My brain slightly broke when I learned about climate change as a kid, and it broke irreparably as a teen when I realized that it wasn't a technical problem but a societal one.

I want everyone buying into the idea that never being exposed to viruses and bacteria is a good thing to please study history. Maybe even. Maybe American history. I remember a lack of immunity towards certain things having some significance? Or maybe look into why people are concerned about climate change releasing old microbes from permafrost?

Do you mean Swift? If so, then I like some of her music, but definitely am not a fan of her as a person. I don't like her whole underdog act when she is one of the richest and most privileged people in the world, and I especially do not like that she is so rich and so privileged that she feels justified in personally adding an unnecessary amount of pollution to the world during a climate crisis by going wherever in her private jets all the time

god honestly everytime i hear more and more about climate change n shit the more i start feeling more and more hopeless i know its awful to feel hopeless and i need to have hope but. bro. the earth is gonna keep being killed and and im gonna have to be here to witness it. i don’t want to be here when the world goes to shit. i don’t want to feel the guilt of knowing i just had to sit here and watch the bullshit happen because im too young to do anything

i know its kinda stupid to say but honestly the people who die young have a point. like, obviously im not going to kill myself because i have people to live for and i have shit i wanna do, but. god. i hope one day i will be able to kill every fossil fuel CEO with my bare fucking hands or atleast watch them die a brutal death. goddamnit.

It’s the beginning of fire season, so I’m going to share this memory and some advice I learned the hard way.

In fall 2020 the wild fires on the west coast were so bad that you could barely see 15 feet at times. Where I lived the aqi hit 590 at one point. We could not evacuate and we had no insulation in our house.

The gas masks saved us. Me and my roommates taped our windows shut and wore respirators in the house for a week. I did this sketch of them while we were watching the muppet movie one night.

Most of you will have experience a fire or smoke storm at some point, this is not going away. Smoke inhalation can have permanent and long term effects.

Get a respirator mask, and get replacement filters for organic and biological material. They can be as cheep as $12, and even if you don’t think you’re at risk, it is not something you want to find out you need afterwards. If you can afford to, get extras. Someone you know might need it.
