Hello annoying best friend here to fulfill my duty by asking you to answer all of the cute asks
angel; do you have a nickname?
not really. my name is already short and I don't have a prominent quality to nickname me after. The only person who refers to me as anything other than my name is my boyfriend, but I don't think “babe/baby” really counts as a nickname lol
awe; how old are you?
24
baby; favorite color?
dark teal (blue-green? I've never found a good name for my favorite color)
bloop; spirit animal?
so because I didn't have a good answer for this, I decided to google a quiz to find out, lol. My answer was a deer. here's why;
When you have the deer as spirit animal, you are highly sensitive and have a strong intuition. By affinity with this animal, you have the power to deal with challenges with grace. You master the art of being both determined and gentle in your approach.
The deer totem wisdom imparts those with a special connection with this animal with the ability to be vigilant, move quickly, and trust their instincts to get out the trickiest situations
blossom; favorite book/movie/song?
i don't really have a favorite book, i don't read much outside of school (I wish i did)
movie: A Beautiful Mind
song: oh dear lord i cannot pick just one, but all-time favorite band of mine is Shinedown
blush; what was your stuffed animal as a child?
a little stuffed dog that looked like Kipper from the TV show, I still have him :)

buttercup; showers or baths?
S H O W E R S. hate baths!
butterfly; dream destination?
I've never had a huge desire to travel honestly. like sure i could say Italy or Greece look beautiful, but the actual act of traveling overseas really stresses me out lol. so i would have to say more like upper midwest, like Maine, in the fall time for all the pretty trees.
buttons; are you religious or spiritual?
i am neither
calm; favorite scent?
anything fruity - pineapple, mango, berries, apples. at least in terms of what candles i like lol.

comfy, v necks and leggings. As i have gotten older i have slowly wanted to be more feminine i think, because i really want some sundresses for summer lol
dovey; any paranormal/magical experiences?
one! when i was 12ish, i swear i saw a reflection of a uniformed man (like old school soldier uniform - blue blazer with gold cufflinks) behind me in the glass of my snakes tank at the time. it was weird because the only reason i even looked that way was because my snake started shaking his tail against the glass, something that corn snakes do when they are scared, but also something that in his entire life had never done unprompted ever.

heart; silk or lace?
lace
honey; coffee or tea? how do you take it?
tea. iced, black or green really, with sugar.

bird watching because it means i am probably alone and in nature as opposed to somewhere in a crowd of people. and i wont feel creepy for watching the birds lol
hunnybunch; what sounds help you sleep?
white noise, a fan running. if that's not enough, i enjoy asmr. if i am really struggling/having anxiety, i will look up sleep stories from the headspace app on youtube (life hack to not have to pay for the app lol)
jewel; what’s your favorite kind of weather?
to be outside, i enjoy just warm enough to be comfy in pants and a t-shirt (so like 65F-ish) and sunny. To be inside, i love when it is cooler (like 50F?) and raining. I love the look, sound, and smell of rain but it is usually just inconvenient to be in.

i always gravitate to fall for the leaves and pumpkin patches. but honestly, i think my favorite season is spring. i love the newly budding trees and flowers, the feeling of renewal, the release from the horrible Michigan winter lol, but most importantly, spring time for my whole life as of yet has always meant that school is over for the semester! as opposed to the fall when the semester starts. this is very long winded but spring final answer lol
lovey; what is your favorite flavor of macaron and ice cream?
I've never had a macaron and blue moon ice cream
magic; what are five flaws you have?
ooooo boy
im short tempered/angry too much
im unmotivated (which is confusing maybe because i said i am determined earlier. you see, once i HAVE a goal i feel determined to finish it. but i am unmotivated to create said goals, lol)

pebbles; how do you spend free time by yourself?

Many thanks to Rantulahero for the amazing prompt. You are clearly passionate about these characters and it was an absolute joy to be a part of this world you have made. I would be honored to write for you again.
If you like what you read and would like a commission me for your very own story, drop me a message.
Remembering is Easy
She had begged him for this. Relentlessly, over and over, begged to see this godforsaken B rated 80s hero movie. An honest to god abomination of Hollywood with lazy writing that he would say was written by monkeys if that wasn't so insulting to the species, hack actors hoping to have their big break before having to go back to their AV careers and special effects makeup made with expired convenience store dumpster cosmetics.
She wanted to watch this movie. Had pestered him for weeks about it, going on and on about how they had seen everything else and now it was time for the ‘real fun’. All that and she couldn’t even stay up for the whole thing. No, instead she fell asleep before the first third and decided to use him as a pillow.
Tamaki did the best he could to not disturb Ran from her sleep. In all honesty, she needed it. He could tell the moment he was let into her room. She had slightly dark discoloration under her eyes and the iconic unwashed look that accompanied any college all-nighter. Nonetheless, she giddily pulled him in talking on an on about how she had been looking forward to this all week. Now she was asleep and missing it all but there was no way he could bring himself to wake her. Not when she looked so soft and at ease, her head tucked up between his shoulder and jaw, her warm breath tickling his collar bone.
Sighing softly, he settled in more to her stripes and stars superhero comforter, peeling his eyes away from the horrifying special effects fight to look out her dorm window. It was nice to have so many cherry blossom trees dotting the campus. Just outside her window, making the streetlight flicker against the walls, was the waving fingers of a Sargent Cherry Tree. The world looked active and haunted with how aggressive the breeze was this late at night.
A particularly strong wind rushed by, smacking the tree limbs against his window. The sound instantly sparking his memories of a time when winter was setting in. When the world was cold and the flowers were long gone. Their soft pink petals already absorbed back into the soil under the layers of fresh snow. Everything in the world seemed bleak and colorless, though that might be because of the stress of finals rather than the actual weather.
The library was packed, with every chair taken, every table was laden down with textbooks and even desperate study groups littering the rows between massive shelves. The librarians were unable to maintain its silence policy at that level of capacity, with everyone whispering but the sheer number made it still a steady distracting mass.
He and Ran were seated at their own two-person table beside the back windows, heads pressed close as they debated their biology 103 notes. The scraping of the naked tree branches against the window pane was grinding in his ears. “You are absolutely wrong.” She accused, pointing to a series of terms scribbled in her curly handwriting. They had been at it for hours and he was about to snap. There was too much going on. Too much studying. Too much noise. Too much pressure to pass his first ever college finals. Too much everything.
A massive pressure formed in the base of his skull. A metaphorical ball-peen hammer smashing through his vertebrae. The heat of a blazing fire wrapped around the back of his skull, the sound of crackling joints sounding like a bone splintering as it is used as kindling. Lines on the page began to wobble, blurring into a mess that made him feel like he was buried in mud. Mud that filled his lungs and made him feel like he would drown in it if he didn’t do something.
 he needed to get away.
It was too much, he had to leave. Without saying a word, he stood, nearly clattering his chair against the floor, as he made his retreat. “Where are you going!” Ran whispered, gently gripping his wrist as he stood. Unable to say anything he pulled his hand free and began walking away. She tracked him as he retreated to the darkest corner of the library. He heard her frustrated calls, demanding his attention but he wasn’t feeling like giving her that yet.
The wall was cool to the touch as he pressed his forehead to the drywall. He focused on the cold feeling that was slowly putting out the raging fire in his neck. Focusing on grounding his breathing and closing down his racing mind. The wall was beautifully white allowing his eyes to go unfocused and just slacken, easing up the pressure behind them.
Suddenly his moment of bliss with the blank white wall was obscured by Ran’s scalding green eyes. They were close, so dangerously close, he nearly had to go cross-eyed to focus on them. Completely invading his bubble and with no shame at all, she stared him down from mere centimeters away. “Will you stop ignoring me?” She sounded entirely put out with the situation, both bewildered and like she was dealing with a child.
“I’m not ignoring you. Move, please.” His voice was hoarse and thick with stress. Suddenly dry it sounded terrible and he just rather not use it anymore for a while. She was stubborn though, ignoring his request, standing her ground, arms folded looking thoroughly unimpressed with him. “Tamaki, you're trying to fuse your head to the wall," She patted the wall at her back to prove the point, "You are ignoring me."
“I’m trying to ignore everyone.” He snapped, feeling small droplets of spit fly his mouth and undoubtedly hitting her on the cheek. God what a nightmare. Closing his eyes, he just leaned in tighter, hoping she would just move from discomfort. His heart was hammering so hard they both could probably hear it. Breathing was becoming hard in the heated space generated by their bodies.  He could hear her breathing and knew she wasn’t planning to move. Frustratedly he just scrunched his eyes closed tighter, blocking out every bit of light.
“Yeah, ” her voice was suddenly meek, “and I am one of everyone.” Her hands came up slowly, placatingly, pushing a few of the dark stands of his bangs away from his face. She moved with a slow pace that one used with a skittish animal, like a beloved pet scared by a raging storm outside. Her sweaty fingers were tacky, clinging a few strands of his hair to her. It was a subtle move that tickled his nerve endings.
His mother was one of the only people to ever regularly come close to touch him this way. It made him think of home. A place where hands in his hair were paired with warm tea, good books, and re-watching family favorite movies.
Ran always had this softness to her, a familiarity even, just around the edges of her unrelenting words. As she tucks his hair behind his ears, her thumbs started to gently massage circles into his temple. The intentional pressure helping ease the ache in his soul. He eased up on the vice-like clinch he had on his fists. Her breathing was slow and even, timed out in counts of four in and five out, a pace he began to match up with. Slowly he started to open his eyes. Green, he was met with bright viridian green irises staring back at him.
“Come on, let’s go to my room to work," She gave a small reassuring smile while rubbing her hands against his tense shoulders, "It's too dang loud here.” With that, she slipped out from under him to collect their things to go. His first time ever being in her room.
A bomb exploded on screen, creating complete chaos of bright colors, loud shrieks and done deep bass vibrations from her sub-woofer speakers. The film was reaching its exciting climax, or at least what a 1983 B list studio thought was an exciting climax. Even with all the movies loud action shaking their empty drinks cans on the table, Ran kept quiet.
The blanket around her shoulders was starting to fall. The cool air would soon be bothering her exposed shoulder, completely uncovered in her workout tank top. It was awkward but he tried his best to readjust it with his free arm. Once content, tucking the fleece wonder woman blanket tightly up under her chin. He fidgeted a bit trying to get comfortable with his back against the wall, the old pillow doing little to cushion the pressure along his spine.
All the muscles along his neck and shoulders were tense. The first day of class was going to be uncomfortable, for sure, but he was ready for it. At least he thought he was ready to tackle the constant socialization with strangers, swollen class loads, and the inevitable minefield of uncontrollable college parties. With a weekend of moving his life halfway across the country, he was already tired by the time he walked into his 10 am freshman orientation class.
The room, slowly filling up with students, was relatively silent but stuffed full with excitable energy. All around him were fellow classmates giddy with the prospect of new friends. He wished he could be as excited as them. Hopefully, it would work itself out and preferable in not as big of a whirlwind as everyone was preparing for. If he could make at least two solid friends before the end of the first semester then color him impressed.
With a self-assured nod and deep grounding breathe he scanned the available desks for the most optimal seat. One that meant he had the ease to listen and take note but not a single worry for being called on constantly. That’s when she saw her, glowing against the backdrop of the flowering Dogwood trees through the window.
She looked like the most beautiful carnation, clad in the fluttering drapes of gauzy white rayon that made up her summer halter dress. Her hair was a shocking burst of purple, curled up and away from her baby-face and looking so soft in its ponytail. She was scribbling something furiously into her calendar with one pen while holding another pen between her glossy lips.
All he could think as he watched her write at her front row desk was ‘I want’. It sounded dark, making him stumble mid-step, but it didn’t feel that way at all. In his gut, it felt light and bubbly like sea foam mist showering the skin. What he wanted was unclear but he knew enough to know that it all started with talking to her. Getting her attention, capturing it just long enough, like a moth to fire, then maybe he’d know what to do next.
He took a seat in her row not beside, keeping a pair of seats between them because that would be a bit too bold. Instead, he opted to sit near enough she looked up as he pulled out his things. She leaned across the aisle and two seats, basically laying across the desks, hand outstretched. “Hello, I am Ito Ran,” He voice was fruity and bold, popping in his ears like a bitter berry would on his tongue.
“Amajiki Tamaki,” Her hand was moisturized and slightly damp against his scratchy dry palms. He smiled as nonchalantly as possible and was rewarded with a stunning smile in return. It was as bright as the first rays of the sunrise against the horizon of the crystal-clear ocean. The morning light bouncing off her eyes like the sun bouncing off the waves, twinkling in bright sparkler firework flashes.
Suddenly Ran gave a twitch, dragging Tamaki from his memory. He could see her eyes rapidly move under her eyelids, clearly in the deep throws of a dream. Whatever it was about, seemed to not be important enough to wake her. Her snuffling quickly calming down as she fell right back into soft snoring. He laid his cheek on top of her head, simply breathing the scent of her shampoo. Leaving the strands of her silky hair smelling of black currants mixed with vanilla.
He was getting thirsty. The floor was littered with the remains of their ritual 'Sunday Night Super Friends Movie Marathon' as Ran titled it. However, he still refused to move, longingly looking at his long cold tea beside their feet. It was jasmine lavender tea, a cheap brand that was sold at the campus coffee shop. Not a favorite but great when he is running late, like tonight, and didn’t have time to stock up his supply. He hadn’t had it in ages but he could remember clearly the last time he did.
He cradled his hot jasmine lavender tea in its to go cup, Tamaki was forced to blankly watch either the relentless ticking of the clock at the front of the lab room or the falling Kwanzan Cherry flowers. Pink snow, softly cascading all across the grounds. Spring was in full swing, soft skirts, picnics, flowering plants and exciting plans for the coming spring break abound. Tamaki and Ran had plans to road trip around to the surrounding towns, if they managed to survive their finals together. Though that would involve his lab partner to actually be here to work.
Several more minutes ticked by when, in a swirl of soft sweatpants and purple hair, Ran rushed in. She had her bags slung haphazardly thrown over a shoulder and a flush high up on her cheeks. “I’m late, I know,” she gasped out, clearly still winded. “I got caught up talking with my dance teacher.” Without a second thought, she threw her bags to the ground only to quickly pick one back up to dig out her lab work.
Tamaki said nothing, simply watching her while sipping from his burnt tea, they always burned it. Quickly enough she strapped on a pair of goggles and started pulling out her dissection supplies from every possible drawer around them. He had already set out some of their supplies for their frog, which was laying on the board awaiting its fate in the name of biology.
“It’s okay.” He told her, watching as she started in without even needing to read her notes on the first steps. He couldn’t sit still now, everything was buzzing with energy, tapping his toe, twirling his pencil, chewing on the inside of his cheek. He had so much pent up excitement in him.
The sun was setting, a warm greenish glow that made him wonder if a spring thunderstorm was headed their way. The atmospheric light brought a, dare he say, romantic haze to the world around him, putting everything into soft focus.
Ran looked formless under her oversized sweatshirt and leg warmers, like the softest cushion. An urge to mold himself to her washed over him. As quickly as it came, he pushed it away, in favor of pressing in closer to help pin down the parts of the frog they were dissecting together.
“Is your dance instructor still getting on you about that recital.” Noting the frustrated scowl marring her lips. She was clearly still breathing heavily from her nose. “Yeah,” She nodded, a few strands of her bangs falling from their braid, “I should already have my piece choreographed but I’m having trouble.” She admitted while pinning the frog’s limbs down a little too aggressively.
“How come?” He egged her on. Usually, she'd just say what she wanted so for her to be holding back meant there was something going on. “The theme. The whole show is based on insects. I have to make a piece based around spiders but that is also conveying quote ‘achingly slow anticipation’,” her voice taking on a high prissy flair to it attempting to immolate her teacher, or so he presumed having never heard the 56-year-old former ballerina's voice. “I just don’t feel like anything I do captures that.”
“Would you like some help? I can come by and film you, maybe give advice,” He didn’t particularly like seeing him best friend so fed up. She was supposed to be the optimistic one out of the two of them. When that dynamic failed then they would just be left with a depression cloud the size of Okinawa. “You don’t know anything about dance,” she bit out.
“True but I can help tell you how I feel while watching you... it. Maybe that will help you capture that emotion for the audience.” Plus, he’d find any excuse to watch her dance. There was a liveliness to her posture and movements that always attracted his attention, no matter how big the crowd, but he didn’t need to say that much.
“I… I would like that.” There was a blush to her cheeks, she must have really been running fast if she was this flushed.
They fell into a soft and silent sync pace. Working along each other, they discovered a pattern, dancing around each other as they worked. Their shoulders and arms brushed against each other in the most comforting form of companionship.
She smelled freshly floral, most likely a perfume stowed away in her dance bag. His heart felt swollen with satisfaction, and in this quiet moment, he couldn’t keep it from splitting his lips into a smile of pleasure.
She was quietly snoring, her whole body relaxed against his chest, pushing in so close it pulled him out of this memory, warm, soft and flushed. The color from his tv danced against the shine of her amethyst hair. The movie credits were rolling, the film has passed by with no one caring about it.
He should turn it off and head back to his dorm, but they were comfortable, loose-limbed. Everything felt heavy, his heart was thudding tight up against his ribcage. His arm was falling asleep but it was worth it. She seemed to find him to be a comfortable enough pillow. He didn’t want to wrinkle the soft unguarded expression gracing her lips.
That just left him alone with his thoughts. Thoughts that were crammed full of how her warmth made his palms sweat. Moments that made him feel more than warm, almost jittery in excitement and anticipation. Everything about them left him both on edge but also at complete ease. Like a man leaning over the cliff edge, only his toes gripping him from falling, but he knew that falling would be the greatest pleasure.
He just couldn’t stop thinking about her. Everything he did was keyed into her. How would she see me? What will capture her attention for longer? Get her eyes to linger. Will she laugh? Will she smile? Will it make her happy? Think of me? Like me? Will she think about me, when she isn’t by me, as much as I think about her? Does she spend as much time thinking about me?
‘Shit’ he thinks,’ his breath stuttering in that suspended moment. ‘I think I am in love.’

Solstice Scents Review
Man, finally getting around to writing my thoughts on my First Ever Solstice Scents Order (or two, actually.) I've had all of these for around a month now, and just because of all the other smells i've had going on, haven't really gotten around to them. But i'm taking the time now. Checkin' 'em off my LIST.
I'll be going over my experience ordering from Solstice Scents, as well as the scents Foxcroft, Snowshoe Pass, Violet Mallow, Lace Draped Spectre, Riverside Hayride, Nightgown, White Fox, and Winter Dove. Let's do it to it.
ORDERING FROM SOLSTICE SCENTS
So, not gonna lie, I put off ordering from this house mostly because of their website. I'm a graphic designer, and a bit of a branding snob, and the look of the website, not even considering the purposefully rustic theme, just the way it's built, is a little bit... Dated. Not the worst crime imaginable, but actually navigating the site made it worse: having multiple pages for the different sizes of one scent would clutter pages, not having an easily findeable scent list for their seasonal collections (if it exists, I STILL haven't found it), not knowing what was Just Seasonal and what was GC because of how they'll do limited seasonal releases of GC scents in normally unavailable sizes or formats... It was all very confusing. Their photography is nice, though, I'll give them that. Goes with the general look of the brand well. (And that's not like, subtle shade - I know the difference between a purposefully down-to-earth design, and something lookin' dated. Their purposeful branding, in a general sense, is not dated.)
Placed my order. The drop-down list for available free samples was handy. I wish they mentioned that, if it's your first order, you can ask for an additional free sample - I only knew about that practice from a different review.
TAT was pretty dang fast - a couple days and it was coming my way. The greatest delight, aside from the scents themselves, was their packaging: It's fantastic. A far cry from my complaints about their website. Their designs look good, the cards that came with the order were lovely, I love the little CD-case-type thing that the samples come in, and when I later placed a second order for a 5ml of Winter Dove, I loved the box it came in, too. Love the scent names in that snappy handwriting... It was just, good. Was nice getting actual designed packaging, rather than just bottles wrapped in bubble wrap or in a plain box. Very professional. No leaks. No issues. A good, clean-cut order.
(Additionally, when I did my second order and Lace Draped Spectre was still available on their free sample dropdown, even though it was sold out and wasn't going to be restocked anymore for the season, they still honored it. Which. Hell yeah.)
Overall, very positive experiences! Onto the scents.

FOXCROFT (PERFUME OIL) || Decaying Leaves, Rich Black Soil, Dry Leaves, Fall Air, Woods, Chimney Smoke.
I put this on, and the very first note I get hit with, without even looking at the notes, is sweet smoke. The first time I ever tried this, that smoke straight-up went BBQ-y for the first five minutes of wear, but it doesn't do that anymore - it's just... Very strong woodsmoke with a hint of sweetness. The smoke fades after just a few minutes, and I start getting the other atmospheric notes: A woody note that smells fresh and sap-sticky, like a newly splintered evergreen branch; dry fall leaves that smell so realistic that I can picture picking them up and crunching them in my hand; the emptiness of cool fall air; and damp earth from a rainstorm that happened the other day. The smoke's still there, kind of encompassing everything, but it's much lighter now.
And... Looking at the notes, I guess that's literally everything that's in it! Dang. Talk about a scent being dead-on. On the dry-down, this takes on a warm, almost... Maple-y quality? Like slightly burnt maple leaves. I like it. It's really cozy.
This wears a bit close to the skin on me without actually being light, but lasts for a pretty long time - a few hours in and even after scrubbing it from my wrist with dish soap, i'm still smelling earth and decaying leaves.
tl;dr: a very realistic fall atmospheric with woody, dry leaf, and damp earth nuances and a nice swirl of smoke. Dries down to a maple-like sweetness.
RATING: 5/5. A really beautiful atmospheric. I'm not really interested in smelling like it, but it's objectively very well made.
--
SNOWSHOE PASS (PERFUME OIL) || White Amber, White Musk, Vanilla Accord, Peppermint Cream, Cold Winds.
Mmmm. Mmmm. This smells absolutely tasty. The vanilla accord is rich and exceptionally creamy, with a super true-to-life vanilla extract smell. The peppermint cream blends well with it - it's hard to detect, but gives a slight minty edge to the vanilla. My roommate, from a distance, says it smells like cooked brownies. I don't necessarily agree--it doesn't strike me as chocolatey in the least--but I could see how someone might think that. It might be thanks to the amber - i've noticed some ambers can read a bit chocolate-like.
Admittedly, the cold winds note is kinda gone at this point - it was very present when I first got the sample, but now, I don't really get anything that hits my nose as particularly chilly.
This wears pretty strongly on my wrist, doesn't fade quickly, and obviously has some good sillage if my roommate is smelling it from like, 3-4 feet away.
tl;dr: True to life foody, creamy, rich vanilla with a hint of mintiness.
RATING: 4/5. I wish the white amber and white musk were a bit more detectable to me, and that the cold wind note hadn't vanished. Even so, this is a really delicious, rich vanilla scent.
--
VIOLET MALLOW (PERFUME OIL) || Marshmallow Cream, Violet Flowers, Vanilla Bean, White Musk.
This one's easy. It smells ex act ly like a cabbage patch doll's face - that floral-vanilla slightly rubbery scent. Sometimes Solstice Scents' vanilla note will have a bit of that rubbery quality for me, and the violets in this, rather than just living on their own in their signature Purple Burp smell, blends well and amps up the cabbage patch kids smell. Which is great for me, because i've been dying for a perfume that smells like it - I actually asked for this one as my free sample because people had been saying it smells like that. And it does. Spot on.
Wears strong on my wrist, with sillage of like a foot or two when wet, then maybe 6 inches or so when dry.
tl;dr: Cabbage Patch doll!
RATING: 4/5. Kinda simple, but fills a very specific desire in me. I don't even know if i'll wear it that much, but I loooove just having this smell on hand whenever I wanna whiff it. Plus, even if the vanilla/marshmallow is a bit rubbery, I love a violet scent where the violets don't smell bad.
--
LACE DRAPED SPECTRE - REFORMULATED (PERFUME OIL) || Vanilla Musk, Spicy Pink Carnation, Pink Pepper, Rose, White Musk.
This... This grew on me so fast, and is now one of my favorite perfumes. Holy shit. This is just so, so good.
When I first tried it out, I took one whiff and went, 'oh! So THAT'S what a carnation smells like!' I was familiar with the smell of carnations, but had never really matched the smell to the flower, but this was so dead-on that there's really just no mistaking it. The connection was made instantly. It's a green, dewy, velvety, heady, smooth, non-powdery, lush-smelling flower, with just a hint of a spicy kick to it - which i'm sure is amped up by the pink pepper. The vanilla musk amps up that delicious carnation and makes the scent a bit humid and sweet. That's about all I can really, for-sure detect in this... But, god, I don't think it NEEDS anything else. It's SO GOOD.
Got HELLA sillage and HELLA longevity - I put this on and can smell it all day. God. I have two 1mls of it and I hope they last me 'til fall. Seriously, it's so good.
tl;dr: A fantastic, realistic carnation note, amped by vanilla musk and with a kick of pink pepper.
RATING: 6/5. This is a holy grail scent, bay-bee. I've had some good florals since, but this was the first good floral. This is the one that changed my mind about florals.
--
RIVERSIDE HAYRIDE (PERFUME OIL) || Moist Dirt, White Carnations, Fallen Leaves, Bare Branches, Hay & a Hint of Pressed Apples Carried on the Breeze from Corvin's Apple Orchard.
I put this on, and before I can even close the sample vial, I get hit with this wave of spiced, dried, tart apples - but that gets subtler after only 10, 15 minutes of wear. What I smell at the top at that point is a very subtle, velvety carnation - not nearly as lush as the carnation note in lace-draped, it's more like... If a bed of carnations was a few feet away. It also smells pretty wet, with a notable cool air note, and some damp green-ness. At this point, the apples are so subtle that they're at the bottom of the scent, just a soft sweetness with an edge of tart, very realistic for a dried apple scent, and I can't smell the spices anymore.
Sometimes I also pick up a weird sourness that isn't the apples, and almost smells... Milky? Like milk that's kinda nearing its expiry date and you're not really sure if it's bad or not. I don't get it all the time, and it's not bad enough to ruin the scent, but it's there. Looking at the notes, I think that sour smell is actually the hay.
On the dry-down, that hay gets stronger, and basically all i'm getting is the hay and maybe a hint of the apple. If you like hay, this would be good for you. The last note I can detect before it disappears is tart green apple. Despite not having a lot of sillage, apart from that first wave of apple, this wears VERY strongly on my wrist.
tl;dr: A velvety floral atmospheric with touches of cool air, green-ness, and an ample helping of dried apples, that dries down to strong hay and faint apple.
RATING: 3.5/5. Well made, but I could do without that strong hay note. I say. About a scent with 'hayride' in the name. Guess that's what I get.
--
NIGHTGOWN (PERFUME OIL) || Vanilla, White Chocolate, Tuberose & Tiare Flowers.
This is lovely - I actually like it more than I thought I would, since i'm really not into chocolate notes, even white chocolate, and white florals generally aren't my thing. But this blends beautifully: the tuberose and tiare are soft and delicate without smelling soapy or indolic like so many white florals can, and the white chocolate and vanilla round it out, balance the floral qualities, and give the scent some depth. It's really lovely - i've worn it to bed a couple times, so I guess the name 'nightgown' fits.
Dries down to stronger vanilla and realistic white chocolate with a light floral edge. Very elegant and creamy. Wears close to the skin for a few hours before it begins to fade.
tl;dr: Soft, delicate white flowers balanced by gentle, creamy sweet notes of white chocolate and vanilla, the latter taking over on the dry-down.
RATING: 5/5. Another one I probably won't wear a lot, but it's objectively beautiful. Solstice Scents REALLY can do no wrong with florals, i'm beginning to feel like.
--
WHITE FOX (PERFUME OIL) || Vanilla Musk, White Fur, Woods, Snow Laced With a Vein of Dirt.
So, reading reviews of White Fox, it seemed to be pretty hit or miss. Half the time, it was a beautiful vanilla scent with atmospheric notes; the other half, burning plastic. I wasn't sure what I would get, but I was willing to take the risk.
What I ultimately get is plasticky vanilla. Not the worst, but, uh, not the best, either. I get something very minty, too, even though peppermint isn't a note in this (maybe it's the woods note, some evergreens), and it makes that plasticky vanilla almost... Burning. Chemical-y. It mellows out some with wear, though: the burniness goes away, and the vanilla becomes less plastic (but not totally un-plastic) and more soft and fuzzy, so, decently wearable. The fur and dirt are distinguishable in this, too, and round out the sweet notes well.
Dries down to a subtle vanilla musk sitting underneath some really notable dirt, and finally, before it fades, become simply dirt and fur. Lasts for a good handful of hours, and has some good sillage while wet.
tl;dr: Burning plastic kinda medicinal smelling vanilla that mellows out to a softer, fuzzier vanilla, rounded out by dirt and fur.
RATING: 3/5. I'm honestly debating rating this a bit lower, because it starts out so bleh, but with wear it's okay. ...But just okay.
--
WINTER DOVE (PERFUME OIL) || Vanilla Crystals, Spicy Carnation, Nutmeg, Cream.
Man, this is such good shit. It's not LDS, but by god, it'll do.
For the first, like, 5 minutes, I get straight eggnog from the nutmeg and cream, and then it just becomes this beautiful, rich, creamy carnation note. The carnation's pretty spicy, but more than that, it's velvety, softly floral and green and fresh as hell. Smells real, as SS' carnation note tends to. The sugar crystals give this just a touch of sweetness, and honestly, I don't get the nutmeg as much after those first 5 minutes. It's a soft, rich, delicate scent - definitely would call this LDS' more feminine cousin. On the dry-down, the carnation fades, and the scent becomes much more creamy and foody-sweet without necessarily going back to eggnog.
Has a lot of sillage - i've gotten reports of other people smelling it real well when I walk past. (Notably, my sister said it smelled like a headshop, which kinda surprised me. I think it must'a been the spice in the carnation.) Lasts for a good handful of hours, too.
tl;dr: Eggnog, briefly, and then a sweet and creamy lush carnation scent, and then, on the drydown, creamy sweetness.
RATING: 5/5. Blind bought a 5ml for this because I didn't think I could live without Solstice Scents' carnation note, and I have no regrets.
--
So, final thoughts: I really, really love this house. Their florals are killer, their scents are rich and long-lasting, and at the very worst, they might go a little rubbery or maybe a little potpourri-ish, but there's nothing in this that was out-and-out awful or came across poorly made. Gonna be buying from them again, most definitely.

Christmas Lights
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jane Hopper x Sister!Reader
Summary: Jane and her sister assembled the Christmas tree in the Hopper’s residence.
Word count: 1.290
Posted: 4th of December 2017
A/N: Heeey! I loved this! I just want Hopper and Jane to be happy, okay? Enjoy guys and I hope that you send me some feedbacks!
Thank you for everything!
- G. x
“Jane, are you ready to decorate our good old cabin?” You shouted from the living room, calling your sister’s attention and plopping a dusty medium-sized brown box on the wooden centre table in your living room. It has been closed with a brown packaging tape and the words Christmas Decorations were written by your father with his messy handwriting. He hasn’t gone to school for a long time, what would you expect from him?
“To decorate? For what? Party?” Jane curiously asked as she got out of her dirty and chaotic room. You softly giggled while you shook your head in response. Her talking skills were better than the first time that you knew her, but she was still oblivious of some things that happened around you, just like the important yearly events.
“It’s almost Christmas, sweetie.” You reached for her curly hair to mess it up and you earned some soft simpers from her. You liked being a good sister to her and you considered her as your real little sister, nevertheless you were living together for just more than a year. You never had a chance to be a big sister to Sara, sadly.
“Christmas?” She asked as she excitedly stuck her hand out, slowly breaking the packaging tape and opening the box full of decorations with her mind.
“Jane,” Your father interrupted. “it’s a fest held on the 25th to celebrate Christ’s birth. It’s the perfect time to stay with your family and exchange gifts with them.” He never celebrated it for Christ’s birth. In fact, you stopped celebrating it when your sister died from her sickness and your mother left you for her depression. You father lost his will to live and he forgot that he still had you beside him, but you never gave up on him. You still loved him and took care of him until he felt better, realizing that he still had a daughter.
“Oh, I get it.” She slightly smiled as she listened to your dad. “Let’s start, (Y/N)!” You nodded your head as you shook your sad thoughts off your mind.
“Sure!” You both started to take the decorations out of the box and you both decided where to put them in your petite-sized home. Some Christmas songs were playing on your phonograph, making you and Jane dance in happiness. Your father was happy that you were close with Jane, slowly building the family that he has once lost.
You taught Jane how every decoration was called and she repeated them after you so she would remember them, hopefully. You were patient and happy to help her, but she was shy to ask you too much. She has always thanked you as if she owed you everything that she knew in her life.
“Dang it, why are these lights always ravelled?” You loudly complained, annoyed. It was a vexing thing and, luckily, you had to do it just once a year. “Dad, can you please untangle them, so Jane and I can start doing the rest?”
“I need to go to the police station, (Y/N).” Your father said, narked. He was a lazy man, but you still loved him, to the moon and back. You shook your head in disbelief as you remembered something important: it was his day off.
“Dad, don’t be lazy!” You gave him the tangled lights and he raised one of his eyebrows to ask you what was going on. “It’s your day off so don’t seek for some boring excuses.” You widely smiled at him and he just lazily sat on the couch and groaned in annoyance, but he was also proud of you: you were a great observer and you remembered his work schedule.
“Not that wise enough, dad!” Jane laughed and your dad just shrugged his shoulders guiltily, silently ravelling the lights out of its knot. You flashed her a sweet smile and she gave you a high five, showing your father that your sisterly bond was stronger than his lazy ass.
You and Jane started to assemble the green Christmas tree, putting some garlands around it and hanging Christmas balls and ribbons with different colours everywhere.
“Do these lights even work, girls?” Your father curiously asked and you both stopped to raise your shoulders, not knowing the answer. Your dad quickly made his way to the nearest electric socket to test the lights, but you were disappointed as they didn’t light up and no colour was flashing, not even one. “Damn, it’s broken.”
“Joyce surely have extra lights, dad!” You reminded him while laughing nonchalantly. You remembered how much time your dad took to take the lights off of the Byers’ residence last year. He offered her his helping hand, so he hadn’t got any choice but work.
“What should I do?” He sarcastically asked. He was already vexed and he was hoping for you to be frightened of him, so it would be tour turn to made your way towards the Byers’ house. “What about moving your lazy ass too?”
“Are you letting me drive?” You cheekily smiled at him, annoying him even more.
Ladies and Gentlemen: Jim Hopper, a single father of two girls and the head police officer. He was too overprotective of his daughters and he wouldn’t let the eldest drive and neither of the two girls could use their bicycles at night. He was afraid to lose you, mostly after what happened to Will in the past years. He has already lost a daughter, he would never want to lose another one again.
“Where are my car keys?” There was a hint of whine in his voice and you just laughed out loud, together with Jane. “You both stay here, okay?”
“Sir, yes, sir!” You gave him two thumbs up as you vexed him even more, still laughing because you were cleverer than him. He threw the broken lights inside the bin and he shook his head in disbelief, trying so hard to not smile.
“You’re paying me for this.” He pointed you and Jane. You looked at your sister and you both smirked in unison.
“Sure, why not?” Jane nonchalantly blurted out.
“We’ll be getting you a date with Joyce, promise!” You winked at your dad and you couldn’t deny that you saw him smiling. You couldn’t help but smile widely, you knew how much he loved the pretty lady. He somehow deserved some happiness too. “Jane and I, together with Jonathan and Will, will prepare a romantic candle-lit dinner, just for Jim Hopper and Joyce Byers!”
“And we’re adding a movie night together, alone with no kids around.” Jane nodded as she added her plan. She has surely seen it in the television. She was always watching soap operas too since she used them to learn new words and to amplify her vocabulary.
“You’re the best daughters ever.” He pulled you both in a strong hug and you wrapped your arms around your father too, sharing a small group hug.
“We know.” You confidently agreed, earning some chortles from your father. “Now go: get some Christmas lights for us, dad, and conquer your lady!”
“I will, my princesses!” He sweetly stated, giving you and your little sister a soft kiss on your foreheads.
After all, you just wanted him to be happy. He was a cool single dad, even though he was overprotecting and strict. You loved the bond that you built together when your mother left the two of you alone, this time he needed to move on with the past and conquer his present and future and he would be doing it with the help of his two beautiful daughters who wished him happiness, good health and nothing more.
“We love you, Dad!”

To Gravity Falls, From Piedmont: Chapter 27
Summary: It’s a long way until next summer. Until then, Dipper and Mabel share their daily antics and life problems with their lifelong friends and attentive great-uncles through an endless string of e-mails. Distance makes the heart grow fonder after all, and there’s no place Dipper and Mabel love more than Gravity Falls.
                                                      Chapter List
To: Wendy Corduroy (Lumberchick); Grenda Gosling (Hugsx0x0); Candy Chiu (SweetasSugar88); Pacifica Northwest (GravityFallsPrincess)
From: Mabel Pines (ShootingStarRainbowUnicorn)
Subject: School assignment
Hey!
Remember a couple of days ago, when I asked you guys what you thought of me for a school report? Well, I'm asking again, only this time I want to know what your opinion is of Dipper! He's asked all the guys but refuses to ask you girls, which is totally biased. Since he's being a dork about it, I decided to ask on his behalf! So fire away!
Much love,
Mabel
Stretching her arms over her head as she watched her e-mail disappear into cyberspace, Mabel stood up from the computer chair. She ventured out of her bedroom and went into the living room, where Dipper had taken over the coffee table. He was currently reading through a notebook, brow furrowed in a mixture of amusement and frustration.
"What's up, bro?"
"I can't use these!" Dipper exclaimed, holding out the notebook for his sister to read.
Written in his handwriting was a collection of quotes from their friends. Mabel bit down on her bottom lip to keep her laughter from escaping, as they were mostly various synonyms for the word 'nerd'. "I guess they weren't taking it seriously?" she managed to say.
"Robbie and Gideon? Apparently not," he grumbled, grabbing his phone and typing a text to the aforementioned males. "Soos and McGucket were really nice, but these two are just messing with me. How am I supposed to compile enough material for this assignment if they won't cooperate?"
"You know they love you."
"I'm tempted to argue that point," returned Dipper, though he smiled. "What did they say about you?"
"Robbie said I was a suffocating ray of glittery sunshine and Gideon said I was an angel who did not deserve to walk amongst regular people."
Dipper stared at her for a moment. "Well, at least Robbie said more than two words to you," he said at last. "And we obviously know I'm not Gideon's favourite."
"Any input from Grunkle Stan and Grunkle Ford?"
Dipper shook his head. "No. Which is kind of surprising. I thought Grunkle Stan would be the first with some sort of smart comeback for this."
"Darn. I didn't hear back either." Mabel lowered onto the end of the couch and rested her chin in her hands. "You think they'll respond in time? I really wanted to include them in my report."
"I'm sure they will," assured Dipper. "They always respond whenever we text, they just might be tied up right now. Fighting some three-eyed monster or whatever. So what did Soos and McGucket say about you?"
"Soos said I was the nicest person he's ever met," Mabel smiled happily. "And McGucket said I was so sweet I give him cavities. How about you?"
"Soos said I was the best pterodactyl bro he could ask for and I'm super smart. McGucket said I was clever, kind and should have more confidence in my abilities."
"We have great friends," said Mabel contently.
"Well, the jury is still out on Gideon and Robbie," joked Dipper. As the words left his mouth his phone trilled, indicating a new text in his inbox. He checked the message, lips quirking in amusement. "They decided to make an effort this time. Gideon says I'm annoyingly persistent and determined, but it's admirable. Robbie's surprised by how tough I can be, and respects how I'm not afraid to stand up for what I believe in. He still thinks I'm a dork, but a cool dork."
"What do the girls say about you?" asked Mabel innocently.
Dipper shot her a look. "You know I haven't asked them, and I'm not going to ask them."
"Why not? I asked all of our friends! What's the big deal?"
"I don't know, I just feel awkward about it! I've never asked a girl what they thought of me before, and I'm not sure if I'm ready to hear the answer."
"You're taking this too seriously," said Mabel, unable to keep the amusement out of her voice.
"Story of my life. But I'm still not going to do it." Dipper reached over to jab at her leg. "Stop pressing."
Mabel let out a dramatic sigh. "Fine. I'm going to start on my report, then. Good thing it only has to be two pages, or you probably wouldn't have enough material since you only asked half of your friends."
"Goodbye, Mabel."
Smirking, the girl skipped back to her bedroom, jumping into her computer chair and going for a quick spin before checking her e-mail notifications.
Mabel Pines: Remember a couple of days ago, when I asked you guys what you thought of me for a school report? Well, I'm asking again, only this time I want to know what your opinion is of Dipper! He's asked all the guys but refuses to ask you girls, which is totally biased. Since he's being a dork about it, I decided to ask on his behalf! So fire away!
Wendy Corduroy: I was wondering why I didn't get a message from him. I know he can't be worried about what I'm going to say because he asked Robbie for his opinion.
Grenda Gosling: Yeah, we'll be nice!
Wendy Corduroy: With a healthy degree of sarcasm.
Candy Chiu: Dipper can be very silly.
Mabel Pines: Tell me about it. He's never really had any girl friends before, so I guess he's not really comfortable with hearing what girls might think of him, even if they are his close friends. I thought I'd help him out!
Pacifica Northwest: What exactly is the point of this assignment?
Mabel Pines: Well, first we have to write a page on how we view ourselves and how we think others view us. Then we have to talk to our friends and family and get their opinions to see how they view us. We write up another page and then we have to write a conclusion, comparing the two viewpoints and seeing how similar or different they are.
Wendy Corduroy: Dang. Wish my schoolwork was that easy.
Grenda Gosling: I think Dipper's a great guy! He's nice and he doesn't act like a jerk to be cool and he's still cool anyway.
Candy Chiu: He isn't afraid to apologize when he is wrong and he means it. I know if I ever need his help he will give it to me. He'll hang out with us and do girly things with us, even if he gets embarrassed over it sometimes he does it anyway. He's not afraid to embrace his feminine side.
Wendy Corduroy: He's thirteen and yet he's already way more mature than ninety percent of the guys—and girls, for that matter—at my school. He can hold a meaningful conversation and he can just joke about the most ridiculous things. He's not afraid to stand up for his friends and family and you can always count on him. He's also a huge dork, but I love him for it. He's my bro.
Mabel Pines: Thanks, guys! Dipper will be really happy when I tell him this. Pacifica, I know you have something to add!
Pacifica Northwest: No, not really.
Wendy Corduroy: What'd we say about the Ice Princess routine?
Pacifica Northwest: Ugh. Fine. Dipper's okay. He helped me out with the whole ghost invasion incident even though he didn't have to and I probably didn't deserve it. He's kinda funny. Doesn't have much fashion sense, but that can be fixed. He's got the backbone to tell people off. He's nice, not fake nice but sincerely nice. But he can be a jerk sometimes which is good because it's exhausting being around people who don't know how to be snarky or mean. He can be way too uptight and serious. But all around, yeah, he's a decent, cute guy.
Wendy Corduroy: …
Grenda Gosling: …
Candy Chiu: …
Mabel Pines: SQUEE
Pacifica Northwest: What?
Pacifica Northwest: NO COOL I MEANT TO SAY COOL
Wendy Corduroy: BUSTED
Candy Chiu: That is what we call a Freudian slip!
Grenda Gosling: I knew it! You like Dipper!
Mabel Pines: I CAN SET YOU UP ON DATE! I'LL BE YOUR MATCHMAKER!
Pacifica Northwest: GO AWAY. It was autocorrected, you dorks! It was supposed to say 'cool' not 'cute'!"
Wendy Corduroy: I wish I lived closer so I could see how much you're blushing on a scale of one to ten.
Grenda Gosling: There's no autocorrect in the e-mail server's instant messaging!
Pacifica Northwest: Look you got your stupid opinions. Can I go now?
Mabel Pines: Aw, come on, you totally have a crush on Dipper! Admit it!
Dipper Pines: …you think I'm cute?
Wendy Corduroy: Oh snap.
Grenda Gosling: How'd you get in this chat?!
Dipper Pines: Candy tagged me into here a little bit ago. I should have spoken up sooner but…
Pacifica Northwest: I'm leaving.
Pacifica Northwest: And I meant cool, not cute!
Candy Chiu: I think I am going to go find a hiding place. I suspect she is going to come hurt me. I may or may not talk to you later.
Grenda Gosling: Wait until I tell Marius this one!
Wendy Corduroy: This went down a path I was not expecting and I am not displeased by. See you dudes later. Oi, and Dipper, next time you have an assignment like this one you know you can ask me anything, right?
Dipper Pines: I know. I was being, as everyone is correct in saying, a dork. Thank you. You're my bro, too.
Mabel Pines: …are you mad?
Mabel Pines: Dipper?
When her brother did not reply further, Mabel hesitantly rose from the computer chair and started back for the living room. She peeked around the entryway and found Dipper sitting where she had left him. He was staring blankly into space, a smile on his features and a blush on his cheeks. He seemed to be taking in the fact that Pacifica Northwest thought he was cute, and was currently no longer working.
Mabel ventured further into the room and cautiously poked his shoulder. When she didn't get a reaction, she grinned and said, "I'll come check on you in an hour."
She returned to her bedroom and grabbed her notebook, deciding she better start on her own report. She was just finishing up the intro when her phone trilled in her pocket. "Hello?" she answered.
"Hey, pumpkin," greeted Stan. "Sorry for not getting back to you right away. Hope you still got some space left in your assignment, because Ford and I have quite a bit to say. Is your brother around?"
"Um, yeah, but you might have to talk to him later, or I could relay everything you say."
"Is everything okay?" spoke up Ford.
"Oh yeah, totally. It's actually amazing. Matchmaker Mabel is back in business!"

You're not kidding anyone, Princess. Ask him out already. Just be sure to treat him right or we'll have to have a talk.

Pacifica Northwest: Oh. My. Gosh.
Wendy Corduroy: Ha! You're never living this one down, Pacifica.
Grenda Gosling: He ships it!
Candy Chiu: I think they would be cute together!
Stanford Pines: Leave her alone, Stanley.
Mabel Pines: Grunkle Stan I told you not to tell her I told you!
Pacifica Northwest: I hate you all. I'm disowning you. I never want to speak to you again.
Grenda Gosling: ...are we still on for the sleepover this weekend?
Pacifica Northwest: Yes.
Pacifica Northwest: AND FOR THE LAST TIME, I MEANT TO SAY COOL.

ABC Tag
I’m going with Adair because he’s the most-main character of my current trilogy, but I might fill this out for Blythe later since she’s pretty much as much an MC as he is.
A is for Age: 18 (Adair’s the youngest of my five characters- the rest are in their 20s) B is for Biggest Fear: Until book 2 when his fear becomes more emotional (losing the empathetic bond to his pair), it's heights. He's terrified of being off the ground in any way. C is for Current Time: It's late winter at the start of book 1. D is for Drink Last Had: Tea. Definitely tea. This culture drinks a lot of freaking tea. E is for Everyday Starts With: Grumbling about it being way too early to be awake (usually directed at Blythe who's a Cheerful Morning Person ugh), but then getting super excited because he gets to make breakfast! Then losing some excitement because his family of carnies can't agree on anything ever including breakfast. F is for Favorite Song: There are bound to be popular songs in a culture that revolves around the arts, but darned if I know what any of them are. Blythe was probably humming it this morning while being Annoyingly Awake. G is for Ghosts, Are They Real?: At the start of book 1, Addy would say probably not. By the end it's a definite, personal yes. (I mean, he gets to kiss one. That's pretty definite.) H is for Hometown: Sagewood, one of Concordia's small towns in the middle of nowhere. It's *boring*. I is for In Love With: Like that's a secret. Blythe and Etri. My gosh, the boy has it bad for both of them. Fortunately for him it works out to be mutual. It starts as a bit of a crush on these two attractive, slightly older performers, then they become his best friends and eventual significant others. J is for Jealous Of: Addy's not a particularly jealous person. I guess he's sort of jealous of the other artists his age who get more respect than he does, but he knows that he could too if he acted more traditional and he's dang well not going to do that. He's kind of an outsider in his own community. K is for Killed Someone: Unless a shadow or light creature (I haven't decided which) counts, no. That’s assuming he can even hurt them. Not sure yet. L is for Last Time They Cried: Probably within the past few days. He cries pretty easily over pretty much any kind of emotion. (I really need to make this come up more often. He's the most emotional character of the bunch.) M is for Middle Name: None at the moment, but when he gets his promotion to a higher ranking artist in book 2 (basically a symbol of adulthood), his parents' surname (Cerulean) becomes his middle name and he gets to choose a new surname based on his profession. N is for Number of Siblings: One younger sister. He gets along with her, but they're pretty far apart in age and he hasn't been home in a while so he hasn't seen her lately. O is for One Wish: To have a sentinel who will protect him and respect him better than his ex boyfriend did. (Sentinels are an artist's bodyguard/significant other.) P is for Person Last Called/Texted: He avoids writing home whenever possible, but he keeps in better contact with his former master who was like another mom. That said, the last letter he wrote was probably to his ex girlfriend. They're still good friends and keep in contact with each other. Q is for Questions They’re Always Asked: I couldn't think of one so my husband suggested "*You*? Seriously??" because no one ever takes Adair seriously. He's young, adorable, harmless looking, and kind, and I think this tends to make people disregard him. R is for Reasons to Smile: So many things make Adair happy! A new thing to sketch/paint, a change in scenery so he can see/experience new things, friends telling jokes and enjoying his company, yummy pies, beautiful spring days, his cat snuggling him, affection from Blythe or Etri. S is for Song Last Sang: I still don't know songs for this world yet. Probably whatever Blythe was humming while she tended to her plants this morning has gotten stuck in his head, though. T is for Time They Wake Up: Well into morning, probably around 10 given the choice. (Still not as bad as Etri who hates waking up before noon lol.) U is for Underwear Color: Adair's the kind of person who wears whatever looks cleanest. That said, most of his clothes are blue or purple, so it's probably one of those colors. V is for Vacation Destination: As a cartographer, he spent much of his apprenticeship traveling. He doesn't have a favorite place so much as places that served the best foods. W is for Worst Habit: Messy handwriting is probably the most harmless but most frequent. He's a cartographer. His writing has to be legible. He's really bad at making it this way but he's trying to be neater. The most harmful one is a tendency to be too passive and not speak up or letting other people make the decisions. He's gradually getting better at this. X is for X-Rays; Ever Broken a Bone?: Probably several. The other four members of his found family are all strong, athletic carnival performers. Adair is... well, he's a kindhearted artist who got picked on a lot as a kid and probably struggled to keep up with the other kids. Y is for Youth: *cough* I guess this is where I was going with the previous letter. He had a pretty boring, fairly traditional childhood and a slightly less traditional apprenticeship (his master is kind of an oddball like him who didn't quite fit into what Artisans are supposed to be like). He's a friendly person, but he's also kind of quiet and would rather draw something than play with the other more outgoing and social kids. It didn't help that his magic manifested a little later than average (an Artisan's worth is in their ability to possess magic and be an artist with it) and he was always kind of an outsider. He wasn't disliked, but he wasn't exactly included, either. And his biggest childhood bully grew up to be his closest friend because they were both kind of social outcasts with the other kids- this person was also later his aforementioned inept sentinel/boyfriend. He never really got on with his family, either, although hit fit in much better with his master and her family. Yeah, Adair is much happier with where his life is right now even though it's nothing like how an Artisan is supposed to live. He was a crappy Artisan but he's a dang good carny lol. Z is for Zealous: What Are They Passionate About?: Drawing and painting, putting his magic and effort into a really cool map that'll be his final project as an apprentice artist (this is basically like a graduation project and rite of passage rolled into one), cooking, finding yummy foods.

Note
all the aesthetic questions
(Btw @cyrusgavar sent me all this questions so you all know they rock)
flower crown: when did you last sing to yourself?I don’t sing to myself but I talk to myself literally every day.
fairy lights: if a crystal ball could tell you the truth about anything, what would you want to know?I’d ask if my parents really love me.
daisies: what is the greatest accomplishment of your life?I haven’t done many impressive things with my life, and I’ve missed out on some stuff I wish i could have achieved. But I’d say my biggest achievement is who’ve I’ve become and the attitude I’ve curated. I used to have extreme anger issues that held me back and I’ve had to conquer that. Very few people actually have to go through such dramatic personality change like that in order to progress in life so I think I’m rather proud of my personal character development.
1975: what is the first happy memory that comes to mind, recent or otherwise?I’d say my most recent happy memory is playing DM at my first D&D campaign with my friends and hearing afterwards how much fun they had even if I was pretty nervous and afraid I was doing something wrong the entire time.
matte: if you knew that in one year you would die suddenly, would you change anything about the way you are now living?I think the first thing I would start doing if I knew I was going to die would be being more honest. I feel like I’ve held my tongue all my life and I have always wanted to speak my mind more. In addition, I think I would try to speak to other people to create the change I want to see in the world and leave a legacy.
black nail polish: do you have a bucket list? if so, what are the top three things?I don’t have a written bucket list per se but I do say three things I definitively want to do before I die. I want to explore Seattle alone, get a job that I’m happy at and see my friends Chase and Robin in the flesh.
pantone: describe a person close to your life in detail. They look exactly like every single blonde heartthrob from the 90s with like three more inches of hair. I don’t think they’ve even touched a bra in their entire life even though they should probably wear one and they’ve got really cute selfies. Also I’m totally doing their make up if we ever see each other in the flesh.
moodboard: do you feel you had a happy childhood?Oh HELL no. I don’t want to go into detail on such a public forum but the people closest to me really understand how horrid my childhood was.
stars: when did you last cry in front of another person?Last Thursday in front of my maternal grandma, actually.
plants: pick a person to stargaze with you and explain why you picked them.@im-bravo she’s pretty cool.
converse: would you ever have a deep conversation with a stranger and open up to them?oh definitely if they were up for it I’m a pretty sociable person and I’m always looking to make new friends. But having mutual interest is one of the most important things in a new friend for me so my standards are a little bit high since my interest can be a little obscure at times.
lace: when was your last 3am conversation with someone, and who were they to you?Dude I’m not awake at 3 AM. if I’m awake at 12 AM it’s a miracle.
handwriting: if you were about to die, and you could only say one more sentence to one person, what would you say and to whom?I think I’ll try something pragmatic. I’ll go up to a judge and write my last will and testament dividing all my worldly possessions and money.
cactus: what is your opinion on brown eyes?Well I have them. They’re pretty okay. I wish my mom would stop saying brown eyes mean I’m full of shit, though.
sunrise: pick a quote and describe what it means to you personally.“This now, this us, we can cope with that.” -Cecil Baldwin Basically I like this quote as it will basically says ‘we can cope with that’ and well, frankly coping is about all I can do right now.
oil paints: what would you title the autobiography of your life so far?'Drafting plans for a Powder Palace’
overalls: what would you do with one billion dollars?First things first I’m going to get the hell out of here and go to where my friends are. Then I’m going to donate like 2 million to ACLU and Planned Parenthood. Then I’ll probably just stick a bunch of it in stocks and bonds well I think of the next thing to do.
combat boots: are you a very forgiving person? do you like being this way?I think I’m a pretty forgiving person but it’s also because I can’t stand up for myself and if I can even hold a grudge its hard for me to act upon it.
winged eyeliner: write a hundred word letter to your twelve year old self.“Dear 12 year old me: everything is super shitty and mind numbingly bland right now but just give it a while and you’ll escape. One thing I will need to stop doing is procrastinating and I also want you to speak your mind a little more. Also do anything you can to not be boring and see as much of the world as you can because HOO BOY was your childhood boring you need to exercise your brain with new experiences.”
pastel: would you describe yourself as more punk or pastel?PASTEL.
tattoos: how do you feel about tattoos and piercings? explain.I really want a dragonfly tattoo and I’ve got a few pretty interesting ideas drawn up and I doing a few piercing but my mom hates facial piercing so I can’t get one. A mouth piercing would be pretty cool though.
piercings: do you wear a lot of makeup? why/why not?I usually don’t wear make up on school days unless something important’s going on since it takes so much time to put on but when I’m going to the mall or out of town I tend to put on some make up. Eyeshadow, eyeliner and all that.
bands: talk about a song/band/lyric that has affected your life in some way.can’t say I can think of a song/band that affected me in a particularly noteworthy way.
messy bun: the world is listening. pick one sentence you would tell them.'Read Ava’s Demon and shoot Donald Trump.’
cry baby: list the concerts you have been to and talk about how they make you feel.Never been to a concert in my life.
grunge: who in the world would you most like to receive a letter from and what would you want it to say?I’d say I really want a letter from Michelle Czajkowski. Maybe some artistic encouragement or behind the scenes looks on how she makes her own art or own comic.
space: do you have a desk/workspace and how is it organised/not organised? My desk is pretty dang organized usually it’s only disorganized for a few hours or so until I reorganize it.
white bed sheets: what is your night time routine?Hang out on couch for several hours, get tired, grab my dog, read fan fiction, fall asleep.
old books: what’s one thing you don’t want your parents to know?Just one thing?
beaches: if you had to dye your hair how would you dye/style it and why?I probably go for a dark purple to lavender gradient. Not that you can get a good gradient in a pixie cut.
eyes: pick five people to go on an excursion with you. who would you pick and where would you go/what would you do?Chase, Robin, I.M. Bravo, Michelle Czajkowski, and @accordingtomyresearch and we’re all hitting up Seattle
11:11: name three wishes and why you wish for them.I’d wish for financial security, the confidence to do what I really need to do, and the belief in myself to work on my artistic skills until I am as good as the people I admire.
painting: what is the best halloween costume you have ever put together? if none, make one up. I put together a pretty hot greaser costume last year. Turns out i can rock slicked back hair.
lightning: what’s the worst thing you’ve ever done while drunk or high? The craziest thing I’ve done while high was knit while watching a horror movie/ roleplay a sad, drunk Damara.
thunder: what’s one thing you would never do for one million dollars?Say something positive about Donald Trump.
storms: you on only listen to one song for the rest of your life, or only see one person for the rest of your life. which and why? This question fucking sucks. One song because I cannot survive only seen one person.
love: have you ever fallen in love? describe what it feels like to realise you’re in love.I had a crush on this one girl in middle school but definitely wasn’t love.
