You honestly couldn’t be bothered to remember the boy’s name when you had a plastic cup of White Wyvern in your hand. It was something dumb, you remember that. Cognac, Corsac…?

“Y/n?” CarMax asked, trying to regain your attention. “You gonna cheer me on, sugar?”

“Huh? Oh- yeah, yeah,” you grinned, taking another sip of your drink. “I’ll get all decked out in red ‘n gold, jus’ for you.”

Tarmac grinned back and tightened his grip on your hip, tugging you a bit closer. “Maybe I oughtta give you my spare jersey to wear to the game then, huh? Wouldn’t you like to have my name across your back, little badger?”

(You shrugged noncommittally at that, not quite sure how to express to Shellac that literally no one wants the name Cornsack written across the back of their shirt.)

“Oh, I see. You want me to be your good luck charm, huh?” You teased, resting a hand on Callback’s forearm.

Rickrack smirked and opened his mouth to reply when a heavy hand clapped down on his shoulder from behind.

“McLaggen. You’ve got two seconds to get your hands off my partner before I cut them off.”

Trashbag paled, hurriedly snatching his hands back and holding them up in surrender as he whirled around to face the newcomer. “Woah, woah- calm down, Nott,” he chuckled nervously. “We were just talking. No harm, no foul.”

Theodore stared back at him with an unamused, dead-eyed expression.

Hackeysack swallowed nervously. “Uh…yeah. Yeah. Well, I uh…I think I’m gonna get going now, Y/n. See ya at the game.”

Theo interrupted you before you could even respond. “I assure you, they won’t.”

And with that, Theodore wrapped an arm tightly around your shoulders and dragged you away from Radioshack.

Whatever reaction Theodore was expecting you to have to those threatening words, you drunkenly giggling and kissing the tip of his nose was not one of them.

“You’re so pretty when you’re jelly, baby,” you gave him a dopey grin, reaching out to fix his rumpled shirt collar and smooth your hands across his chest. “You’re always so pretty.”

His heart melted and he let go of your jaw with a sigh, running his fingers through your hair and leaning forward to kiss your forehead. “Merlin- what am I going to do with you, love?”

“Cuddle me?” You asked hopefully, a sweet pout on your face.

Theodore whined. “Shit, darlin’- I’m trying to be mad at you right now.”

“But cuddles, Teddybear!” You pouted further, tossing your arms over his shoulders to pull him into a hug. “Why would you wanna be mad when cuddles are an option?”

“I guess I can’t argue with that logic.” He conceded slowly, resting both hands on your waist and rubbing small circles into your sides with his thumbs. “Alright, fine. We can cuddle.”

You grin proudly at your incredible drunken convincing skills, disentangling yourself from your boyfriend to clamber onto his bed. “C’mon!”

“Hold on, hold on,” he laughed. “I need to find you something to sleep in that isn’t your party clothes, love. Here,” he tossed something at you as he finished digging through his dresser.

You caught the item, unfolding it to reveal his Slytherin quidditch team captain jersey, complete with NOTT written out in a big bold font. You snorted and glanced up at him.

He gave you an innocent smile as he stripped out of his own clothes and climbed under the covers next to you. You rolled your eyes fondly, changing into his jersey and lying down beside him.

“Goodnight, darling,” he murmured against the top of your head as he wrapped his arms around you.

You grinned into his chest. “G’night, Teddybear.”

You fell asleep cuddling Theo, in Theo’s bed, in Theo’s clothes, with Theo’s name written across your back. And as long as you didn’t think too hard about how your boyfriend was absolutely going to kill Hazmat McLovin tomorrow, then all was quite well in the Slytherin dorms that night.

im not really that deep into his character but i think he'd be quite interested in learning sign language to show his dedication to you.

of course , it takes time and patience. And he's willing to have that for your sake , and so he can help you communicate with others , and you feel really flattered by it. he's taking online classes , he's watching videos about it.

it starts appearing on his fyp constantly and you'd see him trying out the word/sentence it'd be so cute.

i believe that during the process of his learning he'd give you a small notebook so you write your answers during you convo (duh) and he'd help you up with any activitey that needs talking.

He'd encourage you to share your ideas , whether w sign language or writing because he wants to make sure you feel like a normal person who is able to express themselves normally.

trying to order some food ? he memorises your favourites , with detail. someone messed your order (let's imagine you just pointed at the option and that he wasn't there) i feel like he'd be ready to throw hands.

First of all he does NOT hesitate to start learning sign language , he has too much time to spare so he spends it trying to learn how to communicate with you , no matter the way.

So im picturing this , videocalling you to have some convos as he tells you about his day and asks you tell him back and he tries to understand as a form of practice.

Well....i would say , at first , when you're not really close i don't think he'd pay any attention to it and he would be slightly irritated when you try to say something in sign language or by gesture and he doesn't understand (sorry if ooc)

He'd treat you like any other side girl he had , but slowly and over time , he'd grow interested in you and how you talk. If you guys grow closer , he would probably get out of his way to try and learn sign language for your sake and try to understand you a little further.

And let me tell you , it's one hell of a slow burn

But eventually , if you're really important to him , if you're diffrent , he's willing to give it some extra effort so he can listen to you ramble with that adorable smile on your face.

Daya scratches the back of her neck, lips pursing thoughtfully, “Can I bring my fiance?”

“Sure! It’ll be a great time for you all to finally meet my spouse as well.”

Kabru is first to respond, a despondent, broken, “wh-what…?” croaking out.

“You’re married?” Rin mutters, covering her twitchy mouth with a gloved hand and brows furrowing. If none of them knew her, they might think she was disgusted by the information.

Holm nods, “I never found the right time to bring it up, but now is perfect!”

“Married…” Kabru’s horrified, he had zero idea Holm was a taken man -- and he’d been meeting with the gnome’s sister often! Did she have no clue either? They weren’t the closest siblings, after all…

“See you all for dinner then?” Holm bypasses the man’s internal struggle completely.

Rin, still with elation masked as indignation, nods rapidly, “We’ll be there!”

“Married,” Kabru’s still pouting by the time he and Rin arrive at Holm’s new residence, “And I had no clue…”

“He hardly minds,” Rin rolls her eyes, a kinder lilt overtaking her tone, “Besides, nobody else knew.”

Sighing wistfully, Kabru doesn’t expect her to understand, only continuing to mope.

“You’re probably the only one who brought a gift, so at least take that as a win,” Rin grumbles, annoyed by his angst, and knocks on the door.

Holm is not who greets them at the door, but rather a total stranger who already knows their names, “You must be Rin and Kabru! Welcome in, I’m glad you both could make it!”

Kabru’s terror only increases at the realization you know him by description, and he cannot even guess as to what your name is.

“I should die…” he whispers.

“Huh?” your eyes widen.

“Kabru! Rin!” Holm saddles up beside you, a hand finding the base of your spine while the other outstretches to accept his leader’s cradled gift, “You didn’t have to bring anything!”

“I would’ve felt terrible,” Kabru shakes his head, smile soft yet disarming.

You take it that you must’ve just misheard the nice man, then…

“You know,” Mickbell calls from where he’s lounging in Kuro’s lap on your couch, “I never would’ve taken you as the type for a serious relationship.”

Daya has half a mind to whack the man, and she probably would have if her own fiance hadn’t barked a laugh in approval. Instead, she swats him in the chest with a quiet grumble to be nice.

“Why wouldn’t I be?” if it weren’t for his gentle face, one could take the question as offended.

“You’re too laid-back…” Kuro huffs agreement to Mickbell’s point, “I would’ve thought a married man is more intense.”

“I don’t think that’s necessarily true,” Holm thankfully takes the jab with humor, “I’m seventy-six, not forty.”

My dad surprised me with first row center tickets last night and I’ve been begging him to see the show for so long I was sooo freaking excited

I was literally grinning ear to ear through the entire thing. Easily makes my top three best things I’ve ever been to (Taylor swift concert, snl barricades are the other two lol).

This was my first time sitting front row at professional theater and it was so worth it. Its literally magical and I hope everyone gets to experience it at some point

- colin was so fucking funny as mckinley I was literally dying and turn it off was so good. I tried to squint through the darkness to see the quick change but I couldn’t lol, guess that one video is the only way ill ever see them actually doing it lol

- baptize me was the best and funniest thing I’ve seen in a long long time. the entire audience was dying laughing the entire time. and the detail of naba’s shirt being wet after the gets baptized. wonderful

“I wasn’t aware that I had another option,” You tease as you lean against the back of the sofa, pulling for gaze up from your sketching to smile at your husband.

You and Anthony had been married for just over seven months and you were still just as in love with Anthony as you had been on the day of your wedding. Possibly even more so.

Anthony shakes his head, “Well you can’t choose someone else but a gentleman always asks.”

Benedict groaned loudly. “If I knew you were both going to be so moony I would have never agreed to this visit.”

Benedict’s clear and vocal disgust was not enough to damper your mood, something that only annoyed Ben further.

“I am going up to my room, and I won’t be leaving it until this damned holiday is over,” Benedict grumbles as he shuts his sketchbook with a sharp clap before exiting the room briskly.

“And please, keep it down, there are other people living in this house,” Benedict adds from the doorway. Refusing to even turn around to address the couple before disappearing up the stairs.

“You’re evil, Anthony Bridgerton,” You chastise your husband. 

“It’s our first Valentine’s Day together, I don’t know what he expected,” Anthony scoffs, disregarding his brother.

“Besides, he’ll find someone soon enough, and he’ll stop bothering us,” He adds.

“I like when Ben visits us,” You protest with a shrug. “I like it when any of our families visit.”

“I thought you liked it when I didn’t keep my hands to myself,” He murmurs lowly, his lips nearly brushing the shell of her ear as his hand trailed up her thigh, pulling at the hem of her skirts as he turned his attentions solely onto his wife.

“Why can’t it be both?” You ask with a coy smile as you turn to face him fully.

And it was a very productive Valentine’s day indeed.

The sun was just beginning to rise over Tokyo, casting a warm glow over the city. Inside Seirin High School's gymnasium, a buzz of excitement filled the air. Today was a special day—Kagami Taiga's birthday—and his teammates had planned a surprise celebration to show their appreciation for their star player.

Kuroko Tetsuya, invisible as ever, was the mastermind behind the plan. He'd enlisted the help of the entire team and a few special guests from rival schools to ensure that this birthday would be one Kagami would never forget.

As Kagami walked to school, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was up. The usually bustling streets seemed quieter than usual, and there was a strange sense of anticipation in the air. When he reached the gym, he was greeted by the sight of a darkened room.

"Hello? Anyone here?" Kagami called out, his voice echoing in the empty space.

Suddenly, the lights flicked on, and the entire Seirin team, along with Kise, Midorima, Aomine, Murasakibara, Akashi, and his girlfriend Luna, jumped out from behind the bleachers.

"Surprise!" they shouted in unison.

Kagami's eyes widened in shock. "What the—?!"

Hyuuga Junpei stepped forward, a grin on his face. "Happy birthday, Kagami! We wanted to do something special for you."

Kagami's initial shock gave way to a wide smile. "You guys... This is awesome!"

Riko Aida, the team's coach, handed Kagami a basketball-themed cake, complete with miniature figurines of each team member. "We figured a basketball cake would be perfect for our ace," she said with a wink.

As Kagami blew out the candles, his teammates cheered and clapped. The gym was soon filled with laughter and chatter as everyone dug into the cake and exchanged stories about their favourite moments with Kagami.

Y/N, who had been waiting patiently for the right moment, approached Kagami with a small, neatly wrapped gift. "Happy birthday, Taiga," she said softly, her cheeks flushed.

Kagami took the gift, his heart swelling with affection. "Thanks, Y/N. You being here is the best present I could ask for."

He unwrapped the gift to find a sleek, custom-made basketball jersey with his name and number on it, along with a heartfelt note from Y/N. He looked up at her, eyes shining. "This is amazing. I love it."

Y/N smiled, her eyes twinkling with happiness. "I'm glad you like it. I thought it would be perfect for our next game."

After the cake, it was time for some friendly competition. Kise, always up for a challenge, suggested a three-point contest. "Let's see if the birthday boy can beat me!"

Kagami smirked. "You're on, Kise!"

The contest was fierce, with Kise and Kagami going head-to-head in a display of impressive shooting skills. In the end, Kagami emerged victorious, much to the delight of his teammates.

"Looks like you've still got it, Kagami," Aomine said, clapping him on the back.

As the celebration continued, Kagami took a moment to step back and look around at his friends and his girlfriend. Despite their differences and rivalries, they had all come together to make his day special. It was a reminder of how far they'd all come and how much they meant to each other.

Kuroko approached him, a small smile on his face. "Happy birthday, Kagami-kun. We're all here because we care about you."

Kagami felt a lump in his throat. "Thanks, Kuroko. This really means a lot."

As the sun set and the celebration wound down, Kagami and Y/N found themselves alone in the gym. They sat on the bleachers, holding hands and enjoying the quiet moment together.

"Today was really special," Kagami said, his voice soft. "And having you here made it even better."

Y/N leaned her head on his shoulder, sighing contentedly. "I'm glad. You deserve all the happiness in the world, Taiga."

Kagami turned to look at her, his eyes full of love. "I don't know what I did to deserve you, but I'm grateful every day."

They shared a tender kiss, the gym now silent except for the sound of their hearts beating in unison. As they snuggled together, Kagami knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, he had the support and love of his friends and the girl who meant everything to him.

"Alright, everyone!" Kagami called out in his mind, raising his fist in the air. "Let's keep pushing forward and give it our all! Together, we can achieve anything!"

The gym erupted in cheers in his imagination, and Kagami knew that with friends and a love like Y/N by his side, there was nothing he couldn't achieve.

So willow is just some 7ft tall forest woman idk how she got there I haven't gotten that far yet. She lives alone and has for as long as she can remember and can't speak English nor really communicate in general due to the fact that she never needed to (also her vocal chords are blocked by the mushroom thing I'll get to in a min so she can't make sound in the first place) but she is still very clever. In the human au I made with my friend she went to like Oxford or Cambridge or smth idk but ANYWAYS thing with willow is she is immortal BUT she has a disease that causes mushrooms to grow in and on her body, which will one day kill her. She has a few hundred years before this happens tho so she's fine for now since she's only in the early stages but for now it causes pain and also means that she is blind in her right eye since a mushroom grew there. But anyways willow is very jumpy and timid like she is CONSTANTLY anxious. She is pretty lonely and also loves snails because they are the onely things she could pick up and take around with her that wouldn't run away or bite her. She is also not very strong because she doesn't have the guts to kill anything and eat it so survives off of nuts and berries meaning she's kinda malnourished

SECONDLY termite so termite is less fleshed out because it hasn't existed for as long (I've had willow for YEARS) but it is this like 4"10 creature thing. It has roughly the intelligence level of a border collie and has also, like willow, lived alone it's whole life. It's also like fucking rabid it survives solely off of meat and could kill a village in cold blood. Now you might be wondering "how it's like 8 years old" WELL it can kinda transform into this much stronger being if it's trying to kill smth big. I have a drawing of this but I haven't posted it I will when I'm finished :3 but in this form it has quadriplegic legs and claws and spidery legs on its back which it uses to tear apart prey plus a tail with a spike on the end which it can stab things with. Like it is fucking terrifying. Also the lil green thing gleeb is a weird lil alien thing termite adopted :3 because termite saw it and was like "hold on a second that thing doesn't look edible and also doesn't look like it's from earth. Twinningggg mine now bitch" and adopted it. Gleeb isn't very intelligent. It can recognise termite and follow it around but other than that it kinda just exists and doesn't do much.

So termite and willow do meet eachother at some point because termite was injured or smth I haven't decided that yet and willow was like "shit something that isn't a small mammal or an insect this is groundbreaking" and took it in. They are cutie patooties :3 neither of them really know how to deal with other beings so their relationship is kinda unnatural but they like eachother. But like for example termite would bite willow affectionately and then nearly bite her arm off. It doesn't help that neither of them can really communicate as termite just isn't intelligent enough to really and willow can't speak at all but a lot of how they communicate is through clapping and other things like that. In the aforementioned human au willow adopts termite and termite has some kind of learning disability that I will research and name ✨later✨.

The thing is willow and termite have such good potential for angst because willow will end up succumbing to the mushroom disease and termite will have no idea why its only carer is dying and isn't able to do anything about it but watch her slowly waste away. Y'all watched ep1 of sweet tooth??? Or when the wind blows??? Yea that kinda thing. And termite would likely just sit next to willows body like a dog sitting near it's owners grave waiting for her to wake up. But you know what we can ignore that and just look at the sweet nice family fluff parts :3

As for willow and termites environment uhm uh. Minecraft. Like they literally live in the world of minecraft. Termite got it's clothes through Minecraft achievements.

And the idea that ace people are assumed to be against sex actually made me laugh out loud. I'm working on my doctorate and actually, on college campuses? I've heard from professors - not students, professors, adults old enough to have college-age kids - that ace people have sex at the same rate as straights but they need more foreplay, ace people just need more time to get to know you but after that they're sexually indistinguishable from heterosexuals, that asexuality isn't real, that asexuality is an internet label people use instead of admitting that they can't get laid, and my least favorite, that any man who says he's asexual is actually an incel/that asexuality is another term for incels and femcels. Then you hop online and the internet goes, "Ace people love sex! Ace people love kink! Ace people have just as much sexual attraction as other people! You'r'e valid if you're ace and fuck/do kink/are attracted to everyone!" and if there's positivity for people who are ace who aren't into sex, I've yet to see it. Hell, being not into sex gets you labeled "repulsed", like you're retreating from it the way the Wicked Witch of the West would from water and not just not into it. That happened even in OTNF's own comment section, and these are not uneducated people when it comes to queerness, we've just normalized that sex is a part of everyone's identity so much that even if you're asexual, it's weird and must be a repulsion thing if you're not into it. "Uh actually everyone assumes [__] so there's no need for positivity for [__]" fucking where?! Where are all these people who assume being asexual = not wanting sex?

For the record, I got my undergrad at two different universities due to a change of major, got my master's at another, and am getting my doctorate at a fourth, all in four different US states. One was in the Northeast, one was in the South, one was in the Midwest and now I'm on the West Coast. And I have never encountered people who assume trans men are manly or that asexual people don't have sex.

I have encountered sex negative asexuals, people who get so upset they leave the room if you make a joke involving them and sex, who interrupt the professor mid-lecture to say, "Ace people have sex!", though. That's how deeply this is ingrained in some people's minds, they will say it even when it does not apply to them, even when it's the opposite of themselves, so they can make sure they are Educating The Cishetallos and, more importantly, then share the moment they had to do so with their progressive friends for brownie points/in order to be seen as One Of The Good Queers who educates others.

As for the weird thing in the troll ask pretending anyone who talks about their lived experience believes in a conspiracy... do yourself a favor and get help bringing up your literacy before you take the SAT/ACT, kid. Not only is your trolling shit but you don't understand what the word conspiracy means. Someone saying, "[insert thing here] happened to me" is not a conspiracy and this is why your English teachers gave you C's - to get you out of their classroom and make your lack of comprehension someone else's problem.

In the event this wasn't a troll but was actually what you read, please get two tutors and possibly a screening for any latent anxiety or mental illnesses that would explain how you read people venting about shitty life experiences and thought they believed there was a conspiracy of some kind going on. Because that's the kind of making shit up out of thin air my dad, who has diagnosed Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Paranoid Personality Disorder, would do, and it's not a great sign if you read people going, "the people around me are shitty about this" and jumped to "the people who sent those asks are saying there's a conspiracy theory against them and I am the one sole person who can see the truth here!"

Men of Arda

Can we talk about this? The way my man clapped, it slapped everyone in the 10-mile radius. He's a scrawny man who's lost almost everything but his sass.

This is what I love about Tolkien's Men, they are in a world they do not belong in but they love it. The love power, riches, conquering, kindness.

Aragorn loved Arwen, even when there was no hope. He fought for her sake not to have her but to save the world she lived in.

Andreth loved Aegnor despite her bitterness. She loved someone beyond her mortal life. And still came to be known as a wise woman. She lived a long life for love that everyone deemed to be greater than her entirety and the loss of that greater-than-life love. Yet, Andreth loved the world enough to debate the King of Nargothrond.

Men fought the battles of Arda, despite not being the ones behind their cause. They did not destroy the lamps or the trees, they did not craft the Silmarils or the rings but Men held the courage to stand for a cause. To hold the desire for the world and its possessions.

Even the Easterlings, who fought for the dark lords did so for the small comfort that the world offered them.

Huor and Hurin sacrificed themselves for a cause their lives would never remain to see. Hurin even mentions this when talking to Turgon.

"‘Lord, we are but mortal Men, and unlike the Eldar. They may endure for long years awaiting battle with their enemies in some far distant day; but for us the time is short, and our hope and strength soon wither" (The Silmarillion)

Men in their true essence are brave even in their treachery. Maybe Elves are kind and knowledgeable and maybe Tolkien loved them greater but Men are endearing in their love for anything and everything.

And this line sums up Men for me-

"But the Men of Dor-lómin held the rearguard, as Húrin and Huor desired; for they did not wish in their hearts to leave the Northlands, and if they could not win back to their homes, there they would stand to the end." (The Silmarillion)

Even the delights of Gondolin could not fulfill what men sought. Makes me wonder if Numenorians ever sought immortality or if it was perhaps something closer to their angst for what lay ahead in their journey.

Did the Numenorians unknowingly seek the fate after death only to be misled by Sauron?

And to end with my favorite from Morgoth's Ring-

"For the hearts of true Men uprise in joy to behold the true likeness of the First-born, their elder kindred; and this joy nothing evil can counterfeit" (Morgoth's Ring)

Elves are hot and dreamy but Men are cutie patooties in Arda. The Fingolfin to Feanor (side-eying elves for all those names).
