What was Marvel Comics obsession with redheads in the Spider-Man comics: MJ, Norman, Harry and Miguel (look in his early comic run) all have redish hair and were super fucked up even before any super power stuff happened. Don’t even get me started on Cletus Fuckin Cassidy

Hello! Not sure if you were asked this before or not, but are there some other spider-man villains, that you like besides Green Goblin? I’m mostly curious if anyone else’s design or motivations were as entertaining for you as Norman’s were! (also sorry if smth sounds weird. I’m not an english speaker)

Hiya! My favorite is obviously the Green Goblin (both Norman and Harry!), but I was in love with Eddie Brock/Venom as a kid. I think the 90's Venom comics were some of the only comics I've read LOL. I really love the design of course, cuz I like shiny black things with teeth. And his motivation is very interesting, being a weird Catholic jock that harbors anger but also got divorced by his wife and then gets cancer... Here's something I drew in middle school LOL.

Cletus Cassidy's Carnage is pretty fun the first time he's introduced! He's very one-note, just a curayyyyzy killer with an alien parasite. But skinny red venom is a good look and he's cute! Here's some high school art.

Not a villain, but JJ's the right amount of mean for a boss, and it's nice that he actually harbors some soft feelings very deep inside.

I also really like The Vulture, his whole thing being old as heck and afraid of being obsolete resonates with with me of course haha.

I love when The Scorpion is characterized as Just Some Guy with a new yawk accent. He just got tricked into putting on some armor, and he's got brooklyn rage about it.

And I REALLY love Morbius, especially from the 90's cartoon. He turns into a big man-bat and he's all emo about tfw no gf. I like vampires!

Do you think they'll get Cletus in the Venom 2 movie right? I have a bad feeling about this. I hope they get him right but I don't think so. I don't even like the looks of Woody Harrison as Cletus... :((((

Sorry this is so late, I kinda died on here. Not sure what brought me back honestly.

Anyway, I have not watched the full movie but I did see some clips. The change of hairstyle was a much needed improvement so I'm glad about that. His accent and demeanour is okay, I think. The symbiote itself looks great. I didn't like that whirlwind move though that was kinda dumb. The scene where he says "let there be carnage" or something along that line was really cool. Other notes, I did not like Shriek's design and I did not like the change of Venom's voice. It wasn't as deep and much goofier.

Foot pressed into the side of the others head, the act was probably a little unnecessary but it certainly set the tone. Not unlike the rope that kept Taylor’s wrists tied towards his ankles, leaving the other male helpless and at his mercy. Such a dangerous place to be when it came to someone like Cletus. Oh how the redhead was savoring the control that he had over Taylor, all while continually driving down and into his willing body. It was obvious as the day was long that the bartender had been manipulated by the group of badge wearing morons that frequented the bar. Nothing more to an lap dog. Perhaps worse since he wasn’t even thrown a bone every now and then. Little care was given to that status though when Cletus had laid eyes on him.

The desire had been almost instantaneous. Never being one for his self control or restraint, the focus had instantly been on flirting and buttering the other male up. It worked given they ended up in bed. He was pleased enough that he wasn’t even considering killing him. Eyes closed and his head tipped back as his hips moved, knees bending and weight pushed into each thrust, more than typical given the crouched position over Taylor.

“I don’t think you are being quite loud enough for me,” he murmured, words soft and light but holding nothing of the sort in their true meaning. “You better let those sounds flow a little more freely.”

-What in the living hell did you do this time ?

Cassidy was watching over a mirror-like window serving as a link between the red room and the real world, where mystery incorporated was already facing a new mystery.

-I honestly don’t even want to know.

Judy sighed, glancing over Cassidy’s shoulder.

-It looks like he found another way to waste my money…

Both turned their head, spotting an understandably pissed younger Ricky, sitting in one of the room’s seat.

-Can you even imagine how much hundreds of mutated cows cost ?! All that money, to track down teenagers and to find a stupid disk !

He sighed.

-Beside, I never wanted to hurt anybody… and yet it still happened…

Mrs Darrow put a reassuring hand on the boy’s shoulder, trying to comfort him.

-Honey, nobody here wanted to hurt anyone… Don’t be too hard on yourself.

-Beside, nothing that’s happening right now would be happening if some interdimensional creature whose name I will keep silent had deigned to mind their business and had left the human race alone.

Ed Machine growled, glancing at Nova who simply ignored him by walking to the center of the room.

-We have to be patient, the new mystery incorporated will be able to beat the demon, we have to trust them.

-That’s easy to say for you, said Cassidy, scoffing. You have nothing to lose, it’s not even your world that’s gonna get destroyed !

-I don’t see the problem, even if it’s not my dimension, I can still care about your world.

-Ah ! Shouted Danny Darrow, the kids have trapped the Queen, they are taking it out of Crystal Cove !

A sigh of relief was heard from everyone in the red room.

-See ? You have to trust them.

-Oh cut it out ! Jones snapped, before curling up on one of the red sofas in the room, that’s easy to say for you. Your body’s not being used by an evil entity who’s acting like a freak and neglecting your son !

He sighed.

-My meddling Fred, I hope he’s okay…

-Eh, I don’t think so, well, surely not after that.

Judy and Jones simultaneously turned their head to Cletus Darrow, who was worryingly watching trough the multi dimensional window.

-Brad’s launching a missile at Fred and their friends.

-I’M DOING WHAT ?!

Brad had been a complete mess since the Krampus incident and who had spent the week in a corner whimping and crying, no longer able to stand seeing himself in the real world. Seeing himself betray his son, snap at his wife, and blindly follow a mad parrot who had betrayed him years ago made him want to strangle himself. Literally.

-Why do we even HAVE a missile ?! And why on earth would I launch it on Fred ?!

-I don’t know, but you did. But you missed it so I guess they’re okay.

No answer came from the ex-redhead who had once again curled up in a corner, whimpering.

-Oh for god’s sake Bradley, Judy scoffed, clearly annoyed by her husband, stop whining, your son nearly died !

Another sniffle, coming this time from the mayor, accompanied those from Brad.

-My poor Fred… my meddling Fred…

Cassidy sighed, before shooting an exasperated look at Judy.

-You should go talk with those two stressed out whining idiots before I whip their ass.

-Got you.

Nova observed the rest of the room with an odd look, before clearing her throat.

-Well, the important part is that we have to trust the new mystery…

But before she could actually finish her sentence, the whole room turned to her, shouting their lungs out.

I really liked how Spider Man 2 used so many fan favorites and that one does not need knowledge to have such a fun time with this game.

I definitely think this is GoTY due to how well they have progressed Peter Parker and Miles Morales’ stories. I think that while it should stay a single player game; it is pretty nice how they have their combat styles pretty great for a team up.

Spoilers ahead:

The story is excellent. It’s about time I see a Harry with a story that made sense ( I..didn’t like that Peter didn’t want to help Harry nor how he didn’t disguise his voice in The Amazing Spider Man 2. However that’s how I’d imagine Harry and Dale DeHaan did a phenomenal job so it’s cool) and that one hopes that wherever his story goes; you are still going to root for him and hope he wakes up. Norman Osborne was great because the story always makes it clear that he is the villain but you almost wish he’d change with what happened to Harry and Emily but..we know he never will. Not even to save Harry.

Peter Parker’s story. Such a great story for a character who’s going to take a backseat in the next game. I also love how the alien messed around with his inner dark thoughts. It makes me forget the awful Spider Man 3 and that’s more what I’d expect out of Venom. I mean…those were some serious venomous thoughts about Miles Morales and everyone. Like ..wow…. But at the same time; it was great they went that direction. After all, Venom with Tony Todd as the voice actor?

Then the Spider Friends bit was just so heartwarming ..and then breaking. But still, what an amazing job they did with that arc. I’m also glad that Mary Jane had her story and even improved the fact she should be a mini character but give her some cool gameplay. It was nice that Peter moved out the city and decided to stay in Aunt May’s home.

Miles Morales’ arc was so good. From him and Hailey becoming a couple, or rather he will take her on a date finally to him being able to live downstairs from his Uncle Aaron to him and Martin Li. That was some great stories and side missions for Miles. Mysterio arc was pretty good. I liked how it started to seem off after a few missions but since I was having fun; I just ignored the clues lol. I did think Peter was definitely far gone because when he snapped at Rio Morales; I thought “ oh this is how Peter Parker dies. RIP buddy”. Not to think Spider Man 3 game but it will be interesting to see where he goes from here.

The side missions themselves are great. It’s nice seeing all the Easter Eggs and also, I really didn’t even realize some of the characters were who they were and that’s what made the game even more fun. From Cletus Cassidy to Yuri as Wraithe which made it pretty fun. The DLC, whatever it is, it’s be nice to see where that goes..but we don’t need anymore Black Cat.

The scenery is amazing. They really outdid themselves and it’s pretty great that it looks like New York ( I’d assume from pics and movies lol. Never been) and that it’s just so animated. The cast was great. The gameplay is awesome and I highly recommend.

Uh oh, decided to give Cass a Brotherhood of Mutants arc where she becomes her universe's Carnage and kills Sabertooth and Magneto is able to use that guilt and anger to win her over to his side 👀

Cass only becomes Carnage after she finds out about Cletus Kasady from other Spidermen in Nueva York. When shes talking about how she enjoyed being Venom, one of the other spiders points out that her name is very similar (Cassidy Carver) and she might be a variant of Cletus. She isn't, really, but she gets so paranoid about her potential for Carnage that it becomes a self-fullfilling prophecy. For the Carnage symbiote, it's about succeeding where Venom failed - forming a longterm bond with the person that rejected his predecessor. For Cass its that hunger for power and violence that was unearthed while she was Venom. The two form a very Sabertooth-esque version of Carnage, hungry for violence and easy to manipulate. Eventually Logan finds Cass' watch and contacts Miguel, blaming him for Cass' turn to evil. He demands Miguel come help him win her back and the two are able to do it together.

After Cass returns to being X-Spider, anomaly Sabertooths start popping up pretty regularly in Eath 9612, which Cass takes to mean that killing her version of Sabertooth wasn't supposed to happen. She hates dealing with these alternate Sabertooths, especially since some of them are on the Xmen's side.

Hey, so what's up with the Peter getting kidnapped by Ock and Carnage? I know it's about Spider-Man stuff (duh), but what are the specifics? It looks like he's beat up a little, too. Did he have a battle beforehand as Spider-Man or did he get roughed up while trying to get away?

tbh i just needed an excuse to get peter parker and doc ock in the same room and that was sort of the first thing that popped into my head. if there wae an explanation for carnage being there, i've completely forgotten. sorry lol.

on the spot? i'll assume this-

considering cletus cassidy and doc ock both spent time at the same place (ravencroft), i can assume that they've likely either had conversations, or that cletus at least knows who ock is, and vice versa.

going off of that, it's not a stretch to think that doc ock might enlist the help of carnage in killing spider-man, possibly trying to use peter parker, famed spider-man photographer, as bait.
