Peter: when you ask for someone's name, you're essentially asking them what noise you should make to get their attention
Tony: Kid, what the fuck?
Harley: we should ditch names. You can get my attention by making the squeal of a bat bathing in cranberry juice on the night of a full moon.
Tony: ...
Peter: *viciously squeaks*
Harley: yes?
Peter: you wanna get pizza?
Harley: absolutely

Save My Tears - Part 2
Tumblr media
Tony decided to host another one of his famous Stark parties. This time, his excuse was that you are single again, and that Natasha and Bucky had something going on. What he didn't know was you and Natasha didn't quite end in good terms, cause she broke up with you. And of course... that you still miss her so god damn much.
So there you were, in your room, mentally preparing yourself to see the love of your life with her soon to be boyfriend. You didn't want to go, you absolutely wanted to just run away. But you couldn't. You had to show that the break up didn't affect you as much as they thought it did, even if it really did.
A knock on your door pulled you out of your thoughts.
"Come in." The door opened and revealed a redhead. You smiled sadly at the woman, it wasn't your redhead. It was Vision's.
"I told you I'm fine, Wands." You tried your best to give her a genuine chuckle. Wanda didn't seem to be convinced though.
"You look good, L/N. Trying to impress somebody?" Wanda said as she leaned against the closed door of your room.
"You already know the answer to that." You said as you shook your head, standing up to apply perfume.
"Just tell her, Y/N/N. I mean, you should shoot your shot before it's too late. I heard Buck's gonna ask her to be his girlfriend officially tonight." Wanda announced, watching you intently as you try desperately to calm your nerves.
"What am I supposed to say, Wands? Please take me back, I miss you so much, I know you broke up with me but I want you back?" You sarcastically said as you scoffed. "Plus, I don't wanna ruin what she has with Bucky. She must like him so much if she made their relationship public within three days of seeing each other."
"She isn't happy with him, and we both know that. I care about Natasha too, Y/N, I want her to be atleast happy with who she's with. Plus, how can you know she doesn't want you back if you haven't even asked?" Wanda asked with a raised brow. You didn't dare to make eye contact, just staring at the perfume bottle on your hand. "Think about it, alright?"
Wanda left your room, leaving you alone with more thoughts than you had 30 minutes ago.
Stark decided to go to the next level for this party. He had a stage in the middle of the living room, a bunch of speakers, and a mic stand.
The party was more lively than normal. Everyone was teasing the future couple, much to your annoyance. Natasha and Bucky were the center of attention.
Apparently, Bucky loves getting all that recognition and attention, but deep down you know Natasha doesn't. Your ex-girlfriend loves parties, but she doesn't like it when she's the center of attention. Bucky doesn't seem to know it considering he's showing her off like she's just a trophy.
You sat at the bar, alone, drinking your Aunt Roberta cocktail. Clint approached you, Tony right behind him. You didn't acknowledge them, just continuing to watch the 'It Couple' as Tony calls them.
"You okay, Y/n?" Clint asked with a small smile. You're guessing he didn't know what happened, you didn't know if Natasha told him how she broke your heart. You just nodded in response, drinking down the last of your cocktail.
"They're such a nice couple, right? Natasha and Bucky? I'm not glad you and Nat broke up but I'm glad they found each other." Tony said with a grin, oblivious to the fact that you want to punch him in the face.
"Mhm." You responded with another nod. You couldn't do this sober, but the alcohol wasn't doing anything.
"Hey, Y/N, you should sing! You have a great voice, right!? You used to sing for Natasha when you were still together!" Tony slurred out, obviously intoxicated now. Clint nodded in agreement, both trying to convince you to sing.
You didn't want to, you weren't in the right mood to put on a show.
However, when your eyes drift to Natasha and Bucky slow dancing to your song, 'Wonderful Tonight' by Eric Clapton, the same song you two always danced to, you snapped.
You cleared your throat to steal Tony and Clint's attention. You stood up and fixed your suit's jacket. The polo you were wearing underneath had three buttons unbuttoned, showing just enough for men and women to go wild.
"I'll go sing, Anthony. The tablet beside the mic is connected to the speakers, right?" You asked as Tony nodded eagerly. He always liked it when you sang, saying you had a specific vibe he couldn't get from other singers.
Before you could fully walk away, Clint shouted at you, making you turn around and raise a brow at him.
"Go get your girl back." He mouthed then winked. You rolled your eyes at him before flipping him off.
When you reached the stage, Steve got off and handed you the mic with a smile. You sat down on the chair, everyone was surprisingly cheering for you. Mostly everyone's eyes were on you, excited for the song you were about to play.
You didn't dare to look into the audience, in fear of meeting those green eyes you used to call home. The fondness in them wasn't for you anymore, anyways.
"Hey, everyone. I hope y'all are having an amazing night. I do hope you enjoy these songs I'm about to play." You said as you clicked the instrumental version of the song you chose, on the tablet.
Going back to the corner where I first saw you
Gonna camp in my sleeping bag, I'm not gonna move
Got some words on cardboard, got your picture in my hand
Saying, "If you see this girl can you tell her where I am?"
(Italics are flashbacks)
Three days after Natasha broke up with you, you decided to drive to a park where you two always went on. You sat on the exact bench where you asked her to be your girlfriend. Not a lot of people walked by, it was a slightly secluded area.
You stared at the lake in front of you, watching as the ducks you always used to feed with Natasha swim towards you. One duck in particular, the one you named Nibbles, the one you considered your child, approached you and stood on your foot.
You smiled sadly at him, caressing his fluffy head.
"Hi, Nibbles. Your mama isn't here, I'm sorry. We won't show up together anymore, buddy. I still promise to visit, okay?"
People were giving you weird looks but you didn't care. You just gave the duck a piece of bread that he dipped in the lake before waddling back to you so he could eat it beside you.
And how can I move on when I'm still in love with you?
You met those green eyes while singing the particular line. You couldn't read it, it had too many emotions for you to decipher. You saw her smile faltered though. You gave her a small bittersweet smile as everyone around you was singing along to the song and nodding their heads to the beat.
'Cause if one day you wake up and find that you're missing me
And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I could be
"Where the fuck is Y/N, Wanda?" Natasha asked, barging in the younger redhead's room.
Wanda's head snapped to her door. She saw Natasha was holding the letter you left in her room over and over again, memorizing every sentence. A few tears escaped, but she immediately wiped them away. She saw how the 'Love Always, Y/N.' was smudged, like it got wet from a teardrop.
"What do you mean, Natasha? I thought you knew she left. She's gone, Nat. She left for a no-contact mission, even Fury doesn't know when she'll be back." Wanda said flatly, standing up to kick Natasha out of her room.
"Why'd you care anyways? Miss her?" Wanda said sarcastically with an eye roll.
"She didn't tell me." Natasha murmured, stepping out of the room.
"Why would she? You broke up with her, remember?" With that, Wanda closed the door to her room, making sure to lock it.
Thinking maybe you'll come back here to the place that we'd meet
And you'll see me waiting for you on the corner of the street
You walked around the park, even walking the streets where you two would 'window shop' but you end up buying her everything she looks at. Your feet stopped when you saw the familiar ice cream parlor on the corner of the street.
You remember taking her there on your first half-anniversary, right after you two finished a mission. The mission was rough, it didn't physically hurt any of you but it did take a toll on your mental states. You wanted to cheer her up and distract her so you made up an occasion to convince her to go eat ice cream.
Policeman says, "Son, you can't stay here"
I said, "There's someone I'm waiting for if it's a day, a month, a year.
Gotta stand my ground even if it rains or snows
If she changes her mind this is the first place she will go"
Your eyes met Steve's and he gave you a small smile. He remembers it too.
It was your first winter without Natasha. You were sitting on a swing in the park right in front of the compound. No one else was there except you cause it was cold and snowing really hard.
You felt someone sit on the swing beside you. It was Steve. He gave you a small comforting smile, nodding his head to greet you.
"You can't stay here all night, Y/N. It's cold, you should come in." He said in a low voice, trying to stay as casual as possible.
"I'm fine." You said, giving him an unconvincing smile.
"You're still waiting for her?" He asked. You looked at him but he was staring ahead.
You nodded timidly. "Always."
There are no holes in his shoes but a big hole in his world
"You're my world, Natasha." You murmured into her hair. You were cuddling in bed, her head on your chest.
She looked up at you, her ethereal green eyes staring up at you, filled with adoration. She smiled, that same smile that never fails to make your heart flutter no matter how many times you've seen it.
"I love you, детка." She whispered as you leaned down to press a soft kiss on her lips.
"I love you more, my Natalia."
Going back to the corner where I first saw you
Gonna camp in my sleeping bag, I'm not gonna move
When the last note ended, some were clapping, some were silent and looking at you in worry. You furrowed your brows, realizing a tear was currently rolling down your cheek.
You saw Clint giving you two thumbs up while Wanda was smiling sadly at you. You tried looking for your redhead, but you couldn't see her anywhere. Even Bucky wasn't there.
You bit your lower lip, trying to control your emotions. Did they leave together? Were they currently having the time of their life in Natasha's bedroom? Did Natasha bring Bucky to the rooftop like you two used to? Why did she leave?
You sighed and decided that you're going to take her absence as an answer to all your questions.
She moved on.

His Inheritance ~ Chapter 29 Preview
Tumblr media
I'd really, really like to post this Sunday. I'm trying...
“Is there anything else you know, Sweetheart? Anything at all?”
Oh, she did. He knew that look.
“What?” he asked.
“It involves Yelena,” she said, holding his gaze.
“This is not the time to bargain with me—”
“Oh, I’m not bargaining for anything,” she informed him, anger hardening her expression. “Yelena will be back where she belongs when this is over. She’s loyal to me and it was out of that loyalty that she told Clint where he could find Banner.”
“Excuse me?” Banner was supposed to be gone. Long gone, off to the west coast.
“He was still here,” she told him. “On Stark’s turf. He needed to be dealt with and Clint deserved a go at him.”
The way his wife spoke, the fire in her eyes. It mirrored the anger he was struggling to keep down right now.
“Think about it,” she said. “Yelena gave him that information. Then he calls Nat, tells her we’ve been ratted out and Barnes knows everything. We’re all in danger.”
Steve stared her down. “You think Banner is the rat?”
She shook her head. “Banner’s involved, but he’s not the rat. He didn’t know what you had planned for tonight. And he had no access to that information unless it was from the rat who did. But he was still here. Banner was hoping for something, and it wasn’t Nat. What did Barnes promise him?”
What indeed. She had a point. Banner had sworn to Steve he’d be gone, and he was still here, on Stark’s turf. Someone promised him something important.
“You think Stark is involved?” Steve pressed.
“No,” she said. “I don’t really know him. But from the impression I got, he wouldn’t be that stupid.”
It was his thought exactly about Tony Stark. Jesus. Who was this woman he married?
“Barnes?” She shrugged. “Well, that remains to be seen.”
“You’ve talked to Belova,” he said.
“And she is on her way to the location she gave Clint,” she explained.
“Alone?”
“No, she’s with friends,” his wife explained.
“What friends?”
“All I know is that they are friends of Dyson,” she said. “And if he trusts them, and she trusts them, then so do I.”
Not a hint of doubt or hesitation. His wife stood toe to toe with him, talking about the dangers of his world with authority.
“But we have no idea where Dyson is.” Now her expression softened. The smallest trace of fear in her eyes. “I tried to call him from Nat’s phone, Luca called. There’s no answer. He’s supposed to be going with Neal to deal with Hansen tonight. Steve, we have to find him.”
Scrubbing a hand through his hair, Steve nodded. “We do. We really do… Dyson didn’t take it well that I pushed Belova out.”
“I’ll bet he didn’t,” she said bitterly.
“You got in his head about Neal,” Steve told her. “Neal said something about Belova Dyson really didn’t like. He beat the shit out of him, right there in my office last night.”
Steve saw the flash of excitement in her eyes at that. Just as quickly, it diminished.
“Jesus, Steve. Dyson’s walking into a trap between Hansen and Neal.” His wife shook her head, her teeth tugging at her lower lip nervously. “He’s dead if we don’t do something.”
Steve knew she was right. If Neal was who she thought he was.
“You really think Neal is the rat here?” he asked.
“I know he is, Steve.”
It was then he realized something. The conviction, the certainty she spoke with? It was all too familiar.
It all very much reminded him of her father. Every bit of it. And her father had been a hell of a leader in his time. He would never have found himself in the shit situation Steve let himself fall into.
He would have trusted her father without question. But could he put aside who he thought Neal was?
Pulling her phone out of the pocket of his slacks, he handed it to her. “Call Dyson. One last try before I start making hard decisions.”
She took the phone without hesitation, hitting Dyson’s number with haste and putting the speaker on so he could hear. It only rang once before someone answered.
“Hi there, Princess,” Hansen drawled.

Home Alone
Tumblr media
Summary: Natasha is your mom and when she dies Clint takes you in. You fall in love with your friend, Kate Bishop. You confess to her while the two of you are home alone.
Kate Bishop x GN!YN
Platonic!Clint x YN
Mention of Mom!Nat x YN
smut!! There is a warning so you can skip it if you want 🫶🫶
yn has fem reproductive organs but no pronouns are mentioned.
Natasha had adopted you after she left became an avenger. The two of you were close and she often taught you self defense as a way to bond.
When your mother had sacrificed herself for the soul stone, Clint had immediately taken you in. He comforted you on the days where you cried yourself to sleep.
You had always seen him as an uncle, but the two of you grew much closer after your mother's death.
You had met Kate shortly after you permanently moved in with Clint. At first you were nervous around her but you soon became friends.
She had no idea that you liked her much more than just as a friend.
You adored her eyes, giggle, and hair. You loved the way she spoke to you and the impression she left on you.
It was like you were only ever happy when near her. And Clint had realized. He saw how happy she made you and it relieved him that you finally had your happiness.
However, you were petrified. What if she hates you? What if she finds you repulsive? As horrible thoughts occupy your mind, your anxiety worsens.
You start to pick at your nails when Kate sits next to you on Clint's couch and puts her hands on yours. "Are you okay, YN?" She asks in a concerned tone.
You nod before responding; "yes, yes I'm alright. Hey, Kate... Can I ask you something?".
"Of course, go ahead." She tells you sweetly. You want to change the subject and give up, but it's too late now.
Plus, Clint isn't home so now is the best time to do it without being interrupted.
"I... I like you. A lot. I think I love you." You rush out as your voice starts to shake.
She grinned at you and leaned in for a kiss, which you returned.
-SMUT STARTS HERE.-
You push her forwards onto the couch as you deepen the kiss. She grips onto your hair and flips you so that she is on top.
You break away as you gasp for air and she kisses your neck with an intent to leave a mark.
You reach for her breast and squeeze it softly as she lets out a quiet pant.
She puts her hand up your shorts before looking up for your permission. You nod and she begins to play with your clit. She plays with it until your about to come and she stops.
She pulls your shorts down and shoved a finger into your pussy. She begins to stretch you as you get her finger wet.
"You like that, hmm baby?" Your eyes water as she continues to go in and out while still rubbing your clit. She slows down and threatens; "answer me or I'll stop".
You nod and shout out "please! Yes, yes I like it. I love you. Please, please touch me." She giggles at your neediness before pushing in another finger and speeding up her motions.
"Kate, I'm going to come..." she speeds up and lets you ride out your orgasm. Her fingers are soaked with your cum and she slows down before pulling her fingers out and shoving then into your mouth.
"Aww baby, come on... let's get you cleaned up." You nod as she guides you to the bathroom to dry yourself.
She kisses your cheek as she uses a towel to wipe off the sticky cum from your skin.
You hug her and smile as you take in the moment. The pace of her breathing. The scent of her hair. The touch of her skin on yours. You love her and she loves you.

Chapter 1- Top Secret Job
Y/N L/N POV
“Why am I up at 6am on my rest day Barton?” I gruffly huff out to the blonde haired agent and best friend that is stood in front of the coffee machine with a shit eating grin on his face, he places a steaming cup of golden nectar in front of me before sitting down in the chair next to me.
“A little birdie told me a certain redhead is due back home today and I thought you’d might like to have advanced warning to make yourself look presentable” His words making me straighten up in my seat, my excitement about seeing my favourite person again after a week clouding Clint’s second part of his sentence.
“Oh shit I forgot it was today! Could you take my newbie training for me Clint? Great thanks!” I cheerily say back as I jump up from my seat and running to my room, smirking to myself when I hear the loud groan come from the man when he registers that he has 4 hours with the useless newbies and not a day sat in the vents catching up on all the gossip about Coulson and May.
Natasha and myself have had an eventful relationship, myself and Clint were the pair that was tasked with eliminating the Black Widow. After a painful game of cat and mouse that lasted over two weeks we finally managed to trap Natasha in, seeing the fear and desperation swimming in her eyes is an image that will stay with me forever, we could see that she was just a young girl who needed to be saved from the nightmare that she was submerged in and so we went against orders and the rest is history.
Fury was not impressed at all and ordered myself and Clint to be the ones responsible over the girl, thus creating the three musketeers. We three became the best of friends and a very well oiled and efficient machine, Natasha learning to put her trust in us whilst we helped open her eyes to the way of the real world.
That was 5 years ago and Nat has settled very well here in SHIELD, Fury having a soft spot for the woman while both Coulson and Maria adopting her into our little agent family. I must confess whilst on that elimination mission I was floored by how beautiful the redhead was, something that grew along with feelings during the years together, something that cumulated with a new years kiss and confession time between the two of us. That had happened last new year and we have been together for the last 5 months, this latest mission has been the first solo mission since we became an item and these last two weeks has sucked royally.
I enter my room without looking up as I start to walk towards my wardrobe to pick out some homecoming friendly clothing, what I failed to notice however was the certain someone sat on my bed with a cheeky grin.
“Why are you looking for clothes when you in your Pjs are all I need?” I jump up in my spot at the sound of the low voice, swirling around on the spot to face my bed as my face instantly brightens.
‘Nat! You’re back” I shout with glee as I run and jump on top of Natasha, pushing her down onto my sheets beaming as I hear her loud giggles.
“Hey malyshka, I’ve missed you so much” Natasha softly tells me with a gentle smile, I capture her lips with mine as we share a passionate kiss before separating when air became scarce.
“Me too, you can’t leave me alone with Clint again… he is exhausting” I groan as I push my face into her chest, my head bouncing as her laughter vibrates through the pair of us.
“Ok my love, never again” I feel soft lips touch the crown of my head as I nuzzle into her neck, breathing in the scent of strawberries and coffee that is so unique to Natasha. I don’t respond I just press a kiss to her neck before closing my eyes, letting the sound of her heartbeat the warmth of her arms lull me into a peaceful slumber.
———————————————————————————————————————————
Natasha Romanoff POV
“Fury needs to see you Romanoff” I gaze up from my book to see Maria Hill stood in front of me eating an apple, I close my book with a grunt as I narrow my eyes at the dark haired girl in front of me.
“I’ve only been back for 3 days Hill, why can’t Clint do his work for once” I huff out like a little child, Maria chuckles at my displeased tone knowing that since little Lila was born Barton has not been called out onto the field.
“Fury says he needs someone with your skill set, don’t ask me what that means just go before he sends Coulson after you” Maria says before walking off, leaving me no choice but to get up and find out what I am needed for.
“Ahh Romanoff so nice of you to join us, please take a seat” I roll my eyes at Fury before turning to see the other person sat in front of the director, I walk over and press a gentle kiss to her forehead with a gentle smile before sitting down into the empty chair next to her.
“Now what is so important that you call both of us in here, knowing that it’s only been 3 days since i’ve come back from a 14 day mission?” I huff out the question to a glaring Nick, smiling smugly when I hear the gentle giggle coming from the love of my life.
“I have a job for you both, it is top secret and highly important so I need my two best field agents involved” this peaks Y/n’s interest as I see her lean forward in her chair, all playfulness wiped from her face.
“What is it? Is it related to Tasha’s last mission?” Y/n asks as she grasps my hand with her own, I let a small shiver flow through my body at the thought of having to go back to sleeping with those assholes.
“No they have been passed on to Coulson and his crew now, no this is something much more important. I need you both to pose as secretaries to two people high up in a multi million dollar business, I need a report done on the man to say how compatible he is for our team we are prepping.” The Avengers? This guy is going to be part of that? The only people we know for sure who are on this high level task force is myself, Y/n and Barton if Laura can kick him out of the house long enough.
“Ok so we go in pose as people close to these people, gain their trust and find out all of their dirt? Sounds easy enough, who’s the guy in question?”
“Tony Stark, the man known as Iron Man.”

Ties That Mend -Part 1
Tumblr media
TW/CW: Alcohol, Tony's self destructive tendencies, if there's any more let me know and I'll add them!
A/N: This is something I started many years ago, I just never finished it. I'm currently working on the next few parts, I'm accepting suggestions on where this should go too! It's not the best but I hope you enjoy.
Lugging your suitcase behind you, you hesitantly walked into the elevator. You pressed the button that read 'Floor 12' and waited as it made its way up. You were nervous, you didn't want to be here. Unfortunately, being the newest Avenger meant you had to stay at the tower against your will. You were not impressed.
You finally reached your desired floor, before taking a step out. All eyes drifted to your current position and you felt somewhat nervous. They all stood and made their way over to greet you. You extended your hand towards them, allowing them to shake your hand if necessary. A red headed woman was the first to introduce herself. "I'm Agent Romanoff, I'll be your training partner and mentor. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. Director Fury assigned you to me for a reason. He deems you worthy, now prove it. As an avenger, you have responsibilities and commitments. We look out for each other, okay? Don't screw up." She warned. All you could do was nod in agreement, your eyes slightly widened. Her face softened and that's when she let out a small chuckle. "You can call me Natasha. I promise, I don't bite. I'm sorry for scaring you."
You relaxed as she took your hand and shook it, before turning to the man that stood next to her. "This is Clint. He's annoying, but you get used to it." She earned a groan of playful annoyance from him before he shoved her. She proceeded to introduce everybody else, until she got to the last few members. "Hey, I'm Sam." He smirked, sending you a wink. You couldn't help but scoff. "And I'm not interested." You shot back before turning to the next guy.
"This is Tony, I’m sure you’ve probably heard of him. He owns the tower, designs the equipment we use. Also, his ego is bigger than his wallet, so be warned." She joked. You turned away from him quickly, forcing your attention on anything else. His face dropped, but he quickly fixed it before the others noticed.
"I'm Y/N." you smiled. "Can somebody show me to my room?" Tony was quick to offer his assistance, but you brushed it off. "Nat, do you mind? I do have a few questions…" she agreed and you grabbed your suitcase, following her closely. Tony sighed, pouring himself a whiskey and knocking it back quickly.
Reaching your room, you thanked Natasha, politely declining her offer of assistance before closing the door behind you. Deciding you would unpack, you emptied your possessions onto the floor. You organised your clothes, placing them in your wardrobe shortly after. Your bathroom was then full of toiletries and you even hung up a few photos. It finally suited your style. By the time you finished, you were exhausted. You just wanted to sleep. Unfortunately, sleep was one of your biggest struggles. If you slept more than four hours, or even slept without a nightmare, it was guaranteed you were becoming sick, which also wasn't very often.
A voice filled your room, alerting you that dinner was being served. You knew it was Jarvis. Making your way to the dining room, a familiar scent filled the air. A small smile graced your face as you entered the room, your favourite meal presented on the table. Taking a seat in between Bucky and Clint, you waited until everybody else had loaded their plate before taking your own portion and tucking in. You ate in silence as conversations erupted around you, each person enjoying the food prepared for them as they socialised with their team mates.
"Y/N, why don't you tell us about yourself?" Steve suggested politely. You hesitated, unsure of what to say. "I-uh, I'm not that interesting. There's nothing really important about me." Tony scoffed, causing everybody to raise their eyebrows and turn their gazes to him. You rolled your eyes before continuing. "What do you guys want to know?"
This time, Wanda was the one to ask. "Is there a significant other we need to know about?” She wiggles her eyebrows in a teasing manner, causing you to blush profusely. After shaking your head, Sam piped up. "In that case, how about you and I get to know each other?" The rest of the team laughed as he sent you a wink.
"Like I said earlier bird brain, not interested." You playfully shot back. His right hand lay over his heart and he feigned hurt, causing you to roll your eyes again. "We heard you're pretty smart. In fact, you have similar knowledge to both Tony and I. It'd be nice to have your input on a few projects if you're willing to?" Bruce smiled. You smiled back, nodding your head and confirming your availability to help. Tony watched you inquisitively throughout it all. "You must've had a real good education. Where did you go?" Bruce asked again.
"I was homeschooled, taught by my father until he passed, my brother until the age of 16 and then my Aunt. By then, I knew everything there was to know. All I had to do was go to college to take the exams, the rest is history." You replied. “Your brother must be an exceptional man. I'd love to meet him one day." Bruce responded. You gave a small nod, brushing off any emotions. Steve spoke up again. "So, do you like jogging?" He simply asked. "I do, I go twice a day. Know any good spots?" You questioned. "Sam and I actually go twice a day too, you're more than welcome to join us." You smiled, thanking him before finishing your food.
"Would you care for a drink?" Thor held the amber liquid out to you. Shaking your head, you declined. "I don't drink." You stated casually before standing up and clearing your plate. The rest of the team did the same and you decided to excuse yourself before they could ask you anything else. You bid them goodnight, walking into the elevator and eventually back to your room. Your nightly routine commenced and you slid into your bed, laying in the darkness until your eyes fluttered closed and you fell into a deep slumber.
You were already awake when Steve knocked on your door at the crack of dawn. He was surprised, but didn't think too much of it. You met Sam in the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of water before making your way to the ground floor and exiting the tower into the cold air. It was refreshing, to say the least. A smile graced your face once again as you made your way to the park. Sam thought it necessary to explain the 'on your left' situation and you were glad. Steve ran ahead of you both. You started off slow with Sam, easing yourself into the exercise. Once you got into a rhythm, you sped up and quickly approached Steve who was miles ahead moments before. "Hey Rogers, on your left!" His face was priceless as you overtook him, a smug look plastered on your face. This continued until you were all satisfied with the miles achieved, making your way back to the tower immediately after. "You got heart kid." He complimented as you exited the elevator. You rolled your eyes as Tony came into sight, a glass of whiskey glued to his hand.
"Tony, it's 10 in the morning. Could you not wait?" Sam enquiries. Tony chuckled, knocking back the drink before pouring himself another. "Isn't it too early for you to be on my case?" He shot back rather defensively. You were somewhat relieved when Sam took the alcoholic beverage and disposed of it, snapping Tony out of his self-destructive tendencies temporarily.
You began walking off, eager to jump in the shower to rid yourself of the sweat. The footsteps behind you got closer and a tight grip around your arm stopped you. "Did you put him up to that?" Tony asked rather harshly. You laughed in the least humorous manner. "I didn't do shit, Stark. Let go of me." He refused, roughly tightening his grip as you stumbled back into the wall. "You need to grow up, Y/N." he sneered. "You have no control over me. As far as I'm concerned, you're dead to me,” you announced, wiggling from his grip and walking quickly to your room, slamming the door and locking it.
You kept your distance for the next few weeks, avoiding Tony at all costs. During dinner, the tension was high and it was clear to everybody you did not get along. If only they knew. Of course, Tony was planning to throw another one of Stark's famous parties much to your dismay. You made it clear you would not be attending.
"But Y/N, it's the first party since you joined! You have to come, it'll be fun. Please?" Wanda begged. You shook your head. "I don't drink, nor do I like parties. I never have." You admitted. Tony rolled his eyes at this statement. "If she doesn't want to go, we can't force her." Bruce defended you. "Don't worry Y/N, I won't be going either." You sent him a thankful smile before walking back to your room, leaving them to plan.
A few days later, it was Tony's party. Hundreds of guests arrived, causing the levels of sound to increase dramatically. The DJ let the music blare and the tower practically shook. The whole team dressed to perfection, giving you a smile before going down to the lower level. You sigh, flopping onto the sofa with your laptop as you begin typing out your work. Fury would kill you if you didn't get it in on time. Bruce checked up on you, bringing you a tea and a few snacks to help you focus. He sat next to you, enjoying your company as you spoke continuously about your research. It had reached 11pm when Bruce began growing tired. He politely excused himself, wishing you a goodnight before traipsing off to his room. Many hours later, the rest of the team made their way up. It was clear they were absolutely wasted, their inability to stand was a major hint. You couldn't help but laugh when Clint tripped and Natasha fell down beside him, laughing harder than she usually would. After helping them off the floor, you lead them to their rooms and ensured they were safe in bed before making your way to your room.
Slipping into your pyjamas, you closed your eyes. Unfortunately, sleep did not come. A loud crash caused you to shoot up from your bed, you grabbed your gun and tiptoed throughout the tower until you found the culprit. Tony was sprawled out on the floor, the glass from the now broken coffee table underneath him. You mentally groaned, you did not want to help him. You knew you couldn't just leave him there. You studied his body quickly, discovering a small cut to his face and hand. Reaching down, you managed to pull him up (with great difficulty) and supported him until you reached the infirmary. Throwing him onto the bed, you grabbed a few supplies.
"Get away from me, what are you doing?" He asked, slurring each word. "You're hurt, I'm helping you." You told him. Using the tweezers, you carefully took the shards of glass from the wounds. He winced, trying to pull away but you held him down. Next, you cleaned it. He let out an audible groan but all you did was roll your eyes. It was his own fault, after all. Luckily, it wasn't too deep. You bandaged his hand and stuck a few steri-strips to his forehead, closing the small wound. You were about to move him again, when he stopped you.
"You don't care, why are you helping me?" He asked. You thought for a moment, not looking him in the eyes. "Because if I didn't, who would?" This silenced him. You steadied him on his feet, before throwing his arm over your shoulder as you took him to his room. You lay him softly, taking his shoes and jacket off and throwing his duvet over him. He seemed satisfied as you lay painkillers and water on his nightstand before turning around. Just as you turn the light off, you hear him. "I know you hate me and I'm sorry..." his snores fill the room as you close the door, brushing off his words and making your way back to your room. "Jarvis, wipe all cctv footage." You demanded. "As you wish." He complied. Soon, you fell into a deep sleep.

Anonymous request: Imagine being Clint Barton’s trans son
Sometimes it was hard to have an Avenger for a dad. For once, that wasn’t actually the hardest part. Him being away a lot had actually made part of this easier. It gave you more time to plan and prepare.
You thought about a letter, an email, a text. Ultimately you decided against them all though. You wanted to tell him face to face. You still wrote out a lot of what you wanted to say but you didn’t want to be reading off a script when you talked to him either.
When he got back from the latest mission, he and Natasha came back to the house. It had been an easy one they said, by Avengers standards of course. Once you were sure that everyone was safe and still as mentally stable as they had been when they left, you asked to pull your dad aside for a minute.
“What’s going on kid?” He asked. He could tell you were nervous, you were fidgety and looked from him and then away and back several times.
“Dad there’s something I need to tell you. About me.”
“Are you okay? Has someone-” His mind raced to a hundred bad things that could be going on before you cut him off.
“I’m fine. I’m just, I’m just not who you always thought I was.”
Was it bad that his first thought was that you were secretly an Asgardian sent to Earth as a baby or something like that?
You read the confusion on his face and quickly continued speaking.
“Dad I’m transgender. I’m a boy. And I want you to call me [Y/N] and your son and a brother and-”
This time you were the one cut off as your dad pulled you into a hug. You wrapped your arms tightly around him and even though you were happy and relieved, you were fighting back tears.
“Son, daughter, anything else. it doesn’t matter buddy. I love you.”
“Thanks dad.” He could here that you were choked up and held you a little tighter.
“Should we go tell your Aunt Nat while she’s here, or do you want to wait?”
“We can tell her now.” You said.
Your dad let you drop the hug first and stepped back when you let him go.
“Are you okay?” He noticed your eyes were watery but he didn’t want to press you.
“Yeah, I’m good. Happy.”
He put a hand on your shoulder and guided you back out to the porch where Nat had gone to wait for the two of you so she wouldn’t accidentally overhear anything.
“Aunt Nat?”
“You both good?” She asked, picking up that both of you had been near tears moments ago.
“Yeah we’re good. Aunt Nat, I’m trans. Could you call me [Y/N]?”
Natasha smiled, then put on a fake frown.
“Clint you’re subtracting from my niece tally.”
Your dad smiled and you laughed.
“Sorry to disappoint.” You smiled.
“I guess I can live with it.” She sighed, winking at you.
With those two out of the way, telling the rest of the Avengers was easy. Your dad brought you to the compound and helped you tell everyone and educate them. Thor needed the most help with terminology but everyone was very supportive. Tony immediately had Jarvis update your records and pronouns in the system.
Everyone was lovely about it, truly.
But your dad was on a whole other level, rivaled possibly only by Natasha. Around the house, you got a Nerf gun to correct people if they misgendered or dead-named you. The idea caught on and soon all the Avengers found themselves shot with little darts if they got it wrong. Everyone became remarkably fast learners.
Your dad doesn’t do much press, not like Steve or Tony, but it makes you smile every time he talks proudly about his son.
He made arrows with trans colors on them that spew colored smoke and disorient a person. You helped him design them after all the gender reveal party fails you saw online.
He’s not so good at dealing with all the bureaucratic nonsense that is the American healthcare system, but it’s impressive what doors being an Avenger opens. If/when you decided you want to pursue medical transition, he’s very supportive. Hormones, surgery, he’s got your back through it all.
The first year after you came out, you asked him to take you to pride. You ended up getting a little more than you asked for.
It started out just the two of you. You walked around, saw the booths. Your dad was happy to see you happy. You got some merch, and your dad bought himself some stuff as well. He asked you questions, you guys talked to people. It was nice, and pretty low-key all things considered.
After some time wandering, you saw a collection of familiar faces approaching.
“I hope you don’t mind, I invited them to join us.” Them of course meant the rest of the Avengers, some of whom stuck out more than others. They all wore varying degrees of pride gear, from Natasha who wore a black shirt with an abstract design in trans colors, to Tony who had gone full rainbow.
The now large group of you walked through the festival together, with everyone talking and laughing. Some asked you questions about words or flags or memes that were unfamiliar. Thor had a lot of questions about how he had become a lesbian icon and what his duties entailed.
At the end of the day, you all went your separate ways.
“Was that good?” Your dad asked as he drove you both home.
“Yeah it was. Thank you for taking me, and for coming, and for inviting them. It was fun.”
“I don’t think I’ve actually said it to you yet, but I’m proud of you. Not just for this, because I know coming out and that is hard. But I’m proud of you. My son. I’m proud of the man you’re growing into.”
You smiled. You wished your dad could be around more, selfishly, but more than that, you were proud of what he did and who he was. You wanted to be like him in so many ways.
“Thanks dad. I love you.”

After a week of being on bed rest, Kate was finally let out of the infirmary, though she still wasn't able to do much, including training and missions, which annoyed her but was a relief to me since it meant less chances of trouble.
Instead, she helped me come up with a way to tell Clint that I wanted to hold off on the archery training for the rest of the month and instead give hand to hand combat training more work with Natasha. That was easy to set up, since Nat loved me, so 'I' was able to talk her into giving 'Kate' some personal training. Clint and Nat were both okay with it, so that made one thing easier in my life.
"You better make me look good in front of Natasha," Kate was saying after we told Clint the new plan. "She's the Black Widow. I can't be caught slacking."
I chuckled as I peeled my orange in the kitchen. "I know, don't worry. I'm good at making impressions. She's gonna love training you, and when we're back to normal, you're gonna be in Nat's good graces.”
Kate grinned. "Hell yeah."
I rolled my eyes, hiding my smile, and began to eat my orange as she told me about her obsession with Natasha's fighting style. I'd like to say I was listening, but my attention was stolen by Wanda who was stood by the dining table, talking to Bruce about something or the other.
She looked good today, I wouldn't lie, wearing a tight vest top and some joggers that accentuated her curves in all the right places. Her red hair was pulled back into a ponytail, exposing her sharp jaw line and pursed lips as she listened intently to whatever Bruce was blabbing on about, and I found myself biting my lip as I subtly checked her out.
Suddenly, I was slapped on the arm harshly and I jumped at the contact, snapping out of my daze.
"Dude!" Kate exclaimed with a look of disgust. "Quit it!"
When I saw myself looking back at me, I remembered who and where I was and straightened up.
"Shit, sorry, Kate," I said quietly so nobody could hear. "My bad."
She still looked horrified as she stole my orange from hand. "Yeah it's your bad!"
I snuck a final glance at Wanda, feeling a pinch in my chest, before following Kate out of the kitchen.
————————
When I was working out in the gym one day, I didn't expect Wanda to approach me and ask if I wanted to spar with her. And then I remembered she was asking Kate and not me, so I agreed for Kate's sake because she'd been mithering me constantly about building a friendship with Wanda for her.
"You've got powers," I said to Wanda when we got into our positions on the mats. "You're not gonna, like, use them on me, right?"
She chuckled at my expression. "C'mon, Kate, I'm not mean. It's a no powers gym anyway. I was actually hoping you could teach me a thing or two. Clint says you're a martial arts professional. I'm barely average without my powers, so I thought you'd take it easy on me."
"Right..." I licked my lips nervously. "I guess I can do that."
She smiled playfully before making the first move. Thankfully, hand to hand combat was a strength of mine, so mirroring Kate's abilities in this department wasn't difficult. I'd sparred with Wanda many times, so it was easy to anticipate her moves. She was probably the most powerful Avenger of everyone, including the other powered Avengers, but she wasn't wrong about her combat skills needing work, and I managed to land her on her back quite quickly.
"Shoot, sorry," I said when she hit the mat with a thud, feeling bad when her face scrunched with discomfort. "You okay?"
She sighed before smiling reassuringly. "I'm fine. It's part of the job."
I held out my hand for her and she accepted it, letting me pull her up carefully.
"You're seriously good," she said, before quickly adding, "Not to sound so surprised, of course. You wouldn't be here if you weren't! I just– it's a shame we haven't worked together as much. Maybe that should change. Especially with how you handled our last mission together."
I wasn't sure what to say even though I knew this would probably make the real Kate pass out from excitement, so I simply smiled in response.
We continued to spar with one another, keeping each other on our toes and putting up a good fight before deciding to take a quick water break. I spotted myself AKA Kate when we did, so I approached her with my water bottle to see how she was doing. She couldn't exactly work out because of her injury, so I wondered what she wanted.
"Did I just see me and Wanda Maximoff sparring together?" she asked with excitement when I stopped before her.
I smiled with amusement. "Yes, you did. She asked and I knew you'd kill me if I said no."
She squealed, shoving me with enthusiasm, before catching herself and calming down instantly. I raised an eyebrow at her self control, impressed.
"So, how's it going with Wanda and you?" she asked considerately.
"Alright I think... she actually manages to talk to me without glaring which is always nice."
"That's because you're me and not you," she reminded me, bursting my bubble.
"Right," I said with a sigh. "How's things going for you?"
She shrugged, before a smile appeared on her lips. "I was talking to Natasha earlier and we actually had a cool chat about a mission she did not long ago. It was awesome. And she's actually pretty funny when she wants to be."
"Yeah, she tends to reserve her jokes for her friends," I said with a stifled smile, "hence why you've never heard any of them."
Realising what I was insinuating, Kate nudged me in the arm harshly. "Arsehole."
I laughed at her pout. "Okay, I should get back. Remember not to overwork yourself, yeah? Take it easy."
"And remember to make me look cool in front of Wanda," she replied, and I rolled my eyes playfully.
We went our separate ways and I returned to Wanda on the mats. She smiled at me when she spotted me, before her eyes drifted over my shoulder and she grew distracted. Her smile faded as she focused on whatever was behind me, so I stepped in front of her line of sight.
"You alright, Wanda?" I asked, and she snapped back into reality, blinking.
"Huh? Yeah. Sorry. Let's continue."
I quirked a brow, glancing over my shoulder to see Kate talking to someone by the gym doors, and realised she was staring at her, or rather me.
"Why don't you go and say hi?" I encouraged Wanda, meeting her gaze.
She considered it, to my surprise, but shook her head. "No, it's alright."
As she took another sip of her water and put the bottle to the side, I asked, "Are you just going to never speak to her again?"
She frowned slightly at my words. "I don't know, Kate."
It was wrong of me to say, but I couldn't help it. "It looks like you miss her."
Her jaw tensed, but she didn't snap like I thought she would. "It doesn't matter. Forget that. Let's just train, yeah?"
I hoped that meant she did because I missed her, too. So much. And all I wanted to do was tell her that.
————————
Just when I thought I could keep my distance from Wanda like I should have been doing since the start, I was invited to go out for food and bowling with her and Clint as Kate. I tried to decline, but Clint was insistent that I deserved the break and needed to take time to unwind as well as work, so I had no choice but to attend.
Kate was jealous that she couldn't actually go, which was why she forced me to be enthusiastic when I went, so for her, I made the effort to enjoy being there like she would have.
It started off fun, to my surprise. I saw a different side to Clint, since he was closer with Kate than he was to me, and I also saw a side of Wanda that she hadn't showed me personally since we broke up. Pretending to be Kate made it easier to get lost in the moment and enjoy my time with the other two Avengers.
And just like that, my fun was cut to a halt when Clint got a call during our third bowling match.
"I'm sorry, guys, but I'm gonna have to miss the rest of this get-together," he said once his call ended. "Family emergency."
My eyes widened at the thought of being left alone with Wanda, but Clint didn't notice as Wanda was looking to him with concern.
"Is everything okay? Is it serious?" she asked thoughtfully.
"Oh, yeah, nothing too serious, but I gotta help out Laura," he said with a reassuring smile, before looking to me, too. "Have fun, Kate, yeah? You deserve it."
I nodded slowly, watching him wave goodbye to us both before leaving. Wanda looked to me with a smile, oblivious to the panic I was feeling.
"Looks like it's just us," she said. "How about we finish up this game then get some food? I'm starving."
I smiled nervously. "Sounds good to me."
Her smile widened and she moved past me to have her go since it was her turn next. I closed my eyes briefly, praying to God that this would go smoothly, before turning around to pretend to be Kate.
To my surprise, it didn't go terribly, and bowling with her wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. She was making light conversation about some stuff from work, asking about how I was doing with training, and I could pretend that I wasn't secretly pining over her for a moment.
"You know, I thought you were supposed to be good at bowling," she said after I had another go, and she looked like she was trying not to laugh. "Hand eye coordination and all that?"
"Hey! I'm actually trying here!" I defended with an amused smile.
She chuckled and went to have her go, getting a strike instantly. I rolled my eyes playfully when she walked past me with a proud smile, before taking my go. I was never good at bowling and I didn't find it enjoyable because of that reason, but I felt the need to impress Wanda. So, I took a deep breath and swung the ball, only to scrunch my face up when it went into the lane next to us and knocked over their pins.
"Shit," I mumbled, before looking to the group beside us. "Sorry! Sorry!"
They waved it off, but my face was heating up as I went back to grab another ball. Wanda was laughing at my dismay, eyes squinted and smile wide. She looked stunning, but I had to remind myself who I was right now.
"That was an accident," I told her knowingly, before going in for another go.
Thankfully I didn't miss this time, and knocked my pins down in both goes before returning to Wanda.
"You're almost as bad as Y/N," she commented with a nostalgic smile. "Probably just as bad."
I smiled nervously. "Yeah, it's amazing how friends can pass on traits, huh?"
She didn't seem to pick up on my words as she grabbed a ball. "Come on, I'll show you how it's done."
Not having a choice, I joined her side and expected to just be watching her demonstrate how to make a good throw, but she placed the ball in my hands instead. I forgot how to breathe when her hands wrapped around mine and she took a step behind me. It was all friendly in her eyes, of course, but I was freaking out, naturally.
"Okay, you're gonna pull it back like this," she narrated as she moved the ball back with me, "and then throw it like this!"
Together, we threw the ball and she stepped back to see if I'd made the throw successfully. I was barely paying attention as I was too busy hoping she couldn't hear my racing heartbeat or see how nervous she made me. She smelt so good.
Fuck, no. I was Kate, not me. I couldn't think that.
...but God, she did.
"Hey, you got a strike, Kate!" she exclaimed joyfully, patting me on the back. "See? It's not so hard."
It was hard to avoid her contagious happiness, and I was soon smiling at her sparkling eyes and matching smile. So freakin' beautiful.
We finished our game shortly after that before grabbing some food at the diner in the bowling alley. As we were tucking into our burgers, Wanda sighed contently and looked to me with a smile.
"This has been really fun," she said sweetly. "Just what I needed lately."
I quirked a brow. "What d'you mean?"
She shook her head. "Nothing. I just meant it's been nice to hang out with you outside of work. First time for everything, right?"
Noticing she definitely had something more to say, I set my burger down and gave her a knowing look. "Wanda, c'mon. You can talk to me."
She distracted herself with her food, thinking momentarily, before sighing and meeting my gaze. "It's been hard lately. Without Y/N."
"Right..."
"You were right when you said I missed her," she admitted, referring to our brief conversation during training the other day. "I do."
My heart began to ache when she said that; I didn't think she cared anymore.
"I'm sorry," I said softly.
She shook her head, eyes falling to her burger. "It's not your fault. It's just annoying. I'm trying to move on, but she just keeps haunting me at the back of my mind."
I frowned, seeing the conflicted expression on her face and only imagining how she must be feeling. Without thinking, I rested a hand on hers on the table and squeezed it gently.
"I'm here if you wanna talk about it," I told her, hating that she was conflicted because of me.
She smiled a little, but it didn't reach her eyes. "Thanks, Kate, but you were Y/N's friend first."
"And I'm your teammate, too," I reminded her. "I'm here for you just as much as I am with her."
She rested her other hand on mine, squeezing it in response, before letting go. I lowered my hand and watched as she nodded gratefully.
"I'll get over it eventually," she said, and I wondered if she was trying to convince herself or me. "Right now, everything is just reminding me of Y/N, so it's hard."
"Like bowling."
"Yeah..."
I sighed regretfully. "Maybe bowling was the wrong choice of plans for tonight. Still too soon to be reminded of your first date."
"Exactly," she agreed sadly, before blinking and looking up. "Wait, how d'you know that bowling was our first date?"
Fuck.
"Oh, er," I racked my brain for an excuse, "Y/N told me once. Said she took you to a bowling alley."
She hummed, nodding in confirmation, and I breathed out with relief at my quick thinking. I couldn't let that happen again or she'd definitely suspect something.
"You know, Y/N still talks about you," I said. "Like with the date for example. And basically anytime it's relevant."
She glanced up at me with what I think was hopefulness. "Really?"
"Yeah," I said, before a smile crept on my lips. "She tries to pretend she doesn't like you, too."
Wanda gave me a disapproving look, though a smile ghosted her lips. "Very funny."
My smile widened. "I'm just being honest, Wanda. Calling it how I see it."
She rolled her eyes, but her smile became more prominent, and I'd never seen such a perfect sight.
————————
I'd like to think that as time went on, Kate and I became pros at being one another, and that nobody suspected a thing, but that was far from the truth.
Anytime Kate would do something out of the ordinary as me, I'd get given a look that was something along the lines of did she wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?
And I wasn't any better to be honest. The amount of times I failed to react in a Kate-timely fashion to certain things that happened, such as being allowed to help Tony out with one of his new suits or sitting in on one of Steve's meetings with a charity who we sponsored, was too common. Those weren't out-of-the-ordinary situations for me, but Kate Bishop was still new to the team, and pretending to be excited about said stuff was painfully difficult.
The only person who thought to question it however, was Wanda. And that was probably only because she knew me too well and definitely noticed a difference in how I was acting compared to usual, or cared enough to say something.
I was heading out with a book and my water bottle when Wanda found me in the hallway, falling into step with me.
"Oh, hey, Wanda, what's up?" I asked, before taking a sip of my water.
"Hey... this is random, but do you think Y/N is acting strange lately?"
I almost choked on my water as I widened my eyes. "Erm, what? What do you mean?"
She glanced at me with a distracted gaze. "I don't know, she's just being different, don't you think?"
I tried to remain calm as I answered, "How do you mean?"
Playing with the ends of her hair as we walked, she said, "Well, for one, she doesn't usually wake up so early in the mornings. She's not a morning person at all. Yet lately, she's always the first one in the gym. And I don't even know why because she can't work out properly because of her shoulder."
I cursed out Kate in my mind, wondering why she was ever a morning person in the first place. And also, why did she still insist on doing some sort of exercise when she was injured? Kiss up.
"Maybe she just wants to change things up," I suggested, hoping it was reasonable enough for Wanda to agree with, but she shook her head with uncertainty.
Her eyes showed her determination to find out the truth as she looked to me. "I dated the girl for four and a half years, Kate. She would never just suddenly decide to be a morning person."
I broke our eye contact for fear she could read right through my lies, and cleared my throat. "It's not a big deal, Wanda. I reckon you're just overthinking it."
Ah, yes, the good old gaslighting technique. How polite.
"It's just strange," she said, chewing on her lip. "Like the other day, I overheard her talking to Sam about some trend on TikTok or whatever the app is. I didn't even know Y/N knew what TikTok was."
I laughed nervously whilst mentally killing Kate in my head. "She doesn't live under a rock, Wanda, give her some credit. And I've definitely shown her TikToks in the past."
She sighed, running a hand through her hair. "Maybe she's just different now..."
I glanced at her, seeing the frown on her lips, and wanted nothing more than to kiss it off her. "You could talk to her. She might not be as different as you think."
Wanda shook her head slightly. "I don't know."
"You don't have to, but she might just want to talk to you, too," I said carefully, trying to read her expression, but she was doing pretty good at hiding what she was thinking.
"I should go," she finally said, avoiding answering, before giving me a small smile. "Catch you later, Kate."
"See you later," I said halfheartedly, eyes following her as she turned to leave.
————————
My words to Wanda must have made some difference, more than I realised, because Kate approached me barely two days later with a suspicious grin.
"What is it?" I asked, hoping she hadn't done something that would get us in trouble.
She nudged me eagerly. "Guess."
I rolled my eyes. "Kate." She was adamant that I guessed, so I sighed dramatically and said, "Okay, did you book a holiday?" She shook her head. "Did you steal Sam's falcon wings?" Clearly not, since she shook her head again, so I said, "Did you realise how annoying you are and decide to leave me alone?"
"You're very bitter to say that your ex-girlfriend just talked to you for the first time properly."
It took a second for me to realise what she said, but when I did, I looked to her and realised why she smiling suspiciously.
"Wait, what? Wanda spoke to me? When? Where? Why? What did she say?!"
Kate laughed at my eagerness. "I feel bad now. It wasn't actually a conversation. She just said good morning to me when she made her coffee."
My smile grew wide at the thought. "She did? That was it?"
"That was it."
I rested my hands on her arm, pleading with my eyes. "And what did you say?"
Kate quirked a brow with amusement. "I said it back?"
I grinned. "You said it back."
"She smiled, too, if that makes a difference."
"She smiled, too," I repeated with a lovesick grin.
Kate chuckled. "I thought you'd wanna know. This means she's talking to you again, right? Congrats, I guess."
I hugged Kate tightly. "Thanks, Kate. This is huge."
"Anytime, idiot."
Wanda was talking to me again, and that was the first step.
————————
It was hard to think about anything other than Wanda as the month went on. Now that I knew that she wasn't entirely ignoring my existence anymore, all I wanted to do was make the same effort back, and it was infuriating that I couldn't because Kate was in my body.
I wanted to tell Kate to try and show more interest in Wanda, but she was as awkward as they came and I couldn't blame her since I was in love with Wanda and she was in awe of her – two very different things. So, I just had to make do as was, which meant treating her as Kate would and trying very hard not to go beyond that threshold. It was hard though – I missed her so much.
The communal area was rarely used unless several of us finished a mission at the same time, so the TV was always free and I preferred the couch over my bed. Planning to spend the evening there, I grabbed some snacks from Kate's snack drawer and went over. Only, to my surprise and initial disappointment, somebody was already there.
Before I could turn and leave, the person poked their head around the TV at the sound of me coming in, and I realised it was Wanda.
"Oh, hey, Kate," she said when she saw me, smiling.
"Hey, Wanda," I said with a small smile. "Sorry, didn't mean to disturb."
"You didn't," she assured me, before nodding to my hands. "Are those snacks I see?" I looked down, remembering I was holding food, and looked up to see her trying not to laugh. "You were planning on sharing, right?"
"I guess I am," I said playfully with a sigh, and her smile widened as she moved over on the couch to make room for me. "Chocolate or gummy worms?"
"Surprise me."
I jumped on the couch beside her and gave her the chocolate before digging into the packet of gummy worms.
"So, what are you watching?" I asked, glancing at the TV and vaguely recognising the show from something she'd watched before.
"Bewitched," she said between bites of chocolate. "I can change it though if you want to watch something else."
I shook my head, leaning on the armrest and trying to make out the episode. "No, it's fine... this is the one where that guy is a frog, right? He's trying to get Tabatha to turn him back into a frog?"
It was ringing a bell as the episode played on, since it was something Wanda had forced me to binge watch with her several times when we were together. She always loved the old American sitcoms and so I had to love them, too, but I didn't mind because it was adorable watching her explain the plot.
"You've seen this before?" Wanda asked, raising an eyebrow with disbelief. "I would have thought this was before your time. Like waaaaaaay before your time."
Suddenly feeling nervous under her stare, I bought myself some time by chewing on my gummy worm before saying, "My grandmother used to watch this show when I visited her as a kid. I guess I recognised it from that."
"Huh." She accepted it and nodded, looking back to the screen. "Well, I used to watch this all the time as a kid, too. And then it just stuck with me. Y/N was nice enough to buy me the box set when she caught me watching it on TV, back when I first joined the Avengers."
I smiled to myself at the memory, remembering the exact moment she started to let me in when she first joined. It was the only way I could get her to notice me, and then I learned she was just homesick and the shows helped.
"Hopefully you settled in better than I did," Wanda continued jokingly, and I realised she was talking about Kate, not me.
"Yeah, everyone was super nice when I came here," I said, clearing my throat. "Clint is the perfect mentor. A dream, really."
She hummed in agreement, before tilting her head to study me. "So, you're already from New York, right? That's what I heard." I nodded, and she continued, "So this mustn't have been much of a difference for you. Moving to the compound."
"Not really, except for the living with the Avengers bit."
She smiled at my joke. "So, didn't you have friends or anyone you left back home? Family? Girlfriend?"
I tried to use everything I knew about Kate to answer, hoping it sounded genuine. "There was an issue with my mum and she's now in prison, and my father died when I was a kid. Back in the Battle of New York..."
"I'm sorry," Wanda said with a sympathetic frown. "I know how hard that is. Losing family."
I nodded awkwardly, unable to meet her gaze. "It's okay... but yeah. Nobody else. I still keep in touch with some friends from university, but I've got friends here, haven't I? And then, no girlfriends or anything."
"That's surprising," she said with amusement, and I glanced up to see she was hiding a smile. "Y/N always said you were a flirt. Or tried to be anyway."
I refrained from laughing because that was exactly what I'd told Wanda when Kate had first joined us. It was a mere observation, since Kate thought she was so cool and could get any girl she wanted, when that was in fact the opposite of the truth. I knew because that was how I was. But at least I knew it.
"Yeah, she's not wrong," I said, deciding to give Kate a little bit of a reality check. "Every time I think I'm getting somewhere with a girl, it goes down the drain because I'm apparently not as smooth as I think I am."
Wanda laughed quietly, shaking her head. "Hey, it's okay, you're still young, you've got plenty of time to perfect the flirting. If it's any consolation, I'm not too good in that department either."
"You don't have to be though," I said without thinking. "I mean, look at you."
Even in the dimly lit room, I made out the pink dusting her cheeks and thought she looked adorable when she didn't know how to accept compliments.
"That's sweet of you to say," she said with a bashful smile.
"Girls look at you once and that's it," I continued lightheartedly, but I meant every word. "You give them one glance and they're hooked."
And it wasn't a lie, because that's exactly what she did to me.
"Maybe you're not so bad at flirting as you think," she said jokingly, "but try keeping it professional, yeah?"
I bit my lip to contain my smile. Wanda was so easily flustered, it was adorable.
"Y/N isn't very good at flirting either," I said, pushing it just a little but wanting to know more.
"No, she's not," she agreed with a sigh, smile fading into a grimace.
"So, how did she land someone like you?" I asked, watching her curiously.
She looked down at the chocolate in her hand, lips pursed as she thought of her response.
"We were friends first," she said softly, a small nostalgic smile appearing on her lips. "She didn't need to flirt. She just... had to be herself."
One of life's biggest mysteries – how I managed to land someone like Wanda Maximoff. It never made sense to me, even when we were together, because she was everything I wasn't, and I wasn't as smooth at picking up girls like others could be. Her liking me back was just me getting lucky.
"And that was enough?" I asked, unable to look away.
She nodded slowly. "It was. She was thoughtful and considerate, and she made me feel at home when I definitely didn't. She was there for me, always, even when I didn't know I needed her..." A soft sigh escaped her lips, her smile twitching. "And then I just started to fall for her. Everything about her. Her smile, her terrible jokes, her cute attempt at learning Sokovian for me."
My heart ached as she spoke of me with a bittersweet tone, especially because I was sure she didn't like those things about me anymore.
"That sounds sweet," I said weakly.
"Yeah, it does, doesn't it?" she said sadly, lips curving into a frown.
I should have left it there, ended the conversation or changed the topic, but I couldn't help it. I needed to know if there was ever a second chance on the cards.
"Would you ever consider giving it another go?" I asked hesitantly. "You were together for a long time. It seems a shame to throw all of that away."
She glanced at me with suspicion. "You're very pro-relationship."
I straightened up in my seat. "I, er–"
"Is Y/N making you talk to me?" she asked. "Is that what this is?"
I shook my head a little too quickly. "No, Wanda! That's not– I'm just looking out for my friend."
She hummed, lips pressed together and eyes studying me curiously before looking away with defeat.
"I just thought that you both seem miserable without one another," I said, careful not to go too far. "Four and a half years is a long time."
"Well, unfortunately, not all relationships are meant to last," she said bitterly, before crossing her legs and leaning back into the couch.
"But you both clearly still care about each other," I pointed out.
Her eyes found mine questioningly. "Did Y/N say that?"
"Not explicitly," I said, and regretted it because she sighed and looked away again, "but it's very obvious, Wanda."
She rolled her eyes. "Whatever. It's too late for all of that."
"She's always telling me how she should have acted better," I said, unable to stop myself from pouring out my heart to her, because I didn't want to lose my chance, not when she was so close to me. "How she should have been more mature and listened to you more."
Wanda chuckled bitterly. "Funny how she realises that now."
"It's better late than never," I said, trying to hide the desperation in my voice.
"It doesn't matter anymore," she snapped, before closing her eyes and exhaling slowly. Glancing at me apologetically, she said in a softer tone, "It's best not to get in the middle of it, Kate."
She looked fed up, eyes tired and lips stuck in a permanent frown with the mention of me. When she looked away, I was beginning to lose the little hope I had left of making things right, and I hated myself for it.
"She really messed up, didn't she?" I muttered.
Wanda sighed quietly. "It doesn't matter."
But it did, and we both knew it.
Where had it all gone wrong between us? At what point had I fucked it all up and let my own stubbornness be our demise?
"You've been talking to her lately," I said, looking down at my gummy worms, losing my appetite. "That's nice to see."
"I'm just trying to move forward, Kate," she said tiredly. "I can't exactly avoid her forever."
I hoped that wasn't the only reason she'd been making more of an effort with me. And I wished that I could be back in my own body already, so I could make even more of an effort in return.
I couldn't bear the thought of losing her for good.

Yelena Belova x Barton Male Reader
Request - Yelena belvova x Barton male!reader where y/n is Clint's younger brother and his code name of White Knight. Y/n meet Yelena during Black Widow Y/n tag along with Natasha after civil war. He saw the fight between Nat and Yelena while he ate his snack. He was impressed that she almost beat Natasha, he also whispers to Nat that why she didn't mention she has a hot sister. He and Yelena get along well and they like each other.
Tumblr media
You go with Natasha to Hungary, and while she is driving you are reading a Russian-English translation book. She would tell you what words you are saying wrong, which is a lot.
“Learning Russian is so hard!” You whined.
“Such a baby,” Natasha said.
“It's true. Plus reading Russian cursive is much harder” You said.
“You just don't know how to roll your ‘R’s and you need to sound confident when speaking Russian” Natasha said.
You rolled your eyes at her. You continued to read the book again she corrected you. But you and Natasha stopped to get gas for the car. She watched you grab snacks and she paid for them. Then Natasha drove to the city, and you follow her inside a building.
“Why are we here?” You asked.
“I’m looking for someone,” Natasha said.
You followed her into an apartment. Then Yelena aims her gun at Natasha then you take your gun, and aim it at Yelena.
“So... This is how Russians say hi?” You asked.
Yelena doesn't say anything but she glares at you and Natasha. Natasha does have her gun aimed at Yelena and you look at them.
“Y/n put your gun away,” Natasha said.
“But-”
“Y/n!” Natasha yelled.
“Fine!” You yelled.
You put your gun away and moved away slowly while looking at Yelena.
“I’m watching you, blondie,” You said.
Now Yelena and Natasha start to fight, you watch them. You are impressed by how they fight and you can see how strong they are. You start to move out of the way when they get closer to you.
“Do you need help?” You asked.
Natasha doesn't say anything and you keep watching. A few minutes later they stopped and you helped Natasha to stand up. You were going to help Yelena stand up but she didn't grab your hand. Natasha introduced you to Yelena Belova and Natasha told her why they are in Hungary. Yelena leaves with you and Natasha to the secret apartment.
While at the gas station, you are standing next to Natasha while Yelena is a little further away from you two.
“Why you didn't tell me, you have a hot sister?” You whispered.
But Yelena did hear you.
“There is stuff you still don't know about me,” Natasha said.
“I know. But I will always have your back” You winked.
Natasha smiled. You leave the shop with them and you sit in the backseat and start to eat your snacks. Natasha wanted to make sure the red room is destroyed and no one is in control.
“Y/n, you play with arrows?” Yelena asked.
“I don't play with arrows. I'm the best archer” You said.
“After his brother Clint” Natasha said.
“No, I'm way better than him,” You said.
Yelena couldn't help to laugh. You like how Yelena said your name and you start to smile.
You help Natasha and Yelena to find the rest of the black widows. Some were trying to take over the red room, but you helped them to stop it.
---
Natasha is talking to Clint in her hotel room. You met Yelena at a small diner and you sit across from her.
“I like your vest. It looks cool” You said.
“Right!? Such a cool vest. It has so many pockets that I can hide my knives” Yelena said.
She starts to show you all the pockets the vest has. Then she takes out a small knife and you start to smile at her.
“It's the first real thing I bought for myself, once I left the red room,” Yelena said.
“You made a good choice with a vest,” You said.
“I do have good taste,” Yelena said.
“Yeah you do,” You said.
---
You are in Norway, you helped bring items to Natasha. You are outside practicing your archery then a dagger went straight to the tree.
“Hello, white knight,” Yelena said.
You aimed the arrow at her.
“Hello Yelena Belova,” You said.
She starts to run and she dodged your arrow. You and Yelena start to fight and you are blocking her punches.
“Why do Russians fight to say hi!?” You asked.
“You are very dramatic” Yelena smirked.
You were going to punch her but she grabbed your wrist. She turns around and your arm is on her should and she is holding your wrist very tight.
“Argh!” You yelled.
She lets go and you are in pain.
“I told you, white knight, you need to be faster with your punches. If I was your enemy, I would have broken your arm and then make you tell me the information” Yelena said.
You wanted to be faster and stronger when you fight, you asked Yelena to teach you, and she said yes. You can fight but you have been relying on your arrows a lot.
“What brings you to Norway?” You asked.
“You are so nosy,” Yelena said.
You and Yelena smiled at each other. You and Yelena start to talk about stuff.
✫ ✯ ✬ ✬
You are in New York with Clint and you met Kate. You are helping Kate and Clint fight Echo on the roof. While fighting Echo then someone else joined in, and you can't tell it's Yelena because she has on a mask and she is wearing all black. Yelena kicked you and you fell on top of Kate, but you get up and helped Kate stand up. Yelena kicked Clint in the chest then he punched her.
You grabbed your arrow and bow and she starts to dodge it. Clint starts to fight Echo again while you and Kate fight Yelena. But Kate grabbed the explosive arrow and aimed it at the ground, a loud sound and bright light appeared. Everyone’s ears started to ring, but you tried to fight Yelena but she aimed the gun at you. You stopped then Yelena ran away.
“Who was that?” Clint asked.
“I have no idea,” Kate said.
Echo runs away and you are breathing hard.
----
Days later... You followed a lead and you are in shock it's Yelena. You found her in a hotel
“Why did you fight me and my brother?” You asked.
“Y/n, I was on a job and you ask too many questions,” Yelena said.
“Who hired you? I don't get why my girlfriend would take a job that would include killing my brother” You sighed
“Girlfriend? Y/n Barton, you think I'm your girlfriend?” Yelena said in shock.
Your heart starts to race and you just noticed what you said. She is waiting for you to say something and you are speechless... You try to come up with something but just couldn't come up with anything.
“Y/n, do you think I'm your girlfriend?” Yelena asked.
You walked away and leave the room. Yelena didn't say anything she just watch you walk away. You closed the door and run out of the hotel fast.
----
You are at Clint’s house and he is outside grilling the food. Laura is busy helping Clint and you are sitting next to your nephew.
“ Nathaniel, how do you ask a girl out?” You asked.
“Give her a cookie,” Nathaniel said.
He is three years old.
“She is a black widow, smart, I like how she says my name, smart I know I said it already but she really is. And she knows how to fight and I really like her a lot” You said.
You showed him a picture of Yelena.
“She is pretty,” Nathaniel said.
“Right!?” You said.
“What is love?” Nathaniel asked.
“Good question. Love can mean so many different things but it's someone you want to be forever with” You said.
“Playing games together?” Nathaniel said.
“Yes, I will want to play video games with Yelena forever,” You said.
“Wow!” Nathaniel smiled.
You spend time with Clint and everyone else. You start to play games with them and you get a text from Yelena. You showed it to your nephew.
“She texted me!” You said.
“Text?” Nathaniel said.
“She said hi to me,” You said.
“Hi!” Nathaniel said to your phone.
You start to laugh and he is just smiling.
✫ ✯ ✬ ✬
Yelena wanted to meet up with you. And you have been avoiding her for days, you are freaking out.
“Why did you want to meet here in central park? Oh no... You are going to kill me!?” You said.
“What!? No, I'm not going to kill you. We need to talk” Yelena said.
“About?” You said.
“You already know what I want to talk about. Why did you say that I'm your girlfriend?” Yelena said.
Now your heart is beating even faster.
“I-I... I like you a lot. I have feelings for you and I accidentally said that” You said.
“Are you serious?” Yelena asked.
“Yes, I'm serious. I really like you a lot” You said.
Yelena moved closer and you are thinking that she doesn't feel the same way. But what she did surprise you, Yelena put her hand behind your neck and kissed you. You start to kiss her back.

Tell me about ClintNats Love language 🥰
Why hey sexy! Come here often?
Tumblr media
Clint’s love language is definitely words of affirmation. Having grown up hearing the worst of the worst tumble out of his drunk foster father did not do wonders for his self esteem. He puts on a big show of acting like he’s hot shit but really he got that negative self esteem train going about eighty percent of the time. His sarcastic shit eating grin and the Im-gods-gift-to-Shield swagger is all a cover. So, when Nat comes around and compliments his work he preens like a peacock. Who knew the words “I’m impressed Barton” could give him a semi? He sure as hell didn’t. He’s definitely got a bit of a praise kink which Natasha most definitely abuses in the most debauched ways possible. Non-sexually Natasha praises Clint with affectionate compliments noting his strong arms, his kindness and how cute he is when he grins at her with that dopey “I done good” grin. One time Clint heard Natasha defending a controversial action during a mission to Director Fury and Phil, and ended up dragging her into a janitorial closet just because. He of course lavishes her with praise ten-fold which she of course loves and appreciates.
Clint’s other love language is touch. Which he shares with Natasha. They are both touch starved people, considering Clint’s abusive childhood and Natasha neglected one they both relish in each other’s touch. From sex to walks on the park they are constantly touching each other; pinky’s lace together, arms get slung over shoulders and kisses are dropped onto foreheads often. Phil had to politely ask them to cool it in the middle of a brief so they try to keep their touching to a minimum and work appropriate while at SHIELD (except for the workplace quickies because Phil would have to drag that from Clint’s cold dead fingers. Try it, Sir…I dare you! It helps though that they haven’t been caught! A delightful occupational quirk ;) Outside of SHIELD they really let go. Which Clint loves because then he’s able to kiss the spot on Natasha neck that makes her squeal every time! She punches his arm in retaliation but don’t let that fool you she fucking loves it.
Natasha’s other love language would definitely be acts of service. She’s a busy woman and between being a SHIELD operative and then an Avenger later she doesn’t have time to remember the small stuff. Clint however can, so when he knows she’s running low on her favorite bath products he’ll pop out and buy them. When her gear needs a cleaning he’s already done it by the time Natasha sits down to do it. After a long mission apart Clint already has a hot bath running with soothing salts and candles ready by the time Natasha walks through the door. After dinner and a glass of red wine of course! If she is hurt and needs patching up he’s already sitting on the edge of the bathtub with a suture kit and bandages. He takes very good care of her an in return Natasha’s able to be more effective at her job. She rewards him with her own little acts of service like buying him his favorite foods or making him cookies just because.

Fool Me Once
Summary: Wanda reminisces the beginning of her friendship with Nat. The spy seeks out Wanda to come clean, but runs into you instead.
Warnings: Themes of death and grief in a flashback
Authors Note: This part mostly gives more insight into Wanda and Nats friendship. I just love their supportive bad bitch dynamic in this series tbh so yes this was self indulgent. Also, I couldn't not utilize nosy Clint in this one... Ur welcome.

Gifs Not Mine
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She tried to not let it bother her. Wanda knew your romantic history and how hesitant you could be. She’d worked hard to make sure you felt you had a safe space with her. Really, she was angry with herself for being so sure... So goddamn sure that you'd say the words right back.
She imagined you'd smile before whispering it back in that sweet tone of yours. Making her stomach flutter and having it feel like pteridactyls instead of butterflies. In reality, she felt you tense and lay in silence. After what felt like eternity Wanda did the only thing she could think of... Pretend to fall asleep.
It was only hours later when you had finally let sleep take you that she got up and ventured to the roof. Something she used to do when she felt alone or conflicted.
The last time she had been up there to hide away Natasha had interrupted her from her thoughts. Tossing a pair of sneakers to the younger witch and telling her to get up. So, Wanda complied and followed the spy outside. She wasn't bold enough to try and hear Natasha’s thoughts. Of all the avengers she was sure that the redhead had hated her the most.
Wanda stayed silent as she followed Nats lead. Starting with a walk on a beaten trail into the forest before breaking out into a jog. Wanda was already pushing her limits before the widow broke out into a full run.
They'd gotten so far away from the compound, Wanda was sure they were a few miles from anything. Natasha had long disappeared in the distance and Wanda stopped to catch her breath. As her chest heaved she could hear her heartbeat echo in her eardrums.
She jumped when a hand landed on her shoulder. Nats hand. She looked up and the spy grabbed her wrist, pulling her off the trail and deeper into the forest. Closer to the sound of rushing water.
When the trees ceased, Wanda could see where the sound was coming from. A creek leading into a rather large lake. It was a calm setting. Of course she could only take in so much before a small wooden block and a sheathed knife were shoved into her hands.
That's when she noticed Nat settling on the ground with her own. The witch furrowed her brows and sat down next to the spy. Ever so curious as to what would happen next.
“I’ve been wanting to do this for so long, but I put it off because I don't think I was ready yet,” Natasha flipped the knife open and started to carve into the small piece of wood.
“What are we doing?” Wanda asked cautiously. Further confused by the light chuckle that escaped Natasha’s lips.
“I used to have a younger sister,” this grabbed Wanda’s attention. “She would be a bit younger than you, actually... We weren’t blood related, but pretending to be a family gave me some of the best moments of my life,”
“So you were close? Like me and Piet?” Wanda asked, feeling her throat already start to close up. Natasha nodded.
“She was my favorite little ball of chaos,” she looked out at the water, pausing her movements as she remembered her past. “Always getting in trouble and being too loud,” Natasha laughed to herself remembering the little blonde girl.
“Piet was always obnoxious. Especially when there was someone to impress,” Wanda chuckled.
“I bet he was a real hit with the ladies,” Nat said sarcastically.
“God knows he tried to be,” Wanda snorted remembering the time he got a cup of water thrown in his face at his antics. He was always playful and bright. Even when he had to be Wanda’s anchor.
“What else was she like?” Wanda asked. “Your sister,” she clarified, noticing the start of a name being carved on the small wooden block. Natasha stared at her wooden block for a moment, trying to find the right words.
“I had to leave her behind,” Nat admitted. “To be honest with you I don't even know if she’s alive,” Natasha began carving once more. Wanda now joining in carving her own block with her brothers name.
There was a comfortable quiet between the two. The only sounds around them happened to be the rushing of water and metal scraping wood.
“Hey, Maximoff,” Natasha called the younger woman's attention. Wanda only hummed in acknowledgment. “Don’t stop yourself from feeling. I know you've had a lot of loss in your life too, but I think your heart is your biggest strength,” Natasha said before lifting the wooden piece and blowing the shavings away.
“Yeah, good one. Where'd you get that? The care bears?” Wanda quipped. She let her eyes move back to the redhead who rolled her eyes in response.
“I’m serious... Yeah, you have powers, but it's your heart that leads you in the right direction. Don't ignore it. I used to think that love was for children and I lost myself for so long. You actually have a chance to keep your heart... So please, keep it,” Natasha insisted. Wanda had finally finished carving her brothers name into the piece of wood and sheathed the knife before setting it on the ground.
“I’ll keep mine if you keep yours,” the witch offered. The spy let out a hearty laugh before holding her hand out for the younger woman to shake.
“Deal,” Natasha said. From that moment on the two began their long friendship. Each one fighting for the other. A team rather than two lost strangers that feeling alone or empty.
Wanda smiled remembering how all those years ago her friend pulled her out of her turmoil. But now she was in a very different predicament. One that she couldn't turn to Natasha to confide in. Not when every mention of you further broke the spy’s own heart. Natasha would never admit it out loud, but Wanda knew better.
When Wanda finally opened the door to the roof she was met with quite a sight. Yelena, the sister that Nat had talked about all those years ago, and Kate Bishop, the poor girl Wanda practically terrorized earlier. Unfortunately for her, the two women noticed her before she could retrace her steps.
The sheer panic in Kates eyes made Wanda grimace. She really rattled the girl earlier. Red tendrils and all. Wanda pursed her lips and gave a slight nod and an almost nonexistent wave.
“Come sit with us! Natasha tells me you know Russian and I miss my mother tongue,” Yelena whined. She was obviously pretty drunk as well as Kate.
“Не думаю, что я нравлюсь твоему другу,” Wanda said. Yelena had a smile painted on her face.
“Просто тащи свою задницу сюда и выпей с нами!” Yelena demanded and Wanda chuckled nervously, opting to comply. If Yelena and Nat had one thing in common it was getting Wanda to follow directions.
“Something’s on your mind, witchy,” Yelena said, grabbing an extra shot glass and pouring a heavy handed double of vodka. “Would you care to share with the class?” Even Kate looked interested to hear the answer. Likewise a puppy hearing the word treat and waiting ever so patiently for a reward.
“It’s probably nothing,” Wanda sighed before downing the shot like it was water.
“So, what exactly is probably nothing?” Yelena continued to probe, pouring another shot for the witch. “And don't leave out any details,” Kate added.
“You guys don't want to know. It's stupid,” Wanda fiddled with the shot glass, not yet downing the 2nd drink. Liquid courage always made it more enticing for her to spill all of her thoughts if she wasn't careful.
“If it's bothering you I’m sure it's not stupid,” Kate said. “How about this,” she straightened up in her seat and Wanda tilted her head in curiosity. Not at Kates antics, but at the familiar look on Yelena’s face. The face Nat had whenever she talked to you.
“A fair exchange. One of us shares something and you share something back!” Kate grinned and Yelena’s eyebrow ticked up in a most mischievous way.
“I don't know...” Wanda trailed off.
“It’ll be fun! Plus, I can get to know you for you and not just what's out on the internet,” Kate half shrugged and Wanda mulled over her options. Maybe she could make new friends... And maybe she can get a second opinion on everything.
“Okay, but one of you can start,” Wanda said before taking her 2nd shot.
“I’ll go first! I broke an entire bell tower when I was at college,” Kate said.
“An entire what?” Wanda processed the new information and Yelena looked just as confused.
“How!?! I knew you could be reckless Kate Bishop, but an entire tower?” Yelena took a swig from the bottle.
“Yup! I was just trying to shoot the bell to make it ring and then it just broke,” She laughed, her face a bit pink from embarrassment.
“Thats actually kind of impressive,” Wanda laughed to herself imagining what that must’ve been like.
“Did you get in trouble?” Yelena asked.
“Yeah, my mom had to bail me out and pay the school for all the damages,” Kate replayed the moment her mom started to reprimand her in her mind.
“Your turn,” Wanda looked at Yelena and the blonde shrugged.
“I have nothing embarrassing to share,” Yelena waved off the attention before she remembered something. “But I do know something Natasha absolutely hates,” this piqued everyones curiosity. Sure, there were a lot of things the spy disliked, but hearing whatever it was from her own sister was bound to be good.
“Ya gonna leave us hanging in suspense?” Kate asked.
“She does this thing and hates when I call her out on it,” Yelena started. Getting up and doing a familiar motion, flipping her hair back while crouched on the ground.
“She always does this pose and it's so impractical! I tried to do it seriously once and it just feels repulsive,” Yelena ranted on causing both of the other women to double over in laughter.
“She totally does that!” Wanda yelped, laughing so hard she could feel her eyes tear up. It was a nice change of pace from how the last two weeks have been. She felt like part of the team again. Wanda had felt pretty guilty isolating all her free time to just you and Natasha outside of missions.
Meanwhile, Natasha was determined to come clean. After confiding in Clint for so long it was difficult to not feel like she was ready to burst at any moment. The impending doom of her friendship and the look of disgust that would more than likely cross your face. She needed to just rip off the bandaid.
So, even though it was the early hours of the morning the spy practically marched to Wanda’s room. After knocking on the door twice, she waited. There was no shuffling behind the door. Natasha sighed at the realization that the witch was probably still with you. Cuddled up in bed and sharing lazy moments in between rem cycles.
“Nat?” Your voice snapped her back to attention and she turned to see you.
“Oh, hey,” Natasha said awkwardly. While you'd spent a lot of time together she’d never seen you like this before. You still had on the same clothes from the day before, but your bed head was prominent, your voice was rhaspier as well as lower in pitch, and you still had the littlest bit of sleep in your eye.
Why did she still want to wrap herself up in your arms like you were a cozy blanket?
“Is Wands not in there?” You asked and she shrugged.
“I knocked a few times, but nothing...” Natasha trailed off for a moment. You nodded, turning to start walking away. “You two got a chance to talk about yesterday though, right?” Natasha asked. It hurt, but it was her only excuse to keep talking and she’d take it.
“Yeah,” You said, smiling to yourself as you turned back to her. “I can’t believe I almost forgot!” You said as your eyes fully opened for the first time that morning. Before Natasha could react you pulled her into a tight hug. She was stiff as a board at the beginning but she quickly relaxed into your arms.
She’d thought about it a million times before, but you were somehow more comfortable that she ever imagined. Natasha leaned in further, letting her chin rest near the crook of your neck and her arms wrapped around you to reciprocate the gesture. Could you feel how clammy her hands were already becoming? Could you hear her heart racing?
“Thank you for everything yesterday... You're a really good friend,” You said quietly. Natasha felt her stomach drop at the shattered illusion. Friend... Just a friend.
“I’m glad you were able to work it all out,” Natasha never doubted that you would. You clearly fought tooth and nail for everything and everyone you cared about. She knew she was included in that list, just not the way that she craved to be.
“Yeah... I actually wanted to talk. If that's okay?” You asked softly, pulling away and ending the embrace that had been holding Natasha upright. Her mind raced. Did you know about her feelings? Were you mad? Why was she driving herself insane like you were some high school crush?
“Yeah, should we go sit down or something?” Natasha asked. You nodded in response and walked to the nearest empty space. Both of you shared a single thought: Would this be the day that everything falls apart?
It was quiet on your way down the hall aside from some rustling coming from pretty far behind you two. You'd honestly assumed it was just Clint being creepy again so you ignored it. Natasha, once again, was too stuck in her thoughts about you to notice.
When you turned a corner you made it to an empty conference room. With the flick of a switch the room was illuminated and you moved to take your seats. You found it a bit odd that Natasha sat rather far away, but it was too early to really use your brain at this point.
Out of nowhere there was a squeal and the door opened before closing again. The click of a lock could be heard by all 3 of you. Both you and Natasha watched, utterly confused as Wanda turned and started to bang on the door.
“LENA, LET ME OUT!” Wanda whined.
“Hey, don't blame me! I wasn't the one that pushed you in,” You could all hear Yelenas muffled voice through the door.
“I don't care! Let me out!” Wanda’s words were still slurred and you could smell the alcohol from your seat. Natasha jumped up to calm your girlfriend and reprimand her sister.
“Yel, open the door right now,” Nat demanded after attempting to open it herself. Only to find that it wouldn't budge. That and that it was one of Tony’s reinforced conference rooms that Natasha helped to make sure was impenetrable. That also meant there was no way out if Clint did the bare minimum hacking the programming to lock them in.
“No, not until you three talk,” Your eyebrows furrowed hearing Clints voice. Natasha had never wanted to slap her friend upside the head to this degree before.
“Why does creepy birdman want to lock you in a room too?” You heard Yelena ask through the door.
“Don’t worry about it,” Clint replied. The sound of high fives made its way to your ears along with fading footsteps. Only then did it register, you were now stuck in a room with both Wanda and Natasha...
Oh no?

“HEY RHODEY!” You yelled from the garage.
“WHAT?!”
“CAN I TAKE YOUR SUIT FOR A RIDE?”
“WHYYY?”
“PLEASE, I GOT A HOT DATE AND I NEEDA DRESS TO IMPRESS”
He walks into the room laughter on his lips as he finds you standing before his suit, a bowl of coco pops in hand and a mischevious smile spread wide across your face.
“Right, the iron patriot, is not datewear. Hands off” He eyed your bowl of cereal comically and watched you screw up your nose.
“Come on dude, it’ll be so suave. I’ll walk up to her, pop open the helmet and be all like ‘Hi there miss are you lost? Cause heaven is a long way from here.” Your friend burst out laughing which was abruptly silenced when your eyes flicked up behind him.
“Try ‘If nothing lasts forever will you be my nothing?’” Her tone was sour and her expression even more so. Natasha had been a jealous woman. Maybe territorial is more accurate and she had always been there to take on anyone who flirted with you. This was not the first time you'd seen her and you were sure it wouldn't be the last but every time you do, your heart breaks a little more.
You hadn't been prone to illusions previously but after a run-in with
---
When you turn and see her jealous but cocky smile you feel your heart shatter. You are torn between throttling your cereal at her and running into her arms. You turned back to Rhodey who was now standing beside you looking shocked and concerned.
“Is she really there or am I hallucinating again?” You grabbed Rhodey’s shoulder in an effort to stabilise yourself. Your eyes grew watery and you held your cereal bowl tighter. Only Rhodey could see the concern and guilt that flitted over Natasha’s face. He was silent as he tried to figure what you were going to do. It had been three years since you had returned to find her gone after the Accords. It had been two years since you stopped looking for her. You’d found Steve, Sam, and visited Clint. You had even met and befriended a hesitant Bucky. You couldn’t find Bruce but no one could. Thor you figured was doing his MC Hammer gig out on Asgard. Everyone but her and none of them could tell you where she was. You had been distraught, absolutely and undeniably fucked. Now you were emotionally constipated but having fun. This, this felt like everything that currently held your heart together had been severed. Everything that kept you together, functioning, alive… it was all gone now.
“Mmmhmm. I’m gonna get the limo ready for you because you won’t kill her in that,” He turned to you and it broke his heart to see how undone you already looked.
“We’ll see about that” you whispered your reply. You tried to gather yourself, ground yourself. 5 things you can see, 4 things you feel, 3 things you hear, 2 things you smell and one thing you taste.
Before Rhodey left intending to initiate Operation Damage Control he pulled you into a hug. “You’re ok Y/N. You are going to be ok”.
Operation Damage Control consisted of a nurse on standby, stocking up on your favourite foods and Mortal Kombat at the ready.
It was just you and Nat. You stood still. That deathly kind of still that sits in voids accompanied by the darkness of black holes. You tried to reign in your emotions. The anger, the sadness, the betrayal were all stampeding through you. It felt like you couldn’t breathe but it also felt like for the first time in three years the air was clean.
“Y/N-” Before she could say anything you turned around and threw your cereal bowl at her. The bowl smashed against the wall behind her but most of the soggy bits and milk hit her. She stood there awkwardly as the milk and cereal dripped off of her. Her green eyes were murky and regret filled them. She didn’t know what to do because you seemed to have changed so much. She didn’t know but she cared too much to say something and screw up now… again.
“Don’t you dare say my name like that. Not after three years of nothing.” You rushed out of the room before she could say any more.
1:58am - Day Two
The sound of your harsh punches hitting the punching bag echoed throughout the gym. You hadn’t been able to find the gloves and the pain funnelling through you took you straight to the bag. You punched and punched and punched till your knuckles started to crack. The bag jolted less after the next punch and you stopped to see if she was the one steadying it for you.
“Hey,” Rhodey said gently, “You ok sis?”
You wiped your nose, sniffling and nodding before you began to punch the bag again. You sped up as the anger rushed through you. You attacked the bag relentlessly and bit your cheeks as you tried to hold back tears. Your hands grasped at the bag, banging your fingers against it manically. Rhodey was quick to take you into his arms. You cried and he held you.
“You’re ok. It’s ok.” He whispered repeatedly.
Day Three
Natasha had never been bothered by the cold before you. She had never been bothered by the lack of romantic affection in her life but after you? She ached for your touch. She longed to worship your body with her lips. She craved the warmth of your body against hers. No one could compare to you. She sat in a trance on her bed, her favourite memory of you playing. You were stirring a big pot of sauce for lasagne with one hand leaning on the bench. She walked up behind you and wrapped her arms around your waist so you were flush against her. You smelt soft and sweet and you laughed as she kissed your neck. You maintained the contact as you stirred the sauce and moved your free hand to entwine with Natasha’s around your waist. It was as if you melded together and had become two halves of one whole instead of two individuals.
It is an understatement to say Nat worried that her absence would haunt her. She felt where your lips had once touched hers. She remembered how it felt to have your hands caressing her. Her body remembered how it felt to watch you come undone. The sheer beauty had stunned her at first but soon she came to crave it. Natasha could almost feel where your fingers had once been as she moaned your name. Her skin tingled and her heart ached for you, for your touch. It didn’t come. All Natasha could try to do was get your attention. All she could do was try to talk to you and she had no idea how she was gonna do that so she went into the kitchen and made herself a bowl of your favourite coco pops. You are what you eat right.
“You know if she catches you eating that you’ll be wearing it again right?” She heard Rhodey say as he emerged from another room.
She nodded and took another mouthful making Rhodey roll his eyes.
“I just need her to talk to me,” She replied, her tone void of emotion but her eyes drowning in it.
“Uh huh, good luck accomplishing that while you consume what is possibly her most favourite thing on this planet.” Rhodey laughed as you entered the room.
“Hey Rhodey, for an upcoming mission I need… well not need want. I would like a stakeout buddy. Wanna come?” You ignored Natasha entirely not a peep not a single glance in her direction.
“Yeah, I’m down. When is it?”
“Not till next week. I gotta do a few minor surveillance missions and I have reports to fill out.” You grabbed the two boxes of coco pops from the cupboard. Muttering to yourself, “unbelievable, the nerve, you don’t just go into your ex-girlfriend’s cupboard and take her cereal.” Rhodey thought he could hear Natasha's heart shatter as you referred to yourself as her ex-girlfriend. Her mouth dropped. Her mind racing at how far screwed she was.
“Haha, sucker. You gotta do reports.” He laughed trying to ignore the tension that sat heavy in the air.
“Pfft so do you.” You continued to ignore Natasha as she cleaned her bowl.
Rhodey laughed, “this is true but not right now. Right now I get to eat a delicious lettuce and ham sandwich.” He chucked the ingredients on the bench as he said them. His eyebrows raised as you made to leave the room with your two boxes of cereal.
“What? My cereal is very important to me. Surveillance mission one? Don't let the coco pops be compromised.” You basked in Rhodey’s laughter and when Natasha chuckled over at the table you let yourself smile. It reminded you of late night chats, movie nights, dates. It reminded you of a life you thought you had left behind. Your smile didn’t go unnoticed.
Cereal still in hand, you made your way to your room muttering as you left. You put them on your dresser and returned to your office.
That night you were in the middle of kicking Rhodey’s butt at Mortal Kombat and after you had won for the fifth time he quietly asked you “do you really consider her your ex-girlfriend?”
You let out a heavy sigh. Did you? Did you really? The answer was no. You hadn’t broken up but the silence, the distance, the strain on your relationship had made it feel almost like you had lost a loved one. Or like they were missing.
“No, I don’t. It feels more like she’s missing or dead and I’ve just grown accustomed to the pain of losing her.” Rhodey nodded thoughtfully before responding.
“Do you think you’ll reconcile?”
“Maybe. I think at this point it depends on what she does and if I can get over my own bullshit. I need to forgive her but I can’t at the moment. In my soul, I hope we get over it because I love her so much it hurts but in turn I am really, really hurt. When I came back all I had was you. You’re my one consistent dude. Which is ace and all but that’s a different kind of love.”
“True and either way you guys are gonna need time before you can decide if you stay or if you go?”
You agreed with Rhodey and pretended you didn’t see her silhouette in the kitchen listening, still as a statue.
Day Six
Natasha still hadn’t spoken to you. No. No. No. Instead, she wore, spoke, laughed, moved in ways she knew would fluster you, make you smile, force you to chuckle. It had been three days of the most beautiful torture. It made the coldness inside you melt. The thought that she would do so much intentionally just to get the smallest response from you, it softened that wall you had put up all those years ago. It made you feel as if it was 5 years ago and all was well.
Natasha could see that her work, which it was, was working. You had brought your cereal back out into the cupboard, you sat and ate at the table with her. You had even spoken and eventually, you stopped looking like you were in pain every time you saw her.
Sure you could still often be found training alone at the crack of dawn, not having slept a minute. You still attacked equipment, kicking and punching it till either you or it broke. But afterwards you didn’t go for a run and you didn’t feel the need to run. You were working through what you faced in your home.
One afternoon after a successful mission Rhodey and Natasha were flying back.
“Are you going to actually have a conversation with her? Maybe Apologise” Rhodey asked hesitantly. He was over the tension in the house. He’d had to deal with so much of it during the accords and he was over it.
“I’m working on it. I don’t think she wants me. She tolerates me.” Rhodey scoffed.
“It’s not that she doesn't want you. It’s that she wants you so hard, she longs for you with every fibre of her being. For three years she searched and all she has reaped from her efforts is pain.”Nat froze in response. When she looked up at him he saw that she felt the loss, guilt and regret of leaving you.
“She’s usually training late at night and I know you’re up. You better figure something out. I’m not here to be a mediator but my best friend, my little sister is hurting bad. She deserves an explanation and you deserve a chance. She’ll give it to you. You just have to earn it.”
3:32 am
“Mi amour? Mi amour are you there?” Natasha watched as you tossed and turned in your sleep. Were you looking for her? Were you wondering why she left? Why she avoided you? What had she done? As she thought about how she might reconcile this, you sat up eyes wide sweating and puffing and her instincts kicked in.
“Hey, hey, hey, you’re ok.” she said as she sat beside you and pulled you into a hug.
It burned, it burned in the most beautiful way. It set your heart on fire and it pumped faster and faster and you weren’t ready. So you ran from her arms, you didn’t know where to and you could hear her behind you so you ran faster. You ran until you found yourself panting on the roof.
“Y/N?” She called softly. So softly you almost felt as if she still loved you. You almost forgot she left at all because in her voice you feel the longing for that oneness that you had once shared. As if all that you had been missing was behind you calling your name.
“Please, I’m sorry.” She called it out with a slight tone hysteria in her voice. She needed you to say her name. Anything to her. Anything at all. She just wanted to explain, she just wanted you to see how she longed for you. She needed you to see how much she still loved you.
“I’m so sorry baby.”
“Why?” You called out sobbing and crying. “Why didn’t you tell me where you were going? Why didn’t you let me find you? Why did you leave me Nat? Why?” You sobbed. Tears streamed down your cheeks and you felt weak in the knees. The wind seemed to pick up and coldness cloaked you. It was a coldness that had drawn out your nights and ruined your dates. She cautiously walked till she stood beside you.
“I don’t understand.” You turned to face her and even dared to look her in the eyes. All the emotions you had pushed away were bursting at the seams of your heart. Natasha cautiously took your hands in hers as she began to explain herself.
“I left with Steve and then I went to find Bruce and I was trying to find my team and each and every night the cold kept me awake but I was sure that it was my mission to recover my team. My family. When I found out you were looking for me, I didn’t want to face you without a reason. I wanted to come back and show you that you weren’t abandoned in this mess. I wanted to be whole for you. I wanted our family to be whole for you.” Her voice cracked and she went silent as she watched your face. You looked disappointed but you let out a bitter laugh as you cried.
“You mean to tell me. That you broke my heart, trying not to break my heart.” She winced at your accusation. “You idiot. All I wanted was you. I could find everyone. Our team, our family is just that no matter where they are. All I want is you.” You sniffed, moving your hands to her cheeks as she moved hers to rest on your hips. She leaned her forehead against yours and you rested there for a moment. You felt like you were home, you were whole.
“And all I want is you.” She brought her lips up to yours and you melded together. You caressed her jaw and as you moved your hands so they were around her neck she slid hers over your ass. She pulled you closer as her tongue danced with her lips against yours. You had wanted, longed, dreamed of her body against yours for so long and your need drove you till you pulled apart only so you could take a breath.
“Mi Amour, never let me go again. Promise?” You asked in a breathy whisper.
“Never again, Lyubimaya moya,” She whispered a smile on face. She finally felt whole, as if the connection between you had been repaired, as if you were two halves again. Whole now that you were together.

Rating different sapphic ships for marvel women cause I'm bored. Some ships are mcu based most are comic based
First up Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff
1. Sharon carter - Widow13/Natsharon
9/10
they're adorable, friends to lovers. I love the way they are always complementing each other like sharons saying "but her speed still impress me" or mcu nat in tws saying she was nice, honestly mcu nat seemed more into sharon than mcu steve. Also they got 7th for a comic sapphic ship poll w over 6000 votes, so true of them
Tumblr media
2. Bobbi Morse -bobbinat/mockingwidow
10/10
stealing clints wife, literally. There's panels of nat calling bobbi darling. They actually kissed in canon but it was just so nat could give bobbi medicine since she was under influence. After Bobbi gained control of herself again she told bucky to tell nat and I quote from bucky himself "she said to call her if you were still "curious", and clint got all defensive." Anyways they need to kiss again but for real this time.
Tumblr media
3. Jessica drew - jessnat
7/10
Caroljess is my #1 but this is also cute. Spider x spider. They had rlly cute moments in secret avengers and avengers assemble(2013). Including this one where nat says jess is her soulmate and those panels of where they get a massage together. In one spiderwoman comic where jess was pregnant they almost had a movie night together until someone interrupts
Tumblr media
4. Marina
6/10
Marina is natasha childhood best friend. They met in the red room and sometimes they escaped to watch ballerinas dance. When they got older(1960s?) they had a mission together but the handlers thought Marina was going to deflect from the red room so after the mission they had Natasha put k!ll Marina, nat almost doesn't do it but in the end...anyways they were adorable up until the end. Marina should be referenced again cause the only comic w her is Black Widow 2014
Tumblr media
5. Maria hill - blackhill/marianat
9/10
Enemies to lovers to Enemies to lovers to Enemies to...Invincible iron man has major blackhill angst I swear ("but maria hooked up w tony in it" no) their relationship is confusing lowkey one minute they're protective of each other next minute they're bullying one another. But either way Invincible iron man and Black widow 2014 made some big blackhill points. Maria turning to nat cause she was the only one she could trust. Nat comforting maria when she had ptsd flashbacks. Maria saying that nat is the only one she can trust. Taskmaster 2021 where maria faked her death without telling anyone and the blame was put on taskmaster so u have natasha going after him to avenge her. U see taskmaster dialog "bullseye thinks that if u kill the heros girlfriend, their wife or partner or whatever, then you've got an edge on them. But all that does is get them.to come after you harder than ever. I've adopted a 'no wives, no girlfriends, no mothers' policy. Not just because it's gross. Though it is. No, it's because these heros, these guys...it always seems that all they are waiting for is one dead woman to motivate them" what's a hetero explanation for that?!? Nat is literally chasing this man down all throughout the comic and taskmaster is scared sh!t less, the only reason she doesn't kill him is because right before she does maria reveals herself to nat that she's alive. I only put it as 9/10 cause I'm not the biggest on Enemies to lovers plus there was those times where maria does make nat sheilds biggest enemy...
Tumblr media
6. Elektra
6/10
They definitely hate f*cked once u can't convince me otherwise. Hate the whole "fighting over matt" thing though
Tumblr media
7. Carol danvers - carolnat
5/10
I perfer them as friends but they do have some nice moments.
Tumblr media
8. Janet van dyne(not hope)
5/10
I also perfer them as friends(not that ive rlly seen a lot of ppl ship them). They have a cute friendship in black widow and marvel girls
Tumblr media
9. Wanda maximoff- wandanat
??/10
They have a total of 5 interactions mcu and comics combined. I see the vision but at the same time they both have better ships
Tumblr media
10. Peggy carter - Peggynat
2/10
I see where you're coming from w the what if but I can't stand peggy for whatever reason. Like I won't go online and comment hate on her but I just choose to ignore her. If u ship tho go ahead tho it's legal and not toxic
I think I've covered all of natashas sapphic ships, or at least all the bigger ones. Some.of these probably sound rlly confusing...I'll probably do captain marvel or she hulk next

You Touched The Butt
Summary: It’s been almost a year since first meeting the Avengers, and you’ve made an admirable amount of progress. You’ve formed connections with some of the others and Wanda helps you to see that you have to confront the person with which you have the closest connection of all.
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x Mutant!TigerShark!Reader
[AU Masterlist] [Part 1] [Part 2] This is Part 3
Warning(s): None; This chapter is actually pretty soft, maybe making friends? Talking about feelings? Then pouring out feelings? Are those warnings?
Note: This is the third installment that wraps up the introduction to Jaws and how they and Natasha came to be. With this completing their first chapter, I can make other things in this universe for Jaws, Nat, and other people in the Jaws AU. I hope you guys like this part!
Word Count: Just a bit short of 2.3k
*squints* I give NO ONE permission to repost or translate my work. Make your own shit

By now, you could spend time with the other Avengers. Both Wanda and Natasha were proud of the progress you’d made around the others in the months after meeting you.
You’d gotten better around Steve, eventually apologizing for the bite mark on his forearm from your first meeting
He’s forgiven you, but he still kept his distance, which you understood
But he did know you were trying, and that you’d gotten better.
That’s all he really wanted from you.
Sam, and Clint were pretty alright in your books, you could talk with both of them fairly easily.
They knew when it was and wouldn’t a good time to be around you, noticing some tells you’d give off, and you appreciated their consideration
Bruce had taken time away for personal reasons that he didn’t really go into. You had a handful of conversations with him, so you didn’t really have much of an impression on him.
You can still only handle Tony in small doses though….
You can be in the same room as him, but you will throw that man given the chance
At least now it’s not an immediate response, he only works your nerves about three times more than the average person.
With Vision? To be honest he kind of freaked you out at first, but through Wanda you’ve met common ground.
You were eating a bag of chips in the common room with Wanda and Vision with the TV on in the background. “So like, you’re made out of vibranium?”
Vision looked over at you, “Yes, that is correct. My body is made from vibranium while my consciousness was formed by-”
“I didn’t ask all that, but vibranium is super strong, right?” You reached for his arm while Wanda watched on, half amused, half confused.
“Yes, it’s virtually indestructible.” He watched your finger poke his arm repeatedly. Your eyes squinted with a sudden thought.
“So if I bit you, would it penetrate?”
Vision genuinely seemed to think it over while Wanda now was also concerned where this line of conversation was going.
“Theoretically, I believe it is possible for your adamantium teeth to penetrate my skin, given enough force,” You nodded, still poking his arm “hmm. That’s kinda cool,”
“It is an interesting theory, yes.” Vision and you made eye contact as a silent bout of understanding was shared between the two of you.
Wanda was just hoping you both wouldn’t be testing that theory any time soon.
Over the months, you've realized that Wanda's become your closest friend in the Avengers Compound
Well, maybe there’s a closer contender, but that’s a more complex matter…
While spending time with Wanda and having the regular talks with both her and Natasha, she’s also taken time to hang out with you and get to know you as a person, helping you find interests and really just talk.
She’s told you about her own pain and loss regarding her home country and what was the last of her family. How that grief is still sitting there in the back of her head.
Helping you with your emotions has in turn helped her to acknowledge her own that she’s shoved down after her brother’s passing.
You were both sitting in Wanda’s room watching sitcoms after today’s melodrama exercise. “I’m sure Pietro would’ve liked you gup,”
You huffed out a laugh. “I think I would’ve socked him in the face a few times, but yeah. He sounds like a decent guy.”
Along with that, she’s been successful working with you, to the point where she doesn’t need to use her powers to calm you anymore.
It was proud sister energy all around the first time she realized the lack of aggression coming from you. Annoyance at the characters, but there was no violent intent.
The rest of the cups in the cabinets are safe and intact
Taking some big steps, buddy. *Pats on the back*
You eventually decided to go to Wanda to talk about the feeling you’ve been getting around Natasha, hoping to get some insight, answers ideally.
You were watching Wanda while she was cooking in the kitchen when you spoke up. “Wan, I want to know your input on something,” You focused on the tomato can sitting on the counter as you tried to get your thoughts organized.
Wanda continued to stir a pot while she looked over at you. Eyes slightly unfocused and cracking your knuckles. “Sure, what is it, gup?”
“I’ve been having this odd…. feeling toward Nat. Since I met her really, and it’s been buggin’ me,” There was more knuckle cracking and is a can of Hunt’s diced tomatoes really only 30 calories? - Please focus.
She was turning off the stove and draining pasta when her brows furrowed. “An odd feeling…About Nat? Help me out here Jaws,”
Your words came out rushed with a shortness of breath. “Can’t you just read my mind, do the wispy thingy and help me. Please?”
Wanda set aside the pot in her hands, and she came over to where you were sitting on the edge of the table. “I’m not going to look through your mind for this, gup. I want you to tell me so that we’re both on the same page. Just like you trust me to help you, I trust you to tell me what I need to know so that I can do that.” She picked up both of your hands in hers and had you look her in the eyes. “Now, can you tell me about this ‘odd feeling’?”
You took a deep breath. “It’s not a feeling I’ve had before, but it’s always there whenever I’m around Nat. It was more irritating than anything when I first met her, but now it’s just….strange.”
Wanda nodded slowly, “Okay. So is the feeling itself irritation, or is it that this new feeling you’ve felt is irritating to you?”
“The second one,” You squinted, thinking it over. “It’s this weird sensation in my stomach. Like, like feathers floating in my stomach. It’s almost, light? Does that make sense?”
“Yes, that makes a lot of sense. A light feeling-”
“I thought it was just because I was hungry, but I’d eat and still feel that way around her,”
Wanda’s mouth quirked up in a half smile in fondness. “Hunger, huh?”
You kept thinking about it. “Yeah. Like I said, it was irritating at first, and I didn’t really wanna be around her because I don’t like feeling hungry, y’know? But the more I get that feeling around her it isn’t as irritating, and I actually want to spend time with her. It’s just weird, Wan.”
The stream of consciousness actually cleared a good bit up for Wanda. “I think I know what this feeling you’re having around Natasha is gup,” she gave you a light smile.
She gave your hands a brief squeeze. “It’s called Affection, and I’m going to go out on a limb and say romantic affection. The feather light feeling in your stomach around her, then wanting to be around her more. From what you’ve told me and from what I’ve seen, that’s what it sounds like to me.”
“From what you’ve seen? What’d you see?” Wanda had to hold back a small laugh at the deer in the headlights look you had on your face.
“Between how close you are together, you’re always in contact with each other if you’re in the same room, not to mention how much happier and relaxed you are when she’s with you.”
“I…that is true,” You really didn’t know what to say in response. All of this is true. So, this is romantic affection…. So now what? You don’t know about romantic affection, how to respond to it, navigate it, contain it-
“You look like you’re having a pretty stressful time up there,” Wanda lightly tapped on the side of your head. She wanted to bring you back out of it. That particular train of thought was pretty loud.
“I don’t- I’ve never felt this with anyone before, Wan. I can’t manage my ‘romantic affection’ for Natasha, it’s there every fucking time we’re together, alone, with everyone else, it doesn’t matter! I-”
“Hey, hey look at me,” Wanda stopped your sudden rocking back and forth. “You’re scared of this feeling? What it could mean for you and Natasha?” Her voice was calm, eyes diligent and staying on yours. You nodded wordlessly.
Wanda did have a bit of a look in your mind earlier, and the amount of just- love that you have for Natasha by this point was almost staggering. Everything that you didn’t say: Looking forward to spending your sessions with her, loving the sound of her voice when she’d read to you, having Natasha be your main motivation for getting better at containing your anger, throwing yourself into it to make her proud of you, how her reprimanding you for losing your temper was basically the worst feeling in the world...
It was everything you didn’t say that was what convinced Wanda.
“Fear of the unknown is normal, gup. But my advice to you? Talk with Nat. Tell her how you feel. Chances are that this isn’t going to just go away, having to live in the same building, seeing her every day. That feeling is going to persist until you actualize these feelings for Natasha. Who knows, she might just surprise you,” You continued to nod, mulling over everything she was telling you.
There’s no use waiting any longer then, huh?
----------
You found Natasha in her room, looking over some mission report from last week. She hadn’t been around because of said mission. You weren’t cleared to go for missions yet, so you were left to wait.
Longest week of your life.
You’re almost embarrassed to admit you were almost lost without her around. Thankfully Wanda kept you tethered to the ground for the week.
Natasha looked up when she heard her door open. “Hey you,” She set her papers down as she rested her eyes on you.
You can’t help but crack your knuckles a bit, swaying in the doorway slightly. “Heya. Can I talk to you for a bit?” She nodded as she gestured for you to come in.
You closed the door behind you as you made your way over to her bed. “You’re not busy right now right?”
“I would’ve told you if I was, Jaws. Now, what did you want to talk to me about?” Nat was never one to beat around the bush, was she?
“I wanted to tell you- um” You kept your gaze on the pen sitting on Natasha’s desk as you remembered Wanda talking you through telling Nat that you like her. ‘Breathe’, be honest, and be yourself’ were the three things that she told you to remember. “I want to say that I like you— like, romantically speaking,”
Natasha kept silent, but she was paying attention to what you were saying.  “Over the months that we’ve spent together, you helpin' me and getting to know each other in and out of sessions, you’ve made me a better person. You’ve made me want to be better. I can’t say I’ve ever thought about it before because it never mattered. You made the difference for me, Natasha.”
“At first I didn’t know what I was feeling, I knew that I didn’t hate you, but now I know.” She watched you take a deep breath in and out before continuing.
“When Wanda helped me through it the other day, I’m not gonna lie to you, I was genuinely scared for the first time since I was like, a kid. Knowing you have feelings for someone is one thing, but when you’ve never had an example to look at and be like ‘that’s how you care for someone, that’s how you love someone,’...... I didn’t want to mess that up. I didn’t want to ruin what we have now and scare you away. Hell, before coming here I was pacing up an' down the halls debating if I wanted to go through with tellin’ you, but just lookin’ at you now… It's enough for me to go through with this— to tell you, and to maybe even try love with you,”
You missed Natasha’s eyes widening slightly at your words, the small smile growing on her face. Over the months spent with you, she realized her feelings for you in the middle somewhere. She’d never brought that forward because there were evidently more urgent matters taking precedence. Helping you came first, and whatever she felt for you would come after.
She’d been making peace with her inner demons from her own past training in the red room. The internal battle of whether or not to pursue this supposedly childish desire of hers, but yet here you were, laying it all out in front of her. How do you follow up that? She had made her choice.
“I want to try love with you too,” is all she said before you finally met her eyes, Natasha now within arm’s reach.
You let out a breath of relief muddled together with a laugh. “Y’know, waking up together, going to bed together, dating, that’s all included in the Love Starter Kit. I think kissing is one of the bonus items included. You in?”
Nat chuckled as she entwined your hands together. “All in,” she held up your entwined hands between both of your faces. “I want all of that with you.” You’d quite possibly been grinning like an idiot by now, all dimples and sharp teeth.
She left a kiss on your entwined hands, and you did the same. You were both going to do this, and you were going to do it together.
