Happy World Adoption Day! November 9th is actually a really special day in our family. November 9th 2017 we met a tiny 6 month old baby boy that became our son! . . I’m loving this picture Scott took of me. It was pretty fun to wear Star Wars bounds and run around Batuu. We had a great experience with cast members this day and it was the best experience in Batuu! . . I’m gonna level with you guys, I haven’t seen the Star Wars prequels. Before I met Scott I had only ever seen the stand alone Ewok movie. I’m not a Star Wars fan, I appreciate the movies and I appreciate everyone’s love for it because they are awesome and epic, but this bound and this dapper day was for the hubby. Fall dapper day is happening in @waltdisneyworld this weekend and it’s goals to be there one day. Well honestly I would take Paris or Orlando for a dapper day if I got the opportunity! . . We had so much fun this year meeting new friends and celebrating @xandercutiepi’s adoption anniversary. But behind these smiles and put together outfits there were moments of quiet sadness. November 3rd and November 9th seem like very monumental days in our lives when it comes to Xander, we thought maybe they would bring us his baby sister. But alas no phone calls yet. . . I feel like our journey is an open book because I post about it here but the waiting is so hard. The unknown seems to be scary. I truthfully still don’t know if we will match with a newborn or a 1 year old. It’s hard to plan and be ready when there are so many unknowns. We wake up almost everyday asking “what if they call today?” . . I understand there is unknown in pregnancy, will it be your due date? Will the baby be early? But the variant in age is only slightly. A few weeks, maybe. But they will either be premature or newborn. So you buy diapers for newborn. You buy clothes for 0-3 months. You don’t have bins of clothes from 0-3 years just in case. . . I wouldn’t trade our journey for pregnancy. I truly wouldn’t. That might sound ignorant or arrogant, but I don’t mean it that way. I know Xander was meant to be our son. I cannot imagine my life without him and I would have never been able to give birth to him. I know our daughter is out there, either in womb or in care of someone else. Happy Wednesday friends! I’m taking a one day break from our @disneyplus Disneybounding because we’re still recovering from Dapper Day weekend. Haven’t even unpacked from our hotel stay and Xander and mommy just snuggled watching movies all day yesterday. . . This weekend we had the best @dapperday yet! We got to see so many friends and meet so many sweet new ones! . . Our outfits came together really well and I’m not even ashamed I never changed into my dapper shoes on Sunday. Sometime Dapper Day doesn’t have to be full out, it’s okay to just enjoy the moments and not have to make everything perfect. We’re learning with a 2.5 year old that Dapper Day is different than it was, and that’s okay. But we met some amazing friends this weekend that were so helpful and sweet to our little guy and we’re so thankful for these new friendships! . . We went to a meetup on Sunday in toontown hosted by @boundersofcolor @afrosandpixiedust and @blackgirldisney and it was so much fun! It was such a wonderful group of truly welcoming and kind people. Happy fall dapper day! We started out this weekend with a low key Friday night at Disneyland then Saturday morning with breakfast at Goofys Kitchen! We had never had breakfast there before and it was so much fun! . . It was our second attempt at a character breakfast and it went so much more smoothly than our first attempt. Xander LOVED it! He loved seeing all the characters and also really loved the Mickey shaped foods! . . Xander has recently had some issues with dairy (doctor thinks) so we’re trying to be dairy free for a few weeks to see if it helps. One of Goofy’s sous chef’s came out and gave us a tour of the buffet to point out all the dairy free options! They also brought him special dairy free pancakes and waffles and a sorbet for dessert! Disneyland is so wonderful about helping with allergies so definitely ask if you need some guidance! . . We’re ready to spend the day at Disneyland and see friends in their weekend best!
