gale never talks about his dad. astarion had an evil dad. gale loves his mother and doesn't go by dekarios because he doesn't want to risk bringing her shame. astarion hates his sire, wants to take everything under cazador's name, and can succeed at doing just that if you let him. gale doesn't talk about his dad, maybe doesn't have one, maybe doesn't think about it, at least not anymore. astarion calls gale "my boy," and the dev notes say that he does so like a proud parent. this causes gale's brain to short circuit, pokes at a sore spot he thought he'd forgotten, and at some point gale ends up calling astarion da—[SNIPED]
