it doesn't matter if close (2022) is a queer love story between two young boys bc it doesn't even matter if either of them are actually queer!! they are children enjoying intimacy and emotional connection in whatever form that takes and it was beautiful like the whole point of the film is that homophobia and toxic masculinity ruins childhood relationships it's destroying friendships and male connection. There is absolutely nothing wrong with two young boys loving each other, platonically or romantically and god I just wanna go hug every young boy in the world and tell them it's okay
