(May 12, 2023) We are raising money for a crowd funded research project investigating the cause of blueberry hermit crabs in Okinawa, Japan using trash found on the beach as “homes” instead of natural shells. These hermit crabs are endemic to the southern islands of Japan, and they act as coastal environmental engineers. They are endangered on several islands, and we want to try and understand why they are resorting to beach trash for shells. Please consider sharing this post and donating to the project. We suspect that areas with high rates of tourism lead to beach combers collecting natural shells leaving nothing for the hermit crabs to use. It’s possible that overfishing of turbo snails which would naturally provide shells for the crabs may also be a factor. We will survey many sites across several islands in Okinawa to try and determine a cause of this behavior. 

We will be working closely with national geographic photographer Shawn Miller (photo credits above) and several researchers in Japan. Additionally, we will complete extensive beach clean ups in the areas we study. Thank you so much for reading!

Individuals will often stalk octopus dens for discarded leftover bits of bivalves and crustaceans. It is a synchronous hermaphrodite, which means they possess male and female gonads at the same time!

You guys understand that as fans you also don't want Käärijä to go bankrupt right? It's in your interest that he makes money. Making a new album costs money, touring costs money, a fuckton of money, he has bills to pay, and his team should be paid their salaries. If his business isn't profitable, he will not be able to carry on his career like has has been doing so far.

Making music your full time job requires profits, so it is only sensible for him to consider how much money will be earned, and if something isn't profitable but in fact a zero sum game, he has the right to refuse to work ""for free"". Artists are workers as well, their efforts should be compensated.

If he goes bankrupt, it's no more Käärijä.

starscream binge eats until hes absolutely stuffed, hes always too hasty. id say a more belly-heavy look for him but idk. unrelated what bots smoke weed. my underdog pick is wheeljack for general vibes and pain management.

Star/scream totally does. He's the SiC, the backbone, the smart one, he absolutely believes he deserves all that rich, creamy, filling fuel more than Mega/tron. Of course, he doesn't realize how much he took until he tries to fly and falls back down to the ground, fat jiggling and gurgling. He's totally belly heavy, only a tiny fraction going to his thighs and chest.

Also for the weed smoking, my top three are Beach/comber from any continuity, Wheel/jack (TF/P, G/1) and finally between Tra/cks, Hou/nd, and Ja/zz from G/1 (+ Bay/verse for Ja/zz.)
