Hey bee! I’m sure you’ve gotten this ask before, sorry, but I am leaving the dream fandom due to being very uncomfy supporting him re:the recent situation. I’m planning on focusing on the other side of Minecraft YouTube for now and was wondering if you had blog recs for third/last life and hermitcraft?

hey! welcome to the hermitcraft fandom! we're a cool place to hang out i think personally. uh, be warned that i'm often bad at recs because i have the memory of a squirrel, so if there isn't someone on here that isn't because we aren't friends/aren't cool mutuals/i don't like them, it's because i am naming the first people i think of, which is not always people in a sensible order. also i tried to stick to hermitcraft guys more than traffic or empires guys here because i did not realize you said third/last/double life when i first read this ask WHOOPS.

also i saw the other list i was tagged in by @griancraft, i am EXTREMELY flattered, that list is here, and i have tried not to put any names that are repeats from there. i am vouching in general for a lot of the people on there though.

ALSO also before we get into the names: GO FIND YOUR OWN FRIENDS! one of the ways i do this personally is that i just... browse through the hermitcraft tag occasionally and stick a bunch of stuff in my queue and if i see a person crop up a lot i follow them because clearly i like what they're doing! sometimes also when i was a smaller blog if someone showed up in my notes a lot i'd also show up! uh, just in general, find other 'smaller' guys too! i have, as i said, tried to stick to people i thought you weren't already going to be following, but let it be known that i have no sense of scale anymore so i don't know who is considered "big" or not on here the scale may be WILDLY out of proportion. FIND YOUR OWN PEOPLE it's very fun to find people yes yes.

@dmwrites and/or @simplydm (her main) does very cool writing. i am a big fan of all of her ficlets. if you are following me for the writing let me direct you that way to ALSO get a lot of good ficlets.

speaking of other cool writers in the fandom. @mawofthemagnetar writes eldritch horror keralis and a bunch of other fics that are cool. also one of the people on my dash who is an xb understander, you know?

@fluffy-papaya and @betweenlands wrote dog at the door and a bunch of other stuff i like (plus fluffy's art is very cute). also i know solar and solar is cool... albeit. mostly not a hermitcraft blog at this point. but still. deserves to go here, be wary they will get you into a minecrafter you've never heard of. i still need to watch secret rivals. soon,

also on the cool writer list is @sixteenth-days, who writes hermit archives and also a bunch of other cool things!

@redwinterroses is someone i originally followed from more of the traffic side of the fandom but i recommend following her, she's pretty chill.

someone who i like a lot as both an artist AND a writer is @silverskye13. still need to catch up with monsters splitting hairs, love the artstyle, all their hels takes are good.

another cool artist and writer is @kiwinatorwaffles, lots of good xisuma, evil x, zedaph stuff over here from what i've seen.

@quaranmine runs the absolutely necessary @mcyt-cats blog. has the watcher grian takes i tend to actually trust, haha. she's pretty cool as far as general hc/mcyt blogs go.

@luigra does REALLY cute art i love the colors she uses and her style it always makes me feel soft and happy. also, of course, a fellow joe hills enthusiast. always important, us joeguys stick together like this.

speaking of fellow joeguys. @12u3ie probably knows more about joe than me. has been around here longer. fellow joeguys represent.

one last joeguy. hi @concorp. e does cool art and has a lot of good general hermitcraft stuff going on. also, as mentioned: fellow joeguy. also they do @badlydrawnhermitcraft and have been a guest on joe's show before!

@shadeswift99 feels like a pillar of the community to me. they run the @hermitcraftheadcanons blog, if you haven't been there before. they also do writing good and tend to know a lot of people who have been around a while. cool person.

i like @closet-thing's art a lot. tends to be somewhat horror-focused if that isn't your thing but if you, like me, DO like horror stuff, then you're in for a treat.

i am also a big fan of @jestroer's art. it has a very... i don't know the word for it but the style is very distinct and i like it. fluffy? if that's a bad word for it. i am sorry. i don't know how to describe art. anyway recommend.

@bdoubleowo is a good general mcyt blog! she does very nice art as well. the sexy fish animatic is scott smajor approved, you know.

uhhhh last one for now @girltimeswithscar has such good character designs. i am in love with how they draw skizzleman. also their mumbo. also their bdubs. also just their takes about bdubs in general. bdubs takes good.

as i said before... if a name isn't on this list it's because i don't have object permanence if you are not in front of me RIGHT NOW i do not remember you are there. i have MANY OTHER COOL MUTUALS AND BLOGS I'M FOLLOWING AND BUDDIES AND STUFF, and THERE ARE MANY BLOGS THAT ARE COOL. i always find it so interesting to find out which project or episode or bit epitomises every hermit to other people. like the deep field pinball machine (season 9) is the Joe Hills-iest Joe Hills project to me, and Tortuga (season 6) is the most Cleo.

Stress waved Jevin inside. "Is that everybody who's coming?"

"I think so, yeah."

Stress led Jevin to a sizable room deeper in her castle, decorated heavily with purple glass and allium flowers, where Xisuma and Joe waited and Doc paced.

"This must be everyone," Doc agreed anxiously. "Whatever's killing us even took down Falsie with barely a fight! How many of us could possibly have gotten away?"

"There are a few hermits who didn't feel the need to come here for security," Joe replied. "Tango and Cleo, of course - Jevin, I'm surprised you dropped by, although of course there's nothing wrong with that - and then Zedaph, TFC, and Iskall have all found safety in their own homes."

"I fink Iskall's comin' here, actually," Stress corrected.

Joe perked up. "Oh that's fantastic, then! Hopefully he makes it here with all his blood where it's supposed to be."

"Yeah," Stress answered absently, poking through some chests. "Better 'ere than goin' for somebody else, that way I can deal wiv 'im."

"Wait," Xisuma realized. "You said deal with him?"

They were interrupted by an angry hissing near the door - not the single rush of air of a creeper, but something harsher, somehow both more human and completely inhuman.

"That'll be 'im, then. Ah!" Stress finally found what she was looking for: a wooden sword. "Right, I'm going out there."

Jevin eyed Stress's choice of weapon skeptically. "Do you... want some backup?"

Stress unfastened her allium flower crown and looped it around her neck. "I got a handle on this, fanks! You can come along if you want, though, seein' as I don't fink 'e'll go for you. Here, hold this."

Jevin took the allium offered to him. "Uh. Okay."

Stress strode out to the entrance of her castle. There, the two of them saw... Iskall.

He stood at the doorway, not approaching further. His right eye was red, and there was a reddish glow behind the diamond in his left. As Stress came closer, Iskall bared sharp fangs.

"Iskall is a vampire??" Jevin blurted.

"Yep." Stress walked right up to him. Iskall made a motion as if to lunge, but halted some distance from her neck. Stress rolled up her sleeves, showing off another allium tied around her right wrist like a bracelet... then plunged the wooden sword directly into Iskall's heart.

Iskall let out another hiss as he vanished. Stress breathed a sigh of relief and returned her allium necklace to her head with a pin. "An' that's that. I hate to do it, but sometimes 'e just gets like that."

"What." Jevin stared, dumbfounded. "What just happened. What about the other hermits?"

"Oh, now that the vampire what drained 'em is dead, everyone will have the chance to respawn normally," Stress explained. "Includin' Iskall himself. 'E'll feel kinda hungover an' probably really guilty, but 'e'll be actin' normal again for a while."

"How did you know that... any of this would work?"

Stress laughed. "Are you kidding me? Wiv how long I've known Iskall? This ain't the first time this has happened. It's 'alf the reason I keep so many alliums around, besides the fact that they're pretty. Gotta be careful when you're neighborin' a vampire!"

Hermitcraft Headcanons

- Doc and take his robot arm fully apart and if you hit any joint on the arm it will go limp for about a hour

- Ren is lowkey colour blind (like a dog), but those funky sunglasses he now has corrects that!

- Joe’s glasses? He does need them to see obviously, but ontop of that he’s done what some of the other techy hermits have done and, his glasses now display the chat without him having to look at a communicator.

- Evil X cannot properly breath without his helmet. Fortunately he has a cut down version that is more of a mask then a helmet.

- I know this is a well used concept but,, Grian? That dude has actual wings,, but he gained then upon joining Hermitcraft,, as you might of guessed he’s eaten dirt more then once.

- Iskall along with stress can’t feel the cold to the same degree as other hermits. This isn’t a problem for stress who just naturally adapts with the cold, but iskall on the other hand tends to lock up get stiff which is as you can guess,, really bad.

- Joe knows necromancy,, no I’m not going to elaborate.

- X seriously needs a hairbrush, that man hardly ever takes off his helmet and his hair is now long and the helmet hair has gotten out of hand,, send him help.

- Cub and Scar tend to have fairly fuzzy memories when it comes to anything vex, but they DO both know one thing. If the vex wanted them dead or hurt to seriously them, it would’ve happened a long time ago.

- Jellie isn’t a cat

- 99% of hermits need a intervention when building big projects because nobody there knows how to stop™️

- Tfc? That man is literally under your feet. You cant see him but his bunker spreads the entirety of the island, but you can’t necessarily see that while inside of it

A third of them would try to build up really elaborate bases, another third would just try to attack the others as soon as the game starts, and the final third would probably accidentally fall into the void while trying to bridge between islands

I might've asked this before, but how did you come up with everyone's species/powers??

You have not asked this before and I welcome this question!

Initially, I took a look at what the Hermits say they are/what they look like on the server

So that's how Creeper Hybrid Doc, Attempted Flesh Construct Cleo, and Slime Hybrid Jevin immediately come to mind

Then I looked at popular headcanons in the fandom and went "Okay what does the fanbase like? What do I like that they like?"

Which is how we got people like Parrot/Watcher Grian, Vampire Mumbo, Werewolf Ren, Nature Spirit Gem, and Voidwalkers X & Ex

Then I went in farther and went "Okay what are the vibes that these guys personally give me?"

That's how I ended up with God of Inspiration Joe, Shadow Cryptid Etho, Demon Impulse (this was before there was that huge wave of fans making Impulse a Demon btw), and Siren Hypno.

Keralis has always vibed to me as a human but why have people insist on looking into his eyes all the time? What's so special about that? And I'm always weak for empathic bonds whether temporary or permanent. So that's how that happened.

TFC surprisingly gave me very little trouble when it came to figuring him out. I knew he was the oldest person on the Hermitcraft server and I had heard the now infamous "Philza made Minecraft" joke by this time. So I just patted TFC gently and said "This Minecraft Grandpa can hold so much love inside him!" and made him a God too lol

After that I sort of blended other people's takes with my own for everyone else.

Like I love how people make Tango have Nether Origins, but I see him being made a Blaze so much it's kinda boring to me. But a Magma Cube? Now that's cool!

Or like how after I read a series on AO3 called The Meteor Effect where a magic meteor causes the Hermits to physically change forms/give them powers, I ended up hooked on Phantom Hybrid Bdubs and Dragon Hybrid Wels. So I gave them my own little twists and boop! There ya go!

I had to do a bit of research but I pretty quickly found out ConVex/ConCorp, and all the related Vex shenanigans. But Scar and Cub don't look like Vex all the time, in fact they wear masks to show when they are Vex. So if they aren't Vex completely what are they? Well maybe they're Changelings, half-human and half-fae and they'll become full Vex when they permadie.

Sheep Hybrid Zed is a pretty popular headcanon, but I then went "Huh. What if that's just like... a suit that Zed wears?" And since Zed is one of the crazy redstone guys of the server, I figured making him a Gremlin that powers/controls a robot body would be fun!

Iskall & False were also mostly gathered from fanbase ideas that I then added my own spin on later. Like Iskall being a bit more cybernetic than the fandom usually makes him and False having the Blessing of the Blood God.

You did ask me before about how I came up with Cryptid Beef and here's a bit of extra knowledge to add to that.

So as previously explained, I had already had the idea of Beef eventually transforming into a Cryptid because of his physical changes in S8, but no thoughts on what the end result would look like beyond the Prawn from District 9 which was his original intent.

Then I saw the mantis that Doc made in s8 and my insect loving heart went 😍 AWOOOGAAAA! 😍 over it and I knew what I had to do.

I had to make Beef that Mantis.

But why would he change into a Mantis specifically? Well I already had it that being around Cryptids for too long kinda makes you a bit... not quite human yourself. So obviously Moon Big messed with him and triggered him to change into a Mantis. And that, in combination with me loving alliterative names, made them Moon Mantises.

And yeah that's sort of how my thought processes go

Hermitcraft Stardew Valley Au

some background under da break 

-Background- -Concorp is the Joja of this AU -Most people have lived in hermit town most of their lives -The hermits are just one big happy family :,) -Most hermits are based off characters in the game but moved around to suit them more!

-Characters-

Mumbo -Local electrician -Extremely shy at first -As you get to know him he opens up and you see his giddy side!! -spent sometime in the city to try and make a name for himself,,, which didn’t really go to plan,, Relationships -Grian (best friends, when they’re not working they like to explore the woods!!He knows it’s one of grians favourite things to do and doesn’t want to let him go into the woods by himself, who knows what’s out there!) -Iskall (friend, helps mumbo when he’s experimenting with new circuits) -Xisuma (childhood friends, X is the one who convinced mumbo to move back from the city to the valley)

Grian -Works part time in concorp -Only recently moved to the valley to get away from his past in the city -Is friendly to everyone but only considers a few people his good friends, has some trust issues -loves exploring the valley, he likes the difference from the busy city life Relationships -Mumbo (best friends, had known mumbo from his short time in the city, when he moved to the valley he felt mumbo was the only one he could trust) -Iskall (friend, mumbo has introduced the two, immediately got along as if they’d known each other their whole lives) -Scar (met the wizard on one of his adventures in the woods and kept pestering him until the wizard finally broke and showed him some magic)

Iskall -owns the general store, Sahara (calls it his mega store of doom) -knows all the towns gossip from “overhearing” conversations on his shop -everyone considers him the heart of the town, he can put anyone in a good mood with that contagious laugh!! -Doesn’t like concorp... wants to get grian to work for him instead to get him outa that corporate chain!! Relationships -Stress (Best friends, whenever they’re together they light up the room with laughter and good times B^) Iskall likes to visit her ranch and see the animals) -Mumbo (admires mumbo for his amazing wiring skills, a little jealous of mumbo, he gets to have the job iskall always wanted, but he won’t let that get in the way of their friendship) -Grian (from the minute grian moved into the valley iskall knew he wanted to befriend him, his gut told him he wouldn’t want to be on grians bad side) -Ren (used to be really close but drifted overtime)

Stress -Owns the ranch -mostly produces dairy products but has some chickens too -she doesn’t like being on her own, so she likes to surround herself with friends as much as she can Relationships -Iskall (best friends) -Doc (roommates, she’s renting out a spare room to Doc, she can see past his icy cold exterior and knows that deep down he does care about his friends) -Cleo and False (being so few girls in the valley they all stick together, they meet up at the end of each week to gossip about the boys)

Doc -Works full time at Concorp, absolutely hates it -was studying to be a scientist in the city, but when and experiment went wrong causing him to lose an arm he lost all motivation -he wanted an escape from the shame the city brought him and seeked a new life in the valley -renting a room from stress but is rarely there, most of his days start at work then bring him to the saloon -he wants more from life but doesn’t know where to start relationships -Ren (Best friends, they always crossed paths in the mornings until eventually doc decided to introduce himself, the two hit it off and now see the other a brother) -Stress (Roommates, get on better than you’d expect! doc admires her strength and power too pull through the hard times and come out on the better side) -Beef (Friends, when you spend most of your days in the saloon you get to know the bartender pretty well lol) -Etho and False (he loves hearing their story’s from the mines, he’d love to join in but is too scared to put himself into danger considering what happens last time he tried something risky)

Ren -Aspiring actor, he likes to write short story’s and get his friends to act them out with him -Twin brothers with renbob -He’s a bit full of himself but aren’t all actors ;) -but all of his talk of making it big time in the city someday he is front, behind all the boasting is a lot of doubt in his skills and as he gets older the more he puts off moving to the city to start his career Relationships -Doc ( Best friends, doc is the only one rens ever shared his worry’s with, but doc always supports his acting career and encourages him to take that leap and follow his dreams) -Renbob (twin brother although they couldn’t be more opposite, ren loves city life, keeping up on trends and success while renbob is all about being one with nature and doesn’t care about his appearance or how people see him -Iskall (used to be really close but drifted overtime)

Renbob -Works in the saloon with Beef -all about that hippie life -not really a major character but he’s there!! :D relationships -Ren (twin brother) -Beef (Boss, but they get along great)

Bdubs -Carpenter!! need a house built?? you’ve come to the right guy -very bubbly and eXTREMELY outgoing -has a very strict sleep schedule which leads to strict working hours to ensure all his works done for the day -when he first moved to the valley he set out on building a huge house with lots of spare rooms to have guests over or to rent out Relationships -Cub (Roommate, cubs renting out a room to do research on the local flora and fauna, they won’t really talk much but bdubs admires his brains) -Keralis -Etho ( Ethos guilds club house is near to his home and since they were so near each other they became good friends)

Etho -Owns the miners guild -expert at monster fighting, he has the highest number of kills in the whole guild! (there’s only one other member... but let him have this!!) -keeps to himself most of the time but wishes he was closer to more people Relationships -False (guild mates, he admires falses skill with a sword, he thought her everything she knows) -Bdubs (he kept starting conversations whenever etho saw him so they become good friends, it took etho a while to get used to his bubbly personality) -Beef (they have a mutual respect from etho being a regular at the saloon after a day of fighting in the mines) -Doc (they aren’t that close but doc likes to listen to his story’s from the mines)

Beef -Owns the saloon -a jolly guy who’s friends with just about everyone, he knows his regulars more than some people who’d only be at the saloon after a long day -an amazing cook, prepares all the meals by himself Relationships -Etho -Doc -Renbob (employee)

Scar -the wizard who lives deep in the woods -extremely isolated but longs for more friends but he knows it’s a dangerous idea considering how his last friendship turned out -spends most of his days brewing up be potions or researching new spells Relationships -Grian (tried to keep his distance but grian kept pushing to learn some magic, scar gave in and thought him a transportation spell) -Cub (former friend, scar had to remove cub from his life when he was using him for research)

Cub -A scientist from the city researching what the valley has to offer -reports back to concorp unbeknownst to the others -knows what he’s doing is wrong... :( and wants to change but doesn’t know where to start Relationships -Scar (former friend, when scar found out what cub was up to he banished him from his tower, cub feels awful and wants to fix this) -Bdubs (roommate, renting a room from him in the mountains)

Zombie Apocalypse AU Masterpost 2 Electric Boogaloo

-Bdubs is slowly going feral because he has the virus, it just doesn't show itself physically.

-Cub was tempted to purposefully get the virus to try and help find a cure, (they probably don't have lab rats given the circumstances,) by Scar talked him out of it.

-The timeline of events with DocM is that he started in the NHO group, they ended up dispersing (Etho turned and then left to ensure the safety of his friends, Beef ended up going separate due to Doc and Bdubs' constant fighting and Bdubs stormed off after an argument.) He ends up getting taken in by TFC, (he's the first to arrive,) and eventually captures Rendog.

-Stressmonster and Iskall originally lived in a cabin in the mountains. After Iskall got swept away in a snow storm and Joe and Cleo stopped by, Stress had no idea there was a Zombie outbreak.

-Hypnotizd and XB ended up trespassing in Jevin's property and Jevin shot Hypno. XB pleaded to Jevin that they weren't zombies and to not hurt them further and Jevin begrudgingly went, 'okay, fine. You aren't taking my food though.'

-Impulse's weapon of choice was a shovel.

-Grian can't fly in this AU. Let's be real, if he could, it would be pretty OP.

-Keralis most definetly gave a larger share of his rations to Xisuma while he was sick.

-TangoTek entirely blames himself for Impulse leaving and Zedaph getting bit. He feels especially conflicted because he wants to leave because he's convinced they both hate him and blame him but he can't because 'what if they go looking for him?' 'What if someone worse comes from that?'

-The location of Etho's bite is right on the front of the neck. He actually passed out from blood loss initially and he very nearly died. (Luckily for him the zombie didn't pull away, ripping out anything important (like a windpipe of an oesophagus,) giving Doc time to carefully unhinge the zombie's jaw and save Etho.) Nobody was quite sure how Etho was even alive with a big chunk out of his neck until he started displaying some strange behaviour.

-False is usually the one who stays up late to stand guard and protect her group.

-Mumbo accidentally caught Hypno in one of his traps at one point but let him go.

-Hay here’s a dumb idea, The reason ren is immune to the zombie virus is because he has like an anti-zombie virus in his body it behaves just like a normal zombie virus but it doesn’t turn you into a zombie, so how the hermits turn the zombie hermits human again is by making ren bite them.

-I have an angst ending and a no-angst ending so first here's the not-angst one: Doc and Ren team up with Cub and Scar to make a cure (so Ren doesn't have to bite everyone personally). They travel around finding every bitten survivor and salvageable zombie they can, using the weapons and resources from the NHO for protection. They find ways of producing and distributing enough cure for everyone, and during that process all of the Hermits decide to stay friends and in touch afterward.

-For the Zombie AU, if Scar doesn't already have like a different role in this au, he could've possibly been the first human infected because *someone's* pet cat ate a weird looking mouse and bit their owner.

-This is very angsty and gory, so fair warning: How fast does the virus spread through the body from the bite? If slow, you can cut the bitten part off before it spreads out through the body. To doc having a robot arm, what if he got bit and out of fear, they amputated his arm to stop the spread. I know y'all probably don't wanna go with body horror, but that's something to consider in this AU.

-Lowkey I feel zombie Etho doesnt do justice to his epic PVP skillz, but!! I do see Etho to be something SIMILAR to it! Idk if you've ever played Telltale's The Walking Dead game, but Etho could a zombie whisperer, a human who wears zombie skin and lives amongst the zombies for protection. So when Etho got bit, they THOUGHt he turned but actually just decided, hey I live here now and just vibin.

-You know how ren being a werewolf is popular in the fandom(from what I've seen) maybe that's why is immune to being a zombie and getting bitten by him if your infected cures it because the zombie infection and werewolf infection cancel eachother out.

-A more jokey Zombie!Au thing: The first episode of Llamas with hats but it's Zombie!Etho and Beef.

-I feel like if Wels could get to some of his friends he would try his hardest to protect them and if he ever managed to get bit it would be to save someone else.

-There is just always so much angst potential in any scenario or AU where it involves the possibility of Wels sacrificing himself in some way to protect his friends from something poor bb 😔

-Would infected hermits be able to like recognize people after the infection zombified them or whatever it is? Because if so oh my god imagine the angst.

-About the anti-zombie Ren bite thing: Doc has the idea suddenly in the middle of an argument so the conversation goes a little like this:

Ren: "So what I'm trying to say, my dude, is that would never work because -"

Doc: "Ren. Bite me."

Ren: "Oh yeah, real mature way to end a disagreement there -"

Doc: *facepalming* "No, Ren, I mean actually.... Just do it, I'll explain later."

-Angst ending: They could never produce enough cure to stem the tide of undeath. They all choose to band together and take shelter underground, hoping to wait it out. They use X's tunnel, but that many people that close together smells irresistible to a horde. The zombies flood after them into the tunnel. X says he'll buy them some time, even though he is terrified. He collapses the tunnel on himself and the zombies so the others can escape. His last thought: At least I get to die as myself.

-Thinking about Etho's bite location (you said it was on his neck): Most bites are on the shoulder or leg (bit from behind while running away) or on the arm (bit while raised to defend). To be bitten on the neck he would have to have his arms and shoulders lowered. Etho, being a good fighter, would have only done this if it was absolutely necessary. Conclusion: he was bitten with his arms stretched out to protect someone behind him, and he knew the consequence that his choice would have.

-When Etho left The nHo, he brings a Journal with him. Every Night he'll write a Journal entry. He'll write just about anything, there even some random lyrics and some pretty flowers he pick up along his travels. But as the Journal goes on, the words slowly became wobbly. Inconsistent. until finally, Unreadable chicken skrach. His final (at least readable) entry is: "-I hoPE yoU GUyZ ArE DoInG bETThEr ThAn I Am" As some point in time, Etho lost his Journal and Joe hills found it.

-Speaking of Joe Hill, he made it his personal mission to collect every literature and entertament media he can possibly carry on him. From Dnd Book, poetry, Documentary DVD's, to random journal He think would be usefull. Stress is happy to help Joe but Cleo is a little annoyed because it's will only slow them down, but Joe Argued that "If there's no knowledge left, then what will the future be? Just staying alive and surviving?" Cleo begrudgingly agrees.

-I can totally see Joe and Cleo Rocking an actual Sword and Dnd Cosplay (Joe got is a gift while Cleo Commissions her's after seeing Joe whip out his sword one time in a one shot DnD session) they keep the swords, but they ditch the Costume pretty early on tho.

-Mumbo's next Job Interview would be schedule at Concorp. But then the Zombie apocalypse happened on his way there.

-I don’t want this au to end but here’s my take: most of them get to the bunker where they don’t develop a cure, but do create a vaccine. Occasionally they will venture out to hand out the vaccine to survivors. Still, they all decide to stay into stay together. But because they were unable to develop a cure, even though they really try, there are some how have been lost such as etho, zed, and mumbo. Still the rest of them morn and try their best to survive without modern society. (-@lookitsspacekween.)

-Funny/happy ending to the Zombie AU: The hermits set up a zombie funneling system where the ones that didn't die from infection get bit by Ren to get turned back and they return the dead and give them proper burials. (-@my-cat-is-a-bastard.)

I've got one last bit for the zombie au, it ties into my parasite one: With the rumors that the outbreak started in the Convex cancer research facility, and Scar feeling guilt because he Should Have Been Able To Stop This... It really was their fault. As a company. It wasn't intentional, of course, but Convex created the parasite. It was during research into a cure for certain conditions that are notoriously risky/impossible to perform surgery on, like brain tumors or lukemia-type cancer. The hope was to utilize the parasites as something that could harmlessly go in, eat or destroy all the cancerous cells, then die off, leaving a perfectly healthy human. The research project was abandoned after a several years, when every single attempt ended with either dead or, in later years, extremely sickly rats. Although the final round seemed promising, the rats weren't showing obvious signs of a decline in health after two weeks, Convex was convinced to just give it up and that the utilization of parasitic worms was asking for more trouble than it was worth. Plus, PETA was getting dangerous with their choices in protest against the tests, which was the main reason it was called off. Cub and the board of directors didn't want to risk bodily harm to their researchers, and it truly was getting so beyond ridiculous that a few bodyguards weren't enough protection.

Some researchers took some of the test rats home as pets, including our Patient Zero, because they really were quite cute. Patient Zero got bit by his rat, and nobody really thought anything of it for a couple weeks until his behavior took a bad turn. He was picking fights and throwing verbal abuse, and no amount of warnings and write-ups were giving any hint of stopping him. It all finally resulted in him viciously biting fellow labworkers, which sent two of them and himself to the ER. Upon arrival he had to be restrained and isolated lest he bite more people. He was fired from the company, his bodyguards pulled, but Scar had been friends and continued to visit him regularly, wondering where the change had come from, and saddened by his old friend's obvious decline in health. Nurses told him he was refusing to eat or drink, and too violent to reason with nor release to anywhere but the police or psychiatric hospital. Soon, there were more reports of uncharacteristicly aggressive actions from PZ's victims. And from there.... Well, it's your choice where the story goes, but it didn't take long for Scar to put the puzzle together.

Whats the usual routine (joesuma ask) -goodtimeswithships

once a week they go on a weekly expedition to concorp because it's quiet there and loads of places to hide and make out in some secluded area, or maybe just loads of things to explore in there. they'll never tell.

x sends a "good morning" to joe every single day, they don't get to see each other in person but when they do pass by each other there's a quick "how've you been?" and a kiss or two hundred

joe didn't used to do this but after the fourth phantom attack he caved and started sleeping over at x's place, he regularly brings beds everywhere now but he still sleeps at x's place any time he can (pretty much all the time unless Joe's a ways away)

x's and joe's time together is usually spent reminiscing on the past and thinking about all their friends and the future of the server, they agree that everything may change but they'll always love each other

Is edolas Bdubs really soft spoken? What kinda dynamic would the edolas versions of IDEA, Sahara and Concorp be like? Also is there an edolas version of Jellie?

1. Edolas Bdubs is definitely an introvert. He has Aspergers Syndrome actually (I have this so I would know how to write it respectfully) He often doesn’t get a lot of humor that the others too well, and is a bit more sensitive. He has trouble making friends and have people treat him normally, but the Edolas hermits treat him like any other person. They respect him. Make him feel like he belongs. He is actually gifted in art, and music. He and Joe often play harmonies together. He hates yelling.

2. The groups. IDEA. It’s basically a lab group. X is the scientist, Bdubs is his assistant, and Keralis does many of the testing. Sahara, Mumbo being reckless, Grian trying to stop him, and Iskall just pounding his head against the wall in frustration. Concorp. It’s not a business, it’s a charity. ConCares. Cub is the main CEO, and Scar helps with its operations.

3. Edolas Jellie is Scar’s loyal dog. Such a good girl. Give her snoot boops and treats and she’ll love you forever. Tummy rubs are her favorite things.

Also note on Aspergers Syndrome. It’s a form of autism, but not the learning kind. It’s social. Such as not making or keeping friendships as easily, sensitive to some things such as sounds, tone of voice, and loud noises. Not getting humor or sarcasm can also be part of it. This doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing, our brains are just wired differently! So instead of going from A to B, I go from A to C to H

hello um?? ur like the only one im not too anxious to ask rn so sorry if ur not the best person to come to but how do you suggest i start watching n getting into hermitcraft?? and what would i need to know before starting,,

of course anon!! i’m kind of out of the hermitcraft fandom bc of stuff but i defiantly got some tips and tricks to help you out! also sorry i was a bit delayed in answering this, i have no excuse except that i am a lazy bitch.

I’m 1000% suggesting you to start with season 6, since that’s where the fandom is at right now, but, hey, I can’t control you.

At this point, you’re going to be watching at least 30 episodes to get caught up with one of the hermits because of how long season 6 has been going on for. A lot of people would suggest to start at the hermitcraft recap, and while I love the recap to death, it doesn’t seem like a very good way to get into hermitcraft. I’m going to suggest you start with watching and catching up with one of the hermits, and if you’re hungry for more content, then go check out the recap. This is because you at least have a foot hold in what exactly is going on in hermitcraft instead of all these names flying at you in rapid speed without much time to process.

I personally started with Grian because i binge watched his build swap and evo series and was hungry for more content. I basically suggest to everyone who wants to get into hermitcraft to start with him because 1.) he is the most recent hermit to be added and watching him from the start doesn’t mean going back into years of content and 2.) because his videos are more... edited? i’m not sure how to describe it except for that it caters to people with shorter attention spans by being much more to the point. He rarely does any kind of grinding in his videos so it cuts out the bits that could become boring to some. I’m not bashing any of the hermits who do grind on camera, i love all of these funky crafters, but it’s understandable that not everyone is into that stuff. But, he does have 80 videos of hermitcraft at the moment of me writing this, which is defiantly not the most, but there are people with less.

If you watch Grian, you’ll most likely branch off to some other hermits he collabed with, which is what happened to me and the majority of others who watch Grian.

If you’re looking for someone with a whole lot less content of season 6, I would suggest Zedaph. Zedaph has 32 videos and uploads kind of sporadically? It seems like he tries to do it at least once of week, but with no set day and he misses weeks. He’s a really funny guy and is really wholesome to watch? I would 100% suggest him for anyone who just wants to dip their toes into hermitcraft.

These are the two people who I always suggest starting with for those reasons? I know people suggest every single hermit, but it can get over whelming so I go with these based on how I got into hermitcraft.

There also is a little but of lore for hermitcraft? But nothing that you REALLY need to know when starting- I sure as hell didn’t know. But! I will link some helpful video/short explanations for things that will probably pop up :o!

The Convex/Concorp is a business(?) run by two members of the server named GoodtimeswithScar and Cubfan135. This group was started back in season 5, but there’s nothing really to know except that their icon is the Vex (a mob found in the forest mansions). They also had a chapel, created by fellow member Welsknight, which they stole and turned into a shrine to High Priest of the Vex, Mr. Wololo - an illusioner which they “tamed” but putting a piece of glass in his head to prevent him from seeing. Wow, i just realized how brutal that sounds, even with context. 

Currently, they are the capitalist overlords of the server, having shops for basically everything and being the richest on the server.

The New Hermit Order (the nHo) is another group created in season 5. You won’t really hear much about them unless you watch Docm77. This was a group that claimed a huge jungle biome and consisted of Docm77, Ethoslab, Vintage Beef, and BdoubleO.

I can’t really offer much of an explanation from season 5 since I’ve only seen a couple episodes and I haven’t really been motivated to watch it, so sorry about my bare bones explanation.

Here is an explantation by the Recap boys which provide so much more context than I ever could about the nHo.

There’s also Worm Man - the server’s resident superhero in season 5, who hasn’t really been seen in season 6. You can see him in Zedaph’s season 5 videos with a little pink mask in the top right corner of the thumbnail.

Evil Xisuma is the edgy oc of Xisumavoid. Xisuma is one of original hermits on the server along with Joe Hills (who is still active this season) and Biffa2001 (who is no longer active this season, but will most likely rejoin back in season 7). Evil X’s goal is to destroy the hermitcraft server, which he keeps failing at because he literally not hurt a fly. Who let this child have eyeliner and an edge lord complex.

The rest of the “lore” you will learn just by watching season 6 so I’m not going to really talk about it.

The Lines on the Palms of My Hands

Joe had never questioned the lines he saw connecting the hermits. No, that’s a lie. At this point, he’s stopped questioning the lines he sees connecting the hermits. Because he thinks he’s finally figured out what they are.

To put it simply, the lines are love. To put it less simply, the lines are the love and relationships between the hermits made visible to Joe alone.

He’s only asked one other person about the lines, and when Cleo asked him what the hell he was talking about, he’d come to the conclusion that no one else could see the lines. Luckily, Cleo hadn’t brushed him off because of the weird questions, just filing it away as one of the many parts of the Joe Hills difference. 

And that’s okay with him. He knows that they’re real and that’s what matters. 

The lines appeared as brilliant white strings tied around people’s wrists, with the end trailing off to the other person the line is connected to. Joe has over a dozen strings tied around his own wrists. Most of are them barely more visible than spider silk, but some of them are as thick as rope. 

He always feels something deep inside his chest every time he sees a line snaking its way through the grass or floating on the breeze as one of its owners flies by on elytra. Sometimes he’ll hold one of his own lines and feel it hum, soft and warm. The best times though is when many hermits meet up and the lines start singing. 

Each individual line acts like a tuning fork and the air fills with song. The melody rises and falls with the excitement in the air. Joe wishes that everyone else could hear the sound of joy incarnate.

The worst song he’s ever heard was during the final battle of the civil war. The lines between the people on the same team sang of victory and joy but the lines of friends on opposite sides of the battle sang of pain and betrayal. The songs were in different keys and key signatures and tones and Joe could barely think. There was too much noise. Only a few minutes into the battle, he snuck away. 

Luckily, the war didn’t seem to have any long-lasting effects on any of the lines. If anything else, after it ended, the lines between the people on different teams only grew stronger. 

One of the things Joe didn’t like about the lines is that he could see the broken ones. Broken were actually quite common. Most of the lines that didn’t connect to anyone simply lead off the island and into the ocean, somewhere in the distance. The poet bet that even if he did follow one of those lines, it wouldn’t lead him anywhere.

The broken lines just stopped though. Trailing on the ground a few feet behind their owner. The poet always wonders who else the lines once connected too. Joe only knows who one of the broken lines once belonged too, because Xisuma never used to have a broken line. But after the message [ExilXisuma] was banned flashed across everyone’s communicators, the admin had a broken line tailing him where ever he went.

Joe has really only messed with the lines once. Yes, he will hold the lines and feel the love running through them, but he has pulled on a line once and has sworn to never do it again. 

He was standing on the shore of the main island, watching Scar fly around his handcrafted islands. The builder’s strongest line ran through the grass beside Joe and disappeared towards ConCorp, towards where Cub was working on the front gate. The poet had been messing with Scar’s line for a couple of minutes, feeling the energy run through it like he was touching a very weak electric fence.

Finally making up his mind, Joe grabbed the line, wrapped it around his hands, and pulled with all his might, trying to snap the line.

Three things happened very quickly.

One, the line screamed. It sounded like every single key on a piano was hit simultaneously with a sledgehammer.

Two, the line turned red hot in Joe’s hands. The poet screamed as it burned into his palms.

Three, Scar screamed, and Joe’s communicator lit up with two messages that he wouldn’t look at anytime soon.

[GoodTimesWithScar] fell from a high place.

[cubfan135] fell from a high place.

When Scar died, the burning line disappeared from around Joe’s hands, realigning itself between the two Convex. 

Eventually, the pain in Joe’s hands died down just enough to think instead of just screaming. The line was farther down the beach now, but still screaming. He could still hear Scar screaming from somewhere. 

At that point, he wasn’t thinking about Scar or even the line. He just needed to get away from there. So he ran inland, away from his crime. 

It was nearly a week before anyone heard anything from the Convex. And when they were heard they were furious with each other. Scar accused Cub of not giving Scar his fair share of the profits from ConCorp and Cub told Scar that he was spending too much time building and not enough time stocking ConCorp shops.

Both of them were wrong but neither of Convex let themselves imagine that they were wrong. It took both of them threatening to excommunicate the other for Xisuma to finally step in. The admin asked Joe to help with getting Scar and Cub to talk. The poet declined, saying that he recovering from an injury. He was, and Cleo was actually the one who answered the message, as Joe was still struggling to use his hands. 

After Cub and Scar makeup, they tell the story from time to time. They’ll say that they both suddenly got hit with the worst headaches of their lives and that it didn’t go away for nearly a week. Even after that, they were still in pain and it was clouding their judgment, and that it was only when X forced them to sit down and talk, did the pain finally go away and let them think clearly.

Only Joe knew the truth though. That he had nearly caused the destruction of ConCorp and the end of a friendship. 

When everything was done and Joe’s hands had healed enough for him to take the wraps off, there were still marks from what he’d done. Both of his hands had scars running from beside the webbing of his thumb across the palm and onto the back, forming a band around his hand in the same spot he had wrapped the Convex’s line in an attempt to snap it.

Even months afterward, every time he opened a door or lit a rocket to take off or wrote a poem, he was still reminded of his mistake when his hand’s didn’t move quite the same as they used to

Chapter 1 And then comes the Rabbit

It was the morning of the war.

The leader of the G-Team hadn’t slept. Something felt off about the world, but he couldn’t put a finger on what it was. Lost in his thoughts, he didn’t hear two of his teammates walking up to him. He had completely forgotten that he told them to meet up as soon as they woke up. 

A hand on his shoulder turned him around and broke his train of thought, his eyes landing on the two cheerful members of the team; Cleo and Joe, both having woken up as the sun shone through the window.

“Howdy Grian” Joe gave him a happy smile, yet his eyes were full of concern for his friend. He was standing with a sweater on as it was a bit cold outside. 

Cleo still wore her ripped up pirate clothes despite the weather. She looked at him, hand still on his shoulder. “Hey, it’s gonna be okay. Don’t worry, we got this.” He gave them a smile and gazed over at the bubble column, hearing someone come up as Iskall and Stress emerged from the water and into the meeting room with Mumbo close behind. He wore a mask they have given him, so they didn’t have to look at his face without the mustache. At last Jevin came up the bubble column in the base and took his seat at the meeting table. Tango was the only member missing as they started the meeting.

On the other side of no man’s land, Team S.T.A.R. --consisting of Doc, Xisuma, Ren, Wels, False, and Impulse-- was also getting ready.

False was already prepared to fight. She looked at the others. 

X was fiddling with whatever was nearby, occasionally looking up as Doc moved past him. Doc was pacing back and forth, grumbling to himself. He had to fight his so called friend, his own ex teammate who had betrayed him for Grian. How could Mumbo betray him like this? How dare he! Without thinking too much, he turned and punched the wall, leaving a sizable hole behind.

“Doc?” Ren cautiously walked up behind him. His ears were pushed low to his head. He may have been worried about his friend, but when Doc was this angry, he was terrifying.

“What?” Doc snapped back, glaring daggers at Ren. If a stare could kill, he would be dead where he stood. Doc’s hand was still in a fist, as if he was ready to hit anyone who came too close. This didn’t go unnoticed by Ren. 

“Hey calm down, I just wanted to make sure you were okay.” “Im fine,” Doc grumbled, turning away from Ren and resuming his pacing.

They couldn’t understand how it felt to be betrayed - or so he thought.

Impulse and Wels were sitting down at the table discussing tactics for the war. False listened in to bits of the conversation, not really too interested in the ghast cannons the two were going on about. Her attention moved to Doc as he got ready to punch another one of the base walls.

“Doc, can you sit down and tell us your attack plan?” she looked over at him, eyebrow raised. He didn’t want to argue with her, as she had him at sword point before. 

“Fine.” He begrudgingly took his seat. The ones who weren’t already sitting, followed him and joined the others until the whole team was gathered, ready to listen to the attack plan.

“So here’s the plan….”

Grian was sitting with his team, anxiously awaiting the signal from Concorp that the other team was ready.

He was half hoping the signal never came.

And then it did.

“Well then.. Good luck everyone” Grian gave a smile, not wanting to make everyone feel worse than he did at that moment. They needed to fight their friends. It wasn’t like everyone wanted to fight each other but they needed to. They had no choice anymore.

Jevin was paired with Grian in the battle. His partner seemed much more confident in his actions than he did, moving quicker than him across the battlefield and managing to shoot arrows at the oncoming ghast balls while keeping an eye on Grian too. 

He had put TNT on the wall of team S.T.A.R.’s base, blowing a hole into the giant tower.

He signaled to Jevin that he was okay, just as a trident landed in front of him.

Scared, he looked back to Jevin fighting close with Wels, his other teammates around him engaged in close combat with the opposing team. His eyes followed the enchanted trident as it moved back to the hand of its wielder, Doc. He took a deep breath. Looks like he’d have to take care of this himself. Taking his iron sword in hand, Grian readied himself and charged at the Team S.T.A.R. leader. The two clashed weapons, knocking each other back. However, Doc was quicker to recover than Grian, launching his trident as Grian was still steadying himself. The weapon hit its target, stabbing him in the abdomen. The enchantment on the trident took effect almost immediately, calling forth lightning from the sky and striking an already wounded Grian. He screamed out in pain as the trident tore itself from his body and returned to Doc’s hand. Tears fell from his eyes and blood trickled down from his mouth. The dark red liquid quickly seeped and spread from the holes in his chest. He lost grip of the sword and fell down on his knees, looking up as Doc approached him, a malicious grin forming on his lips. Coughing, Grian tried to stand up and flee, only to fall back down, holding to his wounds as he tried to make them stop bleeding. 

“STOP!!” Mumbo rushed over to them, standing between Doc and Grian, looking sharply at the former.

“One more step Doc and I won’t hesitate to stop you with force!” Tears fell from his eyes as he stood there. Why did it have to be him that had to do this.

Doc stopped before looking at Mumbo, his expression slowly changing from anger to hurt. 

“I gave you a chance to be something great, and you.. you betrayed me!” Doc growled pointing at Grian with his trident, his hands shaking with emotion. 

Grian looked up at Mumbo, opening his mouth to say something, only to cough up more blood. He felt weaker and weaker, his eyes growing dull and his skin turning pale. Mumbo turned around fast and dropped down next to his friend, laying his sword in the grass as he put one of his hands on Grian’s shoulder.

“Hang in there buddy, we will get you fixed up” Mumbo said, panic apparent in his voice. He moved to lift the injured man, but stopped as Grian grimaced in pain when he was moved. Mumbo looked back at Doc who was standing and watching them. 

“Help him dammit!!!!” He yelled out, stomach twisting in disgust as Doc simply shook his head.

“M-Mumbo..?” Grian tried to lift his head to look at him, his eyes slowly closing. His hand fell to the ground and his head dropped back as his body went still.

The last thing he saw was Mumbo trying to keep him awake.

It didn’t work. They had failed each other, the builder’s body disappearing from the ground. Mumbo cried out in grief. Doc, as if seeing the body vanish made him realise what he did, fell to his knees.

Grian’s things laid there on the ground, surrounded in his blood.
