?
Introduction
Acne is a common skin condition that causes pimples and blemishes. If you have acne, it can be hard to get rid of. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to help treat your acne without resorting to harsh chemicals or treatments that might cause other side effects. Nowadays various anti-acne kits are available in the market. Here's how:
Cleanse twice a day
The first step to getting rid of acne is cleansing your face twice a day. Use a mild cleanser and follow these tips:
Choose a non-harsh cleanser that contains salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.
Make sure you wash your face thoroughly with lukewarm water, then dry off completely before applying moisturizer or makeup on top of it. This can prevent breakouts from happening when you reapply products later on down the road!
Exfoliate once a week to unclog pores
Exfoliating is an essential step in clearing your skin. You can use a scrub with salicylic acid or glycolic acid to help clear up acne, as well as microbeads, sea salt, and sugar. Jojoba beads are also great for exfoliation because they contain anti-aging properties that moisturize your skin as well as unclog pores.
Wear sunscreen every day
Sunscreen is a must for anyone who wants to get rid of acne, but it's especially important if you have oily skin or are prone to breakouts. The best way to keep your face clear of scars is by applying an SPF 30+ broad-spectrum sunscreen with an anti-aging formula every morning before leaving the house—and then reapplying throughout the day if necessary! Don't forget: You should also protect your ears, neck, and hands as well (just like normal!).
Use products with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide
Salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide are both beta hydroxy acids, which means they can help reduce the production of oil and inflammation on your skin. In addition to this, salicylic acid is also an antibacterial agent that kills bacteria that cause acne.
Both these products are available over-the-counter in many drugstores and supermarkets in different forms such as creams or lotions. However, it's important to note that you shouldn't apply them directly on your face since they may cause skin irritation as well as sun sensitivity (not cool). Try using them at night time before going out looking fresh! Always use the best acne scar removals products for treating acne and natural products give effective results within less time.
Don't sleep in your makeup.
If you have acne-prone skin, it's a good idea to avoid sleeping with all of your makeup on at once. You may be tempted to do so because it feels nice and clean, but if you don't use a good night moisturizer, the oils can clog up pores and irritate your face even more. Also: don't go out without washing your face first!
Use oil-free makeup and skin care products
You can use oil-free makeup and skin care products to help you get rid of acne. Oil may clog pores, causing them to become infected. This will make your acne worse because bacteria are more likely to grow in clogged pores.
Oil also causes breakouts by making the skin's surface look uneven, which triggers oil glands on the skin's surface that then produce more sebum (the natural oil found in human hair follicles). This extra sebum may flow out onto the face, causing pimples or blackheads.
Cleansing is the most important thing you can do to combat acne.
Cleansing is the most important thing you can do to combat acne. When you cleanse, it removes excess oil and dirt that can clog pores and cause breakouts. But don't worry: there are no harsh chemicals in cleansers like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid—they're just made to soothe sensitive skin.
Cleansing twice a day is crucial for fighting blemishes; make sure to wash your face in the morning (unless you have oily skin) and at night before bedtime.
Conclusion
We hope that you found this article helpful. Acne can be a very serious condition, but you can take steps to get rid of it by cleansing and exfoliating regularly, applying salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide products twice a day, wearing sunblock every day, and using oil-free makeup.
What does a face toner do? How should you use them?
We all know that we must follow the golden rule of CTM, where T stands for toning. You might wonder why cleaning your face with your favourite facewash is not enough? What difference a face toner makes?
First thing first, facewash can’t do deep cleaning for your pores. Skipping the application of face toner is a big mistake in a skincare regime and can be an open invitation to premature aging.
Toner is an important step in your routine if you want your skin to be radiant and healthy-looking. Sit back, relax and keep reading to know what, why and how toner can do wonders for your gorgeous face.
What do Face Toners do and why it’s a must?
Regular application of toner after cleansing your face helps you to get rid of any remaining dirt, dead skin and pollutant that can get lodged in your pores.
After cleansing, using a toner restores equilibrium in the skin, preventing it from feeling excessively tight or dry.
When you use toner consistently and as part of your daily skincare regimen, it can significantly improve the look and tightness of your face.
Toner is also helpful for balancing even skin tones.
If you are running late or want to have a couple of minutes on a busy day, face toner can give that extra hydration and can work as a backup of moisturizer.
It is an excellent method to start with a spray-on toner on your skin. For example, a toner with added refreshing mist like antioxidant hydramist toner can be a showstopper for your long days. Its antioxidant and mist-on formula will surely win your heart and place in your skincare bucket.
Including a face toner in your daily routine might aid in clearing your skin of extra grime and other impurities.
Pro Tips on How to use Face Toners
Start with a clean face and hands.
You can spray multi-active toner on your face directly.
You can add the toner to your fingertips or can add some amount of cotton pad and then can apply it on the face.
Avoid alcohol including toner, or go for toners without any strong fragrance.
Avoid toner which contains salicylic acid.
After applying toner, let your skin absorb it.
Try not to touch your face till it dry up.
Continue this practice day-to-day for better results.
Closing Thought
For a delicate part of your body like the face, you should always pick the best match according to the skin type.
For Oily and Acne Prone Skin: If you have oily skin as you suffer from acne breakouts often then soothing face toner is the key. Go for a water-based toner with added Butylene Glycol for quick relief.
For Dry Skin: For dry and sensitive skin types, you should always pick toners which can give you long-lasting hydration throughout the day.
For Combination Skin: If you have dry cheeks and an oily t-zone then go for weightless toner to avoid any irritation.
Remember consistency is the key to success. If you follow your skincare routine religiously your skin will thank you for sure.
