Thinking about maybe making subverses for each season of Charmed, but also... ehhh, that's a lot of work.

Plus, it's fun imagining Damon just off doing his own thing while the Halliwells are busy with their own lives and magical drama, and Damon is trying his darndest not to get sucked into it.

Yeah, his superiors stationed him in San Francisco while the Source had Jeremy, Nicholas, the Triad, & Rex and Hannah scoping out the Charmed Ones, but 1) Damon doesn't necessarily have to like it; and 2) he is trying not to attract their attention because he doesn't have a death wish and has no desire to be vanquished, thanks.

Damon just takes one look at all the shenanigans going on in the magical community when Prue dies, Paige is brought in to reconstitute the Charmed Ones, Phoebe is made Queen of the Underworld, and then Wyatt is born and the Darklighter goes "...yeah, I'm not getting involved in that".

Unfortunately for him, he eventually gets involved due to his relationship with Mels a few decades later, oops.

“Matty, baby, come on let’s go! Spence is waiting for us!” You called out to your 5 year old son. It was Spencer’s day off and he’d offered to take the three of you to the zoo. Your son hadn’t stopped talking about the zoo since Spencer had asked him if he wanted to go. You’re pretty sure Spencer was Matthew’s favorite person. Spencer was great with kids and it showed with Matty. The two of them had bonded instantly when they first met a year ago.

~ Flashback ~ 

It was a nice day at the park with the BAU team. It was what Rossi called, a beginning of summer blast! All the team members and their family were invited, and it was just a fun filled day. Water balloons, cornhole, hide and seek or tag with the kids. It was also a great chance for everyone to meet each other’s family and get to know each other better. You were new to the team and was welcomed immediately with open arms. However, you were afraid of introducing your son to everyone that day because he wasn’t like other kids. He was shy, kept to himself. He wasn’t a fan of interacting with other kids and would rather play by himself. However, as soon as he met Spencer, it was like he turned into a different kid.

Matty held tightly onto your shirt, his head in the crook of your neck as you walked to the pavilion. “It’s okay baby…” You whispered as you walked up. New people and new crowds were not his thing. You were beginning to regret your decision to come for his sake.

“Is this Matty?” Spencer coos, meeting you at the entrance of the pavilion.

“Matty… this is Spencer. Can you say hello?” You rubbed his back, craning your neck to look down at him. He peeked his head from your shoulder, moving to your chest to get a look at Spencer.

Spencer smiles, giving a wave, “Hi Matty.. I’m Spencer.”

Matty eyed him suspiciously but took notice of the picture on his shirt. He pointed to his shirt.

Spencer glanced down, “You like dinosaurs?”

Matty nodded, pulling his free hand out, a dinosaur just like on Spencer’s shirt in his hands, “T-wex.”

Spencer grinned, “That’s right, it is a t rex. That’s a cool dinosaur you got there.”

Matty looked up at you and you nodded, “I brought your other dinosaurs. You want to show Spencer?” Matty quickly nods, wiggling from your arms. You let him down, putting the bag down as well and pulling another two dinos out of your bag, handing them to him.

Spencer bends down to his level, “You have more? That’s awesome!”

Matty turns around to Spencer, “Pway” He shoves one of the dinos at Spencer, who takes it, “Let’s play some dinosaurs then.” He smiles.

Matty and Spence bonded instantly and have been inseparable ever since. 

~ End Flashback ~ 

Matthew comes running out of his room, the converse you bought him to match Spencer on his little feet. He’d saw them in the store and kept on for them. He wanted to be like Spence, is what he kept saying. So, you gave in and bought him the pair.

“Look at you!” You smile, “Got dressed all by yourself.”

“Hello?” Spencer calls out.

You watch as Matthew’s eyes light up at the sound of Spencer’s voice, “Spence!” He runs through the house, meeting Spencer at the door and jumping in his arms.

“There’s my little dude! You ready to go to the zoo?” Spencer smiles.

Matthew nods, “Ready to go.”

“You see the elephant?” Spencer asks. You can’t help but admire the two. Spencer had put Matthew on his shoulders as soon as you guys entered the zoo so Matty could see everything. Spencer told facts about each animal, Matty listening intently, his little hands gripping at Spencer’s hair. You pull out your phone, snapping a photo of the two of them looking at the elephants. “Turn around and smile!”

Spencer turns around and sees you, grinning. He taps on Matty’s knee, “Look at mommy and smile.” Both of them look at the camera and grin as you snap the photo. “Okay, your turn.” Spencer motions you over, taking the phone.

“I look horrible.” You groan. The heat of the day was not doing wonders to your hair.

Spencer shakes his head, “You look beautiful, stop.” He takes the phone from you, turning to a woman nearby, “Can you take our photo?”

The lady agrees, happily stepping in the front of you three and positioning the phone.

You step next to Spencer, your arm wrapped around his waist, the other on his chest. Spencer’s arm wrapped around you.

“1, 2, 3, Smile!”

“Cheese!” The three of you chant, smiling ear to ear. It was the perfect day spent. Spencer wasn’t Matty’s dad, but he stepped in and treated your son as his own. You couldn’t have asked for a better man.

Hi lovelies!! I know I haven't written in a while, and for that I do apologize but school has been a pain recently. Anyway, in lieu of the holiday season and winter time, I'm going to take some holiday/winter themed requests! I'll keep them open until New Year's, but I might close them earlier depending on how many I get. And hopefully I'll have them out every few days or so!

Rules:

1. Only reader inserts, either female or gender neutral, if you don't specify which I'll go with gender neutral. *For mass effect characters I might do femshep or fem ryder. Maybe

2. I will only write for a certain list of characters, posted below.

3. Holiday, Christmas, or Winter themed requests only please. (Ex. "character and reader have a snowball fight", "character and reader stay in because of a storm", etc.) I am also willing to do darker themes if you want, but I also have the right to turn down any request.

Ate a jolly rancher and thought about Modern Dal discovering tongue-color changing candies via one of his kids showing him their tongue and he thinks they're horrifically ill!!! only to find out he's been bamboozled

Also he doesn't like sweet candy, doesn't have much of a sweet tooth. If given a piece of hard candy and told not to chew it because he'll break his teeth, he'll be like "...I have to endure this for minutes??"

Not that he's disgusted by sweets necessarily (though he'll act like it) but it's something he has to be In The Mood for and even then he only needs a little to be satisfied.

Sour candy though, he'd probably like, as long as it stays sour. A lot of them turn sweet after the sour coating gets dissolved and he'd just think there's no point after that.

I wonder if he'd like "hot" candy, too? 🤔

He'd hate pop rocks. He also hates anything too chewy that's liable to get stuck in the teeth, like taffy or chewy caramel

Damon Rex Headcanon(s) 2

Keep in mind most of these are verbatim from my notebook which is considered a “first draft” and was just me writing things down as I thought of them, not necessarily written in stone or even written well. Please excuse discrepancies or bad wording.

Damon is the guy who wears formal clothes everywhere. If he’s being seen by other people, whether it’s at work, out at dinner, walking down the street, or even inviting friends over for a hangout at home, he wears a dress shirt and slacks as the bare minimum. Adds the vest for work settings, but rarely a full suit jacket as he finds it cumbersome. Some wonder if he even owns any “street clothes” at all. Almost to the point of becoming a running joke among friends.

Almost definitely has lingering mental health issues (likely depression, possibly anxiety) from past trauma (namely abuse from his father). One manner in which he copes with any negative feelings is to clean. Having control over his own environment and body helps not only take his mind off of it, but restores a sense of agency and worth by keeping his home clean, rather than allowing it to become anything like the run-down and unkempt vision of his father’s home.

A bit kinder than his TES counterpart, thanks to being able to help his mother and escape his father. He remains with his mother and cares for her until the end of her natural life. Having a compassionate force in his life for his transition into adulthood greatly helps him to develop compassion for others sooner and more completely.

(Still stoic and considered “grumpy” but more willing to be readily compassionate.)

Has a taxidermy beaver as his unofficial mascot thanks to Signy. (The beaver is not yet named). He secretly likes it--it’s a gift from a friend, after all. He lightly decorates it according to nearby holidays.

He doesn’t play videogames unless prompted to play with friends. Gets a little too heated during competitive games, so he makes sure to take breaks or avoid games he knows will get him angry. Enjoys calming games like Animal Crossing (but in private).

Not hip on social media trends, memes, apps, or internet humor. Doesn’t spend time on the internet unless necessary for communication or work. Reads newspaper, listens to radio for news. Uses cellphone for calls and texting. Has a laptop for e-mails and necessary business networking. (Okay, Boomer)

Follows guidelines even when they don’t apply to him. Both to obey rules and keep out of legal trouble, but also to blend in and encourage others to follow rules. (This was mostly written about mask-wearing tbh, since he doesn’t need breath and can’t get ill, he technically wouldn’t need to wear a mask. But not doing so would encourage others who CAN get ill and spread germs to do the same.)

Anyone not following the rules of his establishment can and will be unceremoniously--and physically, if necessary--thrown out by Dalamus Damon, himself. Where does he get that strength??? No one knows. They’re too scared to ask.

His technology includes a flip phone, basic laptop, flat screen of moderate size to watch movies/play games with friends/family. No “smart” devices. Nothing connects to the internet that doesn’t need to. Coffee maker, dishwasher, stove/oven, washing machine/dryer. Modern. Minimalist. Functional. Practical. Neat.

Possibly so neat and minimalistic that being called “boring” is a mild joke among friends.

Has two cats. Topaz, a Siberian female with yellow eyes and black fur. And Red, a Somali male with green eyes and “ruddy” fur. Topaz is laid back, friendly and affectionate. Red is energetic, mischievous and playful. Damon spends a lot of time cleaning their fur from his home and clothes...

Has a gardening hobby! Grows fruits, herbs, and veggies. Useful to have food in rotation for people who show up, and helps limit the money spent on food he won’t eat.

Other hobbies include lockpicking, reading, cooking, jewelry-making (for work), keeping journals, and cleaning.

Interests (or hobbies I think he’d enjoy but might not be actively engaged in atm) include: gaming, movies, martial arts (for self defense), calligraphy (already knows?), cross-stitching?, baking, chess, foraging, and learning new languages.

Owns a car--1999 Chevrolet Corvette hardtop. Navy blue metallic paint job. Oak interior

CAN eat food, just can’t taste much unless it’s heavily seasoned. Food provides no nutritional value for him as a vampire. Appreciates the way food brings people together and will eat to blend in, or to try new foods.

Appearance: Red irises. Black hair which falls below his shoulder blades--sometimes worn in a ponytail. Pale skin. Six fangs (all canines are fangs, plus the tooth behind each upper canine).

Excuses for his appearance: Claims the red irises are contacts. Claims pale skin is from anemia. Claims fangs are dental implants from a teen “phase”.

When angered/Thirsty, pallor becomes more apparent. Veins appear around eyes and scleras change to black. Red irises seem to glow.

Thinks one of the best modern inventions is toothpaste.

Difficult to kill, even moreso than his TES counterpart, mostly due to vampires being assumed a myth, so people aren’t armed against them. Killing him requires decapitation, burning, or silver to the heart or brain. Wooden stakes and religious symbols do nothing. Can survive broken neck/spine, and even gunshots to the head (although it’ll possibly take more time to recover).

His journals have black covers and written in red? For the drama?

Non-binary? He/They? Presents masculine. Vampirism changed the way he viewed himself, and he no longer feels wholly connected to the human idea of male? But of course only has human terms to describe it. (There’s an entire page just about this identity and my worries about portraying it wrongly because I’m cis, but I won’t write those down here)
