See, now you understand why we must all panic. Don't worry though because I know someone with a time machine. No not Dr. Who, but our own resident dragon loving little boy and his dog. As he sets the dial to "taco party" he transports us back in time to 1863. For you American history buffs out there that means the middle of the Civil War. You never know, maybe they were actually fighting over who loved spicy tacos and who did not. (Civil War reference not really in the book, but you get the picture.) The young boy, his dog, and many taco loving dragons travel through time in search of tacos. TACO TUESDAY! 🌮🌮🌮 So, I'm sure lots of you already know and love Adam Rubin and Daniel Salmieri's awesome "Dragons Love Tacos" (2012). BUT ... my honourary nephew and I both read it this past week, and felt equally adamant that EVERYONE needs this book. Plus we really love tacos, too. So it seemed important to share it in case any of you were missing out. "Dragons Love Tacos" is a hilarious letter to kids about everything you could possibly want to know regarding the dragon obsession with tacos (including their odd aversion to spicy salsa). astoryaday -- "If you want to make friends with dragons, tacos are key." . . Did you know that dragons love tacos? They love big tacos, little tacos, beef tacos, and chicken tacos. They love the smell of the meats and spices simmering and sizzling in a pan. They love the sound of crisp crunchy tortillas. However, dragons despise spicy salsa! Dragons love mild flavors like tomatoes, lettuce, and cheese. Spicy foods make dragons have tummy issues. So, go plan a party (because dragons adore parties as much as tacos) and make as many tacos as you can. Just remember NO salsa, because if they consume it they may burn your house down with their fiery breath! . . Now imagine a world where there are no tacos. I know, it's hard to imagine! Without tacos you would have no dragons to befriend. That is exactly what is about to happen in 27 days! We will enter a world where tacos no longer exist. Go to the link at the top of my feed to preorder, "Dragons Love Tacos 2: The Sequel". If you preorder you will also receive a bumper sticker and you will be entered to win an ultimate taco party basket. . . Dragon Craft: Toilet paper roll, construction paper, tape, glue, pom poms, googly eyes, and tissue paper. I took the construction paper and cut it to size and glued it to the paper roll. Then I glued on the pom poms for the nostrils. I then glued the eyes to the remaining pom poms and then glued those to the roll. Lastly, I cut tissue paper and used tape the tape to secure the tissue paper to the inside of the paper roll. Once everything is dry you can put the toilet paper roll dragon to you mouth and blow air through the tube.
