This is Board with folders of fashion hcs for Murder Drones characters. I'll explain more about each folder under the cut.

I'm open for suggestions, character requests and stuff too :"

(male characters will be harder for me, esp if we don't know much about them, so if you request a character maybe add some suggestions for styles!)

Characters:

Uzi - Gothic, (maybe some emo?) - Idk a lot about alt fashion so I tried my best

N - Decora & other more colorful styles! Also some things I imagine Uzi and Tessa gifting him.

Thad - idk your typical casual male fashion BUT ALSO clothes and sneakers with cartoon effects!!!

Tessa - Upcycled clothes, Holographic fashion, space themes & some other cute stuff I felt fit her (Upcycled bc I imagine she would prefer to reuse and recycle in general, not just when it comes to fixing up broken drones!)

V - a mix of stuff I imagine her getting from N, Uzi and Lizzy. I feel she wouldn't care too much and wear whatever people gift her

J - neat and professional looks for the most part

Cyn (NOT the AS) - Lolita, Kidcore but also things that match Ns and Tessas boards because I feel Cyn would take inspiration from them when it comes to her wardrobe. So it's kinda a mix!

Lizzy - whatever pretty clothes I felt for a popular girl like her. Very girly

Doll - idk how to describe hers? A more neat style and Earthy colors

Nori - Goth, Gothic Lolita, Also space themes ??? I tried making her goth style a bit more fancy/formal than Uzis

Matching/Squad/Duo/Ship boards:

Nuzi - Decora (N) & Dark Decora (Uzi), Goth (Uzi) & Pastel Goth (N), other cute outfits I just felt fit them, Sun (N) & Moon (Uzi) themed fits

Vizzy - mostly fits I feel Lizzy would pick out for them to wear

DD Squad - random fits I associated with 1 or 2 or all 3 of them but felt like theyd only wear together and not separate

Cheer Squad - Lizzy, Doll & Rebecca outfits I feel they would wear together but not necessarily separately

CoolKids - N, Thad & Uzi matching fits! They range from their 3 individual styles to unrelated things I feel theyd wear together.

Manor Squad - Clothes that I feel V, J & N as well as maybe Cyn & the other Manor Drones, maybe even Tessa herself, would wear - including some hcs of what Tessa gifted them. Mostly Lolita styled.

Here’s Craig!! Ignore that i drew him kinda young here, this was just a doodle, he’s like early 20s in this au

Anyway plenty of people know about female selkie myths: they go on land, get their skin stolen by a man, and they’re forced to marry and live with him till they either 1: die or 2: find their skin and return to the sea

but there are male selkies with a bit of a different lore >:)

male selkies follow the same rules with skins as women do: they shed their skin to become human, and without it, they can’t go home. But, according to mythology, if a heartbroken or unhappy woman cries 7 tears into the sea, she summons a selkie to fall in love with her and take her back to his underwater kingdom.

the stories range on how much of this is the woman’s free will vs. mind control, and no one seems to agree on how long a male selkie can stay on land, but this is kinda important to this au. Not the main focus, but i wanted to mention it anyway cause i found it cool.

Going to drone prom and tearing up the dance floor.

Could you possibly tell more about your Second Chances AU?

i dont quite have story stuff to tell you as that'll be shown in future comics but i do have some little fun facts in a more fleshed out setting! some of them aren't gonna be directly stated as they're not what the story revolves around. keyword some!

Cyn is trying to honour tessa by referencing her in clothing pieces and whatnot, or using some of her catchphrases. Sort of keeping tessa alive in spirit! (also cause she's still in some denial over the whole situation)

Uzi, V, N and lizzy are in a polycule, if thats the right word

Uzi is dating N and V, V is dating lizzy, uzi, n and possibly j in the future, and N is dating Uzi and V :) Though v and n specifically are queerplatonic

Khan has hair now

Nori is willingly staying a core, mostly cause she's used to it and also because its 'cooler"

Thad and cyn are, funnily enough, pretty good friends and would consider eachother best friends

Uzi became a sort of doctor to drones as a side hobby, repairing people either manually or using the solver on them like how she repaired the cockroach when she's lazy. But only if possible

Cyn still has that morbid curiosity she's always had, just a lot more toned down and kept in line by newfound morals

Cyn is contemplating turning herself into a disassembly drone just for fun, also to be taller than uzi out of spite

John Lennon's collage "for" Paul

I was very curious about the collage image going around tumblr (e.g., here, here, and here) that was identified as being made "for Paul" and titled "I Only Have Eyes for You", and done by John Lennon "at art school". Here it is; I scanned this from Julian Lennon's book Beatles Memorabilia: The Julian Lennon Collection (by Brian Southall and Julian Lennon, 2010)

You can see that Paul has written at the bottom "J.L. Collage - To Julian - love Paul x".

The book caption reads

A distinct and original collage of faces and bodies dedicated to Julian from Paul. It was created by John and given to Paul.

But the first time this previously unseen collage surfaced was in 2000. It was included in a show held by artist Peter Blake at the Tate Liverpool, called About Collage.

An article in The Independent at the time says

A John Lennon collage never seen in public is to feature in an exhibition that opens 30 years ago to the day the Beatles split... Lennon's collage, done at art school in the 1950s, comprises faces and figures cut from magazines, and features a number of eyes and lips pasted on images of girls. Blake said: "The style tied in with my Sgt Pepper's album cover, which was simply a more organised version, with bigger heads." Natalie Rudd, who helped curate the exhibition, said: "No one really knows much about Lennon's collage. … It has no title and is rather dark, with a lot of black and red and we can only guess at what he was trying to say."

In this 2009 Guardian article, Blake says,

By then I knew that Paul McCartney owned a collage that John Lennon had done, so I borrowed that. Paul also made a sound collage of Liverpool, and he made an artwork too.

Another quote from Eye Magazine in 2000:

He hopes to borrow an unseen art school collage by John Lennon, owned by Paul McCartney.

There was a book produced to accompany the show, called Peter Blake: About Collage (2000). The collage is reproduced in the book:

The credit reads "John Lennon 1940-1980, Untitled, late 1950s, Paper collage, 970 x 675mm, Private Collection". It does not have the handwritten note by Paul at the bottom.

Peter Blake's comments say:

I have followed Paul McCartney's career as an artist, so when About Collage emerged, I suggested that he made a collage, perhaps from sound, which he has pursued. John Lennon made a collage at art school during the late 1950s which is included in the show.

Paul did make a sound collage for the show, and released it as an album called Liverpool Sound Collage; some of it is on YouTube. (There used to be a website for it, long gone now, but you can see bits of it at the Internet Archive). Here's his artwork, titled The World, mentioned by Blake above (the central image is a back and white photo of Jerry Lewis):

So, to summarize:

The collage does NOT have an official title. I don't know where the "I Only Have Eyes for You" title came from

It's not clear that the collage was made for Paul specifically, only that it was given to Paul, date unknown

It's not clear if the collage Paul gave to Julian is the original or a copy

It seems unlikely that it was made at art school, as some of the images are of women in classically mid-1960s clothes and hairstyles. The only source for the date of composition seems to be Paul

It's not stated who gave the collage to Paul - it might have been John, but it could easily have been Julia or Yoko (or even Cyn?)

Paul's artwork was NOT made for John

PS. I looked through the book Paul McCartney: Paintings but the collage isn't mentioned.

PPS. I tried doing some image searches on the clearer photos of women in the collage, but got no results. Perhaps someone else will have better luck.

cuz of their strict school rules, doll has to tie her hair up since she doesnt want to cut her hair,, V already has short hair. their uniforms is as u can see in the pic cuz I CANT DESCRIBE CLOTHES SORRY SOBS

lizzy and thad are siblings in this au (cuz it sits well w me idk its a fun thought) and they semi-share eye light colours 👍 lizzy went w her dad while thad stayed w the mom, so they grew up in different environments :)

thad and uzi are in the same school !! same grade etc. uzi's more of a loner student and she likes to eat her meals in the school washrooms (don't ask) but if thad invites her she'll eat in the cafetaria w him (as long as his other friends aren't around, she hates them)

uzi's school doesnt know exactly have uniforms?¿ it js came out when i drew her anyway tho 😭 her school is less strict on dress codes so they can wear whatever,, their school is a public one btw

Doll and V- again, a bit morally ambiguous to ship a character with the murderer of your family, esp when said murderer hasnt expressed regret lmao, but i wish they could at least be friends... Dolls disdain for the murder drones pushed her to end up the way she did. maybe if she didnt do it alone she would have been alive by now. so i like to think what would have happened if she and V could have made up- not necessarily Doll forgiving her- but at least having the space to grow and understand why they did they things that happened.

Cyn and literally ANYONE- i want the solver to be SEPARATE from Cyn- i wish Cyn would have still existed somewhere down there and was savable- i wish this poor child AI had a happy ending to her by connecting with the others as ACTUAL siblings... goddamnit 😔

i love your art. But Iam very curious about your swap AU. I have many questions but Iam just gonna dtart of with as few as I can ask for today. What is Zs and Dolls relationship like? What is Nate and Zs relationship and persobalities like? Is Z a tsundere? Why does L tell and view Z as a freak? What is L and Ts relationship like? Can you draw all of your swap AU charecters in their prom getup? and can you draw Cyn, Vivian and Jennys clothes that isnt their uniforms?

Z and Doll, in this AU, were extremely close at the mansion. You could see it as a "big sister" situation, but for the most part Z was just kind of protective of Doll since she was a bit.. odd. And Z always felt bad for the outcasts.

Z loves Nate more than anything. She thinks he can be a little dweeby, but it doesn't take long for her to become endeared to his quirks. And she WILL go through any length to make sure he's happy and safe, always softening her aggressiveness when he's around. HE'S CUTE, SHE LOVES HIM. Funnily enough, Nate's the one who started crushing on her first, becoming a stuttery mess the more he realizes it. All in all, they're best friends who always have each other's backs and that'll never change!

Z tsundere as hell

L views Z as a freak because... she still acts pretty abrasive. Back at the mansion, she was not a very good maid, and was kinda messy. They have a mutually hostile relationship, so Z often bites back and throws insults at her too. Plus, L just likes being catty.

L and T are good friends, and trust each other with their lives. L will roll her eyes at T's tryhard macho act, but all in all she puts more trust in him than she does Z. Plus, T's willing to get his hands dirty for her and she doesn't wanna get oil on her clothes.

and u took in whatever culture and traditions everyone was so excited to show you as they were kind enough to give u clothes/food/shelter etc.

butttt… it did get overwhelming after a few months, and u got homesick more and more often :(

after all there wasn’t really an equivalent country to Costa Rica, and you couldn’t just take a plane back home, you were stuck here for… however long it takes someone to leave a video game universe??

You decided to actually do smth abt the crippling depression and “outsider” feelings instead of just rotting away, and went to Sumeru to get closer to the greenery of your home,

it made you feel a little better, but it could be the best, so u decide to lowkey force everyone in Sumeru to convert to Costa Rican LMAO

so ofc u did the most logical thing to convert ppl to a culture, the food!

u helped fund a small restaurant full of classic Costa Rican foods (coughandsoyoucaneatitwheneveryouwantcough)

(u still have the insane mora leftover from what u had in game so ur basically one of the richest ppl in Teyvat ngl 💀)

u recreated just the basic gallo pinto/casado with what was available (some beans from Natlan and rice from Inazuma/Liyue, the Ajilenakh nut from Sumeru acc kinda acts like plantains :0 and local fish/greens for salad)

Needless to say Sumeru is fascinated by the new cuisine and esp since its not a secret that you’ve funded it/made the menu from your homeworld

Alhaitham orders the casado most of the time bc he “admires the exact proportions, its all the nutrients you need, perfectly balanced” NERDDD

Tighnari likes barbudos bc there's not a lot of egg dishes in Sumeru but there are a lot of greens, so he “likes the familiar in unique combinations!”

unsurprisingly, Cyno likes Chancelta bc he can pick it up, eat it quickly, and go on with his patrol

Collei, Kaveh (and secretly Dehya lol) really like being able to munch and snack on sugar cane, (and the plantain imitation desserts!)

(u found sugarcane deep in sumeru forests, it was like on ur world, but sweet flowers sprouted out of the stalks too!)

You decide the next phase was to introduce dances and other fun stuff!!

Nilou was literally shaking with excitement to learn the traditional dances <3 (and also getting ur permission to add fun twists or Sumeru elements to them)

the kids that like to hang around and watch the troupe practice (and join) absolutely got obsessed with swing criollo, it was so cute to watch them all pair up and kinda trip over their own feet trying the footwork out

(u may or may not have teared up bc the band learned how to play a Spanish song for u guys to dance to, just for you)

teaching the theater troupes musicians how to adapt upbeat songs like Caballito Nicoyano or Ticas Lindas

omg getting Nilou Kaveh Faruzan Cyno Dehya (and Dunyazard!) to do the calipso limonense always cheers you up, (which is why they are so eager to do it when ur feeling homesick ❤️‍🩹)

Kaveh steps on too many people’s toes, Dehya gets dizzy from the spins/turns easily, Faruzan keeps spinning for too long, Nilou and Dunyazard are actually secretly latina bc they're so good at it (did they outdo you?? no, no they couldn't possibly-)

and Cyno just really likes the little dance line everyone makes lol

that's actually how u spread any games from back home, Cyno just does all the work for you and challenges ppl to things like jackses and no one knows what it is

which he then proceeds to strong arm them into learning and beat their asses at it

Blessed be Costa Rica, such a lovely country when I went, and as soon as I got off the plane coming back the first thing I did was make a Costa Rican meal the best I could

like got my mom to prep from dry black beans and rice etc. as fresh as we could get (nowhere near costa rica level btw) and made fresh guac and fried plantain chips and salmon I think? literally cooked the first night back bc I knew I missed the food already/knew id get sick

and I was RIGHT, that food I made was fine, but any other American food so bad I got nauseous

I literally got sick COMING BACK TO THE U.S like 😨???!!! I knew it was bad but not THAT bad lmao

and the first meal I had after that was still a homecooked meal, like my mom made it💀

love the coffee from there too, we even ordered coffee from the farm we visited when I got back to US it was so good (10x better than American obv)

I'm so excited to finally post this.

My full Murder Drones reference! so hopefully I can keep up consistency

Obviously, this is full of my own head canons so close ups and explanations under the cut (it's a LOT) >;]

To be totally honest my focus was on the main characters, and I think that shows in the designs of the Manor Drones and Cabin Fever Squad. BUT I'll still do my best to explain my process here.

For the Disassemblers I decided to do very different builds for each but the same color pallet.

My idea here was that since each have a different designation letter, that was akin to their model type. That's also why "the company" was able to clone J so easily, they just had her model on file. (also like to imagine there are 26 different forms of the Disassemblers Imao).

I had all the colors remain the same to show their unity and of course the Absolute Solver-ification of the basic Worker Drone color scheme. Essentially, I just took the monochromatic WD colors and put the highlighter yellow over it that Cyn loves so much.

For J I did a more lean and strong build. I wanted her to exude that leader energy. I also made her Core a star shape for similar reasons and then I also noticed that N and V had caution stripes at the top of their legs but as far as I could see J didn't, so I decided to add those to the very top of her legs to finish the garter belt look she's got going on. For her hair, I actually really like the pigtails I just flattened them out a bit because the big cutesy poof they had didn't fit her style in my opinion. I brought it back for her worker form though.

With V I gave her a round yet sharp look. (My favorite added detail is the sharp shoulders) I did make her the shortest of the DD because everyone loves the small but vicious archetype. For her core I made it a sword or spear shape, because she's extra violent. And finally, I made her legs a little more pointed than J's to finish off the sharp look.

Last but CERTAINLY not least, N's design is meant to be soft and plushy but still has a little edge to it. His hair is fluffy but the tufts curl to be sharp, His core is meant to look like a heart but it's upside down so the point is still facing the top (which makes it look more like a club but whatever) I gave him a rounder torso than the other two and his elbow and kneecaps are softer too. His general construction is still menacing, though, so don't get too comfortable with all the fluff. I also spent a LONG time contemplating if I should make his thighs black to look like little biker shorts to contrast with J and V's sock looks but went against it because I love how the hazard stripes stand out against the white.

For N and V's worker forms I basically took out all the sharp edges and rounded them out. J's still a little sharp though not as much.

With the Workers I did the opposite of the DD. They have the EXACT same body types (minus Uzi because she's little) and instead I changed their color schemes to all be unique to their eye lights

Since Worker Drones were made to... well... WORK I think their initial manufacturing would be pretty uniform. A copy and paste if you will. It was only when they were left to their own devices that the WD started to customize themselves. Thus came the wigs and clothes.

I like to think the color started with those infected with the Solver, so Yeva and Nori gained color and then passed that on to their kids. Thats also why Alice has color, but Khan, The Manor Squad, and some other drones in the colony don't. Does not explain Lizzy and Thad though (maybe they have a distant relative that had the solver idk)

It was a lot harder to infer about what a base WD body would look like Maybe I was just looking in the wrong places, but I had to infer with things like the worker helmets, we see every WD except Uzi wear one but they seem more coordinated with their outfits so I decided to just continue my color head-canon that its naturally monochrome and you can customize it if you want to!

I added a light to the feet of the worker drones to match the hand lights. I don't think there's a canon reason for the lights but, on the workers at least. I think they're there to help them do grunt work in the dark! to light their ways in caves or tight spaces so they could do their job better. Now they're just another robot cosmetic

For the Parents, I gave them wrinkles because I thought it was unfair that Khan was the only one who got them. So, Nori gets crow's feet hurray! No but I probably had the most difficult time with these drones. It was hard to separate the canon from fanon since we know so little about them, but I fought off all the demons to keep their designs relatively grounded. Minus Khan's scar. And Alice's more natural horns. and-

I also gave some drones eyelashes. just cause. if I thought it fit, I added it and if it didn't, I didn't add it.

Now you may be wondering "Lexo what's up with all the cracks!?" the idea here is that it's the solver taking over. We see in Cabin Fever and Home that the solver virus fundamentally changes the body of a drone. The crack in the casing is basically this process. Depending on the stage of which your drone is at it changes the intensity. We see Cyn being the main host and essentially patient 0, so she has the most cracks. It starts at the core then spreads until it reshapes you entirely and you become a Disassembly Drone. Unless you stop it in time. Thats why J, V, and N have the pale lines on the bottom of their torso, they're more pretty and cleaner since they achieved the solvers "final form" so to speak. Nori and Yeva on the other hand, have repaired cracks but they're still messy since they were stopped mid-way. Alice, however, did not stop the spread with the solver cure since she was "abandoned" so instead she just cut out her core entirely. Yup. Shes functioning on pure insanity and spite at this point. And then of course with the new hosts, there is light spreading. TL: DR the cracks are a zombie bite.

Flesha wears Tessa's Dress, not CYNs.

Although there dresses are very similar, it is distinctly Tessa's dress;

CYNs dress is black and while while Flesha's is solid black.

Flesha's sleeves match Tessa's and not CYNs.

CYN's dress is solid blach while Flesha's is a ribbon tie up.

CYN's dress has a while underlayer.

CYN's socks are different to Flesha's.

CYN's skirt has ruffles which Flesha's is smooth.

Flesha wears heels like Tessa while CYN doesn't.

The only article of clothing from CYN is her armband which i think is an interesting detail.

The Fixer Drone AU Character Profile 1: Serial Designation T-3554 aka Tessa

(A follow up of THIS POST about my Fixer Drone AU)

The first Fixer Drone made by JCJenson IN SPAAAAACE!!!! and Cyn’s 2nd favorite drone (the first is N).

According to her memories, she was a broken discarded drone that Cyn found one day and decided to fix, making her loyal to Cyn to a disturbing degree. Unfortunately, her memories are very unreliable since she doesn’t remember most of her past and the sheer amount of trauma she accidentally subjected herself led her to repress even more memories. Cyn’s “definitively not brainwashing” didn’t help her.

Despite this she’s VERY good at her job and can create anything out of a few scraps, from small gizmos to giant, complex machines and has successfully fixed thousands of planets before coming to Copper-9, receiving multiple awards from the company for her job.

She’s very good towards her assistants N, V, J and (now) Uzi, treating them well and giving them lots of benefits like days off, company-branded items as rewards for jobs well done and even considers them her friends. Her assistants don’t exactly feel the same way towards her. Except for J, who would gladly walk to hell and back for her.

Looks like a regular worker drone except for a huge number of tentacles with various tools and weapons connected to her back and has the same hairstyle she had back when she was still a human FOUND BY CYN. Her eyes are two yellow X but can shift to O, but if they ever do it means that she’s having a panic attack or a mental breakdown. Or some of her repressed memories are coming back up.

Wears long baggy clothes and a JCJenson-branded scientist lab coat. J tells her that she needs to wear more appropriate clothes for her job but she doesn’t care.

Fun Fact! She poorly emulates Cyn’s speech pattern when speaking and only drops it when angry, scared or serious.
