Post Trump, Biden Debate: New Theme Songs For Democrats, Republicans & Independents
After the Presidential debate between Donald Trump & President Joe Biden ended, new emotions emerged among Democrats, Republicans & Independents minutes after the discussion ended. If I matched the current mood of each party/voting block to a song, it would probably be these three below. Democrats: Hello Darkness, My Old Friend The Sound Of Silence by Disturbed Democrats were mainly…

A Proper Introduction
This post has been sitting in my drafts for literal months at this point, but in response to the impending collapse of Twitter, I figured it was time to finally make a post about my writing so that I could start advertising on this platform.
So, hello, my name is Saffron (though some call me Becca). I am a autistic trans lesbian polyamorous dragonkin (she/they), and I’m a writer. As of right now, the bulk of my writing is available for free online. My main projects are my web novels, which I typically write two of at any given time, releasing chapters every other week on a regular schedule. The publicly available chapters of my novels are available in three places: you can read them on my Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/saffrondragon), on my wordpress page (https://beccawritesbooks.wordpress.com/) or on Scribblehub (https://www.scribblehub.com/profile/9163/saffrondragon/). Warning: Scribblehub is a free story hosting website, so although it has better support structures (bookmarking, ratings, etc) it is also full of weird hentai.
Like I said before, I have a Patreon. As of right now, there are two main benefits to being a patron of mine: at the lowest tier, you get early access to chapters of my books, usually between two and four chapters ahead of the free version depending on how well the writing is going at that time. There’s also a higher tier, which gives access to a collection of short stories I’ve written for Patreon (some of them smutty, others not), and the ability to vote on which short stories I will write next.
And now we get to the reason why I’ve been procrastinating writing this post for so long: now I have to try to summarize all of my various works! The Selene Series: Marcus Farrier is a physics graduate student who gets isekai’d to Selene, a steampunk world where humanity evolved to only have one sex. There, Marcus takes up the name “Emma”, and rapidly gets caught up in the chaotic and deadly politics of Selene, and begins having some revelations about their past, their gender, and how they got to Selene in the first place. The Selene series is actually my longest-running writing project, with four years and two-and-three-quarter books under my belt out of a planned four in total. Currently on hiatus, but I will return to it someday.
The Earthborn Emissary: Alex Sierra is living a normal life, with their girlfriend Miri and their best friend Quinn, until the day they fall ill, go into a coma, and wake up to discover that they’ve just emerged from their chrysalis. Alex is actually an Emissary, an insectoid alien from a species that has been driven to the brink of extinction by a genocide; now, their adoptive parents are going to have to take them into space in search of the other members of their species. My longest single book so far, and the closest thing I’ve come to writing what I would consider to be a “YA” novel. My most popular book, though I don’t quite know why. Currently completed, though I may write a sequel someday. The Chained Flame: My most recent and personal favorite of my novels. It’s a loosely-plotted dark fantasy story telling the life of Lindír, prince of the kingdom of Hvalheim, who was cursed at birth to have the body of a dragon. After growing up in the castle dungeons, Lindír finally finds his freedom, and ends up travelling the North as a wandering entertainer, a savage raider, a royal champion, and more. A very tragic book dealing heavily with the theme of traumatic upbringings. Also features a dragon protagonist who does not at any point become human, nor does he particularly want to. In-progress as of the writing of this post, but barely a week away from completion. I also have a couple of short stories posted, as well as two erotic Locked Tomb fanfics on my AO3 account. I generally post new chapters of my novels every second week, Selene updating on Thursdays and Chained Flame updating on Mondays.
So yeah, that’s what I do for a living! I’ll probably start making announcement posts for new chapters, both in public and on Patreon, as well as any Patreon exclusives, votes, or anything else writing-related that I’m doing. Indeed, I might be making some more posts later today, so keep an eye out for that. Thank you in advance to anyone who spreads the word, and extra thank you to anyone who actually goes the extra mile and starts supporting me. To all of my followers who aren’t interested in my writing, you can block the “becca writes books” tag, which will cover all of my writing-related posts.

Medli's Melodies: Lorule Main Theme
In A Link Between Worlds, Link goes on an epic adventure back and forth between the bright, cheerful kingdom of Hyrule and its counterpart, the dark, gloomy Lorule. At first glance, the game isn’t too different from A Link to the Past with the similar maps and location of important places, and even the music draws inspiration from the classic SNES game. The music for Lorule Field sounds very…

A Good Rule of Thumb: Too Clever is Dumb
Sooo, I am going through the site, post by post, to make sure everything is legible. Got about 100 left to go. But, here's the deal, my custom reusable blocks, which WordPress is so proud to offer... Aren't.
It's the updates. It's a year's worth of updates since I designed most of them, to WP and to the third party blocks that hafta keep up with it. Milo's cards don't really work anymore, nor do my existing accordions - although the the template still works on the latter if I stamp out a whole new block, the accordions weren't as complicated.
There wouldn't be as much of a problem if I could make a post and never, ever open it in the editor again, ha-ha, but that's not how I roll. So, while I am fixing colours and minor formatting errors, I am experiencing an occasional crashed block. I haven't killed any of Milo's cards yet, but the template doesn't work to make new ones, so it's inevitable.
First, I am correcting for legibility. But, eventually, I will have to go back around and redo the cards, and probably the Liner Notes, and other random stuff. I'll have to pick a new card format before I post the next instalment, because there's a card in it. I might end up going way more simple with no font or graphics at all - I'm having trouble with the theme fonts overriding the card fonts. Or else I'll hafta go back to images, which is less accessible and won't work with the dark mode. I know probably nobody's willing to put up with my work via a screen reader, but I'm trying not to be an asshole, just in case, ya know?
Well, tl;dr, I believed WordPress about a thing and made more work for myself. If grouped in a complex structure, Gutenberg's reusable blocks aren't reusable. Depending on complexity, you got about a year, then you gotta remake them all over again.
Beyond that: Since Discuz started dropping updates of untested compatibility, the SPOILER tags don't work anymore! There are spoiler-heavy comments now. I might be able to fix it, but in the meantime, NEW READERS (if any) BEWARE THE COMMENTS.

Which Page Builder Plugin is the Best: Elementor, Beaver Builder, or Divi?
Are you ready to build a stunning website but feeling overwhelmed by the choices of page builder plugins? You're not alone! Let's dive into the world of WordPress page builders and uncover which one might be your perfect match.
The Big Three: Elementor, Beaver Builder, and Divi
Before we start our showdown, let's meet our contenders:
Elementor: The new kid on the block that's taken the WordPress world by storm.
Beaver Builder: A reliable veteran known for its stability and ease of use.
Divi: The Swiss Army knife of page builders, packed with features and design options.
Battle of the Builders: Pros and Cons
Let's break down the strengths and weaknesses of each:
Elementor
Pros:
Intuitive drag-and-drop interface
Huge library of templates and widgets
Active community and frequent updates
Cons:
Can slow down your site if overused
Premium version required for advanced features
Beaver Builder
Pros:
Clean, bloat-free code
Excellent for team collaborations
Consistent updates and stability
Cons:
Fewer fancy effects compared to competitors
Slightly higher learning curve for beginners
Divi
Pros:
All-in-one theme and builder solution
Vast array of design options
Lifetime pricing option available
Cons:
Can be overwhelming for newcomers
Potential lock-in to the Divi ecosystem
Introducing Element Pack: The Dark Horse
While the big three dominate discussions, let's not overlook a rising star - Element Pack by BdThemes. This Elementor addon brings some unique advantages to the table:
Performance-Focused: Optimized code that doesn't bog down your site
Versatile Widgets: Adds functionality without the need for multiple plugins
Regular Updates: Constantly evolving with new features and improvements
Compared to standalone builders, Element Pack enhances Elementor's capabilities without the learning curve of a completely new system. It's like supercharging your car instead of buying a new one!
How to Choose the Right Page Builder for Your Project
Selecting the perfect page builder isn't one-size-fits-all. Here's how to make the right choice:
Assess Your Skill Level: Beginners might prefer Elementor or Divi's user-friendly interfaces.
Consider Your Budget: Beaver Builder and Element Pack offer great value for professionals.
Evaluate Your Needs: Complex designs? Divi or Elementor with Element Pack might be your best bet.
Think Long-term: Consider the ecosystem and potential for growth.
Test Drive: Most offer free versions or trials. Give them a spin!
Remember, the best page builder is the one that helps you create beautiful, functional websites efficiently. Whether you choose the versatility of Elementor, the stability of Beaver Builder, the all-in-one approach of Divi, or decide to supercharge your experience with Element Pack, you're on your way to website building success!
Ready to start creating? Explore these options, and don't forget to check out Element Pack for that extra boost of functionality and performance!

Navigation
Tumblr media
Sul, Sul! Feroshgirlsims here, and yes, I have pulled my life together enough to set up some navigation. I am still a simblr baby, so this will probably expand as I figure out what to share.
I mostly write about deeply unhinged, morally grey characters who get happy endings. My stories deal with mature themes and are for 18+.
The Save File Chronicles (Main Story)
In this “slice of life with a side of bloodshed” story, gods, monsters, and all the supernatural in-between find themselves in an alternate universe with mundane lives and no memories of their former powers. Will the drama of mortality be enough? Or will the call of the otherworldly be too much to resist?
Beginning | Latest Trailer Lore Sublots and Extras
If you prefer to read the long-form versions of chapters, check out my WordPress.
Other Stories
These stories are currently retired on my old WordPress. The chances are very low that I will ever bring these back again, but I’ve learned never to say never. Both of these include the OG versions of my current characters, so if that excites you, have at it!
The Strauds - Home is where the heart is—the bodies are in the basement.
Baking By Death - Petty gods, dark magic—and one baking contest to rule them all.

Hey, I love your work, esp your Dramione stuff! I noticed the tags on some of your posts and I was wondering: are you planning on turning Sweet Sacrifice into original fiction? I would be interested in seeing more genre romance in the mainstream
Aw, thank you! I've had the intent of adapting Sweet Sacrifice away from Harry Potter lore and into its own original work for a while now. (I talk about it some on my writing blog here and here.)
I sort of started on this already by working on an AU comic loosely based on Sweet Sacrifice since last year. It covers some of the same ground but the plot has been reduced down to mainly just being about Caius and Isolde (formerly Draco and Hermione) because if I cover anything else from the actual fic plot this comic would be like a hundred pages long. I'm working on chapter 2 of the comic right now and it's at 13 pages currently and about to get very NSFW, but I don't know if I plan to make a chapter 3 to the comic because it's really intensive work, but we'll see. This is mostly for fun but it's also helped me consider how the story might go now that I've stripped the HP elements from it and am trying my hand at world building and developing these characters further into something of my own and not relying on someone else's lore.
(I'll post more of chapter 1 of the comic but I don't think I'll post it here. So far what I've shared of it has been mainly on WordPress and DeviantArt but the full pdf is up on my Patreon.)
As for writing, I would really love to give Sweet Sacrifice a do over and make it a proper horror novel starting at a point before D + H/Caius and Isolde meet. I really want to flesh out the doomed village better and really delve into life before/during the werewolf's haunting before we get into the whole mated life thing.
I like the idea of doing it on my own and just compiling it into an ebook and "publishing" it on my own site. If I did it any other way I'd probably have to change specific/significant aspects of it to keep it from getting flagged or rejected or something, considering the themes running throughout the fic. I don't want to buckle on it remaining horror/dark romance (and the romance is questionable, at that). I don't see my type of work ever hitting mainstream (and I don't think I'd want it to either, to be honest). I don't like the idea of having to really water down the things I write to appeal to a larger audience when I already have you and many others as an audience (who already know what you're in for)!
I'm sort of taking a break from writing it right now because I've been feeling burnt out at how long the chapters have gotten and I still need to figure out the rest of the plot but the intent is absolutely there so I'll get to it soon, I hope.
TLDR: Yes, absolutely this is something I want/plan to do! I've got this story shredded between my teeth and I'll rearrange these letters to tell it in as many ways as I can, and make it my own.
(This was a really long answer to your question I'm sorry T-T ) but thanks for asking!
bonus: i don't think i've posted these here yet but bottom left is a WIP shot of the SS ch. 2 cover and image on the right is a pre-background/text flats layout of one of the final pages from chapter 1. Putting this bit under a read more bc of the sensitive material.

Episode 523: Back to Hell, from whence thee came!
The first episode of Dark Shadows, broadcast on ABC-TV on 27 June 1966, was a moody, atmospheric Gothic drama, characterized above all by its hushed tone. For months afterward, the show was almost an essay on the theme of quietness. Now we come to the second anniversary of that premiere, and quietness is the last thing we hear. This installment marks the final farewell of the show’s single…

Doja Cat's New Song "Demons" is a Powerful Song!
Doja Cat’s new song “Demons” is a dark and twisted trap track that explores themes of addiction, self-destruction, and mental health. The song is a departure from Doja Cat’s usual pop sound, but it is a powerful and personal statement from the artist. The song begins with a distorted synth beat that sets the dark and menacing tone for the track. Doja Cat’s vocals are raw and emotional, as she…

Goodreads | Amazon US | B&N | Blackwell’s | Bookshop “I dreamt myths larger than my girl body could hold.” such a heartfelt literary horror debut that i think i will hold inside me forever. i really did love this, and the writing is just completely out of this world. i cannot wait to see what this author does next, and just follow their career and stories forever. ren has loved mermaids and their stories for all her life, but when she is a small girl she also discovers her love and fascination for the water, and the escapism and transformation it can bring. She joins her school’s swim team and starts swimming competitively, and this story takes place in highschool when her life is consumed with being the best swimmer her body will allow her to be, despite being only human… for now. and we get to watch ren holding on to the identity of a girl, of a swimmer, of a child of immigrants, of being queer, and we get to also watch her become the mermaid she was always meant to be. chlorine is also a little bit of an epistolary novel, and we get to see letters being written to ren’s friend/love interest, cathy, where we get to see her perspective of the transformation of ren, while also being filled with longing. this just adds an extra dark tone to the novel, because the reader is reading these one sided letters of missing someone, while switching back and forth to the story and the direction of events that are playing out with Ren inside her mind. i feel like you probably shouldn’t know too much more before going in, but some other things in this novel that i really loved, despite being hard to read: talk of being a child of diaspora and how the american dream your elders came searching for can really be a nightmare. how doctors can be horrible and not actually care about their patients or their health, and how medical care you are choosing to get can still feel like a violation, and how these last two things can be so much bigger when you’re a queer nonwhite kid. how adults can push kids so far past their limits, yet still ignore all the signs that they are drowning. overall, i really did love this and sapphic asian stories about feeling like you’re from a completely different world are always going to tug on my heartstrings very hard and very deeply. (and if you need to hear it, you belong and your continuous transformation is beautiful.) i really recommend this debut if you are in a good head space with the trigger warnings. bonus: this author is army and wrote a really beautiful piece about their debut novel, inspiration, and bts (and i am very grateful to read this blue side story and gain hope.) – On BTS, Writing, and What Makes an Artist. bonus bonus: i wrote this entire review listening to come back to me by rm on repeat because bts are also one of my greatest inspirations in life. content warnings at the start of the book: racism, misogyny, self-harm, eating disorders, homophobia, depression, and sexual violence. additional trigger + content warnings i found while reading: blood, menstruation, scene getting an iud, talk of abortion, pregnancy scare, abandonment, child abuse, grooming, hospital setting, concussion, extreme headaches, car crash one sentence mention, anxiety, grief, pica, needles, talk of debt, abuse of medication, drinking, smoking, vomit, bad medical professionals and treatment, a lot of microaggressions from the love interest, and i just want to emphasize that there is a lot of talk of body image and a lot of food descriptions that are central themes in this book that go hand in hand with disordered eating. goodreads | instagram | youtube | kofi | spotify | amazon | wishlist
