and also. my whole life has been shaped by transphobia so i will not take kindly to it in my blog, no matter how it presents itself. in other words, even if i call myself a transexual man, i am not and will never be passive to transmedicalism

the conversation that's been happening on twitter and youtube about abigail thorn's stance on gender dysphoria as a diagnosis (i.e. that it's a general term made by cis doctors and is used to gatekeep gender-related healthcare from trans people while the same treatments are given to cis people without the gatekeeping, and because of that, the trans-only nature of gender dysphoria as a diagnosis is a category error that shouldn't exist in any healthcare system) is fucking wild.
because all of the same hypersensitive types of people who absolutely tore natalie wynn to shreds over perceived transmedicalism are suddenly really really cool with transmedicalism if it means they get to scream at a prominent trans woman they already don't like.

tw: transphobic/transmedicalist nonsense
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and here we have an excellent example of a trans person spouting terf rhetoric bc the only way this argument makes sense is if you don’t believe in the validity of trans people who haven’t received/don’t want surgery (i.e. are a shitty transmedicalist).
they’re never gonna pick you, sweetie! they’d kill you too in an instant!

Cw: discussion of transphobia, specifically transmed rhetoric
Soooo I've seen a lot of posts lately addressing the fact that people have started to shy away from terms such as "boobs", "dick" and the sorts in regard to trans people and that "AGAB" is slapped in places where it really shouldn't and that it's really just creating the gender binary all over and you're right, but ya know why?
Tumblr media
Well, this is technically just a theory based off of my own experience as a trans person who stumbled upon the community at the hight of transmedicalism, but basically it was a running theme in terms of calling out "fakers" that:
"A trans man would never describe himself as having boobs. You should feel dysphoria at that. You're clearly not actually trans."
Personally, I grew scared to use the word and still feel uncomfortable using it, not because of the word itself, but the instilled fear that using it will take away the validity of my experience. That it'll make other people look at me and decide that my identity doesn't belong to me
I'm assuming that the fear of mentioning "gendered traits" has resulted as a mix of this and also a misplaced attempt at being accommodating and considerate. This message was extremely widely repeated, at least in certain corners of the internet and people looking for information would stumble upon this and listen, because the people speaking would present themselves as voices of the trans community
That being said, I do still think there's times where saying stuff about your AGAB, if you want to provide that contect to an experience. If I was to share my experience with misogyny, I'd obviously want to provide the context that I'm someone usually perceived as female by society. The AGAB can provide useful context to how society perceives you and therefore how they treat you, but obviously beyond that it doesn't quite suit the purpose it gets applied to

just realized I never made an intro post for this blog so hello hello friends! 💞🫶
I go by many names, but you can call me lee! this blog is for my selfshipping content. I post a variety of different content, both SFW and NSFW, and I do post problematic fiction (and believe that everyone has the right to do the same), but all of it is tagged, so it is avoidable. if you don't like my content, that's okay! simply close this blog or block me. everything I discuss here is fictional and if you condone any dead dove topics in real life, block me.
I'm a xie lian (tgcf) fictive, and I occasionally refer to canon xie lian in first person. I'm in a traumagenic system but I support endogenic systems.
the f/o that I will talk about 95% of the time is hua cheng (I have a couple others that I am not comfortable sharing publically for anonymity reasons). please do not follow if you post about him in a romantic/sexual tone.
DDDNE/potentially triggering topics will be tagged (see taglist below). dead dove topics I will talk about frequently include noncon, stalking, kidnapping, etc. also I am exclusively sub so pretty much all of my NSFW imagines will read as sub reader :'D
I'm not super picky about my DNI. TERFs/radfem and any other kind of bigot can fuck off, pro-transID/radqueer do not follow. Minors are free to interact with my SFW posts, NOT my NSFW posts. You don't even have to be explicitly pro/comship to follow, I just ask that you be respectful.
Tumblr media
Taglist and extra info below the cut:
For clarification, I support all of the following:
- pro/comship, anti-harassment, anti-censorship, etc.
- endogenic systems and syscourse-neutral systems
- anti-contact paraphiles
I do NOT support the following:
- pro-contact paraphiles/radqueer
- pro transID
- radfems, TERFs, anti-sex work, etc.
- transmedicalism and exclusion of non-harmful queer identities (by harmful, I mean identities which actively and objectively hurt or intend to hurt others [ie. pro-contact MAPs], or identities that appropriate topics or identities that you do not have inherent experience with or feel the real-world consequences of [ie. transracial or transdisabled identities].)
- heavily anti-endogenic systems/supporters
Taglist
feel free to hide/block any tags that make you uncomfortable! tumblr has that wonderful feature for a reason! /gen

"It seems like they won't be happy until gender is abolished entirely and their handing out estrogen and trans flag thigh-highs in fucking vending machines." I want trans flag thigh highs in vending machines. Fuck you op of that post. I'm a FREAK and respectability politics won't save you
Fuck vending machines they should be free

This is your daily reminder that Bitter Betty, previously known as Sara Andrews and who has recently been announced as cast on Dragula season 4 is a trans medicalist, does not recognize non-binary people as trans, and has compared they/them and neopronouns to essentially being a transphobe.

Here’s the thing.
Like, I get it. I really do. Transmeds are mostly trans people, usually transmascs, with crippling dysphoria and deeply rooted self esteem issues they can only manage to address by watering down transness (including their transness) to make it more palatable to cis people and cisnormative society. Their desperate clinging to biological essentialism (”Okay, so maybe sex doesn’t directly equal gender, but brain sex and/or the mental illness of gender dysphoria does.”) is rooted primarily in a desire to avoid transphobia. Transmeds want access to healthcare, and healthcare for trans people is notoriously and unnecessarily difficult if not impossible to access. Transmeds want to be treated respectfully and fairly, and transphobia is not only rampant but deeply rooted and systemic. Transmeds see transphobes blame the “bad” trans people for these issues, the most egregious in terms of violating cisheteronormative ideals, and they think that cutting out those people from the definition of transness will save them.
I remember when some of us thought like that. Not a lot of us, not really at the level of most people who fall into that hole, but we know what it’s like. When you’re trans, especially if you’re young and in a transphobic environment, the odds are stacked against you. The world is hostile, and cruel, and you can only handle so much. You just want respect. You just want relief. The idea that there’s just this one culprit, this one invader of your community, who you can attack and defeat and then somehow acquire the resources you’re desperate for? Of course it’s tempting.
You face oppression, and here are your oppressors, telling you they’ll stop if you just do this one thing, if you just trample this one group, if you just manage to climb over them and out of the oppression pit. Here’s transphobes saying, “The reason I’m transphobic is this,” and they’re talking about neopronouns or xenogenders or gender nonconforming trans people or trans people who are “just being trans for fun” or trans people who “shove it in their face” or trans people who are too queer or any other number of things. Here’s someone who is vulnerable, oppressed, exhausted, and desperate to escape their oppression. The result? You believe them. You go for the scapegoat. Then, suddenly, you’re radicalized. You’re shifting the goalposts in the hope that it’ll be enough, that it’ll help someone, that it’ll finally make them see you as a human being.
It won’t. It doesn’t. Transphobia obviously still exists when you erase the trans people that make transphobes the most angry, because transphobes aren’t honest or transparent, and they aren’t just angry at the “bad” trans people. Transphobes have been oppressing trans people for longer than the concept of trans people was established in the way it is today, and they’re going to keep doing it in whatever way they can. The reason transphobes pin their transphobia on “the bad ones” is because it diverts the attention away from the harm they’re doing to all trans people. It’s a justification that makes no logical sense, because if they really were just transphobic towards those specific trans people then they wouldn’t be perpetuating systemic and interpersonal transphobia against all trans people. It only exists to distract from the real perpetrators and redirect the attention and ire of exhausted and oppressed trans people.
Knowing this has been healing for us. Learning and understanding this base concept of scapegoating and crab mentality allowed us to form a relationship with gender and oppression and the world at large that was much healthier than it used to be. Still, every time we are confronted with transmeds who are absolutely furious with us for being what they believe to be the root of transphobia and serious transphobically motivated issues, we can’t help but feel that pain flare up again. Some of us remember having been that transmed. Some of us remember how sad and angry we were, how much it hurt and how desperate we were to be happy and comfortable in ourselves.
If you happen to be reading this, and you consider yourself a transmedicalist, I hope you know that we don’t hate you. Not you, as a person. We hate what transphobes have done to you, and to us. We hate that a transphobic society has pitted us against each other. All we can say is that we hope you get the help you need, whether that be medical transition or just a good friend.

Concept: "No, it's Scalia"-style series of shitposts, but with misstating "dysphoria" in truscum arguments
Actually, you need diaspora to be trans
To be diagnosed with Transgender Identity Disorder, you must experience dyslexia from a young age
You can only be trans if you have dysthymia
Real transgender people suffer from debilitating deforestation

I still keep seeing the Contrapoints discourse continue.
Here's some facts to make this easy:
-Contrapoints, knowing full well who Buck Angel is, had him read a thing in her video.
-Buck Angel (a trans man) outed a trans woman, putting her safety at risk. Buck Angel is Truscum (a transmedicalist), which means he believes you're not a real trans person unless you pass to cis people and have surgery (which is super classist and gross). Buck Angel thinks Non-binary isn't a valid identity and has openly said so. Buck Angel pushes terf ideas and encourages terfs to be terfy while terfing with them terfily, like an asshole. He's on good terms with Graham Linehan (who made good shows before but is transphobic af) and Buck encourages Linehan's transphobia.
-It was shitty that he was in her video at all. And I am, as well as other nb and trans folx, genuinely hurt by it.
-Trans people, of non-binary and binary identities, are rightfully hurt by this, because most of them looked up to Contrapoints and she platformed someone who blatantly speaks out against their rights to be themselves and be seen as valid people who are awesome. Buck Angel makes them feel not awesome.
-Contrapoints has 778k subscribers, and a lot of them are former incels and alt-righters. She has now platformed a transmedicalist who doesn't believe non-binary people are real and thinks you're only valid as a binary trans person if you pass to cis people. This means that she has potentially given these people, with former bad leanings, more bad information to make them more ignorant and scary to us trans/ NB folx.
-People with a 778k subscriber count who make 'educational' videos need to be held accountable so they don't misinform cis people, platform bad people and dismantle the positive changes we want to make.
-Most of us non-binary and trans folx aren't cancelling her, we just want her to acknowledge how she fucked up and change it so we can keep watching her videos. And I think most of us want to know that she's still on our side, because we like her content a lot.
-Caveat: contra isn't doing this, her ride or die stans are: Calling non-binary and non passing trans folx 'snowflakes' for feeling hurt by this is pushing the same rhetoric that the anti-trans/ anti-NB folks are pushing in the alt-right circles.
-We can't prove Contra was grifting, so we should stop using that argument.
-Contrapoints shouldn't be cancelled or harassed or doxxed or made to suffer mentally from her fuckup, but it was still a fuckup and she should talk about it honestly.
-Harassing other breadtubers/ her friends, because of her mistake, is disgusting and unjustified. Please stop that bullshit.

TRUSCUM/TRANSMEDS DO NOT INTERACT
@ anyone who is starting or wants to start HRT (hormone replacement therapy) and is afraid of needles.
That's totally fine! I still have to take deep breaths before I use my needle, despite the fact that I've been taking testosterone for two years.
You should definitely talk to your hormone provider about different options and their effects. Needles are pretty common but there are things like patches and pills!
It's okay to be nervous, you're taking a big step in your life, but please take the necessary precautions to do it safely.
