Okay listen I've seen a few people criticizing Ed for still feeling 'unlovable' despite Izzy's confession, but like, of course that means nothing to him?

Ed is afraid no one can love Edward. All of him. The parts of him that aren't all myth, the parts of a real and complex person who loves satin and fine dining and lavender soap and goofy outsider artists. The parts of him that aren't retold in hushed, awed voices. Izzy literally said to his face that he loves Blackbeard and hates Edward. That he hates all the softness and comfort and frippery and care and appreciation. That he wanted back the man who laughed while people burned. (And later realized that was a Huge Mistake but that's beside this point.) So when Izzy says "I have... love for you," what Ed hears is just a reaffirmation that he loves Blackbeard -- the myth up on the pedestal, the terror of the seas, the Kraken. The monster with no use for fine things like love.

And Edward is still unloved, because Edward is not worthy of fine things.

(yes he is, but he was not in a place to hear that and especially not from Izzy.)

Every like. Five years. I am compelled to write a story in second-person. And I have no idea why. I don't set out to write a story in second-person, I just start on a story and second-person feels right.

It's not like it's ever reader-insert or y/n fics either, where that would make sense, no it's always 'you' as a specific character.

I don't understand my brain.

Started thinking about The Lost Room again and now imagining a hypothetical season 2 where the Weasel

- helps Joe and Jen deal with the Legion traitor, bc they need the backup and he wants his Pen back

- realizes Joe is an Object now, possibly the Prime Object he's been obsessed with (possibly by watching him get hit with the Pen and nothing happens)

- has his own religious awakening and joins the good guys full time as an overeager attack dog

- gets relegated to babysitting duty half the time bc that's the funniest thing to assign to an ex-mobster with a superweapon

- realizes Anna is actually a really smart kid and starts tutoring her since he used to be a teacher and she can't exactly go to school

- Does Not Get Along with Wally (but they have an uneasy truce on Joe's behalf)

Started watching Season 3, very belatedly.

...This writing is weird. I like some of the bigger elements like the time hole but everyone is... off.

I read about the Opportunity rover again and now I'm imagining Luther (also alone on an alien surface for so much longer than he was supposed to be, and probably wishes someone had sent him music and messages) and Diego (very emotional about robots) just sobbing on each others' shoulders at the news

Spicy/Savory/Sweet: My body and teeth hate it but I lean towards sweet 9 times out of 10, although a mix is always great. Chamoy candies, honey-glazed meat dishes, etc.

Relationship Status: Long-term romantic relationship with my boyfriend, been living together for the past couple years.

Current Obsessions: The Lost Room, a criminally underrated 2006 SciFi Original miniseries about ordinary objects that do extraordinary things but also screw up the lives of anyone who interacts with them. Go watch it it's genuinely fantastic imo
