Hey here is a page from the Lil Niña Isa children's book. My wife and I created this book for our daughter so that she can see someone like her in the many books we own. In the book Isa is a multiracial and bilingual little girl showing children the differences in her family. This page shows the many different skin tones of the people Isa loves. Almost done illustrating all the pages this has been such a wonderful struggle.

When I heard about the story the first thing that came to mind was damn who thought it was okay? If you are out of the loop H&M has an ad with a young black boy. He has a green hoodie that says "Coolest monkey in the jungle." Now that word has been used countless times to belittle a black person and many of us are offended it was used in such away. Hey guys wanted to up date you on how our children's book is coming. It's been real fun working on it with my wife and it's almost complete. The book stars a little girl named Lil Nina Isa. Isa is special because she is "mixed". The book follows her as she talks about the differences that make her unique. Being mixed raced many kids have a big issue with who they identify most with. Looking for acceptance is often met with more confusion as they are often "not good enough" for either side. This book showcases how good it is to Sometimes be apart of one culture and Sometimes be apart of the other because you are greater than the sum of your parts. That's a picture of my best boy Kodak. This is gonna be a hard post but I feel its important for people to understand my motivations. . So if you have been following me for the past 2 weeks you would know I'm giving a portion of my comission work to Hi Tor Animal Care Center for all commissions in the month of Jan. Reason being is in August of 2017 things got so rough that I had to surrender one of my best friends because I was unable to afford our living conditions any longer. My family was going to have to be homeless and no one was able to take him in untill we got a place to live. It broke my wife and I hearts to have to let him go. I tried my best to keep a roof but due to my being sick with no insurance I was bankrupt. They took him in and found a home very fast even called us to notify us that he was okay. We had him as part of our family since he was 9 weeks old. I hated to admit how much he became a part of my heart now I wish he was here so I could tell him everyday. We are still hopping between family but as 2018 rolls around and Color My Flaws does better my spirit feels better. I hope that you can help me help them because I owe them so much. #colormyflaws #missyoukodak
