People don't talk about this scene enough, so I am going to.

Merlin fans tend to talk about the ending of the show, offering alternative endings which are interesting and exciting. However, I feel that not enough people appreciate those small scenes in Merlin that make all the difference.

This is a moment from the secret sharer (that one episode with our bestie Alator). The LIGHTING in this scene is phenomenal. The props and set design? Stunning. The camera angles? Beautiful. The way Colin Morgan is sat so that the light from the window hits his face at the perfect angle? Amazing.

There is so much thought and care in everything in this show, and don't even get me started on the music! The soundtrack is SO GOOD!! I understand the importance of major scenes and why they are talked about so much, but honestly it's the small moments that really make the show what it is for me.

Do you ever stop and think about how lonely must Arthur have felt before meeting Merlin?

He had no one he could really call friend for years and then BAM one day he meets this strange, cocky, peasant boy who just calls him names regardless of his rank and like in just one day he gains a loyal servant, a best friend, a soulmate, the other side of his coin, his savior, his first true supporter and the love of his life.

Damn, the love he must feel for Merlin.

I haven't seen a post where someone talks about this scene so far . The way Arthur is helplessly looking at Merlin here , Gwen is right by his side , Giuse is right in front of him but he's looking at Merlin , he's looking at him for comfort , someone who he can open up to more easily than anyone else even if he jokingly said otherwise . He asked if Merlin would save his father by Magic & Merlin said he would do whatever it takes to save his father , he trusted magic because Merlin understood how he felt & it felt like Arthur was looking for someone who shared this burden with & at that moment Merlin was the one .
