vocal stims are NOT gross.
verbal stims are NOT annoying.
big stims are NOT aggressive.
loud stims are NOT embarrassing.
there's nothing wrong with stimming. nothing wrong with vocal or verbal stims. there's nothing wrong with big or loud stims.
you stim a little? that's cool.
you stim sometimes? that's cool.
you stim often? that's cool.
you stim constantly? that's cool too!!
as a level 2, mid to high support needs autistic system, we are still working on self injurious stimming for most alters in our system. if you are not hurting others our yourself, let yourself stim. do it alone if you got to, but there's NOTHING wrong with stimming in front of people. stimming is natural for many neurodivergent folks out there.
now at first we admit, stimming in public is scary. we don't go outside much, but when we delt with our regession, and couldn't mask constantly, we had our rehabilitation specialists that we felt safe around was there. we now stim pretty much freely in public, if we are feeling fearful of people looking, we will try to use fidget/stim toys. some alters will stim loud and big with fidgets too haha. some alters quite stim. some alters big stim.
regardless of how you stim you should be allowed to stim freely. forget what others think. we has the same issue with us bringing plushies with us in public. if it helps you, it doesn't matter what people think. we know on some level unmasking is hard, but you shouldn't feel ashamed to be youself.
anyways the point is as long as you are not hurting youself of others, you can stim as much as you like ♡ - The Dreamdrop System
