I have decided that when we are given the all clear from the pandemic and it feels safe, and I have a little bit of money, I'm going on a road trip to Northern California to see as many #DavidPark paintings as I possibly can. My #1 exhibit to see in 2020 was the @sfmoma show of his work and I'm still very sad about not being able to see it. I do not want to have to wait decades for a show like this again. This work was owned by his wife, Dolores, who loaned it to the @icaboston and the 1962 retrospective at the @guggenheim. Guggenheim director Thomas Messer described them as “lyric poetry.” Müller was represented by the renowned Staempfli Gallery, which also showed works by #SalvadorDali, #PaulDelvaux, #GeorgeRickey and #DavidPark, among others. . It really shouldn’t be so difficult to get him to just sit down for a few minutes.

She couldn’t tell where the blood was coming from, or even whose it was, just that it was all over his clothes and she needed it to not get on the tiles under them. Parker tried to ease him to the floor before digging the first aid kit from under the sink and popping open the plastic case. There had been gunshots and screaming and she needed to keep her head so that things could get handled instead of getting worse.

When she saw his wince, she was quick to settle her weight on her knees and desperately tried to block out the memories that threatened to creep in.

( screams waking her from sleep, blood on this very same kitchen floor, the ache that still filled her chest every night )

Shaking her head to clear it, Parker pulled out gauze and bandages - based on the amount of blood seeping into his shirt, she was going to need them. “Where does it hurt?”

“I’m fine-”

“Bullshit, David. Take your fucking shirt off so I can make sure you don’t bleed out.”

“Parker.” He grabbed her wrist, blue eyes meeting golden brown while he spoke carefully, evenly, hiding the pain he must be in. “Super soldier, remember? I’m going to be just fine. Go. Hide. I’ll come find you when the danger is gone.”

She bit her lip, tears pooling in her eyes while she let the gauze flutter from between her fingers to the floor. “Promise...?”

“I promise.”

Eserde, beyaz tuval üzerinde rastgele yerleştirilmiş #canlı renklerden oluşan damlalar, sanki suyun üzerinde yüzüyor gibidir.
