Hey, y'all! I'm super excited to finally share a peek of a piece I've been hard at work on for weeks and weeks: it's my contribution to the Queer OC Zine 2024!! 👀 And of course it's Decimus. This bad boy's made entirely of gouache and the colors are so funky and fun. It'll be a while yet until I can share the full picture--with all the collage parts hehe--but I can't wait for y'all to see it! (Also this is my first time doing anything for a zine, I'm STOKED 🤠🤠)

Of course, I'm just one of dozens of other artists and all of us worked super hard with the stellar folks at @queeroc-zine to share our lil blorbos. Best part? Shakespeare misspells his name in Julius Caesar, calling him Decius.

Tom’s character in “The Book of Clarence” is such a smirky asshole. I love him.

I wasn’t sure how I felt about the hair color, but it turned out to be really useful for spotting Tom quickly on the screen.

Happy birthday to War Chief Decimus!

Today is his -475th birthday!

Decimus is a former member of the Covenant who witnessed Atriox's rebellion against his would-be executioners. Emboldened by his actions, his joined the rebellion and became one of the founder members of the Banished.

Much of Decimus' initial assignments involved recruitment for the Banished until it had the membership and resources to function independently. After the Banished grew larger, Atriox's fleet would arrive at the Ark, intent on using the foundries to make additional Halo rings. Decimus lead the charge, killing every human they encountered on the Ark.

When the Spirit of Fire arrived on the Ark, Decimus was tasked with preventing them from using the information to discover the Cartographer's location. He would fail and fall back to Enduring Conviction until he was finally defeated by the combined marine, Spartan, and Spirit of Fire attack two days later.

Upon his death, Escharum replaced him as Atriox's second-in-command.

wada sez: In panel 3, Megatron is remembering dialogue from a panel midway through Megatron Origin issue #1. Senator Decimus has had a pickaxe thrown at his shoulder by Megatron, in anger at the summary execution of one of the protesting miners. The last panel is an homage to Megatron’s murder of Ironhide in The Transformers: The Movie, with the wider idea of Megatron being “without mercy” also coming from that movie. Panel detail below.

Thomas has hands down best rizz out of literally anyone in the musem who’s not Larry. Like man’s not oblivious. Man knows Pavo wants him but is not ready and he waits for him. He threatens his abusive mother. He oozes rizz. I swear he knows the best pick up lines, too. And they come so naturally to him - Pavo will swoon. Troublerizzsome Tom fr.

Anyway I have a headcanon Pius and Thomas will get along amazingly well. Don’t ask how I know, I just know. They’ll vibe.
