Looking a bit better a few days after big maintenance. The new plants are settling well it looks like, the stem plants are growing well. Can't wait to be back home after work and stare at my aquarium some more. I didn't get to do the last adaptions I made for shrimps yet, I got sick last weekend, so that's still on my to-do-list. Not sure yet if I'm going for Amano shrimp or neocaridina. I've had neocaridina before but without much luck. They're my favourite, though! So cute.
The water is a bit unclear cuz maintenance. Gotten rid of the Vallisneria because it was growing throughout the whole tank and taking up a lot of space. I like the textures of the other plants better. Got some new stemplants instead, hope they don't melt! The old sponge filter didn't work properly anymore so that's been replaced. A few more things to do this weekend. Want to still put mesh over the filter.
A few hours post water-change! Last Friday I spent some time picking out dead leaves and clipping off damaged ones. I still got some anubias in the back that need a few damaged leaves clipped, but I'll save that for next weekend.
Added some more plants cuz I never have enough of those. I added added a fern onto the woodpiece in the middle and an anubia in the front. The small grass looking plants in the foreground should make runners and start carpeting a bit, they should be able to do that despite there not being much light cuz of the floaty plants. Curious to see how they will progress (if they do not melt and die).
The corys are very busy this morning! They enjoyed the big waterchange I did on Friday and they felt like today was the right time to try and make some babies! One baby cory has grown up in my tank so far, of course I wouldn't mind if they manage to do it again. They put eggs in different places and there's quite a few plants, so hopefully that's a good start and they'll make it.
I'm not actively breeding corys, but if a baby or two hatch and survive in the community I'll be really pleased.
Love this tank and all its inhabitants, it brings me lots of joy, I didn't realise how much I missed it when I didn't have it around.
Post waterchange today! Stuck some moss to one of the shrimp hides to make it more green. I'll do the same for the other hide but I think I'll use a different kind of moss.
