#cody and obi wan adopted anakin

one of my favourite things about the clone wars is that everyone just agreed that the clone commanders are all in love with their generals.
Obi Wan and Cody? theyre in love. they drink tea together.
Aayla and Bly? married, paint each others nails sometimes.
Shaak Ti and Colt? adopted every single clone trooper, official parents of the GAR.
Anakin and Rex might not be in romantic love, but platonically they were MADE for one another.
and everyone knows that Plo adopted the wolffepack so there nothing but love there, too.
they just deserve to be happy.

Cody: -and what can I do to repay your kindness… for… the poison? *having just asked a witch in the forest to give him something that will get rid of his landlord’s abusive husband that isn’t traceable to him or her*
Obi-Wan: *tapping his chin in thought* your firstborn child, I suppose?
Cody: I’m… infertile.
Obi-Wan: Great! I can’t get pregnant anyways. I know of an orphanage nearby though, we can check it out on our third date?
Cody: …why didn’t you just ask to go on a date with me?
Obi-Wan: I’m already planning to pursue that, I just wanted to test the waters and see if you were interested in kids.
Cody: Ohhhh, okay, yeah, I want kids. I have like twelve siblings, twenty-three cousins, and as an adult they are starting to reproduce on their own, I totally want a huge family.
Obi-Wan: *blushing* How huge?
Cody: *shrugs* I mean, I’m twenty five, I could totally beat my dad’s record if we start adopting soon. My older uncle works in the social system, he’ll get us in to visit the kids and see who fits. I’m thinking first date. Seeya this Friday, sweetheart!
Obi-Wan: *blushing super hard while Cody runs off to go poison a man, looking over to where Anakin and Ahsoka, his first adopted kids are hiding in a bush* Wtf just happened?
Anakin: *wheezing, tears leaking out* Oh my god, I think the firstborn rouse finally got you in over your head, oh my god, Soka, Soka, hold me I’m dying-
Ahsoka: *laughing just as hard* Oh my god, Ani, we have a stepdad!

I like to pretend that Cody’s attempts to get Obi Wan to wear armour also extends to Ahsoka bc George Lucas made it so she wears an elastic band as a shirt in an active war zone so the idea of Cody mothering her and making sure she’s protected is very enjoyable to me.

Last Line Challenge
Rules: In a new post, show the last line you wrote (or drew) and tag as many people as there are words (or however many you like).
Thanks for the tag, @shootingstarpilot! Sorry this took so long, I've been all the over place with stress and also writing ideas, big oof
I have a couple ideas that I've been tossing around but I finally gave in and decided to write the time travel fic of my dreams. I write in my head all day, every day and I don't know if this is going to interest anyone, but it interests me and by god, I am going to write my stupid Codywan time travel/dimension travel shenanigans - fix-it
(I forgot the fucking writing, shit--)
Jinn arches an eyebrow and Cody can see the intrigue flicker through his eyes. “You don’t know?”
“Obviously not.” Cody is impressed at how neutral his voice comes out despite the irritation churning in his stomach. “I don’t even know where I am.”
Jinn’s eyebrows make a break for his hair line even as he’s shoved aside, a young child squirming their way to the front. Cody leans back as the child leans in, eyes wide as they practically vibrate where they stand.
“You’re on Tatooine!”
Cody’s stomach drops out from under him and all he can do is stare. Tatooine? How was he on Tatooine—
“It looked like lightning spat you out of the sky! One second there was nothing, and then—BOOM—you were on the ground, and you wouldn’t wake up, even with the screaming and Mister Qui-Gon trying to talk to you!”
Lightning. Fuck. Obi-Wan, what happened—
Stop.
Breathe.
Cody presses the knuckle into the corner of his eye harder and pulls in a careful, measured breath, focusing on the way the air fills his lungs, forcing them to expand in his chest. He digs his free hand into the sand, rubbing the grains against the pads of his fingers.
Assess.
He’s—apparently—on Tatooine. A few moments ago, he was not on Tatooine. He had been on Coruscant, walking through the Sith-forsaken hallways of the Senate building to meet with Chancellor Organa. Obi-Wan and Ahsoka were due back from their mission in the Outer Rim and were expected to meet with the council before lunchtime. Cody had been looking forward to lunch.

AU where Rex and Cody get thrown into their past bodies, early days of the Clone Wars, and have the chance to fix everything.
They immediately kill Palpatine (leaving no trace of who did it, making it look like an accident/suicide actually.) Then they yell at the Jedi council because what the fuck. After that, they tell everyone about the chips and all the clones are saved from them.
Obviously the war isn’t over just because Palpatine is dead. They do manage to help Obi-Wan and Anakin capture Maul, Dooku, Grievous etc (Cody has to physically restrain Rex from murdering them because “IT’S ON SIGHT- LET ME AT HIM-“)
With most of the major leaders gone, the war only lasts a year or so more because of people who wanted them to win and tried to take over etc etc
Rex and Cody throwing hands with anyone who comes too close to hurting their brothers, Ahsoka, Anakin and Obi-Wan
Eventually everyone gets a little suspicious about their knowledge and shit but don’t care because of the fact they won the war.
They help their brothers find jobs outside of the military for the ones who don’t want to continue to be in it. For the ones who do stay, they make sure they are treated well with the help of Obi-Wan, Anakin and Ahsoka.
Ahsoka still leaves the order but, with the war gone, Anakin goes with her. (No more Darth Vader, yay!) Obi-Wan is conflicted with a lot of things until Cody kicks him in the ass and Obi-Wan leaves the order, finding his favorite people (Rex and Cody in tow bc their job is basically done now) and they all live as a happy family on some random planet.
They even find some force sensitive clones/kids/young adults/etc (yes Fives, Echo, Hardcase, etc are here) and teach them a new way.
Not the Jedi way
Not the Sith way
Their way

„Alright, how many injured?“ Asked the commander. „Twenty not hard and eleven hard.“ Answered the medic. „Alright, dead?“ Asked Cody again. „Five, sir.“ Answered Treepwood bitterly. „Copied that, I´m going to report to General.“ Told Cody looking away. He didn´t like talking about losses. About losses on lives. Then he went away.
„Have you seen our General? I´m searching for him for two hours now. Who was with him, who knows where he is?“ He asked very unpatiently. „I lastly saw him on the battlefield, he was on the back.“ Answered Gregor. „Did he come in?“ Asked Cody. He almost shouted the question. „We didn´t see him, sir.“ Answered Gregor. As this words fell, the commander started feeling unwell. ´His General is somewhere out there. Wounded? Dead? AloNE? WITHOUT HELP? BLEEDING OUT? SURROUNDED BY ENEMIES? TORTURED? ALONE? LEFT ALONE? DYING BECAUSE THEY LEFT HIM TO DIE?´ His eyes full of teror looked around. „Capitain, find ten Troopers who are able to come with me. I´m going for General.“ He told his order silently like death. „I´m-“ „YOU´RE NOT COMMING WITH ME, I NEED SOMEONE IN CHARGE HERE IF I WON´T COME BACK!“ Cody yelled on Gregor. In ten minutes, there were ten Troopers. And Cody.
Cody was worried more and more as time passed. Every second was imoprtant. ´Why didn´t I think about it sooner? Why I LEFT HIM ALONE? WHY-´ „Sir, there´s something!“ Shouted someone from the ten. Commander ran. Without thoughts. Yes, it was General. His General Kenobi. His robes soaked with blood. He rushed to him even more. Then he kneeled to him. They had luck, Kenobi clearly wasn´t injured for long. Cody lifted him up a bit and held his hand. „CALL TREEPWOOD! NOW!“ He ordered shouting. He examined him a bit then.
„Treepwood listening.“ Told small hologram. „General Kenobi is badly wounded, come or send a good medic.“ Told Cody. „He has a wound on his chest and is bleeding bladly. He isn´t conscious. Also he is -ehm- beaten up a bit. You know, a bit for him and a lot for anybody else.“ He reported to medic. After that, he turned to his men. „Search why was he there, he can´t be bleeding for long and there must be a reason why he stayed here then.“ He told. „I think I know.“ Told the medic. „Two Brothers are missing.....Someone did a mistake in counting and didn´t count them up.“ „So we have reason. Find them.“
Treepwood came. Troopers were found. Silence as they carried them to the camp. What ifs were in minds.
Many were guarding their General. One of those two Troopers died. One woke up. Kenobi took good care of them ´till he could. But he didn´t wake up that morning. He stayed as he was, breathing but still and frowning from the unbearing pain as he did before. Even after the painkillers. One more day. Yes, they were soon comming away. And Skywalker came, acompanied by his Padawan. When she saw him, she cried. Yes, Ahsoka cried a lot. But her tears didn´t change anything, nor Skywalker´s pleases and screams. Everything stayed still and full of pain. Third day came.
Hum was there. Was he on ship? Or? Everything blurry. Eyelids heavy. A lot of pain. Silence. Someone there. Two someones. Three someones. Maybe four? One holding his right hand. One cuddled next to him. One on chair near there and one standing a bit more away. He slowly tried to open his eyes. His left arm was- Was it wet? Like from water? What was happeneing? Who were those? He opened his eyes finaly. And he remembered. The one holding his hand was Cody. Yes, his good loyal Cody. Never too far from him. He would give him smile if he had the strenght to do it. On his left, there was a teenage girl. A Togruta. Ahsoka. Yes, it was her. On the chair, full of worry and pain? Anakin, his former padawan. Standing somewhere? Rex, the Capitain. Yes. Alright. And what happened?
First to realise that he is awake was Ahsoka. She shifted and sat up. She started stroking his hair. He looked to her eyes. His eyes like glass-made from the fever he for sure had and also from the pain. And he remembered. He wanted to ask if the boys made it, but he couldn´t find his voice. Not even breath. As if she knew, she whispered. „Good job, master Kenobi, you did well.“ Question still there. „You saved them.“ So they survived? He hoped that yes. Cody turned and saw. „It´s good now, rest, you realy need it. Also is it bearable?“ Cody asked softly. „Hm.“ First thing he got from himself. „Gonna be better.“ Cody asured him. „Gonna be fine.“ Rex came and held his left hand. „You already had came thought the worst. Treepwood and Kix...and others had a hard time with you. We all were worried.“ He told.
Ahsoka stood up and went to her master. „Wake up, Skyguy! It´s time to smile.“ She told him. „Shut up.“ „You aren´t nice. Our master is waiting for you, you stubborn martyr.“ She told him. „He- he- He WOKE UP?!“ Anakin shoted in surprise and stood up so fastly, that he almost tossed Ahsoka to ground. „Calm down.“ She told him as if he was her padawan, not vice versa. But he didn´t hear anything. He came to Obi-Wan. „Master? Do you hear me?“ He asked. Rex went back and Anakin sat on the bed, holding his master´s hand. „Hnn“ Tears of happines. „We almost lost our hope, you can´t do this to us!“ Anakin told. „Look at Cody, now he can get some sleep. After THREE days! And look at me and Ahsoka, you owe us two nights of worries.“ He told him, trying to make him as comfortable as possible, if there was any way he could. „Mm“ Sleep now.

Obi Wan, married to Cody: *gasp* How scandalous!
Plo Koon, on the process of legally adopting the Clone Army: Preposterous!
Anakin, who fools around with the 501st like they were all children: How could that reckless, handsome jedi do that??

The Rules:
Every twenty-four hours there will be another round. After every round, the ship in last place will be eliminated.
If there are multiple ships tying for last place, there will be a special elimination round. In these rounds, every ship in last place will be eliminated, even if all the ships have tied equally.
When there are only two ships remaining, they will face off against one another in a week-long poll to determine the victor.
If the ship that you consider the best isn't listed here, hit the 'you forgot the best ship' option and reply to this post with the overlooked ship. The ship with the highest 'write-in' votes will be added to the next round. Unless the 'you forgot the best ship' option is the least voted for, in which case it will be eliminated.Welcome to the fray, Kalluzeb!
This is all for fun. Don't take it too seriously ;)
It's sadly time for Kalluzeb to retire to Lira San, buy a nice house with a white picket fence, and adopt 2.5 kids and a golden retriever. Which is exactly the same as what they did in canon. Safe travels, boys.

My [completed] CodyWan Fic Masterlist
This is going to be a very long list of all my favorite CodyWan fics that are completed. Later on today or tomorrow I'll make another list for all of the CodyWan fics I enjoy that are currently ongoing/incomplete (because we, in fandom, need to start supporting authors during the writing process instead of only after, but that's a whole other post).
The fics are gonna be separated by Modern AU, Canon-Divergent/Canon-ish, Crack, and Canon But a Little to the Left. Full Disclaimer: this is going to be a very long list, so the triggers and descriptions will be brief--make sure you read the tags and warnings before reading!
I don't know who these authors are on tumblr, so I can't tag them, but I recommend that you guys tag them if you recognize them--because they deserve all the love <3 and I think, especially now, we need to let fic authors know that we appreciate them.
Modern AU
212th Street Coffee by thosewhowanderwithfire
Cody runs a coffee shop, Obi-Wan comes in frequently with a different members of his friends/family and Cody learns a lot about his crazy life by eavesdropping.
bury me beneath the tree i climbed when i was a child by stormwarnings
Obi-Wan's family life is messy, to say the least. Cody and his family work as firefighters/EMTs/etc. and Obi-Wan kinda just gets adopted into the family by constantly needing to call the firefighters/EMTs/etc.
Coruscant Story by TyeDyeBoogers
A mafia AU thing where Obi-Wan and Cody are both in different mafia families, but then they date each other pretending to be regular normal people (bc neither of them know they're in the mafia, much less different families), and then a bunch of stuff happens and drama ensues.
TW: Murder, Violence
cradle my name on your tongue by jynx
Running from an abusive ex, Obi-Wan and Anakin move to a small town where they set up their tattoo and piercing shop. Obi-Wan quickly falls for Cody, the florist across the street, but bad things happen when Obi-Wan's ex just won't give up.
TW: Violence, Abusive Relationship, Drugging, Attempted SA (this doesn't go into detail, but it's still there)
Foreign Affairs by ro_moray
Obi-Wan and Anakin come to America as foreign ambassadors, Cody is one of their bodyguards. Both Obi-Wan and Cody fall head over heels quickly, and there's some political drama via Maul.
TW: Violence (I think?)
Hey Bartender by Wxlves
Obi-Wan and Cody both work as bartenders at Dex's, they become FWB, and feelings ensue.
I've Served My Time In Hell by TheSleepingOne (SleepingNebula)
There's a zombie apocalypse going on and Obi-Wan is repeatedly fucked over by the universe in the form of being forced to spend time around his ex, Cody, and Cody's very protective family.
TW: Violence, Gore
Liminal Beings by ChubbstheFish
Cody is the lighthouse keeper in a small town with his family. Obi-Wan and his family move into said small town and become close with Cody's family, but it quickly becomes clear that Obi-Wan and his family aren't exactly what they seem--aka human.
Not Denial by spqr
Obi-Wan is a PI and Cody is the sorry moron who falls head over heels for him after meeting him exactly once.
TW: Violence
Seeker Prospector by brigitttt
Cody is a bounty hunter looking for his father, Obi-Wan is just trying to study dinosaur bones. The two meet, fuck, and then catch feelings.
TW: Violence, Mild Gore (I think)
We’ll Do This Together by MageOfCole
Obi-Wan and Cody have a one night stand and Cody accidentally gets Obi-Wan pregnant (of the trans variety, not the a/b/o variety). Obi-Wan tries to hide this from Cody and his family, but Obi-Wan's family doesn't know how to mind their own business. Family hijinks ensue.
What…a sleep over? by Wixiany
Cody's family decides to host a party, but he needs to study, so he heads over to Anakin's brother's house to get some peace and quiet. He wasn't ready for how pretty Obi-Wan was.
You Gave Me the World that I Wanted by Legogirl22
Cody has to take care of his family, so he swears up and down that he won't fall for the cute bookkeeper he keeps seeing. He fails. Miserably.
Canon Divergent/Canon-ish
A Ghost or a Man by smallandangry
Obi-Wan makes a life for himself on Tatooine, eventually Cody finds him, and the locals get attached to both.
A New Life by cwiptids
Rex and Echo hear about a clone on Tatooine...guess who they meet and take another guess as to who they're married to.
end of the road by adiduck (book_people)
Obi-Wan and Cody spar before Utapau and make unfulfilled promises.
Glimpse Of Us by fingerstripesofchaos
Post-Order 66 angst fic, just like...loads of angst. This is not a happy fic at all, it made me cry.
TW: Suicide Mention/Reference
Haven’t Felt Like This My Dear by Bluebellstar
Cody gets a hangover and is a total baby about it, Obi-Wan is very amused.
little white truths by imperiousphasmid
Obi-Wan gets injured and only family and spouse(s) are allowed to see him...I think you know where this is going.
Made by Walking by piotsa
After Order 66, Quinlan finds Cody and then Cody finds Obi-Wan.
not dead yet by keylimemagpie (QuickSilverFox3)
✨ smut with emotions ✨
Our children our future (that we didn’t know of) by Feniksiara
After Order-66 Cody finds out that the Kaminoans decided to use Obi-Wan and Cody's DNA to make Force-sensitive clones...then the Mandalorian dad genes kick in.
Standard Operating Procedures by galateaGalvanized
A mission goes wrong and suddenly almost the entire 212th is in love with Obi-Wan...except, it appears, Cody. Y'all know exactly where this is going.
all the world in my arms by biscuityskies
Obi-Wan has nightmares after Kadavo, then shit goes to hell on a mission, and Cody worries--also Anakin and biscuityskies' OC Hex are little shits.
where the fields are painted gold by biscuityskies
The 212th end up crashing in the forest, so Obi-Wan and Cody get some "camping out in the forest" cuddles and also banter.
night spar by cabezadeperro (minigami)
Obi-Wan and Cody spar at night, and there is a lot of tension. Not of the fun kind, though.
chain of command by cabezadeperro (minigami)
Obi-Wan and Cody are undercover and eventually have to find some way to keep the people tracking them from finding them. If you've watched Marvel, you know where this is going.
In the Treetops by ebw_writes499
After a mission on Kashyyyk everyone needs to go to bed, which they do...all the way up in the trees.
Caretaker by ebw_writes499
On Tatooine, Cody gets sick and Obi-Wan has to take care of him. Obi-Wan is a worrier.
Love Despite the Distance by ebw_writes499
After the war, Cody and Rex comm each other to catch up. Also Cody became a senator against his will.
Overworked by ebw_writes499
Obi-Wan and Cody both had the same idea and that idea was "sneak off to take a nap."
Compartment Syndrome by elwenyere
After a bad crash, Obi-Wan is knocked out and Cody is injured. Cody carries Obi-Wan through all the danger while reminiscing, certain that he'll be decommissioned after due to his injury.

I see your “Ahsoka Tano gets de-aged and Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Plo enter dad mode” and I raise you:
Ahsoka Tano gets de-aged and battle tested, top strategist and captain of the 501st Rex, melts and enters ultimate ori’vod mode as soon as he sees his commander tiny. The 501st as a whole fights over who gets to carry her around the ship and Anakin watches his extremely competent and experienced battalion fall to pieces as soon as they see baby Ahsoka.
Marshall Commander Cody aka the ori’vod of half the GAR let’s baby Ahsoka sit in his lap as he does reports and carries her to meetings. The 212th take turns escorting the tiny commander to the med bay to be checked up on (because god knows how many diseases they come into contact with as they travel around the galaxy). Obi-Wan watches one of the best legions in the GAR fall prey again and again to his grandpadawan’s tooka eyes.
All of this only happens if they can pry Ahsoka from the 104th. Wolffe refuses to let Ahsoka out if his sight when she is with them, usually resorting to carrying her everywhere. Rarely has anybody seen Ahsoka not being carried, either on the shoulders or in the arms, of Commander Wolffe. Those in the 104th that had known Ahsoka before she became Anakin’s student and the commander of the 501st don’t trust her well-being with their other brothers. It’s not that they doubt their brothers’ with Ahsoka, it’s just that they feel much better when she is safe with them. Completely normal. Plo watches his serious and battle hardened battalion soften as soon as they get their hands on baby Ahsoka.
I raise you, the clone troopers born from Jango Fett’s DNA, a mandalorian through and through, see a child and immediately adopt it.

Plo Koon: [to Wolffe] Do I adopt too many-
Wolffe: Yes. To rectify, you should disown Sinker.
Sinker: [from the other side of the ship] Hey fuck you too
Plo Koon: [to Fives] Do  you think I adopt too many clones?
Anakin: Master Plo, that’s not one of yours.
Plo Koon: [confused] What?
Fives: [to Wolffe] Am I adopted now?
Wolffe: Yes.
Fives: Neat. :)
Plo Koon: [to Cody] Do you-
Obi Wan: Hey, that’s one of mine!
Boost: [From behind Obi Wan] Not anymore.
Comet, Dash, Boost:  One of us. One of us. One of us.
Anakin: [genuinely distraught] Make them stop. Fives you’re not allowed to visit the Wolffe Pack, anymore!
Fives: [melodramatic] How dare you tear me away from my father, General.

Padawan Reader
*Obi-wan and Anakin eating in the cantina*
Obi-wan: I think Cody have some kind of baby fever.
Anakin: what do you mean by that?
*Cody appearing in the door, Y/n in his arms, Ahsoka on his back and Barris holding his hand*
Cody: right now I'm adopting every padawan, youngling and shiny on this ship. "looks at Anakin* Including you Skywalker. You are now adopted.
Obi-wan: oh for the force...
Anakin, smiling: sorry Obi-wan, I'm adopted. *stands up to join Cody*
(Cody collected at least 15 padawan and 30 shinies, before Obi-wan said he needs to stop. He didn't. Now Obi-wan is a husband and a father as well.)

As far as shower ideas go, I was not expecting to come up with an AU where Anakin Skywalker adopts a tubie after the Battle of Kamino because the Kaminoans were going to decommission the kid for losing a limb in the chaos of all the fighting.
Of course it wasn’t planned for, it’s just one of those things that happen too quickly too fast and while normally Anakin would be outraged at the practice of decommissioning (because that was supposed to have been banned), he uses his smarts by talking to Kix first.
“Can you fake a death report?”
“….. Depends…. Sir.”
“Okay cool, I’ll take that as a yes. I need you to mark this tubie as KIA.”
“E-Excuse me?! General, I can’t just—“
“Kix, I know, I know. But I overheard the longnecks talking about this little guy, and they want to decommission him.”
“You had me at longnecks.”
With a flick of a stylus, Kix marks the tubie off the records, thus allowing Anakin to just take the baby and sneak him off Kamino. Echo and Fives help with “requisitioning” some of the clothing and supplies needed ‘cause that stuff got damaged during the battle who’s gonna notice a few extra missing.
Rex, upon seeing a sleeping tubie strapped to his general’s chest, gets an instant migraine and comms Cody, who then decides that’s none of his problem but then sends Rex “How to Care for Younglings” guides because they’re going to need all the help they can get.
Obi-Wan, after the initial shock, is not surprised but he’s definitely not happy about it because now that baby is not just Anakin’s responsibility, it’s now his too, because apparently Anakin decided to introduce him as “Uncle” Obi-Wan. (They’re gonna have a great time explaining this to the Council.) Ashoka is on the side grinning wildly because new baby nephew? brother? She is all for the ensuing chaos.
The tubie, who gets named Widget, pretty much immediately becomes an honorary member of Torrent Company. They make a rotation chart on who gets to hold him while the General is busy (which in all honesty Anakin probably keeps Widget on him like they’re glued so Torrent takes what they can get).
When they return to Coruscant, Anakin takes Widget to Padmé the first chance he gets. He has some explaining to do but this is honestly one of the least hair-brained things he’s done in a while (coughcough). Padmé and Widget become smitten with each other anyway.
I’m just basically imagining Anakin carrying this cute big-eyed baby with him everywhere and just radiating happy young parent energy. He can’t take Widget all the time on the venator, but boy does he go the extra mile to sneak him onboard just to have extra quality time (with help from Ashoka of course ‘cause she’s determined to be the cool aunt). And it’s just, Widget is his son, and Anakin is his dad. Even though Widget has to be left at the Temple creche (I bet that arrangement was a doozy) every time while the 501st are on campaign, Anakin calls any chance he gets to check up on him.
This is definitely a fix-it AU, by the way. Even though there are still attachment issues involved, Widget changes the course of Anakin’s fate for the better.
.
.
Somehow I always write more than I mean to, and there’s still so many things and details I didn’t write down but I think I wrote out the gist of it. Anyway, Anakin with baby.

Somehow Palpatine Returned
Ok I had a hilarious thought and I need to share it with all of you. I don’t normally venture into the Sequels, for all that I have been a FinnPoe and a FinnPoeRey shipper for years, or into anything close to canon,  but I want to share this with you.
Picture if you will the moment where Poe is telling the audience that ‘Somehow Palpatine has returned’. Ponder for a moment Obi Wan Kenobi, in the Force, at that moment. The look on his face.
We are going with, somehow, Palpatine managed to hide his real identity from the Force Ghosts so they did not know he was still alive.
We are also, from my own personal headcanon, going with the idea that Obi Wan severely dislikes (as close to hate as he is capable of) Palpatine and has for almost fifty years at this point.  Like 90% of the horrible things that happened in Obi Wan’s adult life can be traced back to Palpatine (both directly and indirectly).
At the moment that Poe reveals that Palpatine is back, in the Force Obi Wan starts swearing. He starts swearing in every language he knows. He starts mixing languages in his swears. He starts inventing new curses and new languages to be able to express his displeasure at the news.
Obi Wan Kenobi is about ready to materialize into the mortal plane for the sole purpose of ripping Palpatine’s arm off and beating him with it (in a way that violates all manner of physics and Force).
Slightly to the Left of Obi Wan, Anakin Skywalker is staring at his grandson in mild horror going ‘why are you…this’.
The Force starts manifesting people to calm Obi Wan Kenobi down (For fear that Obi Wan will break…everything). First Force Sensitives and Jedi he cared for, then Clones, then non force sensitives, even a few old enemies.
Note 1: Maul appears at one point and screams ‘Kenobi’ for a really long time, to the point that everyone else (other than Obi Wan) looks at him. He shrugs and goes ‘I just wanted to get your attention’ then goes to sit down next to Satine so they can both score Obi Wan’s curses while splitting a bottle of Force Wine.
Note 2: Maul and Satine have a weirdly cordial relationship for being a pacifist government official ex girlfriend of a Jedi and the Sith Warlord that murdered her in front of said Jedi, but they have found in the afterlife that they both get joy from the face Obi wan makes when they argue about something inane with him. Also they may be each scoring Obi Wan’s swears (with the occasional addition of Yoda, Dooku, Ventress, and Padme) but they are using different metrics so their scores are vastly different at all time (Maul is scoring on Creativity, Violence, and the number of organs violated; Satine is scoring on creativity, number of languages used, how poetic/rhythmic, and how well it translates into basic).
A battalion's worth of clones are arrayed around Obi Wan, taking notes. Quinlan Vos appears and vanishes in rapid succession as he helps to calm then egg Obi Wan on (at which point the Force yanks him away only to be convinced to put him back). Cody tries to calm Obi Wan down for precisely three minutes, then he realizes what has Obi Wan so steamed. At that point he goes ‘no this reaction is completely valid’ and starts discussing how one would make some of those curses a reality (as they do violate physics, the Force, and human structural integrity. Also Palpatine does not even have some of those organs) with Qui Gonn Jinn, who is deeply amused but happy to bond with his pseudo son in law.
Plo Koon wanders through and announces that he is adopting all of the new stormtroopers both dead and living (in the mortal plane Finn, Rose, and others suddenly get the feeling that they have been absconded with and have no idea why).
In one corner Anakin, still despairing over Kylo Ren/Ben Solo and his life choices, is having an ongoing yet supremely awkward family reunion with one or more of the following at any given point and time: his wife, whom he had a hand in killing; his daughters adoptive parents, whom he helped murder; his daughter’s husband, who he tortured, froze in carbonite, and sold to a bounty hunter; and his step brother and step sister in law that rose his son on a planet that Anakin hated, whom he only didn’t torture because he never remembered they existed; Assorted Jedi who he had been close to, whom he might of had a hand in murdering.
That one corner has so much passive aggressiveness that it is insane.  A lot of Anakin asking out loud why Kylo Ren is…like that with one or more of the previously listed people going ‘Maybe if his grandfather didn’t become a Sith, Ben wouldn’t have gotten the idea’. Which is both slightly unfair, as Anakin had been dead by the time Ben Solo was born, but also funny as anything.
Also no one in that corner was actually discussing their elephant in the room, which was Anakin turned out to be THE PROBLEM for two decades.
There is an ever growing parade of everyone Obi Wan has ever met being thrown at him by the Force because the Force effectively went: SHIT that is a lot of anger. Deflect.Deflect.

Mand’alor Kenobi (Duke Kryze)
Obi-Wan leaves the Jedi, marries Satine, gets widowed and ends up as Duke Kryze.
Two alternative endings:
1) Jango Fett resurfaces and returns to Mandalore; or
2) After the war, Cody and his brothers receive an offer for repatriation from the Duke.
Obi-Wan leaves the order for Satine—and for Mandalore, ravaged by a civil war that never truly stops.
During his mission to Mandalore, Obi-Wan not only keeps Satine alive but is invaluable in consolidating her power. However, the hostilities never truly cease, the political situation is a powder keg, and at the conclusion of the Jedis’ mission, Satine sees how it’s Obi-Wan who’s holding the tenuous peace together. She asks him to stay and he leaves the order—not only for Satine, but for Mandalore and her people whom he feels the conclusion of their mission leaves hanging.
In the following months, everybody is running ragged trying to keep Mandalore together. Having already proved his worth as a negotiator/mediator, Obi-Wan quickly rises to a lynchpin position in the new government. Despite his background as a Jedi, his actions during the clan wars have earned him the respect of the more traditional warrior clans and he’s seen as a more moderate option to Satine’s extremism. Tl;dr: instead of treating Obi-Wan as arm candy, Satine puts him to work and inadvertently puts a lot of political power in his hands. What can you say? Sizeable and/or politically influential fraction of Mandalore’s population/clans likes Obi-Wan better than Satine.
To prevent her fragile and fractious government from splintering further (and to put an end to the talk about republic agents), Satine and Obi-Wan decide to make their relationship official and marry. Half of it is because they truly care for each other, but half of it is to consolidate the political power and marry the separate factions within their government together. They have irreconcilable differences of opinion when it comes to politics, but they both want what’s best for the people and that’s a unified leadership that’s not fighting with itself. So they have screaming matches in private, but pull together in public.
Stuff happens, Death Watch kills Satine (with or without the involvement of the Sith)—and New Mandalorians/Sundari/Mandalore unites behind the widowed Duke Kryze.
SO: That’s either a plot or a setup for the erstwhile Mand’alor Vhett to resurface, with or without an army of clones, a galactic war, the return of the Sith, and perhaps a political marriage that may finally unite Mandalore.
Perhaps:
- Obi-Wan grieves his wife, he truly does. But in the aftermath, he hardly has the time. And in retrospect, he has to wonder if half of the reason why achieving compromise always seemed like an uphill battle wasn’t because he spent half of his time fighting Satine and trying to moderate her extremism to something more palatable to the clans.
- In the aftermath, Obi-Wan may or may not finally succeed in putting down the Kyr’tsad and winning the Darksaber, which may or may not go a long way in convincing the remaining traditionalist and Kyr’tsad clans to get in line.
- Any Sith coming to take a piece of Mandalore or its Duke may find they’ve bitten off more than they can chew.
- Korkie Kryze may or may not be Satine and Obi-Wan’s son. Or maybe he is Satine’s baby nephew—Obi-Wan and Satine may still end up adopting him, depending on who else is left.
- Bo-Katan Kryze may or may not survive Kyr’tsad, but regardless, a Death Watch lieutenant is not going to be accepted by the people. She may get a seat in Obi-Wan’s council to placate Kyr’tsad loyalists, but she has no shot at getting the rule. Tbh, Obi-Wan would absolutely be the type to adopt his late wife’s feral terrorist little sister.
- Obi-Wan ends up adopting a full squad of feral murder children, in a true Mandalorian fashion.
- Jinn may or may not be alive; Anakin may or may not be his apprentice or have taken refuge on Naboo after his death; Obi-Wan may or may not be carrying a grudge towards the Sith for killing the man who raised him. And then killed his wife.
- The idea of marriage is probably actually first put forward by the clans who dislike Satine but find Obi-Wan acceptable. That would be a compromise solution: they’d accept Satine’s rule, but with the moderating influence of Obi-Wan as her husband.
- Actually, wasn’t “Ben” a nickname that Obi-Wan was originally given by Satine? He might then go by “Ben Kryze” after his marriage.
- Mand’alor is the sole ruler → before and during the Clan Wars, Obi-Wan is titled the duke. After he’s unified Mandalore under one sole government, he’s the Mand’alor.
- Timeline fuckery: instead of 15, Obi-Wan and Satine are ~20, early 20s. Young, but not teenagers. Satine may be a few years older.
- Jango may think he’s coming to Mandalore to oust the hu’tuun Duchess’s Jetii widow, only to find said widow to be a) the most mandokarla verd he has ever met, and b) more widely supported than he himself ever was. There’s no ousting the Duke now and if Jango were to kill him, he would only succeed in making him a martyr and uniting Mandalore further in avenging him. Jango… deals with these revelations. Well—he tries.
ALTERNATIVELY: After the war, Marshal Commander Cody and his brothers receive an unexpected offer of repatriation from Duke Kryze of Mandalore, who was tragically widowed during the war.
And perhaps:
- The offer may or may not be unexpected: if the Sith decided to go after Mandalore, there’s no saying what the Mandalorians might have discovered and whether their Mand’alor might have taken a proactive approach to the threat.
- The second dark sabre wielding Jedi Mand’alor might be something of stuff of legends—or nightmares—in the republic space/among the clones.
- Jango Fett might not have wanted the clones, but apparently this Duke Kryze does. If he is to be believed, Fett might have been the vode’s dar’buir, but according to Mandalorian law, there is no such thing as a dar’ad. Whether Jango Fett ever called them his sons or not, the mere fact of consciously partaking in their creation is enough to make them recognised as such in Mandalorian space.
- And so, here in Cody’s hands is an offer of citizenship for all of his vode; colourful pamphlets about various welfare and retraining programs; and apparently, a seat in the Duke’s council for the aliit’alor Vhett.
- Cody is torn between crying from relief (an end to the indeterminate arguments in the senate between citizenship and decommissioning?) and justified suspicion (a no-strings offer of home and sentient rights for all of his brothers? Too good to be true).
- Mandalore’s famous warriors have been decimated first in the clan wars and then in the galaxy wide conflict, which has left Mandalore in a more precarious position than may outwardly seem. The offer is not purely altruistic (Mandalore would be gaining an army of millions), even if Obi-Wan does also see it as justice. To Cody who’s been waiting for the other shoe to drop, this feels like relief. This, he can understand. What’s honestly more confusing is the Duke rushing to explain that acting in defence of Mandalore is something that’s expected from every citizen, not just the vode. Moreover, if someone can not or chooses not to fight, they are not forced to do so, simply expected to do their part in another way.
- And if the clones want to ply their trade as mercenaries? Well, it’s a time honoured profession on Mandalore—of course they may. As it happens, in the aftermath of a galactic war, there’s no end of work for hired guns. This may… upset the struggling republic. Any vode that decide to seek work in republic space keep their buckets tightly on as they may or may not be recognised as sentient, still—and other Mandalorians do so in support. Not all of them may *like* the clones, but treating other mandalorians as lost property? Not cool.
- Culturally, I would absolutely see Mandalorians as the sort of a culture that would not only think that their children are their future, but also that their people are their strength. The republic might see millions of vode as mouths to feed and bodies to house. But Mandalore? They see millions of trained warriors the republic doesn’t seem to want anymore and think “the greatest prize in the galaxy, up for grabs”.
- If Obi-Wan went on the offensive, he could declare that the vode are citizens of Mandalore by birth and the republic better stop treating Mandalorian warriors as expendable slaves or else. He can’t, of course. But it doesn’t stop him from wanting to.
- If Jango Fett dies as in canon, Obi-Wan’s family of adorable murder children might or might not include Boba. If the kids don’t kill each other, Obi-Wan will go down in history as Mand’alor the Unifier. This sort of adopting the offspring of your slain enemies is not ethically unproblematic btw, but on the other hand, I could see how the practice might fit in the Mandalorian culture.
About politics & war:
- Point of contention: Satine wants to exile the traditionalists to Concordia, there to fight each other to extinction in a pointless battle for dominance (canon, what the fuck?). Obi-Wan wants to unite Manda’yaim, not divide it further. This point alone, if he manages it, would win him points over Satine. So: instead of all traditionalists exiled, Obi-Wan manages to wrangle a shaky alliance of New Mandalorians and moderate traditionalists. Not necessarily the same bunch as Haat Mando’ade though there might be overlap.
- Satine, meanwhile, would be happy to import agricultural products from Concordia to the biodomes of Sundari. That’s a mess from an economic and food security standpoint. Again I ask: canon, what the fuck? You exile the unwanted parts of your population and then rely on them for food production? That’s not actually a realistic plot point, maybe scrap it and write something that provides actual political tension that doesn’t make caricatures of any sides/characters.
- Actually, the New Mandalorian policies in the preceding years are probably a large influence in the development of the extremism of Kyr’tsad. (Canon—wtf, I might be tempted to terrorism if my government unilaterally exiled large fractions of the population?)
- During the clone wars, Kyr’tsad still allies with Dooku and the Sith. The civil war, which had been on a slow simmer, boils over again. In the fighting, Satine is assassinated. Obi-Wan is not only the best but practically the only option to succeed her and keep the precarious alliance of New Mandalorians and moderate traditionalists together.
- It’s a long and a bloody fight against enemies both at home and in the shadows; fought with guns, with diplomacy, with fixing the deep divides in their society, and hunting the shadows fuelling the flames. Obi-Wan proves himself the same military genius and negotiator as he did in canon. He’s decisive, ruthless and compassionate.
- And eventually, he manages to defeat the leader of Kyr’tsad in single combat, wrangle the warring clans to the negotiation table, hunt the Sith, and unite Mandalore. And that’s how the Mandalorian civil wars and the Clone Wars tie together at the end there, and how Obi-Wan emerges from those wars: with united but weakened Mandalore, a dead wife, and a couple of orphaned foundlings. Victorious, but grieving. The erin on his armour long since painted over with black and gold (which he has earned many times over now, avenging his wife and his people). While the rest of the galaxy is reeling from the aftermath of the war, the republic shaken to its foundations, the separatists defeated but but still seceding, the weakened republic unable to hold onto CIS territories.
- This is the man Marshal Commander Cody meets. This Mand’alor, who seemed to have emerged from the funeral pyre of his wife in the image of the legends of old, reforging the Mandalorian empire anew. But still: just a man, victorious but grieving; with a core of beskar, but a heart so full of light it makes Cody’s teeth ache. Cody: Himself one expendable clone among millions, defying his fate and rising to lead armies to victory or ruin. And yet, a man fresh out of a war that has decimated his brothers and broken his faith in the galaxy.

1. !!!! TELL ME ABOUT PASTRY CHEF CODY !!! Finally he has some peace.
AHHH sorry this took a few days, i was inundated with other WIP's (i'll be answering the other ones soon, too)
@insertmeaningfulusername and @merlyn-bane my darlings, were also interested in this one <3
basically, obi-wan is an exceptionally tired 30yo high school teacher and he begins frequenting a coffee/pastry shop run by cody and rex. ahsoka and anakin are younger adopted siblings (still working out the whole family dynamic). obi-wan gets flustered every time he talks to cody and ahsoka and rex finds it exceedingly hilarious.
this will be a classic strangers to friends to lovers fic and is meant to be fun and wholesome :)
here's a snippet of their meeting ft. gay disaster obi-wan (got a little carried away with it)
“Can I get you anything?”
Obi-Wan is vaguely aware of a voice speaking to him from the counter, but it’s helplessly bouncing around in his empty skull like a ping-pong ball. Any rational thought he had has been sucked out the airlock of his mouth as he’s cut off mid-sentence once he spots the man just behind the register, leaning over a table as he works.
The first thing that Obi-Wan notices is hands. Bronzed long fingers and structured tendons jumping as they knead a slab of dough and Obi-Wan suddenly wonders why he feels warm in the neck. There’s flour all over the man’s knuckles, up his wrists, dirtying the hem of the black sleeves.
Obi-Wan helplessly watches as the man rolls up his sleeves and grimaces in effort, entirely engrossed with breaking down this piece of dough and, subsequently, Obi-Wan. Rolling up the sleeves would be one thing (and it really is one thing), but there’s miles of black ink swirling around two muscular forearms.
Obi-Wan’s eyes follow the arms up to find broad shoulders and a face with smooth skin, a handsome nose, a jagged scar, and fuck, those eyes.
He’s just dropped his gaze to the man’s lips when he realizes, far too late, that they've moved.
A sharp elbow jabs into his side and he looks down at the perpetrator.
“What do you want?” Ahsoka asks him with an edge of teenaged irritation in her voice, but her eyes are slightly widened in concern.
Right. He’s supposed to order something.
Something that’s not the devastatingly beautiful man with devastatingly beautiful hands.
Still struggling to get his thoughts into order and feeling an awful blush overtake his pale skin, Obi-Wan stutters.
“Uh..”
“He wants a cup of earl grey and...,” Ahsoka trails off for a moment, scanning the pastry case, “A cinnamon roll.”
Obi-Wan would snort if he still weren’t so flustered and working on averting his gaze from the men behind the counter. The cinnamon roll is, in fact, not for him and entirely for her.
He finally looks up from the way he was burning a hole into the wooden counter and meets the eyes of the man working the register. This one is similarly pretty, though with blonde hair buzzed short and bare arms. Obi-Wan sends a silent thank you for the lack of tattoos, or else he’d be embarrassing himself all over again.
“It’ll be $7.36,” the man tells him and fuck if that isn’t an accent.
Obi-Wan begins to pull his wallet out of his pocket and distantly hopes the one behind the counter doesn’t have the same one because then Obi-Wan is sure he’d-
“Just charge ‘em for the tea, Rex. I don’t know how good the new recipe is for the roll,” the man at the table pipes up behind- Rex- with, indeed, the same accent and a deep, raspy voice. Obi-Wan promptly drops his wallet.
He curses under his breath and swoops down to grab it, feeling the redness on his skin take on a new, fiery shade. Obi-Wan opens the worn brown leather wallet and pulls out his debit card, thrusting it forward to Rex at a speed that’s certainly not normal.
“It’s alright, I can pay for it,” Obi-Wan clears his throat when his voice comes out weak.
Rex looks at him with a slight furrow to his brows, then he turns around to look at the other man. Obi-Wan follows his gaze and when he locks eyes with the pastry chef (what shade of brown is that and why does Obi-Wan want to bathe in it?), he swallows again.
“Really, it’s ok. These ones are for testing,” the man replies, offering a warm smile. Obi-Wan can’t stop from dropping his eyes to the soft-looking lips as the man shifts his gaze from Obi-Wan to Ahsoka, “As long as you tell me what’s wrong with it, yeah? I have a feeling you’re a professional.”
Obi-Wan turns to look at her and he’s half-shocked when her signature pubescent scowl is replaced with a genuine smile that she usually reserves for Obi-Wan or Anakin.
“I will,” Ahsoka nods and bounces on her heels.
Obi-Wan fondly smiles at her and resists the urge to ruffle the top of her hair (last time he did that, he received a bite mark on his hand that took a week to heal).
Rex clears his throat and says with a polite smile, “Alright, Cody says it’s $3.25, then.”
Cody. CodyCodyCody.
Obi-Wan hands him his card and darts his eyes to Cody just behind Rex’s shoulders.
“Thank you, Cody,” Obi-Wan says with a small smile, trying the name out on his tongue.
Cody gives him another dazzling grin that makes Obi-Wan’s stomach flip before he goes back to aggressively kneading the dough. Obi-Wan feels his mouth dry up again as he takes his card and receipt from Rex, allowing Ahsoka to not-so-lightly shove him away from the counter and towards a table.
"What is wrong with you?" Ahsoka mutters under her breath as she herds him into a chair.
Obi-Wan sets his bag on the table and helplessly looks over his shoulder to watch Cody begin separating the dough into chunks.
"A lot, I think."
