Umbrella term for being intersex and your gender isn't your AGAB?

So right now, we have an established term, ipsogender, for an intersex person whose gender is the same as their gender assigned at birth.

To my knowledge, there is not an umbrella term for an intersex person whose gender is not the same as their AGAB. Right now we have the established term, ultergender, for an intersex person whose gender isn't their AGAB and doesn't identify as trans, and the category of trans-intersex for those that do.

EDIT: I have been informed by @interarchive that ultergender was coined to be an opposite of ipsogender, and is not actually exclusive of trans people. So the umbrella term is actually ultergender! 💜

In the world of anatomy, the opposite of ipsi- (same) is contra- (against), which is what to me would be the obvious choice. Unfortunately, the term contragender is already taken. 😭

Here are some options I'm considering, and want feedback on. Sorry Tumblr only lets you vote for up one thing so let me know in the replies if you like multiple, dislike any, etc.

Countergender has a previous coining but from what I can tell it didn't take off? If people are using this way please let me know, right now. It also seems to have limited use in sociology as shorthand for counter-stereotypic gender things. 🤔

Let me know what you think of the options! I'd especially like to hear from ultergender people and trans-intersex people whose gender isn't their AGAB. 💛

Today's Gender of the Day: Variaspec! (coined by me)

Variaspec is an umbrella term for identities that change, including fluid genders, genders that fluctuate, "spikes" in gender, and genders influenced by external sources such as mood or weather. Any gender that changes in any way can be considered variaspec.

Identities that fall under this are genderfluid, genderflux, fluidflux, hydrangeaflux, cosmosflux, affectugender, bordergender, contragender, and genderfluid subsets such as genderfaun.

The colors were borrowed from the gender hoarder flag, genderflux flag, and genderfluid flag. The colors look fluid and then suddenly jump to a different color after the white stripe to represent the variability of genders under this label.

Someone who is variaspec can use many labels found under this umbrella or they may simply call themselves variaspec. This identity is interchangeable with amplusian, but was made to match terms like "niaspec" or "aiaspec".

example: someone who is diafluix may sometimes be marfluid [fluid between mingenders (masculine-in-nature genders)] and sometimes be contragender (being a certain gender during the day and another during the night).

An autigender that is specifically connected to the feeling of not belonging to the human world/being a starseed/being a "thing". Autithinggender/Autithing/Authinggender

An aesthetigender that is related to images of animal anatomy, old animal studies, fossils, old papers of animal knowledge and/or ancient animals. No names connected.

A lexicgender/lexegender related to the structure of words/phrases in general. A gender connected to language structures and/or made up languages. No names connected

A biogender/lexegender? connected to the underlying structure of things, not specifically in a grand scheme or a cosmic view. A gender that is connected to categories and scientific names. Could be either connected to words or biology. Nametologygender/Scistructuregender/Categorigender

A colletor gender connected to contradictory labels. A gender related to the feeling of pride in contradiction and confusion. Contragender/Contrafusiongender/Collectradictiongender

That is all I have for now, but I intend on adding onto this list! I really like xenogenders and I would love if one day I could coin something that people would relate to.

Is there a word for people who identify as the opposite gender of the one they were assigned at birth, but don't consider themself trans?

I know contragender but it’s for trans people only, enanteian could be an alternative since enanteic orientation coined by @the-dawn-prayer stands for attraction to antigenders of you. Isogender and disigender fit too:

Iso (isogender): someone who isn’t cis but don’t identify as trans.

Disigender (dissigender or MGA): a dissent gender, encompasses all who aren’t normgender (fully cisgender), all the dissident gender alignment spectrum.

I think I'm a trans boy but I don't really identify with masculinity or boyhood particularly? I feel like almost the opposite of Proxvir? Like instead of being a masculine person close to being a boy but being on a different plane of masculinity, I feel like a boy who's gender isn't connected masculinity at all? Like a genderless boy. I think I only present masculinely because of dysphoria. If I was dmab I'd probably be more fluid with my gender presentation... Anyway, is there a word for this?

I’m not sure if I understand what you mean, because even if you can be a boy and not be masculine at all, I’m not sure if I get being a boy but not identifying with boyhood. But hey, let’s see what we’ve got.

Agender boy: “Agender individuals find that they have no gender identity, however, an agender girl/boy has some connection to girlhood/femininity or boyhood/masculinity. Other people might feel comfortable with feminine/masculine pronouns and a feminine/masculine presentation, and therefore call themselves a girl/boy because of that association and because calling themselves a girl/boy helps express that association, but they're still agender.”

Nonbinary Boy: “Nonbinary means not a binary gender. a Nonbinary person might call themselves a boy because they might feel associated with that gender, but be, for instance, a demiboy, which is a non binary gender. Other people might feel comfortable with masculine pronouns and a masculine presentation, and therefore call themselves a boy because of that association and because calling themselves a boy helps express that association, but they may still have a nonbinary identity like agender. Transneutral: A term used to describe transgender people who were assigned male or female at birth, but identify with neutral gendered feelings to a greater extent than with femininity or masculinity. They usually are nonbinary but could be trans men or trans women.

Schrodigender/Schrodingender: "A gender which you can both feel and not feel."Or: "A single gender that exists as if it were many genders at once."

Paragender: “A gender identity that is close to, but not exactly, a gender. For instance, someone who is a paraboy may feel that their gender is near to, but not quite male/masculine.”

Offgender: “A gender that closely represents/is most closely represented by another gender, but is not that gender. Can be likened to what the color off-white is to white for descriptive purposes. Similar in definition to paragender."

Contragender: “Someone who deeply defies and identifies opposite or against everything or most things that they associate with their assigned gender.Can be combined with relevant genders. For use by trans people only.“

Antigender or Ungender: “A gender identity that can only be understood as the opposite of another gender – for example, an antiboy would be the opposite of male.”Suggestion: You could be the opposite of nonpuer/nonvir, which is a gender defined by being masculine but not male at all. Keep in mind “antimasculine” doesn’t necessarily is a feminine gender, and “antigirl” is not necessarily a boy-like gender.

Also, I feel like I should point out that, while our definitions include masculinity for some reason (they were probably copied from somewhere else), the original definition of proxvir is not necessarily related to masculinity:

Proxvir– a gender relative to male, but is something separate and entirely on it’s own. it is not outside the gender spectrum. [prox from “proximus”, latin adjective for near, “vir” from masculine latin noun] (source)

Enanteic/Enanteian Pride Flags

@the-dawn-prayer has redesigned the flags I think you might enjoy.

Enanteic refers to having attraction for people having the opposite gender (antigender) to yourself. This term does not mean relationships on different sides of the masculine-feminine split (duaric) or other complementary genders. for example, an enanteic rahugender person does not necessarily have attraction to ketugender people. Very similar to contraic but enanteique isn’t necessarily nonbinary.

Enanteian means identifying as the antigender(s) [opposed] from the AGAB (gender assigned at birth), similar to contragender and transgender, but not means necessarily trans (non)binary. The colors represent being the opposite of your assigned gender at birth (rose to turquoise) instead of having a gender on the opposite side of the masucline-feminine divide (pink to blue).

Both “enanteian” and “enanteic” derive from the greek term έναντι/ἔναντι, meaning opposite or against. 

not gai or strayt related but it does fit the theme of nonbinary specific orientations~!
