#coming soon on your screens kit pt4
The You I Love The Best, pt4
“Who the fuck even uses swords anymore?” You complained, clutching your side and hanging off Natasha as you both ran toward the quinjet. “I thought guns made the goddamn things obsolete?”
“Well, your gun made him obsolete,” Nat laughed. “Too bad you couldn’t have obsoleted him before he stabbed you.”
She laid you down in the med gurney and opened the first aid kit. “Okay, lemme see,” she demanded. You pulled back your hand slowly and Natasha hissed out a curse in Russian before pressing a large white dressing against the wound. “How soon until we get wheels up, Rogers?”
“Working on it,” Steve replied. “Tony will have to catch up. Do you need me back there?”
“Get us in the air and then I’ll trade you. You’ll need to put an IV in her, she’s pretty pale,” Natasha responded. Steve had taken on the role of medic when Bruce had vanished after Ultron.
“And give her the good drugs, she’s in a lot of pain and speaking in the third person,” you added. Steve looked back a you and furrowed his brow.
“Keep the pressure on, Y/N,” Natasha got up to trade spots with Steve. Steve knelt beside you and started pulling supplies out of the bag. He bit his lip and rubbed the back of your hand with his thumb, looking for a vein.
“Little pinch,” he warned just as he poked the needle in. The pain in your side was enough that you didn’t notice it until you felt the cool rush of the pain med he injected. “That should take effect in a few minutes. Then I’ll take a better look at that wound.”
“He stabbed me with a sword, Steve,” you complained. “That’s not nice at all.”
Steve let out a soft laugh and changes his gloves before bracing you hand and lifting the dressing. He poked at it a little causing you to flinch. “It doesn’t look like anything important was hit. I’m going to suture you up, okay?”
You reached up and cupped his cheek, smoothing the furrow in his brow with your thumb. “Stop fussing, I’m fine. I’ve got you taking care of me.”
“Yeah, no pressure,” he laughed, digging in the kit for more supplies.
“I get why people think nurses are sexy,” you mumbled, not realizing the narcotics were inhibiting your self-censoring abilities.
“Why is that?” He looked genuinely confused.
“Well, there’s this really beautiful guy kneeling beside me, taking care of me, making the bad go away,” you explained. “Hard not to have illicit fantasies about him making me feel good, really.”
Steve’s cheeks flushed a little and he went back to preparing the suture kit.
“You’re giddy from blood loss,” he dismissed.
“Nope,” you replied, popping your p. “I’d bang you like a screen door in a hurricane, even on my best day.”
You hear Nat cackle in the distance and reached up to touch Steve again. “Oh, shit. You are real, aren’t you? I shouldn’t have said that.”
“You’re not the first woman to sexually objectify me, Y/N,” he laughed awkwardly.
“If I’m lucky, maybe I’ll be the last,” you tried to wiggle your eyebrows suggestively. He cracked up.
“You’re stoned, you’re weak from blood loss and you’re still one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever laid eyes on,” he replied. “I wish you were this easy to talk to when you were sober.”
“I wish you would kiss me,” you shrugged. “But instead I got stabbed with a fucking sword.”
“Oh, Y/N, you are going to regret speaking when you really come around,” Natasha called from the cockpit.
“Why? I can always lie and say I don’t remember,” you laughed. You dropped you hand back to your side and realized you’d wiped blood onto Steve. “Sorry, Cap. Seems I bled on you. Maybe later we can take a shower and I can scrub you clean.”
Steve’s eyes widened just a bit. “I’m going to need to focus for a minute on these sutures, sweetheart,” he deflected. “But first a little freezing and some more pain control.”
As he was injecting the wound perimeter with lidocaine, your eyes began to droop and feel heavy. “I’m going to take a nap, okay?”
His head snapped up and you realized you were seeing two of him. “I thought two of you would be a blessing but I can’t decide which of you I Love the most.”
“Nat, she’s crashing. How long do we -“ everything went dark as you lost consciousness.
