i'm getting increasingly annoyed by all these you are not immune to propaganda posts and i can't quite place why so pardon me whilst i rant in the tags to work it out
#might just be me but i think there is a big difference between marketing and propaganda#company trying to make you forget x shitty thing they did through campaigns? propaganda#companies making sassy twitter accounts to build traction for their brand? marketing#not once has wendys twitter made me want to eat there#but i know it exists now because of it#like#that's not a bad thing#marketing that lets ppl know 'hey we exist' isn't a bad thing and there are different ways to do that#nintendos brand is family friendly and encourages the concept of a Nintendo family#that's marketing#they are a games company they want people to buy their games#the people who work there aren't evil#they're just a bunch of guys making video games#with a bunch of people helping them sell the games they're making#that's not evil#whereas amazons smile campaign is absolutely propaganda#its great that they're giving to charity and if I'm gonna use amazon I'm gonna use it through that campaign#however they're using it to cover up how poorly they treat their workers#that's manipulation that's what ppl should be aware of#yall don't have to keep reminding ppl that marketing is made to sell products! we all know that!#trying to sell products isn't a bad thing!!!!!#capitalism sucks but that's the world we live in so unless that changes let people market so they can live!#nyells
