After reading a Danny Phantom YMMV trope on TV Tropes that had Sam Manson listed in the examples (listing her as being entitled, hypocritical and jealous over who Danny was dating), that kinda reminded me of Princess Bubblegum from Adventure Time as she's also a "split fanbase" character for her flaws and intellect and barely living up to her title as princess).

Comparing how flawed the two were, that gave me the inspiration to make this.

DP x DC crossover where the Justice League finds out about Danny because of a flashmob video going viral.

And by that I mean that Danny, in Phantom form after just finishing a ghost fight, happened to stumble upon a flash mob to a mashup of old movie songs happening in the mall. Kinda just floated there invisibly watching for a bit and then. Ghostbusters song. And Danny just CANNOT resist, turning visible and doing his own lil retro dances above the flash mob, eventually landing and joining in when the choreography matches something he knows.

Multiple people falter a little at his appearance but overall it makes the flashmob like 100 times better.

Anyways someone recorded the flash mob and uploads it with a title like “Retro Flashmob in old mall!!!! Ghostly Small Town Hero joins in?!?!” and the video just ROCKETS into popularity.

One of the batkids happens to find it, and when looking at the comments, finds a pinned comment linked to a petition to get rid of the anti-ecto acts, which of course leads to them finding out what the anti-ecto acts are, and well.

The idea of the kid in the video, who very obviously looked like he was having the time of his life (or after life) having to suffer that from the government is just.... unacceptable. So of course the Justice League gets involved.

Upon confronting Phantom he’s like “????? how’d you find out about me??? as far as I know stuff that happens in Amity Park Stays In Amity Park??”

to which someone bring up his dance moves and Danny just stands there for a second, blank faced, and they only see his face and ears light up green for a second before they blink and he’s GONE

Danny then proceeds to do all that he can to avoid the Justice League because. Earth’s Heroes??? Found out about him through his dancing???? so not cool (in Danny’s opinion)

This becomes all the harder as he keeps getting dragged into having to fight alongside them for multiple disasters.

I propose a mashup between Rejected! Soulmate AU and Evil!Clone Tim... instead of Danny going to the DC universe, clone Tim saved him and moves with him. Danny can be more morally evil or it can be a lot of angst for original!Tim.

Does clones have soulmates? I think it would interesting if they don't have.

What do you think it would be clone!Tim reaction? And original!Tim?

This ^^^ This is brilliant!!! Clones not having soulmarks can add onto the "clones aren't people" angst and Danny would love Evil Tim so much and he's in a prime mental state to be manipulated and brainwashed. Even without that Danny is practically falling over himself to make Evil Tim happy.

On the "can be morally evil or angst for Original! Tim" i ask: why not both? E. Tim is bringing Phantom into the world of villiany and O. Tim can do nothing to stop it as Phantom begins to show his true power. Justice League Dark eventually has to step in but by this time its too late. E. Tim has created hundreds of plans and countermeasures to defeat/kill them and for the most part succeeded.

O. Tim feels guilt, not only for the deaths of all those heros who probably wouldn't have died if his clone didn't have access to Phantom but for Phantom himself meeting such an "awful fate"

In the mean time Danny is having the time of his afterlife with E. Tim who treats him like a queen and often declares him as his "greatest treasure"

Bonus points if Evil Cone Tim is kind of a Yandere. Maybe Danny just doesn't care of Danny is a Yandere also. Two overprotective super powerful psychos in love who refuse to ever hurt eachother.

Terrifying.

Anyway, E. Tim would definitely rub it in O. Tim's face. Someone at some point calls E. Tim "Mr. Steal your girl" and Danny laughs. He also rubs it in his face how many doors Phantom had opened for him.

E. Tim is now:

1. Immortal. Kinda?

2. Given access to all kids of magical artifacts and advanced tech

3. Completely stable thanks to Phantom and the magical yeti scientists hes friends with offers to make clone babies for the two of them in the very distant future

4. Has an amulet that let's him turn into a dragon at will

5. Has his originals soulmate thoroughly in love with him and willing to do anything he asks of him and its clean-no matter how hard E. Tim tries to hide it- he's in love with Phantom too.

E. Tim is living the good life and O. Tim is very jealous.

I have 69 (nice) works on AO3 so there was quite a lot to go through.

1. red in tooth and claw (that’s your fatal flaw)

Summary: Everyone finds out Wes was right in the worst way possible.

Reason: This was the first fic I wrote in phicphight ‘22, my first year of participating for the event. I remember loving writing this in the moment and beginning to flesh out Wes’ character in my style. It was the first time he had a main POV in my fics. It definitely took me out my comfort zone as I had to take Wes, someone who wants his discoveries to be known, and reduce him to this subdued bystander facing the realisation that although he did want to reveal Danny, he never thought it through or considered the impacts.

2. lie like a tombstone (yet secrets will bloom)

Summary: Valerie finds a body in the park thanks to some ghostly flowers, and she never would’ve guessed that it belonged to Phantom. Only, the context around his death sounds.. concerning. Because he died alone. And no one ever reported him missing. But that just barely scratches the surface of Phantom’s secrets.

Reason: This fic is so self indulgent it’s actually ridiculous. 35k+ (and ongoing) words of a corpse au and no one knows au mashup with me trying to keep the mystery up as long as possible. I’ve been working on it for two years now, it’s seen me through college, and who knows how long forever more. I appreciate this fic a lot, because it’s a massive motivator for me to keep writing and reminds me that I am capable of longfics outside of one-shots. The Val and Wes team up was unexpected when it began but honestly one of my fav combinations of characters to write. Of course it’s also a big favourite because it’s a corpse au ❤️🤌.

3. Mask

Summary: Danny never really took a minute to consider what he looked like in Phantom form. He didn’t need to, not really. It wasn’t as if he was scared of what was under the mask. No, not at all.

Reason: another self indulgent fic. It was Ectober 2021 and I saw this prompt and went “yup it’s danno has a HAZMAT hood time”. I loved writing the reveal scene in this the most, when the Fentons and Val realise that Phantom is just this kid with no evil intent (best genre of fics imo). Also the opportunity for a sequel is prevalent—although I’m unsure if I’ll go ahead with that. I put a lot of work trying to get the build up and reveal done smoothly.

4. Forest Fires

Summary: 1967. Nine-year-old Madeleine Walker watched her older brother Daniel Walker die in a lab accident. Years on, she’s certain that Danny Phantom is the ghost of her dead brother. But she’ll never know now, having thrown away the opportunity in a fleeting moment of anger. Meanwhile, a confused Danny sets out to uncover what happened to the uncle he didn’t even know existed. Only the truth is much more than just a simple lab accident.

Reason: although only one chapter and two prequel one-shots at the minute, this AU/series is something I’m very proud of. I’ve planned a lot out for it and I can’t wait to get all the mysteries set and unravelling. Maddie’s portrayal of character I feel satisfied with considering the turmoil over her brother and having to deal with Danny’s changing behaviour. Excited to get this one going again. Also love it because I get to include my OCs 😁.

5. beyond false pretences (we search in plain sight)

Summary: Danny Fenton disappeared without a trace. Soon after, his family followed. Five years on, Sam Manson is determined to figure out why.

Reason: This was my third phicphight fic in 2022 (I seemed to have really liked my fics that event 😆) and I saw the prompt and ran with it. I particularly love writing mystery and suspense so this was very fun to do. Unfortunately it’s not finished but I like what I’ve done so far. I loved putting the easter-eggs within the fic and seeing if readers could spot them. And it was great fun to see people theorising on what they thought had happened to Danny.

Danny Phantom manwha mashup idea i really want to make a thing.

I keep getting this want to write this sort of crossover between Danny Phantom and the general plot for those korean manwhas where another dimension is invading the earth and people get superpowers(liminality?). Danny opening the portal isekai reincarnates himself into the Realms, opening the earth to be invaded by ghosts and monsters while Danny survives for an undisclosed amount of time but only a year passes on earth, hunters associations and guilds start popping up.

The story would mainly focus on dannys adventure in the expanded Infinite Realms as he gains abilities with his adaptive powers, with a chapter every once in a while focusing on the battle of earth.

One earth some of the High Class Hunters would be familiar characters; Valerie, Sam, Tucker are obvious choices to defend their city. Sam and Tucker would have fallen apart without Danny being there ti stop their fighting but they still work together to defend their city in Dannys memory. The GIW would be a hunting guild ranked rather high. The Scaredy Cats could be changed to make the tiger and handler into an A or S class. Wes would be a low rank with visions... the amount of things that dont really need to be altered is a long list. Even pariah dark could show up as a raid boss.

Meanwhile Dannys traversing the zone, making companions and enemies, eventually coming back to reveal, "hey, so i know its been a long time but im not as dead as you believed i was."

This idea pops into my head all the damn time but every time i sit down to write it my spoons are gone and it dribbles away.

Phinal Round: 1st Place Match

"Ah, if only Mads were here to see this." Jack Fenton wiped a tear of joy from his eye as the Janitorial Squad power washed the arena. "Any chance you'll do reruns?"

"Uh…" 

"Let's just say 'no,'" Vic answered for Tali.

"Sounds good to me." They nodded. "I just wasn't sure if he meant on video, or in person."

"Oh. Well in that case, I can send him home with the security footage. Might keep him entertained enough to stay out of our business."

"Great idea as always, Vic." 

The phinal phighters phloated out into the ring below.

“Wait a second.” Danny frowned, squinting at one of the phighters. “Is that… Dash?” 

“Dash Backstreet? That football player my son’s buddies with?” Jack nearly jumped out of his seat, but Vic and Lexx managed to hold him down. “Let me at ‘im! There’s no way I’m letting my son go to school with a ghost!”

“So Phantom Planet wasn’t canon after all. Cool.” Tali nodded. They weren’t concerned about Jack right now; Lexx and Vic were applying Denny’s maple syrup to the back of his jumpsuit, which would keep him stuck in his seat even without them restraining him. “And no, that’s not Dash Baxter. That’s Angie Constellaj, one of our two phinalists. She/her for the good ghost, please.” 

Angie spun her football on the tip of her finger and winked.

“No such thing as a good ghost,” Jack muttered, but Tali ignored him.

“And our other phinalist is the effervescent Ray (Ghostsray), formerly known as Void. Let’s give them both an explosive welcome!”

Ray tipped their green baseball cap as confetti cannons went off around the arena. The hat filled up with the confetti, which was in the shape of tiny Danno faces. The paper Dannos scattered in Ray’s hair when they put the hat back on. Luckily, Jack was too far away to notice that the faces were modeled after his son.

“Will one of our phighters get torn apart, molecule by molecule? Will Constellaj’s football protect her through the final highs and lows of the Phandom Phight Club? Will Ray’s love-and-gun combo shoot its way into our hearts? Will I ever get to finish playing Xenoblade? There’s only one way to find out!” Tali let out an earsplitting DOOT on their kazoo. “Let the Immortal Kombat begin!”

The speakers began playing a mashup of the Mortal Kombat and Danny Phantom theme songs. It didn’t distract Constellaj, who hurled her football with practiced precision. 

“Touchdown!” she shouted as it struck home in Ray’s shoulder.

Ray skidded back, pulling the football free. They bandaged the ectoplasm-leaking wound with their purple scarf. 

“I’ve been around this block before.” Ray grinned, cocking their gun. “It’s gonna take more than that to knock me out!”

A pink blast erupted from their gun, which Angie dodged by falling to the ground and beginning to do pushups. 

“You think she’s taking the kinning too far?” Danny asked.

Tali shrugged. “Whatever keeps her alive—well, dead, I guess—out there is fine by me.”

And it did. While Ray was busy being impressed at Angie’s physical strength, she leapt to her feet.

“Baxter Beam Attack!” she shouted, firing a ray that obliterated Ray. 

“But… the power of love…!” Ray gasped, trying to fight back with their own lovebeam. 

“Guess you should’ve loved winning more.” Angie grinned.

With an explosion that smelled mostly of old gym socks, Ray was blasted against the pavement. (Not torn apart molecule by molecule, thankfully. It would be difficult to give the 2nd place trophy to someone who’d been vaporized.)

“And with that, we have our winner!” Tali called through the megaphone. “Ray is unable to battle! Congratulations to Angie Constellaj, the winner of our 2023 Phandom Phight Club!”

Amid cheers and shots, the spectators stormed the arena, as if they’d just finished a particularly tense football game. Angie crowdsurfed over the top of them, basking in the victory.

“I hope everyone had a great time,” Tali said, though even through the megaphone they doubted the excited crowd was listening. “Special thanks to Vic and Lexx, who handled just about everything while I was at ghost college. The Phight couldn’t have happened without their hard work. And thanks to everyone who voted and participated in any other way! We hope you’ll stop by the Denny’s for post-Phight refreshments—pancakes that probably won’t have any hairs in them.”

“No promises,” Vic added with a grin.

“If that happens, we’ll throw in a ghegg as emotional compensation,” Lexx chimed in.

“Sounds like a good deal to me,” Tali agreed. “Thanks for coming everyone, and see you on the other side!”

i have recently been introduced to The Ballad of Jane Doe and i am in love and my brain that loves to put music to fandoms immediately goes danny phantom and im like ok 

but but but 

but then it goes DP x DC crossover and then im like how would this work to make the song and mashup amazing

and so my brain says AU where Danny gets stranded in dc dimension and loses his memories and his corpse, (corpse au cause like ballad of jane doe ya feel me) and his corpse gets buried or cremate, (my brain personally said his corpse gets lost in a clean up job and stuck in a mass grave but i think thats caused by the background singers more than anything.) After a while once he had talked or joined jl or yj something along those lines they ask about his past and all he knows is his name is Danny (Danny only nothing else he adds Phantom cause hes ded) and that his body is buried here or something like that
