i really shouldn't have spent ten days working on an art piece of my oc team from a rwby fanfiction that only like. 10 or so people read. but i did anyway! because i love them <3

it's that time of month (it has been three months since i last did this), time to post various renewal sketches

ended up wanting to make a mock comic page(s) for a scene from my rwby fic and wound up spending over two days on it :') and now you all know why i don't make comics - it takes ages, and i'm not very good at it!

meant to post this last night after waiting for like a week to post them all at once but then SOMETHING happened and i had to wait for the tl to calm down + be awake

the cover for renewal year two is here! i think it took me roughly 12 hours altogether and i am TIRED but i think my effort paid off!

while i have no specific date planned yet, expect to see the first chapter posted within the next few months.

team llac are part of the newest generation of hunstmen, and they've got their sights set on living life to the fullest.

renewal's old cover/poster was ass!!! so here's a new one that i worked on for two days!!

anyway if you’re newer here or just didn’t know, renewal is by somewhat-canon-compliant rwby future au fanfiction, focusing on team llac- the children of some of remnant’s past heroes- as they navigate life as hunstmen-in-training. you can read it here, and if you do, i’d love to hear your thoughts!!

aaaannddd with last night’s update, here are team llac’s updated refs, now with lily’s nw outfit!! and also a couple of skin colour tweaks because i keep feeling like astra and cobalt are just too pale.

Luna Xiao Long (find out more about her here )

Though she’s gained some confidence since her childhood, she’s still quite the nervous girl and was equal parts excited and terrified of attending Beacon (which is back up and running now that the world is saved). So you can imagine how even more terrified she got when Headmaster Goodwitch appointed her team leader. But, as far as teams go, it could be worse. After all, she was on a team with her friend from Signal and partnered with a pretty faunus from Atlas. As for the other girl…well, she was a mystery. One that Luna’s determined to solve when she’s not attempting to gain Astra’s attention.

Lily Sustrai

Being the daughter of a former criminal was never going to be easy. Emerald may have been pardoned for her crimes by authorities on account of the efforts she’d made to fix her mistakes, but she remains unforgiven and untrusted by the rest of the world and the feelings extend to her daughter. After her father (note: nobody in particular) walked out when she was born, Emerald raised Lily alone, being the mother that she herself never had. That was probably the only good think about her situation in Lily’s opinion. At least someone loved her. Her mistrust and desire to hide from the world was almost enough to crush her dream of becoming a Huntress and earning her family a good name. Almost. She found herself at Beacon anyway, but that doesn’t mean she’s going to like it.

Astra Katt

If one thing’s for sure about Astra, it’s that she absolutely takes after her mother. And she probably should, considering Neon never actually married or even had a boyfriend. Astra’s biological father remains nothing more than a name on a sheet, and she doesn't mind that. However, although she has every bit the energy and flair her mother has, she’s certainly a lot kinder with her words, without nothing mean to say to anyone…intentionally…unless they deserve it, of course. Okay, she maybe she’s not always as nice as she tries to be. Even now, Atlas isn’t the greatest place for faunus. So, when she announced her desire to go to school at Beacon to her mother, Neon happily packed up and moved to Vale with her (even though she really didn’t need to). Astra had nothing but excitement for all the possibilities that lay ahead of her. And when the first person she locked eyes with was a cat faunus with a tail just like hers, she knew she was going to enjoy herself immensely.

Cobalt Scarlatina

Raised in Vale by his loving mother and her teammates that seem set on never leaving her side, Cobalt’s childhood was mostly happy. Mostly. When he was four, his father died in an accident. And while he doesn’t remember him well, a deep part of him still desperately wishes he could have known him, something he keeps to himself. Aside from this, he’s often as cool as a cucumber, happy to go with the flow and rarely expressing any extreme emotion. Rather ironic, considering his stone-manipulating Semblance is anything but quiet. This calm attitude made him the perfect candidate as the only friend Luna had at Signal. Unlike everyone else, he was happy just to lay back and let her decide what was what, rather than trying to force her into anything. And now that they’re at beacon together and in the same team to boot, he’s once again happy to follow her lead with complete faith and trust.
