Shout out to all the people out there who think I’m rude for not responding to them when in reality I’m just deaf and didn’t hear them.

You seem to hate capitalism and since I can't share this with anyone else, I'll share it with you.
I'm Broke, with a capital B. It's been hard try to find a job, so I've been focusing on school. You may wonder why I'm telling you this, but it's relevant to my confession.
A Macy's I rarely go to was having a final sale, first time I went they said everything was 50% off. At max everything was 12-13% off, so I didn't get anything. Even though, I found a beautuful bowl I wanted.
I liked the bowl so much, I looked for it elsewhere online, where I found it typically comes in a set of 4 that cost $70 on average.
So I go back to Macy's weeks later, now everything is supposed to be 75% off. I find my bowl again. It has a label saying it was initially $40 but its 50% off so its $20.
I grab it and continue walking around. I noticed that the label was tapped on, so I peeles off the label and stuck it somewhere else. I continue walking and come across a plain clear glass cup that's anout $2. I peel off the price sticker of the cup and stick it on the bottom of my bowl.
I get in the line and pay $2 for a bowl that had a price range of $40-$70. I leave a Macy's where everything is final sale and the store itself is closing.
I don't know if that's considered stealing, although it made me feel like I was in Ocean's 11. All I know is that I got a bowl that made me happy the week before my birthday.
What about me made you think I hate capitalism? Jokes aside, stealing from corporations is A okay. Pretty much every pair of earrings I acquired during grad school were stolen from Target. Being broke sucks and sometimes we want nice things. Happy birthday, comrade and enjoy your bowl. 🎈🎂

It should be illegal to whisper around a deaf/hard of hearing person, just saying.

It may seem a bit strange but where are you from?
I’m from a small town in New York State about 30 minutes from the Canadian border. For reference, growing up my family would go to Canada for dinner and then come back home. That’s about as specific as I’ll be because stranger danger lol.

hello i luv ur blog <3 im in college right now and my grades are shit but i really want to get my masters in clinical psych & i was wondering how feasible u think it is to even get into grad school with a low gpa ?
Hi friend, thanks for the kind words. Thinking back on it, I don’t recall if my graduate program had a minimum gpa one had to have to gain entry in the program. Although we did have a minimum gpa we had to maintain once in the program in order to stay in the program. If I had any advice when it comes to academics, perhaps changing your course of study for your bachelors. My graduate cohort had people who had studied all sorts of different things for their bachelors degree. You just have to have a bachelors degree to get into the masters program, it doesn’t matter what it’s in, so perhaps you could find something easier to do. Otherwise, I would suggest seeing if there’s a mental health club on campus or maybe getting a job in a related field like being an inpatient mental health tech at a hospital. Because graduate programs require an interview portion in order to gain entry and this gives you an opportunity to kind of sell yourself so to speak. Having experience in a related field is something you could draw on if maybe the academic side isn’t so strong. And honestly most of being a good counselor comes down to your way of being, how you can hold space for someone, and the rapport you build with people to make them feel safe, seen, and heard. That’s not something that’s determined by how well you did in college. So if it’s something you’re determined to do, I think it’s definitely possible with some hard work. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.
