@resilientcreativespodcast is a project that began to develop in my mind during the winter of 2019. I was at a new fork in the road with my creativity after having to backtrack and find rediscover my truth. Grief, concussion & doubt circled through my being. I had been in similar states in the past but something was different this time. My relationship with my practice was strong enough to feel a new sense of pleasure while riding through the waves of the decaying process. For the first time I knew I was in a temporary state. I sensed an unnamed process unfolding and I knew I wasn't alone in this process. I began to talk to others who had committed themselves to path of being an artist. I found a few of these tanks🎨 This design was inspired by my work with Waichay Studio in Courtenay BC. After being a student for a few years they asked me to help out with their youth screen printing program two years ago. Having participated in the program since it's pilot stage. I witnessed the studio come to life through its creators exploring possibilities. Sharing my own practice with others as they found their own creative spark was a very rewarding experience. It helped me see that anything is possible with a creative mind set. Thank you for all the support in clearing out the Fern Leggings this week (there are still few mediums left). My only regret in life is that I didn't see/ allow myself to be an artist sooner. I went to an artist talk by Farheen Haq sat night. I was so inspired by the grace in which she brought forth her femininity into her work. I have been on a journey of accepting & allowing my feminine nature to rise in my life & work. I feel that I was taught at a young age that the masculine way of being was the best way to have success. This unlearning has been greatly rewarded time and time again. Yet still I battle with old patterns. My art practice has been a big part of this process as it is the balm to the harshness of the forced masculine ways of being in my journey. I was so grateful to meet a women who embodies what I aspire to be. A great reminder that we don't have to "do" anything in particular to inspire the world around us.
