I've had an idea!
As we're aware, CDPR made an UNFORGIVEABLE MISTAKE when they made Phantom Liberty... they did not include an iconic variant of this most precious bean:
Tumblr media
The Liberty. It's literally called LIBERTY, c'mon guys!
I've had ideas for two iconics. I'll be including them in my Phantom Liberty weapons pack of Dark Future Arsenal as exotic weapons.
As with the standard Liberty in Dark Future Arsenal, it is a Heavy Pistol (Handgun skill, 3d6 DMG, ROF 2, 1 Handed, but with the canon 14 rnd magazine).
Phantom
Phantom is an all-black Liberty, its paint is designed to be sensitive to local light levels, adapting to the darkness to make its form as obscure as possible. It will do 1.5x damage with a suppressor attached and 2.0x damage when fired from stealth. In Cyberpunk RED, this means that Phantom will improve stealth rolls by +1 when held in hand.
The Phantom's suppressor uses the same rules I've homebrewed for stealth attacks and suppressed weapons in my Cyberpunk RED campaigns.
It is suppressed, which means that provided that there are no eneemies with line of sight to the character within 25m/yds, the player will not cause a combat initiative roll if used on an enemy outside of combat. However, if there is an enemy within 25m/yds, the player will have to roll Stealth against the enemy's Perception, which, if fails, will trigger combat and force an initiative roll with the player at a -1 disadvantage.
It ignores armour if fired from Stealth (outside of combat), reflecting the video game's stealth headshot bonus whilst not being too over the top.
It has a unique scope, which will give it +1 to hit at ranges from 0-100m and will not incur the -8 aimed shot penalty (but only if aimed at the target's head). It, alongside Her Majesty, will be perfect companions for the FIA agent on the ground.
Phantom's colours and unique lore about having no serial numbers are meant to evoke the espionage theme of Phantom Liberty.
Redscreen
Redscreen is a unique Liberty with a bright red slide and black frame. It fires unique ammunition called 'Redscreen rounds' that will cause enemies to receive a -2 to all REF and DEX related checks for 1 minute. It is, otherwise, a Liberty.
The glitches that enemies see would be similar to the glitch effect V saw when Songbird uses V as a proxy to hack the Petrochem EBM Stadium in Phantom Liberty. The colours are inspired by the Phantom Liberty colours (red and black).
I'm thinking about a green and grey Barghest themed variant and maybe an all-white NUSA variant, the idea being that this was a weapon carried by Secret Service agents tasked with protecting President Myers.
These variants will not be available to the players of my current campaign, they'll be reserved for the 2077 campaign I've got cooking.

The Fossil
I’m not going to lie, chooms, I’ve been so bored working all the time. I can’t believe that next week, there’s a show at the Fossil that’s not during my shift! It’s Thursday Night at 7pm-11pm. A couple local bands called Copaganda, Blaring Sirens, Tactical Duke, and Tamandua are going to be playing. They’re all punk bands but I guess Tamandua has a surf punk vibe or something. I’m not sure I’d be into it, but it might be different live.
I’ve been to The Fossil a couple times before over the years. They hold All Ages shows sometimes, so I was 13 the first time I went. The place used to be a gas station back before CHOOH2, and a hideout for a couple gangs since then. Somehow, it survived without being demolished, and eventually was fixed up into being a pub in 2028. Instead of rows of merchandise, it’s full of tables just like any restaurant and a small stage. They serve stuff like “Chicken” Tenders, Pizzas, Hot Dogs, and other cheap food you’d expect to see in a gas station. The booze is bottled or canned, mostly, but they do mix cocktails. Their most popular is the Dino Egg Slush (10eb), which is a concoction of Green Apple Smash, Rainbow Bits Candy, and Vodka that comes out of a Slushie machine. I never said these were classy cocktails.
Outside, you’d be forgiven for thinking the place was still abandoned on slower days. The pumps are completely covered with stickers, graffiti, and large “out of order” signs. The windows are very tinted, and the entrance is separated from the rest with a black curtain. There’s a bulletproof glass-covered ticket booth in that area during shows, but it doubles as a front counter and register especially during the day. The entrance has a couple shelves of merch, snacks and drinks, and a cigarette vendit. It’s not uncommon for people to come in just to buy snacks and cigs, but it still gives them business. I mean, I do it too sometimes. I can’t wait to go back. It’s trashy, but it’s part of the local music scene. Night City wouldn’t be the same without it.

Get a tgirl to talk about all the ttrpgs she wants to run and look into, and how much she knows about the lore and feel. DO NOT ask her about the rules, she will get flustered if she doesn’t know the rules.

name is fraz. or rage. depending on where you know me from.
I enjoy anthropology, worldbuilding, and ttrpgs. seems like a match made in heaven. except i have beef with wizards of the coast. I think a lot of their ideas are shallow and unexplained. thats not how culture works. (not to mention the OGL fiasco that made me jump ship once and for all).
im just gonna post shit i make for my own world here. Goal: make all all cultures interesting. or at least - appealing to players. deadass have never had a player create a halfling or orc in my 8+ years of running dnd...
mod is 18+, 18+ content. We are doing character design and lore - and unfortunately history can be very messy. main blog is @freerangeranger. yes its a pokemon rp blog. no i do not care. I'm mostly a pf2e and dnd 5e person but i also think abt CoC, Cyberpunk Red, GURPS 4e, among others.
tags will probably be #aggressiveculture #aggressivelore #aggressivethoughts. Ill edit it as it changes

Dark Future Arsenal - Assault Rifles
Returning to Dark Future Arsenal. Today we'll focus on the Assault Rifles. Cyberpunk RED does not have a specific category for Precision Rifles/Battle Rifles, so I've not touched weapons like the SOR-22 or the Achilles yet.
I use headcanon, based on my knowledge of real-world firearms, what canon information is available, my visual inspection of the firearms, and their performance in game, to make educated guesses about how they perform, their place in the weapon sandbox, and the lore behind them. Let me know if you have any suggestions or ideas!
Burst Fire
Tumblr media
Burst fire is a feature many of Cyberpunk 2077's weapons feature. I wanted to incorporate this feature, so I've written some rules for this. Using the autofire skill against a custom DV table, based on the autofire table, this reflects that a rifle in Burst mode will be harder to control than single shot, but easier than autofire. While the number next to the autofire skill represents the maximum you can multiply by for your DMG roll, I am using this to specify how many rounds that weapon fires in Burst mode.
Some weapons use Burst Fire as their primary fire mode, such as the JKE-X2 Kenshin.
Nowaki
Tumblr media
The Nowaki is a weapon that canonically was used in the Cyberpunk 2020 era, though the WAA bullpup was apparently Arasaka's standard rifle (it doesn't appear in the game, so we must assume that either they weren't present at AHQ on 20 August 2023, or Arasaka found the Nowaki preferable and issued that to their troops more often than the WAA.
Excellent quality by default, and with a smaller-than-normal magazine and without suppressive fire, the Nowaki is a peculiar gun in that it's othewrwise a normal AR with a rather high price tag (inflation sucks, yo).
Masamune
Tumblr media
The Masamune is basically the HK416 to the Nowaki's M16A1. The Masamune is canonically capable of autofire (per Cyberpunk Edgerunners), burst fire and single shot fire, and is an excellent quality weapon. In the 2050s? It would be exceedingly rare to see outside of gov or corp hands, hence the price tag. However, its flexibility justifies the price tag. I could see edgerunners boasting that they own one of these.
Umbra
Tumblr media
The Umbra is canonically a piece of junk made from soft metals that will melt under the standard operating conditions. It's basically a Saturday Night Special in AR format. But it has a big magazine, suppressive fire, and Autofire, all for 200 eddies! Good for gangoons, or for noob edgerunner characters. Like all poor quality weapons, it'll jam on a critical fail, but I'm thinking that if an Umbra jams, the weapon becomes useless, and needs to be discarded.
Ajax
Tumblr media
The Ajax is basically an American-made AKM, based on what I can find out about it. The Ajax features a heavy round that travels at a lower velocity, and it kicks like a pig in autofire, much like an AKM. It looks like an AKM as well. I've used a lot of headcanon to make this weapon stand out. In exchange for having a higher DV for autofire, it has 6d6 damage, but also only deals 1/2 damage to armour SP. It'll tear up unarmoured flesh though, no worries about that.
Copperhead and Sidewinder
Tumblr media
The Copperhead is functionally the AK rifle of the 2070s. Though in my current document I compare it to the AKM, I dare say it's closer to the AK-74. It appears to fire an intermediate round, is select fire, generally reliable and has enough of a bang to be worth it. Much like the AKM's 7.62x39mm round compared to the AK-74's 5.45x39mm round, the Copperhead would probably have better armour penetration than the Ajax, but lower damage.
Tumblr media
The Sidewinder is a smart rifle adaptation of the Copperhead. It only shoots Smart rounds (500 eb a pop, per the core rules) and cannot fit any attachments, not even a bayonet. The Sidewinder is unique because it has an internal targeting scope. Provided the player has any cybereyes, and a smart link, the Sidewinder will handle the rest, making it a good option for players who aren't big on cyberware (such as low EMP players, Nomads, or players who would be canonically wary of cyberware).
Kyubi
Tumblr media
The Kyubi's capabilities in the game appear to be similar to the FAL, but more specifically the British L1A1 SLR. It is canonically a weapon that is highly accurate, designed for expert marksmen and competition shooters. I personally believe that this weapon would be fairly powerful, so I might've gone overboard with all the special features. Basically, it can only use the 20 round magazine (because it might be overpowered otherwise), it has a unique holosight that improves close-range accuracy, and it has unique match-grade ammo (produced internally by Tsunami Defense Systems). It's expensive to purchase and use, but if your character's a sniper who doesn't want the debuffs I'll be giving to people who use the HMGs or Sniper Rifles, and you operate at fairly close ranges, perhaps the Kyubi's better than an SOR-22 or an Achilles.

Net Cafes
A funny thing about the Time of The Red is that old things became popular again. For example, there’s this guy a couple blocks from me who sells mystery VHS tapes. They’re supposed to be anything from home videos to re-runs of Doctor Who, and he charges 1eb each. I’d be too nervous I’d get some creepy porn vid, but I don’t have a VHS player to try it out. The point is that people still buy them. Old is new again, or more accurately that people are sometimes too broke to pay for modern forms of entertainment.
Net cafes are some of those old things that have returned. Yes, it’s the Ziggurat- owned Data Pool this time around, but there are cafes that charge an hourly fee for use of their computers and other amenities. Some people even live there, and bounce between different cafes when the owners say they’ve reached the maximum amount of time they’re allowed to. It costs roughly the same as living at a cube hotel if you only stay for 8 hours (500eb a month/about 16eb or 17eb per 8 hours depending on the cafe), but you just sleep in an office chair. Still, nerdier people feel safer there. Hell, Elflines events are run out of them.
One of them I’ve been to is called RGB cafe, which charges 2eb/hour for general use and 4eb/hour to use a private booth. It’s lit up with red, green, and blue neon lights around the walls, which are all painted black. The place is split up between the lounge area, and the private booths at right-hand side of the building. The lounge is full of rows of computer desks, tables to sit at, and a few TVs to hook up your game consoles to. There’s also a couple of vend-its carrying snacks, drinks, cigarettes, nicotine sticks, and generic prepak next to a microwave. The restrooms are also near that area as well, but there’s a 1eb fee to use them. They also have shower booths that charge 1eb per minute, which are becoming more common in other public places due to the high homeless population.
The private booths at RGB contain a computer desk, an office chair, an LED lamp, and a small shelf. Like every PC in the cafe, the computer itself is contained in a clear cage attached to the desk that can be unlocked by the staff. It’s sort of like what they have around the electronics in hospital rooms. The booths are pretty small, but if you’re really engrossed in what you’re doing it won’t matter.
As far as the safety, it’s not that much of a violent place to be. Sure, I’ve seen a people beat each other up for winning at a trading card game, but that’s to be expected. Weapons are taken at the door and locked up until you leave, so getting beaten with someones’ bare hands or theft is really your main risk. If you’re not vigilant of your belongings, they will get stolen. They have lockers for your stuff you can rent for 1eb an hour.
Notice how the place is really cheap to be, but the amenities are more expensive? That cheap price is what gets people in the door. Lots of techs and netrunners work out of them, and that brings in other customers. It’s a neat place to be, but it sure does reek like BO and feet. If you can get past that, it’s part of the backbone of the geek community in this city.

Does this stat sound cool?
Arcane (ARC)
Your ability to understand and manipulate the melody. Particularly for casting spells, understanding rituals and creating your own magical effects. One character with high Arcane might be able create devastating fire storm effects but not able to hold a conversation or wield a sword. But another might be able to summon a sword and shield and fence against the best, but may not be able to understand and decipher rituals.

Elfen Lied Easter Egg for Cyberpunk Red TTRPG
Tumblr media
So this kind of came to be after making a TikTok about a DM having Lilium in their campaign music playlist and how much stress it would cause.
We wanted to try and make a character sheet for Lucy, and then it evolved into a full encounter idea. We made a PDF and Word Doc version available. The PDF is also on our website!
Tumblr media
The PDF and Word Doc for it is free since it's a Fanbrew, and it hasn't been playtested. It's designed to be an easter egg that can fit into existing campaigns.

don't mind me just breaking up the images, because that's a lot of text
