CR Cool Down Episode 93

So, I have to say that the Cool Down series is quickly becoming my favorite part of my Beacon subscription. And the post-ep for episode 93 is my favorite episode, if only for the sheer chaos that is having Bells Hells AND the Crown Keepers a the same table.

Some of my favorite parts:

Taliesin offering to let Anjali sit on his lap, and Anjali asking for a pony like he was Santa Claus.

Aimee and Liam reaching for each other across the table as Liam implored "Mom, don't do bad things!"

Aabria giving Robbie shit over Dorian not being able to save his brother, which was the entire reason that he had left Bells Hells.

"The last thing Cyrus did was get a handie from Opal" *Robbie spittakes*

Matt's mention of all Champions being rallied to Ruidus to fight Predathos, hinting at not only the possibility of seeing Vex and Pike again in the final showdown, but also Scanlan and Yasha.

Liam admitting that he was shouting for Aimee to kill the rest of the Crown Keepers, proving that his blood lust/desire for a TPK from his time as a Candela GM has not been sated.

This map looks quite similar to an alternate timeline in which the Mighty Nein engaged in physical combat with Maggie the Haggie, or whatever her name was, the witch that cursed Veth. Matt shared the unused hag combat map on Twitter back in 2020. This map appears to include the same cabin used in this episode. Looks dope! Very witchy, very good.

This model is a tad oversized for a 1x1 base, but I like that. Gives the model a little extra table presence. Creature design certainly matches Matt’s description. 

Wraithy Spirit Thang Crown of Fangs #004 Geist

This model was utilized way back in early Campaign 2. The camp 2 party battled one such creature in Campaign 2 Episode 16. Definitely a groovy model that looks some sorta cross between an ink blot. GPU artifact, and pocket lint. I like it!

What else can be said for Campaign 3 Episode 36? I like Critical Role. And I learned on a recent trip that CR combat makes for a great “sleep on a plane ambient track”. Was able to take a good lil nap on a flight down to CA thanks to the relaxing hum of CR turn based combat. I’m behind by a few eps, but the podcast has helped me catch up.

my favorite episode of c2 is 86!! probably seems like an insane answer but i loved the drama and intensity of the cathedral and the imagery around yasha breaking free is one of my favorite moments in all of cr. we got our girl back!

some honorable mentions that come to mind are: 69 (first ep I watched live!), 74, 89 (can you tell yasha is my favorite?) and 92/93

is anyone else concerned about how yasha didn't say ANYTHING during her first trip to uthodurn... idk it just seemed like the rest of the mighty nein forgot that she hadn't been there to meet reani and to learn about this incredible society of elves and dwarves and to try black moss cupcakes?? and maybe ashley didn't speak up because she felt like she didn't know enough about the setting or the city to interject but honestly that's HEARTBREAKING.

because imagine all your friends have been somewhere together and have another person there that they all adore, and they don't even go to the trouble of letting you in on the inside jokes or favorite locations or engage you at all. because you weren't a part of that experience. it makes you feel like the last one, like the weak link, like 'am i really a part of this group if i wasn't there?'

i'm just saying ENGAGE YASHA SHE'S SHY and she may have missed a lot but it wasn't in her control. let her open up and help her catch up on the time she missed PLEASE
