#cool uncle vlad
Based off of this post.
Headcanon that back in college Jack and Maddie weren't dating yet, and maybe Vlad had drunkenly confessed to loving Maddie to Jack, but being drunk Jack didn't remember (or did he?) and after Vlad got hospitalized and they drifted apart, Jack married Maddie and they had two children.
So, after "abandoning" him and seemingly getting together, Vlad felt hurt and betrayed by both, but still loved and missed them dearly and wished things had happened differently.
Therefore, he tries to reconnect with both before the reunion in Canon and they get back in touch. Maddie and Jack don't apologize or even acknowledge that they hurt Vlad, something he grows to resent deeply.
As such, Vlad meets Jazz and Danny earlier at a younger age, way before the portal was a thing and Danny became a halfa. Vlad decides that the best way to get back at Maddie and Jack is through their kids, because what parent doesn't care for and love their child?
However, as Vlad gets closer to try to turn the kids against their parents, he realizes that he doesn't have to try that hard at all. Maddie and Jack are so focused on their ghost research that they often neglect their house and their kids. Vlad starts coming around more often, partly because he still wants revenge but also partly out of concern for them.
As Uncle Vlad becomes closer to Jazz and Danny, Vlad realizes that Maddie and Jack really are clueless buffoons and that they haven't got a clue about the consequences of their actions. It makes it harder to hold a grudge even if it hurts like a bitch because they should notice when their loved ones are hurting because of their actions.
But they don't. So Vlad helps Jazz with her schoolwork, not that she needs it, and listens to her psychobabble and listens to Danny go on and on about space and being an astronaut and Vlad really grows to love them both.
Then the portal happens, and Danny half-dies, and Vlad immediately notices that something is wrong because this 14-year-old kid died and no one seems to have noticed.
Vlad then decides to reveal his ghost self to Danny in an attempt to help Danny feel less alone, less isolated and less afraid because he lives with ghost hunters who'd love nothing more than to dissecr him for science.
This Danny knows Uncle Vlad, and trusts him, and allows himself to be mentored by someone he sees more like a father than his own.

AU where we mix Danny Phantom and The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod.
Basically replace all the vampire stuff with ghost stuff, make Val a frienemy/let her know his secret, give us uncle Plasmius, etc. It would be interesting to see how that plays out relationship-wise. I have ideas of who other DP characters could be in it too if anyone wants to discuss these two pieces of media/combining them.

In your Babysitter Vlad AU, do you think the Portal accident would still happen? Or would Vlad be there to stop Danny from going into the portal? Or if it did happen how would a Vlad who has had some time to grow as a person and come to care for Danny and Jazz react?
Yes, Danny most likely still has his portal accident in this AU, pretty much exactly how it goes in canon. Some key details are as follows:
-Since he and Jazz have first hand experienced a lot of Weird Ghost Stuff together since they were kids, he voluntarily tells her his secret very quickly.
-Danny and Jazz know Vlad....isn't normal. He obviously never told them anything, but both of them witnessed a LOT of very weird and unexplainable things in regards to him during those stints as their babysitter. They were just kids, so they don't remember everything perfectly clearly, but they're in agreement nothing they experienced was a dream.
-By the time Danny gets himself zapped, Vlad hasn't babysat them in several years. He probably stopped before Danny's tenth birthday because the kids were old enough by that point to articulate that their uncle might be a little bit more than just a human. He still sends them birthday cards, though, and Danny and Jazz remember him fondly.
-All of this taken into consideration, Jazz immediately tries to convince Danny to call Vlad after he tells her about his powers. Danny says no, because that sounds like it has the potential to be the most uncomfortable, cringeworthy conversation of his life. Not because he doesn't trust Vlad, but because he really doesn't know how to call up his bizarre pseudo-family member who he hasn't seen in person since he was about nine, and tell him "Hey, Uncle Vlad, remember how you used to babysit me when I was a kid? Cool. I'm pretty sure I just died in my parent's portal."
-Bitter Reunions is really Awkward Reunions in this AU. Jazz spends the entire stay at their uncle's castle trying to get him and Danny to talk about the you know what. Neither one of them is cooperating.
Tumblr media
Vlad is horrified and exasperated but overall hardly surprised. That mentorship offer doesn't come with a "renounce your father" requirement in this AU, so Danny probably takes him up on it!

My heart always breaks a little rewatching Bitter Reunions and seeing how Danny is just- happy to be around Vlad? Like, this kid seems to be excited about meeting his parents’ old college buddy, he’s totally on board with having a quirky rich uncle. He even seems genuinely invested in Vlad’s obsession with the Packers. Vlad really just speedruns ruining his chances of having Danny’s love and respect by completely dropping the facade not even two days after meeting him. Danny thought Vlad was a little weird, but also cool in that slightly-unhinged-uncle way, he would’ve totally let Vlad into his life 😭 Vlad, babygirl, the stars were so perfectly aligned in your favor, you are soooo stewpid </3

Danny Phantom Randomness (Principal Masters)
Tumblr media
Not sure if this idea has been used in the phandom before, probably not since it’s a pretty common for the principal of a school in a cartoon to be the antagonist in some way, but I thought I’d share it anyways. So here’s what I’m thinking. Personally I think it would have made a lot more sense for Vlad to switch tactics and double down on trying to win Danny over instead of going full cookie-cutter-bad-guy-that-wants-to-rule-the-world after cloning him failed which would make him realize that his little badger really is one of a kind and what he has can’t be replicated.
Up until this point Vlad’s been making Danny’s life more difficult instead of easier which was his whole sales pitch when they first met...
Vlad: Daniel, stop. Think about the things I could show you, the doors I could open for you. You, Danny Phantom, and I, Vlad Plasmius. Together, we could rule.
Then there’s these comments Vlad made to Danny in Reign Storm...
Vlad: Sneak attack, very good, Daniel. You're getting more like me with every battle.
Danny: I AM NOTHING LIKE YOU!
Vlad: Oh, you're not? Using your powers to get back at people you don't like? Throwing the first punch? You're more like me than you know.
I’m so disappointed this didn’t develop into something more interesting where Danny starts to genuinely worry he’s becoming too much like Vlad which would have made the events of The Ultimate Enemy twice as cool because it’d be like a glimpse of that reality where he’d actually become worse than Vlad. But, back to the topic at hand! I’ve mentioned this in a few of my fanfics but I think the whole cloning thing was more of a desperate attempt to get Danny on his side since Vlad never really made any serious attempts to tempt him to join willingly and just spent the whole time bashing Jack and telling Danny he’d be a better father.
With that in mind, rather than being a petty rich bully after Danny gets Vlad’s mansion destroyed in Season 3 what if Vlad decided to put his foot down to “re-educate” him so to speak? What I mean by that is instead of running for Mayor of Amity Park, why didn’t Vlad try to replace the principal of Casper High? For one thing it would have ACTUALLY made sense because the position doesn’t require living somewhere for more than 6 months and its purely based on their education and teaching experience. And I think overshadowing the right people on a smaller scale would make it more believable than the whole Mayor thing.
Vlad could of course still be a jerk about a lot of things to get back at Danny like force the whole dress code thing, however, it would have been an interesting twist if when Danny comes to Vlad to apologize and ask for a truce he graciously accepts which totally throws Danny for a loop. Why? Because that was the plan all along! Vlad wanted Danny to learn there are consequences to his actions, realized that fighting him is counterproductive, and on top of that, to actually show how much easier he could make Danny’s life by letting him become a part of it.
Honestly, I absolutely love the idea of him unexpectedly becoming the cranky overprotective type kind of like what you see in this amazing comic strip by @lilianade-comics: https://www.tumblr.com/lilianade-comics/703807353584320512/aw-man-dont-you-hate-it-when-your-arch-enemy?source=share
Think about it. If Vlad started to make Jack look bad without actively insulting him to make Danny finally get fed up with being hunted by his parents to the point where he’d reluctantly go there just to catch his breath once the two of them agree to a cease fire. Trouble with the high school bullies? In comes Uncle Vlad who happens to be the richest man in the world and a close personal friend of the Fenton family so Danny’s off limits. Ghost attack? Vlad helps cover up Danny disappearing to fight them or even scares them off if he has an important test that day. The list goes on on what Vlad could do to either make Danny’s life a living hell in a more personalized way by invading his school life or a lot better depending on their interactions at Casper High.
Long story short its basically using the idea that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar and all that so seeing Vlad gradually start doing nice things for Danny from time to time might help change his tune. Because deep down Danny DOES want to learn more about being half-ghost, but he refuses to accept Vlad’s offer to join him because he hasn’t really done anything to make it appealing. Vlad’s always insulting Danny and his father so if you ask me, giving him the praise he doesn’t get at home or at school could change so much between them...
Vlad’s just gotta be smarter about it.
Obviously Danny would be suspicious if Vlad started acting too nice to him right away so the changes would be gradual. And whenever he goes to Vlad for help or at the very least asks if he’ll cut him some slack Vlad will reward him for coming to him first. Especially because unlike his parents, Vlad knows exactly how much he’s dealing with and I’d love it if what started off as a plan to manipulate Danny transformed into an actual student and mentor relationship leading into a redemption arc instead of whatever Season 3 was.
And there you have it. Principal Masters AU anyone?

Uncle Vlad AU
AU where Vlad actually gets along with the adults in the Fenton household pretty well. The Problem is the Teachers. (And ghosts. But mostly the teachers).
Maddie:
He and Maddie have been flirting awkwardly since they were 10 years old because it was funny when adults did it, and never stopped. Neither means anything by it.
Yes, Mr. Lancer, Jack does know that.
No, we do not need you to send Danny home with the Scarlet Letter. There is no affair. You know what, if you spent this much time protecting my kids from bullies, we-
Good mom, ok? She is! Sure, she gets distracted by work a lot, but she's not intentionally negligent, and she does her best. She just isn't able to connect with Danny the way she can with Jazz.
Jack:
Thinks the awkward flirting is hilarious. Regularly eggs on both his wife and BFF. Hides out at Vlad's to watch football games.
ADHD solidarity with Vlad. Two bros chillin' on a Packers couch, oi, asshole, did you just fumble in the first kickoff! Yeah, he did, which reminds me,did you want to come by for-
Jack was supposed to be there to ask Vlad for help on the portal. They have watched the Bears beat the Vikings, made plans for the weekend, managed to cook an entire meal, and it's not until 2 days later that Jack remembers. (Am I projecting my ADHD? You better bet )
Like Maddie, he isn't intentionally negligent, he just gets distracted super easily. He does his best, but often fails. A true himbo: strong of body, giant of heart, dumb of ass.
Vlad:
Died 20 years ago, but also recognizes that putting his face into a portal to another dimension wasn't a great idea.
Reiterates lab safety constantly despite consistently breaking the rules.
"Remember, children, do not eat or drink in the lab."
"Um. You're drinking ectoplasm right now, though."
"And I'm dead! I can get away with it!"
Despite this, neither Jack or Maddie know he's dead. Plasmius? "Cool costume!" Loses a hand that grows back in a day? "How'd you get that illusion to work?" Jokes about being dead? "Ha ha, yes, we get it. You're dead inside and like grim humor."
Neither Danny or Jazz- who do know- are allowed to tell their parents, because, "come on, guys, don't ruin a 20 year experiment for me! I wanna know how long it takes!"
Vlad is "independently wealthy". As in, he robbed a bunch of billionaires, and has blackmail on twice as many.
So as not to draw too much suspicion, he's a writer. Mostly trashy romance novels or technical manuals. There is no in-between.
Danny:
Dies. Immediately joins Vlad in death jokes. Jazz: You NEED TO talk about it! Danny: IDK, Jazz, I'm still pretty shocked. Get it?
Vlad: Hey, I gotta go visit dead family for the holidays, wanna come with?
Danny: Is that where you go every year? What do you do?
Jazz: Please don't make a ghost joke, please don't make a-
Vlad: Yeah, well, we go haunting, play games, decorate the cemetery, you know. Just get into the holiday spirit, and have a damned good time.
Jazz: I'm calling the Ghostbusters.
Starts learning how to fight ghosts- Uncle Vlad helps, of course, and- DANIEL PHANTOM, WHY are you HERE, and not in math class?! GO.
Nobody knows why Vlad's so chill about the death thing until his family comes to visit- turns out, his mother's maiden name was Addams. Yes, those Addams'.

So, I had a thought. Like we all know and, for the most part it seems, enjoy a good “Good Vlad Masters” fic. But on that: Chill Vlad. Like not just a good uncle/parental figure/person, but a generally chill dude.
Like Vlad bought Dairy King’s Castle? He did it to have it restored and for DK’s benefits while allowing Vlad to have a base.
Vlad obsessed with Maddie? It isn’t cause he loves her romantically, it’s cause he saw her as his sister and saw that she was spiraling into her fixation with ghosts.
Vlad hates Jack? It’s cause he saw Jack was a problem long before the safety hazards.
Give me a Vlad that is a generally mellow individual who is “Good Dad” level along with “Cool/Chill Uncle” vibes.
Give me a Vlad who is rich, but dresses closer to a college frat boy and less like a stuck up CEO. A t-shirt, a flannel over shirt, a set a jeans (ripped at the knees or not), and a set of freaking converse or something similar.
All I Can see is:
Vlad never expected this. When he reached out to Jack and Madeline to check on them, cause despite everything that was his ‘sister’ damnit, he wasn’t expecting to find out they had a little girl and an infant son. Oh. Oh fuck. The panic that coarse through his body. No. No, he couldn’t leave those poor kids to fend for themselves. He could feel the very visceral change in the direction his obsession suddenly took. From protecting Maddie to protecting her kids. Holy shit, he never thought something like that could change so sharply, the ache in his core due to how sudden the change was, leaving him bent over, grasping his chest, gasping. He had to step in. Maddie and Jack shouldn’t have ever had kids. Oh Ancients. He had to get Jack and Maddie to give him the kids. He had to be subtle, Jack may be a moron but Maddie definitely wasn’t. If he could just figure out how to get them to sign over custody. Fuck, it may take a while. In the meantime however he can step in with an offer of baby sitting. He… he paused. Was this actually something he wanted to do? Or something his core was pushing him to do? Both. At this point it was both. He wouldn’t let Jack and Maddie hurt those kids the way they hurt him.

ꜰᴀᴍɪʟʏ ʀᴇᴜɴɪᴏɴ ᴄᴀꜱ ᴄʜᴀʟʟᴇɴɢᴇ
(thanks @faerie-tempest)
Okay I went a bit wild and did the whole challenge for Devon's family. This was really fun and I highly encourage doing this one!
(See below the cut for who's-who!)
Devon Grace (the influencer + cousin who's getting married) - The reality star, social media influencer and adult entertainer we all know and love! She's also getting married to her new boo, unbeknownst to him.
Stavros Pantazis (the new bae) - Literally new new, they met less than a sim-week ago and are now expecting a little terror of their own. No one will bother remembering his name and Grandma keeps calling him "Vlad".
Briar Rose Grace (the quiet judgmental youngin') - Devon's daughter. What can i say, she's a saucy little shit lol.
Brianna Grace (the competitive sibling) - Devon's younger sister and a bit of a brat in her own right.
Mary-Jacqueline Grace (the instigator) - Devon and Brianna's mother. She's a chainsmoking, hard-drinking hot mess of a broad. She's been known to get into fist-fights with grown men (and win, of course).
Catherine Grace-De la Roca (the cool aunt) - Mary-Jacqueline's twin sister and the only reason Devon and Brianna turned out half-sensible. Art teacher and travel enthusiast.
Rodrigo De la Roca (the world's most interesting uncle) - Catherine's husband and walking encyclopedia of weird and random knowledge. Has some kind of bizarre story for every occasion. Don't ask him to tell the thumb story.
Gabi De la Roca (the holier-than-thou student) - Teenage terror with brains to burn. She's banking on a full scholarship to Britechester to get away from her unhinged family.
Enid Grace (the family recipe gatekeeper) - The matriarch of the Grace family. Rules the kitchen with an iron fist. Whatever you do, don't ask for her rhubarb pie recipe.
Tony Grace (the overly-supportive grandparent) - Enid's husband and family patriarch. Wanna join the circus? Drop out of college? Kill someone? Grandpa's got your back (and probably the shovel).
Ronnie Grace (the bitcoin uncle) - Tech nerd and the lamest guy you will ever meet. Somehow his family hasn't left him for his constant rants about blockchains. May or may not have lost half his savings from investing in Llamacoin. Mary-Jacqueline and Catherine's younger brother.
Keisha Grace (the nosy relative) - Somehow still married to Ronnie (but doesn't know about the Llamacoin yet). Actually loves family gatherings because she gets all the dirt to gossip about with her friends later.
Niko Grace (the peacemaker) - Ronnie's son from his first marriage, at 31 he's still "finding himself" (ie: unemployed musician living in his parents' basement). You can probably find him outside of a family gathering trying to push weed on his younger cousins.
Grayson Grace (the golden child) - It's really not hard to be the golden boy when your older brother sells weed to children.
Tabitha Loveless (the passive-aggressive auntie) - A widower, Tony's older sister and Devon's great-aunt. Tabitha may or may not have flown to the gathering on her broom.
Karen Loveless (the live-laugh-love mom) - Tabitha's daughter. Cheerful to a fault, but please don't ruffle her couch cushions or you will face the wrath of God. Has been in a 17-year old standoff with Aunt Enid over that goddamn pie recipe.
Eddie and Jason Loveless (the d.i.n.k.w.a.d's) - Karen's son and son-in-law. They just got back from a cruise and can't wait to tell you all about it. They're really living their double-income-no-kids-with-a-dog life to the fullest. They considered leaving because their precious pooch, Tangerine, was not given her own place setting.
Kurt Loveless and Monica Song (the anxious new parents) - Eddie's twin brother and his fiancée. Just welcomed a bouncing baby boy, Chevron Fritz Loveless. Baby Chevron is so special that he spends 18.5 of 24 hours a day screaming his sweet little head off. If it weren't for his mother Karen, Eddie is convinced he would kill his twin brother and take over his life. Monica showed up to the reunion with baby shit on her shirt and is unfazed.
Kelly Loveless-Strong (the wino soccer mom) - Tabitha's other daughter and Karen's younger sister. She's convinced her precious boy is going to make it to the World Cup (that is if he can get tf off of Twitch). Fun fact: there's definitely wine in that coffee cup. Is 100% likely to get into a table-dancing contest with cousin Mary-Jaqueline later.
Colby Strong (the 'other' influencer) - The family still doesn't undertand how Colby got famous for playing videogames but they are all so proud anyhow, even if he is pissing away his opportunity at being a world-class athlete. Most definitely out back smoking weed with cousin Niko.

DP x Sky High Crossover
This takes place shortly after Danny's accident. He's mostly gotten his powers under control, but he slips up in front of his parents. He's terrified, the words "molecule by molecule" ringing in his head. However, in this au, superpowers are semi-normal, and his parents are ecstatic! An involuntary bout of intangiblity has his parents speculating whether it could have been caused by radiation from the lab or something else entirely.
Not sure if Danny's parents have powers or not, I'm thinking maybe Maddie has some kind of mental/emotional power that Jazz inherited which in her turned into an empath power.
Jazz didn't want to go to the superhero school, instead looking to use her powers in the therapeutic/psychology field.
Their parents tell Danny of Sky High, a school for kids with powers, where he could take the opportunity to learn and hone them. They have a contact in the school who is a friend from their college days (I'm thinking Coach Boomer or Ron Wilson, Bus Driver).
Danny talks to his friends about this, and they're excited for him too. In fact, Sam's parents were forcing her to go as well because it would "look good for their family name". Tucker wants to enroll to see all the tech and gadgets that superheroes get to use up close.
I think Sam would have the power to control poisonous/carnivorous plants (we already have Layla, so she has to be separate somehow), and we all know Sam; she brings plants and seeds to keep in her locker/bag. Tucker would have the power to talk to code (?) idk, there's already a technopath in the movie, so I'm open to ideas.
Back to Danny's accident, his friends are obviously concerned about Danny revealing his ghost side, so he agrees to not transform, and to only use his limited powers that are available in his human form (intangibility, invisibility, etc. no ecto-powers. This is also before his ice core activates, unless something happens further down the line 👀)
Now for the antagonists. I want the main villain to be Vlad. No one knows he's a halfa, not even Danny, but he knows about Danny and is keeping that knowledge for when opportunity arises. He wants Danny to be his apprentice, so when he sees his name on the roster, he takes up an assistant teaching position. As far as anyone else knows, Vlad's power is plasma manipulation (giving him a plasma core in this bc I like it).
Danny had no idea his uncle Vlad worked at Sky High (for now, everyone is oblivious, and Vlad plays the "good Uncle Vlad act" for a while to try and manipulate Danny to be his apprentice).
As for Sue Tenny/Gwen Grayson/Royal Pain, she does still play a big part in this story, but since Vlad is the main antagonist, I'm thinking he uses her to get to where he wants. Maybe they strike a deal, she thinks she's in charge, Vlad messes up her plans behind her back, usurps her at the last minute, idk (again, I'm open to ideas). I mostly don't want her to be the main villain bc de-aging/aging up makes me uncomfortable :< (minus what Stove did, making Dani the same age as Danny so they look like twins, that was cool and I like it better than canon). But her whole plot with Will and the others still happens like in the movie, we're just sprinkling in some more characters.

[Part 1]
Vlad tensed up with his hand up to knock. There was a ghost around his people. His hackles rose. How dared they?! Who dared?!
In a move that was instinct than choice, Vlad turned himself invisible and walked the perimeter. He couldn't find whoever or whatever it was that triggered his ghost sense, but he still felt uneasy.
He returned to the door, fixed his hair and knocked. Jazz opened the door with a smile and gave him a hug. From the basement came loud, indistinguishable sounds, but those were indication enough that Maddie and Jack were down there. Vlad looked around for his little badger, but didn't find him.
"Where's your brother?" Vlad asked. Jazz stiffened at the question and looked uncomfortable, and Vlad's uneaseness grew, "Jasmine, where is he?"
"He's in his bedroom," Jazz said and looked nervous, "he's not feeling well today."
Vlad raised an eyebrow and asked, "Is he sick? Does need to go to the doctor?"
Jazz huffed, exasperated, "I've been trying to convince him to go for days, but he won't listen! The only people he talks to now are Sam and Tucker ever since-"
Jazz stopped herself and looked at Vlad with wide eyes. Clearly, she didn't intend to say something that had slipped out.
"Since when, Jazz?" Vlad asked, concerned.
"Mom and dad said we didn't need to worry you," Jazz replied, instead.
"Let me decide if whatever happened is worth worrying about by myself," Vlad snapped, losing patience. Jazz seemed taken aback by it, but cowed enough to spill the beans.
"Danny had an accident down in the lab a few days ago," Jazz confessed. Vlad froze. Of course Danny would have an accident the week he couldn't be there. Worry gnawed at him.
"What kind of accident?" He asked.
"We don't know!"
"What do you mean you don't know?"
"No one was home when it happened. My parents finished their stupid portal but it didn't work. Or so we thought. When we came back it was working but Danny wouldn't come out of his room. It wasn't even him who told us something happened, but Sam," Jazz ranted and her worry was evident.
"And what did your parents do?"
"Nothing! Said he must be fine if he was able to walk up to his room! I tried to talk to him but he won't talk to me," Jazz replied and tears formed in the corner of her eyes. Vlad hugged her briefly, hoping to comfort her. He didn't know what was going on. The portal shouldn't be working at all, so he'd have to threaten Technus again, but that was after he found out what really happened to Danny. Vlad was hoping for a laceration that could be stitched up.
"I'll go see him. Maybe he'll talk to me."
Jazz huffed, but agreed, "Maybe."
Vlad walked up the stairs and stood in front of Danny's door. The hairs on his arm stood on end, and his ghost core flared up. Something was wrong, it screamed at him. He knocked. No answer.
"Little badger?" Vlad asked as he knocked again. This time he heard a rustling sound, but the door didn't open and Danny didn't call out. "Jazz told me what happened. I'm worried about you. Can I see you?"
"Uncle Vlad..." Danny's voice came from the other side, muffled, but Vlad was happy to get any verbal response, "go away."
"No can do, Little Badger. I want to make sure you're ok."
"I'm fine."
"You don't sound fine."
The door was yanked open, and Vlad had to stop himself from reacting outwardly. Danny was most definitely not fine. He had deep, purple bags under his eyes, which were bloodshot, and his hair was disheveled as if he hadn't bothered with it for days. And he probably hadn't. Not when he had more pressing matters to attend to; matters that now Vlad knew because his core resonated and told him that there was another ghost in front if him.
"See?" Danny said with a glare, "I'm fine. Now leave me alone."
Danny went to close the door but Vlad wasn't above using his extra strength to push through anyway. Danny yelped, clearly surprised. Vlad rounded on him, seeing red. His core didn't like a strange ghost near his people, but it didn't seem to realize that the ghost was one of his people, yet.
"Uncle Vlad?" Danny asked and he sounded scared. It echoed some long buried memory of waking up in the hospital, afraid and alone, forgotten and abandoned.
"What have they done?!" Vlad exploded, unable to help himself. Danny closed the door quickly, as if that could muffle Vlad's voice, or as if Jack and Maddie could hear all the way down to the lab and give a fucking damn.
"What are you talking about, Uncle Vlad?" Danny asked and Vlad couldn't decide if the boy was trying to play dumb or if he was genuinely confused.
"Don't lie to me, Daniel. What happened in the lab?" Vlad demanded, though he already had an idea.
Danny flinched. If Vlad was calling him Daniel it meant trouble.
"Nothing!"
"Don't lie to me," Vlad repeated.
"What makes you think it's their fault anyway?" Danny deflected.
Because it always is, Vlad thought, but said, "Because this wouldn't be the first time something like this has happened!"
"And what does 'this' mean, exactly?" Danny replied, crossing his arms and attempting a glare. But Vlad recognized the bait for information for what it was and felt a vein pulse on his forehead.
"That's not how it works, little badger. You want information? Then tell me the truth. All of it. And then I'll tell you what I know," Vlad said. Danny clammed up. Vlad noticed his fists clenching where they were crossed. Vlad pinched the bridge of his nose and forced himself to take a deep, long breath. Then another one. And another one. Until he felt he wouldn't blast Jack and Maddie Fenton to Mars if they knocked on the door right then.
Then he looked at Danny, who seemed to have realized that while Vlad was angry, furious really, it wasn't at him. Now, Danny just looked scared, and a bit lost.
"Danny, I want to help you," Vlad said, struggling to push his anger away to be dealt with later, "and I know you must be scared. However, I also know something happened to you, something that changed you, so lying is only wasting both of our times."
Danny met Vlad's eyes, only to turn away. The crossed arms in front of him turned from a shield to a hug to himself as Danny drew in on himself. For the first time, Vlad was seeing how Danny really felt and his heart went out to the teen.
"You're going to hate me," Danny said, and turned away from Vlad.
"Oh, little badger," Vlad said and took a step towards Danny with the intention of doing... something: a hug, a comforting pat on the shoulder, something, but Danny recoiled and flinched and Vlad stopped with his hand still hovering in the air, "I could never hate you."
"Your best friends are ghost hunters," Danny spat, and then paled, as if he had said something he shouldn't. If Vlad was someone else, perhaps, but as it was, Vlad thought he knew exactly what was wrong.
Vlad realized that demanding answers would get him nowhere with Danny. Neither would intimidation. Danny was scared and probably wanted to feel safe. If Vlad wanted Danny to trust him, Vlad had to show Danny that he could.
Vlad sat on Danny's bed and tried to make himself look as unthreatening as possible.
"Do you want to know why I stopped ghost hunting?" Vlad asked. The question took Danny by surprised and intrigued him.
"Why?"
"Twenty years ago your parents and I went to college together," Vlad answered, "we began working then on a prototype for the ghost portal your parents are so obsessed with today."
"Twenty years ago?" Danny asked, flabbergasted.
"Twenty years ago."
"But they didn't succeed."
"They kind of did," Vlad reluctantly admitted, "I want to clarify that I'm not saying this so you'll think bad of your parents Danny, but so that you understand. What happened then was an accident that could have and should have been prevented with the right safety measures, and it makes me furious that in the twenty years since they haven't improved in that regard."
Danny uncrossed his arms and sat down next to Vlad. Vlad could tell he was listening intently.
"There was an accident," Vlad continued, "and I received a lot of ectoplasm and radiation to my face. I spent the following months in the hospital, but I had... changed."
Danny kept his eyes on Vlad when he asked, "Changed how?"
"I became this," Vlad said and transformed into Plasmius in front of Danny. Immediately, Danny transformed into a ghost, too. Whether it was the resonance of their core or a voluntary transformation was unclear.
"You're a ghost, too?" Danny asked, his voice whispy and small.
"Half ghost," Vlad clarified, "what happened little badger?"
Danny's eyes teared up and he looked away, but he answered this time, "It was a dare."
"A dare?"
"The portal wasn't working. It was supposed to have failed! Sam dared me to go inside and I thought it would be okay because their inventions never work but..."
"But this time it did, didn't it?"
"It was so stupid! Who even puts the on switch on the inside of the machine?! I tripped over something and turned it on and then... and then..."
"Oh, Danny," Vlad said and brought Danny close. This time Danny allowed himself to be held as he began to cry and sob.
"It hurt, Uncle Vlad," Danny said, "it hurt so bad, but I couldn't tell my friends, or Jazz, or my parents. My friends already felt so guilty, and Jazz would only worry, and my parents... they would want to... to... I'm scared, Uncle Vlad."
"You are allowed to be scared, upset and angry. Just know that you don't have to do this alone, okay?"
Danny was quiet for a moment, sniffled, and then quietly said, "Okay."
"Can you change back, now?"
"I-I'll try..."
"Focus on your core, Danny, and will it to hide," Vlad said and tried to be encouraging.
"I don't know what that means."
"Close your eyes," Vlad said and Danny did so, "is there a part of you that feels hotter or colder than the rest of you?"
Danny's brow furrowed as he focused, and then he nodded.
"You're going to give it a little push, just enough so that it hides and lets you revert back to human," Vlad continued.
Danny's face scrunched up, and soon the familiar rings of light washed over Danny and he was human again. Danny opened his eyes in awe.
"I did it!"
"You did," Vlad agreed, feeling pride welling up in his core, "for the record, I am sorry this happened to you, Danny. This is in no way your fault, and I'll help you through this."
"Can I go live with you?" Danny blurted out.
"I wish you could, but I believe that would arouse more suspicions than we want at the moment."
"But my parents..."
"They won't touch you, okay? I promise you that I'll do everything in my power to keep you safe," Vlad interrupted.
"But you aren't here half the time... you were gone one week and now look at me!"
"I know, and I'm sorry Danny. I'll try to come by more often, but even if I'm not here, I'll make sure you have the means to get away if you feel in danger, okay? I'll also give you a key to my house, so you know you always have a safe place to land on," Vlad insisted.
"Okay."
"Okay?"
"Okay."
"Good. How about we go out for dinner, then? I think we deserve it," Vlad said with a grin.
"Burgers?" Danny asked in return with small smile of his own.
"Deal."

do you have more of that no one cares au
I had no idea that No One Cares AU would be so much of a hot take tbh kjshdfl I thought it wasn't very original. BUT THIS IS GOOD NEWS I've loved everyone takes that they added hehe. So um I went a bit off the rails with this response,,
Danny w/ the ghosts:
Sam: “Danny, the box ghost is back.”  D: “What’s he doing?” Sam: “Some lady by the flower store gave him all her recyclable cardboard. He’s building a fort. You wanna go get rid of him, or?” D: “What, no. He’ll get bored and go home, you know that.” Sam: “Why do you look upset, then?” D: “He didn’t invite us to his fort :( “  Sam: “We’re at school, though-” D: “IT’S THE PRINCIPLE OF THE THING, SAM.”
T: “Tell me more about this…internet web site.” Tucker: “YOU’VE ASKED THE RIGHT PERSON.” T: “I asked the ghost child, actually, BUT YOU SEEM MUCH MORE SOCIABLE.” D: “Oh, sure, he seems more sociable now, not when he kicks my ass at video games, but go off I guess.” T: “WHAT IS THIS ABOUT A VIDEO PLAYING GAMES I HEAR.” Tucker: “dude you thinking about what im thinking? Technus, buddy, we’re going to show you a fighting game, you’ll love it.” T: “A VIDEO THAT FIGHTS GAMES- THAT SOUNDS COOL”- punches danny in the face- “I’LL GO FIRST, WHERE IS VIDEO PART AT.” D: “Actually you gave me an idea. we play smash bros WHILE fighting.”  T: “THIS SOUNDS HIP AND POPPING LET’S DO THAT.”  Tucker: “I’ll keep score.”
E: “Haha you think I could brainwash all the teens with my sick ass tunes if I tried?”  D: “Oh, worm? Probably. But I don't think you need to brainwash anyone though, everyone already loves your music.” E: “Ain’t that right. Okay, dipstick, wanna see how far I can throw you with my new guitar chord instead?” D: “Yes.”
S: “Where are you, whelp? I’ll get my hands on that pelt of yours, mark my words.” D: “Mark? I thought you were Skulker.”  S: “You cannot hide from the Ghost Zone’s greatest hunter!” D: “No, I can, you just don’t want me to. I get that, that’s cool. I gotta get back to class though, you want to pick this up later?” S: “Oh. I was looking forward to deadly hide and seek :(“  D: “You’ll get your shot big guy. Just don’t terrorize anyone until school’s out? Or do you want to get in the thermos for time out-” S: “No. Do you want to get in my net to see how far I can throw you?” D: “Yes. See if you can launch me right into my classroom and I’ll give you an extra kick to the face, deal?” S: “A true hunter knows patience and never backs down from a challenge.”  D: “I love how dramatic you are.“
School:
Mr. L: “Mr. Fenton, where are you going?” D: “Ghost.”- goes ghost in the middle of the classroom - Mr. L: “Which one?” D: “Eh, dunno.”
P: “Danny, you like the stars and stuff, right?” D: “I do like space, yes.” P: “Tell me about the signs- I’m trying to win an argument, Star says our signs aren’t compatible, but they totes are.”  D: “Um. Do it anyway.” P: “Isn’t it important though?” D: “Do it anyway.” P: “So true, bestie, thanks.”  D: “I just do stuff regardless of the consequences.” P: “So true bestie, thanks.”
V: “Cujo only listens to me when I’m wearing red, what does that mean? I thought…isn’t it bulls that don’t like red? He’s a dog…” D: “If he likes red, then wear red more often? I dunno I could ask Technus or uncle Vlad to make you a red ghost suit or something. Might respond better to…ghost red.” V: “Really?” D: “Makes sense to me.” V: “Hmm, fine, okay, but it needs to make me look cool.”  D: “Naturally.”
W: “Are you guys serious?! How can Fenton be a ghost? That doesn't make any sense! He's trying to brainwash you all into believing his elaborate prank, can't you see that?! Am I the only sane one here!" Anyone at casper high tbh: "Wes, I don't care."
Dash: “FENTON!” D: “I’m kinda busy right now, Dash,” - shoves observant into the floor - “these guys keep trying to get me to go to my ancient time dad’s deathday party. Which is a joke because I don’t think that guy has ever been alive, and like, Frostbite already told me they’re just trying to trick me into visiting so they don’t have to babysit Clockwork. I already visit like, every other week, how much more can they want from me, jeez.” - while he’s talking he uses his hand to freeze the observant’s head(? eye?) before shoving him back into the floor - “Sorry, what did you need?” Dash: “I was just gonna see if you wanted to come to football practice after school today. We’re going to the nasty burger after.” D: “Nasty burger you say? Deal. But I’m not into football, that’s more uncle Vlad’s thing, and besides, when he makes me play it with him he cheats every time >:( “ Kwan: “How about we just see how far you can throw a football? I bet it's like farther than like, five football fields!”  D: “It’s more than five but okay.”
MISC
J: “Uncle Vlad says you burned the monopoly board?” D: “He’s a businessman, Jazz, he doesn’t deserve to play monopoly.” J: “But dad loves monopoly :(“  D: “Only because Vlad does. Mom helped me burn it.” J: “She does hate monopoly.”
D: “No.” Vlad: “What do you mean, no? It’s only America’s favorite passtime!” D: “I don’t want to watch the Green Bay Packers.” Vlad: “No ghost training for one month.” D: “Where’s the remote, its football time.”
Elle: “Danny what do I do, he keeps wanting me to watch football with him.” D: “Tell him that he shouldn’t have kept the gene that hates football when he sampled me.”  Elle: “Y’know, that is kinda his fault now that I’m thinking about it.” D: “So true, lil sis, so true.”
F: “Great One! I am so glad you’ve visited!” D: “Yeah :) ! Sorry though, I just gotta ask, why do you call me Great One, again?” F: “You’re great, that’s why! Do you not think that you are great enough to be called that? :(“  D: “Oh, no, I just thought it was because I told Pariah to chill the heck out and he went back to bed.”  F: “That helped. You stopped the ‘hissyfit’ of the millennia.”  D: “That’s what the observants kept telling everyone until I stepped in, isn’t it.” F: “Indeed. I do not like the observants :( so I did not listen. No one did. That is another reason why you are so great.“

Dp x DC AU except it's Reformed Vlad.
How did he get reformed? Not important. But now he's Cool Uncle Vlad, Danny's Halfa mentor.
Somehow, again, not important, Danny and Co end up in Gotham.
Bruce immediately takes interest in the new meta vigilante team of Phantom, Pharaoh (going off the King Tuck episode), Spectre (Dani), and Backfire (Sam, referencing controlled burns to keep the environment healthy). (Whether or not you include Dan is up to you this is just my ramblings (I think he'd be backup if he's reformed)) and does some investigating.
He (obviously) finds at least a few of their civilian identities and comes to the conclusion that (based on their childhood) they were being mistreated by their supervillain/mad scientist parents.
Vlad, of course (being the petty bitch he is), does not take another obscenely wealthy billionaire investigating his mentee and his friends all that kindly.
Then, perhaps, Vlad and Bruce begin to fan the flames of love between them.

I have a DP au idea that gives Danny an honorary uncle.
During his mid teen just as summer break ended, Jack Fenton got a job as a employee in a general store (built in front of a haunted graveyard) with another teen (let's call him Dave Wilson) to earn money for college(Jack don't know where to go), while I don't know if Jack knows ghost exists at the time or not, Dave is a normal teen in this job to earn enough money to buy a cool car. While they are on their first night weekend shift, spooky things happen to both teenagers as things are floating and thrown at them and after getting away and becoming very sure that floating thing is real, decide to find a reason for that as they want to keep their job ( also Jack wants to study about that experience and learn about ghosts) learn how to sense ghost (Jack made a ghost radio with a compass taped to it, and Dave just got thing like salt chalk to draw circle to trap ghost (and it is easy to clean) and learn some minor magic to 'talk' with ghost about why they haunting the stores, and after everything been taken care of (turn out the graveyard having trouble with a demon, so Jack and Dave destroys the demon with a ectoblaster prototype and putting a cross (while reciting the bible in Latin (this event take place near summer break)) in the chest) Jack trusted Dave enough to consider him as his brother even while mile away in college with his friends ( Maddie and Vlad).
Jack didn't see Dave again until he noticed Dave in a grave yard in Amity Park as a groundskeeper. Jack are very excited to get his family to meet Dave so much that he introduced Dave as his honorary brother and uncle to his kids.
Dave is having a chill life in Amity Park until ghosts appeared a lot and having his life becoming weirder then usual like learning that his honorary nephew is a half ghost and the cause of the ghost portal opening ( Dave while understanding that Jack wants to know about ghosts, don't understand why build a ghost portal), and having to fight a ghost who look like a vampire for the honor to be Danny uncle.
More info for Dave Wilson.
He always carries a shovel as an emergency hitting weapon, some cross and bible, salt, iron, salt chalk (easy to clean), and a magic necklace that make him immune to possession.
The minor magic he knows is enchanting a weapon ( for example a shovel) to hit a ghost even while intangible, and making a drink taste better.
To help the drawer to imagine him he has a full beard and wears a groundskeeper suit even while meeting people with a cap. He is also below average height and thin to contrast Jack being huge and big.

Tom and Jack are brothers - mainly DPxMLB (can be DPxDCxMLB)
It was clear from the moment Jack was born that he was Gina’s son, no one could doubt that overzealous nature, and while Tom didn't have the same level of entustatsum as his mother and brother it didn't mean he wasn't an excitable person either. Truly Roland had no idea how he didn't die living with them, the man didn't realize how much he was like them nor really saw how much Jack would go on to be like him in some ways.
One thing was for certain the boys loved their parents, the Fenton luck and sanguine as well as the Dupain passion and vigor were ever-present in the household growing up. Gina loved her boys very much, they were the only reason she stuck in one place for so long. However, she was able to convince Roland to take them all over the U.S. and Europe.
Jack went on to have a passion for inventing and ghosts, both of which Roland looked down upon but Gina was his biggest supporter followed by Tom. Tom ended up enjoying baking with his father. (Jack tended to forget a meal or two when he got too into his work. So it worked out.)
Jack would move out (taking his mother’s maiden name) and go to college in Wisconsin and meet Vlad and Maddie and fall in love and all that! Tom though opens a bakery a few years of baking for some personal events and such, and meets Sabine who moved to Paris to go to school, they fall in love and she takes business courses to help better run the bakery. Roland does his…thing and he never approved of Jack’s hobbies either, “that's not what job a family man takes on” or something, he of course doesn't try to contact him. He gets to be a grumpy old man in (guilty) peace.
Tom and Jack have never missed anything, they're best friends and each other’s biggest supporters. Best man, holiday’s, etc. So of course they make sure their kids have plenty of meetings despite being an ocean away. They couldn't have been happier that their kids were so close in age, which meant they wouldn't struggle to connect.
It was quick to be seen none of the kids showed signs of the Dupain shape, oh well maybe they’d still get the strength? Or perhaps the Fenton luck would just be much stronger. To say where the kids got their size from was an understatement, and to say very amusing to their wives and mother.
Marinette loved her cousins and didn't like how it was only every so often she got to see them. And her aunt and uncle were very cool, and reminded her of Nonna Gina. It was fun to see Uncle Jack lift her papa up, he was the only person she’d ever seen who could pick up her papa.
Jazz and Danny loved the Dupain-Chengs, they seemed to help level their parents out and they actually set aside their ghost obsession to just be a family. Not to mention they made the best food, going to their home was the best, you never got attacked by the food!
Jazz, Marinette, and Danny were as thick as thieves as their dads were, they were a unit. Which meant Marinette had called Jazz and Danny after she had taken the earrings off, and Danny had called Marinette to tell her about how he was dealing with his powers after dying.
And the next time the Fenton’s came to the Dupain-Cheng’s maybe Marinette and Danny hugged a little longer and a little tighter than usual, and Jazz spent her time glued to the younger girl’s side.

Hey it's me again-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There you go.
Now, I wanted to ask you about an idea I had. What's your opinion about Vladimir and Briar relationship?
According to the bio she was created by great hemomancy powers. You could argue that she was created in a place similar to The Gray Apothecary, mabye Faris Noradi (The Lady of Blood) worked with the Black Rose? Her daughter (the Crimson Aristocrat) is in the group of... "fun times" of Vladimir, so they definetly know eachother, meaning he probably teached her how to bring back to life anyone she wanted. This was probably taken to the extreme by the lady (reminder that she is the one who brought back to life Sion). Aside from Xolaani, Vladimir is the greatest hemomancer on runeterra, so now Vladimir found himself with an artificial and indirect daughter created by his magic? (Also that funny interaction)
In your opinion Would he be the high on life dad annoyed by his suddently adopted "daughter" who found him after escaping prison, or the cool uncle who enjoyes going around with her "nephew" who amuses him? Knowing Vlad in the lore he would absolutely enjoy her company but probably would also treat her like a pet (he didn't care at all about her being imprisoned for who knows how long) so I prefer a more wholesome resolution overall.
You could make a comic with this idea, even in alt universe like the New Earthsteel one (even tho the prime universe would be the funniest one). This thing basically writes itself, and Vlad is one of my favorite champions so seeying him drawn by you would be the absolute best.
Have a nice day and a not-really-spooky-cuz-this-year-is-kind-of-cozy Halloween!
Tumblr media
I definitely see the connection, which is logical <3 Maybe I sure will add the mention of him, if I continue adding briar here and there.

Asleep In The Keep: A DP x BNHA fic
Summary: Danny lands in a strange new place
Word count: 1127
Chapter 3: Home
3/?
The portal didn’t lead him to Amity Park. The air felt different here… In Amity, the air itself felt heavy from all the ectoplasm that seeped into the very earth of the town. Here, while it still was heavy with something, it wasn’t the same almost tangy zest of Amity’s ectoplasm. It was more diluted, but still there under the surface.
The portal closed up like a ziplock bag, and the seam melded into the background, as if it was never there. Danny frantically clawed and ripped at the space that once could lead him home. He probably looked like a mad man as he desperately grasped at nothing. He could still feel it, just beyond, like an itch that was just below the skin.
Danny didn’t know how long he slashed at the empty space. He threw his arms over his head and hammered them down in the air in frustration. The alleyway he had landed in was bathed green from the light of his ‘scary eyes’ and they felt cold in his sockets. If the Fruitloop was there he would probably taunt and mock him for his temper.
His relationship with the old man had cooled over the years to a general dislike rather than outright hatred. They formed a truce after Dani (or Elle as she now liked to be called) almost got destabilized. Despite her starting out as a pseudo Danny, Vlad had begun to view her like an actual daughter, resolved to take care of her. Danny could respect the man for trying to change. After that, Vald became the uncle he could almost go to for his troubles. Almost. He was still a Fruitloop.
Danny ran his hands through his hair and took a deep breath in. He didn’t need to breathe while in his ghost form, but it was still a relaxing ritual. His eyes dimmed back to their constant glow, only lighting features of his own face than the alley. Frostbite had told him once before how fickle natural portals were. Time and space had to overlap in perfect conditions to form one, and they were never open for long, unless an outside force gave it enough energy. His parents' portal was a stretched out natural portal being pulled apart and held together by an abundance of ectoplasm.
One thing was for sure tonight. He wasn’t getting home.
Danny crossed his legs and floated above the ground, not wanting to touch the dark puddles that wetted the alley. He had no clue where he was. He never heard of a town with this level of ecto-radiation. Or it could just be that he was on a ley-line as those were known for natural portals and an abundance of ectoplasm.
Danny blew out a hollow sign as he righted himself to go fly and explore. He needed to find any landmarks or architecture that he could recognize, and you can’t get a good idea where you’re at by an alley. He could be in a different country for all he knew.
He flew above what he now knew to be a city. He kept himself invisible and intangible to conserve energy (since it was the natural state of ghosts) and stealth. He did not need to alert the GIW where he was.
The pollution wasn’t bad enough where there were plumes of smog in the air, but it wasn’t good enough to see the sky clearly. Ideally, Danny could get a sense of where he was with the stars, but knowing star locations and their hemispheres, and being able to tell where you're at in the world, are two different skills. Interconnected, yes, but different, nonetheless.
Flying around Danny couldn’t recognize any landmarks from other countries or domestic, so that was a bust. The only real clue were the neon billboards that had kanji in wild fonts that made him dizzy to look at. So he was in Japan, or a dense Japanese population (but he was pretty sure it was the former).
Ok. This was becoming a problem for tomorrow.
Despite being asleep? Dead? For only Clockwork knows how long, he was starting to get tired. Danny had a long day. There was too much to process, and even more to not think about. He needed to find shelter and sleep.
★
After a while, Danny was able to find an abandoned warehouse. No matter the country, trust a big city to have a few “forgotten” areas. Not forgotten to all though, a few clusters of people were scattered about. Some were close enough to signal different groups, while others were too far apart from anyone to announce partnership.
He wouldn’t take up space from them.
He floated above them to a rundown loft above the rafters. Due to the rotten ladder, no one was able to claim it, so Danny didn’t feel too guilty using it for the night.
The loft was more rundown than the rest of the warehouse, a decent sized hole welcomed in rain, and it had rotted and softened the floorboards. It was a wonder it was still together at all. As long as the beams stayed intact, Danny could make it work.
There was an old tarp outside, muddy and knotted together. Danny took it back to his soon to be nest and laid it best he could over the mostly intact floor beams. It formed a sorta hammock for him to sleep in. With more glow than he would’ve liked, Danny coated the tarp in frost to make it more durable for his soon to be restless sleep. Danny wasn’t worried about the support beams, despite the damage, he could tell they had a lot more life in them to last well over the night. Or morning now. He could see the wisps of dawn sneaking through the nature-made skylight. Not wanting future sun to be in his eyes, he shot a chuck of ice at it and covered that in ectoplasm for extra sun blocking abilities.
With his newly formed nest, Danny could now think about sleep…
Except he couldn’t. In the stillness of the morning, through the gentle snores of those below, Danny realized he couldn’t hear his own breathing.
This shouldn’t be surprising as he was still in his ghost form after all, but it was his ease at being in his ghost form that rattled him.
Was he really dead now? Fully this time?
After the accident, when he was in his ghost form for too long, he could feel his human half fidget. He felt comfortable in both forms yes, but his human half felt like Pjs while his ghost side felt like pants.
This felt too comfortable. Too natural.
He couldn’t feel his human half anymore.
