something something kindergarten teacher! steve who is so tired of going on bad dates. kindergarten teacher! robin who doesn't want him to give up.
“Really? The date went that bad?” Robin asks again.
“Yes,” Steve drones. “I swear she looked like she’d rather be at the dentist than on a date with me.”
Robin makes a sad face at him. Steve continues to sort the paint jugs and throw out any that have been mixed with other colors. Robin finishes putting toys back into cubbies and sanitizing the fake food.
“Okay so,” Robin starts.
Steve immediately holds up a hand. “Don’t say ‘maybe she’s not the one but someone is’. I’m sick of this, Rob. I feel like I’m just better off alone.”
“Not true,” Robin argues. “You’re a catch. You’re attractive and good with kids. You make me laugh so hard my ribs shake. You’re a great listener and you make amazing cocktails. Great helmet of hair. Who wouldn’t want to date that?”
Steve’s heard it all before. He loves Robin, he does, but it doesn’t seem to matter what she thinks of him because no one in this town wants to make it to date two with him.
He used to be so good at this. Always had a girl on his arm at football games in high school. Always had a date to prom. Always had some girl to make out with at parties. Even when he realized later on in his twenties that he liked boys too, he still couldn’t find one that took his attraction seriously.
Steve Harrington? Like both? Unheard of, apparently.
Still, Steve didn’t want to start the first day of school on a bad note. “Thanks, Rob. I might need to lick my wounds for a second but I’ll get back on the horse I promise.”
“Good because our marriage pact could be closing soon,” Robin mumbles with a sly smile.
Steve’s head whips around. “Are you‒”
“I have a ring picked out,” Robin practically squeals.
Steve does his best to gently set down the paint jugs and rip off his latex gloves before darting across the room to pick Robin up in a twirling hug. He kisses her head repeatedly until she’s groaning, giggling, and shoving him off.
“Rob, that’s amazing,” Steve breathes. He squeezes her tightly again.
“You better keep your mouth shut,” Robin warns with a pointed finger. “It’s so hard to surprise Nancy Wheeler but I think I’m finally going to be able to.”
Steve’s grinning from ear to ear as he mimes zipping his mouth closed. “Secret’s safe with me.”
The alarm on Steve’s phone breaks them out of their little love fest and suddenly the halls are filled with parents, children, and teachers gabbing to high heaven. Robin gives him a salute before crossing over onto her side of the classroom. Technically, there is a foldable partition between the two rooms but it will be a cold day in Hell if Robin and Steve ever actually separate their classrooms.
Steve goes to stand by his door and greet his new gaggle of students. He high-fives each of them as they walk through the door and points to their assigned cubby and seat.
Fifteen minutes later, he’s looking around the room and sees that two seats are still empty. Dustin and Max Munson. He didn’t see them at parent-teacher night last week but he knows from their file that they’re fraternal twins from a single, widowed dad. He tries to keep an eye out for them but he knows the other kids are getting restless.
Then he hears, “Oh, Mr. Munson, you’re actually in Steve’s‒sorry, Mr. Harrington’s class. He’s just right across the way.”
Steve glances across the room and does a double-take. Across the room is the alleged Mr. Munson, this tall, lanky man with curly brown hair that hits his shoulders with a blank bandana tying down the top of his head, big brown eyes, a leather jacket with pins, a white tank top, and coverall sleeves tied at his waist. He’s positively breathtaking.
Holding either hand are Max and Dustin. A little redhead with a baseball cap, overalls, and a striped shirt. A little brunette curly head with green khaki shorts and a shirt with a dragon on it. Mr. Munson smiles apologetically at Robin and walks across the room to Steve’s. Dustin bolts to his assigned seat and starts talking animatedly to Will Byers who looks a little scared out of his mind but is quickly rescued by Mike Wheeler who is just as excited. Max stays glued to Mr. Munson’s side as he walks up to Steve.
If Steve’s not mistaken, Mr. Munson looks him up and down before speaking.
“Sorry we’re late,” Mr. Munson says and of course, his voice is pretty too. “This one is a little nervous about being away from her dad.”
Steve draws his eyes away from the strong neck and pale collarbones that poke out from underneath his jacket to the scared girl. He bends down to her level and gives her a soft smile.
“Are you Max? I’m Mr. Harrington,” Steve says.
Max blinks, inching more and more behind Mr. Munson’s pant leg.
“School’s kinda scary, huh?” Steve asks.
Max nods.
“I know I get a little nervous on the first day and I’m the teacher,” Steve admits in a small, dramatic voice. He sees the tiniest sliver of a smile on Max’s face. “I’ve sat you next to Lucas Sinclair,” Steve points to the smiling kid on the other side of the room. Lucas gives a small wave. “He’s a very nice boy and I think he even likes the Bulls,” Steve gestures to Max’s hat. “So, I think you guys will have loads to talk about. We’re gonna have a really fun day, okay? And then you’ll get to tell your dad all about it.”
Max glances timidly around the room again and slowly lets go of her dad’s pant leg. Dustin rushes over and shows Max where her cubby is which detaches her completely. Max sits next to Lucas who does get very excited over her hat. Steve and Mr. Munson watch her relax little by little.
“Holy sh‒shirt," Mr. Munson coughs and smiles sheepishly. "Wow, uh, you really know how to talk to them. Literally made her a friend within five seconds."
Steve stands and tries to regain composure now that the irresistible dad’s attention is on him.
“Thanks,” Steve says quietly. “The first day is always a little tricky.”
Mr. Munson holds out his hand and says, “Eddie.”
Steve takes it, feeling a little dizzy over how firm his grip is and the callouses on his hands. “S-Steve. Harrington.”
“I’m sorry we couldn’t make it last week. Last-minute towing emergency for Chief Hopper,” Eddie says, finally dropping Steve’s hand.
Steve playfully rolls his eyes. “I’ve been telling him for years that he needs to dump that old hunk of junk already. I’m guessing you work for Munson Mechanics?”
Eddie smiles boldly and glances down at his attire. “Yeah, that’s where I get this sick uniform. Very exclusive.”
“I’m jealous,” Steve laughs nervously, trying desperately to keep his eyes on Eddie’s face. But even then, his eyes are so pretty and his smile is so radiant. There’s faint stubble on his upper lip and jaw. Steve wants to run his fingers over it amongst other things.
“Well, I won’t keep you much longer,” Eddie smiles, clapping Steve on his back. “Maybe I’ll get you a free oil change for your trouble.”
“Oh, it’s no trouble‒”
Eddie leans forward a little and squeezes Steve’s shoulder. He whispers, “Or maybe I just want to see you when there are not twenty five-year-olds staring at me.”
From this proximity, Steve can smell his cologne and lingering car oil. He can feel his brain cells dying every second he inhales the intoxicating aroma. Steve breathes shallowly, too aware of the growing blush on his cheeks, and says, “S-sure. I’d like that.”
Eddie smirks and has the audacity to wink before going to each of his kids, ruffling their hair, and kissing them goodbye with a big wet smack on their cheeks. He passes by Steve again and murmurs, “I won’t say goodbye to you like that. Not yet, at least. Good luck with my little gremlins” before walking out the door.
Steve hears the clunk of his boots echoing down the hall and each step makes his heart beat louder against his ribs.
He dares to look at Robin across the room who is staring at him with a smug grin on her face. She mimics getting on a horse and does a little lasso with her hand.
Steve adjusts his glasses, clears his throat, and says in his best teacher voice, “Alright friends, who’s ready to start kindergarten?”

Eddie quietly hummed a beat to himself as he sat in the living room, his foot tapping along as well.
After a few moments he groans in frustration, throwing himself back onto the couch.
"Is everything ok in there?" You called out from the kitchen.
A moment of silence went by before footsteps of Eddie's boot came closer towards your location. "I have the perfect beat but I just can't find the lyrics to fit!" He explained, leaning on the counter, watching you move around the kitchen.
"I'm sure it'll hit you at a random point when you're not so stressed!" You reassured, pressing your hand on his chest, leaning into kiss eddie but a noise from the baby monitor.
You both sighed, you chuckled and tapped his chest.
"Go get our baby will you?" You asked, moving back to the stove to start prepping lunch.
"She always knows when her parents are about to have a moment.." Eddie chuckled before walking back to your guys room.
"There's the monster!" Eddie joked as he spotted your baby laying in the middle of the bed, she looked as if she had just popped out of the blanket, her baby hairs sticking up in different directions, just a diaper on, skin imprints on her tummy from laying on the blanket for the first hour of her nap.
"The pillow getcha?" Stacy, your daughter looked around the room before lifting her hands up towards eddie.
"It beats me up too, even gets your mama!" Eddie tickles her belly to get a laugh out.
"Does not!" You yelled from the kitchen. Eddie turned towards the baby monitor.
"She listens in, you believe that?" He jokes with the baby.

You peaked out the window blinds you and Eddie had in your bedroom, you watched as he mowed the grass in front of your house to fit the little pool the wheeler’s had bought for Stacy to use during the summer heat.
You grasped the towel on your chest, bathtime with a water baby was something else.
You glanced over towards your daughter where she sat on a bean bag chair, watching cartoons. She had her fist in her mouth, gnawing peacefully.
After getting a bottle of water for your boyfriend, you walked out of the small trailer and walked over to Eddie, who was filling the pool with the hose.
“Need water?” You asked as you walked closer. “I need something that’s not water.” He said, eyeing you up and down.
“Calm down, it’s mostly from the baby deciding to splash around today in the tub.” You both smiled.
“Either way, you’re a hot ass mom!” He kissed the hand that was handing over the water. “Oh yes, get back to doing the pool for your daughter!” You laughed and playfully shoved him away.

Summer’s in Indiana weren’t a fun game when you didn’t have consistent  AC going or a large pool.
You watched from a towel as your daughter splashed around in the baby pool.
“You enjoying the water S?” You giggled as she nodded, making her sunhat flop around.
Eddie sighed as he walked out from the trailer and into the heat, he walked past your yard and near the street, you assumed a buyer would be stopping by.
A little bit went by and you were right, a car filled with high school seniors pulled up.
You got up from the towel and walked over to Stacy, she had started to show signs of being in need of a nap, you bent over and picked her up, before grabbing the towel and dried your baby off before going inside to settle her down.

While waiting for the buyer to grab the money from the glovebox of the car, he couldn’t help but listen to the boys in the back talking.
“It might be fucked up but i think im in love y/n, my god!”
“I knew y/n was always gonna be a milf!”
“Stacy’s mom got it going on, holy shit!”
Eddie’s head popped up, as the buyer handed him the money. Eddie handed the baggie of pills before walking away, the last comment about his comment stuck in his head.
“Stacy’s mom..?” He whispered, he sat down at the small dining table and picked up the paper he had laying around and scrambled to find a pen as the lyrics started to flow out.
You watched from the kitchen as Eddie scrambled around the living room for his guitar before playing a beat and muttering things to himself as he played.
After a few hours, he had jumped up from the table and walked over towards you, on the couch.
He leaned down and kissed you. “I love you.” You stared at him for a second. “What did you do?” You questioned, suspiciously.
“Nothing bad, I just wrote a song about you.” You raised an eyebrow, his answer peeked your interest.
“And what is this song about exactly?” You twirled one of his stray curls between your fingers. “Let me get my guitar and you’ll be my first listener.” You nodded and watched as he ran once again for his guitar.
“Stacy’s mom has got it going on, she’s all I want and I've waited for so long!” He sang to the beat.
“Stacy can’t you see, you’re just not the girl for me. I know it might be wrong but I'm in love with Stacy's mom.” He paused and watched your face for a reaction.
You smiled and clapped for him. “I love it! You’re basically saying I'm a hot mom!” You squealed, Eddie chuckled and kissed your shoulder and you wrapped your arms to give him a hug.
“She’s so gonna hate you for this song when she’s older ya’ know?” You said, still hugging.
“Oh I bet, especially since everyone knows who Stacy's mom is..” You both laughed.
“We’re so mean.” Eddie chuckled and kissed you.
“I know, now kiss me Stacy's mom!”

Finding the truth

Hawkins was as bleak as always for October. The last time those boots had been kicking the pieces of gravel across the grocery store parking lot he was younger, packing up a van and tugging his girl into arms before they drove off to start their next big adventure. That was five years ago and his girl had been gone for three of them.
It had been a nasty fight, at the time that was all the two of you could do. Being on the road was hard. Lots of late nights at dive bars and pretty girls throwing themselves at him after every show. By the time Corroded Coffin started rising, you were done with the whole rockstar scene. You weren’t sure how many more of these nights you could take. It was a frigid December night in Chicago, Eddie was being a little too friendly with the girl hanging out backstage and it was the final straw. There was shouting and the ring he had proposed to you with the year you left Hawkins was flung across the green room in a fit of rage.  For weeks you had been dealing with mood swings on top of feeling nauseous for no reason. You had chalked it up to the stress of being on tour with the boys. It wasn’t until the car was parked outside your mother's house in Hawkins, mascara staining cheeks from hours of crying, that you realized what made you feel like that. The three little plastic sticks you rushed out to buy only confirmed your suspicions.
------
There had been a day when Eddie was in town to grab up some last-minute items he had left behind. It was late into the pregnancy, literally counting down single-digit weeks until you were due. You had found a job that allowed you to work from home, meaning you didn’t have to go out much. Still, the July humidity kept you housebound for the remainder of the trimester and you could only pray that no one told him about your current state. Dustin had called panicking late on that Wednesday night as you were putting the final touches on the nursery.
“Eddie wants to talk to you” you didn’t even get a chance to properly say hello. Dustin was trying to warn you that your cover would be blown. “He’s wanting to know why everyone in town is avoiding him like the plague-”
“Did you tell him?” anxiety crept into your voice as little kicks landed on your ribs. A ringless left hand rubbed over the spot your kid was wiggling in. They could tell you were nervous.
“No! I tried to act like I didn’t know what he was talking about but he told me he would just go to the source-”  there was a pause “I think he’s headed to your house”
It happened so fast. You stood up, going to shut the blinds and cut off the lamp when a gush of water left your lower region. You froze, inhaling sharply.
“Uh, Dustin I’m going to need you to find  Eddie and tell him some big lie. I think my water just broke.”
-----
Dustin had convinced Eddie of the lie, you told everyone he was cheating while on tour. That’s the reason everyone gave him dirty looks and mumbled behind his back when he went to places. It was enough to not make him want to find you. Instead, he packed up the rest of the stuff from the trailer and drove right out of Hawkins and past the hospital you were laboring in.
Shortly after leaving town, Eddie went on a world tour for two years but, he would call Wayne every Thursday before hopping on a plane and ask about everything.
“How’s the shit hole?”  “ s’good. Nothing changed since the last time” “How is she?” He would always ask about you, never being able to help himself. Wayne might have been the one to let it slip that you had returned to town that fateful night but he never gave away your secret. He would only reply with “She’s good,” and change the subject. Not once did he mention the curly-haired baby he would often visit before going to work.
-----
Three years of being out of the shit hole since that night and yet here he was, laced up boots marching across the parking lot mumbling about needing smokes. Earlier that morning he cruised in and was confronted with the same mumbles and stares as before. Everywhere he went people still tensed up at the sight of him, had he really broken your heart that bad? He pulled himself from his thoughts and paused, the sight of your mother situating something into the plastic grocery cart next to her car making him cock his head to the side. The wind carried her voice to him and it was softer than he remembered.
“We’re going to go get you a basket and maybe we can look at the costumes or gran can make you one baby,” His eyes widened as she pushed towards the door, a chunky little toddler sitting in the seat in front of her. They couldn’t be more than two, maybe three. The little tyke was babbling away about what they wanted to be for Halloween, some of it unintelligible but your mom just smiled and nodded.
She pushed back the copper curls on their forehead and sighed. The little one felt Eddie’s gaze on them and turned to look, brown eyes locking with the identical match across the lot. It caused them to smile and let out a little squeal. Eddie could feel the tears pricking, he was a fucking dad. There was no denying between the curls and eyes, the way the kid is so animated when talking, that it was his.
He had wanted to start a family for so long, dreamt of coming back here to you and grovel, get you back and settle down. He had no idea you had already started. There was a pang of something he couldn’t name growing in his gut. Jealousy? Rage? Sadness? Joy? It made him sick. The roller coaster just bottomed out and he was trying to stay steady.
The idea of smoking was long gone, he was backing up toward his car not breaking his eyes on the kid in the cart. There was only one place to go where he knew the answer would be given without much force.
-----
“You knew the whole fucking time?” He watched Dustin flinch at his words. On the drive over to the Henderson place, he decided his new emotion was rage. How dare you keep this secret from him? “You knew the whole time and not once did you stop and think ‘hey, maybe Eddie needs to know’ ?”
“I promised her I wouldn’t tell you,” Dustin wouldn’t make eye contact with him, the guilt eating at him. He didn’t want to keep Eddie out of the loop but between the lack of communication from the tours and the stories you sobbed out after returning home, Dustin just wanted to protect you. “Man, she was screwed up when she came back. She had finally started to become more like herself when you decided to roll back into town and...” he paused, unsure to spill the rest.
“what Henderson? And what?” Eddie pressed, growing impatient.
“And... the night I told you that she spread the rumor about you sleeping with all those girls she went into labor. It was her idea.” Dustin curled up, protecting his head waiting on a smack.
It never came, instead, Eddie leaned against the wall and slowly slid down until his backside felt the shag carpet underneath his jeans. His dark eyes focused on the rings on his hand, the Emerald you used to wear wrapped around his pinky. He remembered pulling up the house that night, lights off, and no cars in the driveway. Had he been a minute sooner he would have seen you waddle down the porch steps clutching your hospital bag while your mom ran over to start the car. Had he been there he could have been there to go to the hospital.
After a few beats of silence, he finally broke the spell, “So.. they’re three?”
“Yeah, she just turned it,” Eddie's eyes flicked up to meet Dustin’s gaze, tears threatening to spill.
“She? I have a daughter?” Dustin continued to nod, a shit-eating grin spreading across his face. The younger boy reached down under the bed and pulled out a shoebox, opening it up and handing Eddie the contents inside.
“Her name is Willow- I tried to talk her into Arwen but she wouldn’t budge. We call her Will though,” Eddie’s thumb and forefinger pinch the first photo, one of you and Willow cuddled up in a hospital bed the day after she was born. Eddie smiled, feeling a hot tear roll down his cheek at the sight. He flips to another photo in the stack, this one of you and baby Willow nose to nose. Her hands are covered in chunks of cake and frosting, both of them placed on your cheeks as the two of you grin at each other. Another photo is of Wayne and Willow, sitting on a hay bale at the pumpkin patch, both of them looking at something in the distance. “It’s crazy man, she’s like your little twin. She has your eyes, your attitude, the other day she threw this tantrum when I went to go babysit her- it was very Munson of her.”
Eddie chose to not say anything, instead pouring over the three years of photos Dustin had collected. The idea that the little fifteen-year-old he had left behind in the dumpster fire of a town would grow to be a protector of his kid warmed his heart. He had managed to capture almost every life moment on film- from crawling to walking and her first tooth there was a polaroid photo for it. He finally set down the hoard of images and looked up at the now grown man.
“I need to see them, can you help?”

Same girlie here who requested part 2 of Eddie and pregnant reader, thank you it was soooo sweet 🥹💕 Imagining a little Munson is the cutest thing ever.
I was wondering if you’d ever do first time dad Eddie talking to his infant while rocking them to sleep as he paces in their nursery? It’s Eddie’s turn on the night shift of baby feeding and he takes that time to tell the baby whatever is on his chest at the moment.
Just a thought! Thanks so much 💕💕💕💕💕💕
Hii!! You're very welcome and thank you so much for supporting me!!
This one got me in the depth of my heart, I just couldn't bear to not think of him as the greatest dad, even if he was messy sometimes!!
Warning: None, just a whole lotta fluffiness
In the nursery, a clock read 2:30 AM in soft, red digital numbers. Eddie sat in a comfortable, padded rocking chair, his eyes heavy with fatigue as he wrapped your hungry baby in his arms. The room was bathed in the faint, soft glow of a nightlight, casting gentle shadows on the walls.
His movements are slow and deliberate to avoid any sudden jolts, lifting the baby to his chest. He grabbed a small nursing bottle with breast milk, gently offering it to the baby, who immediately started suckling on it. Eddie's mind wandered as he stared into the night, his thoughts a mixture of exhaustion and profound contentment.
He thought about the challenges of parenthood, as his first time being a father, and the deep bond that was forming between him and his child during these late-night feedings. As the baby finished feeding and their little tummy felt full, Eddie carefully burped them, the gentle patting motion lulling the baby into a state of drowsiness. With great care, he repositioned the baby in his arms.
The room was dimly lit, bathed in the soft glow of a nightlight that cast a gentle, warm hue across the nursery. The air was filled with the hushed sounds of a lullaby playing softly from a nearby speaker. Eddie stood by the crib, his tired eyes reflecting the weariness of a long day, but his heart brimming with love.
In his arms, he cradled his precious baby, who was nestled snugly in a cozy, pastel-colored blanket. The baby's tiny fingers curled around one of Munson's index fingers, a sight that never failed to melt his heart.
Eddie's free hand gently supported the baby's head, ensuring it was cradled securely. As he began to sway gently back and forth, his movements synced with the rhythm of the lullaby.
The chair beneath him creaked softly, a familiar sound that had become a soothing backdrop to these late-night rituals. Eddie's voice, a soothing baritone, filled the room as he softly started a conversation with his infant.
His words were gentle and tender, a promise of love and protection. The baby's eyes, still so round and innocent, gazed up at him with a mixture of curiosity and trust. "I am so thankful your mommy trusted me with this. She's absolutely one hell of a woman for doing that".
While he still looked at the small child in his arms, he couldn't help but smile at his thoughts. The very day you called him, a nervous tone in your voice as you told him you wanted to have a conversation, made him feel nervous. He thought about all the possibilities the subject might be, making him almost sick.
"And she made sure you're going to be a Munson too, it just made me love her even more", he chuckles lightly, shaking his index finger slowly. Outside, a gentle rain began to fall, and the pitter-patter of droplets against the window added a comforting layer to the ambiance.
Eddie's lips brushed against the baby's downy head, and he breathed in the sweet, milky scent that was uniquely their own. The world beyond the nursery seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them in this quiet, intimate moment.
Munson's heart swelled with love as he watched his baby's eyelids grow heavy, the tiny lashes fluttering before finally closing. With each gentle sway, the baby's breathing grew slower and deeper, a sign that sleep was approaching.
Eddie continued to rock, his movements a tender dance born of love and exhaustion. In that serene room, time seemed to stand still, and Eddie knew that he would cherish these moments forever.
As your baby drifted off to sleep, he whispered sweet nothings and promises of a bright future, knowing that he would always be there to protect and care for the precious life in his arms.
You walked in on him holding your child and you instantly smile at the scene. God, you loved watching the way he would effortlessly paces your baby. Eddie caught your glance and opened the biggest smile, using the index finger the baby is holding to wave at you in the sweetest way as possible.
You mutter the words "I love you" and he mirrors you, blowing you a gentle kiss. Before leaving the room, he made sure your baby was safe in the crib, well-fed and quietly sleeping. Munson never thought, in a million years, he would become a father that soon, without a warning. But the efforts and the promises he made you were the only support he needed to stand by you.
Every time he was there taking care of the child, he couldn't help but to imagine how the next years would follow. He was still 19, a long way ahead of him, an unexplored future he had no idea about. But those moments in the present already made him feel fulfilled.

The Pariah and the Freak
Part 3: telling the parents.
Tumblr media
Summary: Eddie and (Y/n) bring their families together for dinner in order to tell them the big news unfortunately it doesn’t go as planned.
"Hey Eds” (y/n) breathes anxiously. "Hey sweetheart, these are for you” Eddie grins offering her a bundle of picked flowers. (Y/n)'s nervousness melts a little as she accepts the flowers and gives him a kiss on the cheek. "They're beautiful, thank you” she says with a grin. He steps into the house while shrugging off his leather jacket.
Eddie is dressed in a nice button-up with his normal jeans, his hair as tidy as he could manage. Behind him steps in Wayne, dressed in a fall-colored flannel with blue jeans. "Hi Wayne, nice to see you again” she greets. "You too darlin” Wayne agrees with a nod.
Awkward heavy silence filled the dining room. Mr. and Mrs. (Y/l/n) sat across from Eddie and (Y/n), while Wayne took up a spot at the end of the table. There wasn't a lot that Wayne wouldn't do for his nephew but spending his only night off like this was definitely something he hadn't expected. Eddie and (Y/n) sought comfort in each other holding hands under the table.
"This is really good Mrs. (Y/l/n)" Eddie awkwardly broke the silence. Mrs. (Y/l/n) managed to muster a tight-lipped smile. "Thank you Edward, it's an old family recipe" she responded. Eddie imagined their child someday inheriting treasured family recipes. He made a mental note to ask Wayne to jot down his famous chili and tomato soup recipes.
However (Y/n)'s father seemed to be simmering with disapproval throughout the entire evening. He scrutinized Eddie with piercing eyes interrogating him about every aspect of his life, from school to work, to the band, and even the van he drove. The metal head answers truthfully and respectfully but still nervously, while (y/n) squeezes his hand under the table. Wayne somehow managed to bite his tongue while still giving his nephew looks. Mr. (Y/l/n) is just in utter disbelief that his little princess could bring home such a boy.
The table goes back to awkward silence yet again. The young couple share a look and (y/n) offers Eddie a small nod. "Look um everyone, there's a reason we wanted to get together tonight, not just for you guys to meet” (y/n) breathes. "We've got some news, good news. (Y/n) is pregnant, we’re uh, having a baby” Eddie says taking control of the conversation.
Wayne nearly chokes on his drink, while Mrs. (Y/l/n)'s eyes tear up, and her father scowls. "Oh god” Mrs. (Y/l/n) cries bringing her napkin to her mouth. "Mom, dad, we know this isn't ideal, but-" (y/n) begins to explain. The scraping of her father's chair against the floor interrupts her mid-sentence.
"Ideal? You bring home this-this miscreant, and you just expect us to, what, congratulate you?" her father spits. "Hey now, I know this isn't what any of us were expecting, but my boy is not a miscreant” Wayne says standing up. "Oh please, my daughter was a good girl, and then he comes in with his long hair and tattoos and knocks her up!" her father bellows.
"Daddy, please listen, Eddie is a good guy just give him a chance” (y/n) pleads standing up from the table. "You had so much potential! You had good grades, good social standing, you were a cheerleader for god's sake!" he argues, smoke practically pouring from his ears. "Oh god, she'll be kicked from the team. What will Heather and Veronica think when they hear?" her mom worries about the embarrassment.
"It's okay, we can fix this. We'll just drive her down to that clinic, the one Bill brought his daughter to over in Indianapolis. Mistakes happen we can fix it, her life doesn't have to be over” her father announces, grabbing his keys. "Dad, I know it's hard to believe but this is what we want. I don't want to fix it” (y/n) says .
He spins around, wearing a deep angry frown. "You are a child you do not get a say in this” he snaps. (Y/n) flinches back a little not used to seeing her father so angry. Eddie is on his feet and by her side now. "She's the only one with any say actually” he counters, his eyes narrowing at the man.
"You are living under my roof, young lady. We are getting this taken care of tonight. We have spent eighteen years giving you the perfect life, not for you to screw it up by getting knocked up by some trailer park trash” her father rants, grabbing her by the wrist. He begins trying to drag her off to the door like she's a petulant child.
Understanding that he needed to protect the woman he loved, Eddie swiftly intervened pulling her from his grasp and standing between them. "Look, I don't give a shit what you call me. But don't touch her like that again” Eddie warned. Unrelenting (Y/n)'s father made another attempt to
"Excuse me boy, but you have done enough here” the older man snarls. He attempts to get to his daughter, but Eddie blocks his path. "I think we all just need to calm down and let the kids talk if they say they've got this figured out" Wayne says trying to ease the tension. "We do, and I promise Eddie is really good to me and you'll like him if you just give him a chance" (y/n) pleas desperately trying to bridge the widening gap between her family and herself.
"No daughter of mine is gonna be a mom at 18. You do not get to embarrass this family by being pregnant in high school, especially not with his baby” her father scoffs, gesturing towards Eddie. "Maybe we should hear them out," her mother frets. "That's all we're asking Dad please! Eddie and I have this figured out" (y/n) attempts one last time.
"I know I'm probably not what you pictured when you thought of the father of your grandchildren, but that doesn't matter now. What matters is that I love your daughter, and I love our kid already and I won't stand here and let you hurt either of them” Eddie says confidently. Eddie seems not to notice what he just revealed, however (Y/n) heard it loud and clear. Her heart swelled with love, knowing that the man standing before her was ready to stand by her side no matter what.
Her father shakes his head looking away from his daughter. "I did not raise you to be a damned whore. Either you get this taken care of, or you leave” he says coldly. The room goes silent at the ultimatum. "Honey, please” her mother begs.
"You have ten minutes. Get your stuff and get out of my house” he orders exiting into the garage. Her mom follows and the door slams behind them. "Wayne, I'm sorry about all this” Eddie says quietly, letting out a breath. "We'll talk about this later son, just help her get her things together” Wayne interjected extending a calming hand.
"C'mon, sweetheart let's grab your stuff alright?" Eddie whispers wrapping an arm around her again. She nods silently, letting him lead her up the stairs into her room. He can hear the sniffles she's trying to silence and see the tears she hastily wipes away. The second the door to her room shuts he wraps her in a tight hug. "It's alright, I got you. I promise” Eddie murmured his lips pressing gently against the top of her head.
He sees the clock on her dresser and notices a couple of minutes have gone by. "You wanna sit down? I'll grab your things?" Eddie asks eager to ease her burden. "No no um, I'll help. Will you um, grab my bag over there?" she asks.
Eddie nodded wiping away the tears that stained her cheeks. "Whatever you need, sweetheart I'm here” he assured her their lips meeting in a soft comforting kiss. Together they packed (Y/n)'s belongings the room's atmosphere heavy with unspoken words. "I'm sorry about all this. Maybe me being involved wasn't such a good idea I didn't mean for your life to implode" Eddie confessed quietly.
Shaking her head with a weak smile and teary eyes (Y/n) held his hand tightly. "I'm glad you're involved Eddie. I hate to think what would have happened tonight if you weren't here” she admitted gratitude coursing through her. "Told you I'd take care of you both of you," Eddie said, his smile growing as his free hand moved to her stomach. Their lips met once more.
"Let's get you out of here” Eddie says quietly his arm enveloping (Y/n) once again as they made their way downstairs. Wayne waits by the door. "Do you think you could give me a ride to Chrissy's place Eds? I think I should be good to hide out there at least until her mom finds out” (Y/n) requested turning to face Eddie. "You can do that or you can come on home with us darlin' the choice is yours” Wayne offered surprising both (Y/n) and Eddie with his kindness.
"Are you sure? I feel like I've already been enough of a burden tonight” (Y/n) frowned. Grabbing her backpack gently Wayne shook his head. "I'll tell you the same thing I once told my nephew: you make do for family” he said lightly squeezing her shoulder.
Grateful Eddie thanked his uncle nodding with appreciation. The three of them exited the house with Wayne instructing Eddie to drive carefully. Assisting (Y/n) into the passenger seat Eddie ensured she was buckled in before closing the door. His actions elicited a small laugh from her a momentary release from the turmoil that surrounded them. “I can do that myself you know?” She giggles as Eddie climbs in.
He smiles a boyish smirk. “I know but you’re precious cargo sweets” he winks. As they pulled away from the house, (Y/n) couldn't help but feel a tinge of hope. Her life might have taken an unexpected twist, but with Eddie by her side they would face whatever challenges lay ahead. And she knew that together they could handle it.
Most of the drive is quiet. Black Sabbath playing from the speakers. (Y/n) keeps her eyes mostly out the window or focused on her hands. The van rolls up to a stop sign before (y/n) breaks the silence. “So that went well” she laughs even though it doesn’t reach her eyes.
“Yeah, how are you doing?”
“I mean it doesn’t feel great being homeless”
“I’m sure that was hard but I promise you aren’t homeless. You’ll just stay with me and Wayne till you and I can move out alright?”
“I just don’t want to cause any trouble for either of you. I feel like I’ve already made such a mess of things”
Eddie puts the van in park looking over at her. He cups her cheek in his ring covered hand looking into her eyes. “Stop that, all that stuff your dad said was bullshit alright? You didn’t make a mess of anything I swear” he promises her. Once she nods he quickly presses their lips together.
“I was actually saving up for a place of my own before you and the baby came along so we won’t even need to stay with Wayne much longer”
“This all seems so crazy I mean we’ve only been on three dates and we’re moving in together”
“I know it does but y’know what- wait we’ve only been on two dates: the movie last night and Benny’s?”
“Well technically I did say that the party was a date”
“That doesn’t count”
“What why?”
“It just doesn’t that’s not how I want you to think of our first date”
“Fine but that only makes it worse just two dates, I sound like a floozy or like I’m incredibly lovesick desperate enough to jump on the first guy who gives her affection”
“I think you’re being way too hard on yourself first of all. Secondly if anyone here is lovesick it’s me I’m the one who initiated all this remember?”
“I know I just worry how quickly we’re rushing this”
“Then we won’t rush we don’t have to move out just yet”
“Right okay, that’s a plan. If we do move out you’ll at least let me contribute? I have some money saved up”
“Aren’t I supposed to be the provider or some shit? I mean you’re growing our baby that feels like a huge contribution to me”
“Edward Munson”
“Fine yes ma’am”
“You know something else was said tonight I was curious about”
“And what’s that”
“You told my dad you love me”
Eddie takes in a deep breath leaning back in his seat. It was something that had definitely come out in the heat of the moment not the way he had planned for it to. “Yeah that did come out didnt it, look that wasn’t how I wanted that to go, is there anyway I could get a do over maybe after a couple more dates?” He asks. (Y/n) nods before kissing him much slower this time. “Sure Eds you can have a do over” she smiles.
When they get to the trailer Wayne is already there and sends them a nod. “I’m gonna get her settled then we can talk” Eddie says to his uncle. “Take your time. Darlin you try and have a goodnight alright you and I can have a chat tomorrow about livin arrangements” Wayne assures her. (Y/n) nodded quickly giving Wayne an unexpected hug.
He returned it giving her a small pat on the back. “Make yourself at home I mean it” Wayne promised when they separated. (Y/n) smiled returning to Eddie’s arms. He leads her to his room with a small kiss to the crown of her head.
When Eddie enters the living room Wayne is sat in his recliner two unopened beers sat on the coffee table. “She doin alright?” He asks. Eddie takes a breath sitting down. “Probably about as good as she can be” he answers grabbing one of the cans. Wayne nods silently grabbing his own drink.
“I’m sorry about all this”
“Were you careful at least? I mean I bought you those condoms for a reason”
“I know you didn’t want to raise another kid that wasn’t yours but you won’t have to raise this one. I really want to Wayne, I want to be a dad. Be the dad I never had y’know? The kind you were”
“And you’re sure about all this?”
“More sure than I’ve ever been”
“Then I’m happy for you son and I’ll do what I can to help”
Taking that as a sign of approval Eddie reaches into his back pocket pulling out his wallet. He’s careful pulling the small photo from it passing it over to his uncle. “This the peanut?” Wayne asks quietly looking over the picture. “We uh talked about it and I know technically you’d be great uncle but how do you feel about being a grandpa?” Eddie asks. When Eddie looks over at his uncle he can the the slight water to the man’s eyes.
“Grandpa?” Wayne asks. “Yeah I mean especially after tonight we want our kid to have a family. And since he didn’t exactly love the whole dad thing I doubt Al’s gonna be stepping up to be a grandpa any time soon” Eddie explains. Wayne takes in a shaky breath nodding slowly. “Yeah son I think that has a nice ring to it” Wayne answers clearing his throat.
There’s another pause as Wayne admires the photograph. Wayne stands up and Eddie quickly joins him. The two share their most earnest version hug. “I uh should go check on her, thank you again Wayne” Eddie coughs when they separate. “Have a Goodnight son.”

Mood Swings. Dad! Eddie series. *FLUFF*
Tumblr media
(My header)
Summary: Dustin has to call Eddie to come home from work after he makes reader cry uncontrollably.
TW: Eddie having no patience. Mood swings (Crying).
Word count: 1.2k
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She waddles over to the front door, opening it to see Dustin’s cute little smile staring back at her. “Hey Dusty. Eddie said you were going to be coming by.” She moves out of the way to let him in.
“Yeah, the vcr at my house hasn’t been working and I have to watch this documentary for science class.” He says, holding the tape in his hand.
“No worries, I’m washing some clothes and stuff for the baby so I’ll be around. If you want anything to eat or snack on, let me know.” She rubs his back sweetly.
“Actually, Eddie kinda mentioned you made me lemon bars that are delicious… do you have any more?” He smiles.
“For Eddie’s first child, anything.” She jokes. “Follow me.”
***
“Munson! Phone call for you on line one.” Eddie’s boss calls from the office, waving him in.
Eddie immediately panics, putting the tools that were in his hand down and rushing in.
She was still 3 months out from birth, but he finally started to read the pregnancy books she had been begging him to read the past few months and he knew all about early labor, and it freaked him out. “Is it my wife?” He asks with wide eyes.
“It was some kid, said he needed to talk to you?” He shrugs his shoulders, leaving Eddie alone.
Eddie presses the button, putting the phone up to his ear. “Hello?”
“Hey, Eddie… uhh it’s Dustin.”
“Hey, what’s up? Everything alright?”
“Yes and no.” Dustin says unsure, looking at Eddie’s wife sobbing into the tissue in her hand. “I might have, inadvertently, broke your wife.”
“The fuck do you mean you broke her? What’s wrong?” He spits into the receiver, losing patience.
“Well I came over to watch that video and she started watching along with me because it was about sea turtles, and she said loves sea turtles. So they showed-,”
“Dustin, the point.” Eddie cuts him off.
“Right, umm. She hasn’t stopped crying for the past 20 minutes and I don’t know what to do. I can’t get her to stop.”
Eddie sighs, knowing what Dustin was feeling, being in Dustin’s place many times the past month. “Tell her that I’m going to be on my way. Can you stay until I get there?”
“Yeah… sure.” Dustin grimaces, not sure how to comfort her. “Can you hurry?”
***
Eddie unlocks the front door, pushing the door open to see his wife and Dustin on the couch, Dustin’s hand awkwardly resting on her shoulder while she wept on the couch. As he walks in, he looks at the tv long enough to see that the tape Dustin was watching was about how sea turtles were endangered and why.
Eddie comes up behind Dustin and smacks him upside his head.
“Ow!” Dustin whines, frowning at Eddie.
“You don’t know how to get her to stop crying? Turn the tape off, Henderson.” Eddie says in a low tone, grabbing the remote and turning the tv off. “You know she loves sea turtles and they’re talking about why they’re dying.”
“Eds? Why are you home? She asks through her tears.
“Hey, baby.” Eddie says softly to her. He picks Dustin up by the back of his shirt, ushering him off the couch. “Dustin called and said you were a little sad. What happened?” He asks, kissing her cheek.
“I’m just…” Dustin starts to back up, grabbing his backpack from the chair. “I’m just gonna head on out, my mom is probably wondering where I’m at.” He laughs awkwardly.
“No, you’re staying. Sit.” Eddie points to the chair.
“I got so excited seeing the baby turtles hatch from their shells and I started to cry because they looked so cute and little.” She sniffles, her eyes getting glossy again. “And then the seagulls started to swarm the beach where the little baby turtles were trying to get to the ocean and then they said that a lot of the turtles die and don’t make it to go see their moms in the ocean because the seagulls eat them!” Fat tears started to roll down her cheeks as she relived the video. “It’s so sad! They’re so little, and they don’t know what’s going on.”
“Oh, baby. It’s okay.” Eddie brings her head into his chest, wrapping his arm around her. “I know it’s sad, but the birds gotta eat too, ya know?”
She sniffles into Eddie’s chest, a dramatic hiccup coming from her.
Dustin almost looked in horror at how truly dramatic the whole situation was. “What the fuck?” He mouths over to Eddie.
Eddie mouths silently, “The baby makes her…” He makes a mocking crying face.
“Hey, I’m really sorry. I didn’t know she was going to get so sad.” Dustin apologizes.
“It’s okay, Dustin. You were just trying to do your homework.” She says to him, trying to calm down. “I’m sorry I had a mental breakdown in front of you.”
“It’s okay. But I’m going to head out before it gets dark out. I’ll see you guys later.” Dustin practically runs out of their apartment, Eddie would get on his ass about being a wimp later.
“How about I make you something to eat? You and the baby hungry?”
More tears start to fill her eyes, small little whines being choked back.
“Baby, why are you still crying?”
“Because you had to leave work to get me to stop crying. Like when am I going to be normal again and stop crying over everything?” She cries, crumbling back into his chest.
Eddie really had to bite back a laugh, it wasn’t funny but it was a little funny. “Honey, it’s okay.” Eddie coos in her ear, rubbing her back in comfort. “The baby is just making you more emotional than usual. It’ll stop soon.”
She had really been doing good up until the last month and a half with controlling her mood swings, but a flip switched when she hit 6 months and she could cry at the drop of a hat. Eddie couldn’t tell you how many times the past few weeks he had accidentally made her cry over something he said or did. “I’ll be normal again, right?” She looks up at him with tears overflowing her eyes, her bottom eyelashes sticking together from the tears.
“God I hope so.” He mutters under his breath, thankful she didn’t hear the comment. “Of course, baby. You’ll go back to normal soon.” Eddie kisses her head, rubbing her head with his fingers. “Are you okay?”
She nods her head, wiping her eyes clear of tears. “Do you have to go back to work?” She asks, still hiccuping and sniffling.
“No, I have the rest of the night off to spend with you.” He boops her nose with his thumb. “Whatever you wanna do.”
“Can… can we go to the room?” She asks in a small, quiet voice. She didn’t have to further explain what she was hinting to, it was written all in her face.
“Wa- what, now?” Eddie asks with wide eyes, he swore he was going to get whiplash with how quickly her mood had changed.
She shakes her head quickly. “You being so nice and comforting kinda… did something to me.” The blotchiness around her eyes quickly faded, and the tears in her eyes dried as she waited for an answer, any signs of her being an emotional wreck were long gone.
Eddie lets out a breathy laugh before getting up off the couch like lightning. “Yeah, lets go.”
Your headcannons are so good 🔥🔥🔥 Since we already have Chrissy telling Eddie she's pregnant, I would love one with Chrissy's pregnancy. I always imagined Eddie as a super overprotective dad-to-be, always hovering. Maybe throw in her mom too for added angst.
Eddie x Chrissy Pregnancy Headcanons 🤍
An: thank you so so much for this request 🥺 I hope you like it angel <3
Tumblr media
Eddie is literally the most protective, proud father to be
After hearing the news, Eddie would happily walk around with a huge smirk on his face
“What’s got you all happy, hmmm?” Chrissy would giggle
“Oh, you know,” he’d playfully reply back, blushing like a school girl
Eddie would 100% call up the old hellfire gang to share the news
Chrissy getting hit hard with the unfortunate first trimester symptoms
Eddie always being there to hold back her hair every morning she races to the toilet
Hed rub soothing circles on her shoulder and also carry her back to bed because it’s still early
Chrissy would be raging with hormones
Tearing up every time Eddie has to go to work
“D-Do you have to go?” She’d sniffle as Eddie would stroke her cheek, his heart breaking just a tiny bit
Her hormones would also make her question her abilities to be a mother
Thinking about her own mother and how horrible she treated her own daughter makes Chrissy cry
She could never do that to her baby
I believe after moving out with Eddie, Chrissy would have zero to very little communication with her parents. So her pregnancy would pretty much be unknown to them
Eddie also listens to her struggles but is there to reassure her that Chrissys the most kindest soul he’s ever met
Eddie teasing her during dinner
“Hey baby, do you want a beer?”
They both have this joke that when they refer to the baby they call it their ‘86 Baby
It’s literally just a silly homage to their graduation
Eddie secretly reading baby books so that he can impress her with all the interesting information about what happens during each trimester
He loves going to every appointment with her and keeps every ultrasound picture in his wallet or on their fridge
When Chrissy starts to show, she feels a little insecure because mentally it brings her back to her mothers horrible comments my poor baby tbh :(
Eddie literally drools over her and cant keep his eyes off her bump
His hands also can’t stay off it. They’d always be lovingly rubbing her stomach up and down
Chrissy taking up knitting as a hobby to pass time while she’s alone during the day
Always showing Eddie the different creations she knits for the baby
“Do you like it?” She’d hold up the tiny blanket she spent all afternoon knitting
The both of them would literally be glowing
Eddie has that dad to be glow while Chrissy obviously has that pregnancy glow
Chrissy constantly wearing the cutest maternity dresses
Chrissy and Eddie wouldn’t want to know the sex of their baby, so they keep it a surprise
Deep down, she knows it’s a girl (ummm girl dad! Eddie hello??)
All the baby stuff they buy is completely gender neutral and super minimalist tho
The day the baby starts to kick, Eddie isn’t there
Chrissy phones his work and tells him instead
When she’s halfway through her second trimester, sleeping becomes a bit of a hassle because of her small frame
To help, Eddie allows her to sleep on top of him. His arms would be wrapped fully around her bump
Sometimes when she sleeps, he can feel the baby kick and it makes his heart flutter
Eddie putting headphones on her stomach so that the baby can hear the mixtape he made for them
“You gotta start ‘em young, babe,” Eddie would justify in terms of wanting his kid to have the best taste in music like their father
Chrissy constantly craving sweets
Eddie being awoken by her light touch as she sweetly asks him to go to the gas station to buy her a bunch of chocolate bars
Though it would be 3am, he’d gladly do it with a smile on his face
There isn’t anything he wouldn’t do for Chrissy and their soon to be born baby 🥺🤍
Tysm for reading babies 🥺 reqs are open :3
Heyyy can you make an Eddie fanfic where Eddie and fem reader are grown up and married and they have a little daughter who’s probably like 2 or 3 and for Father’s Day reader takes the kid to a pottery painting place and the kid paints a mug or something for Eddie and he loves it so much and uses it everyday
Masterlist - Taglist - Requests are open
There was one tradition Eddie had decided to keep up even after he moved out of his uncle's trailer, the obsessive collection of mugs. It was the one thing Eddie was absolutely incessant about having. And while your collection was nowhere close to the size Eddie and Wayne had, it was still quite sizable after the past few years of collecting together.
Which is how your kitchen had gone from looking at least semi normal, to becoming a museum of mugs from seemingly every corner of the world. Wherever you went, if they had mugs you could expect at least one of them to come home with you.
But there was one mug that Eddie used more than any else, and one he would never ever be able to exchange for anything else. The mug with a completely lopsided handle, an uneven brim, and clumsy flowers and words painted on it.
It is his absolute favourite mug in the whole entire world, and nothing would ever be able to replace it. That is unless she makes him a new one next year.
The mug had been his first official fathers day present from his little munchkin that she had made all on her own, with just a little bit of help from you.
Which in all honesty was a mess of clay and paint, but little Violet had been so proud of it when she was done and she couldn’t wait to give it to her daddy.
Wrapped in crooked and half torn colourful wrapping paper, and a card she drew all by herself with her small box of crayons.
The look on Eddie’s face when he unwrapped the mug was absolutely priceless, and every time after he used that mug for his morning coffee a bit of that smile returned to his face. And he was so proud of it, knowing that it was his mug that Violet had made for him absolutely made his heart swell.
Thinking about how if Eddie had made it.
How much he’d want to be a better dad than his own, and he works hard everyday to prove that he is when your little girl is born.
She’s sweet and kind and a tad bit overly emotional during her younger years, and he takes it all in stride.
Doesn’t get mad when she gets into his old nail polish and makes a mess one day, doesn’t get mad when he sees the new stain on the carpet.
Just wipes away her little tears and accepts her babbled apologies, making a deal that he’ll help if she promises to just ask next time.
She’s still sniffly but no longer crying when he’s sitting on the floor with her in his lap, carefully painting her tiny little nails, a look of sheer concentration on his face, hair pulled back by one of your clips.
“Daddy…?”
He hums out a questioning reply as she speaks quietly, eyes glued to his work.
“You’re really good at this,” she compliments, and he chuckles, pressing a sweet kiss to the side of her head.
“Lots of practice, sweetheart,” he replies, looking up at you in the doorway, shooting you a quick wink.
It takes everything in you not to call your parents to ask to babysit that night so you give him another one.
Part Two: Apple
Gone But Not Forgotten.
Eddie Munson x Reader
Part Two of five > Masterlist for it >
HERE
Tumblr media
(Special thanks to @syddsatyrn for being my beta reader, love u so much)
AN: IM SO INCREDIBLY SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG TO GET OUT. I KNOW THERES A FEW OF YOU WHO HAVE BEEN WAITING SO PATIENTLY AND I THANK YOU FOR THAT. I HOPE YOU ENJOY PART TWO
Wordcount:3000 Warnings: fem!reader, mom!reader
APPLE.
Panic. Panic was the best word you could describe how you were feeling, maybe a little nauseous, also nervous? How else were you supposed to be feeling right now? Flitting around your apartment from room to room trying to tidy everything, and organize things in preparation for Eddie to come over for dinner.
Robin sat on the kitchen counter, feet swinging back and forth, stopping softly each time to prevent her heels from hitting the cabinet door. She watched Elora from her spot, keeping an eye while she babbled to herself quietly, playing with her toys in the gated off living room, safe from anything that could cause her harm, other than herself. She was clumsy just like her dad.
You smiled at your daughter, lost in her own world before returning your attention to the task at hand, which was for some reason organizing under the kitchen sink. You frowned looking at the two different cleaners in your hands.
"Why are you cleaning places he won't even see?" Robin asked, as if reading your thoughts.
You shrugged. "I don't know, but I'm panicking Robin" you said looking up at her.
"Yeah I know," She laughed lightly. "You've been basically vibrating for over an hour already"
Your shoulders slumped slightly and you put the two bottles back under the sink, locking it with the child proof lock and standing back up facing Robin.
"It's just Eddie babe" Robin said softly. "You know he doesn't care about all that stuff"
Rubbing a hand over your tired face you sighed, taking a quick glance at your daughter. "I know Robs I just" You trailed off. "I feel like I have to pretend I have my life together, that I've been doing this so easily on my own, like I have to prove something to him? I know it's not his fault he got hurt, or that he was afraid to come back, but it still really hurt, and my kid has been growing up without her dad when he was just a touch out of reach this whole time" tears welled up in your eyes and you rubbed them away quickly, annoyed for getting emotional about it.
"He'll understand I promise, this is probably killing him more than he'll show, and you just know, that he still loves you, you were his world" she said coming over to you, wrapping her arms around you in a hug. You buried your face into her shoulder slightly, hugging her back. You could practically feel her love for you pouring into every part of your body, and it warmed you almost instantly.
"Thank you" you whispered.
"Ahh please, it's what I'm here for" Robin said laughing, quickly being interrupted by Elora, babbling passionately towards you, her hands holding onto the bars of the baby fence. "Mama!" she said with a small bounce of her feet.
You and Robin broke your hug apart so you could turn your attention to your sweet little girl. Walking the short distance from the kitchen to the living room, reaching down over the fence and under her armpits to lift her up onto your hip. "What's up buttercup?" You asked, pushing her dark curls away from her face, trying to tuck most of them behind her tiny ears. "Nack?" she said with a tilt of her head.
"You want a snack? Mama will get you a snack princess" You said bringing her with you towards the fridge. Reaching inside while still holding her tight on your hip you brought out a green apple, some cheese, and figured you'd give her a couple of crackers as well. Smiling at robin as you moved around your apartment, dragging the borrowed highchair from Mrs. Wheeler, loudly into the kitchen before buckling in the tiny child. Her feet moved wildly in excitement, uncharacteristically unfazed about being buckled in. You squinted at her briefly with a smile. "You are being so good today baby, what's your angle huh?" You said poking her cheeks, fingers wiggling just under her ear as you tickled her until she laughed. "You waiting for Eddie to get here before you start being bad? Gunna save a tantrum for him?" you teased her for a little longer until she was a happy mess of giggles and drool. Swiping your finger across her chin to catch the wet mess of her mouth, wiping it on your jeans as you returned to your snack duty.
"You're so good with her" Robin said smiling, resuming her position on the counter, only closer to Elora this time.
"I kinda have to be" I said, glancing over at the two of them fondly.
"I dunno, I know some pretty shitty parents" She faked a cough. "The Harringtons" Another cough.
I frowned. "Poor guy. Least he has us I guess?" You said scrunching your nose with a smile. You went back to facing the counter, peeling the skin off before cutting up half of the apple into tiny pieces, small enough that you knew Elora wouldn't choke on them. Cutting the cheese into the same small size, and chucking a few tiny baby wafers into a small bowl and placing it on the tray in front of her, knowing she would just end up pouring everything out onto the tray anyway.
"Can you say Thank you mama?" You asked, wiping your hands onto your jeans.
"Thank'ew mama" She munched away on them happily, leaning over to offer every few pieces to Robin, who took them with the same enthusiasm.
"Can't forget about my lovely parents" You said, forcing an excited voice for your daughter who was beaming back at you.
"Don't remind me" Robin groaned. "That's kind of how you and Eddie became friends isn't it?"
You laughed a little at the memory. "Yeah, shit I forgot about that"
Endless nights of your parents fighting, sometimes about you, sometimes about each other, but always about something. You tried stepping in, but it never ended well when you did, resulting in many bruised arms from quick aggressive hands that grabbed at you, and cheeks a little too rosy from a swift back handed slap, once leaving you with a thin cut from your mothers wedding ring she still wore.
On many nights Eddie had found you sitting on the table of the picnic bench, knees tucked up to your chest with your chin resting on them, arms wrapped tightly around your legs. Sometimes your face was tearstained, lines of mascara and eyeliner smudged everywhere, and on a few occasions mixed with the blood from your cheek. It took every ounce of control Eddie had to not stomp over to your trailer across the street and give them a piece of his mind, not to mention how badly he wanted to beat the shit out of your father. Instead he put his focus onto you, helping in any way that he could, and for a while it wasn't much.
He would sit quietly next to you, his shoulder leaning against your knee from where he sat on the bench, chain smoking until he physically couldn't take it anymore. The two of you would sit for hours if that's how long it took for your parents to stop screaming at each other, and when the house was finally quiet, you would thank Eddie with a kiss to his cheek and hurry back inside, to get as much sleep as you could before having to wake up for school and start the whole cycle again.
Eventually it led to you falling asleep on Eddies couch, tucked up into the armrest until Eddie would gently wake you, sometimes to walk you back home, or to lead you to his bed depending on how tired you were. You stopped fighting him on sleeping over after only a few times, finding that you slept better with him in your vicinity than in the comfort of your own bed.
In the short few months of your life continuing like this, the minute you turned eighteen Eddie convinced Steve to let you stay in one of his spare rooms, even offering to pay him or his parents rent. He would have offered for you to stay with him, but the two of you weren't dating, let alone even remotely close to that and for you to share the only bedroom in the trailer it wasn't very ideal.
So you stayed with Steve for a while and he helped you get a part time job at family video to get you some extra cash in your pocket, and some sense of stability other than relying on your friends, no matter how many times they reassured you it was fine. Eventually leaving family video to work at a record store alongside Eddie, the two of you became inseparable, and you worked well together, bouncing off of each others energy.
When the two of you finally started dating no one was surprised, although you both thought you had kept your crushes for each other hidden well, everyone else had a bet going on about how long it would take for it to happen. (Robin won, she observed the two of you the most, logging every interacting into a notebook built into her head)
Then a few years later, once again, Hawkins turned to shit. For the others, this wasn't the first time they basically had to save the world but for you and Eddie it was, bringing the two of you even closer together. All of that happened while you were in the early stages of your pregnancy, completely unaware, and scared shitless of the state of your small town, but Eddie did everything he could to comfort you. Despite maybe even being more afraid than he let on, you were his priority, and he was going to keep you safe no matter what because he promised you that.
He kept that promise, he kept it so well that for the last two years you thought he was dead, and almost all of your friends did as well. He kept himself away from you for so long, that you had a baby, his baby, your baby. A tiny bundle of joy that looked at you with the same brown eyes as Eddie. Although at first it was hard to look at her, seeing so much of him in her, you knew that what you did was the right thing, and that if Eddie had been around the two of you would have been amazing parents, but for now you'd do it alone, and you did and you do. Thankful for your friends, and their families, bringing you into their homes and lives. Giving you that sense of comfort, knowing you and your little girl were always going to be safe with these people, and that they were her family just as much as they were yours.
Shaking your head from the memories, Robin looked at you with a knowing smile.
"I guess I'll head out and leave you to it yeah?" She said softly while hopping off of the counter.
"I mean you could stay and we can all-" she cut you off before you could finish.
"Nope! I've got places to go and people to see'' She said while skipping over to grab her bag and shove her feet clumsily into her shoes before coming back to leave a wet kiss on Eloras cheek.
"Call me later!" She yelled running out the door.
Looking back from the door to your daughter she had the same look on her face you assumed you did. "Aunty Robin is a weirdo isn't she?"
"Yeah" She said back as if she understood what you said, continuing to munch on her crackers.
You were able to get almost a full hour of cleaning in before Elora wanted you to give her more attention, getting extra whiny when you said "Just one more minute babe promise" you said scrubbing down the counter for a final time.
Looking at the clock, you noticed you had a good amount of time to get yourself and your child ready for Eddie.
Thankful for your past self that convinced you to wash your hair last night, because it was much easier to manage today as you ran your fingers through it to get it decent looking. Elora sat in the middle of your bed, TV remote in hand babbling away to it, holding it up against her ear the wrong way pretending to be on the phone. You decided to dress yourself first, knowing that a toddlers outfit would only stay clean for so long so you figured you'd dress Elora at the last minute
Staring at yourself in your full length mirror you sighed. Not much about you had changed since Eddie last saw you all those years ago, but the butterflies in your stomach were making you feel like this was your first date all over again. A pair of black jeans hugged to your hips, and a simple red t-shirt over top, it was only dinner in your apartment so you didn't dress up too much. Added a simple pair of earrings, and the guitar pick necklace you adored so much before getting Elora dressed. Not wanting to fight your toddler and those quick legs when frustrated you dressed her in a pair of black leggings, and a pink love sleeve shirt with tiny cartoon frogs all over it, one of her favorites. A knock on your door made you jump just as you were tugging up one of her frilly socks.
"Wanna go see who's at the door?" You asked excitedly, reaching for your daughter, hands under her armpits to lift her up onto your hip.
When you opened the door, your breath hitched. There stood Eddie, almost timid looking, dressed in a white t-shirt and a pair of jeans, not a single rip in the knees, and a bouquet of flowers in his arms.
"Hi" He blushed, eyes flickering to Elora briefly, who held onto you tightly, eyes quizzical as she looked at Eddie.
"Well don't you clean up nice" you teased "Wanna come in?" You asked, moving away from the door to give him space. "I didn't expect you to be here on time" You said with a laugh, which he returned.
"Me either, but I just kept staring at the clock"
"Oh here, you can put those on the counter, let me put her down and I'll find a vase" you said walking towards the living room, placing Elora on the other side of the baby gate, picking up the closest toy you could reach and handing it to her to prevent any whining. It worked, she took the toy happily and stumbled her way over to the middle of the carpet before plopping down on her butt.
You skipped back to Eddie, looking between him and the flowers. Unsure of whether to hug him or not. Should you kiss him? maybe on the cheek? Questions racing through your mind while you busied yourself searching through one of the locked cabinets for the only vase you knew you had. "Ah ha!" You exclaimed, bringing the vase out and onto the counter. "Thank you, by the way" You said quickly, embarrassed that you forgot to give your thanks.
"Of course" he said with a shrug and a small smile.
You shoved the flowers into the vase as best as you could, cutting stems where needed and rearranging them until they looked perfect. Leaning back against the counter you crossed your arms over your chest, looking at Eddie with a smug look. "Cat got your tongue Munson?"
He was leaning up against the fridge, hands shoved deep into his pockets while he watched Elora play in the distance.
"That's my kid" he said in disbelief. "Our kid" he corrected.
"Yeah" You said, turning to glance at her quickly.
"Does she... Um" he trailed off, one hand coming to scratch at the back of his head.
"You can ask about her Eddie, she's your daughter as much as she is mine" You said hopping up onto the counter, hands landing in your lap.
"Does she know who I am?" he asked finally.
Your heart ached. "Of course she knows who you are Eddie"
"I just... Didn't know what you would have told her, I know she's too young to understand some stuff" he looked down.
You sighed, sliding off of the counter and over to him, tugging his hand out of his pocket and holding on it, pulling him along with you towards the living room. Unlocking the baby gate and re-locking it behind the two of you.
Leading him to the couch you sat down, tucking your legs up under you, patting the spot next to you encouraging Eddie to sit with you. Elora noticed the two of you had come to join her, standing up on wobbly legs and running full speed into the side of the couch, looking up at you with big mischievous eyes and a giggle.
"What's that look for, little miss?" you asked, poking her cheek and she giggled more.
"Up?" she asked. "Please?"
Unable to ever say no to her, you lifted her up and onto your lap. "Thank you for asking so nicely" she crawled up you, feet digging into your thighs as she leaned her chest against yours, pulling out your necklace to fiddle with. "Mommy?" she whispered, suddenly shy as she glanced between you and Eddie, who watched her fondly. "Um" her brows furrowed, trying to think of the words she knew to ask you the question she wanted.
"What's up baby?" you said tightening one of her pigtails, tilting your head down slightly to see her better.
"Daddy?" she said even quieter, pointing very quickly towards Eddie before bringing her hands back to your necklace.
You heard Eddie almost choke on his inhale and when you looked up at him, his eyes were as watery as yours. You smiled at him before looking back down, Elora already looking up at you. "Yeah baby, that's your daddy"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
rating: teen and up || pairing: steve harrington/eddie munson || word count: 6061 || read here
summary: Eddie leans forward a little and squeezes Steve’s shoulder. He whispers, “Or maybe I just want to see you when there is not 20 five-year-olds staring at me.”
From this proximity, Steve can smell his cologne and lingering car oil. He can feel his brain cells dying every second he inhales the intoxicating aroma. Steve breathes shallowly, too aware of the growing blush on his cheeks, and says, “S-sure. I’d like that.”
Eddie smirks and has the audacity to wink before going to each of his kids, ruffling their hair, and kissing them goodbye with a big wet smack on their cheeks. He passes by Steve again and murmurs, “I won’t say goodbye to you like that. Not yet, at least. Good luck with my little gremlins” before walking out the door.
Tumblr media
For seven days Eddie poured over pictures from Dustin and Wayne, memorizing how she looked at every moment of her life. He was in love with her and didn't even know her yet. But he did, he knew everything about her. Knew that she didn’t want to drink from a bottle for the first year of her life, loved the color green, and was basically a fish the past summer.
Dustin called you on day four, not letting you know that Eddie was back in town and listening to the conversation. You answered on the second ring, “Hello?” breathless as the sound of a tantrum took over the background.
“Sorry it’s Dusty- should I call back?” Eddie glared at the white receiver clutched in his friend's hand, willing you to say no. Hearing your voice for the first time hit hard. The breath was knocked from his lungs and he could picture you standing in the kitchen, barefoot most likely,  with the phone cradled between your shoulder and ear watching your daughter let out her emotions.
You sighed, “No, it’s fine. She’s been like this all day. I took her pacifier away last night and she is not happy.” Eddie can hear the frown you’re wearing on the other side.
“Oh well...” Dustin paused and looked at Eddie. “I have a surprise for you and Will. Wanna come over...” Eddie mouthed ‘Saturday’ to Dustin trying to stay quiet,  “Saturday to come see it?”
“Uh..” you were craning your neck to look at the calendar on the wall. No one noticed how quiet the background had gotten, “Yeah Saturday is good. I can be there for dinner?”
“Good, don’t forget to bring Willow over!”
“I won't Henderson,” you chuckled over the line. There was a loud crash and then a cry. “Oh shit, lemme call you back. Will just knocked something off the wall-” and the line went dead.
-------
It was a strange sight to see. Eddie Munson stooped down on the Barbie aisle of a Walmart close to Hawkins, looking for anything that screamed ‘I’m sorry I didn't know you existed this whole time but I love you.’ The pink clashed with his all-black outfit, making him stick out like a sore thumb. It didn't help that Dustin was hovering over him chastising every item he picked up.
“No you can't get that one- she got three mermaid barbies for her birthday this year,” Eddie let out a very dramatic sigh and sat the plastic box down, turning to his friend.
“If you don't shut up-” he threatened the kid. “I’m gonna shove a mermaid doll up your ass,”
“Dude,” Dustin waved his hand around, his voice coming out as a whisper. “Not in front of the Barbies!”
Eddie pinched the bridge of his nose. They had been up and down the aisle three times, each toy he picked up Dustin shot down. It was either a duplicate of one, had too many choking pieces, or she would never touch it. Why did he have to have the most spoiled and picky kid in all of Indiana? He was about to give up when he spotted it. A pink little electric guitar, the perfect toy for a rockstar’s kid. Eddie reached up to the top shelf it was hidden on and pulled it down, showing the item off to Dustin. “s’pretty metal, right?”
“I don’t know how metal a plastic guitar with Barbie’s face is but sure,” Dustin shrugged. He wouldn't tell him that Wayne got her that last Christmas.  “She’ll love it.” He was pretty sure it was collecting dust in the corner of Eddie’s old closet at the trailer.
-----
You weren’t sure what to expect Saturday when you pulled up to the Henderson household. Dustin had been living by himself for over a year now but did he really know how to cook? It was usually you who did the cooking and planning events for the small group of people. Willow sat on your hip, face snuggled up to the crook of your neck as you waited for Dustin to answer the front door.
The white front door creaked open, the face of Will’s “dusty-bun” greeting them with a grin that didn't reach his eyes. ”Hey hey hey there’s my favorite girl!”  He was hiding something- you recognized the look when he played with Eddie in Hellfire all those years ago. You raised an eyebrow at him as he reached to take the squirmy toddler from your grasp. “C’mon in. Dinner is almost done.”
“Dusty,” Willow squirmed when they walked into the living room, the pink guitar propped up in a chair. “s’that mines?” You were hit with the aroma of Italian cooking, the commotion in the kitchen distracting you from the toy. Dustin let her down and she scurried over to the chair, fingers tracing over the picture of Barbie on the hard plastic.
“Steve here?” You ask, dropping your car keys on the coffee table and heading towards the intoxicating aroma of cooked garlic. Dustin was right on your heels, hand tugging on the sleeve of your jacket making you halt. “What?”
“Before you go in there I just want you to know I tried really, really hard to keep this a secret. Like really hard but he knows how to crack me,” You furrowed your eyebrows, the sound of footfalls on the carpeted section making you turn.
Eddie stood in the door, a hand towel thrown over his shoulder and dark eyes looking you up and down. “Hey bug,” he offered, the old pet name rolling off his tongue with ease. Your eyes took him in, ripped black jeans, a black fitted tee, your engagement ring hanging from the chain around his neck.
Your breath caught in your throat, and for a split second, it was just the two of you. Had the circumstances been different this could have been just another normal day for the two of you. Dustin’s presence brought them back to their heartbreaking reality.
“Eddie?” You finally turned to Dustin with a groan. “You told him about Willow?”
“I figured it out on my own,” You turned back to face him, already feeling the walls you had built over the years starting to crack. At this moment the world-famous rockstar was just a guy. A guy who just found out he was a dad. Eddie seemed smaller standing in the doorway, eyes apologetic. “Saw your mom with her last week and I just had this gut feeling when she looked at me.”
Your eyes were locked on Eddie but his were locked on the small kid peaking from behind the couch- two sets of identical eyes focused on each other. Slowly he kneeled down to be the same height as her, an inviting smile dancing across his rosy lips. “Hi I’m Eddie,” he murmured to the girl, offering her a hand.
“I know,” Willow quips, cocking her head to the side and moving towards the male. “Gwandpa Wayne tells me stowies ‘bout you.” Dustin wrapped an around your shoulder, both of you taking in the scene. Willow moves cautiously to her dad, a little hand outstretched and ready to play with the long curls as soon as she's in reach. Eddie’s eyes look up at you waiting on a confirmation. You nod, knowing that you wouldn't be able to keep her away from him anymore.
Eddie pulls Willow into a hug, the child instinctively nuzzling her face into the crook of his neck and wrapping her little arms around his neck. She knew from the moment she saw him in the parking lot that day who he was. Wayne had spent countless hours telling her stories about dear old dad and what he was doing out in the world. Pictures of Eddie sat against the wall along with newspaper clippings about his band. Willow had grown up knowing her dad was a rockstar. Eddie kissed the top of her head, breathing in the scent of strawberry shampoo and the familiar scent of you.
“Well I really hate to break up this moment but, is dinner ready?” Dustin asked, squeezing your side with a smile. You shook your head, peeling yourself from his side and moving into the kitchen to see what Eddie had attempted to cook. Dustin stayed in his spot, watching Eddie interact with Willow.
You were busy setting the table, placing porcelain plates loaded down with spaghetti into the chairs when Eddie came into the room. The sounds of Dustin and Willow playing with the toy guitar floated from the other room.
“Hey,” it came from you softly, afraid that talking any louder would break the moment and the past would rear its ugly head back at the two of you.
“Hi,” Eddie’s fingers drummed against the tabletop, a nervous habit he had since middle school. “So.. we have a kid- s’fucking crazy.”
“Yeah it is,” you wrapped your arms around yourself, knowing good and well that you would reach for Eddie if you didn't. The moment was intoxicatingly domestic, something you had been yearning for over the years. “Are you mad?”
“At first, yeah. Almost knocked the shit outta Henderson when I came over last week but, uhh,” he rubbed the back of his neck, another nervous habit. “After I found out more about her I just wanted to meet her. She’s fucking perfect Bug.”
“Yeah, at least we did one thing right,” you turn away from him, moving to the counter to cut up the pieces of spaghetti for Willow to eat. You had thought about reaching out sometimes when Wayne had her for the weekend, but how does someone casually drop a bomb like that over an international call?
Your back was still turned to him, a fork cutting noodles and meatballs into smaller sections when Eddie moved from his spot to be closer to you. “Can we talk more about this later? Maybe Uncle Dusty can watch her tomorrow?” He was in your personal space, hand pressing into the small of your back. You searched his eyes for any trace of mischief but there was nothing joking in his gaze.
“Yeah, we can get lunch tomorrow?”
Pure Fire
“Fuck you” tears spilled from your eyes as you stared at the man you love. Loved. You had to remind yourself that as the untrue words left your mouth. You didn’t hate him. You never could. You saw a life with him and you’d carry that until the day you die.
“You’ve done that a few times already, sweets” always trying to make a joke. It’s what got you on that first date when you were seniors, the first time for him. Stupid jokes, yet still chivalrous and unique.
“This isn’t funny, Eddie. I don’t want… I don’t want to lose you. You go back there, keep Dustin safe, save the world, and I’ll be here with a kid who grows up with their dad. I already know how you’re mind works. You made your mind up earlier today” I ranted, violently wiping away tears. His shoulders slumped, accepting my words.
“Guess I’ll just have to come back then. I wanna do this, y/n. I need to give this kid the best life they can get” he tried to cup your cheeks, but you wouldn’t let him. Pushing his hands away, not looking at him. Letting him know how uncertain you are of this plan. Stubborn. The pair of you were nothing more than stubborn.
“Y/N, please. If you think it’s gonna go that way, at least let me look at you one more time” I shoved him hard, making him stumble.
“Fuck you!” I yelled. The kids peering through the stolen RV, never once hearing me shout like this.
“Okay, okay, I’m sorry!” He smirked. That fucking masochist. Why did you have to fall in love with him? That stupid nerd that likes playing fantasy games and shredding guitar in his free time. It just had to be him.
The one that wanted to prove everyone wrong. Going after a girl most people in thought was unapproachable and intimidating. He just had to have you, and he did in every single way. Fucking prick. No matter how much you tried, you still love him. And he wouldn’t back down. Acceptance would be the only thing to settle this.
“You come back to me, Eddie Munson. If you don’t, I’ll fucking kill you myself” you pointed at him, staring up at him with pure fear and rage.
“Alright, I’ll stick to the plan. Maybe get a few battle scars to get the kid into D&D since their mama doesn’t care for it” he smiled, grabbing your hand to pull you into his embrace. Holding you like it’d be his last. You hoped it wouldn’t.
“I’m serious, Eddie. You’re not leaving me alone with this baby. I have no fucking clue what I’m doing, and I’m not gonna turn into a crackhead like my own mother” you said into his chest. Taking shivering breaths as you let your anxiety take over.
“Hey, this kid’s gonna have the best mom around. She’s smart, gorgeous, and knows how to keep her husband in line” you pulled away to look at him in confusion. He simply smiled and brushed away your tears. “Told you I’m gonna marry you, sweets. Just saving up for a ring”
“I don’t need a fancy ring, Munson. Just you” he nodded. Placing a soft kiss on your lips. All the words he wanted say, in a sweet kiss before he left. You couldn’t have him have the last word, so you threw a rock at his back.
“I’m warning you, Munson. You come back in one piece” he saluted you, marching like a soldier back into the RV. You giggled sitting on the porch of your home. Still worried for your boyfriend’s life.
Even through the earthquake, you worried about him more than yourself. You didn’t hear anything and your dad was worried for your child’s life. Reminding you that it wasn’t healthy to worry.
“Come on, sweetheart. You need to eat, at least a nibble” he said. You shook your head, still violently bouncing your leg. Hoping your nerves were simply nerves.
“I’m not hungry. I just want to know he’s okay” you said softly. Just then the doorbell rang and you raced to the door much to your dad’s worry. You saw Steve, bruised and exhausted. No. It couldn’t be. He couldn’t.
“He’s alive, just a bit banged up. I just wanted to take you somewhere” you let go of the breath you were holding, tears escaping at the news.
“Fucking asshole wants to give me a heart attack” I huffed. “You still have your bat?”
“Yeah, why?” He asked as you grabbed your jacket.
“I’m gonna need it to beat his ass. Dad, I’ll be back!” You walked past Steve, getting into his car and staring at Dustin.
“Say goodbye to your Dungeon Master” you say. He nodded in fear.
“I told him this was a stupid idea” he defended.
“Stupid is right, and I believe in women’s rights” the drive was silent as you seethed in ever way imaginable. Both boys afraid to begin a conversation, afraid they’d be caught in your line of fire burning a path to wherever the hell Steve was driving.
“Where the hell are we?” You ask, not meaning to be harsh towards either of them. Steve hesitated before looking past you. Your head whipped around seeing the prick you love step out of the house. Bandages around his neck, bruised and still bloodied from whatever hell he survived.
“Give me the bat, Harrington” he shook his head and you quickly stepped out of the car and ran full force towards Eddie. You didn’t need a bat to beat the hell out of him.
“I’m alive” Eddie smiled, fear in his eyes of what the batshit crazy love of his life would do to him. He regretted not letting the bats take him.
“Good, you fucking prick. You let me go sixteen hours without anything! Fucking pussy couldn’t even face me?!? Had to let Steve and your love child pick me up?” You pushed him against the wall of the house, still being cautious of his wounds. “Fuck you”
“I know, I know, I’m sorry but I wanted to bring you here first! It’s not a ring but at least it’s a start” he breathed out. “Wayne told me he closed on the house, I couldn’t put it in my name but I bought it” you stopped your assault moving away from him to look at the house. It was a house you two visited often when you were younger.
“We came here when we were eighteen, you told me you imagined that if your life was the Harrington’s or Wheeler’s you’d live here and be happy. I want you to be happy, with our kid, maybe with me if you don’t murder me first. Hell I’ve got a few more payments” you shut him up with a kiss, not wanting to hear more of his rambling. He could ramble for the rest of your lives.
“You’re an asshole, Eddie Munson” you choked out before kissing him again. “Don’t ever leave me like that again”
“I don’t plan on it. Wanna see the inside?” He smiled. You nodded kissing him one tomorrow time. You were still mad at him. He knew that with every fuck you had to christen the place. Your bodies still close on the cold wooden floors of what would be your bedroom. His fingers dancing across your skin until they rested against your growing bump.
“I know I’m not a typical dad, and you’ll probably get bullied for having me as your old man. I just want you to know, I love you and your mama so much. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for the two of you. That includes going to another dimension to fight a creepy mind controlling super powered evil villain” you chuckled at his words. Knowing this kid would live in a fantasy world with their dad.
“Oh shit, have you seen Wayne?” You said disrupting his thoughts to get dressed.
“Yeah, yeah he’s safe. He said he’s a little upset that he won’t be woken up to the sound of a new little Munson running around, but I told him he’s got a room here whenever he’s ready to leave the trailer” Eddie said instantly easing your mind. You slumped back into the floor, your head on Eddie’s chest, being delicate around his healing wounds. He was here, breathing, alive.
“You think this kid’s gonna resent us for fucking in his room?” And still an idiot. He’s yours though, he kept that promise with a completely not legal wedding and continuing to be the best dad possible to your child.
“What made you fall in love with mommy?” Alex asked. You stopped working on dinner to look over at Eddie with a raised eyebrow. He was hesitant at first but a smile broke out on his face.
“Well, it all started when I saw her in school. Some kids tried to pick on her, but she told them that she would hesitate to… make them sick” you almost snorted at his choice of words. In reality, you said you’d poison them slowly and painfully until they died.
“It was that moment that I fell in love with her, and the pure fire that she is” he smiled.
“Does mommy use her fire still, like a dragon?” She asked. I glared at Eddie, reminding him to choose his words carefully. Sure motherhood mellowed out your intense anger issues, it didn’t mean they depleted. In reality, Eddie liked it in many inappropriate ways that your child will never know about.
“She does, but for very special occasions” he blushed. Smart man.
I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus
“And away they all flew like the down of a thistle. But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight happy Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight!” Eddie read using one of his very best dnd voices. Little Jamie let out a yawn her big brown eyes hardly staying open. “Goodnight princess.” Eddie whispered kissing her on the head. “Goodnight love bug.” (Y/n) added copying her husbands actions.
“G’night mommy g’night daddy.” Jamie yawned. Eddie shut off the bedroom light leaving the room dimly illuminated by the night light. The couple exited out to the hallway. “Well Eds you ready to get started?” (Y/n) questioned grabbing her husbands hand. “Actually I haves surprise I’ll meet you downstairs!” Eddie exclaimed one of his mischievous smiles on his face.
(Y/n) sent him a questioning look that Eddie only responded to with a kiss. “I’ll be right down!” He grinned. (Y/n) simply shrugged heading downstairs. She took a seat on the couch waiting for her husband. After about ten minutes Eddie came bouncing down the steps.
Only now he was dressed in Santa Claus’s iconic get up complete with the beard and big belly. He had on his proudest smile.“Wow look at you!” (Y/n) giggled standing up to meet him. “Tada!” He cheered gesturing down to the costume.
“What’s brought all this on? I mean Jamie’s in bed she’s not gonna see you.” (Y/n) said with a small laugh. Eddie shrugged ducking his head a little embarrassed. “I know but if she’s anything like me she’ll probably try and sneak down to get a peak at the big guy. If she does I want her to see Santa putting presents out instead of well you know.” He said gesturing to himself.
“You Eddie Munson are an amazing father.” (Y/n) smiled leaning up to kiss Eddie on the lips. He grinned his big toothy smile wrapping his arms around his wife. “I try.” He mumbled against her lips between repeated kisses. “So Santa should we get started?” She hummed straightening his crooked red hat. “Well I think I'm entitled to some cookies first sweetheart.” Eddie beamed walking over to the coffee table.
“Oh yes Mr Claus my husband and daughter made those especially for you.” (Y/n) teased moving to stand in front of him. “Your husband huh?” he hummed, picking up the cookie as he took a bite of it. There was a pause as he chewed the chocolate chip cookie. “Isn’t he a lucky man to have such a prerty little thing runnin’ around and baking cookies.” Eddie continued letting his hand rest on his wife’s ass.
“Mr. Claus you’re very handsy, what would my husband think?” (Y/n) gasped playfully. “Well sweetheart good thing your husband isn’t here huh?” Eddie teased. He let the half eaten cookie fall back onto the plate. His large palm squeezed (Y/n)’s ass softly pushing her against his chest while slotting his leg between her thighs. Her own hand traveled over his makeshift belly made of a pillow under his shirt to wrap it around the back his neck.
“Now tell me Mrs. Munson, have you been naughty or nice this year?” He whispered in a sultry tone. His words made her want to rip that white beard he was wearing off and replace it by sitting on his face instead. Roleplaying wasn’t uncommon between the couple, but the whole Santa Claus thing was definitely a new one. “I’m always extremely nice sir.” (Y/n) whispered back putting on her most innocent smile. “But I can definitely be very naughty too if need be Mr Claus.”
“Why don’t you show me how naughty you can be then?” Eddie hummed. His now ring bare hand reached up to his face pulling the beard off. Eddie eagerly leaned in but she interrupted with a soft giggle gently putting the beard back in its place. Once the white beard was straightened (Y/n) leaned in kissing him. He laughed softly against her lips but didn’t question it, instead deepening the kiss.
Little Jamie shot up in her bed as soon as she woke up not even fifteen minutes after being put to bed. The littlest member of the Munson family practically rocketed out of her bed to rush over to the window. Upon realising it was still night time and not time for presents she began to pout. She had definitely inherited her father's dramatics and even more so his knack for trouble. Sure it may not be time to open presents but it could be time to catch a glimpse at the man of legend.
Jamie had no idea what time it was or if her parents were still awake but she figured getting caught would be worth the chance to see Santa in person. Doing her very best tiptoe she shuffled out of her room to the top of the stairs. The only light left on downstairs came from the Christmas tree. Jamie slowly and quietly stepped down two steps not wanting to scare away Santa if he was truly there she peeked over the bannister of the stairs.
The small girls eyes immediately widened her mouth falling open when she saw the white bearded man with his big belly and signature red suit sitting in her dad’s usual spot on the couch. She would’ve hurried down the stairs to meet him if it wasn’t for her mother sitting on his lap, lips pressed against his. The man who gifted her with the toys she wanted every year, the one who paid her a visit every Christmas Eve, the one she stood in line for over an hour to see in the mall even if they had already done it five times. Jamie loved Santa of course she did, but he definitely was not her father. Only Daddy was allowed to kiss mommy on the lips, not Santa Claus or anyone else for that matter.
With teary eyes and a deep frown Jamie quietly storemed back up the steps running into her room. Normally she would have slammed the door shut with a fiery display of her emotions but right now her world was crumbling to the ground. Giant tears rolled down her cheeks quiet sniffles the only sound filling the room. Jamie crawled back into her bed shoving the covers completely over herself. The child felt absolutely positively betrayed.
Jamie was not only angry she was furious. Not just at her mom but Santa, and even a little at her father. The little girl was in utter shock of what she had seen . And where was her daddy while you betrayed him? He should’ve been there to stop it or even beat up Santa like he did with some of the bad people in her uncle Gareth’s stories.
The next morning (Y/n) woke up before her husband. As her eyes adjusted blinking away the sleep she was able to read that their clock on the bedside table read 8:15 AM. Now Jamie much like her father was not a morning person with four exceptions her birthday, Father's Day, Mother's Day, and especially Christmas. Even as a baby it seemed like as soon as the sun was up on Christmas morning little Jamie’s eyes were wide open. On previous Christmass their daughter would run into the room jumping on the bed in a rush to wake up both of them.
(Y/n) rolled over facing her husband who was currently snoring next to her. Eddie’s hair was everywhere and partially covering his face while one arm was stretched out around (Y/n)’s waist while the other was tucked under his pillow. She smiled reaching out to delicately push some of his hair back away from his face. “Eddie love.” She said quietly while letting her hand rest against his cheek. Eddie let out a groan in his sleep moving his face into the pillow.
(Y/n) playfully rolled her eyes moving closer to her husband pressing slow kisses against the side of his face. After a minute or two he finally looked up a sleepy smile gracing his features. “Morning sweetheart.” He croaked voice still deep from waking up. “Morning handsome.” (Y/n) grinned. Eddie turned his face again to press slow kisses against her palm.
“What time is it?” He mumbled against her skin. “About eight twenty Eds.” (Y/n) replied. Eddie furrowed his eyebrows looking over at the clock for himself. “Then where might our little dragon be?” He questioned fully sitting up in bed. “That is a very good question, if she’s anything like her father probably up to no good.” (Y/n) teased.
Eddie rolled his with a playful smile but still the pair got out of bed in search of their daughter. As they got out to the hallway they could hear some relatively quiet slamming around coming from downstairs. “Grab Jamie and go to our room.” Eddie demanded in a hushed voice. (Y/n)’s eyes widened at the thought of someone breaking into their house on Christmas morning. “Be careful please.” She pleaded earning a nod from Eddie.
(Y/n) took off to their child's room while Eddie crept his way down stairs. He wasn’t quite sure what he’d do if there was someone down there but he knew he needed to protect his girls no matter what. Thankfully when he got to the bottom of the stair he was met by the sight of his daughter causing all the ruckus. Jamie was stood by their Christmas tree seemingly pulling off specific ornaments and tossing them into a box. Even more surprisingly around the living room decorations with depictions of Santa Clause were torn down as well.
“Eddie Jamie’s not here! She’s not in her room!” (Y/n) yelled in a panicked voice bounding down the stairs. She stopped short next to her husband observing the same scene he was. Upon seeing her daughter the panic had left but was only replaced by complete and utter confusion. The couple shared a confused look before entering the living room all the way.
“Jamie princess.” Eddie started softly stepping closer to their daughter. This close up both parents could see the year streaks down the little girl’s face. This time when the couples eyes met both pairs were both filled with worry. Seeing her father Jamie dropped the thankfully plastic ornament she was holding to the floor running straight to him. She clung to his legs mumbling incoherently.
Eddie scooped his daughter up into his arms attempting to get to the bottom of this. “Baby what’s wrong?” (Y/n) questioned reaching out to attempt to push back her daughters wavy hair. The minute (Y/n)’s fingertips brushed Jamie’s brown locks the little girl jerked away. It was as if her touch burned her. (Y/n) flinched away recoiling her hand.
Her angry expression softened a little when she saw both her parents looking at her with such concern. Jamie couldn’t stop her bottom lip from wobbling, her emotions getting the best of her. As soon as tears started welling up in her big brown eyes, she pressed her face in Eddie’s chest latching onto the shirt he was wearing. "You and Mommy don't love each other anymore!” she cried, her words muffled. Eddie attempted to pull her away from his chest to hear her more clearly but Jamie only managed to cling tighter to him.
"An- and it’s Santa's fault!” Jamie continued with a loud sob. Eddie and (Y/n) shared a confused look frowning. (Y/n) again reached out gently brushing her daughter’s hair back. This time Jamie allowed the touch. "Jamie love, what are you talking about?" (Y/n) asked softly.
Jamie finally pulled away from Eddie and looked up to her mom, tears falling down her cheeks. "Oh momma, please don't leave daddy alone he can’t live without you.” She wailed stretching her arms out to (Y/n). She had been angry with her mother not even minutes ago but the thought of her mom leaving her to go live with Santa in the North Pole crushed her. (Y/n) immediately reach out pulling her little girl into her arms wiping the tears from her face.
"Don't leave me and daddy please momma!" She sniffled. "Jamie, where did you get that idea? I'm not going anywhere!” (Y/n) promised kissing Jamie’s head. Jamie responded by wrapping her arms around (Y/n)’s neck and hugging her so tight it was like she worried her mother might disappear the moment she let go. "But last night I-I saw you ki-kissing Santa." she sobbed into her mothers shoulder.
Eddie had to hide his mouth behind his hand to conceal a laugh. "Jamie love bug look at me please.” (Y/n) chuckled softly. Jamie finally pulled away her shoulders shaking with silent sobs lip still trembling. Eddie met (Y/n)’s eyes with his Cheshire grin waiting for her to explain to their daughter what she had actually witnessed. (Y/n) gave him a stern look begging for help.
Eddie cleared his throat standing closer to his wife and daughter. “Jamie, what you saw last night was really just mommy comforting Santa. Daddy forgot to put his milk out last night and Santa was got really sad, because he thought we had forgotten about him.” Eddie explained. Jamie looked at her father thoughtfully thinking about his words hard. "Yes baby girl and I told him a you would never let us forget about him and gave him a big hug and kissed him on the forehead like I do for you when you’re sad.” (Y/n) continued.
Jamie looked between her parents sniffling a little wiping at her eyes. "Really?" She questioned. “Promise kiddo.” Eddie added ruffling her hair. Jamie finally smiled straightening up a little. “Good daddies much prettier than Santa anyways.” She beamed.
Eddie smiled smugly wrapping his arms around his two girls. “Now that that’s taken care of what do you say you help daddy put the decorations back up before grandpa comes over?” (Y/n) suggests. Jamie nodded excitedly so (Y/n) sat her down on her own two feet. The little girl ran over excitedly placing ornaments back on the tree.
Eddie kept his wife wrapped up in his arms pulling her flush against his chest. "Seems like we might need to keep the costume for the bedroom huh sweetheart?” He hummed quietly in her ear. "Without the beard next time Kringle.” (Y/n) smirked. "I didn't hear you complaining when I was between your legs last night." he whispered teasingly. (Y/n) slapped his chest lightly smiling at him. “Yeah I was feeling festive Mr Munson but I prefer the real you any day.” (Y/n) grinned.
Eddie leaned in pressing a soft slow kiss against his wife’s lips. When they pulled apart they were both wearing a loving smile. “Daddy help!” Little Jamie whined. Both her parents turned to see Jamie struggling to put an ornament back on the tree now caught in tinsel. “That is definitely your daughter.” (Y/n) teased towards Eddie who shook his head going to help Jamie.
Picking Names. Dad! Eddie Series. *FLUFF*
Tumblr media
(I made a header!)
Summary: Eddie and his wife start the long process of coming up for names for baby girl Munson!
TW: Eddie being obnoxious (lovingly). Reader calls Eddie a hoe, but like teasingly. Name slander (?)
Word Count: 871
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“You’re joking?!” She squeals out a laugh. “You know our baby is coming out as a newborn, not a 76 year old grandma with 6 grandkids, right? We are not naming our baby Esther.”
Eddie rolls his eyes and looks back at the book in his hands. “You are so picky.” He teases back. “And what name are you thinking of since you hate all the ones I’m suggesting?”
“I dunno, I kinda like the name Allison.”
Eddie groans slightly, grimacing. “Probably not, I messed around with a girl named Allison before.”
She shoots him a look, rolling her eyes.  “Yeah, definitely not Allison.” She mutters under her breath, looking back at her book. “Oooh, what about, Jamie? Jamie Munson? That’s cute!”
Eddie looks at her again with a tight toothed smile.
“Are you kidding me? Dude, were you a hoe before I came along or what?” She jokes. “How about you tell me the names of girls you haven’t slept with yet and we’ll go from there.”
“Hey, it's not my fault I’m so irresistible. You couldn’t keep your hands off me, remember?” He digs in his cup for an ice cube and tosses it at her playfully. “You still can’t keep your hands to yourself, sweetheart.” Eddie wiggles his eyebrows at her, clicking his tongue.
“Yeah, and this is how we’re going to end up with a child named Esther Munson if we can’t find the name of someone you haven’t slept with before.”
Eddie gives her puppy dog eyes, scooting his body close to her. “You know, sometimes your words hurt.”
She turns her head to look at him, snorting a laugh. “God I’m in trouble if you teach our kid how to give the puppy face to me when she wants something. You’re pitiful.”
Eddie smiles, resting his chin on her shoulder as they look through the page of names, all of them starting to blur together.
“I don’t want her to have a normal, run of the mill name, but I want her to be able to find her name on a key chain.”
“You know… a good ol’ classic name like Est-,”
“Edward James, I am not naming our child Esther.” She grits through her teeth.
Eddie puts  his hands up in defense, snickering to himself because he knows he’s getting under his wife’s skin. “I’m just saying, babe! I looked up what the name Esther meant and it meant ‘star’. I thought it was kinda pretty since you love stars and space.”
“I’m about to send your ass to space in a minute, Edward.” She mutters the threat under her breath, but loud enough for him to hear. She really only ever called him Edward when he was pissing her off.
“Alright, let's take a little break from looking at the book and do something? How about you go take a nice bath, not too hot. I’ll go grab us some early dinner, and go rent a movie? That sound nice?” He asks in a low, calm voice in her ear, pressing a kiss to her cheek.
“It does sound nice. Be back here in an hour?” She sighs contently, tossing the book onto the coffee table. She puckers her lips for a kiss, batting her lashes at him.
“Oh, and I’m the one that has a pitiful face when they want something.” Eddie teases, kissing her lips three times. “Sounds like a date, sweetheart. I’ll be home soon.” Eddie rubs his hand over her belly before getting off the couch, and out of swinging distance. “Be home soon, my little Esther-roonie.”
“Eddie!” She yells loudly, picking the pillow up and throwing it at him while he ducks behind the recliner. “You are so annoying!” She lets out a laugh as his head pops back up.
“I’m annoying, but I got you to laugh!” He yells back as he runs out the door.
“I promise I am not letting your father name you Esther, peanut. But I’m going to go ahead and apologize that your father still acts like a 16 year old boy. I’ve tried, we’re both stuck with him.”
***
It's nights like this that she enjoyed the most.
Of course she loved having nights out with Eddie, but nothing beat lying on top of him while on the couch, snacking on their favorite junk food, and watching whatever movie he had rented.
Eddie had her shirt pulled up to reveal her belly, his hands rubbing the basketball shaped bump slowly and absentmindedly. Every once and a while he pressed soft kisses to her temple, almost like a reminder that he was there and that he loved her.
He ended up renting “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” for them to watch, it was the first movie that she and Eddie had seen when they started dating. It was always one of their go to picks when they didn’t know what else to watch.
They laughed at the same parts that always made them laugh, cringed at Cameron’s dad’s car “falling to its death”. But as they were watching, she picked up on something that caught her attention and she couldn’t shake it from her brain.
“Eds, what do you think of the name, Sloane?”

some thoughts about dad!eddie and edissy as parents <3
Eddie really went out of his way to read the best books and be there for Chris every month of the pregnancy. he wanted to be the father he didn't have for his daughter. chrissy would wake up some nights with him whispering towards her belly, and even though she was tired, she found it so adorable that she didn't have the strength to tell him to be quiet.
Eddie genuinely cried when the baby had her first vaccine, hating to see her suffer.
he and chrissy bought a camera and dedicated themselves to recording the most special moments, from chrissy's first month to when the little girl rides a bike for the first time. the family ends up with many videotapes that are kept carefully.
for one of her birthdays, eddie was peter pan, chrissy wendy and she was tinker bell. Her parents would put any silly fantasy just to see her smile.
EEEEEK these are adorable ✨ okay let’s talk:
-OKAYYYY yess I’m all for Eddie being like the best daddy ever because of his own father never being there and him going all the way to do literally anything for Chrissy and their bab! I think he would spend every second or as much time as he could cuz u kno he has work n stuff :(( to be with Chris during her pregnancy bc they’d probably be young and nervous like hello?? What do we even do?? So that leads to Eddie educating himself on everything and reading all the parenting books he can find bc he knows that chrissy is stressed so he wants to be that support she can turn to 💕 obvs as her pregnancy progresses, they grow insanely close like not to say that they weren’t, but they’re even more immensely in love and Eddie can’t keep his hands off her even tho sometimes it drives her insane cuz of the hormones
-Eddie is an even bigger crybaby than his actual baby :,) like okay it just hurts his kindhearted nature to see his girly go through anything that’s gonna leave her in tears 😭 so yesss what u said about baby getting her vaccinations and other baby (eddie hehe) crying bc he can’t do anything about it isn’t the first time something like that has happened!!! He cried when she got her ears pierced, when she stumbled after attempting to walk, blah blah all that not so fun stuff just leaves Eddie in shambles <\3 but of course lovely mommy chrissy is always there to hug him and pat his back “do you want me to bake you those cookies you like to cheer you up?” Shell ask him as he sniffs into her embrace Eddie just wishes every time he kissed his daughter, it would take away her pain
-AWWWW THE CAMERA hell yea this is something they’d do!! I think before the birth chrissy would’ve received a gift from Eddie and that gift was some sort of camcorder to document their precious bbs life!! They record literally everything bc you know EXCITEMENT besides it makes chrissy rlly happy and Eddie loves nothing more than see his ray of sunshine beaming in all her glory 😔✨so when they’ve recorded enough chrissy is the one to label each tape with the exact dates and proper titles bc she’s a total neat freak and it’s much easier to watch them!! They’d be labeled “Birth: May, 1990” or “First steps: 1991” just stuff like that and she keeps all of them in a special drawer in their living room so when her and Eddie want to reminisce with a bottle of wine, they simply just pop one into the vhs player 💕
-birthday parties are their things like everything u said YEPPP 100% facto like okay hear me out, they’re the house on the street that rents out a million bouncy castles, a food truck (help 😭??), a magician, like everything a kid wants for their birthday they have. Mind you, Eddie and Chrissy they’re not assholes they invite everyone and hell eddie even invites the old hellfire gang bc WHY NOT?? Besides all the boys loveeee chrissy and they’re all uncles to Eddie’s little girl so it’s only necessary that they’d be in attendance!! Eddie and Chrissy also have the best time goofing around together while their daughter happily enjoys her party with all her friends <3 Eddie would definitely throw Chrissy in the air in the bouncy castle and tease her to do some flips like she did back in high school but the real fun is when the two of them come out SCREAMING happy birthday to their angel with this giant cake that Chrissy baked and of course it’s not a birthday without Eddie crying bc his baby is no longer a baby 🥺
THANK UUUU FOR THESE ANGEL!!! I had lots of fun, everything you said was sooooo true and adorable ✨🤍🤍 reqs r open always!
