hello! i'm planning on trying for g-rosso s4 in march, and i would just like to ask more about your guide post for ticketing, about buying through a proxy and bypassing jp phone number verification? how would that work?

Proxy

This is very regional-dependent: I just search for "japan proxy" on facebook (more reliable than instagram because old people website), check their history and look for "ticketing" in the description (filter those that only buy goods or just personal travellers with no on-site agents).

You give them the show's information and they'll give you a quotation. If you agree with the price, make a deposit and they'll proceed with the lottery and refund if it fails. Some companies take a service charge regardless if the lottery succeeds.

My proxy mentioned eplus's lottery ticket will have the buyer's name printed. The G-rosso I remember is not that strict with checking ids, so I'm not too worried. More after my visit.

You'll need a prxoy if you buy through eplus (= online ticketing sites) whether or not you're joining the lottery. I used a proxy that handled everything, but there's also proxies that only handle the phone verification part. You get to register an account with your own name.

Phone verification: Echoing other posts: You need to make a call to eplus's number. Other people suggested using an 050 IP Phone or buying a Japanese SIM card from Hanacell or Mobal. But IP phones might be banned and the SIM cards only work within Japan so I'm not sure how it works either...

Redeeming the ticket: Remind the proxy to choose "pick-up at convenience store" instead of delievery, either Family Mart or 7-11 is fine. Eplus will send you a redemption code via email two weeks before the show and you can print the ticket from the convenience store machine once you land in Japan.

edit: I just realize the whole exchange happened online unlike actual goods that need to be shipped, so maybe it's not as region-specific as I thought...

Experience with S3:

Lottery: You will only be considered for one showing and you have up to three choices. You can't pick the seats, so just pick out the date and time.

Pretty much everyone on my twitter tl (jp fans) failed the Premium round, but managed to score in the General round. We reckoned it was simply because there are just too few Premium seats (38 x 3 rows = 114 seats). Some General seats are still available as of today, except the first and final showing.

The consideration of whether you MUST need the first 3 rows or you're fine sitting a bit back in the first block: If Row A-C is a must, I'd choose a less popular date and time. Not the first or final showing and Satuday rather than Sunday. For S4, I'm kinda debating if I should even bother because of the odds would be even greater now the Jeramie fans are in the race too. Though, S4 has 16 days and S3 only 9 days. I could only speculate how eplus's lottery system works and there'd be different stats maths based on that with ticket types but i digress

twitter tickets: I don't see anyone reselling Premium seats in the first week, but listings from the general round showed up at an average rate. I am seeing S3's last weekend, so the general sale opens before my weekend's seating reveal, so I grab a ticket just to be safely seated more upfront than general sale. I am cheap and waiting for last-minute (and premium) resells after the redemption date and closer to the show.

same-day tickets: The website states there will be no same-day free-seating tickets. I suppose they mean there will be no discount, but if seats are available, you should be able to buy one from the convenience store or ask the staff. I'll confirm this on-site.

Valeflow & the IMMN

Valeflow and the IMMN central building are on a floating island. Said island usually plants itself in or above the oceans of worlds. It has a magifuel engine in a room underneath the IMMN building that allows it to travel through dimensions; the engine also makes the atmosphere around the island breathable, sustainable and habitable.

The IMMN is a very small company that operates on a per-individual basis. It focuses on getting items to people that need them. It can be letters from a lost loved one, communications between residents of different worlds, sometimes it's useful items that show up and can't otherwise be explained, sometimes it's replenishing goods in an area to make sure things thrive, and sometimes it's just regular mail.

Since the IMMN is small, it doesn't have stations on a per world basis. It dispenses handheld portal devices to its employees to get them into general locations/worlds, that way the island doesn't have to switch worlds every time a new delievery order comes in. Said portal devices are recognized to possibly be misused, so they are connected to the central building and can be individually and remotely decommissioned if need be.

the town of Valeflow isn’t very large either. there’s roughly 1000-1200 people living there, so it’s enough to establish a community and various services, but not enough to be a super huge city.

the island itself is pretty big, adorned with multiple rivers and lush forests. it has a thriving ecosystem as well. Valeflow is stationed in the center of the island, on top of one of the rivers, so the town gets most of its power from hydroelectric.

On The Skiekan

the Skiekan were an aerial species that were noted for their flexibility. they could hover and soar with ease, and there were many different wing and tail types that allowed for incredible diversity in flight means. they could be diurnal or nocturnal, and they adapted to most environments pretty quickly.

one of the Skiekan’s glaring weaknesses is that they have a degree of ingrained claustrophobia. being in enclosed spaces for a long amount of time is known the cause anxiety.

each Skiekan produces a powder from their wings which is known as “shed”. shed is incredibly diverse. some shed could be used for offensive means, like poisonous shed, sleep/paralysis powder shed, blinding powder shed, etc. other shed could be used for common daily means. some Skiekans that specialize in cooking tended to have freshness shed, a kind of salty powder that preserves food well. blacksmiths would commonly have shed that repels heat. rarer still were “elemental” shed types, like ones that could ignite fire or electrical currents in the air when concentrated.

shed is naturally stored in the wings and can be released or contained by choice; the powder only “activates” when certain chemicals are released in the wing veins.

buildup of shed is prevented by brushing and gently cleaning the wings regularly. this gets rid of the inactive powder buildup, which could encumber flight if left unchecked.

water and most kinds of shed don’t mix because water can wash away an unhealthy amount of shed. certain kinds of shed are compatible with water, though, and can even help with swimming by coating the wings.

Skiekans have enhanced hearing and sharp vision. their peripheral vision and focus is actually quite impressive compared to humans’.

Skiekans can produce clicking sounds to echolocate, although it isn’t always the most accurate. devices and means to help with echolocation were common in their society, especially among the nocturnal folk.

Last wednesday, Novemver 15, 2023 the business administration faculty spear headed the lecture program series 2023. Were all students participated the zoom video conference to futher our knowledge about entrepreneurship. They tackled about the intellectual property rights, prior arts search, start-up ecosystem and start-up journey.

Intellectual property is stuff you make with your mind. Like ideas, inventions, and creative things. Different countries have different rules for protecting these. The main ones are patents for inventions, copyrights for creative works, trademarks for logos, and trade secrets for keeping things. And it is said by Maam Gameliela Dumanca that intellectual property is a "creation of mind" were the ideas of our mind needs to transform into tangible one so that it could be registered with the intellectual property office of the philippines.

Prior arts search is not discussed in the live and said to be post in the google classroom. And I still don't have the file about this topic so I just search what is it all about. Base on my research prior arts search it is for an invention to be patented, the criteria of novelty and non-obviousness have to be met. A prior art search is undertaken to ascertain whether an invention is new and non-obvious, or not.

From the power point presentation of Ms. Alice Therese L. Caballeda, a start-up ecosystem is formed by people, startups in their various stages and various types of organizations in a location (physical and/or virtual), interacting as a system to create new startup companies. And she further explain it that it is a group of people who are helping each other to develop a start-up.

When starting a business, you’ll go through different phases like with any journey you undertake. This next section introduces startup journey by Ms. Doren Elsie Jane Gersava. She fucoses about teaching us about pitching making techniques, were she tells us her journey in making or being part of a start-up jouney.

What caught my interest during the discussion is about start-up ecosystem that was discussed by Ms. Alice Therese L. Caballeda. Expecially about when she ask "why do start-up need the ecosystem?" my mind starts thinking why do? Then Ms. Alice explain it further and I have understand that startups need an ecosystem because it provides them with access to resources, support, and networking opportunities that are crucial for their growth and success. An ecosystem can offer startups things like funding, mentorship, industry connections, and a community of like-minded entrepreneurs who can offer support and advice. Additionally, an ecosystem can help startups navigate the challenges of building a business, such as finding the right talent, developing a go-to-market strategy, and managing finances. By being part of an ecosystem, startups can increase their chances of success and create a positive impact on their industry and community.

In summary, the webinar was incredibly helpful in enhancing my understanding of the entrepreneurial mindset. The valuable lessons I've gained will undoubtedly benefit me in the future. It's essential to not only remember these insights but also internalize them and be ready to apply them when the right opportunities arise. Continuous reflection and practical application will solidify these learnings and contribute to my growth as an entrepreneur.

A Baby Makes Three

A/N: Requested by @thetempleofthemasaigoddess​ which is the very first request I have ever had, so thank you for that! This is part of my Tonda-verse, a sort of part 3. There are references to the first two stories, so you better read those before reading this one.

It had been two years since you had met Tonda and so much had happened then. Once you had accepted that the life you once belonged to was gone, that you were dead to the world, you began to rebuild your life and found yourself reborn. The wedding ceremony was small, you, Tonda and the priest, but it was all you needed, finer than any royal wedding you could have ever had or been to. The golden sun slowing descending, the birds chirping, the flowers softly blowing in the wind, and Tonda, looking so handsome, so happy.

It did not take long for the villagers to hear about the wedding and they all wanted to offer their congratulations, even when you two were trying to have a small honeymoon. Short though it was, those four days of early summer where neither of you did work or leave the mill were the happiest you had.

With the encouragement of Tonda, you worked to make your own shop as a soap maker.  At first, you worked inside the mill, often your tools, ingredients and soaps took up a good deal of space, but Tonda was good enough to not complain nor get upset with the clutter. He was your biggest supporter, the one who brought your spirits up when you felt like giving up. To show how much faith he had in you and your work, he had built your own work shed and was the first one to say “I told you so” when after returning from the village and having been completely sold out. It was a celebratory night for you both.

The next few years may have been full of hard work, aching backs, cracked hands, being tired by the end of the night. But ultimately, you knew that the hard work was worth it to at last have the feeling that you have worth, to prove that you could do more than be a bargaining chip for political reasons, and to be your own person. Above all, it was worth it to be with Tonda.

You sometimes think about what would have happened if you did marry the prince, would the marriage have made it as far as yours and Tonda’s? No, you think, because your more outspoken side would have made itself known and unlike Tonda, who reveled in your thoughts and took your words to heart, your betrothed or his advisors would have ignored you and written you off as a silly woman. You’d rebel, get angry, your soul slowly die and be nothing more than an empty shell of a queen who gave birth to children, at least an heir before your king left you to be with whatever mistress he favored that day. 

You hoped that wasn’t a life for your sister, but if it had been you, it would have been the most agonizing death you could have ever imagined. You counted your blessings each day to think of how lucky you were to have found Tonda.

The days may have been filled with work, but the evenings, oh, but were the evenings sweet. More than content with each other’s company, you ate together, danced, read, and even bathed together. That was one of your favorite activities, where the two of you melted into the warm water and into each other’s embrace, washing away the day’s work. And then of course, it always somehow led to the bed you shared, the bed Tonda made to be bigger for you both, and made passionate love. It was like living in your own little world and nothing seemed to disrupt it.

It didn’t occur to you that something could indeed change your way of life, until one day. While selling soaps, Adolfus had asked how you and Tonda were and then he asked the armor piercing question. “Have you and Tonda ever thought about children?”

You didn’t know how to answer that. Growing up, you were taught that it was a princess’ duty to bear heirs for the kingdom, but no one had ever asked you if you had ever really wanted children. You liked them, most certainly, and you had dreams of being a loving mother to your children, giving them a better childhood than what you had, you’d give them love. That desire grew when you watched Tonda play with the children in the village, a boy and girl grabbing on to each end of Tonda’s staff and him lifting and swaying them in the air. 

You would happily have Tonda’s children, but did he want them? You were going to ask him, but you felt so tired that it slipped your mind. It slipped your mind in the morning as well, since you were still so tired.

“My princess?” Tonda caressed your hair, using his term of affection for you, with a look of worry on his face. “Are you alright?”

“I’m just a little tired. I must have pushed myself too much this week’s orders.”

He offered a smile then said, “Take the day off. You deserve it. Rest, if you need me, I’ll be outside.” He kissed your forehead before heading out. You didn’t have even the energy to argue, but just fell back to sleep and didn’t wake until late afternoon. Tonda made your favorite meal as a reward for the work you have done, and you found that your appetite was fierce, having three helpings of it. 

“I do not blame you,” he said, after you apologized for the intensity of your hunger, “You barely ate much this week, and you ate nothing today. It’s good to see you looking healthy.”

These should have been your first clues, but it would not hit you until a week later when you started to realize some of the peculiarities in your habits. You were going to relieve yourself more often than usual, the smell of certain foods made your stomach turn when before you loved said food, and to top it off, you were somehow always ill in the morning. You didn’t tell Tonda just yet, you didn’t want to worry him, not until you went to the village doctor.

Later that evening, when you two settled in for the night, you decided that you should tell him. You were nervous, excited, but mostly uncertain. “Tonda, can we talk?”

“Aren’t we talking already?” he joked, but then saw how serious you looked and made sure he was all eyes and ears on you.

“I have something to tell you. Actually, I’ve been meaning to ask you this, but I suppose, I don’t have much of a choice now.” You sigh, and decided, better to just say it. “I am with child.”

You expected hesitation, worry, uncertainty, but you didn’t expect him to burst into a smile and pull you into his arms, kissing you everywhere. “Oh, my princess, I can’t believe it! When did you find out?”

“Just today. I saw the midwife and she confirmed my suspicions. You are happy, Tonda? Truly?”

“Happy? There isn’t any other word to describe how I feel now. Did, did you expect me not to be?”

“I don’t know. We had never talked about children, it wasn’t until Adolfus had asked that I had thought about it. And don’t worry, my dear, I want nothing more than to have your child. Especially now, knowing that you want this as much as I do.” 

He picked you up and carried you to the bed, showing you how much he loved you and how happy he was, and after you two laid in bed, sleepy, satisfied and loved, he ran his hand over your still non-showing stomach, pressing a kiss to it then rested his head, as if trying to hear the tiniest sound of your child.

The months passed and your belly grew more and more, and you found it more and more difficult to work as much as you did. Tonda created a chair for you to sit in as you worked, but in the last month of your pregnancy, you had to quit because your belly wouldn’t allow you to work properly. It was probably for the best, you were growing more and more tired, eager for the child to come soon. 

Tonda was the most wonderful husband during this time. He worked doubly hard to make sure to tend to your needs as well as in his work, knowing that a baby will require a lot of attention. Winter was coming, so he needed to be finished soon. He hand made the crib for the baby and you had to marvel at the incredible work he did, and you could feel that every etching and curve and knob was filled with so much love for a life he had yet to meet, and it made you weep with happiness.

The times when neither of you worked, you both discussed how your lives would change with this new chapter, the names you would pick depending on whether you’d have a girl or a boy. And as your stomach grew, Tonda began to sing to it, talking as if the baby could hear. “You never know,” he says, “If they can hear me, I’d want them to know how much I love them.” How lucky you were to have him be your husband and father of your child.

It was early in December when it began. The snow was falling heavily outside, and while safe and warm in your home, you felt a gnawing feeling in your stomach, coming and going. You knew it was time when the sudden burst of water that escaped between your legs. Tonda was quick to hurry with his horse, despite your not wanting to be alone.

“I promise, I will not be more than fifteen minutes.” It felt more like a hour, but he was true to his word and was back in ten minutes with the midwife. Most husbands would stay away and allow the women to do whatever work they needed to do, but Tonda stayed close, holding your hand when you asked, placing a cool cloth over your forehead, anything the midwife asked, anything to ensure a safe deliver for you and your child.

It took you a half an hour until you heard the cries of your baby, and it was the most beautiful sound you had ever heard. All the pain and struggle you went through didn’t matter anymore. “He is perfectly healthy, my dear,” she says, taking your child to help clean him up. “A beautiful, healthy boy.”

She hands you your son, and you never saw anything more beautiful than your pink, wrinkly faced baby, because he was yours and Tonda’s, the perfect combination of you both. Tonda stared at him with wonder, tears in his eyes made you sob for joy. “Oh, Tonda, look what we have made.”

“You did it all, my princess,” he cooed with admiration, “You are the most incredible woman I’ve known,” he kisses your forehead.

“What will you call him?” asked the midwife.

“Casper,” you say, “It means ‘treasure bearer’.”

“Quite a fitting name,” she agreed, before leaving you two alone. “It’s alright, the snow has settled and you two will want to be alone now. Good night.”

Once she had left, Tonda climbed into the bed beide you and stared in wonder at your child. “He is so beautiful, I can’t believe he’s a part of me.”

“But he is yours, he’s ours. Here,” you carefully hand off your son to Tonda, who treats him as if he is made of glass, but once settled in his arms, Tonda let out a sigh and tears fall down his face.

“Forgive me for saying this,” he begins, making you look at him curiously, “But I am glad your carriage broke that day.”

Splatoon 3 Hub Ramblings

this area gives me grizzco vibes

it's to the left of this location, next to what looks like a vaguely salmon-shaped sign. and the piggy bank definitely relates to grizzco's "get money quick" vibe.

this area is behind the previously-shown area. you can see the snake's tail on the top left of the second image.

the corner shop that's in both shots has the ammo knights logo on it!

this truck is actually the same truck as the one in the shot of the battle tower! you can see the green railing and the scooter in both. the shop next to them is of a delievery company it seems, wonder if that's relevant?

the road next to that is likely blocked off - you can see people setting up shop on it, and there does not seem to be anything going on next to it.

now this shot? i have NO clue. the traditional building in the background here looks similar to the one we see in the tower shot, but the details do not match up. the stairs we can see here match with the big stairs seen in the tower shot, but i also have no clue what the platforms up top are - i don't think i've seen any similar construction in any other shot

here you can see a mailbox! it seems to belong to a shop with a logo of a paper airplane modeled after a squid, so that's likely where you send your not-miiverse messages.

here we have a shot of the battle tower, a modern art installation (shaped after a stylized squid?) and a train station (you can see the icon of a train at the very bottom). the station is likely where you first arrive, and i'd even go so far as to say it's the way to the single player mode. the location even fits - the single player mode entrance has always been very close to the left of the battle tower. also, you can see construction going on!

the modern art installation baffled me at first, since it seems to not be in the other battle tower shot. but then i saw it!

see that thing underneath the purple on the tower? at first i thought it was part of the tower, but look at that white patch on it! that's the same sticker that's on the modern art installation, it just blended in with the tower in the other shot due to the angle.

lastly, here's my shitty mockup of the area. everything but the back alley area seems pretty safe to me location-wise. the overhead train line is colored green here. if i had to guess, there probably isn't going to be much else happening to the right.

This is my and my bro’s entry for a competition held by a company called Getränke Hoffmann. (design for their delievery trucks) I swear this design has robbed me of sleep, has kept me from eating and drinking and made me mentally weak. Reason being: I found out about this competition last week on friday, saw that the deadline is... today. 12 of March. Told my bro. Bro said he will draw me the graffiti, and he did, except that he needed 5 days for it and I was busy with all the stuff I had to hand in for school because it’s the end of semester. Which then led to me designing more or less all of this last night and today. If we don’t win I will ragequit my life. And now I need food, tea and sleep.

I learnt that Samantha is a crazy little girl today.

We were in the pantry during lunch as usual, the two of us and our dabaoed food. Mine was the same old lame caibeng from the corner hawker centre two streets away; $2.40 for three veg with rice drenched in curry sauce, compliments of the caibeng stall. Hers was from the fancy little cafe just across the street, the sort that is probably owned by an overseas law graduate with an artsy tattoo on his wrist. On its menu today was a pulled pork burger accompanied by luxurious greens topped with cherry tomatoes, drizzled in a translucent brown sauce. This Samantha had carefully transported to the company’s most decent piece of crockery, a white plate whose stains and blemishes could be narrowly excluded from a precise camera angle. At least that’s what I discovered from seeing Samantha’s daily Instagram #lunchtime posts.

At length, Samantha placed her phone on the table and began taking small nibbles of the salad. Unfortunately, it didn’t seem to interest her very much. Setting down her fork, she turned her gaze to me.

‘Don’t you get tired of eating that every day?’ she asked.

‘Don’t you get tired of taking photos of stuff you don’t even eat every day?’ I retorted.

Samantha scoffed. ‘My dear,’ she said, shaking her head with the kind of condescending smile that adults give little kids, ‘it doesn’t matter whether I feel tired. What matters is what my three thousand four hundred and ninety-seven fans want...what they need.’

That’s what Samantha calls her Instagram followers. Fans. It is in moments like these, as I glance from pulled pork burger, the salad with its translucent brown sauce, to Samantha’s purple hair, her sparkly designer blouse, her elaborately made-up face; that I think to myself if this is what the next generation is, we’re seriously crapped.

‘So this is where you salary goes to huh? Pleasing your three thousand four hundred and ninety-seven fans.’

‘No, of course not.’ Samantha said. She picked up her phone. ‘Let me show you something.’ After a bit of scrolling, she seemed to have found what she was looking for and thrust her phone at me triumphantly. ‘Now this is where my salary is going to.’

There on her phone screen was a photo of packets and packets of Super Rings in an open box, which was surrounded by yet more boxes.

‘You’re kidding me.’

‘Nope. They arrived last night. Ordered these babies from Shopee. Free delivery even. Poor delievery dude had to go back and forth from his van three or four times. But pretty awesome ya? Back when I was a kid I could only afford one every day at the bus interchange kiosk with my allowance. Now that I have a salary I can get as many as I want. Being an adult rocks eh?’

Being an adult.

In my experience, when people become adults and start earning salaries, some start to save for a house, others spend their money on partying and booze, and yet others bring their parents out for a nice restaurant dinner.

And then there is a Samantha who spends her first salary buying crates of Super Rings from Shopee.

ebay has partnered with some mail delievery company called Pitney Bowes and they are quite irresponsible. I ordered that Captain America playing card part of a 1978 Marvel Superhero playing card set. So I get a message from Ebay that it was delievered yesterday morning, except no package. They insist it was delievered, excpt i live in an apartment complex where no obut USPS has access to the mailboxes. Pitney Bowes hands it over to USPS and then they say it was delievered, even though it WASNT. The card was less than 10 dollars, but i ordererd the card to complete the 1978 Marvel Comics Superhero set i had as a kid. Another seller charges 5,71 to ship the cards, and now I understand why.
